Elina hurried through the dimly lit streets, anxiety coursing through her veins. Detention had been dreadful, lasting longer than usual, and now she found herself walking home in the dead of night. The air was heavy with an eerie silence, broken only by the faint sound of her footsteps echoing against the pavement.
"You know peanuts, it would have been better if...if you didn't ditch me," she said over the phone, rolling her eyes in annoyance. She put her phone on the loudspeaker so she could talk to her friend easily.
"First of all, say my name right... I told you not to mess with that Tessa...she's a snake," her friend's voice echoed out throughout the space.
"You are useless... I'm taking a shortcut back home," It was a shame she got into a fight at school, now she was paying the consequences.
"You should be careful, after all, you are ... the Alpha's little bride," her friend said with giggles, Elina let out a sigh and disconnected the call. Of course, she didn't forget that little detail.
"Bitch," she spat out as she made her way through the thick forest, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. A chill ran down her spine, and she quickened her pace, her heart pounding in her chest. Little did she know, a group of rogue vampires had caught her scent and were trailing her, thirsting for her blood.
"Well, well...look who we have here," a deep, stern voice spoke just as a tall shirtless man appeared in front of her.
"W-who are you?" Elina asked nervously, sensing a strange aura radiating from him. The foul stench of blood coming from him made her feel nauseous.
"This is our territory little one," the man said with a smile, Elina fiddled upon seeing fangs "Boys! Our little meat is here...such a lovely smell you have...mmm," the man kept advancing. Elina knew when to run because now several shirtless men growling circled her.
"Vampires," she muttered, realizing her opponents weren't ordinary beings. Just as her fear reached its peak, Elina tripped over an exposed root, the pain searing through her ankle. She winced and struggled to stand up, her eyes darting around the darknes.
"Little one...you are specialities," their eyes glowing crimson with hunger, emerging from the shadows. Elina's heart raced as she assessed her situation. They closed in, their fangs bared, and their pale fingers reached out for her.
"Ahh! Let go of me!" She yelled, struggling to be free. The man who seemed to be the leader grabbed her by the neck, raising her off the ground.
"She's mine," the man slithered as he attempted to lick the side of her face.
"Ahh! No!" Elina felt her throat tighten with fear, knowing her lack of powers as a witch made her defenseless against these bloodthirsty creatures. She closed her eyes, preparing for the worst, when suddenly a chilling howl pierced through the night air.
"Who dares!" Startled, the vampires turned their attention towards the sound. Elina peeked through her fingers and was astounded to see a large golden wolf standing at the edge of the clearing, its eyes gleaming with intelligence. The vampires hesitated, unsure of the threat the wolf posed. Before they could make a move, the wolf lunged, its teeth sinking into the nearest vampire's arm.
"Damn it bitch!" The vampire man tossed her away, making her land against a tree and fell with a thud.
"Ahh," Elina gripped her shoulder while she retreated away to hide.
"Wolf...this is my territory...you just..." the vampire man tried to speak but in a split second, his friends were torn to shreds. Even Elina was stunned by the speed of the wolf.
"Fuck!" The vampire man resorted to running, realizing he was facing a formidable opponent. The wolf fought with a ferocity Elina had never seen before, claws slashing and teeth biting, overwhelming the vampires with its sheer strength and agility. It was a breathtaking dance of predator and prey.
"Oh no," she muttered, wondering who it was. "I should run," she quickly struggled to get up, this was her chance to run away. However, just then. A tall dark figure blocked her way.
"P-please...let me go...don't...," she fell to her knees and begged to be spared. The golden wolf was now in human form. What surprised her when she glanced up was that he was wearing a man.
"Impressive entrance," the stranger murmured, his voice deep and melodious, laced with an air of arrogance. "I hope you're not hurt."
Elina scrambled to her feet, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
"N-no, I'm fine," she stammered, trying to regain her composure. "Thank you... I guess."
A flicker of amusement flashed across his eyes as he held out a hand, to her surprise. His hand circled her fragile neck.
"P-please.... I..."
"Are you courting death... Little one?" The man asked sternly, Elina sucked in her breath when he pulled her to him and began sniffing her.
"Hmmm, such an unusual scent," the man groaned as he sniffed her neck, Elina could feel his hot breath on her vulnerable skin. His scent invaded her nostrils, taking over her.
"Who are you?" He groaned as he stopped and looked at her, his gaze penetrating her with an intensity that made her feel exposed, as if he could see through all her secrets. Elina's eyes were tightly shut, afraid of falling prey to the monster.
"Let me go!" She cried out, struggling to wiggle out of his hold. He didn't look like an ordinary wolf. His aura was something else and when.
"You're mine now," the man muttered as he sunk his teeth into her throat. Elina screamed in agony, realizing how sharp, no, no...wolves never drank blood.
"Vampire?" The thought of it caused her eyes to blur. Her heart raced in fear. Before she knew it, she began disconnecting from reality.
"Alpha," someone called out, getting the attention of the man, with ease, he moved away from the girl's throat. Blood trickling at the corners of his lips. His eyes shone with disdain at being interrupted.
"The enemies are eliminated,"
"Are you tired of living," saying that sternly, he tossed the girl back on the ground. With lightning speed, he disappeared from there. The intruder stared at the girl for a while, shaking his head. He also left from there.
As morning approached, the sun rose, shining above the sky. A small, fragile figure curled on the ground covered with leaves. Her luscious blonde hair covered half her face. She stirred in her sleep.
"Elina!" Someone was heard calling to her. "Where are you, Elina!" The voices kept advancing, getting closer.
"Ahh," Elina reached for her neck unconsciously, it stung so badly. "No," her eyes flickered open, rubbing them a little to adjust to the harsh rays of the son.
"Elina! Oh my gosh," before she could regain her senses, someone screamed startlingly at her.
"Mom." Elina called out only to see her cousin rushing to her. It was Violetta.
"What happened to you...we've been looking for you all night,"
"Ahh, h-help me up," Elina struggled to get up, her cousin was quick to help.
"Why are you here? What happened to you?" Her cousin fired her with countless questions, Elina didn't recall a thing, but why did her neck hurt so badly?
"I don't know..." she couldn't remember, however when she noticed blood on the ground...some images played before her eyes. 'You're mine,' the words echoed in her head suddenly.
"Alpha?" The word escaped her chapped lips, her cousin looked at her in awe.
"What alpha? Elina, don't tell me you're still scared of your future husband," her cousin said with a frown as they left from there.
Elina swore she met the Alpha. At least it was what she remembered. Either way, she wished not to see him. Who wanted to marry someone as ruthless as him?
"Forget it... I'm starving," she brushed such thoughts off and longed to get home. She was certain her mother was worried sick.
(Elina)
"What happened to you?"
"Nothing okay," I said while keeping my best friend at arm's length.
"You gotta be kidding...I was worried sick the last two days you didn't show up for school,"
"Forget it okay, it's not a big deal," I cut her off before she could go into her detective mode and ask me questions.
"This... this is a two-way thing... we need to come up with a plan"
"I'm not certain... sounds like trouble"
"Elina, we are trying to solve this... I mean... W-what if the rascal hurts you" Hazel whispered while glancing around the cafeteria. Many people were eating. Hazel was a pain in the neck. I thought we could come here and have a decent meal after sickening class. Unfortunately, she didn't stop nagging me about different plans to escape my betrothal.
"And I say cut it out... I told you about my secret...but that doesn't mean you should lecture me" I whispered back, not wanting anyone to hear our discussion. Hazel was my human friend. We attended the same school and did most mischievous things together. She was like my right hand. I couldn't do without her. However, she was full of crazy plans. I was already knowledgeable about everything.
"Last summer... you said the same and look at us... you are going to leave me...it's not fair" she whined while stuffing her face with fries. It was funny how cute she looked whenever she pouted.
"I can't go against traditions okay... it's inevitable... everyone does it... so why can't I" I was done investigating how to get out of the situation. Violetta was somehow right. I needed to embrace this.
"Plus I'll be a queen or princess... I mean whatever title I'll hold" I said nonchalantly and took a sip of my smoothie. It was about time,
"But there has to be love... or feelings... I mean..." Hazel said, waving her hands in the air dramatically when she was cut short.
"Hey, ladies" came a male voice that always had me blushing. I didn't have to turn around to know who it was.
"Hey, Andrew... what gives" it was Hazel who said. The heavy male cologne hit my nose. So masculine and beautiful. He pulled out a chair and sat down
"Hey Lina..." he said and, like a fool, I looked up at him and nearly melted. His lips curled upwards into a cute smile. Such beautiful blue eyes he had. Andrew was my human crush. He was 20 years old. His friends called him Andy; hence I did the same.
"Hey Andy... Late for lunch again" I teased and he chuckled. His voice was deep and fruity.
"Well, I had football practice... The coach didn't leave us alone," he said, and Hazel and I nodded. He was the star player. Handsome and liked by all the girls.
"I'm sure your coach is an asshole...why would he jeopardize your lunch...how crazy, "Hazel remarked, she had a loose mouth? Despite the many gestures, I was giving her to shut the heck up. She didn't do so.
"Okay... So now gotta run...buy Andy, "Hazel said as if realizing we wanted to be alone. I would rather not be alone with Andy. My brain didn't function well whenever he was around. "Bye Elina. I'll text you at night" She said her goodbyes and left the cafeteria. By now, some students were leaving. Our classes were done for the day. Hence, I just had to have lunch and then return home.
"So... how about a walk?" Andy said, turning back to me. It was awkward between us. I didn't know what to say when he was smiling cutely at me.
"Okay... I mean, if you would rather not have lunch... What am I saying, of course you need to eat something... should I call the waiter and..."
"Lina" Andy cut me off and like a fool, I buried my face in my palms. Exhaling heavily, I didn't know how I got like that whenever he was around.
"It's okay... I'll order something to go... come," he said in between chuckles and reached for my hand. I didn't know what to do. But seeing his smooth hand with clean long fingers, I couldn't resist but take it, and he pulled me off the chair.
Soon we left the cafeteria, and we started heading toward the football field. By now it was empty. There was a secret garden there. It was beautiful and quiet. Andy normally studied there.
"You are never around. I mean, it's been years, and you still haven't invited me over for lunch to meet your family" Andy said as we walked, I had my smoothie cup in my hand. While he had a bottle of lime soda. Andy was on the gangster side. Wearing dark clothes with a leather jacket and boots. His brown hair fell over his face.
"Well... my dad is kind of strict... he won't let me," I said, making up an excuse. I didn't know what to tell him when I didn't belong here.
"Oh...then I'm sure he has to meet me and decide... tell you what...how about I come over," he said and like a fool, I froze in place. Andy stopped in his tracks and glanced back.
"What?" he asked, narrowing his eyes a little
"Well... I mean, Dad"
"He-he chill sweetheart... I won't force you... it's just that" he said with a chuckle and unexpectedly grabbed my hand. The electric current which flowed through me was something I couldn't understand. At the same time. I couldn't bear it.
"No!" the word left my mouth and stepped backwards.
"What is it... I didn't do anything wrong, right" he muttered and walked closer to me. By now we had both stopped at a hidden place.
"Umm, well... I have to go... Mom"
"Elina" he called out my name softly, this was my problem. I turned into a fool whenever he was around.
"I'm having a birthday party tomorrow. You didn't forget did you" he asked and attempted to hold my hand. I withdrew before he could do so.
"O-of course... How can I forget" damn it, I completely forgot about this? He already handed over birthday invitations. Andrew was a star of the school. Every girl wanted to have peace with him and I had a feeling he had a tiny thing for me.
"Please come...for the first time I want you for my birthday" he murmured, the urge to look up at him was imperative, but unfortunately, I kept my head lowered.
"I... I have to go" I said in a rush and stormed away from there. I didn't know if I would attend his birthday.

As soon as I reached home, I snuck towards my room, when suddenly I heard voices coming from my uncle's room.
"Dad... I would rather not, okay!" I heard Jasmine yelling as soon as I landed. She was my cousin, the beloved daughter of my uncle who wanted nothing to do with me because I had no powers.
"I won't let you do this to my beautiful daughter... She deserves a better man than a monster" This time it was Aunt Aural who shouted.
"You are a foolish girl... marrying the Werewolf king will be beneficial for you... you'll hold power" my uncle said, It seemed uncle was again forcing Jasmine to be the Alpha's betrothal, not me.
"Over my dead body will I let you marry off my daughter to a monster" it was the aunt who said. It was funny to hear. I didn't know how to react. So, I was suitable for the monster.
"Dad even if I have to marry some Werewolf... at least not an ugly one...you said it yourself... The alpha is so ugly Dad... why would you wish for me to marry him" Jasmine inquired, it was strange. Even I thought the eldest daughter was suitable for the Werewolf king. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, I quickly dusted myself and left from there
I had to see Mom before I headed to bed.
"For now, just make sure that girl marries him... maybe those wolves will leave us alone... plus... don't you want to rule the supernatural world?" Aural said and gracefully sat down. Collins paced around before he stopped before his wife. Jasmine stood to the sides.
"Dad, this is a good opportunity for you to be the official king... if you marry me off to that monster... then Elina has to stay and be our leader," Jasmine said with a smirk. Everyone knew their grandma favored Elina and her sister. The old woman even appointed Elina as the next leader of the clan.
"Honey, just think... we are doing her a favor here... marrying her off to that monster will kill two birds with one stone, "Aural remarked shrewdly, her husband was naive. He only thought about power, not his future.
"I see what you are saying, but..."
As soon as I reached my mom's room, I found her going through a few books. My mom was beautiful, calm, and kind-hearted. To my shame, she resembled my sister more than me. Both my sister and Mom had dark hair and dark eyes
No wonder I was called a freak. My hair color and eyes were different from the rest
"You came early today... no tests" my mom asked without even turning around. With a smile, I rushed to her and hugged her from behind.
"Sweet mother, you know I can't stay away from you," I said, tightening my grip around her. The reason I didn't want to go was because of my mom and sister.
These two meant the world to me. Leaving so soon was hurting me... I had to take care of them both. Who knew what would happen if I left
"Young lady, do you need anything?" Mom asked and shrugged me away. Of course, she knew me very well.
"Mom...come" Grabbing her hand I led her to the sofa. She sat down gracefully and I did the same. Looking at her, she seemed worried. I wanted to ask but dropped the idea
"Is this about moving to the..."
"No, mom... that's not it... I wondered... well, hypothetically asking" I said, cutting her off, her brows creased questionably, and I knew what she was thinking.
"Mom, why does the alpha king need a virgin female... I mean, why here... I thought all werewolves preferred breeding with their kind" This had always been my question, in human books I read about werewolves... most of them mated with their kind. It was a crime to mate outside the clan
"Sweetie... those are traditions...the alpha king is a special being... his mate has to be pure and untouched by other men," my mom said, cupping my face, her smile was beautiful and warm. The glimmer in her eyes made me feel relaxed. Unfortunately, I didn't think so.
"So...what happens if... well, his betrothal loses her virginity," I asked hesitantly and the expression I got from her made me rethink my question.
"Young lady," Mom said, widening her eyes as if suspicious of me.
"Relax... I'm asking on behalf of a friend... well, we were arguing about myths...so... I"
"The alpha has to choose another female and..." Mom was about to explain when the door suddenly opened. Both of us shifted our gaze to whoever entered without knocking and
"Hi auntie... Dad requested to see you" it was Grace said cheekily. She didn't even wait for my mom's reply and left.
"Before you go....well, since I won't be around... mom, my human friends..."
"There's a birthday party right... you can go... say goodbye and come back safely" Mom said without even me explaining to her. All I did was hug her for a little while, and then she left. The door closed and I sat there.
"Yes!" this was what I wanted to hear... It seemed there was still time for me to escape this
"Elina, it's time to lose your V-card, "I muttered, smiling to myself. At last, I found a solution. If I wasn't a virgin. Of course, they wouldn't want me. Then I was certain Jasmine would be the replacement.
Thinking up here, I knew what to do.
It seemed going to the party tomorrow night was my chance, any human male will be okay as long as I lost my virginity.
"But..." I walked to the dressing mirror. "This..." I ran my fingers on the dark mark from the previous night, the fang marks didn't disappear. Whoever that werewolf was, I hated him.

In a grand and opulent mansion, adorned with ornate detailing and surrounded by perfectly manicured gardens, stood a magnificent structure that exuded elegance and extravagance. The exterior walls shimmered in the golden light, cascading a sense of importance and mystery to those who beheld it.
In the heart of this unparalleled residence, the study room boasted towering bookshelves lined with leather-bound volumes, emitting an air of intellect and sophistication. The room was dimly lit, with richly patterned curtains swinging gently with the faint breeze. The soft glow from a chandelier overhead illuminated a large wooden table, where a masked man dressed entirely in black sat, his presence emanating both power and intrigue.
"Alpha," his right hand walked in and bowed respectfully.
"Did you find her?" He asked, his eyes narrowed into slits. Tension permeated the air as his assistant hesitated, his gaze locked onto the ground. He took a deep breath, gathering his courage, before informing him that they were still hunting for any trace of the elusive girl.
"We lost track of her...not even her scent could be detected," he replied, this was the first time he had seen such a thing. A girl with such a unique scent.
"You didn't find her? Then what the fuck are you doing here!" A muffled rage resonated through the Alpha's voice as he slammed his hand onto the polished surface of the table, causing the assistant to involuntarily flinch. The sound echoed as a proclamation of his frustrations and the urgency of his mission.
"I...we.."
His dark eyes bore into the assistants, their fire reflecting a mixture of anger, determination, and a trace of hidden emotion. The Alpha's voice, raw and commanding, resonated within the room, cutting through the silence.
"Find her," he declared firmly, emphasizing each word. "Leave no stone unturned, no shadow unexplored. I want her brought to me." That night he had important things to attend to. But he didn't know a little girl would have such a huge impact on him.
"Yes alpha," The assistant, trembling slightly, nodded in understanding and silently vowed to carry out the Alpha's. He knew the fate that awaited those who failed to fulfill his demands.
"Prepare for tonight," the alpha ordered and rose to his feet. His right hand glanced up in confusion.
"Alpha, tonight...it's the full moon...I'm afraid," he started, not sure how to say it. The Alpha's gaze shifted to the window, night was approaching. The distant howling of wolves reminded him of what was approaching.
"Be on the lookout," he said sternly and his right hand retreated from the study..as the room remained quiet. Angel slowly reached for his chest.
"Damn it," he let out curses as he sat down, he wanted that girl at all costs. His wolf was getting restless. He wanted her to devour her and take her. This was strange.
