chapter 1

Louis Hermosa's POV

"Louis, I heard you dropped out of college? Why?" mommy asked so I stopped eating.

"Because aunt ouch!" Kalix moaned when I elbowed him.

"I'm having a hard time, I wish I could work and study at the same time, just in case.. I'm not as strong as my brother" I answered and sighed.

"It's okay, so... what are you going to do now?" She asked while chewing.

"I'm going to work, I applied for a job as a helper" I answered and continued eating.

"I'm just here man, thank you" I got off the tricycle I was riding and paid.

I was surprised because he kept looking at the huge house and at the same time looked back at me.

"What brought you here?" The man asked making me smile.

"Get a job, someone said that they were hiring a helper and the salary was high, so I let her in, it's a shame" I replied quietly and smiled.

"Be careful in that area, especially around the house" He said mysteriously before rushing away which scared me a lot but I just put it aside.

I faced the house again and stared at it, it looked like a haunted house because almost everything was black. He also has a fountain in the middle and a huge gate.

I walked towards the guard who was reading a book on the side, he was quite old.

"Hello, I'm the one who will enter as a maid" I said as he looked at me and I was a little surprised because he didn't have one eye. He let me in without saying a word.

I was weirded out but I just put it aside and walked towards the huge door, I took a deep breath before knocking.

While waiting for someone to open the door, I turned my gaze to the left side of the house.

There is a big gate with a sign that says 'Do not enter, this place is dangerous' and the gate seems to be stained with blood.

I was about to walk towards it but I stopped because the door opened and an old man appeared.

I suddenly swallowed when I saw that one of his eyes was gone, I was suddenly horrified but it disappeared because he smiled at me.

Maybe it's just a coincidence that they both don't have one eye, right? That's right.

"Come in, you're going to be the one who's going to be an assistant, aren't you?" Manang asked to which I smiled and nodded. I went inside and as soon as I entered, my hair stood up because the atmosphere was so heavy and the surroundings were so cold.

"It's cold here" I laughed awkwardly so as not to look like I was insulting the place, nanaya also laughed and grabbed my shoulder.

His hand was cold, cold, but I shouldn't give that meaning.

"That's right, the air conditioner here is fine, I'm sorry that the air conditioner is only turned off every night" He said that I just laughed and nodded, we walked towards the living room and when I saw the living room you could tell that it was like a haunted house that is clean.

The living room is very large and the chandelier in the middle sways on its own and makes a scary sound.

You would think it would be destroyed but it looks like it is still new, there is a big chimney in the middle but there is a wooden block and so are all the windows.

"Uhm.. why.. the windows have wooden barriers?" I asked and slightly turned to the old man but to my surprise he just stared at me and suddenly smiled.

"Come and I'll show you the kitchen, come.. come.." My hair rose when he suddenly touched my wrist.

I should avoid thinking about what I can't seem to stop, because I feel different in the whole place and why is there no other maid here?

"Madam, this is what you are asking for" I almost jumped in shock when someone suddenly spoke behind me, I clutched my chest because my heart was beating so hard while my eyes were closed tightly.

"A-are you okay? Did I surprise you too much? I can hear your heartbeat, I'm sorry" I heard a young woman's soft voice so my eyes widened.

"I'm Riana, are you the new assistant? Welcome" I smiled at her when she handed me her hand, I was about to take it for a hand shake but I froze when I saw that her little finger was missing.

I glanced at her who was still smiling at me as if waiting for me to shake her hand, I gulp and shake hands with her. I hesitated not because I was disgusted with her hand but because I was surprised.

"I-I'm Louis" I can't help but stammer, thankfully she just nods at me and leaves.

"Louis, good name" Mom said and took me to the kitchen, I was a little surprised because the kitchen was very big and there were many maids in it.

They are like robots who don't look where they are just going straight to what they are doing, the people here are weird.

"You can only enter the living room and the kitchen downstairs, upstairs when you clean the room, remember that there are two rooms you cannot enter" Her sudden seriousness caught me off guard, the way she shifted her emotion isn't that amazing and all. It's scary.

"The Two rooms facing each other at the end, remember that when you enter that room, it's the end of your life" I almost lost the blood in my body because of what she said, she's saying that in a straight face, who would don't be scared?!

"Just kidding haha ​​​​you're too serious, but you can't really enter that room" He said suddenly which made me wince, but my nervousness was still there

"The young master still has a long time to come back here, so your salary will be a bit long, but don't worry because it's big" I looked around the entire kitchen as I listened to what he was saying.

"The young master also forbids entering the area on the left side of the house" I nodded at what he said as he continued to look around the whole house, his face was really scary.

"Don't let your curiosity swallow you, if you don't want to be like me.." I suddenly stopped what he said and I slowly looked back at him, it was very meaningful when he mentioned those words.

"W-what do you mean?" I was about to ask but he just grinned a little and turned away.

"Come and I'll take you upstairs" He just answered and started walking so I followed behind him.

I don't understand and I don't want to think about anything but..

Why does he seem to be avoiding my questions?

"Louis! Are you ready? Come and clean the back of the house" I turned my gaze to Riana and immediately put on my t-shirt which was loose and a bit thin so I wouldn't sweat quickly.

"Are we the only ones to clean?" I asked and helped him with his cleaning supplies.

"Yes because the others will do something" He answered and we walked together towards the living room, we saw others wiping every corner of the living room and others removing the wood from the window and... replacing it?

"Riana, why are they changing the wood in the window?" I asked and I was surprised because they all suddenly turned to me but I couldn't read their thoughts, I couldn't explain their expressions so I was scared.

"Please be patient, he's new" Riana suddenly said, they didn't answer and suddenly went back to what they were doing... they act like robots.

"Come on, Louis" There was a hint of annoyance in Riana's voice that was softened by my expression.

"Sorry.." I just said as we walked towards the back of the house.

"Louis, this is the only thing I can advise you because I can't say too much.." His voice was serious, he sighed and looked straight at me.

"You can't ask questions here, obviously? I'm telling you this because I don't want you to be harmed, even if the young master isn't here, someone is watching our every move, so don't disobey everything that Sonya has forbidden you" His voice was serious but weak, wondering. anyway I nodded.

"Louis, don't let your curiosity swallow you.. because that might be the very thing that will destroy you" He warned and I could see the worry in his eyes, he let go of me and continued walking so I followed again him.

"It's a weird question for you, but I want to know why you're telling me all this, so you won't be the one to get hurt" I asked as we continued walking.

When we got to the back of the house, there was a brown door that looked like a cave, I stared for a few seconds before I heard Riana's voice.

"If manang Sonya hasn't told you yet, you are not allowed to enter there, including the gate on the left side of the house that you probably saw earlier" He said while sweeping and immediately became silent, I didn't just word because I don't want him to fall for me.

I started cleaning while clearing my mind of the things I knew-I didn't know yet.

There are so many secrets in this house that's for sure, maybe the owner they call the young master is the same.

While cleaning, I saw a small drawer leaning against the wall, I approached it and slowly lifted it so that I could clean the part there.

But I was surprised because I saw a grave, I couldn't read the name but both visible and date of birth and death.

"Help!!" I almost jumped in shock when I heard a hair-raising scream, the scream was quite soft because that person was far away.

"Riana did you hear that? Where is that cry coming from?" I asked and felt my surroundings and my eyes widened when suddenly the woman screamed again.

"You didn't hear anything, convince yourself that you didn't hear anything" Riana suddenly said that I was very scared, I heard the scream again but suddenly it was cut off as if someone stopped her.

I couldn't help it and I wanted to peek because that scream got better from behind this not-so-high fence.

I stepped onto the drawer and grabbed the other center of the cement before lifting myself up.

My eyes almost widened and I lost my balance and I fell to the ground, immediately Riana came to me and supported me.

Unbelievable, how come there was a maze behind this house? What is that huge maze for?

My curiosity is growing cause of the mystery of this house.

Chapter 2

Louis Hermosa's POV

"Are you alright? Louis why did you do that? Maybe someone saw you" My chest pounded so hard and my breathing suddenly deepened.

"You're so stubborn, you're going to be destroyed because of what you're doing" He scolded me but that didn't enter my mind because I had too many questions.

Question that needs an answer.

I turned to look at him and swallowed. "W-what kind of house is this?" The word came out of my mouth but he just stared straight and serious at me and suddenly sighed. I don't understand his emotions but I'm sure he wants to say a lot but he can't.

"You didn't see anything bright?" I swallowed because of what he said, it's always like that every time I discover something. "Why can't you say?" I asked back and wiped my soiled clothes.

"Since it's not possible, let's finish this and we might need to go inside" He said and cleaned again, even though there were so many questions in my mind, I insisted on cleaning.

Huge mazes, mysterious gates, forbidden doors, disturbing warnings and most of all.. weird people who are almost missing a part of their body.

Is the owner of this house a ghost?

"Louis it's over, what else are you building there? Come on" Riana suddenly said. "Ah, yes, I'm sorry." I answered and followed him, but before we could completely leave there, I turned once at the top of the fence before walking away from there.

"Louis, Riana.. I've been waiting for you. Riana needs you in the kitchen and you, Louis, clean the second floor" I almost jumped in shock because Sonya suddenly appeared in front of us, I guess I was too distracted that I didn't notice her approaching me.

The nervousness in my chest returned again for some unknown reason, Riana left to go to the kitchen and Sonya and I were left behind. I wonder why he is staring at me.

"Your chest is pounding very hard, is something wrong?" Manang's question was serious, which made me even more nervous because I might get sick.

"nothing" When I lied, I knew it was obvious to him but he just nodded at me so I went up to the 2nd floor of the house, when I went up it was this very heavy feeling again.

It feels like someone is running all over your body, I also feel like my head is bulging and my hairs are rising on my skin. And the eerie silence makes it even more scary.

I started sweeping and tidying up the room, it didn't take me long because I just had to remove the dust. Not all the rooms here are used so it's not too dirty.

While sweeping the hallway, I passed the said room, it was simple to look at, but as I stared at it, I felt that there was something inside.

A feeling that when I opened the door there was someone standing in front of me, I wasn't powerful but I could feel the presence.

I feel a negative energy coming from this room, when manang took me around here on the 2nd floor, he told me not to stand for a long time in front of that door.

Even if I don't want to obey, I also don't want to reprimand because I might get sick, I still need a job and money.

I turned around and started to walk away but before I had taken two steps I was stoned from where I was standing.

I slowly walked back to the door while feeling the inside when someone suddenly grabbed my shoulder. "Louis? What are you doing?" I looked at Riana and looked back at the door.

"I know, that's really scary" He said and picked up the broom that I dropped. "There's a devil" He added that I was very scared but he just walked away so I followed while looking around the room.

I forgot to mention that there is a letter L posted on the door, it's probably the owner's initial.

But.. what was that knocked? Someone's in there, that's for sure.

We are cleaning the basement today, there are a lot of us here because it is very spacious and there are various things made of wood.

We cleaned everything while I was removing the dust, it was so dusty that we had to wear masks, gloves and so on.

"I'm over there Louis, just move to the other side" Riana said to which I nodded and went to the other side of the basement that was a little far from them.

I'm the only one here in this part but it's okay to have people with me, it's scarier to be alone.

While cleaning I didn't even notice that I go even further so I can't see them but I can still hear their movements.

While cleaning, I noticed a curtain with a blood stain that I pulled, I didn't think anything of it but when I got closer, it was a mark of a hand as if someone had held the curtain.

I poked at it to find out if it was paint but it wasn't rough, it was impossible to paint it.. I looked at the wall and I also saw that there was blood smeared there towards the.. door.

There's a door at the very end that I didn't even notice before, it's a strange door because it's steel and has a logo in the middle that's a skull and there's 'Mors' written on the top which I think is Latin and in English it's 'Death', the skull logo is not just a logo because I think I've seen it somewhere.

Suddenly there was a strong wind and the curtain was blown but I noticed something engraved on the back of it so I slightly opened it, I was surprised because there was an unfamiliar symbol, I have seen demonic symbols but this one is unfamiliar.

I haven't seen this type of démonic symbol before but I'm sure this is démonic because there's one eye on the middle like the illuminati.

It's made of blood too I think, my hair is rising again and my chest started pounding hard again, I closed the window and held my chest because of the nervousness.

Jusko what kind of demon is in this house.

"Psst" I stopped and slowly turned to the door when suddenly someone whistled, the door is too sacred so you can't see what's inside but I could hear the soft whistle.

"Shh!" I swallowed and my chest heaved again, I slowly walked closer to it while feeling around, I didn't hear any more hissing so when I got to the door I checked the sacred door and saw that there was a key that was also a skull logo same as front.

"Help.." I froze when I heard a whisper, it's coming behind this door so I put my ear to the door and stuck it there so I could hear properly but there's nothing I could hear anymore.

I straightened up and took a deep breath before turning my back to the door and walking away to go back to cleaning, but I hadn't even taken a few steps when I suddenly felt something push me with such force that I fell and hit my head on center of the table.

It hurt so much, I felt very dizzy but I heard someone giggle as if pissed off but I couldn't turn around. "Louis!! Jusko, Louis is Sonya.. Louis what happened? Your head is bleeding" Riana quickly came to me but I couldn't take it.

"Let's get him out of here" An assistant said and they helped me stand up but my head couldn't take it anymore so I lost consciousness.

I slowly opened my eyes when I felt something cold touch my neck and I saw Riana wiping my neck and Sonya was right next to her, I couldn't have felt better.

"Louis, it's good, you're awake, you had a very high fever and you were shivering a while ago, what's wrong?" Riana asked worriedly, I turned my gaze to manang Sonya who was staring at me seriously, as if she knew something about what was going on.

"M-may.. push me, but maybe it's just my imagination" I answered and smiled slightly so he wouldn't worry.

"You know it's not an imagination, get well soon because you're needed at home, Riana can't watch over you so take care of yourself" Manang Sonya said seriously and left. "That's the way it is, just let it go" Riana said next to me and I just nodded and looked at the ceiling.

"Riana.." I called her and she looked at me while wringing out a wet towel. "Ah nothing." I added and smiled a little, I didn't try to ask any more questions because I knew I wouldn't get an answer.

I just want to go back home and leave this place, because the more my curiosity deepens, the more I am doomed like what happened now.

Maybe next time I will be picked somewhere.

It's been 4 days but I still have a fever and it gets higher every night for some unknown reason, even Riana is surprised but I don't know why either.

"I think you should take a leave first, go home first and rest" said Manang Sonya whom I was talking to.

Maybe it's also because of the house why I'm like this, because I also feel heavy here at home as if something is bothering me.

After a while, Riana got my other things ready, not all of them because I will also be back. He handed me my things and we left the house together.

When we went out, I saw the guard again and he was always holding the book he was reading, he closed it and opened the gate but I was surprised because the logo of the book was the same as the symbol on the wall I saw in the basement.

"Riana-" My eyes widened when I saw Riana's neck with the same symbol but hers was a tattoo, I swallowed when Riana looked at me in surprise but I tried to smile at her.

I want to ask a question but no voice comes out of my mouth and I just want to get out of this place and I hope when I come back it will be different, I hope no more creepy things happen.

I wonder if all of them had a tattoo symbol like this.

We walked out of the gate and stood in front of where I got off when I first entered here but there was no car passing by, I remembered what the driver of the tricycle I rode said.

I feel dizzy again and my back and head are aching, it looks like I really need to take care of it.

"There are no cars passing here Louis, come I'll take you to the corner" Riana suddenly said that I just nodded because it looked like no one was really planning to pass by.

When we were leaving, we suddenly heard the sound of the engine signaling that a car was coming so we stopped, my eyes lit up when I saw a tricycle so I stopped.

"You're very lucky, Louis" I was surprised at what Riana said next to me but I didn't answer because the tricycle stopped in front of me.

He stopped in front of me and looked fearfully at the house, "Are you alone?" He asked as I frowned but immediately nodded. "Alright ride, hurry up, I won't last long in this place" He said and hurriedly turned on the engine.

I immediately put my stuff in and went inside and waved to Riana who also waved to me back before the tricycle sped away.

"Do you live there?" The man asked, "Ah, no. I'm working there" I answered.

"Working?" There was a trace of surprise in his voice that I also wondered, "Is there anyone else in that house, no one tries to pass that road because it is said that there is a curse because whoever passes there and something bad will definitely happen" said the man who was being beaten of my chest for some unknown reason.

It didn't take long before he dropped me off in town so I paid and walked away but I looked at the man again because I was still surprised by what he said.

But my eyes widened when I saw him without a head moving away, my whole body trembled and I seemed to be stoned from where I was standing.

I couldn't move and my whole body was filled with fear, I felt like all my blood was rushing to my head, and all the hairs on my body were also raised.

I thought those things were not true, but now that I have seen them myself, I feel like I want to think again that they are not true.

Louis Hermosa's POV

"Oh son, you're back home wait, why are you so pale?" Mommy asked immediately when I entered the house, she touched my forehead and that's when she realized I had a fever.

"Jusko Luois, your fever is very high" He made me sit on the sofa so I immediately leaned back, somehow I felt better when I entered it.

We are rich but not that rich, our house is quite big and my parents and siblings both have jobs.

Why am I working? I'm their youngest, I just don't want to depend on them for the things I want. I want to buy a lot and I can't ask them.

I was in my 2nd year of college when I quit and I thought about working first to save my tuition fee, or maybe I won't finish college and just look for a good job. But for now, I will train my body to work first, so I work as a housekeeper.

But in hindsight, I entered the wrong house. It was wrong that I entered that house.

"Louis oh, it's good that your sister is cooking pork stew, take a sip of it" He said placing the cup on the small table, his sister came out of the kitchen and came to him.

"You can take a bath first Louis so you can take care of yourself, you're fine and you're also very lethargic, mommy will just bring you food and medicine.. go ahead" My sister said making me sneer but she just ruffled my hair and smiled, she still treats me like a baby.

"Okay" I said with a smile and stood up feeling dizzy but I didn't show it and just walked towards my room.

When I got inside, I immediately went to the bathroom and undressed, I turned on the shower and suddenly my back hurt for an unknown reason that made me fall asleep.

I just finished the shower quickly and put on shorts before going out and looking for clothes in the cabinet so I turned my back to the door, I heard it open because it made a creak sound so it must have been mommy.

"What's behind you?" Mommy asked that I was scared, my sister gestured me to the mirror and she made me turn away from there so I turned my head.

Suddenly, my whole being was filled with fear and my heart was beating so hard because of what I was fighting. The symbol that I saw on the wall, in the guard's book and on Riana's neck is the same as the symbol behind me.

"Louis! Are you all right? Joana, get some water, hurry up" Mom said in a panic when my breathing suddenly became heavy, I was terrified because of what was happening.

How did I get this? He doesn't look like a tattoo, like he's been curved with a sharp object because the skin is still bloody and the carving is still fresh. I seem to be getting weaker and too many questions are entering my brain.

That's why my back hurts so much and maybe that's why I'm running a fever, I miss things too much.

"Tomorrow we will go to Mang Tomas, he knows a lot about this symbol and what I do know is that I saw a symbol like this in a book, I will try to find it for now, take some rest" my sister said worriedly but seriously to which I nodded, she gave me Mom gave me a dress and I put it on before going to bed.

"Don't think too much about anything Louis, we'll take care of it tomorrow, rest first" Sister said, I didn't answer and just rested even though I was thinking too much. But there is only one question that I want a proper answer to.

"Thank you very much" My sister gave me something that I don't know what it was but after that we left, while walking I looked again at what I was holding that I was going to drink. It had no taste when he gave it to me earlier.

"Louis where do you work?" My sister asked while we were walking, "Sa San Vicente Fernandez Village" I answered as she frowned.

"You believe what they say, I have friends here and there are a lot of us" I replied which calmed him down a bit, they have a lot of news in that house so it becomes mysterious.

"Do you have someone close to you?" He asked and I nodded.

"Yes sister, Riana is the only one talking to me there.. the people in that house are really weird-" I cut myself off when I saw her pale face, "Sister, what's the matter?" I asked softly.

"Louis that-"

"LOUIS!!!" We both looked in the direction of Khalix who was running towards us and when he got close he immediately hugged me, he really missed me.

"Why didn't you say you came home?! It's so sultry!" He sulked that made me giggle.

"Stop sulking Khalix, you're not a kid so you're not cute" I said laughing as he raised his eyebrows so I shook my head and looked in another direction, but my eyes widened because I saw someone wearing a black hoodie and up to his knees.

I couldn't see his face because it was covered by the hoodie but I could feel his eyes staring at me, he looked up slightly so I saw his red and curved lips smirking at me that raised my hair and made me nervous.

His sinister smile and the way he stares at me even though I couldn't see it, is making me feel nervous and scared.

So horrible.

"Louis, you should eat! This oh" Khalix handed me some fruit so I thanked him and took it before eating it.

The three of us just got home and Khalix just finished eating because mommy cooked, now Khalix is ​​feeding me fruit.

"By the way, aunt mentioned to me that you have a high fever- that's odd you never had a high fever before" He said while chewing.

I still can't get the black one out of my mind, the only thing suspicious is that he's still going along with what's happening now, my head hurts just thinking about it even though I don't want to think about it.

"Louis oh, how deeply you think" I immediately smiled at Khalix and ate the fruit he gave me again.

Khalix and I became friends because my sister and his father work together, my sister is a police officer so she knows a lot of cases.

"Me too, look who it's for" He said in wonder so I looked for my cellphone and found it under the blanket and I was surprised because it was my cellphone ringing.

"Oh that's yours! Maybe you changed your ringtone and then you just don't remember, you really forget" He said making my forehead furrow, that's impossible because I haven't touched my cellphone since earlier.. did my sister change it?

I open it and look who's the caller and my eyes widen because the caller name is 'Riana' but I don't remember that I gave her my phone number and she didn't give her phone number either.. I didn't he was seen holding a cellphone.

Where did she get my number?
