Chapter 1 A Painful Discovery

Guilt ate Isla Spencer to no end. She placed her hand against her belly without even realising it. The call she received earlier made her blood run cold. The voice of the doctor echoed in her head.

"We are so sorry for the mistake in the IVF procedure, Miss Isla. The sperm was switched."

How could she face her betrothed with this bad news.

Her betrothed Coel Reese, the Alpha of her pack, was lying in a comatose state and no one knew if he would make it. His family had urged her to make the ultimate sacrifice, carrying his child to preserve the Alpha bloodline.

"Something foul reeks in place!" Hilda's malicious voice echoed through the car.

Isla's eyes sharpened. This was the worst time for her step sister to bully her.

Hilda had always been the perfect child. Unbearably sweet, feminine and loved by everyone. She had always been a thorn in Isla's flesh.

Hilda made sure to sniff Isla out and held her breath dramatically. "You should take a bath. I wonder why I have to use the same car as you to get to the hospital."

Isla's heart pounded hard against her chest. So many scenarios playing in her head.

Her stomach twisted and pain jolted in her belly. She traced the scar on her torso from the procedure she had.

She didn't want to give Hilda what she wanted, which was always a reaction. She learnt her lesson from before. She would always be blamed and punished.

Isla kept her gaze straight and Hilda shoved her hands in her face. "Look at my ring, isn't it beautiful?"

Isla didn't want to look, but something about it seemed familiar. She took a second glance at it.

"Feed your eyes, runt. This is the closest you can to get to something this exquisite."

Isla quickly regained herself. The driver had taken a bend and they were getting closer to the hospital.

A guard sat in front with a stern face and bulky frame. She knew he was only there to protect her family's precious gem, Hilda.

She almost felt like the short trip shouldn't end.

"The man who gave you that ring must be loaded. It looks like real diamonds." Isla didn't let Hilda's actions get to her.

Hilda scoffed and her shoulders puffed. Her blonde, curly hair danced in her face. She has the perfect face with cherry lips and a strong wolf.

"Yes, he definitely is. I don't know how you deal with being so insignificant. The man I'm with is an Alpha and even has a woman who thinks she is his betrothed, not knowing she's just being used for space."

Hilda had a glint in her eyes, it was like she knew something that Isla didn't.

"Is he even your fated mate?"

Hilda gave a fake smile. "He isn't, but I want him and I must have him. You know, this ring is supposed to be for the woman who would be his wife. He wanted to give her formalities but I insisted that I wanted it."

Isla took a second look at the ring. It looked just like the one that Coel had told her was a family heirloom that he would give her on their wedding night but it somehow disappeared and he always got hostile when she asked.

"That is cold, even for you." Isla wondered why there was a dread in her heart.

Her earlier predicament was long forgotten. Why did everything seem so familiar?

"Such a pity though, she even gave him an organ."

Isla's head whipped in her malicious sister's direction. They were very different in every way. No one would guess they were related.

The guard and driver behaved as if they couldn't hear anything.

"What did you say?" Isla's voice was low. She didn't want to believe what her heart was telling her.

She stared at the ring closely this time, and she saw it. The insignia belonging to the Reese family was on the ring, realisation set in.

Could she have been a fool all these while?

Was this why Hilda was always at the hospital?

"Why do you seem so pale, sister?" Hilda placed her dainty fingers against Isla's forehead as if she cared.

The taunting look on her face said otherwise.

"Get your hands off me this instant!" Isla gritted her teeth in annoyance. Her eyes flashed and her wolf, Serena pushed forward.

Fear rippled through Hilda for a moment and she did, but she quickly regained herself.

Just after the rogue attack, Coel was in need of a liver transplant. He wouldn't have survived without it.

She didn't think twice but had given hers to him so he could survive. Even when she was asked to give her womb for the IVF procedure since no one was sure he would survive, she did.

No one even cared that she was still healing from the liver transplant and her wolf was just an Omega, so she healed slowly.

She gave her everything, even when they said the pregnancy could cost her life. She still underwent it.

"How dare that cheating bastard!" Serena's voice echoed at the back of Isla's head. Fury made her push forward and Isla's eyes flashed gold.

"What is wrong, sis? Don't you love my story?" Hilda taunted with a smirk.

Isla lost it.

Before Hilda blinked her head rammed hard against the car window, cracking the glass.

Hilda groaned in pain and shoved her off. "Are you insane?" She screeched.

Chapter 2 Coel's Affair

"You bitch! I'm glad you finally figured out your own stupidity." Blood trickled down Hilda's forehead.

The car stopped abruptly and both the driver and guard stepped out pulling the doors open.

Even the workers knew that Isla was the outcast. They were allowed to treat her with no regard.

Isla was grabbed roughly by the guard. Hilda feigned a sob to worsen the situation. "It's not my fault that I'm preferred by everyone. Why do you have to be so jealous of me, Isla? It's not my fault that the Alpha chose me over you as his mate."

The driver and guard gave each other a glance.

Now everything made sense. "I now know why he always ran to you when you faked sickness, you were both cheating behind my back." Isla had so much agony in her voice as she spoke.

She threw away her life for a bastard that didn't deserve it. The guard held her hands behind her, which annoyed her even more.

"Let go of me!!" She screamed and shook.

"You need to let her go, she may not be anything but she still carries the Alpha's seed." The driver reminded him.

The guard let her go and she almost fell forward.

"You need to apologise to the young mistress, Miss Isla. We wouldn't want any trouble with your parents."

Tears flower uncontrollably down Isla's cheeks. She was the one hurt and she was still the one made to apologise?

Hilda had already healed because of her strong wolf and folded her arms with a sneer on her face. "Take a look at yourself! You're nothing but a worn out piece of trash and even your mate couldn't stand. Look at me, you can't even compare. I'm the better choice, why won't he choose me."

Isla sobbed and fell to her knees clumsily. She had loved Coel with all her heart for the longest time. Now everything was making sense.

His refusal to mark her.

His constant postponement of their mating ceremony. She thought it didn't mean anything until now.

She was just being used.

Hilda had always wanted her things. She had always wanted what belonged to her since when they were children.

"Get down on your knees and apologize!"

"Never! I will never do that. Infact, I will give you another dirty slap to knock some sense into you." Serena was pushing forward already. Isla's voice was hoarse and calm.

Hilda shifted uncomfortably in the backseat but didn't back down.

"Give her five hard slaps in return." She ordered the guard.

He nodded like some lost puppy. The driver was one who always hated how Isla was treated in the house, but he couldn't do anything about it.

The guard raised his hand and within seconds a hard slap hit Isla's cheek. She could barely keep herself standing but she covered her belly.

A wicked smirk appeared on Hilda's face.

Just when he was about to go for another, Isla's phone began to ring aloud and he paused.

She pulled it from her pocket and checked who it was. It was Coel's mother. Blood fell from her nostrils.

"Hello." She answered with a shaky voice.

"Are you okay, child?" Even though the Reeses were selfish, they at least showed a little care towards Isla.

"Yes, I'm fine, Luna. Is there any problem?"

"Your betrothed is awake. Hurry! I'm sure he'd be glad to see you."

Their werewolf hearing made the others hear too and Hilda's face brightened.

"Throw the runt in, I have places to be." She straightened her dress.

The guard nodded and obeyed, throwing Isla back into the car.

They drove hastily and soon arrived at the hospital.

Hilda didn't even wait, she hopped out of the car and headed straight inside.

Isla stepped out slowly. Still dizzy from the harsh slap the guard gave her.

She first walked to an outside bench and sat to brace herself. She couldn't believe that he would do that to her.

Coel may be harsh and tough with her but she felt like he still loved her.

Maybe Hilda was just being spiteful and tried to sabotage her happiness. She took deep breaths for about ten minutes and chose to face him.

Maybe there was a reasonable explanation to it.

She took shaky steps inside. Just as she arrived at the door of Coel's room the sounds she heard stopped her in her tracks.

"Goddeessssssss......urghhh, Hilda. Babe, you feel so good. I'm almost...there." That was definitely Coel's voice.

Gurgling sounds came from the room.

It couldn't be that they were doing what she thought they were.

She pushed the door open and staggered at the sight.

Hilda's eyes shot at the door and she looked pleased, taking him in deeper.

Coel was deep in her throat and had his head thrown back, groaning in pleasure. He hadn't even noticed Isla and didn't care. He had a firm grip on Hilda's hair.

A bloodied bandage was wrapped across his bare torso.

Anyone could have walked inside and seen this atrocious act.

The audacity made Isla boil with rage.

"So it's true! Coel was truly having an affair with her! Now it makes sense why he was always overly protective of her even though we were mates." Serena spoke at the back of Isla's head.

"Coel!!!"

Chapter 3 I'm Married!

Coel pushed Hilda off as if she was burning flames.

He regained himself and had a look on his face that was between guilt and annoyance.

"You should have knocked, Isla. We were busy."

Isla couldn't believe the words that came out of his mouth. "Busy? Sleeping with my sister?"

Hilda looked displeased. For a minute, she wasn't the center of attention. Why did he even look guilty? She was glad that Isla finally found out about them.

He rolled his eyes. "You're being dramatic, Isla. You're my betrothed remember? You should be glad I even considered you in the first place." He had a look of contempt.

Isla took large strides towards them. "After everything I did for you? After even giving my life away to have your child? This is how you betray me?"

"Get over it. You're too weak, Isla. Just a measly Omega, detested by everyone, even her family. I am doing you a favour by being with you so you owe me everything, even your life."

His words cut through her like a knife.

Hilda whimpered for attention and pretended to be dizzy, falling atop Coel's body. He grunted mildly but held her close.

"Are you okay?" He looks worried.

Isla just realised that he never looked at her like that. With so much care, and tenderness.

"Isla got out of control in the car and hit me."

He growled in anger and his eyes flashed. He released his Alpha pheromones and Isla fell to her knees, the pressure making blood spill from her lips.

"I won't be so merciful next time. In fact, for this you would no longer be my Luna but my side piece. That's what you're worth anyway."

Isla chuckled darkly. After everything she had done.

She realised that she was so desperate to be loved that she had given too much blindly and received crumbs in return.

But no more. "I, Isla Spencer, hereby reject you Alpha Coel Reece."

She fell to her knees and blood spilled from her mouth.

Coel also staggered and blood spilled out of mouth.

They both held their chests in pain.

"How dare you?" Coel said in rage. "You have nothing. You have no one and you dare reject me!"

Isla staggered and got to her feet. She walked as fast as her feet could take her and she soon reached the hospital door. She has somewhere to be.

The fertility clinic. She needed to get rid of this child. The doctor had called her and told her about how the sperm had been mistakenly switched and it belonged to another man.

She had ended the call just before they headed to the hospital with Hilda.

She picked up her phone and called the doctor back. "I want to get an abortion, today. Don't ask me questions." She ended the call abruptly.

She wiped the blood off her face.

After about thirty minutes, she got to the clinic using a cab. She paid and went straight to the doctor's office.

She barged in and saw the doctor with two large men seated already.

"Welcome, Miss Isla. Take a seat." Doctor Bell gestured at a spare seat.

The men seated had a very powerful aura that she almost felt like barring her neck.

"About the abortion. I had to call the man whose baby you want to take out."

Isla gasped in shock. She didn't want things to get complicated. Why did the doctor tell him?

The broader man backing her stood tongue feet. He turned and she couldn't help but notice that he was the most handsome man that she had ever seen.

He had a grim look on his face. "You can't abort that child. He belongs to me too. I would give you anything that you want."

"I don't want your money."

The second man stood to his feet. "You should be privileged that you even carry the heir of our pack. Do you have any idea who this man is?"

She stared harder but she couldn't recognise the man who claimed the child in her belly.

"Alpha Logan Vale."

Isla spluttered and almost fell off the chair. The most powerful Alpha of the Iron Fang pack. Coel was nothing compared to him. Her own pack was not as powerful as he's.

"I can't keep this baby. This is my body and I won't keep the child." A fire ignited in Isla's chest.

Her phone began ringing and she picked up. It was her step mother.

"You dared to reject Alpha Coel, just because of a little affair? You should be lucky he even wants anything to do with you."

"But....."

"You will shut your mouth. Your father and I have come to a conclusion that you would marry Alpha Reid."

Isla's heart stills. "What? The brutal woman beater?"

Melinda, her stepmother, chuckled. "You will marry him. At least you'd be useful to your father and I. We have even spoken to him already."

"No..."

Logan's ears perked up, he could hear every word. The person on the phone seems to want to force her into a marriage. He would be damned to allow another man to take care of his child.

Isla couldn't bear it anymore and she needed the call. Her eyes were filled with tears.

She knew that she only had one option. Her eyes met Logan's. "You want me to keep the baby?"

He nodded slowly.

"Then, marry me."

"I accept, the papers would be ready in two hours. I'll sign them and send them to you. I need to go for a business meeting, I'll come back for you to move into my place.

He didn't bother pushing it. He knew she was running away from an arranged marriage and wanted something safe.

Isla noticed how the other man was staring at her in disgust. As if she was some opportunist.

"I am not after your money. It could be for just a stipulated period and I will sign a prenup."

"Good, you know your place. You can't be my Luna. I'm only agreeing to this because I don't want my child being raised by another man."

She nodded and they walked off. Doctor Bells allowed her to stay at the hospital until the certificate came with some documents. Logan's lawyer brought it and she signed after reading it.

He handed her a copy and she became all giddy inside.

She skipped and headed straight home. Her family, Hilda, Melinda and her father, Cassian, all stood in the sitting room waiting in anger.

She didn't even know where the confidence came from. She walked straight to them and pulled out the marriage certificate.

"You can't force me to marry, I'm already married."

"What?"
