The Forsaken Luna: The Alpha Redemption

Nymera's POV.

Darkness. This was more than the situation at hand in my family, it was like a Legacy. Thoughts of being without a wolf clouded my mind as I sat under the tree and watched the rest of the pack walk to and fro. Corner Black, the packs Beta moved in unison alongside the rest of the werewolves who were getting ready for the day training at the ground-x where the wolves trained weekly. I wasn't included because I had no wolf. Severally, I've been humiliated at school by my peers and mocked, my mother wasn't there to console me because she gave up the ghost minutes after my birth, and my father? He was so busy and couldn't have enough time for me, his one and only daughter.

Sunny was the day before us and lonely was the atmosphere around me while I sat underneath the tree. I couldn't tell what I thought of exactly, but knew I was just lost in thoughts. Dad had just left for work and the food from last night's supper wasn't enough for me.

'Oh, my stomach aches me,' I felt a rumble in my tummy. Perhaps, those were the warms. I decided I move closer to have a clearer view of the werewolves in training before I heard a shallow soprano behind me. I was moved and turned to see her. Lady Astra looked so gorgeous and had her usual purple linings on. Most people referred to her as the Purple Astra while some, the Purple Lady. It was her favourite colour and she was admired for that, plus, her wolf was a very crazy one, the Amber wolf; courageous, brave and fast. Standing right in front of me was like a dream. She was only 18 though, a year older than I was.

"Handsome huh? Isn't he?" She said with her hands behind her while I smiled and nodded in approval at the same time.

"Of course, he is, good morning my lady."

"Oh, please, I'm as young as you are and also a wolf like you..." she said, taking off her white fancy gloves.

I remained silent and ashamed at the same time because I was without a wolf, Perhaps she'll note that right away, she attended the same high school with me but was a senior.

"Wait a second, please don't tell me you're the blacksmith's daughter, the one they..."

She didn't need to complete it, I had a nickname at school, wolfless. I completed it ASAP and that said it all, the question was answered.

She stared at me and paused for a while with her hands clapping her gloves together. Her eyebrows raised as she beckoned to me right there.

"Please, pardon me, Miss, I had no idea you were the one, don't bother much, I'll make sure everything works out fine, you don't have to see yourself..."

"It's alright My Lady..."

"Astra," she corrected.

"It's alright Astra, I've taken all that behind me a long time ago, all I care about right now is looking unto the future, it's happened already and I'll need a mate to have my wolf back."

I looked too young for one, I was only 17 and had a few days left. Born on the 22nd of October, I looked forward to Thursday. At exactly midnight, I'll turn 18 and I'll be more than fit to have a mate, someone who'll restore my dignity and make sure I'll have my place back in the pack, but there was a problem, I've not seen any man who picked so much interest in me, I needed someone who's going to reciprocate such affection towards me and show me that he truly cares and is also ready and willing to guard and protect me no matter what. My brain played mind games with me to the point that I almost lost it, Astra had called me twice now and there was no response.

"Hello, Hello?!" She shouted at me after snapping her fingers before my eyes thrice.

"Oh, my bad, I'm so sorry Astra,"

"What's wrong with you?! What the hell were you thinking?"

"Nothing, I just..."

"You'd better get yourself in order, wolf, it's true you don't have one yet, but trust me, when the time's right, you'll become one of us, I promise you that."

"It's alright My lady," I forgot she warned me twice now so I had to change it since she turned to me with her left brows raised like she gave a warning sign. "Oh, Astra."

"So, as I was saying, he's handsome and charming, isn't he?" She asked while we both stared at the 21-year-old Kaelith Walter, heir to the throne of the Crescent Moon pack. His chest was broad and he looked so muscular. He had this pair of deep blue eyes which caught my attention every single day but I couldn't get so close to him. He was always surrounded by the guards and often snubs me when I greet him. I didn't look for so long, unlike Astra who looked so lustfully at him while she admired almost every part of his body down to the size of his cock.

"What?!"

"What do you mean cock?! Isn't he a man anymore? Is it a crime to possess a big dick or have a regular lady who admires them?!" She yelled as she touched her nipples slowly.

It was so crazy she acted this way and right in front of me. She turned to me and observed I watched her all along and smiled back. "Are you okay? It was meant for the finest warlords and also it had a meeting hall for the werewolves situated there. We were too old for such, who could imagine a 17 and 18-year-old jumping in between pillars and it looked more exciting as she shifted into her wolf form and made for the run. I witnessed her furs and also her canine tooth shoot out gradually, her eyes turned yellowish-brown and her claws grew out. She looked scary but not to me, I wasn't a total stranger in the city at least it didn't look irregular.

"Catch me if you can!" She jumped off to the stairs and I gave her a hot chase till I accidentally hit a gigantic figure who stood before me now. The rest of the werewolves stood in shock behind him while he looked down at me on the ground.

'Behold, the eye of the sun,' I muttered as I watched Prince Kaelith who stared directly at me. I grew dump, a teen girl who's gone short of words.

Kaelith's POV.

Her eyes were the most beautiful I've ever beheld. Brownish pupil and edged brows. Her lips were so pink. She was light-skinned and most of all, blonde. All I ever desired in a mate was on the floor staring at me.

'How do I tell her I was in love with her?' I muttered before Rodrigo, one of my men tapped me behind.

"My prince, she's obstructing our movement, we have to keep moving."

I signaled with my right hand and he understood. He needed to be silent while I had a one-on-one talk with the damsel. She shivered upon my touch as I bent to her on the ground.

"I'm, I'm.... Sorry, my..." she stammered and had her eyes off mine. Perhaps she was a shy little one, but I couldn't get mine off her, her cheeks and lips needed to feel the touch of mine. I held her and felt her soft warm hands. "What a beauty,"

"Please I need to go right now," she said as I helped her back to her feet.

"Are you scared of me? You don't have to, I'm a human just like you," I sniffed her hair and rounded her in circles while the men watched. I knew for certain Rodri wasn't okay with it but he had no choice, I was the prince, I was stronger than he was, smarter than he was, and they all gave me my way. No one dares interrupt, especially when I'm with a guest, a female guest.

I gave her a lustful wink and took her by the hand. "Come on, let's have a stroll."

Rodri stood out to me as a challenge right away.

"My prince, with due respect, you're going nowhere with her, she's just a maiden in the pack and her dad is a common blacksmith, she's got to be attended to later on, right now we've got a very important mission to attend to."

I felt embarrassed. My hands left the young girl now and I walked slowly to where he was with my hands dipped into my pockets. I poured out a comb of saliva which got stuck In my mouth seconds ago and cleared my throat. "You were saying?"

"Kaelith, we'll have to..." The sound of the heavy punch from me threw him off balance and he fell to the ground. I'd broken his nose already and felt sorry for him though, but challenging the Alpha prince is an offence and must be dealt with. I chuckled and turned around as the rest of the men there watched. They were terrified and turned, one to another.

"Anyone else?" There was no response, "Good, now take this bastard out of my site, you all should wait for me in the vehicle, and not a single word should get to the Alpha, or his Beta, am I understood?!"

"Yes, my prince!"

I felt glorified and adored as she watched me exercise such power. She had her hands clipped together and her gaze fixed as she turned to take her leave but I was faster than she thought, she needed to try harder some other time.

"Not so fast, pretty one, I'm not a monster, as you saw he challenged me and I had to show discipline, just like my father, the Alpha would have done, I hate to tell this wolf, but I think you'll be spending the rest of the morning with me."

"But, but, you've got an obligation with your men, you don't have to keep them waiting."

"Of course, I don't have to keep them waiting, that's why they'll have to carry on with their activities till I'm done, and when I'm done, we could head out to our proposed destination, so tell me, what's your name? You know I've been monitoring you for some time now, since I came back from Paris, it's been an amazing time there though."

If there was something I needed to do, it was getting her attention. I didn't need her to see me as a monster though because deep down I wasn't one either. We both walked side-by-side before I noticed her smile, she was getting eased gradually, perhaps she had this fear in her that had faded away but that wasn't the case because she made the conversation look even more lively.

"I love the pendant." She admired and touched it.

"What?"

"Yeah, it's beautiful." She smiled at me and most especially, at the necklace I wore, it was a customized one made by her father. She needed to at least praise her old man for a while.

"Your dad made it for me, wolf."

"Hmm, are you serious?!"

"Yeah, he did, I gave him a specific drawing and he worked on it tirelessly, he had it delivered to me two weeks ago, I think he's got ample time for you because he's going to be very busy at his job, lately he's got a very massive order from the Alpha king himself, you should plane proud of him you know."

"Wow, he never told me any of these, he's just too busy for me, barely has time for me, but it's fine, at least now he knows the reason behind his busy and tight schedules."

We walked down to my room. I felt her halt and didn't want to walk in even after I entered. I had no intention of having sex with her though, just needed us to talk and chill but she had all that misunderstood, perhaps she'd never had much time with any man before in her life, and maybe I'd be her first. I loved the way she stared at me, who could ever imagine such beauty in all circumstances? She felt tense in her stormy gaze yet looked even more beautiful. I'm never letting her go, I know what I'm feeling, it's a bond, a bond between mates, maybe she's my fated mate.

"Come on in,"

"I, I... don't think it's a good idea, My prince, maybe I'll have to..." I walked up to her held her arm so fast and drew her to myself. Our posture looked so intentional like we were actual lovers as she leaned on me and stared passionately into my eyes. Kissing her now was inevitable because I felt the world would crumble into pieces if I didn't take this chance. My head moved closer to hers and almost touched her lips before I heard her name beside me.

"Nymera?!"

We both turned to see Lady Astra watching in surprise with her hands on her waist. It was a stare of disapproval and disappointment.

Nymera's POV.

'Would she see me as being stupid or cunning?' I muttered as Astra walked closer to us. If I had my way around this I would have taken my leave but Kaelith was so stubborn. How could he just get hold of me in such a manner and now she's spotted us like we were actual love birds.' I muttered as I had my gaze on her. She stood watching the both of us without a single word for minutes while I fiddled with my hair and bit my lips in regret.

'Perhaps she'll not approve of this' I muttered again.

"Hmm, I see you both are getting along, Kaelith."

He chuckled and buttoned up his clothes. He wasn't even interested in the topic from all I saw but had to force his way through answering her questions.

"Getting along? What do you mean? we just met today, she's a friend of mine." From the way he sounded, it looked like he owed her an apology and perhaps needed her cooperation in this. Minutes ago he made it clear to the werewolf that he gave a punch never to spill a word to his father, the Alpha or this Beta, maybe Kaelith was scared of something which Lady Astra was conversant with.

"Friends, I see. And Nymera you left me alone all this while, I looked for you everywhere in this part of the building and you weren't to be found, thank goodness I trapped the prince's scent and followed it down here like I said, my wolf is very perceptive, I love you so much Amber." She said as she smiled at herself with both hands placed in her chest region.

"Nymera, you didn't tell me you had something to do with Lady Astra, perhaps I would have let you go."

'In your wildest dream' I muttered and pretended not to pay attention to him by staying silent with my expression conveying the message at the moment.

'You liar.' I muttered again.

"Hello, Nymera?" He called,

"Oh, I'm so sorry about that, I mean, we both played together and she was out of sight before I mistakenly ran into you and your men, I'm sorry I didn't say a thing like that."

While the conversation went on Astra kept on staring at me in smiles, it didn't look so real from all I observed because she could have expressed it too. How I turned out to stand in such a romantic posture with the same man she lusted over minutes ago was puzzling. I couldn't tell what she thought of though, all that mattered to me was walking out of their sight and heading back home. It wasn't a serious case but I felt so shy and unhappy I was in one, I needed to take my leave right away before the other students returned from school and mocked me.

"I think I should take my leave right away My prince, my lady." I took a bow as my eyes hooked on the ground and Just before I left, felt his hand hold me back.

"Ohh, not so fast, pretty one, you can't just leave like that, at least Astra should walk you down to your boulevard, isn't that right Astra?"

"Of course, I mean, she's also a friend to me, what choice do I have,"

I felt loved and cared for. It felt like the moon goddess had revived my spirit. All through my life I've been ridiculed and mocked for not having a wolf and now I'm happy again, the son of the Alpha of the pack just became friends with me and this was someone I admired, same as the daughter of the king's warrior, Astra Young. It felt like I was bound to royalty on the same day. 'Hmm, it seems the moon goddess has a plan for me after all.'

"How did you know Kaelith?" Astra Asked while we walked down to my boulevard which was situated in the Lower town. We've been silent for some time now and I wondered why she couldn't even say a word to me. It was obvious she disapproved of my union with Kaelith but I wasn't too sure of it though. Astra's smile sometimes meant otherwise and one wouldn't point his finger at what she thought of, she was so broadened to study as a person, coupled with the complexity of her wolf.

"I met him for the first time today,"

"What?!" She screamed in shock as she paused with her arms raised, though below her shoulders.

"Do you mean you met him just today and the both of you were caught up in such a complicated position, like lovers who had known each other for like a year or more?"

"No, Astra, it's not what you think, you misunderstood the situation, it was just a sad coincidence that you weren't there to see how I would've fallen to the ground."

She paused for a while before she laughed. It was such laughter of mockery that it got me pissed though I maintained decorum. She doesn't have to know my true intentions and concepts about her, after all, I just met her too for the first time, it was such a coincidence.

'But why would she act this way? Like she care or something? It wasn't a crime to make friends with the Alpha's son, and besides I wasn't the one who initiated the meeting, Kaelith did, I was pleased it happened though but at least Astra needed to understand.

"I'm so sorry I laughed that way, it's so amusing like you both are trying to make up a fantasy Bollywood piece right?"

"Of course not Astra, I'm telling you nothing but the truth, you could ask him yourself."

Astra and Kaelith lived in the royal Palace of the Alpha of the Crescent moon pack so we're quite familiar with themselves, Astra's father being the King's warrior had a chamber in the royal palace where he lived with his family and was a very close pal to the Alpha himself, perhaps that explains why Kaelith shivered while introducing me to her.

"So long! Wolfless!!" Two guys across the streets called on me and it got me angry. I felt so bad and that happened right in front of my new friend, Astra.

"Wait a second, are you the one they're referring to as 'Wolfless?'"

"Honestly I wouldn't want to cause any trouble My Lady, I think I should just mind myself and head home from here, you've done so much keeping me company throughout..."

"Such a wolf, those boys need to be taught a lesson."

"Astra, you don't have to..."

"Shh, It's been a while Amber had a taste of blood, maybe they'll serve as my fresh meat for the day."

"Hey! You two, who do you think you're calling wolfless?"

The boys turned and laughed, the first one fell to the ground and even rolled in mockery. They both got to their feet and walked towards us. My heart raced as I saw them. 'Humphrey and Findy, Astra, they're very dangerous, please let's avoid them, they've got powerful wolves too, I can't fight." I whispered behind Astra who grew angrier and folded her arms.

"I wouldn't want to repeat myself, but I asked a question, who the hell do you guys think you're calling 'wolfless'?"

Humphrey chuckled and spat in front of her.

"Who the fuck do you think you are wolf?"

"Who I am doesn't matter, all I demand is an answer, and I'll be needing it right away,"

"Kiss my ass bitch if you think I'll be able to respond to you, well of course, the human being knows herself and she's the most miserable bitch in this city,"

I watched her canine tooth pull out and her fur too, her claws all sharpened and her ears elongated, her eyes turned yellowish-brown, such a gigantic she-wolf.

"No one addressed my Baby as a bitch and deserves to live."
