Chapter 1 Alphas Meeting

"Alpha!"

The loud voice wakes me up from my deep slumber by the stream on the soft bed of grass. This was my private place off-limits to any wolf except Elriam, my Beta. It was a special place, my personal escape, my therapy from the nightmares that plague my mind during dark nights.

"Speak Elriam as to why this disturbance," I commanded lifting my forearm from my eyes glancing at her.

"Forgive me Alpha, but Alpha Lan has arrived." She bows. "I didn't want to disturb you Alpha, but it is sort of an emergency and you are needed. The meeting cannot..."

"Start until I am present. I know Elriam you have told me so a thousand times." I cut her off making her bow deeper. Slowly getting up wiping my dirt-stained hands on my pants, stretching my bones I look at her. "Let's go, wouldn't want to give a bad impression to the Alpha who has come." My wolf seeps to the front wanting to go for a run, pushing her back knowing now is not the time, showing a flash of teeth and a snarl she retreats.

We run back to the pack, gliding through trees, feeling the air brushing through my hair making me feel content. My form of happiness. But is this my happiness? My only form of happiness? Shouldn't there be something more? These thoughts go back and forth in my mind as we reach the pack.

"Alpha welcome, we had quite the wait." Alpha Lan says but I can see right through him to the mockery his voice beholds.

"Hope you enjoyed it, Alpha Lan." I will never apologize, it is not within me to do so. My Beta brushes against me standing strong watching him. I look towards some of his pack members huddled behind him not making a sound. I can smell their fear. Their fear of me. I smile a wicked smile licking my teeth, loving the smell. "Bring the carts." My voice booms in its autorotative tone as my members obey immediately propelling several carts filled with a variety of fruits towards his pack.

Members from both the packs lift their nose into the air inhaling the scents hoping that they would be lucky to perhaps find their gift from the moon. Something I don't understand, the idea of mates something I never cared to even think about. The power of being an Alpha is all that I need and ever will or so I thought.

My pack is known for producing the freshest of fruits that Alpha Lan's pack enjoys for his pack reigns from the desert lands where fruits are a luxury. The climate makes it difficult for their plants to bear them.

Alpha Lan walks up to me feeling content for the successful transfer. "Where is your Luna, Alpha Lan?" I question him knowing very well she is probably chained for disobedience back in his pack. Luna May's continuous defiance with this male surprises me. His eyes harden often sweeping over his pack members who are now transferring the fruits held in carton boxes onto the back of their trucks.

"She was not feeling well and is resting back at home." He lies.

"Please send my regards," I say holding a soft heart for her. My heart softens for all females.

"Of course." He leaves with a bow.

Dusk gives birth to night and our meeting has ended well, I do acquire favour in return for the fruits. However, I can ask whenever I please whatever it may be. A scream pierces the air my questioning eyes wander, looking for the source. A female slowly crawls away from her male, tears falling on her red cheeks. I move quickly holding the male by his collar and scream "What did you do?" My tone is furious.

"Nothing Alpha! She does not want me to touch her." I look towards the female.

"Are you alright? You must be from Alpha Lan's pack. I apologize, I was unaware one of my wolves found his mate." I say. With tear-filled eyes, she gazes up at me her head slightly tilting in a bow.

"Keep him away from me," she screams.

"I am your mate goddamit!" He replies rushing towards her. I stop him and call out to my Beta maintaining eye contact with him to prove my point.

"Elriam take this male back to the packhouse and do all the preparations." She bows and leaves with a quick reply of "Yes Alpha".

I look towards the female on the ground with soft eyes, "Why do you not want your male to touch you?" I question her.

"I fear him, I fear all males they have done nothing good but hurt me." She weeps. My heart clenches for this female.

"He will be different this I promise, he will protect you and keep you warm during cold nights for you are his blessing from the moon," I answer softly. "Go back to the packhouse and talk to him, tell him of your fears make him understand." She slowly gets up wipes her tears.

"Yes Alpha," she says and runs to the packhouse.

"Hypocrite," I whisper to myself, my wolf growling her displeasure of saying that about us. But it is true how can I advise that female of her mate when I don't myself believe in mates. I look up at the sky admiring the full moon asking her "What is happiness?" The question lingering in my mind. I feel Elriam coming close to me.

"Alpha are you feeling okay?" Her tone soft concern coating it. The only female I trust, the only female who is truly concerned about me.

"Yes Elriam, thank you for your concern." I slowly turn around to look at her.

"Alpha, forgive me I forgot to mention. The meeting of Alphas is tomorrow since you have recently become Alpha you have to go to this meeting. It's where all the Alphas from around the world meet to form alliances or ask protection from other packs." She elaborates.

"And why must I go to this meeting?" I ask her.

"It is beneficial for our pack Alpha, you need this. The pack needs this."

"Then so be it. Elriam prepare for our journey tomorrow make sure everything is planned well, I don't want any mishaps on the way." I command her. She smiles and bows replying "Yes Alpha." I walk back to my own house, I do no life in the room for the Alpha in the packhouse. I tend to not get along with other wolves though I really want to, it is hard if you had a childhood like mine you would want to disappear into thin air.

As I enter my house a feeling of calmness soothes me, my own haven. Going out into the balcony I look out to the pack, lights going off everyone surrounded by warmth. "Except me." The thought comes to mind. Gazing at the sky my thoughts take me to tomorrow's meeting. A sense of excitement fills me but I just don't know why nervousness floods me, my wolf is agitated as well wondering what exactly daylight may bring about.

Chapter 2 Alpha of Alphas

The sun is high, glowing and sharing its warmth to the earth. Sweat drips down my face, my mouth opens getting in huge puffs of air. My morning run helps clear my mind off last night's nightmare. My family that I killed coming back to haunt and torture me in dreams is something I need to get rid of.

Running back to the packhouse, I see Elriam smiling, waiting with a towel in hand.

"Good morning Alpha, how was your run today?" She asks politely.

"Great thank you Elriam."

I don't run with wolves unless it is necessary like hunting, I prefer to run alone. "Is everything set and ready for us to leave?" I ask her wiping the sweat off my chest.

"Yes Alpha, we may leave now." She waits for my answer. "Alright I will shower and get ready, then we can leave."

Keeping my bag next to me, I put my shades on and start the car driving first while my Beta and warriors follow me at the back. The drive takes about three hours including three stops for food and toilet breaks. Reaching the mansion I get down from the car waiting for my wolves to get ready and follow.

The air is filled with testosterone of Alpha males talking with one and another holding their Lunas. The chatter comes to a complete stop with an eerie silence as they regard me with surprised, disgusted and calculating eyes. They know me, they know of my battles and the strength I possess.

Straightening my back, holding my chin out showing dominance I walk through the crowd right into the hall of seats for the main Alphas and plop down on the chair next to the head of the table. Elriam stands behind me showing her strength looking from one alpha to another. I smile wickedly to the Alphas and whisper to Elriam "This is going to be fun."

With agonizing slowness, the hall begins to fill up each wolf holding different expressions whilst they regard me, and for any male that gazed longer, my wolf roared and paced within disliking their open thoughts of us. Unfamiliar faces and the curiosity about the owner of the seat next to me build up my anxiety to be in crowds and among unknown wolves. I take in deep breaths and encourage myself, asking my wolf for her strength and guidance.

A male's voice alarms us whilst his words boom across the hall to set me free from my thoughts, making my ears perk up to welcoming.

"Welcome Alphas. The meeting shall commence shortly for he is not yet here, therefore we shall begin when he arrives." I don't understand who this male is talking about.

Wolves nod in acknowledgement except for me. I do not know whom this male spoke about. Glancing to my left, I notice the seat is empty. It waits patiently to be filled. I am unsure as to why, but abruptly my heart pounds heavily with anticipation. Something is not right. A feeling that scares me but also leaves me breathless.

"Elriam answer me this, who is this wolf talking about? Is this male important?" I question her.

"Alpha he is..." She begins.

However, before she could finish her answer a loud slam of the main door cuts her off, startling all of us. Loud heavy footsteps near the hall, the sound of chairs screeching against the floor surge. Alphas leave their seats getting off their chairs to kneel upon the marble floor with their heads bowed.

Who is this male? What kind of power does he hold that even other Alphas bow, even before he is in their presence? These questions burn within the depths of my mind.

The door to the hall opens and a deep rich enticing scent drifts around to saturate the air, a warm scent that catches my attention instantaneously. This male who enters forces my knees to tremble, bones to weaken, my body sways side to side. I cannot think straight. All I see is him, all I feel is him.

A muscular figure comes into view and my soul is brisk to beckon him, my wolf pacing, wanting to be set free. She claws at her barrier urging me to unleash her. His bulky beastly body oozes testosterone and dominance sculpted to be the strongest. I can see why they fear him.

This male is mine; this male holds all my attention.

My body erupts in flames to the heat of his flesh that strides towards me only to lay his fiery eyes upon my skin. I slowly inspect him, from the tips of his shoes up to his strong thighs, over his tight shirt that shows a delicious preview of what is hidden, to his bulky arms, sharp and high cheekbones, his full lips and finally his eyes. He is truly bewitching.

An instant lust takes over, my core wet, wanting this male to rest between my aching thighs. He smells the room, his nose flaring sniffing to figure out my scent. This male does not understand it, my true essence. He takes another curt step towards me as though wishing to comprehend me; a sharp intake of breath escapes my lips. I welcome him promptly whilst my heart opens wide to embrace his but disappointment is swift to come to bound me.

The male shakes his head in denial and stepsback as though he were fighting within himself.

As though he is displeased with what the moon has gifted him with. No wolf saw our exchange, their heads bowed. His hands turn to clenched fists and his voice thunders in the hall making a few wolves whimper with dread.

"Why are you not kneeling female?" He questions, his voice unyielding and crisp. I am pulled out of my trance by his tone.

"I bow to no one but the moon," I respond baring to him the inner strength I possess and meet his flaming eyes without flinching. No one dares to mutter another word or raise their head yet I know they are waiting in anticipation. They are ridiculing my strength for they know this male shall make me submit.

Everything outside ceases to exist and in it only he and I remain. The entirety of my being leans towards him shamelessly. He has such a palpable effect on me from the heart and at the same time so irritating that it makes me lightheaded and weak.

His hands shake, a furious look burns in his eyes to his surging rage. His wolf wishes to come forward to the surface to hold and meet me yet this male opposes it. I close my eyes and raise my chin, waiting for what would happen next. He inhales deeply his chest heaving calming himself before he delivers his truth.

"You will learn, I will show you your place." When he steps close enough, the heat that constantly radiates from him envelopes me and cages me to him.

I tremble visibly to his words yet when my eyes flutter open, he has already sauntered past me. His wicked truth still lingering upon his godly face. Halting at the head of the table whilst his eyes wander through the wolves bowed down. "Rise." He orders, his authority surging and all the wolves jump to their feet briskly paying heed to his command standing upright in attention.

Whilst the Alphas' sit back upon their seats, the discussion commences at once. A smooth meeting that progressed wildly. The wolves present pay keen attention to my mate's words unwavering and engaged in the talk. Voices of discussion went one after another in the conference hall, every wolf spoke what they wished to. All except me.

I merely sit quietly in my seat and do not utter a word. I do not wish to be like this, but I just could not focus. I put in my every remaining energy to pay attention to what was going on but how could I when the male sitting next to me at the head of the table consumes my thoughts. I am sure to the other Alphas present I seem like a scared, pathetic fool. Only the moon knows that all I can think of is the male to my side, who is a fatal temptation to me.

His scent wraps around the entirety of my being like thick vines, my eyes rake down his flesh filling me with sizzling lust only to be met with his cold pair of emeralds. I could not ignore the tingles that sparked throughout my body, it is a new feeling one that I have never experienced before. I am no shy wolf I do and take what I want. Saliva pools in my mouth wanting a taste of what's before my eyes. My wolf agrees. His jaw clenches and he looks away. I don't, I like watching this specimen.

My feast is halted by a low uncontrollable groan of want that slips from his thick red lips. I stare back at him in shock, yet I regret my courage the minute our eyes lock and make love. Slow painful torture he begins, ravishing my flesh with his dark eyes whilst he clutches onto his chair, knuckles turning white with his control as his pants tighten showing the hard length of him. Everything about him looks deadly erotic. I am bewitched.

"Alpha Deimos, we want protection from the Japanese pack they want war." One of the Alpha speaks out. So, Deimos is his name. I want to say out loud how it feels coming from my mouth and his reaction to it.

"Come to my office later, we shall discuss this in private." His voice turns me on, I want him to call my name. He notices this.

The meeting comes to an end and wolves begin to disperse. Not me, I need to talk to this male, about this thing between us.

"Alpha we must leave, it is time to return," Elriam whispers to me. I ignore her, my eyes searching for Deimos. I do not understand how could he disappear he was just here.

"Elriam who is Deimos? Is he an Alpha?" My curiosity taking control of me.

"He is not just an Alpha, he is the Alpha of Alpha's." My eyes grow wide, something like that existed. My body trembles. What has the moon blessed me with?

Chapter 3 I'm Here to Take You

As I leave the mansion, my eyes continuously wander among wolves searching for him. Disappointment clouds me. When mates find each other don't they run into each other's arms, talk or at least smile. But this male that is supposed to be mine disappears into thin air. I get into my car with a heavy heart and drive to my pack, my wolves follow. I keep thinking of today's events the weight of my thoughts crushing me. What I failed to notice before I left was a pair of cold eyes looking at me from the balcony window.

The drive back to my pack seems shorter this time and my heart is wary of the increasing distance between Deimos and me. Deimos, my gift from the moon. What does he think about me? Am I exactly what he dreams about? Am I what he wants? These thoughts take up my mind, not wanting to think too much about him I open the window to get some fresh air to cool my hot body that heats instantly with the thought of him.

Seasons pass, summer turns to winter. Soft white blankets of snow cover the land of my pack. I don't go searching for him and he does the same with me. Perhaps this is for the best. I don't need him, I have my pack to take care of. A queen can rule better without her king, her word has power and strength.

Searching for Deimos sitting in my office, only to receive a blank page with his name. Who is this wolf? How can there not be even a single bit of information about him? This sparks curiosity within me. "Alpha, it is time for our females to birth their pups," Elriam says entering the office.

"Send for the healer and prepare the birth house," I command rushing out of my office, running to the birth house. The sound of screams and pups bawling hurts my ears, pregnant females lying on beds trying to overcome the pain of contractions. Their blood splattered across the white sheets of the beds.

"Please help me." A female's voice catches my attention, I notice no wolf helping her, all of their hands full with the other females. I walk up to her looking over, noticing the pup's head slowly trying to come out, catching hold of the pup.

"Push, you are almost there." She screams her pain and her eyes glaze over, tears leaking waiting for death to take her.

"No! Listen to me don't give up, your male is waiting to hold you and your pup, if you give up your pup will die. Look at me." She slowly opens her eyes looking at me. Sweat coats her forehead. "One last push, do your best and you can hold your pup in your hands." She screams the sound of her pup bawling brings life to the birth house. I put the cleaned pup in the female's hands, he snuggles to her chest mouth searching for milk.

"Thank you, Alpha." The female's voice cracking.

My eyes soften. "Keep him safe."

Walking back to my house, my walk is interrupted with Elriam running towards me gasping for breath. "Alpha, we have intruders. They don't seem like rogues, I feel them emitting high power. They seem dangerous we must take our warriors." I snarl, my wolf wants nothing but to kill. Who dares enter my territory without permission. I will kill them all. Running to the gate by the border, I see unfamiliar wolves growling awaiting my arrival. My warriors behind me snarling, puffing up ready for a fight.

"How dare you enter my territory without gaining my permission? Do you wish for your deaths? Answer me, what is the reason for this and perhaps my warriors will show you mercy."

"You."

The voice takes me off- guard. I know this voice. He strides forward from the shade of trees that hid him from me. He was watching me, my reaction to this. Testing my strength. His wolves give way to him moving to both sides to give him the way. I just stand there, my mouth is turning dry. I can't speak. I can't breathe.

"Deimos," I whisper, my throat parched. Licking my lips I question him. "Why are you here?" His stare weakens my knees, my heart beating faster, skipping beats. He folds his hands near his chest, my eyes watch the flex of his muscles wondering what it would feel like to be held by them.

"I do not like to repeat myself." His voice is emotionless.

"What do you want with me?" Chin raised, back straightened I ask him just like an Alpha should. His scrutinizing stare tells me he can see right through my act of strength I am trying to portray to him. He can see he is becoming my weakness.

"I am here to take you and your pack." A loud laugh booms around us, birds fly from trees startled by the sound. The laughter comes from my throat.

"That was quite funny Alpha Deimos. And what made you think I will do as you please." My wolf trying to figure out who to support. Me or her mate. He walks towards me, my warriors growl showing teeth ready to fight for their Alpha. I put my hand up immediately silencing them, curious to see what this male is going to do. He stands in front of me slowly leaning to my ears. His breath brushing the shell of my ears. My hands shake eager to touch his skin.

"I heard your females delivered pups today, their lives lie based upon your decision." He whispers to me. Fury ignites my body. I take steps back closer to my warriors. Who does this male think he is? Is he not my moon blessed? He would kill his mate's pack? My body begins to shake, my wolf wants his throat. We will always protect our pack, even from our so-called mate.

"You come to my kingdom and you threaten their queen?" I scream pointing at my pack. "This will not end well, it will end in war and chaos." My wolf showing her presence, she agrees. He smiles a smile that doesn't reach his eyes. It's sadistic, he likes my idea.

"Look at your warriors, now look at mine." He says while raising his hand. With a flick of his wrist, more warriors flood into my pack land standing behind their Alpha. The amount of warriors I have is nothing compared to his. It will cause loss and destruction. My wolf disagrees, she believes our warriors. She thinks we can take them. I look towards my pack, females holding their newborn cuddled under the protective arms of their mates. Can I do this? Can I put them in harm's way knowing the result as an Alpha?

"So tell me mate." Loud gasps are heard around the field. "Do you think this should end in war and chaos?" He asks quoting my words, knowing very well how exactly I feel at the moment.
