The Exploration

A thousand years ago, they say a world existed. A world of spirits and guardians but no one had seen them. Could this be a myth? or could it be real? The spirits were rumored to be in human form but can you tell what you've not seen?

This world is called the Orbs universe. A world, where no humans have ever stepped foot on. A world that's was starting to go into disarray because of the darkness that had come. A world that was doomed for eternity.

A prophecy was released before the orb's universe crumbled that some chosen ones will come to save the orb's universe but no one knows who they were.

"Light, light come here," an unknown person said to someone else who was holding a green orb. The green orb shines brightly in the dark but it wasn't enough to show the faces of the unknown. The green orbs as legends said were being told signify the indication of the presence of a human spirit. The green orbs serve as a human spirit in the orbs universe.

"Drop it there, it would travel far into years until it finds the right ones to bring to help save the orbs universe," the unknown person said.

"I hope the prophecy would come to pass. Oh, hear us green orb lead us to the chosen ones" the other voice spoke and released the orb.

For thousands of years, the green orb traveled looking for the savior that would save the orbs universe and this prophecy opened a new chapter in the lives of some teenagers.

It was a destiny they could not avoid.

Tiaraoluwa POV

Welcome to plan high school, a school for the average. It can also be referred to as a school for the poor; well that's what I'll call it with the poorly built classrooms and other buildings. It is what I'll call a school for the poor.

Our uniform is a red plaid flared skirt for the girls and trousers for the boys with a blue blazer, a white short-sleeved shirt, and a black shoe to compliment the uniform.

The school is owned by the government and over the years, there has not been a tiny improvement in the structure and infrastructure of this school. The buildings in the school look outdated and old like it was built in the 1800s and this is because of the government's lackadaisical attitude.

With different series of petitions and letters written to the government over the years, none of them got answers back.

This is my high school and this was how it all started...

"Guys, I heard a while ago that, eight students from our grade have been chosen for exploration with another school but I couldn't get the name of the school. "Daniel, a tall dark boy with a short haircut and glasses on announced as we walked into our history classroom.

"Did you see the names of those who would be going on the exploration and how do you know all of this?"Vanessa, my best friend asked. Vanessa and I have been best friends from diapers.

"Well, perks of being the school principal's son"He smiled and took a seat at the front of the class.

While waiting patiently for our history teacher, I decided to ask Daniel more about the exploration.

"So Daniel, why are we going on an exploration now that we are a few weeks away from graduating high school?"I asked because I just wanted to write my exams and leave this school.

Just as he was about to answer my question, the history teacher walked into the class.

"Well that a wrap everyone and before you go, I have an announcement to make." the history teacher announced.

Daniel turned to face me and mouthed "I told you so" to me.

"What's does she have to say today?" a boy with dark hair groaned at the teacher's announcement.

"Some boring history announcement I guessed" another boy replied to him.

"Listen up guys. the principal, after having a series of meeting with the government had agreed that you and another school are to team up For an exploration of the old museum here in langose "the teacher announced.

"Miss Linda ..." I raised my hand for a question, the same question I asked Daniel before she entered.

"Yes Tiaraoluwa"

"Why are we going to the museum? And which school ma'am" Tiaraoluwa asked.

"Well, it's an exploration where 8 students are chosen from two different schools to represent their school."

"Sounds boring"olumide a boy with curly hair said.

Well in plan high school, olumide is very popular among the student. He can be referred to as the most popular student in plan high school. I called him a bad boy because of his incredible height at 6ft and muscular body. Olumide is always seen wearing different head warmer to school and he has an ear-piercing. He is the definition of a high school bad boy.

"Nothing is boring about this olumide. Wait till you hear your name among the chosen" the teacher stated.

"I pray I'm not chosen to go to some boring exploration"olumide replied.

The teacher cleared her throat to gain the attention of the student.

"Now that I have your attention, the school you are paired with is Demini high school." the teacher announced and it caused an uproar among the student. "Silence!!! "Miss Linda shouted.

"Ma'am why demini of all school? They are different from us and they always look down on us" Daniel protested.

"Oh man, Daniel hates the school"

"Go argue with the principal Daniel, it her and thegovernment'st decision"the teacher replied with a smile. "Any other objections? "She asked and seeing that no one was saying anything she continued. "Well here are the names of the eight students that would represent our school.". She announced and everyone shifted on their seats.

"The first person on my list is sulli Abraham "miss Linda called.

A tall girl with long red hair stood up and walked outside. Well, sulli is the quiet girl in our grade. She doesn't talk unless she is being spoken to.

"Olumide Philips "

"Uh, uh guess the popular boy in plan high school is going."

"What? I don't want to go to some exploration that would make me feel like a loser"olumide refused.

"Well guess what olumide? You are repeating this class if you refuse to go For this exploration"the teacher declared.

Olumide scoffed and stood up from his seat. He walked to the front of the class with a frown on his face.

"Vanessa brown"miss Linda called. Vanessa stood up from the chair opposite me and walked to the front of the class. I guess Vanessa my best friend is going on the exploration. Looks like she is excited about it because she always had a thing for the guys in Demini High school.

"Mallorie Moses" a white girl squealed and walked to the front of the class.

Mallorie Moses, the school queen bee and the most popular girl in plan high school. She was a Russian girl whose parents had come to settle down in Mecianda. Although, she wasn't the only foreign student in the school. She was the most popular and everyone loved her for her fashion sense and beauty.

Guess she is also excited about the exploration.

"Tiaraoluwa Adedeji" the teacher called

"Wait, that's my name. Why was I chosen"

"Tiaraoluwa, to the front of the class please"miss Linda requested.

I had no idea why I was chosen but I decided to stand up and walked to the front of the class.

"Lucas Stone"

The most intelligent boy in the whole of plan high school. The boy is always reading something or speaking to himself. He is what you can call a nerd except that he doesn't wear glasses. I considered him cute because of his fringed hairstyle that covers his left eye giving him a bad boy look.

Lucas dropped the book he was reading on his desk and walked to the front of the class.

"Daniel Watson".

"Uh, uh. The frown on Daniel's face confirmed he wasn't too happy to go for the exploration. He hates Demini high schoolstudentst a lot"

"Ma'am if you could please remove me from the participant. I can't be a part of something that would subject me to mockery."Daniel begged.

"No one is going to mock you, it an exploration that's would last only for three days"

"Three days!! That's too long and far"olumide whined where he was standing.

"If you refused to participate Daniel then get ready to repeat this class next year"the teacher declared.

Daniel groaned and walk out to the front of the class.

And finally, our last student for the exploration is Jeremy Matthew. Well, I don't know anything about him because he was always silent in all the classes we've had together but Jeremy smiles a lot and anytime he smiles, his cute dimples show which makes him more charming.

"There you have them, The eightstudentst that would be representing us in the exploration"Miss Linda announced and the rest of thestudentst clapped.

"Okay, okay so guys the exploration is coming up in two days. Mr. Ryder and I are in charge of the exploration. Any questions?"

I raised my hand to ask a question because I needed to know about the accommodation of everyone and the taking-off point.

"Yes, tiara, what do you have to say?"

"Ma'am what's about accommodation and the bus we would be taking for the exploration cause the last time I remembered, we don't have a school bus."

"Well, that's a good question tiara but I'm happy to announce to you all that we are using Demini high school bus."

"What?"The eight of us all asked at the same time...

"That's is not all students. The accommodation and feeding are being taken care of by Demini high school."

"What!"Daniel shouted at this time. "Ma'am please, it better not to go for this mockery of an exploration. Can't we team up with a school of our category like maleni high school" he said.

"As I said earlier Daniel, go ask the principal about that. You all should be happy that you are teaming up with a prestigious school like Demini high school. Since there are no further questions I'll see you all in two days. Have a lovely day" miss Linda packed her belongings and went out of the class.

Everyone walked back to their seats and talked about the trip.

Welcome to demini high school, a popular school in mecianda, situated in langose, the capital city of mecianda.

A high school for the rich, elite, and popular kids of mecianda. the heiress, heirs, future CEOS, and celebrities. The school is for them.

Our uniform consists of a red jacket, red tie, white short sleeved shirt with a black pencil skirt and black tights for the girls and dress pants and belt for boys, with a black shoe to compliment the uniform.

The school is owned by my father, Gideon Johnson. We don't get along because he never had time for me. Let's not get into my boring story...

"All senior students should come to the meeting hall please, I repeat all senior students should come to the assembly hall please"the principal voice resounded in the hallway of the senior year students.

"What's does the principal has to say? Cause the last time I checked, we don't go to the assembly hall except for some events."Tristan, my best friend commented as we walked to the hall.

"You know something, guys.."Hillary bites into his chocolate cookies before he continued. "Maybe the principal wants to announce a big party with lots and lots of foods"

Hillary is my other best friend and a foodie. He eats anything called food and sometimes I do wonder why I'm friends with him. Well, people call us the triple three cause we are always seen together and we were popular in langose. Paparazzi follow us around like a lost puppy trying to get a hint on what happened in our lives. We were the most popular students in Langose so I have heard.

"Let's go find out what the principal has to say, "I told them and we all walked into the assembly hall.

"Welcome senior student"the principal miss captain, a woman in her mid-fifties greeted as all the students settled down in the hall that was large enough to accommodate a thousand students. The three of us sat down at the front row that was reserved for us.

" The CEO of this school and the board of directors had decided to pick our best 9 students to team up with another high school on an exploration to the ancient museum here in langose" the principal announced

"Old museum!!, what the heck?" The student began to murmur amongst themselves.

"Silence!!!!!" The principal shouted for them to stop talking.

Someone raised their hands among the student.

"Yes Courtney, do you have anything to say? "The principal asked a short girl who stood up and asked her question.

"Principal ma'am, who are we teaming up with? "She asked and sat back on her chair.

"You are teaming up with plan high school" the principal announced.

"Plan!! " someone shouted from the crowd.

"Principal ma'am with all due respect that's is the lamest thing I have ever heard. "Alexa the queen bee of demini high school commented.

Well, Alexa and I had a thing going on for a while until I decided to break it off but, she still thinks I'm her boyfriend.

"There is nothing lame about what I have just said Alexa"Miss captain replied.

"We can't go with plan, they are the worst school ever. If you could please speak to the board of directors or whatever to change this lame idea of going on an exploration with a stupid school like plan. Even their name sounds boring. Plan!! Urgh "Alexa scrunched her face in disgust.

"Perhaps you could be of help since your mother is part of the boards." ms captain raised a brow as she speaks to Alexa, Alexa rolled her eyes in annoyance and sat back on her seat.

"Any other objections... "Nobody raised her hands so miss captain continued.

"Since nobody is complaining, here is what the exploration is all about... Nine students are representing the demini senior student. It's a three days expedition so be prepared."

"Can you call the names already ms captain, some of us have things to do"someone from the student complained? Ms captain eye the student through her glasses and continued what's she was saying.

"Here are the names of the nine students representing our school.

"Henrietta future. "She called the first name and everyone turned to look at a girl who sat down alone with her nose buried in her book. "Henrietta please come on stage.".

Henrietta looked around to see if the principal was calling someone else. Henrietta's future is Hillary's twin but they rarely talk. While Hillary is popular, Henrietta was the invisible one. Her nose is always buried in her books.

"Make sure you don't fall as you walk nerd "Gary, the school trouble teased as Henrietta walked to the stage"

"I hate the guy a lot"

"Melody Donovan "the principal called, a girl sitting beside Alexa groaned as she stood up.

"What the heck? Why will they choose me for this stupid exploration with a stupid school". Melody complained and walked to the stage and stand beside Henrietta.

"Tristan Dion "the principal called, Tristan looked up from his phone was gave the principal a what look.

"Well looks like my best friend is going on the exploration."

"Yes I'm talking to you Dion get on the stage please"the principal called.

Tristan hissed and stood up from his seat and walked to the stage, he took a stand beside melody who drools and stares at him like a lost puppy. "She has a crush on him"

"Sola Raymond" the principal called. A guy with dreadlocks stood up from where he was seated. All I know about sola is that he doesn't talk too much and the only person he moves around with was his girlfriend.

"Bianca Clinton " ms captain called, the crowd clapped as a girl stood up.

"A great couple combination"some guys whistled at her.

Bianca is Sola's girlfriend and the two of them being together in an exploration made the crowd amused. Our school sure knows how to pick their students.

"Ms captain knows how to pair two lover birds together, a great exploration this is"Gary joked again and fist-bump a guy beside him.

"He is trouble"

Ms captain cleared her throat and continued. "Hillary future"

"Me? "Hillary asked as he bites into a bar of chocolate in his hand.

"She is talking to your shadow future" Gary commented.

"Well, clearly you don't have to let out your frustration because you weren't chosen Gary"Hillary replied to him and walk to the stage.

"Tamilore Johnson" the principal called.

"Tamilore what? This must-have being my father's ideal."

"The principal decided to add the triple three to the exploration!!, the principal is a good combiner ". Gary commented again.

"That's was a rude comment, another word from you, and it detention for a week"ms captain warned. "Tamilore Johnson the stage please "she called but I pretended I didn't hear anything until a boy at my back decided to tap me.

"What?"I glared at him and he quickly apologized

"You are needed on the stage Johnson," the principal said through the microphone that's was in her hand.

"Why I'm I needed on the stage ms captain, "I asked in a low tone.

"It appears that's you haven't been listening to all I had been saying, well for this you are leading the exploration ".

"What's exploration?? "I questioned pretending I didn't understand what the principal was saying.

The principal gave no reply and pointed on stage, "I'll like it if you could get on stage, or should I call your father and tell him you've refused to represent his school"ms captain said more like a threat.

I hate when she uses my dad to threaten me but I had no say in this so I swallowed my pride and went to the stage.

"Next is Garry Williams"the principal called, Garry laughed as he walks to the stage.

"Looks like I'm chosen for the great exploration" he announced and his friends clapped for him.

"This exploration is going to be a stupid one"

"Finally... The last student to go for the exploration is... "The remaining student shifted on their seat as they waited for ms captain's announcement. "Alexa martins. "

"Alexa what? I'm not going on a stupid exploration "Alexa refused.

"Say that when you see your mum" the principal replied. "Get on stage Alexa".

Alexa scoffed and walked to the stage, she glares at a boy who was staring at her.

"Look at me again and I'll pluck your eyes out" she threatened.

"She could be very aggressive"

"Well, there you have them, the student representing us at the exploration with plan high school. You all are meeting up with plan high school and the teachers in charge of this exploration are Mr. Adams and ms Diana. "

"Two days? that's too soon!! "Melody complained.

"At least you could have paired us with some other schools not plan!! "Alexa muttered under her breathe.

"If you have anything to say, Alexa, might as well just say it now or tell your mother later." seeing that Alexa wasn't saying anything else ms captain continued. "That's is all senior student you are all dismissed."

The student all stood up and walked out of the hall murmuring as they go.
