"Miss Rielle, there is nothing I can do right now. This is from the higher ups. We can't do anything to help you," the tired voice of the tall, meany looking man before her said, rubbing his neck. He looked at Rielle and just as he expected, the girl wasn't taking the news well.
Rielle sighed loudly and looked down. Her eyes were glistering with tears but she wasn't ready to let it drop. She wasn't going to show any one her weakness and make them think they got her. She swallowed the lumps in her throat and nodded slightly. Is this the end for her? Have her rival finally gotten what she wanted? Of course, who was she kidding, her rival did get what she wanted.
She sighed and looked at the Mr. Clinton, the man standing before her. He didn't have any pity for her but she wasn't ready to back down. Even though, he wouldn't help her, she will have to do whatever it takes to get help elsewhere.
She adjusted her glasses and picked her purse. "Since there is no other way else, I will take my leave. Anyway, thank you for listening to me." she bowed her head slightly and let the office with a heavy heart.
She was so angry, frustrated and tried of living. Just a day and everything was destroyed before her eyes. How bad could her life be? She has no one to turn to or run to for help.
She is an orphan who grew up moving from one foster home to another. She never stays in a foster home for more than three years because they will always send her back to the orphanage tagging her as an evil child bringing them bad luck. She was always maltreated and bullied by orphans in the orphanage. That drove her to work harder until she could take care of herself.
Going into the main world outside the four walls of the orphanage, she knew life was more than what she imagined. She wanted to express herself. She wanted to have her own fairytale that she always end up imagining when she is alone. She picked up her pen and wrote it all in a book. Her fairytale. The life she imagined and her stories got her into the top ten best writer, giving her quite a comfortable life. She got a boyfriend even though it wasn't like her fairytale romance, he was her first love. He gave her the shoulders she longed for.
When she thought everything were working out for her and she was finally becoming like she dreamt, the unfortunate happened. She got a news that she was accused of plagiarism. One of her hit story was stolen by her. Her life have been a mess for three days now, both in the social media and her surrounding. Her emotional state have been dealt with. Just how unfortunate.....
"Rielle! Rielle wait up." a familiar voice called, walking towards her in a hurry creating a loud, heels sound in the large hallway.
Her perfume filled the whole area making Rielle to scrunch her nose. Not who she wanted to see that moment. Not who she wanted to see in her state.
The woman walked to her front and stood before her with that smile Rielle wished she could scratch out of her face.
"Rielle, is the rumor I am hearing true?" she asked and gasped. "Are you really leaving the company? That is bad you know. You worked so hard for this. You worked so hard to get to where you are now. I am so sorry for your unfortunate state." she said, feigning sadness.
Rielle rolled her eyes seeing how well she was playing the good girl. Good girl? Really? May Thatcher, the good girl? She was far from being a good girl. She is worst than a b!tch. If there was any other word to describe her that is more than a b!tch.
"Get out of my way May, I have other things to do right now."
May gasped again, "Are you pushing me away? You look like someone who will need some comfort right now and you are pushing me away? This is why everyone hates you. You are so mean."
A slap will be enough to shut her up but Rielle wasn't ready for that. "May, you can stop pretending to be the good girl and get out of my way."
"Well I am a good girl and not like someone who stole a book and made it hers."
"That book is mine." she raised her voice. That was the height of it. The book was hers. The person who lied that it's hers, forged every evidence against her. It was all a lie.
"Well, you can't avoid what is there already."
Rielle sighed loudly, trying to calm herself for saying anything else as she wasn't ready for her taunt at all. She had other things to handle like taking care of her problem and finding a solution before the company finally terminate her contract.
She ignored May and walked passed her, leaving her behind.
May who still had her sad face, watched as she left the hallway. Immediately she was out of sight, she bursted out laughing.
"Finally, I can get what I wanted. Rielle is finally out of my way." she said and entered the office by her right.
Rielle brought out her phone and dialled a number which she saved as 'Mr mine' with two heart. She just wanted to hear his voice and get comforted. She dialed his number more than three times but he wasn't picking up which got her worried.
"Is there something wrong?" she asked herself, walking slowly towards the parking lot. She was so worried about him and quickly, she entered her car and drove out of the parking lot.
It was a ten minutes drive to her boyfriend's apartment. She wanted to check up on him as her heart suddenly started beating fast. So fast that she thought it would burst open her chest.
She parked her car and ran up to his apartment which was at the second floor. She stopped when she was in front of his door and wanted to knock but the door opened itself. That was so unlike Steve, he always makes sure to lock his door even though he was inside.
She opened the door and walked in. The living room was quiet and disorganized. His clothes were on the floor.
"Was there something that happened?" she wondered. Her eyes widened thinking of the possibility that he must have been attacked and that was why his clothes were on the floor. Steve was involved with a gang last year and he always tell her that he was scared. Could it be they came for him?
Tears fell from her eyes as she thought of that. Not her Steve, nothing can happen to her. She hurriedly went to his room and opened the door. Rielle gasped loudly seeing the sight before her.
"Steve!!!" she called out loudly.
Rielle gasped loudly. "Oh goodness!!" she said and was frozen on her spot. Her world came crashing before her very eyes, seeing her boyfriend on the bed with a very familiar figure. She moved back, breathing heavily.
The man she loves is on the bed with another woman. Her heart was beating really fast seeing them together. The two remained on the bed, staring at her as if her presence before them wasn't doing anything to their conscious. The face of the girl, how will she not know who the girl is when she is her roommate.
The lady who shares the same apartment with her. The lady who moved in with her when she had no where else to go.
"No, No!!" she ran out of the house with a heavy heart. She just couldn't believe that her boyfriend, whom she loves so much and wouldn't ever believe in the world will ever betray her, will eventually do, and not just with anyone, but someone who she thought of as her friend and the sister she never had.
She cried as she ran on the lonely, quiet road, trying to get away as soon as possible. Trying to just leave even though she doesn't know where she was going to. Her heart was aching so bad that it felt as if it was going to burst open her chest and fall off.
She ran crying out loud, until she got to the main road but didn't stop running, attracting passersby to her. She didn't mind at all and just wanted to run, run far away.
She have been hurt too much that day and it was enough. No footsteps behind her. No running footsteps or anyone telling her to stop or even calling her name. They weren't running behind her to stop her and try to explain themselves.
She ran, unconsciously and stopped in the middle of the road. Voices, different voices laughing and mocking at her. It was so loud and the world around her was spinning so fast. She was losing it, she was finally losing it. The voices were many, telling her how shameless she was.
The voices of her fans, her boyfriend, her friends, the orphanage, her workers and many more.
It was deafening and making her dizzy. The loud voices in her head made her not to hear the horn of the bus, driving towards her. She closed her ears and eye shut, trying to stop the voices and spinning, not knowing the danger approaching her. The voices of people shouting, telling her to leave the road, didn't help at all. Suddenly, the voices stopped. She didn't hear anything again. She was deaf at that moment and the next thing she knew was, her feet left the floor and landed her on the floor, away from where she stood.
"Oww!!" she cried and opened her eyes, blowing in her arm which got bruised due to the way she had fallen. That was when she knew what was happening. She got her hearing back. Some people where asking if she was okay and some where asking why she would stay in the middle of the road and that she should go get help.
She looked towards the road and saw the bus that almost hit her, she then looked to her right and noticed a man, nursing his arm.
"You where lucky he pushed you out of the way." one of people around said. The man pushed her out of the way or she would have been dead meat. She would have been hit by the car and become a past tense. Maybe that would have been better. It would have been better if the bus had hit her and sent her into the other world.
Then, all this pains, sorrow and suffering will stop. Her heart will stop hurting then. She was losing her mind.
She stood up and ran away, missing some steps as she ran, but without looking back or saying anything to anyone, not even the person who saved her. She just wanted to disappear.
"She is losing it...." the people around said, as they watched her going away, unstable.
She was going to end it. End it once and for all. Dying a painless death will be a gift for her. She couldn't just go through all this and still die painfully.
She entered a bar, looking dishevelled and lost. "One bottle of your most alcoholic drink." she said. The bartender looked at her wryly, but when she dropped a bundle of money, he nodded and gave her the drink she asked for.
She took it and left the bar.
Going towards the tower, she drank the alcohol every minutes she moves a step. She needed to get drunk so she will be able to kill herself easily without fear. Tears weren't coming out from her eyes as her water gate must have been dried up.
She got to the tower and went to the last floor, with the city coming in view.
Life never wanted her. Life made a mistake by bringing her to earth. She hated life. She hated the day she was born as she shouldn't have been born at all. She hates her parent for bringing her into the world and leaving her all alone in the wicked, evil world. Now she will end it all.
She looked down, but moved back. She couldn't do it. She just couldn't do it. She has high tolerance to alcohol and that have been the problem. She can't get drunk until she drinks up to twenty bottles of alcohol, but still, she will be conscious of her environment. The doctors said it was a gift, but thinking about it, it was a curse at this moment.
She turned and left.
She got back to her empty apartment. Her apartment which she now hated. The same apartment she spent with that cheat and the betrayer. The same apartment where she wrote her story which was claimed to be plagiarized.
She caught the sight of her laptop and walked closer. She turned it on and the cover picture of one of the female lead werewolf story she was writing, popped up. Another hit that is one of her popular books. The perfect, drawn picture of her female lead.
She smiled bitterly as she stared at it. Her female lead have everything in this world. Her life is so perfect with her prince charming and all. How pathetic. There is no happy life." she said and typed on the chapter she was working on.
She typed until she came to a stop and posted it in her website. Seeing what she had written, a smile was plastered on her lips.
She killed her female lead. She was too perfect and there wasn't a perfect life. She closed her eyes and fell on her laptop. A bright light suddenly appeared around her, forming a thick mist. Her body glowed brightly until she was left of nothing. She disappeared.
Rielle rolled on the soft bed, spreading her legs and her arms widely. Her bed suddenly feels so comfortable to lie on and for that moment, she forgot what she was passing through.
She rubbed the back of her neck and sniffed in. The room smells of sweet fragrance. Like a sweet fruity fragrance. She has always loved harsh fragrance so that wasn't from her. Who the hell would make her room scent that way? She slowly opened her eyes and was met by the painting of a lion's head on the ceiling.
Startled, she let out a scream and rolled down the bed, falling to the ground on her butt. "Ouch!"
Her eyes roamed about and it then hit her that she wasn't in her room. Standing up hurriedly, she rubbed her arms, feeling the goosebumps on her body caused by the dark atmosphere that suddenly overtook the warm comfort she felt not quite a while.
"Where the hell is this place?" she asked looking around.
Her memory of what happened to her returned. She remembered getting drunk and everything else were blank.
"Oh my god!!" she half screamed. It could be that she went to someone's apartment in her drunken state. She hit her forehead with her palm out of embarrassment and closed her eyes tightly.
"How could you be so stupid Rielle? I just want to end my life but now, I am in a stranger's room which is worst."
She suddenly heard footsteps outside her door. Letting out a gasp, she jumped on the bed and pretended to be asleep.
The footsteps stopped right in front of the door and after a while, the person walked away.
Rielle raised her head in curiosity, wondering why the person didn't enter the room? Could it be he thought she was still awake and left? Then, she has to meet whoever this person is and thank him for his kindness. She has to leave anyway.
She stood up from the bed snd hurried out, heading towards the place which she thought the person went to.
She kept running until she got to the dead end, where a room was stationed. She looked around and noticed the weird, dark paintings on the wall. They gave her the chills but her eyes weren't looking away.
It has a dark feeling attached to it just like the way it looks. "Scary." she muttered, shaking her head.
She forced her self to looked away and finally knocked on the door. "Hello...." she called but it was all dead silent.
She went on nevertheless, "Hello, I am the lady who was brought in when I was drink. I must have being a nuisance and I apologize for that. I promise, I will make it up to you when we ever meet again. And, thank you for your kind gesture in letting me stay. I really appreciate that." she said out loud but still got no reply.
"Is he here?" she asked herself and made to knock again but the door opened slightly. "I guess so."
She opened the door completely and went in. The room was dark and eerie. The door suddenly banged close, frightening her. She swallowed hard and tried to strain her eyes to see who was in the room as she felt a presence with her.
"Hello? Please answer me, I am getting scared. I just want to thank you and leave, I mean no harm at all." she said out loud but got no reply. "Is your talent keeping quiet when talked to? Say something and stop scaring the shit out of me."
She heard a step beside her and turned hesitantly as fear engulfed her heart. Could it be she was in the hands of a killer who was sent to finally end her life? Her has haters but she never thought they would go this far.
"What do you want? Were you sent to kill me? Show yourself and stop hiding." she tried to be bold, but deep down, her heart was throbbing really fast and her legs were going sour. She was standing right before her death. Anyone in her situation will surely be scared.
Now, she regretted why she walked into the room instead of just leaving after thanking him.
"Come out!" she yelled.
"Keisha?" a voice from the dark called.
Rielle went still as she shivered at the sound of the voice. A male's voice, deep and smoky. The way he called the name caused a tinge in her inside.
She strained her eyes more to try to catch a glimpse but it all proved abortive.
"Do you know how hard I tried to leave without you? I can't leave without you. I want you back. You are mine and mine alone. Not even death can have you cause I will go to the kingdom of death and have you back."
Rielle swallowed hard hearing him say that. The deep, sexy voice suddenly turned dark and that crazy five second feeling she had, suddenly disappeared, bringing her back to reality.
The scene of her boyfriend with her roommate displayed before her as if she was watching it all over again. It just had to come back that moment. She rolled her knuckles into a fist as her breathe hitched. She hated that moment, she hated the two of them. They made her life even more miserable without trying.
Caught in her emotion, she forgot that there was a situation to deal with. She was in a room, about to be killed by someone who she haven't see his face but only heard his voice.
Her attention came back to her surrounding when she suddenly felt a warm breath on her exposed shoulder. It felt so warm that it sent a wave all over her body. She was weak again before this person.
The man sniffed her neck and leaned closer with his lips grazing her skin.
"I have always wanted this. I have always wanted you but you choose him over me." he spoke into her ears.
The man was doing unimaginable things to her without even trying. Who the hell is this stranger in the dark?
He moved his head away from her neck and leaned closer to her face. "You are mine...... Keisha."
She closed her eyes to get back her thinking straight but all she saw was her ex boyfriend with her roommate and her knuckles molded into a fist again.
She clenched her jaws as she got back all her sanity to deal with the man before her. Do all men think ladies are foolish? Is he trying to get her with mere words?
In anger, she raised her hand to punch him in the face but it was caught half way and her lips got caught in his. He kissed her. Her eyes widened in shock.
