CHAPTER ONE

Please welcome a young visionary whose fast-growing company is taking over Geneva.... Laura Hale!" An elegant reporter announced, And everybody clapped with a hand of a plus.

A young beautiful business lady smiles at the camera. "Thank you, Lilith, you are making me blush" Laura smiled at her wonderfully.

" Ah, flattering the Hale's heiress. I can't think of a better way to spend this Friday night" Lilith teased.

" You truly are something Lilith" Laura was amazed.

" So, tell us, Laura. Are the rumors true?" Lilith was back to business.

"The rumors?, Which rumors are you talking about?" Laura was confused.

"The tabloids say you have a mysterious secret about the Hale family. Do you mind telling us whether you are the true heiress of the Hales Enterprise or not?" Lilith was curious.

"Oh Lilith, I will never take you for a gossipy type!" Laura brushed it off.

"We all just want to know, Laura. Tell us about your secrets, did the Hale family adopt you?" Lilith insists.

"Well, there's actually no secrets at all, not the one I know of....?" Laura was plain.

Meanwhile, bag stage....

"what is she talking about?!, This is a big disaster. That means Miss Laura hasn't heard about all the rumors that have been spreading around, oh God this is bad" Josephine cursed out loud.

"I don't think we are in the right position to tell the boss that her sister Meredith is dragging her name to the mud, it might only cause more harm than good." Daniel was worried too.

"I know, I know. You're right" Josephine agreed with Daniel. " but this is really bad news for her. Upon all the hard work to keep this Enterprise growing, they just want to frustrate her just like that" Josephine was disturbed.

"Yeah, these will really break her down when it comes to her notice. She will be so worried to know she isn't likable enough by the family she thinks she has" It was Daniel who cursed.

"Why would anyone on Earth not like a wonderful and hard-working lady like Miss Laura, who on their right mind would even choose Meredith over her?" Josephine cried out.

"Josephine, forget the rumors that she's not a legitimate child, that is not the point because it doesn't count. She can still be the CEO of this Enterprise even if that was the case... I'm curious, there must be something else to it!" Daniel said.

For some time, Laura escaped the interview she had. walking towards her office

"Josephine, do I actually have a free evening? No meetings or interviews ?" Laura asked packing some files on her table.

"Well ma'am, Mr. George calls you all day... and you also have a meeting with the producer" Josephine quickly replied, still standing in front of her boss lady.

"Is this the same George from last time!?" Laura asked still concentrating on a file.

" It's the famous heir of the Beit Enterprise. It's not hard to guess why his calling. Why don't you answer?" Josephine suggested.

"Yeah, put it on speaker phone!?" without wasting time, Josephine did just as Laura instructed and the phone was placed on the table beside Laura.

"Laura?" the person from the other end.

'What a pleasant baritone....' Laura cursed inwardly.

"Hi, George?" Laura called out.

"Laura, I would like to invite you for dinner at eight tonight at Ta's restaurant. Are you free?" George asked.

Laura was absolutely available, but she couldn't just say yes. "What's the purpose, hope you are not just asking me out for dinner, are you?"

"I'd be happy to just have a friendly dinner with you. But you are unlikely to agree. So I prepared a surprise for a business deal in my Enterprise...so can I hope to see you" George sounded like a businessman.

Laura always loved business dealings, anything that could help her company to keep growing bigger was her interest. She was the heiress to the Hale Enterprise. With her business comes first before pleasure.

Since she took this position, The Hale Enterprise has become one of the largest companies in Geneva. "this is getting interesting. Just a second, I'll check my schedule" Laura told George with a smile plastered on her face. And after some time she told him "Hmm...Your luck has a window for the evening. I'll come"

"Thank you! I will be waiting" George said his goodbye.

"So how did it go, ma'am? Putting it on the schedule?" Josephine asked with her bright smile. "Yes, I'm busy tonight" Laura quickly answered but left the office.

Meanwhile at the shop.

Meredith, Laura's younger sister was busy shopping for new dresses for herself."Let us see what we got...." Meredith picked up a dress and brought it closer to her body looking at the fitness in it.

"Oh sweet! This dress makes me feel so confident and sexy more than ever, this is definitely what I was looking for!" she complimented the dress.

When she was done shopping, she left the store and was looking for her best friend Carolyn. After a few searches, she finally found her at the cafeteria. Carolyn was also the daughter of a big businessman."Here you are!" Meredith finally calmed down.

"Well, well... let's see what you have managed to come up with tonight," Carolyn said and Meredith immediately showed the hot dress to her. "Wow, this really looks beautiful" she appreciates.

"So?, Thought?" Meredith smile.

"Hm... thought?! What do I have to say? Oh poor Laura" they both laugh out loud.

"I'm also curious, I can't imagine the shock on her face when she found out about the relationship between me and Jackson her fiancé." Meredith smiles jaw to jaw.

"Wow Meredith, this dress looks good, I think you should try it," Carolyn said giving her back the dress.

"Yes I will, I'm planning to visit Jackson today, so this will be my option," Meredith said.

CHAPTER TWO

"I'm sure this dress will make you look like a piece of fluffy candy floss. No one can resist having a bite!" Carolyn tease.

"Carol! Nobody can resist my charm, not even Jackson" said Meredith.

"What can I do? After all, you look so yummy, Jackson will be infatuated with you. After all you are more sweet compare to that boring sister of yours" Carolyn said. "Its really amazing you have got your company Meredith, it's nice you have finally gotten everything you desire" Carolyn continue.

"Yes, and that bastard will be so shocked when she comes to know of it. By the way I have a big surprise for you when I come back" Meredith said.

"Really?, What is it?" Carolyn was happy.

"I booked a table at the trendies club for the evening! There will be a special party held. Friends only" the girls love party at their fingers tips.

"Wow, that sounds great. Love it" Carolyn agreed.

"Ok see you later Carolyn, I can't keep Jackson waiting!" Meredith carry her shopping back to leave

" you go girl, you deserve it" Carolyn said.

"Bye sugar" After talking with Carolyn, she drove and quickly got home, prepare and went to Jackson place.

Hales Enterprise.

After a while, Laura walked into her office with the most composed face she could ever pull and ignore everyone's curious looks. She took her seat and frantically pulling out the computer records and start inputting data.

Half an hour, when she sees that she was barely on the seventh page, she left out a heavy sigh when she discovered some documents were missing! Just then, Her phone rang .

"Yes?" Laura answered.

"Ma'am, Daniel is at your office door!" she reported.

"Lets him in.." She then end the line. Just then, Daniel came in and stood in front of Laura's table.

"You wanted to see me, ma'am!" Daniel walk in and find Laura looking at some papers. She glance up and pierces Daniel with her eyes.

"Good day, Daniel! I would like to point out that some important documents on the companies fortune has been stolen. Someone's has taken hold of them. And don't dare lie to me" She leans back on her chair and crosses her arm. Her lips are a thin straight line, and his eyes narrowed on the documents she has will her.

"I know, ma'am. And I want to point out, that I have worked here diligently and that I am aware of the impact of the evidence I have gathered!" He said.

"Have a seat, Daniel" With a shaky legs, he took a seat in front of her. "What evidence?" she asked.

"I know how those documents are important to our company, and I was very conscious not to loose them. So I activated the CCTV camera on the office, connecting it to my mobile phone. And that was how manage to know about the loose files and to get the evidence as well as the footage!" he explained.

"So, who stole them?" Laura asked.

"The documents we're not stolen ma'am, they were taken. It's Crystal clear, that your sister took hold of those files. The CCTV camera and the pictures I took, they give enough evidence..." Daniel said.

"But why, are you sure of this? Can I have a look?" Laura asked.

"Sure, ma'am" Daniel reply giving her his tablet.

With the evidence, it was true that Meredith has the files. Laura has worked for those documents for so long which is why the company is at it's top.

There's no doubt that Laura was brilliant. However, it was her business sense, not her talent as an investor, that clearly show her intelligence. Laura took innovation and made different clients in many different companies, which made the Hales enterprises.

"Daniel, what's this about?" she asked.

"I heard a rumor that miss Meredith is going to be the next CEO of the Hale's enterprise and the president is aware and has already approved of it!" Daniel explain.

"Stop talking.." Laura said and there was a brief silence before she continues. "I can't seems to understand all that's going on. I need to find out from the president and the board of directors!" Laura said.

"There's no need ma'am, The board meeting has already been held and the matter has been discussed already. I really don't know why Mr. Hale keep this from you ma'am, all I know is that you're the best CEO I've ever seen in my entire life..." Daniel encourage.

"You mean there was already a board meeting held? Then why am I clueless about this?" she asked curiously.

"Sorry ma'am, it was per the president's order!" Daniel reply.

"Ok, you may leave.." Laura took sometime to calm down her rapid heart and breath properly. She closed her eyes and release the breath she never know she was holding till now.

She will definitely visit grandpa Hale to talked about this misunderstanding later but right now, she wanted to visit her fiancé Jackson, she planned a surprise for him.

Jackson's apartment.

Walking elegantly to Jackson's apartment, Laura called out for the love big her life. "Hay honey, I'm here!" Laura called out but some minutes pass she still not heard any response which seems weird.

"Jackson honey, are you in here?" she call again. She then walk up to the bedroom door and heard a weird noises coming from the room. She opened the door and became stupefied.

"Laura?!" Jackson called out.

"Meredith?!" Laura was shocked beyond measure. Jackson bed was occupied by him and another woman!, Meredith, her own sister. Their clothes were scattered around the room in terrible disarray. "What the hell is going on here?! She asked.

"Why should I explained myself to you, you A-grade whore?" Meredith said out loud.

"Me, a whore?" Laura asked

"Hey!" Jackson stopped them.

"I have love and trusted you both! I worked hard for us Meredith! And here you are..." Laura could not believe her eyes for the biggest betrayal in her life.

CHAPTER THREE

"You bastard,... you should be crying now not coming here to mind our business. You are spoiling our fun you know?!" Meredith said out loud, with a smile plastered all over her face.

"What a shameless little sister of mine. Tell me Meredith, why on Earth should I be crying" Laura sounds as if nothing was troubling her for the moment which surprised both Jackson and Meredith.

" ha-ha ,Of curse you don't know..... I will tell you" Meredith mocked at her intimidatingly. " You have been demoted. Hahaha, yes grandpa demote you....you no longer are the CEO of the Hales Enterprise" Meredith sounds appeals.

"B.. But why?, I know that can't happened!" Laura was shocked beyond measure.

"But it has, already!" Meredith laugh.

"You are lying, why would he do that? I don't believe a thing.." she asked

"It's simple, you're not a legitimate child in the Hale's family... you're not one of us Laura. So the company doesn't belongs to you!" Meredith said and the touches Jackson on his chest.

"So, I see. That's what give you the right to sleep with my fiancé?" Laura asked.

" See, I was only with you because I thought you have something to offer but since as the only thing you had has been taken away from you, you are now useless to me. Laura look, you don't even have a family to call your own, So I suggest you better take your leave" Jackson said out.

"But...!" Laura could not finish Jackson cut her off.

"There's no but Laura, I have never for once love you...get that in mind" Jackson shouted.

Yes it's true that Jackson has always been her fiancé just by name. She always thought that it was due to work and busyness that has made each other not care too much about the whole thing.

Jackson has always been sending her different types of gift that money could buy and has only asked for a date once.... She once try to bring up a romantic relationship between them but he told her not to rush things till they are married and he was fine waiting for her. "I see, not bad" Laura left the room with a devilish smile on her face not minding to luck back the door.

She needed to stop letting herself stuck in a bad relationship, she needed to get out of it before it's too late. It's her fault that she tolerate this relationship at the first place... she really needs to get out of it.

She drives and stop at the Hale's mansion, walking straight in to the house she met her Grandpa at the suffer sipping coffee. "Grandpa, what's going on?" Laura asked sounded like she was in utterly shocked.

Looking up to her, he reply smoothly. "You're not wrong my dear, I have decided that its time for Meredith to take over from where you stop!" Was all he said cursing Laura to gasp in disbelief. "Why?, Because I'm not your legitimate child?" There was simply no trace of warmth in her voice.

"You are not far from the truth, but I think we should end it here for now" he said, and Laura was so shocked that she just froze there for awhile.

"Grandpa, you have not realize how worthless you are making me feel. It's really amazing that just your few words could just tear me apart inside." Laura was just at the verge of breaking out.

"I'm doing this for your sake and our company as well, so don't bother too much Laura . You can still work for Meredith if you want!" he said. The family that Laura has always thought and look as a safe place was now the curse of her misfortune.

Laura act as though she did not care about what ever her so called grandpa decision was now. She gave out the impression that this matter does not phrase her at all. But right inside her she was badly hurt. "Grandpa, I really doubt your intentions, I can't trust your words anymore!" Laura curse.

"Don't be mad Laura, I have always loved you as my own. It's time for what rightfully belongs to Meredith to be given to her" Laura could see the fake pity on his face.

"I am not mad, I'm hurt, there's a difference. So all this year's you have used me as a pun to grow your company!?" Laura asked. Now she has realized why her parents never have time for her. She has thought it was part of her training to be a good and independent woman and also the heir of the Enterprise. Everything now make sense.

Laura tried to masks her emotion, but some still spill so she needed to do something that can help her for the moment.

Although she feels bad for the breakup, but she took it neutral because his love was not all the really matters to her now. What really break her heart was taking away her dream. All that she has worked for has just disappeared in a thin air.

It's a curious sensation, the sort of pain that goes mercifully beyond her powers and feelings. Her heart is broken, all her hard work has gone in vain. Nothing matters to her anymore, it's the end of her happiness and the beginning of her revenge.

No matter how hurt she was feeling right now, she has the faith that, she will make them all pay and surfer the consequences of their own actions. It might not be today but it will happen eventually.

Laura decided to travel and relax her mine for the time being. She will enjoy being in a different environment for now.

This step could lead her to a rapid exhaustion of her budget for this month but she careless. It was better for her to take her time and make well inform decision.

Baba's Val club.

At a certain fashionable club, which was filled with people as if half of the city decided to hang out there tonight. The music was thumping as the party was full swing.
