It was the first time since Alex's birth that I was able to rest and start my work a little later. I was alone in the palace. Well, if you take away the 600 employees who were working there at the moment. While I was reading Allan Pham's latest novel, "You Smell Like a Dead Rose," there was a knock on my office door. My butler, Kurt, walked into the room, greeted me and told me why he had come. Kurt was a 46-year-old man who had been working at the palace since my sacrament. He had quickly worked his way up the ranks, and was now the chief butler of the Imperial Palace.

- "Excuse me for disturbing you, Madam, but it will soon be time to leave for the Council of Kings. I would also like to remind you that afterwards, you will have lunch with your mother. Then to finish, you have the Council of Ministers".

I sighed following the announcement of my schedule for the day. Being the Empress is not an easy task and sometimes I wish I hadn't become one. Nevertheless, caring for my people gives me a valid reason to feel useful, and I try my best not to make mistakes. Although every once in a while a mistake can be a positive thing. I waved to Kurt that he could go, and went to my bathroom to get ready. I wore a pastel pink dress from Athanase & Anastasia, light purple pumps from Augustus and a matching bag from Virtuose. I decided to put only mascara and a small touch of lipstick to perfect my outfit, then I left in the direction of the palace entrance. Arriving at the stairs, I contemplated the portrait of Thetia Kestle, my ancestor and the creator of this Empire. In this painting, she must have been in her twenties. Her young and sweet face made her look like she was barely 16 years old, but she had this aura of maturity and respect all around her. Everything looked perfect when this portrait was painted, but was it really?

- "The truth will soon be revealed dear creator..." I whispered.

The guards in the entrance greeted me and opened the door, before escorting me to a car where Luke, one of our bodyguard drivers, and Kurt, who was going to accompany me, were waiting for me.

- "Good morning Madam, I hope your morning went well! "Luke said to me while starting the car with the tinted windows".

- "Good morning Luke, it went by too fast if you ask me. I wish I hadn't done anything today. But hey, it's my duty to keep this Empire in order".

Kurt gave me some administrative documents that I leafed through and completed as I waited to arrive south of Thetia, at the Palace of the Kings where the leaders of the Kingdoms and Counties of the Empire were waiting for me. The Palace was a huge residence dating from the 18th century. Inside, the Council of Kings and Counts took place, but also the meetings of crisis. The house was also used as a lodging for the Kings and Counts on their travels to Thetia, when a crisis meeting lasted several days, weeks or even months. After an hour, I finally arrived at my destination. I felt that the Council was going to be longer than expected with what I was going to tell them...

We reached the Palace of the Kings at 11:30 am. My escort accompanied me from the entrance of the Palace to the inside of the Council Chamber. The large main door opened, and I walked to my seat in the center of the circle. The table was in the shape of a circle, where each King and Queen had in front of him buttons for voting, a microphone, refreshments, and a small fan. Everyone bowed to me, and two of my guards came and positioned themselves behind me. As for Kurt, he left for the butlers' lounge in the west part of the palace.

- "Thank you for being here for this new assembly of Kings and Queens. Let's start the meeting with news from each Kingdom and County. Sir Bentley Of Hatopia, would you do me the honor of beginning?"

- "With pleasure, Your Majesty. So since the new reform, which consisted in creating small businesses in partnership with giant companies, the unemployment rate has fallen sharply. At the beginning of 2018, it was 10.5% and now it is 6.8%. If we continue on this path, I sincerely believe that by the end of the year we will be around 5%.

- "I am delighted to hear that! Who's next?"

A hand rose to my right: it was Lady Sherley Mosley, Countess of Phuram. She was the youngest of the assembly, 27 years old she was.She had recently ascended to the throne after Sir Charles Mosley, her father, was diagnosed with a cancer, and was unable to continue to exercise his duties.

- "I will speak, Your Majesty. Nevertheless, I do not really have anything important to share with you, for the life on Phuram is rather quiet and without serious problems. I wanted to ask you a question: what are you planning to do for Princess Rila's birthday party? She is going to have the majority, isn't she?"

- "It reassures me that everything is going well on Phuram, it also means that you are up to your new role. Regarding my daughter Rila's birthday, indeed there will be a party and you are invited, because she is going to be my heiress and when the time comes, she will need you and you will need her. Are you asking me this because you have any suggestions for me, Lady Mosley?"

- "Not at all, Your Majesty, forgive me if I have asked a question out of place. Recently, I heard within the walls of my residence that the Princess did not want to celebrate it, whereas this is a major event".

For another hour, each Kingdom and County shared their information and important events that had taken place in their country. Then came the turn of the two Counties at war, Goston and Youmor. The two leaders of these Counties were two men of the same blood, their ancestors were brothers. In the 1910s, Goston and Youmor were united into a single county. When Earl Henry of Welch died, his two sons fought for the control of the territory. The Empress, my grandmother's mother, made the decision to cut off the County, and the two brothers took back part of it. Nevertheless, it didn't stop the two brothers from starting a war that cost the lives of almost 100,000 people. My grandmother, Mrs. Octavia Kestle, sent troops from the Imperial Army to protect the inhabitants and to dissuade the two brothers from continuing. Nothing could be done about it. There have been tensions and confrontations on the county border since 1910. Nowadays, the conflicts have been hushed up, however, when the news of the nationality of my husband Ernst Kestle was revealed to the public, Goston's hatred of Youmor grew. Indeed, the Emperor was originally from Norbury, a town located in the north of Youmor. Together with Tregaron, Norbury were Youmor's largest cities in conflict. Goston took my marriage with Ernst as a betrayal, and Youmor as a victory. Nevertheless, it had nothing to do with it. Of course, my husband was defending his home town, but in no way supported this war.

- "I'd like to get the human toll of Goston and Youmor for this semester."

The Assembly fell silent at the change in my tone of voice. The first hours were filled with gaiety and joy, but I was not laughing. My objective was to put an end to this conflict before my daughter took over. This was going to be a difficult task, since each Count was more stubborn than the other. Neither Earl Clint Welch Of Goston nor Earl Gregory Welch Of Youmor dared to reply. They knew that if they answered me, I would get angry. The problem was that I was already angry, not rather furious. Seeing that none of them were going to speak, I asked the others if they had any information, especially the Military Kingdoms such as Saratis and Osaris.

- "Sire Darren Elliot Of Saratis, do you have any information that could potentially answer my question?"

- "Yes, Your Majesty.Three months ago, we deployed new troops near the border of the two counties, more precisely in the town of Doneton which was particularly impacted. One of our lieutenants reported to us that troops from Goston had used chemical weapons, including gas, on several towns and villages on the border".

- "I also got the same information from our troops stationed around the border. The number of victims is increasing day by day. In the last six months, we had recorded about 10,500 civilian and military casualties. In this semester, the number has doubled".

I turned to the two counties concerned hoping for explanations, but as I expected, I was greeted by silence.

- "Sire Eliot Of Saratis and Sire Chad Pittman Of Osaris, do everything you can to get information on these chemical weapons, and you will report them back to my brother."

- "At your orders, Your Majesty!"

- "May I say something else, Your Majesty?"

- "Go ahead, Sire Derrick".

- "I think that since March or even April, the cities located in the East of the counties in the conflict zones are more and more affected. There have been bombings that could be heard from Algan".

- "All right, thank you for telling me that, Sire Derrick Wolf Of Emphasa. I would like to warn Youmor and Goston, I will end your conflict this year whether you like it or not. We are going to toughen our containment measures, so you had better find some common ground quickly. If there's no improvement by August, sanctions will fall".

- "It's not fair! There is no way we would collaborate with such bloodthirsty brutes Your Majesty!"

- "Count Gregory Welch Of Youmor, don't make me repeat myself."

- "Why August your Majesty? It is much too short!"

- "My reason... I will open our borders Earl Clint Welch Of Boston."

Once again there was silence in the room, and looks of incomprehension and confusion came over me. I explained to them in more detail my project that had been troubling my mind for several years now. I had several fears about this exposure to the world, such as the fact that we are not accepted, that we are discriminated or that they are trying to attack us.

- "I agree with you. In fact, for many years now, I've been hearing my children who are in university questioning our origins and the hypothesis that we're not the only ones."

- "I understand the opinion of Mrs. Faith McMillan Of Prucan, but what would we do if he attacked us? If this immense Empire of Edios attacked us? Do I need to remind you that we are about 80 million inhabitants and that on Edios, there are 900 million! And on Acora 1 billion!"

Everyone lifted the box with the two voting buttons. One was blue for "approve", the other white for "neutral" and the other red for "refuse". When everyone had finished voting, I turned on the video projector and the results were displayed: 16 for, 0 neutral and 0 against. It had never happened that everyone agreed, but it meant that they were all willing to take risks to ensure the influence of our Empire.

- "I'm surprised but pleased. Let's not waste any more time, this afternoon I have a meeting with the ministers and I will talk to them about this project that you all approved. As soon as it is approved, I will make a special interview that will be broadcast throughout the Empire by Monday, June 24. Following this announcement, I will open secret files of the Imperial Archives on the origins of this Empire and I will publish on social networks and in the press Thetia Kestle's Diary "

- "Historians are going to have a lot of work, and I don't even want to imagine poor Josie Sykes having to remake all the school curricula with the Imperial Education".

Our butlers came back to pick us up so that we could each go back to our jobs. Kurt told me that he had made a reservation at the Jewelry for lunch with my mother. On the way there, I couldn't help but smile with joy that the news had been well received. The restaurant Le Joyau was located on the top three floors of a skyscraper owned by businesswoman Susan Bramer. She was currently the CEO of Youtube, a streaming platform imported from Edios. She was one of the few people who were able to leave the Empire to bring information and technology back to the Empire, so that one day we could reveal ourselves and be ready to deal with any consequences. On Edios, she had worked at Youtube headquarters as Director of Data Sciences. When she came back to Thetia, she had gained in maturity, experience and knowledge, and it is thanks to these, as well as a team of computer scientists, engineers, web designers and so on, that she managed to recreate this network in 2008. In the beginning, it was not much used. Then, as more and more young people became interested in its existence, it became a hit. Of course, as long as we weren't open to the world, the number of subscribers was limited, but that was all going to change. Susan received a lot of investment and was able to build her own skyscraper where the head office is located. There are currently over 1500 employees. In 2017, she decided to rent out the top three floors that were usually used as a cafeteria. Erwin Brock, our former chef, took this opportunity and opened his sixth restaurant. I was in love with his cuisine, simple yet refined. I ate lunch at Le Joyau at least two or three times a month.

Once I arrived in front of the building, my guard was replaced by bodyguards, six to be precise. We entered through a passage reserved for VIPs to avoid being noticed. We took the reserved elevator which leads us to the last floor that we had privatized. Every time I went to a place, alone or accompanied, members of the Flamboyant Army carefully inspected the place to make sure it was perfectly secure. My mother, Vera Kestle, was sitting at a large table in the middle of the reception room. I signaled to the bodyguards that they were free to go, and despite their reluctance, they left, leaving us both behind.

- "You took a long time to come. I thought I was going to eat alone"

- "I had a Council of Kings and Queens, and with what I told them, it lasted a little longer."

- "What did you speak about with them?"

- "The opening of the borders"

At a moment my mother was about to bring a canapé to her mouth, she froze after my answer. During her reign, my mother already had the idea of opening our borders, but because of the conflict between Youmor and Goston, she was forced to stop her project. My mother's reign didn't last long, at least compared to that of my grandmother Octavia Kestle. Indeed, she was not a direct descendant of Thetia, but her husband, my father Clayton was. However, since the creation of this Empire, only women could lead it. Thus, when the descendant Empress had no daughter, it was the wife of the heir who would rule. But it was not to be believed that she would rule everything, all alone. It was a kind of co-governance. Everyone had a precise role.

- "So, the day has finally arrived... "

- "You must have seen it coming, we couldn't escape from it. It was either me or Rila who would have done it".

- "How do you think the people will take it? The fact that their origins have been hidden since the 13th century".

- "I am prepared for any eventuality and I know the next few months will be intense. Nevertheless, as a mother, I prefer to take the criticism rather than my children.I want Rila to ascend the throne in a favorable atmosphere and for the Empire to have even more means to prosper, and I sincerely believe that revealing the origins of our Creator is the best thing to do".

- "I will not contradict you Odessa, you are the Empress. However, you know me, I'd rather be pessimistic than optimistic like so-

- "If the result is negative, you wouldn't be disappointed, and if it was positive you would be delighted".

-"When are you going to send a letter to the King of Edios?"

- "Maybe after the Council of Ministers. However, I think there is no longer a King. According to the latest news from our correspondents on Edios, they now have a Parliamentary Monarchy. But the major royal families: the Angelli family, the Arberel family, the Vassethier family, the Knightford family, the Pellerisey family and the Kestle family do not agree. They want to keep the monarchy. But still, I will send the letter to the King"

- "I find this Empire politically unstable, and it always has been. When Thetia was betrayed and Jane ascended to the throne alongside Harlan VII Vassethier, the political situation got worse and worse, and we both know how it ended.

- "I hope it doesn't happen to us..."

Several waiters arrived with serving carts with plates full of appetizing things. Erwin Brock stood behind the servers, controlling their moves. He came to greet us and gave us a description of what we were going to eat. All the dishes were simple but elegantly presented, just like his chef. Erwin was at our service for more than ten years. He had seen my family grow, all our comings and goings and he was always faithful to his job. He also recommended our current chef, Luca Cooper. He was one of his apprentices and trained by him. According to Erwin, this young man was going to transform the world of cooking. He has been with us since 2015 and I understood from day one why Chef Brock recommended him to us. This young man had a lot of talent. We invited Erwin to have lunch with us, but he politely declined. He explained that his wife was in the hospital and that he had received a message from the doctors, warning him that she would soon give birth. We congratulated him in advance and he left the restaurant. After this ample meal, my mother left for her activities and I returned to mine. I now had a Council of Ministers, and I knew it was going to be long. My guard joined me, and we left for the Assembly of Ministers, located in the west of Nearon.

When I arrived on the esplanade of the Ministers' Assembly, I noticed that another car was pulling up behind mine. A guard opened my door, and as I was heading towards the entrance, a voice beside me called out to me. I recognized it quickly because it was my older brother Ezekiel. He had been Minister of the Army and Public Order for more than ten years now. Before that, as soon as he obtained his IDSE, he joined the army because he wanted to have a great military career ever since he was a child. His role model was Hughes Kestle, Thetia Kestle's father. In the 13th century, he was a great military strategist, the favorite of King Harlan VI Vassethier. These two were very good friends. In fact, he allowed his little sister Mary Vassethier to marry Hughes. This proved the confidence the King had in Hughes. In short, it was thanks to Hughes that the Vassethier Kingdom was able to alienate the kingdoms of the Di Angelli family, the Arberel family, the De Knightford family and the De Pellerisey family. He was a father who was close to his children and who wanted them to succeed at all costs. Nevertheless, he was in part responsible for the downfall of two of his children, one of whom had a more terrible fate than the other.

- "Your Majesty, how is my little sister on this sunny day? " said my brother in a humorous tone. The two of us were very close, and even though I was the Empress, he always called me "Little Sister" or "Ode" my nickname. But you know what, I preferred it that way. It gave more cachet to my role.

- "I'm fine, my dear, kind big brother! But, I didn't expect to see you here. Didn't you have an Army Council? " I decided to play his game to entertain myself, at the same time as we were heading towards the Assembly Hall.

- "I decided to postpone it since you called us all together. Besides, what is the reason?"

- "So we're moving on to the 'you' now" I laughed. "You'll see, but I have other matters to discuss with some ministers, including you. I hope to get some answers, because at the Council of Kings and Queens, I didn't get them".

- "I'll do my best, don't worry" he smiled back. Will he keep smiling when I ask him why the army failed to control the import of chemical weapons into Goston?

- "Anyway, I just came out of lunch with Mom. We were at Le Joyau of Erwin Brock, our former chef".

- "What did she tell you? I haven't seen her for a long time, I should stop by and say hello when I'm not overburdened with work".

- "Not much of a big deal. Nevertheless, I have the feeling that she is still as worried as she was on my coronation day. She often questions my plans and decisions, even though most of them are in continuity with what she had done before. But I'm not going to complain, it means she worries about her children, not like our father". My brother didn't know what to say and just nodded.

Our Father Clayton was a very mysterious man. He seemed cold and he was, and he didn't care about his children sometimes. He took it badly that he didn't rule the whole Empire, but he was too in love with my mother to turn against her or whatever. It must have been four or five months since I had seen him. As far as my brother was concerned, it must have been much longer since he avoided him at all costs. Their relationship was and still is complicated. It became even more complicated when Ezekiel married June. She was born in Saint Christia De Vanugard in the County of Youmor. She and her family fled the city when it became one of the main combat zones in the conflict between Youmor and Goston. According to my father, I quote, "this good-for-nothing is going to force my son, my blood, to choose a side, her side, which is Goston. She will destroy the Imperial family and all that Thetia Kestle has built". Imagine the family dinners... Then I poured oil on the fire when I married Ernst who was originally from Youmor, and since then he hasn't spoken to us. It's much better that way. At least I think so.

We walked into the room where all the Ministers were talking in between. When they heard the doors open, they all stood up and greeted us. We took our seats and I declared the Council meeting open. Very quickly, each Minister passed by one by one to state a project or observations that he had seen in the Empire that he liked or disliked. 95% of the time, the Minister of Ecology Alexis Baxter was arguing with the Minister of Economy and Finance Logan Dean. According to Mr. Baxter, the annual budget for the ecology was not high enough to ensure that the ecological transition would occur. Logan Dean had increased their budget from year to year, but without seeing any improvement. So since 2017, their budget has gone back to the way it was before, and until there is a clear improvement, it will not increase, and Mr. Baxter did not accept that. Of course, there was another dispute today. I didn't really want to hear them argue for an hour, so I asked for silence.

- "Mr. Baxter and Mr. Dean, please behave in a decent and distinguished manner. I've gathered you here to talk about one of my projects. It will change the entire Empire and our lives."

- "What do you intend to do, Your Majesty? "asked Home Secretary Jocelyn Marshall.

- "I have long told you about Thetia Kestle's diary, which lies in a safe place in the treasures of the Imperial family. Inside, is transcribed what Thetia lived from A to Z as well as her dreams. One of them, as you know, was that the Empire should not be revealed, that it should remain hidden. It could reveal itself, when and only when it was sufficiently developed to face other countries and empires. And I think that the time has come".

- "To be honest with you, Your Majesty, we knew about it. Some Kings and Queens did tell us about it by accident" said Evangeline Peletier, Minister of Solidarity and Health.

They all took the time to explain to me what the Kings and Queens had announced to them, and that they had had time to discuss it before my arrival. Contrary to the Council of Kings, there was some reluctance but thanks to solid arguments, we managed to convince them.

- "So, we will create a new post of minister and a new ministry, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Do you have any candidates in mind that you would like to propose?"

- "I think we should choose one of our correspondents who came back, and who had the opportunity to travel between these countries" proposed the Minister of Culture Gabriel Masson.

- "It's a very good idea, Mr. Masson. In that case, I will send you a list of those who have returned, and then I will organize a meeting with them to confirm which ones will run for the position".

- "how do you plan to choose him?" asked me Dominick Lebeau, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation

- "I had thought that the people would vote by referendum. I would explain all this on Monday in a speech to reveal it to the people".

I was so excited about the opening of our borders, but I was also terrified. Let's hope everything goes as planned! I am looking forward to meet the different leaders of the countries.

Letter from the Empress Odessa Kestle

Dear Thetians

I hope everything is going well in your lives. This week's letter will surely be one of the most important I have had to write. A lot has happened lately, and I have had time to think about possible plans for the future of the empire and the ascension to the throne of my daughter Rilla. I plan to wait until she finishes her studies and having her agreement before transferring the power to her. As you know, her majority birthday is coming soon, and already she will have to make a speech and attempt to accomplish her first goal. As with all previous Empresses, she will have a limited amount of time to fulfill it.

On the morning of Friday, June 21, I chaired the Council of Kings and Queens to review the first part of the year and several points were discussed, but the most important one was the conflict between Youmor and Goston. I ordered the two Counties that they had until August to find a compromise and stop their war. If nothing is done after August, sanctions will be established. It is my duty to ensure the safety of my people, and this war, this conflict has gone on for far too long. I have been told that Goston is using chemical weapons such as poison gas on the people and on the army. The use of these weapons will be sanctioned and the case has been given to the IBI (Imperial Bureau of Investigation) for further investigation. More information will arrive in the following weeks.

Then in the afternoon of the same day, I called a meeting of the Ministers of the Empire two weeks ahead of schedule. We discussed future laws and reforms in the Empire, school examinations, economics and internal affairs. Regarding the DIAC and DIES exams, the dates of the results were changed due to a logistical problem. Some copies have just been distributed to the graders. Thus, the DIAC results will take place on Wednesday, June 26 at 10 a.m. and the DIES results on Thursday, June 27 at the same time. Therefore, the resits will be delayed. The DIAC 's ones will take place from Monday, July 1st to Wednesday, July 3rd and the results will be revealed on Saturday, July 6th. As for the DIES, resits will take place from Thursday July 4 to Saturday July 6 and the results will be revealed on Tuesday July 9. Each school will organize its remedial classes and is free to partner with other schools to facilitate the work of the teachers. As every year, retired volunteer teachers can participate in the resits if they obtain an authorization from the Ministry of Education. I hope that each student has given the best of himself and that he will get the result he wanted.

But that's not the only thing I wanted to share with you. On Monday, June 24 at 8:00 p.m., I will give an important speech that will be broadcast live throughout the Empire. In this speech, I will deal with a question that has always been circulating in our society, in our Empire: where do we come from? You will know, dear people, I will reveal it to you. I will take full responsibility for what will follow, I guarantee you, it is my duty. The Kestle family has fully honored the desires of our Creator Thetia Kestle, and now it is time to fulfill her last wish before she passed away.

The debut of Venom, the new SkyLight Entertainment group

On June 22, 2019, SkyLight Entertainment debuted its brand new men's group called Venom. Its 7 members are between 17 and 22 years old and they all participated to auditions between 2013 and 2017. It's now been two weeks since the teasers of each member have been released on Youtube, Instagram and on the agency's official website. The first member to be announced was Willis Snape, the oldest member of the group. He was followed by Felix Remmington, Blake Graham, Zachary Booth, Diego Lester, Jaxon Henry and Alex Kestle, the youngest member of the group at only 17 years old.

You are not dreaming, this group is composed of young talents, each one more promising than the other. For example Zachary Booth who had joined the Conservatory of Zorene and who later began a career as an actor and was able to play in several blockbusters. Or we can also mention Blake Graham, the younger brother of rapper Ted Graham from the mixed group Crimson from the same agency. These two were already known in the Underground rap scene for their rapping talent and were part of a rap crew in Greenchapel in the Kingdom of Nayah. Finally to finish Alex Kestle the youngest. Alexa Delaney aka C.A.B, the new rising rap star

Let's talk now about a young new artist who debuted on Thursday, June 20th, C.A.B. of her real name Alexa Delaney.

She was born on February 26, 1998 in Kline, a town of 50,000 inhabitants in the North-West of the Kingdom of Uscar. Tyler Holmes, an Underground rapper known as Lil Ty was in the semi-finals against Alexa. This last evoked the fact that one day, Alexa lied for serious facts and her mother was fired because of it. To defend herself, Alexa used her joker. She replied, "Yes, I lied, yes, my mother was fired, but dude, you're lying too, do I need remind you how your father died?" Lil Ty was unable to reply and lost the battle. The audience went wild. The violence of Alexa's line had gone around the hip-hop world, and Lil Ty never said anything to her again. She was the big winner with her Crew, and Wade Ayers, a great rapper from Kincardine in the Kingdom of Nayah, decided to offer her a contract with his label, Downtown Records.

Alexa describes her rap as "inappropriate for children and hung-up people".
