The Hybrid Moonlight's Curse

~ LENORA'S POV ~

" No" I yell at the top of my voice, " please stay away from me!!"

I ran through the thick forest blindly, not knowing where I am heading. All I know is I need to run away. Everything about the people pursuing me screams danger.

" Lenora.... Don't push us more than this..." One of them said in a deep chilly voice.

The voice egged me to run faster, away from them..

How do they know me?? How did they know my name?? Have they been stalking me for a while??

The thought alone sent goosebumps to my skin.

Even with my vampiric speeds, they still caught up with me.

My left foot caught a log I didn't see and sent me sprawling to the floor.

Within seconds, about twenty of them surrounded me.

" We have a message for you..." They all chorused together, " and one for the leader of your Clan, Sabian!!"

Whoa..... All these for a message??

I pushed myself up with my elbow and moved on the floor with my butts, thinking of ways to escape this predicament I found myself in.

" Oh... Okay??" I stuttered, I know vampires don't cry but right now, my tears are over flowing like a river.

This is my first mission out. I know they said expect a lot of adversaries but they didn't warn us, at least, not me, about monsters like this in the forest.

I am scared shitless, I just became a vampire and just graduated from being a fledgling to a neonate last week where I was given my first mission instantly.

Everything has been going on smoothy except today, the last day..

They moved in closer on me in unison..

" Wha.... What else do you want??" I asked, tried but failed to mask my fear.. " Why are you coming close?"

" You have to be purified first."

" Purified??" I repeat.

" Yes, purified before you are eligible to get the message."

The tone made me understand it is something I'll hate, something that seems far more than they call it.

I screamed for help as they overpowered me. All my team mates are no where in sight.

I kept screaming as they dragged me on the floor by my hands..

" Help!! Help!!!" I continued screaming, my voice going deep into the night.

Apparently, my voice was become a nuisance to them. The next minute, a syringe connected to a vein in my neck..

What ever is in the syringe is powerful as heck..

"Help.." I said one last time, my voice coming out as a whisper.

Just before my eyes couldn't stay awake anymore and I blacked out, I saw the golden yellowest of eyes staring back at me.

He or she lifted its snout towards the moon and howled, followed by the loudest of growls I've ever heard.

A werewolf!!

"Lenora!!!" I heard someone calling out my name, it seemed really distant and echoing everywhere.

"Lenora!!!" The voice came again.

I felt a string pull me back to the real world, once again, I have nightmares of that night or should I refer it as Daymare?? Since we are in the day..

"Lenora!!!"

I recognize the voice instantly. It was none other than my best friend, Raven.

"Keep it down!!" I yell back in response.

She was so lucky to get an apartment here and finally be on her own unlike her, I stay with an abusive step father.

"Lenora!!" She shouts again.

"Stop yelling, I can hear you.." I replied from her room, drowsily.

She enters the room and jumps on me on the bed, "I was just making a call to you."

" Did you miss me that much??" I tease.

"Shush... Don't think too high of yourself, I....." She trails off, as if remembering something, "How was your trip by the way?"

" Yeahh.... the trip." I repeat in a bored tone. The trip, the Clan Elder, Sabian had sent me on few months ago, to save a human, yeah, surprised?? Me too, I don't know his relationship with the human but it seemed really weird especially since he forbade any relationship with humans.

" It went well I guess. I did what he asked me to."

" You just got back??"

" Yeah... I dropped my bag at Atticus' and came here immediately.

" Great!!" She clapped her hands excitedly, " Let's go celebrate your return."

I roll my here at her childish excitement.

" Does Lucas know you're back??"

" No, I've not called him."

" What are you waiting for girl!!? Call him and ask if he'll want to tag along." She stands, going into her closet.

" You are sure??"

" Yeah, why?" She turns back and raises her eyebrow.

" You don't mind being a third wheel??"

" Who says I'll be a third wheel??" She smirks, " I am going to get a guy for the night. Human preferably or wolf, those guys are hooottt."

I laughed softly and put a call to Lucas.

" Hey babe!" I chirped into the phone.

" Lenny?? You're back??"

" Yeah, I came back today and I can't wait to see you." It was hard to keep the excitement away from my voice.

Heck yeah!! Who wouldn't be so glad to meet up with their boyfriend after three months.

" Good to have you back." He replies, somewhat in a bored tone.

Is it my imagination or is he not glad to have me back??

" Wanna meet up?? Tonight??" I ask, " Both of us to ourselves and humans to prey on."

" Umm... Sorry Lenny, Sabian called for a meeting with me and few others. I'm so sorry."

" Oh sure... It is okay."

" I'm really sorry Lenny, if there was a way to escape, I would have rushed down to see you. You know how Sabian can be." He sounded really sorry, guess it was just my imagination after all.

" Yeah, sure, It's really fine."

I hung up and fell into a pillow face down..

" He is not coming??" Raven came over.

" Fvck Sabian!!"

" Oh, Sabian again.... Sorry babe. I guess it's just two of us then."

" I guess..."

" Come don't be such a whine baby, I have a club uptown, it's new and it'll be filled with humans and wolves. Don't you wanna try it out?!"

" No.... I just want to be with Lucas."

" And Lucas isn't here, so get your ass off the bed and let's out there!" She dragged me off the bed, pulling me across the floor into her closet.

" This is it??"

" Yeah, you like it??"

You can't miss the pride in her voice. " It was just opened today, so expect a lot." She winks.

" Sucker!!!" I swore under my breath as I took in the building, different multicolored lights adorning it outside.

" We are not going to stand here all day with you staring at it, are we??"

Raven hooked her arms in mine and led me into the club.

The inside is nothing like I ever imagined, " tell me how you found out about this place again??"

" I heard Juan giving orders to the fledglings and a few neonates not to be seen near here."

" And you decided to bring us here?? If Juan finds out,"

" He won't," she cuts me off, " besides, see we are not the only one from our clan here." Her eyes scans around, freezing at two o clock from me.

" What's wrong??" I ask, noticing as she stiffened beside me.

" It's nothing, let's explore deeper into one of the rooms." She mutters, steering me away.

I tried looking back to see what she saw, but she blocked my view."

Just as quickly as she pushed me into a room, she left, warning me not to come out.

Who the heck does that? Doesn't she know I'll be more curious?

The urgency in her voice scared me, I stared at the door a few seconds and shake my head.

I know Raven can be dramatic and scary but this seems different.

Fvck anything, I'm going after her, damn the consequences. What if is something that's gonna hurt her?? I can't just stand here and wait because asked me to.

I opened the door and went after her.

Her green long hair stood out among the crowds and it seemed like she is standing over someone, whispering harshly in anger. Even with my enhanced hearing, I couldn't hear her.

So I used my vampiric speed to move closer. I was within ten feet away from her, mixed with the crowd when I saw who she was being angry at.

Sitting on a sofa with about eight girls flanking him, a smirk and non challancy on his face.

Lucas???

~ Lenora ~

I felt dizzy for a second at blinked repeatedly, like the face is going to change or something.

It was indeed Lucas with the girls who have their hands all over his body and he seemed very content with it.

I can hear what they are saying clearly now.

" I am going to ask for the last time, not because of anything but for the sake of my friend, get out of here!!" Raven half yelled.

"Sorry, who's your friend again?"

"Lucas!!" Raven hissed through her breath.

" And why should I listen to you??" Lucas smirked, " you both met me here."

" Do you have no shame?? You lied to your girlfriend because of this person??" Raven voice was filled with disgust, " if it were another person, I wouldn't be so bothered but it just had to be her."

I twisted my head to see the person Raven is referring to. Apparently someone I didn't see from my point of view.

Shocked ripped my veins, cold went down my spine, freezing me in place as I stared at the lady in question.

She caught my eyes and winked, going in for a deep kiss with Lucas.

It was my sister.

Step sister rather.

Or should I say Foster sister??

They all have a common thing, "Sister!!"

Raven tore my sister, Scarlett, off Lucas instantly. She hasn't noticed my presence yet.

" Are you crazy??!! How can you cheat on Lenora with her sister!? You are a whore!"

" She's better at everything than Lenora." Lucas snapped. "Besides, this is nothing strange."

" Are you listening to yourself you son of a...."

I hear her take calming breath.

" When did both of you start seeing each other?? After Lenora went on her trip??"

" Says who?" Scarlett snickered, using a finger to draw circles on Lucas chest then brought it to her mouth, " Lucas and I have been seeing each other for a year and half. Lenny is just so stupid and blind, else she would have noticed."

Raven slapped her, baring her fangs at Scarlett.

A year and half, that's about four months after Lucas and I started dating!!

Four months when I brought him home to meet Atticus but found only Scarlett at home then.

My knees almost buckle under me, blood rushed to my ears, deafening every other sound.

I must have looked wretched because Scarlett's eyes sparkled with delight. She's enjoying every bit of this.

" You been seeing her sister behind her back and you didn't deem it fit to end it with her??"

" I have to take what she has to offer and Scarlett seemed cool with it." He shrugs, kissing Scarlett's cheeks.

" Are you saying you are going to keep pretending??!!"

" Sure... I have nothing to lose. Seeing her make a fool of herself makes everything even more interesting."

" You are a b@stard Lucas. The day I see you near Lenora will be the end of you."

" Tch..... You both are losers anyway."

" And you'd better stay where you are and not move about or anywhere near us." Raven snarled.

I recovered from the shock, I am even more surprised and grateful that my eyes are dry even with way my insides are burning and in a turmoil.

I was torn in between running away or confronting them without breaking down.

I decided on the latter and walk towards them without a growl, collecting a tray from a nearby waiter and flinging it at Lucas.

A shard of glass cut deeply on his forehead.

My fangs were out, I snarled at him, picked him up by the collar and slammed his back, pinning him against the wall.

" Lenora?" Raven was surprised to see me. I ignore her, focusing on my cheating boyfriend.

He seemed unfazed, didn't even try to fight back, as if sure, I wasn't going to do anything and it hurts to know he's right.

I could not do anything but stare at him in anger, pain, disgust, hurt. My eyes burned, I couldn't keep by tough girl attitude.

He noticed my weak resolve, the next minute he was pushing me off him.

I fell to the floor, landing on my butt.

A few people stared at us, watching our little drama.

" Come on baby, let's go." Scarlett growls. Staring me down, "she's not worth anything. We could try calling her for a threesome later on."

"Threesome?? You think she'll be able to handle that?" Lucas snorts, "She isn't even good with sex!"

"There is always a first time for everything, isn't there?"

"You maybe right."

"Come on, let's leave. Just the sight of her is making my insides curl. I think I might puke very soon."

"Oh, it's such a shame. I would have suggested we wait and watch how miserable she can be!!" Lucas smirked, " if I were you." He directed at Scarlett, " I would wait to watch more this, she is not better than fledglings. Watching her make a fool of herself is certainly more refreshing."

"You have a point there honey." Scarlett giggles, planting a kiss on his lips.

I stand up, let out my fangs in full display, baring it at them, my nails sharper. I wanted to attack them, make them pay for how they deceived me.

Instead I turned on my heels and went back to the room Raven had put me in before, heading straight to the bar.

Fuck them!!

Fuck everything!!

Tears burned even brighter in my eyes, my throat constricted.

" More!!" I yell at the bartender, drinking hard and fast. " Just give me the damn bottle!!"

" Lenora...." Raven was beside me. " I am so sorry."

"It's not your fault. I am just the fool here."

"Still, you don't deserve any of that."

"Tell that to the devil."

"Lenny...."

" I just want to be left alone Raven." I snap at her, unintentionally.

I felt guilty when she flinched, but thank heavens she did not protest.

I sat there, downing my sorrows, my tears began to pour, slowly and agonizingly, my insides was on fire.

The hurt and betrayal overwhelming me, almost making it difficult to breathe.

Once again, this is the end for me.

~ Devi Town ~

~ ~ West ~ ~

I hear Carter walk in to the bar room few feet away from the pack room. "Drinking so early in morning huh?"

I shrug in response, pouring myself another drink.

"It's 4am, why are you up?"

"I couldn't sleep." I tell me.

He claims the chair opposite me and pours himself a drink, "The witch is waiting."

"You found one already?" I ask in surprise. I know Carter is effective and loves doing things quickly but at times like thi, I fail to contain my surprise.

" Suree. She's willing to meet us."

I drop my cup, "What are we waiting for then? Let's go!"

"We have to wait a few hours though till I'm sure a trap hasn't been laid."

The cave is dark and has a dim light coming from deep inside..

"Is this where the witch is?" I ask Carter again just to be sure.

"Yeah" he nods, leading the way now.

I found the witch, tied up and gagged.

I cast a glance at Carter, didn't he say the witch is willing? Not like I mind starting a war with the witches anyway, they've had too many years of peace.

"If you scream again, I'll rip your heart right out, understand?"

She glared at Carter in response then at me.

Fear crept in her eyes the instant she set them on me.

She nods at Carter, not taking her eyes off me.

Carter un gags and steps back,

"You can tell already, yeah?" I ask her.

She nods frantically, tight lipped.

"Can you find the cure?"

"I... It is a pretty strong one, beyond my capabilities." She rasps out.

I turn to Carter questioningly.

He opens the mind link, "She is the head of her Coven and has enough powers."

"Darling, are you lying to me?"

"N.. no..."

"I'll give you three days to find a solution to break the curse, if you don't, a witch dies everyday till you get the cure." I pat her cheeks and walk out.

Trying a different method should work. Every wolf, both oldest and youngest I have met with don't know how to break my curse. I have done different wolf rituals, even tried the Vampires, yet nothing changed.

I can't live my whole life with this curse, one way or the other, it has to break. I don't care how.

"Hey, don't you think we should head back already?" Carter appeared bedside me.

"I have to be somewhere."

" Where? Where are you going to? Is this about getting solutions?"

"No..... who cares about that." I snort, "The representative of the humans asked me to come see him. He's opening a new club or so I heard."

"And you weren't going to tell me??" He sounded surprised.

"Sadly, I just did. I was going to save myself the trouble of listening to your lectures."

"You know how much that man hates us and how he still believes we are in his territory?"

"He'll learn to respect his elders soon enough."

"In the human sense, he would be your father!"

"Well, Yay! I'm an hybrid, not human!"

"You are not going to not go?"

I shrug, "Let's hear what he has to say."

"Cool, suit yourself then!"

I'll be taking the car.

He throws the car key at me wordlessly then disappeared into the woods.

I was still on my way to the said club when a text message came in from Carter.

"The guards are knocked out cold outside Miller's door."

I put one hand on the steering wheel and used my free hand to reply Carter. "And Miller?"

"Disappeared!"

This is the newest club in town. There's no doubt he wouldn't be here. If he keeps on going like this, I am going to seriously look for a potion that will knock him out cold for a few years.

I alighted the car with a frown. The first scent I caught is that of a Vampire. I look towards the direction I caught the scent.

Oh, they are two. One is happy and excited while the other look like she was just brought out of the darkness into light with the way she stared at the Club..

Just get in and don't stand there embarrassing yourself. As always, they are usually full of themselves.

Different scent hit me at once, all kinds of creatures are here from the faes to humans.

"Alpha West." A human with huge body build and could easily pass for a werewolf stood beside me, I was asked to escort you in.

I nod at him and followed him in. Reminding myself to search for Miller after the meeting.

~ Brujah Clan ~

Sabian paced around the secret room in his room, waiting for someone.

"Elder." Hitler entered the room, "You sent for me."

"Yeah, Hitler. There's an emergency!"

Hitler frowns, "what is wrong, Elder?"

"I got a message from them." Sabian rushed out, his eyes dark and angry.

"The Alchters?"

"Yes, them." Sabian confirms.

"What is it they want this time??"

Sabian walks tobhis collection of wines and took out a brandy creamy wine, "I think the question we should ask ourselves is why are they back after 10 years??"

"What does the letter say, Elder?"

"It was just a warning letter." Sabian pours himself a drink. "But we need to act fast before it gets out of hand and find out their mission."

"Yes Elder. I'll be on it."

"First thing I need you to to find out is their base."

"Okay Elder."

Sabian narrows his eyes at Hitler, "Remember, not a word of this goes out to anyone."

"You have my word." Hitler swore and left the room with a frown. He isn't so keen on delving into the matters of the Alchters again. He has a scar from ten years ago as a reminder of how brutal they are. The really live up to their name, Alchters, a combination of Alchemist and Hunters.

After Hitler left, Sabian sat on the swivelling chair behind a desk in his office with a sinister smile. He is going to catch them by surprise. They'll pay for killing his brother in their so-called process of purification of turning creatures to humans.
