The Gangster's Paradise

"How could you do this to me huh?" He said pacing back and forth. He was bound to get frustrated especially with the woman before him.

"I trusted you with my life and you dared do this to me!" He growled so much that, if it was possible the house would've shook.

"Please, I'm begging you Austin. It was a mistake!" Blessing kneeled down wailing like a widow. She didn't expect her husband to find her in bed with his brother. She was sure to die seeing the raging monster before her. It Was rare to see Austin this angry.

"I see it was a mistake... but with my brother!" He said as he shook his bitterly. His wife of 5 years dared to sleep with another man, that too in his house.

"Tell me, for how long?" He asked calmly. Shifting his to Jordan who had now wrapped a towel around his lower body... smirking at him.

"What does it matter brother?" Jordan asked in an 'i don't care' manner. Austin could feel his blood boiling.

"How long damn it?!" He asked as he threw the nearby vase on the floor. Blessing shook with fear. Her eyes are puffy and red from crying. The salty liquid from the eyes mixed with the salty slippery liquid from the nose. As she answered with fear.

"5 years," she answered, trembling. She waited for her death. Her breathing stopped.

" Hahaha!!...wow!!" Austin laughed as tears rained down his eyes. Blessing looked up at him. It Was the first time seeing Austin cry like this.

"Austin I'm sorry...please forgive me!!" She crawled to where Austin was and got hold of his leg...not caring whether her knees were getting numbed or not. She wanted her husband's forgiveness. He was not supposed to find out like this. She thought she had everything under control...

"Do you know what this son of a female dog did? That you proclaim to love so much that you cheated on me with him. Huh?!" He asked as he looked down on his pathetic kneeling wife. Saliva spread as he spoke...

Blessing looked at Austin not believing a word he said and then looked at Jordan who was smirking.

"What did you think? That I love you?... i never loved you" Jordan said as he looked at Blessing disdainfully.

Did she think he loved her?

Hell no!

"How could you son of a b*tch bang my mother?" She said clawing at Jordan who pried her off him. He never loved her. She was a means to end Austin.

"Let go of me tramp" Jordan pushed her aside and walked closer to Austin. Looked at his face. Arrogantly sizing him.

"And you know what I did brother?... I banged your wife so many times and it fucking felt good. Mhh!" He said with a cunning smile on his face. Enjoying Austin's red face. Austin's grip on the gun he was holding became tight. His knuckles turned white. As he saw red, right there and then he kicked Jordan ferociously...such that he broke the door and landed on the passageway. The monster in him was unleashed...

The maids gathered around as they saw the site before them. Their master had always been calm and composed. This was a bloody side. And even bloodier as they saw flying above the stairs and landing with a thud at the end of the stairs...

"You what!...I put my seeds in your wife's womb and boom! The twins were born!" The bleeding Jordan still had the courage to say anything as he limped forward...

He was a mess. The white towel had long flown the moment he flew above the stairs!! Nothing was there to hide his nakedness.

Austin turned slightly and looked at his wife...hoping whatever Jordan said was not true. But, looking at Blessing's bowed face he knew what the doctor said was the truth...

His world was shattered as he knelt down hopelessly. He had been a father to another man's children. With lightning speed... he reached the stairs where his wife was...connecting his hand on her neck. Forgetting the gun.

"Ple...please!" Blessing found it difficult to speak as her lungs lacked clean air. Never ever had Austin laid his hand on her. This was a new creature in her husband's body...

"Austin let her go now!" A voice came from behind him.

"You know this is not you...so.let her go!" Kamala stopped his friend who was about to commit murder. Austin left Blessing harshly as she dropped on the stairs and rolled a few times before Kamala could catch her...

"She betrayed me Kamala!...it hurts so much" He said as he knelt down...patted his chest. And cried hysterically. It wasn't all the time that Kamala got to see Austin crying. He signalled Blessing who was still kneeling, crying to go get dressed... but, she shook her head

"Please Austin, forgive me!" She kept begging even if Austin didn't forgive her she would keep begging until the resurrection...

"Weren't you a satisfied woman? I gave you everything. I cherished you and treated you like a queen" Blessing shook her head...putting her swollen face in her hands. Indeed she was treated like a queen.

"I loved you so deeply!... I even left my gangster life to be with you!...you(hiccups)...you... were my(hiccups)...my PARADISE damn it!" He said as he banged his fist on the cold tiled floor...

"Get out of my face!" He growled and glanced at her disdainfully. And prepared to launch at her again when Kamala stopped him again.

"Austin, control yourself! You can't go around acting like a monster and strangling your wife!" He slapped him hard.

"Of course I'm the monster she created! She has to embrace that!" He yelled so much that the veins in his neck popped...

What a despicable woman!

Blessing limped towards her bedroom.

What had she done?

Everything was shattered all because of her!

"Mr Austin Martin you're under arrest for the murder of Jordan Miller".

" You have the right to remain silent. "

"Everything you say and do shall be used against you in the court of law"

"You have the right to an attorney...if you don't have one...the state shall provide for you!" The policeman said as he resided the rights for Austin and put the handcuffs behind Austin and pushed him at the back of the police van.

Anastasia wailed as she ran after the van with her son inside. Everything happened and fell into pieces, all because of one woman.

She turned around to face Blessing...

"YOU!!..."

'Honey don't you think it's time you get some rest and give some quality time to your family?" Blessing, Austin's wife said as she handed him a cup of cocoa milk which is his favourite.

"I mean you have spent almost two nights, still sketching the best paintings...that you are to present to the investors on Thursday" what Blessing said made sense. It has been a week since Austin has started doing sketches...not like he had no employees in doing the work; by the wanted nothing but the best....that's why he decided to get involved.

And now that seems like a big mistake, for his wife was busy enquiring how thin he is, all because he had spent a night in the office.

'Aus! I'm talking to you' Austin who had his head between his hands, while propping them on his knees, continued to stare at the glass of cocoa milk which he had emptied a second ago...wondering when his wife would give him a chance to answer all her questions.

'I know Bless, you care for me but I need to crack this deal. These investors want nothing but the very best." Austin said after a lot of time being quiet. He was always awed at how caring his wife is. From being a perfect mother to a good and a good friend.

And with this deal...I think it'll help me in creating a distraction..."he said as he smirked. Blessing looked up from his chest where she had nestled a minute ago...to be precise she was 'forcefully' pulled in that warm embrace, to stop her blabbering.

"Come on, Aus! You can't do that!" she gasped as she stared at her husband's smirking face ...knowing exactly what Austin was talking about when he said 'creating a distraction'

"I thought that was in the past," she said.

"Exactly what did those people do to you? ...for you to get so angry whenever you think about them huh?" she asked what she had always wanted to ask since the day they got married. It seemed whatever they did to Austin was very cruel and heart breaking...for he always has nightmares from time to time again.

"You know you look so innocent for a person who is so cunning and knows how to manipulate others?" Blessing said

"But I still like to know when you're ready to tell me okay" she said as she yawned lazily...that's how she was, always ready to listen to him, even though he had hidden so many secrets from her. She respected his privacy and knew when to back off.

"Oh! My dear Bless! You are so innocent only if you knew..." he murmured as he kissed her temple lightly,

Austin, do you remember how we met?" she asked before she fell asleep.

Of course Austin remembered that day like yesterday...it was a bit funny at how they met.

**Flashback**

Austin was from running his daily errands riding his bicycle in one full speed not being aware of the car coming along facing him on the front. Since the roads in Lagos were bumpy and filled with holes ...he had to sway his bicycle to the sides to avoid being hit;

He only came to a halt when he heard a sharp piercing voice...raining curses down on him as if there is no tomorrow.

"Could it be that you're insulting me?" he asked as he walked closer to the little lady before him. She was dressed in a brown shabby dress, her hair a little brittle and her skin tanned from the scorching sun.

"Who do you think I'm insulting? Of course you...you damn stupid boy!" she said angrily as her chest heaved up and down from shouting. He had to take a closer look to see that she was a beautiful lady, with her curves in the right places...

"What is a goddess like you doing here at this time" Austin asked as he walked closer to her. She looked so innocent, with her round face and those beautiful grey eyes did wonders. The man who was to have her as his wife was lucky.

"Hey! Pervert what are you looking at?!" he came to reality when the little lady screamed at the top of her voice getting attention from the passersby and the people from the market.

"Pervert! Really?!" Austin raised his black eyebrows a little and looked at the diamond before him. Call him a pervert or whatever, but he was intrigued...he smirked.

"I can't help it lady, you are so beautiful that I can kiss you right now..." he did not get to finish his sentence as a tight slap landed on his face, such that it was tilted sideways.

"All I wanted was for you to apologise for splashing my beautiful dress with that damn dirty water...and now you are like those perverts out there!" she yelled and stormed away. Nothing made her angrier than people who did not know how to apologise. And that damned boy ruined her beautiful dress...now she was late for her painting class. hmm!

After leaving, only then did Austin regain his wits as he now understood what had happened...he thought the lady was crazy to rain curses on him for nothing...

"Wow!...interesting" he muttered as he wiped his lower lip with his thumb and lightly smirked.

And at that moment he knew he was whipped for life...

**FLASHBACK ENDS**

Austin carried his sleeping wife to the bedroom. He watched her sleep like a baby as he wiped her drool. He went to freshen up before he decided to call it a night.

He knew after the deal, there are so many things that are going to change. It was high time he settled some scores and decided not to live in fear anymore...It was high time he dealt with the people of the Trump mansion...especially a certain someone who thought they had everything under control.

Sighing, he pulled the blanket over his and his wife's head and switched off the lights...waiting for the new day to arise.

The day dawned crisp and clear, the bright sunlight seeping through the curtains...as the gentle breeze of the morning entered the room. Another day has dawned ...bringing with it new hopes and aspirations. Birds chirping. Blessing twisted and turned around the bed, as she fought with the blankets, trying to shield her from the blazing sun seeping through. She patted the right side of the bed, in search of her soft, yet hard teddy bear with muscles...only to moan as she smelled the cologne that wafted through her nose and has literally filled the room.

The cologne that always made her frenzy...she loved smelling it.

Tying her knee length silky maroon bathrobe; Blessing jumped from the bed and wore her fluffy pink slippers that adorned her feet and went into the closet.

'Morning honey!' she said as she back hugged Austin and rubbed her face on his back

Morning sweetheart! Have you seen my black tie? He asked. I just seem to forget where I've put it. He asked as he turned her around, facing Blessing engulfing her in a warm tight hug and kissed her forehead lovingly.

"Well here it is..." she said as tied on his tie. she went in the closet just to get it for him...nowadays Austin was so forgetful and she always saves the day. She just hoped nothing happened to him while trying to secure the deal.

"Aren't you a bit protective wifey?!" he said with a chuckle. Well he can't blame his wife, she always looks out for him and their entire family.

After a good morning, of chit chatting with her husband, Blessing made breakfast for the both of them. Today she settled for a grey sweatpants, a black crop shirt and white sneakers .Austin couldn't help but admire her toned belly and her firm ass...which made a perfect match to her curves.

He was set to go when she came running and settled in his car...only for him to kick her out. She whined about getting bored in the house since the kids were with their grandmothers. So, he gave her his black card to go shopping ...and the smile on her face was priceless. She loved shopping more than anything...which made him wonder if shopping was her second husband...

What a greedy wife!

He decided to get a wife, only to get married to drama itself!...

Leonardo!!... Leon...! Where the heck have you been huh?

'I'm sorry sir I was just preparing some of the documents you have assigned to me'. Leonardo said as he wiped sweat from his forehead. His boss was harsh sometimes...and whenever he called him by his name it meant that there was something wrong somewhere and had something to pester him with. And today was that day ...Austin had an urge to laugh at his personal assistant. He was too clumsy for his own good...He wondered how someone can be so clumsy and dramatic as a man

Austin kept his poker face Leon knew was just a façade to joke with him.

'Take these files and give them to the heads of departments and inform them the meeting has been postponed to tomorrow.' He said like a boss he was.

After running around like a headless chicken; issuing his boss's orders, Leon came back slumping down on the long couch in his boss's cabin.

"Here take this!" Leon crumbled thinking there were some other documents, for he was still closing his eyes. "When will you stop giving me..."before he could finish.

'If you want to die, die alone don't drag me down with you!' Austin snapped. For he knew his wife would have his head if he did not give Leon the lunch box. And he will have to spend the night on the couch.

Leon shot his eyes and behold there was the cause of Leonardo's mouth to drool...which was already happening. And knew his lady boss had finally favoured him. Although he knew the lunches and the goodies she always gave him did not come at a low price...however, he just wanted to enjoy the delicacies before him: he will pay the price later. He blessed the food and started chewing. He moaned as he savoured the taste of the food, reaching his taste buds.

Austin narrowed his eyes looking at the young man before him...hating every sound that came out of his mouth. And his obnoxious chewing added to his hatred, which he knew he was doing just to piss him off.

He knew his wife was a sucker of a good heart, and liked being good to people, that's why she's probably good with Leon. But, nothing came good with that wife of his, her niceness came with a price. Which made him think, what Leon has been feeding his wife...

She was way, way too overprotective of Leon and wanted nothing bad to happen to him; which is why he has to dread carefully towards him.

She liked him so much...but, at what cost?...

He looked at Leon who was busy eating...and one question came to his mind; which he blurted out knowingly and looked at Leon with his eyebrows slightly raised. His long fingers under his chin as he used the other hand to tap on the coffee table before him...for he was leaning forward, such that his elbows were on his knees.

He continued tapping as he waited for Leon's answer. Leon, who was mouthful, paused eating as he looked at his boss...who looked like he would decorate someone's face with colour red. And he knew he had triggered his nerves. He shrugged as he swallowed the contents of food in his mouth...he reached his homemade juice and gulped a mouthful...

He did not get to swallow it, as the liquid came out through his nose...and nearly had a nose bleed hearing his boss's stupid question. Yes he calls it stupid, such that he cannot even find the right word for it. He patted his chest to cool down and looked at his boss who was looking at him with those brown piercing orbs...definitely waiting for an answer to his question.
