Elvira Duncan blinked and slowly squeezed her eyes opened . Her head felt numb and her body was paralyzed.

She couldn't move her body as swiftly as she wanted.Because of this, a lone tear streamed down her cheeks.

Waking up from a coma after such a long time, she was bound to feel this way.

She got hit by a car,a week ago while trying to save her boyfriend, Jack Morris from an accident.

The accident was so severe that she fell into coma and the doctors lost hope of her full recovery.

However, a miracle happened and she opened her eyes within just a week.

Elvira and Jack met a few years ago while working on jewelry design contest in college .They quickly clicked and fell in love.

The couple planned to get married in two weeks.However, Elvira went into a coma before then.

Thinking of how Jack handled her accident while taking care of the company,she felt pity for him.

She simply wanted to get up to get things done for the upcoming Jewelry Design competition which will change their lives forever .

Winning this competition,will ensure that Jack get his hands on his family's inheritance as well as mark his influence in the industry.

She didn't want him to miss this chance because of her.

She wanted to make sure that Jack wins the contest.

Just as she attempted to move her body,Elvira heard familiar voices drawing closer to her room.

Elvira quickly laid back on the bed and pretended to still be asleep.

"Jack,I can't wait any longer,let's just get married already.How long are you going to continue waiting for this vegetable?"

The voice belonged to Chloe Miller.She was Elvira's best friend.

They have been friends since first years in college.Elvira took it upon herself to help her pass out in flying colors.

When Elvira heard these words.She was immediately disheartened

Elvira couldn't believe that her best friend was truly having an affair with her fiancé .

"You told me that you didn't love her.How come you are still not married to me? If you continue like this,then I'm going to break up with you.Jack,I'm serious,if you don't get a marriage certificate with me tomorrow,I'll end my life!"

Chloe continued in a stern voice.Her eyes was teary and she looked serious.

"I'm going to become the best designer in Horington city after my new design wins an award.It will announce my status in the industry and tons of opportunities will come knocking on our doors.Why would you still need her?

"Celestial Group is going to become the top company in the entire Horington city after you won the contest in two days.You will also become a top designer.With this new status,we can be rest assured that we can take a leap without fear"

"However,how can we achieve this feat without Elvira? She is our golden ticket.Think! Get your mind to work,Chloe!" Jack held her hands and said,while looking into her eyes.

Chloe was speechless for a couple of seconds.It looked as if her sense organs had been struck by reality.However,the next splitting second,she angrily flung Jack's hands away.

She pushed him away and pointed her fingers at his face and said,"Do you take me for a fool? How is Elvira of any help to us? She is just a vegetable.She can't do anything"

Chloe looked at Elvira,lying helplessly on the bed as she uttered those words.

"This is all your fault.It was your fault that Elvira got into the accident.You shouldn't have hired those men to attack her in the first."

Jack Morris glared angrily at Chloe.

The sound of his voice echoed through the room and Elvira went numb upon hearing these words.

"If you hadn't hurt her then she would have been well and hearty.Infact,she would have completed the final touch of the designs."

"Not only that,we would gotten the final products of her designs.Now,we are stuck in this situation,thanks to you."

Jack looked frustrated.He glared furiously at Chloe.

"Wait,are you blaming me? I did everything because I loved you.I didn't want her getting in between us.How could you blame me for this? Moreover,she is not even aware that I sent those men"

"Look here,Jack,you and I know that Elvira is not smart enough to decipher the reality before her.She won't even think that I would do such a thing to her."

"Of course,she can't think of it because I made it look like my rivals were after me and she took the fall for me."

Jack said as his eyes darted towards Elvira.

"Tell me,is that the reason you refuse to marry me? Have you suddenly fallen in love with her since she became your super heroine?"

Chloe asked,her expression changed.

"Not again,Chloe! I told you,we still need her to grow the status of the company"

"Alright,we still need her but that didn't stop us from getting married behind the scenes,right?"

Chloe blinked her eyes and looked at Jack seductively.

"Are you being serious? What if she finds out when she wakes up? We'll be at a dead end"

"You worry too much for a brilliant mind.Elvira is not smart enough to detect"

Chloe was so sure about it.

"Fine,let's get the marriage certificate first thing tomorrow morning.After that,I'll ask the doctor to force Elvira into an inducement"

Jack said and his eyes glow with eeriness.

Elvira gritted her teeth and widened her eyes wishing she could stand up and beat up the shameless couple.

The tone of their voices sent anger down her throat and she felt terribly nauseated.

She clenched her fists so tightly that it ended up digging deep into her palms and blood oozes.

Doing this,she tried to suppress the anger in her chest and tried to avert the desire to walk up to them right then.

She never expected that her whole life will end up like this!

Elvira Duncan came to the limelight three years ago after winning the Fame Jeweler Competition

Because of this,her popularity sprang out through out the country and she got many opportunities.

Many notable companies in Horington offered her employment opportunities,including one from Ethereal Jewelry.

However,she was too busy helping out Jack Morris.So,she rejected all the offers that came her way.

She was so engrossed with helping Jack grow the branch of the Morris Group -Celestial Jewels that was given to him as part of his growing up test that she lost track of things.

Two years she was ousted from a contest when someone accused her of plagiarism.

The entire world criticized and made fun of her efforts.She searched the entirety of her designs but she couldn't find a fault with her work.

Jack Morris,was by her side at this time.

Jack proposed that Elvira worked behind the scenes while Chloe attended the competitions and get the credits.

She thought that Jack loved and valued her presence that was why he wanted her to take charge of things.

However,she was just another puppet in their hands.

The audacious couple has been lovesick while she took the force upon herself to help Jack grow the business without any help from the two of them.

Suddenly,she found that she had been fooled by them

Thinking about,made her dwell in self mockery as it occurred to her that the signs were there.

Being fretful for quite a long time.Elvira finally heard the footsteps of the slime ball and the vamp departing the room.

Thankfully,it was dead of the night.So,nobody could see that she was awake without coming closer.

Also,her ward room was farthest from the rest of the rooms in the hospital,it was safe for her to roam around without discovered.

She quickly stood up from the bed and frantically search through the bed stand.

Her lips coiled into a thin smile when she found her phone in the drawer.

It was a good thing that her phone didn't get damaged during the accident.

Elvira picked up the phone and searched through her contact lists.

"I need your help right now.Can you bring me a few documents from my house?"

Elvira said,immediately the call got connected.

"Wait,are you a ghost? Are you really awake now?

"I don't have much time.I'll send you the details of the items I need"

Elvira hung up the phone after that and sat down on the bed with tears in her eyes.

"This is the last time,I'll cry for you.Now,I'll make you two cry"

After a sleepless night,Elvira finally heard footsteps drawing closer to her ward in the early hours of the following day.

She quickly fell back on her bed and faked coma.

Soon enough,the person walked into the room in her high heels.

"Vira is still in a coma.Did I get pranked by someone last night?"

Sandra Jones looked at the slumbering figure of Elvira and signed.

"I can't believe I'm so stupid.How could Vira call me when she clearly in a coma!".

She slapped her head and walked to the bed.She sat beside Elvira and took her hand into hers.

"I wish you listened to me from the start.You don't know what is going on around here.Please,wake up soon,Vira,I can't live without you"

Sandra teared up as she said these words.She was so emotional.

Her tears fell on Elvira and she quickly retracted her hand.

"You didn't have to act like such a baby,Sandra.I'm not dead". Elvira puckered her lips and winked at Sandra.

Sandra was flabbergasted by this,she left her mouth wide open and couldn't say anything.

However,in the next splitting second,she got over her shock and was about to squeak when Elvira grabbed a hold of her.

She covered her mouth with a palm to stop her from screaming.

"What do you think you are doing? Are you trying to get me in trouble?" Elvira whispered in her ears.

"Shut up and sit here.Don't say a thing "

Elvira pointed to the bed,and Sandra sat down confusedly.

"Have you brought the items I asked you to bring along? Where are my identity card?"

Elvira asked.

"Here,I brought them.What are you going to do with them? Sandra seem worried.

"You don't have to worry about a thing.Also the model,where is...."

"He'll wait for you at the registry. I told him everything and he is willing to succumb". Sandra said before Elvira could finish her question.

"Good,I know I could always trust you.Thank you,bubble Gum" Elvira smirked as she took a look at the papers in her hands.

"What's that? I told you not to call me that!" Sandra feigned exasperation and wrinkle her face in anger.

"Sorry ,sugar gum." Elvira smirked. "One more thing,I need you to go to the bank and get the finished product of the Fire Pearls along with the documents .I need to make use of it now". Elvira swivels to look at Sandra.

"Are you sure about what you are doing? What's going on? Tell me!" Sandra was agitated.

"I'll let you know soon enough.Just do as I say,we don't have much time. Chloe and Jack will be here in five hours". Elvira said,looking out the window.

"Here we go again.It's always about Chloe and Jack,I don't understand you at all. When will you wake up from this dire dream?"

Sandra said annoyingly.

"I'm in love with him.Just don't worry about me"

"Fine,I'll go arrange everything" Sandra picked up her bag and looked at Elvira once more.

"Let's go". Elvira changed her clothes and said.

"Oh my gosh!! It's getting really late!"

With a speeding pass,Elvira pushed open the door of the cab she boarded.

As soon as she came down from the car,she looked around the place while chewing a bubble gum.

The place was as remote as she had hoped, but the person she was looking for wasn't here.

She frantically glanced at her watch. It was already seven in the morning, the model was still out of sight.

Did she come late or was the man himself late? Wait? What if he left already?

Elvira soliloquies as she look around for the restroom.Upon sighting the bathroom,she went in and locked herself up there.

She sat on the toilet seat and brought out her phone and looked at the series of messages sent by Sandra.

"Vira,I have informed the man to meet up with you near the Town registry.Don't waste time,he's a struggling model and he needs all the assistance to elevate himself.He also needs a place to stay. Don't drool over him,Honey gum ,he's not into girls"

This unknown model was the only hope that Elvira had.

The worst part is,her witless friend failed to share the photo of the man. On top of that,Sandra's phone is not going through.

Thinking of this,Elvira was mad.How could the so called serious business minded model not in sight yet?

Frustrated, Elvira came out of the restroom and went to the wash basin to wash her hands

The way her ex-fiancé and her best friend cheated on her,behind her back, it had drained her emotionally and mentally.

"God! I need to find this man. I need to show those ungrateful guys who they are messing with."

She came out of the restroom area letting

her eyes slide over the hall. She missed a heartbeat when she found a tall man in a blue shirt sitting on the corner table. He had a laptop opened in front of him and in no way did he seem like a struggling model.

She could not see his face because of his

head buried in his laptop screen, but he was

rearing a branded suit. May be because he

was a model and needed to take care of his

appearance.

"Oh, thank God! Thank God! He is here!

Thank you, Sandra.

She sent a silent hug to her best friend and

moved towards the table. When he did not raised his head.

She tapped her fingers on the table. The man raised his head and was surprised!

The man raised his head and holy fire!

She forgot to breathe. She wanted to remind

herself that she was not dreaming.

Damn you, Sandra. Why didn't you mention

that he was crazily , sizzling hot! Shit

man! This handsome man is gay!

"If you are done checking me out, I have

work to do." A deep male voice appeared close to her. His icy blue eyes were staring into

her green ones.

"My gosh! He was a Greek God! And ... he was

looking... at her!

Oh! He was waiting for her to speak. How foolish she was!

"Um. I... I am Elvira Duncan . I .." She

stuttered and then felt like a fool. While extending her hand towards him expecting

handshake.

But instead of reaching out to hold it, he kept staring at her,placing his fist under his chin.

She felt a little uncomfortable. This guy is so hot but he also appeared to be a certified bastard! . Gosh! She needed him.

Despite how she felt at this moment.He was still her one and only hope.

With a fake, over bright smile, she sat in front of him, "Listen Drake!" When she called his name he eyed her as if she had gone crazy.

The man did look like the movie star,Drake Stanton . But she did not want to offend him by teling him that.

"Sandra must have told you about my desperate desire to marry someone."

"Excuse me?" A sharp flicker of interest

shimmered in his eyes.

"Listen Drake,. Sandra told me everything

about you. I have got this cozy apartment , with a small bed. You can move in with me later and take the bed if you want"

Now she got his attention and placed her

hand on his arm, "My money is being held up by someone but I'm going to find a way to pay you soon enough .Once I will recover it. I will pay you handsomely. I can also help you with your struggling career. I have got friends in the

modeling industry."

She did not want to sound desperate but

was there any choice? For the first time, she noticed the ice cracking in his eyes.

He eyed her hand lying on his arm. She saw a trace of fervor . But it was there just for a moment. She could swear she saw it.

"So what do you say?" He realized, she as waiting for his answer.

"When do you want this marriage thing,Miss?

"What? It's Elvira. Let's get married soonest.Whatever suits your schedule.I just don't want over delay "

"How about now? Is it possible to get married now?" He raised his brows and said.

"Really?" She was not expecting him to agree so readily.She thought she would have had to talk him into it but he just agreed without a fuss.

"Let's get married now.Otherwise,don't blame me for backing out later".

He stood up from the chair,closed his laptop and got ready to exit the place.

He also saw Elvira getting up from her seat and walking towards him while rounding the table,with her hips wriggling and sexy long legs.

Elvira once noticed him,giving her a full outlook but she didn't care to ask about it.

This was not the best time.

Elvira thought she was ready for everything that was going to happen henceforth.But,she was gravely mistaking.

Her heart fluctuated at the thought of a contract marriage. She smiled and looked at the handsome man in front of her.

"Let's go"

They got married and came out of the marriage hall with a legal marriage certificate in their hands.

Elvira came to this place by a cab for which Elvira had paid for.She stood along side Drake.

After taking a proper glance at the marriage certificate.She looked up to Drake peering at her.

"Where are you going from here?" He asked.

Elvira pursed her lips and thought of something.

"Right now,I have an important work related matter to take care of,Drake.Bid me good luck" She smiled at him after saying the words.

After that,she pull out a piece of paper from her bag and a pen. She inscribed something on it and handed it over to him.

"I have written down my address on this paper.Go pick up your things and move in with me.I'll wait for you at home when I'm done with my meetings"

Woth that,she stretched her hand and handed him the piece of paper.

"I'll like to keep our marriage a secret from everyone.I'm telling you,just so you don't go bragging to your friends and ruin me"

Adter that she began walking towards the cab stand.Unbeknownst to Elvira,the man had his eyes glued on her as she walked.

The sound of his phone ringing jerked the man back to reality as he dipped his hands into his pocket and brought out the phone.

"Calvin,my man! What on earth are you,"

"Henry! What happened? Is there something wrong?"

"Nothing has happened as of now but something terrible is going to happen if you don't get married before the end of today.The old man has been calling agitatively and Melanie's phone is out of network coverage. I'm aware that she agreed to get married to you inexchange for the sum of 15 millions dollars this evening.If that amount is not enough for her,then I think you should double the amount and give her 30 million instead.We don't have much time left till evening"

Calvin patiently to his friend's complaints.Thrn,he spoke,"Forget about Melanie.We don't have any use for her now.Damn her and her payment."

"In between that,I just got married to a beauty" He bragged.

"What? You did what?" Henry on the other side of the line was flabbergasted.

"I just got married.Now,my old shouldn't even try to give my position to anybody else.I am sending a picture of me at my wedding,show it to the old man and ask him to get off my tail."There was a trace of sarcasm in his tone as he spoke.

"How did you handle everything so soon,man! How much is her fee? Is she charging more or less that what Melanie wanted?"

"That is the good news,Henry. I'm not the one paying her for the services,instead she is the one paying me and also offered a place to stay as well as a job."

"She is what? It's unbelievable! Don't tell me it's true!" Henry choked while taking a sip from his glass of liquor and holding back his laughter.
