The Domineering Alpha's Regrets

Author: : Kalle Tatem
Genre: Werewolf
Killian, the future Alpha of my pack was the werewolf I feared the most. He made my life a living hell. As a maid, I tried my best to serve him and his family. But he never stopped bullying me. My life took a turn for the worse when Killian forced himself on me on the night the heir was announced. He took my virginity in the cruelest manner! The evil werewolf wasn't even remorseful. Instead of making me his mate, he banished me from the pack. I had to flee with his seed in my belly. On many occasions, I almost lost my life in the wilderness. It took a long time before I finally settled down in a city far away. I put my life back on track and prayed that I'd never see that beast again. Unfortunately, Killian showed up five years later and began to pester me. "You belong to me. I won't have you raise my child with another man!" he said with audacity. It was as if I was reliving my years of torture. I hated him with every fiber of my being. Baring my teeth, I roared, "Are you crazy? I'm not yours. Leave me alone!" Killian lost his cool. He pushed me to the wall. His eyes burned scarlet as he said in a low voice, "Yes, I'm crazy. You are the only one that can make me sane again." I couldn't believe my ears. As I was trying to process what I just heard, Killian stunned me again. "I'm sorry for everything I did to you. Please forgive me and don't turn away from me. I can't live without you." What the hell happened to him? Was he being sincere? Should I accept him for the sake of our child?

Chapter 1 A Terrible Mate

Nyla Higgins' POV:

"Nyla, grab the glass of wine and bring it over to Mr. Killian Cohen!"

Without hesitation, I nodded in agreement and delicately balanced the tray, making my way through the bustling banquet hall.

The grand hall was adorned with lavish decor, and the melodious strains of music filled the air. Yet, as a mere maid, these opulent surroundings were of little consequence to me.

Today marked the much-anticipated announcement of the heir to the Black Moon Pack, and thus, representatives from all the major packs had gathered to partake in the grand banquet.

As the largest werewolf pack, the Black Moon Pack's heir was a matter of great importance and concern to all in attendance. All eyes were fixed on the candidate who would soon be named the next Alpha of this esteemed pack.

Our current Alpha had taken two wives and fathered two sons.

Though the elder son, Raylan Cohen, was initially the first in line to inherit the Alpha title, his younger brother, Killian Cohen, had proven himself to be more powerful and beloved by the pack. As a result, their father preferred Killian as the heir.

As a humble maid in the midst of such a grand banquet, I knew I must be meticulous and vigilant, taking care not to make even the slightest error that could mar the proceedings.

All of a sudden, a jolt to my shoulder caused the wine in the glass to quiver.

Startled by the sudden impact, I hastily lifted my hand to steady the glass, spilling a small amount of wine in the process. Thankfully, the glass remained upright, averting any further mishap.

"Can't you watch where you're going? Honestly, Nyla, you're utterly useless!" The person who had bumped into me scolded me with disdain.

The other servants snickered and taunted me, but I remained composed and lowered my gaze as I passed by them.

This was a familiar scene to me, one that had repeated itself countless times since my earliest memories. Having lost my father at a young age, I toiled as a maid alongside my mother in the household of the Alpha of the Black Moon Pack.

To make matters worse, I had yet to have my own wolf, despite having reached adulthood. This provided everyone with the perfect excuse to belittle and torment me as they pleased.

Being tasked with serving wine to Killian on such a momentous occasion only served to stoke the envy and resentment of my peers toward me, intensifying their loathing and disdain.

Amidst the bustling banquet, the most striking figure present was none other than Killian, seated at a table with an air of impatience on his face.

Approaching with caution, I grabbed the glass and gingerly placed it upon his table, whispering softly, "Your wine, sir."

Casting a fleeting glance in my direction, he let out a derisive snort before turning his attention back to the festivities.

Wishing to avoid any further interaction, I bowed my head respectfully and made a hasty departure. Killian's reputation for his unyielding brutality was well-known, and to be honest, I was more than a little afraid of him.

In stark contrast, Killian's brother, Raylan, was known for his kindness and compassion. In fact, I myself had received ample care and concern from him on multiple occasions.

I harbored a fervent hope that Raylan would be selected as the heir, for if he were to assume the position, my life within the Black Moon Pack would surely be far less wretched.

Nevertheless, as a lowly maid, I understood all too well that my wishes and desires held little weight or significance in the grand scheme of things. Returning the tray to its rightful place, I breathed a small sigh of relief, glad that my task had been completed without incident.

With my most crucial task of the evening now fulfilled, all I desired was to locate a quiet corner where I could rest for a spell and evade any potential confrontations with my ill-mannered colleagues.

At last, after much searching, I discovered a secluded room where I could finally allow myself a moment of respite. I sank into the cozy corner, propped my head against the cool stone wall, and let out a long, calming breath.

Without warning, a towering figure intruded upon my peaceful sanctuary, lunging toward me before I had a chance to respond.

"Who are you?" My heart pounding with terror, I writhed and fought with all my might, crying out, "Let go of me!"

Despite my efforts, the man seemed to be completely out of control. He paid no heed to my resistance, pinning me firmly to the floor with his weight. I struggled and wriggled beneath him, but it was as though he was made of stone, immovable and unyielding.

As I felt a rush of cold air against my skin, I realized that my clothes had been ripped apart by the man's wild movements. My heart raced with fear and my body trembled in shock. I tried to push him away with all my might, but his strength was overpowering.

Despite my desperate struggle, his grip was vice-like. As I turned my head to catch a glimpse of his face, terror coursed through me, freezing the blood in my veins.

Killian... It was Killian!

What was he doing here?

My mind was a mess.

My panic-stricken voice echoed through the room as I shouted with all my might.

"Raylan!"

I believed that he was my only hope for salvation. In my heart, I prayed to the Moon Goddess, hoping that Raylan would come to my rescue once more.

"Raylan, help me..." Tears streamed down my face, and I couldn't control my sobs.

Killian's attitude suddenly became more hostile after my comment, but I wasn't sure if it was directly related to what I had said.

The intense pain made it difficult for me to catch my breath.

Consumed by shame and agony, I wanted to end my life then and there.

At that moment, an indescribable sensation surged through my fragile nerves, jolting me into immediate alertness. I recognized the exhilarating feeling and knew exactly what it meant.

It was the unmistakable spark between mates.

But how could it be? How could Killian be my mate?

As the realization hit me, the weight of it seemed to crush my very soul. I was now completely under Killian's control, with pleasure and pain intermingling until I lost all coherent thought and simply fainted.

Chapter 2 After The Nightmare

Nyla's POV:

At last, after what seemed like an eternity, I woke up from my slumber.

The agony coursing through my entire being and the bodily fluids seeping from between my legs served as a brutal reminder that my recent ordeal had been all too real, yet I couldn't help but wish it had merely been a haunting nightmare.

Killian lay beside me, still asleep.

A blankness washed over my mind, leaving me in a state of disarray, hopelessness, and sorrow.

As I gazed upon his countenance, the very same visage that drew the attention of countless females within the pack, I was overcome with a sense of revulsion and terror.

For what reason did this befall me?

I couldn't stifle my cries any longer, but just then, a loud commotion erupted outside the door.

In the very next moment, the door was violently flung open.

With forceful determination, a group of individuals burst into the room, led by none other than Robbin Cohen, the reigning Alpha of the Black Moon Pack.

Filled with fear, I hastily retrieved the shattered remnants of my clothing from the floor, desperately attempting to conceal the evidence on my body.

The noise stirred Killian from his sleep, his brows furrowing as he sat up slowly.

Shrinking into a corner, I pulled my knees to my chest and bowed my head. Shaking with fear, I bit my lip, determined not to utter a sound.

Robbin's roar reached my ears. "Bastard! What the hell are you doing here? How dare you disappear from the banquet and fool around with a maid? You're bringing shame upon the Black Moon Pack!"

I made a feeble attempt to curl up into myself, hoping to diminish my presence as much as possible, but it was all in vain. In the next instant, I stumbled forward as someone yanked me violently by the arm.

I was met with a sharp slap across my face, the impact resounding with a loud crack as my right cheek immediately swelled.

"You wretched bitch!" Alyssa Ortiz's furious voice was like a knife, piercing my eardrums. "You are utterly repulsive!"

My ears were ringing, but I dared not even attempt to resist. My heart was consumed with a sense of hopelessness.

After all, Alyssa, the daughter of the Beta in the Black Moon Pack, considered herself to be Killian's rightful mate. I was well aware of how dangerous a jealous woman could be. She would undoubtedly stop at nothing to see me dead.

"Enough! Cease this quarreling and leave at once!" Killian shouted impatiently.

The entire Black Moon Pack knew of his immense power, and not a single werewolf dared to defy him. Alyssa, albeit reluctantly, departed.

"Killian, as your father and leader of this pack, I am gravely disappointed in you. It appears that I must reassess my choice of who should be the next Alpha."

Robbin departed after issuing a warning to Killian.

Soon, the room was empty, and only Killian and I remained. I clutched my body and recoiled to the side, keeping my head lowered and refusing to utter a word. In my eyes, Killian was far more fearsome than anyone else I had ever known.

Without warning, Killian abruptly spun around and fixed me with a ferocious glare, as though he intended to rend me apart.

I could not help but tremble more violently, my legs growing weak as I involuntarily backed away.

Step by step, Killian drew closer to me, and I caught sight of the wolf inside him. His wolf was as formidable as he was.

Through clenched teeth, he snarled in a voice laced with malice, "Did you set me up? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

I shook my head frantically and said in a choked voice, "N-no, I didn't! I swear, I didn't!"

I was too scared to move. As soon as he grabbed me by the neck, I closed my eyes and waited for death.

Would I be the first she-wolf to be ripped apart by her own mate?

Surprisingly, instead of attacking me with his sharp claws, Killian simply pulled me forward.

He was so strong that I couldn't resist, and I stumbled along behind him. The next moment, he flung me out of the room as if I were nothing more than a piece of garbage.

I stumbled and fell to the floor, feeling dizzy and disoriented. I could hear his voice roaring behind me, "Get out! Don't ever show yourself in front of me again for the rest of your life!"

My hands and feet ached, making it difficult for me to stand up. I struggled to get up, bit by bit, feeling awkward and unsteady. I had to return to my room and put on some clothes.

As I tried to make my way back to my room, some servants gathered around me and began to mock me.

"Look at that whore! She managed to seduce Mr. Killian Cohen!"

"She is just a cheap slut!"

A few male servants gave me lecherous looks.

Despite witnessing the servants mocking and leering at me, Killian mercilessly closed the door and left me to face their cruel remarks alone.

I collapsed on the floor, feeling utterly helpless and hopeless. Why did all this have to happen to me? Didn't he realize that I was meant to be his mate?

Chapter 3 Punishment

Nyla's POV:

As I was clueless about what to do, a cozy and plush blanket enveloped me.

I witnessed a person standing before me and intimidating the servants who had been ridiculing and harassing me.

The person was my mother!

At the sight of her, I had the urge to cry once more.

The servants glared at my mother and me with resentment until their expressions suddenly shifted and they diverted their gaze behind us. I pivoted around to see that Robbin and Alyssa had walked back.

Robbin regarded us with an emotionless expression and uttered in a chilly tone, "Leave the Black Moon Pack. Henceforth, you are stripped of your werewolf status in this pack."

He wanted to expel us from the Black Moon Pack!

I couldn't believe it. "But, why?"

Alyssa expressed her disdain with a sneer and retorted, "How audacious of you to inquire why! If you hadn't meddled with Killian's drink, how would you have been able to approach and tempt him? You orchestrated a trap for the prospective Alpha. You should consider yourself lucky that we aren't executing you immediately!"

I was taken aback. Was there something wrong with the wine? However, I did not tamper with it in any way!

I became agitated and protested loudly, "I have no knowledge of it whatsoever! I didn't do it!"

Nevertheless, none of them believed me, and they merely regarded me with contempt.

No, I was not to blame. Killian acted of his own accord! It was him! He raped me! Why should my mother and I be punished for that?

"I want to see Killian! Let me see him!" I made a request to confront Killian.

However, Alyssa did not grant me the opportunity. She regarded me with contempt and announced, "Killian has no desire to meet with you. Cease your absurd rambling. Guards, throw them out!"

In no time, a group of burly servants encircled us.

I instinctively leaped forward to shield my mother, fearing for her safety. However, we were powerless against them. They apprehended us and forcefully expelled us from the pack.

Our belongings met the same fate as us and were flung out unceremoniously.

I took out a set of clothes and donned them clumsily. My mother gazed at me with a mournful expression and assisted me with my coat.

All of a sudden, she clutched her chest and wheezed for air.

I hastily moved toward her and embraced her, anxiously inquiring, "Mom? Are you alright?"

She remained unresponsive. Her eyelids shut, and she lost consciousness.

I was terrified. I hoisted her onto my back and sprinted to the hospital with all my strength.

I couldn't lose her!

*

"A sudden heart attack?"

In the ward, I gazed at the doctor helplessly and verified my mother's condition with him once more.

The doctor nodded and replied, "Her condition is critical. She requires an operation immediately. Please make the necessary payments promptly."

Regrettably, I had no money on hand.

I beseeched him with a pleading look, "Is there any way to carry out the surgery before the payment? I'll pay it as soon as I raise the money."

The doctor scrutinized me hastily and responded impatiently, "I cannot make an exception for a rogue. You'd better seek to gather the funds immediately."

Without any hesitation, he exited the ward.

What was I to do?

As I gazed at my mother lying in bed, I forced myself to remain composed despite my distress.

Becoming a rogue meant that I was no longer a member of a werewolf pack and had lost the protection and support of the pack. It was a difficult situation for me as I had no resources to fall back on.

It seemed like the odds were stacked against me ever since I was a child and I had nowhere to turn. However, I refused to give up on my mother. I knew I had to find a way to save her, no matter what it took.

Perhaps I could turn to Raylan.

For the sake of my mother, I was willing to try asking for Raylan's help, although I wasn't sure if he would be willing to assist me.

Under the cover of darkness, I made my way back to the Alpha's house. My heart pounded inside my chest. It was an incredibly risky move, as any other werewolf who caught sight of me would have no hesitation in taking my life.

I grabbed a small stone and tossed it toward Raylan's window, hoping he would hear it and come to my aid.

As I waited anxiously, I noticed a light turning on in a different room.

It was Killian's room!

Backtracking in fear, I was too slow to escape before Killian noticed me.

He emerged swiftly and demanded in a hushed tone, "How dare you return?"

Trembling with fear, I remained silent. Killian's gaze shifted to the next room. With a sarcastic smile, he asked, "Are you here for Raylan? Do you expect him to take a fancy to a humble maid like you? Are you dreaming of becoming his mate?"

I was unsure of what Killian was trying to convey.

I had no intention of becoming Raylan's mate; all I needed was his help.

I wondered why Killian would say something like that when he was supposed to be my mate.

Although confused, I had no time to ponder these questions. My greatest concern at the moment was my mother's condition, and I needed money to save her. I had already been expelled from the pack, and returning had been a risky move. Now that I had been caught by Killian, I knew that I wouldn't have another opportunity to come back.

The man in front of me looked so cold and unyielding. I knew that he wouldn't let me see Raylan.

I was left with no other option but to kneel down.
