Chapter 1 Encountering The Arrogant Jerk

Eleanora

"Is this how you ladies act? You stalk wealthy men so you can leech off them?" The man in front of me yelled drawing the attention of those in the restaurant to us.

"Sir, I think you are misunderstanding me. What are you talking about? I don't under...."

"Save your lies, I don't want to hear them." His lips drew back in a snarl his cold voice cutting me off.

What a great day! I sighed trying to keep my cool as I peered at him. His eyes were filled with contempt as they looked down at me.

I had to be polite to this rude customer regardless, it was the reason why I hated the saying customers are always right. I took a deep breath still staring at him, he had hazel eyes, which were charming but fierce as well, there was something enticing about those eyes, they could make someone get lost in them. That wasn't his only noticeable feature, he had full dark beautiful brows, a straight nose that highlighted his face and luscious pink lips. His black shiny hair fell on his shoulders, he was very tall probably 6ft3. Scolding myself mentally for drooling over him, I reminded myself that even though the man was enticing he was this good looking but his character was the total opposite, repulsive.

"Wow, I thought you were just a stalker but you are way more than that, are you this desperate? I don't do your type, you are not my type." The man mumbled his lips curling up in disgust as his eyes crinkled.

"I have only come to take your order, sir, what would you like to have?" I asked again ignoring his cruel words.

"You!" The man answered staring at me. His response made me cock my head to look at him.

I couldn't help but wonder if this man only had a bad attitude or if he had lost his mind as well. I curled my fist in a ball and nibbled on my lower lip trying my very best not to lose the last bit of patience I had left in me.

"Excuse me! Are you out of your mind, what do you think? That every lady you see is interested in you or your money. I'm sure no lady will want a man with such a dirty attitude." I snapped the moment I lost every bit of patience left in me. I watched as the man's eyes widened and surprise crossed his face.

"Don't you dare talk to me in that tone, I wonder who the hell employed someone as rude as you are to be a waiter. And do not act like all I said wasn't the truth. I know you want to warm my bed, isn't that what you want? I'm giving you a chance, and you are acting this way or is it because I said it in front of all these people? Tell me how much do you want?" He smirked, his eyes scanning my face.

"You are an idiot, you lack common sense and I think you should use that money to get yourself a brain replacement and some manners!" I fired back, my fist clenched tightly, anger coursing through every one of my veins.

"Eleanor, is that the way to speak to a customer?" I heard Mr Frank's voice making me shift my gaze from the man. Mr Frank was the manager of the restaurant, he was now standing beside me. He must have heard the commotion going on and decided to come see what was happening and I was glad he did.

"I'm sorry Sir, but I just couldn't take it anymore. This man right here lacks manners," I stated.

"Eleanor, have you forgotten the rules? Never be rude to a customer, they are always right remember?" He said fixing his eyes on me, his lips pressed together, and he shook his head in disappointment.

"You need to teach your workers how to behave with customers. She is rude!" The man whose name I didn't know spoke. I returned my gaze to him, I hated the sound of his voice, it made my ears ache.

"I'm sorry Eleanor but this man right here is reputable, you are fired! I can't risk letting you treat any more of our customers this way." Mr Frank uttered.

"Fired..." I stuttered unable to believe my ears. I became speechless her eyelid blinking rapidly as she tried to process what I had just heard, it was barely three months since I started working here and now I was getting fired all thanks to this arrogant man who had an ego twice his size.

"Don't worry, I'll pay you your full salary since only five days are left before the end of the month, also you've been a great worker here, I'm sad it has to end this way," Mr Frank said to me before turning his attention to the Man.

"I'm sorry sir, I hope you don't hold this against us." Mr Frank let out putting on a small smile, the man nodded before taking his seat.

I glared at the man expecting to see guilt or remorse but there was none, his face held no expression. I shook her head in annoyance before walking away and headed to the worker quarters.

Getting there, I untied my apron and took it off. Picked up my jacket which was on the chair and slipped it on, and then reached for my sling bag which was lying on the table, when I was sure I had all of my things, I made to leave but heard someone call my name, I turned and it was Aria one of my coworkers.

"Where are you going? Is there a problem?" Aria asked approaching me.

"Well, I got fired so I have to leave." I let out, a pronounced sigh escaped my lips.

"Fired! Why?" Aria asked her eyes narrowed and she cocked her head.

Eleanor sighed, " Well I had to deal with a rude customer and I just lost it," she answered biting the inside of my cheek.

"I'm sorry, the customer must have crossed all limits I guess, you are not the type to be rude, I can talk to the manager he might reconsider his decision," Aria mumbled placing her hand on my shoulder. Her eyes moistened and she pouted, I knew she was unhappy that I was leaving, we had become close since I started to work in the restaurant, Aria who was much older treated me like her daughter.

"It's fine, I'll miss you," I smiled hugging her, I was trying to lighten up the mood after seeing the expression on Aria's face.

"Me too, take care of yourself," Aria smiled after we disengaged the hug.

"Finally you are leaving, at least now we know who the rude one is," Kathryn mocked. She had always hated me ever since I started to work at the restaurant. I huffed turning to face her.

Kathryn was always picking up fights for the silliest reasons and no one was spared from her hostility. Kathryn was always on the go to sabotage me. She was always grumpy and impolite to coworkers but it was really surprising that she got along with customers, she was like a chameleon.

"Come on Kathryn, can't you be nice for once?" Aria cautioned crossing her arms.

Kathryn glared at Aria before shifting her to me, she gazed at me intensely her mouth curling up with dislike. She rolled her eyes before bursting into laughter.

"I thought you were the best worker, the manager's favourite or did that change so quickly, I pity you." She chortled before she continued. "I lied, I don't pity you, you deserve this you've always acted like you own the place, I guess now you know where you belong." She snickered before walking off.

Aria turned to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. " You shouldn't take her words to heart, I wish she could learn to be nice."

I chuckled lightly and bobbed my head," You are right, and I didn't take any of those things she said seriously. I'd heard that a thousand times so it's like music in my ears, bad music actually." I shrugged which made Aria laugh.

I said my goodbyes to the rest of the workers before leaving the premises. I got home about thirty minutes later since I had to wait for the bus to arrive. Getting home, I met Peyton seated on the couch.

"Hey Peyton, you are home. I thought I wouldn't find anyone home, " I mumbled.

Peyton tilted her head to look at me, she hissed rolling her eyes at me.

"Why are you home by this time of the day? Shouldn't you be at the restaurant working?" She asked.

"I got fired," I told her plopping on the couch.

"Huh, you are kidding right?" Peyton exclaimed not taking her gaze off me.

"No, I'm not. And why are you acting like you care," I arched my brows in confusion. I knew very well that my cousin Peyton didn't give a damn about me except she had something to gain from it.

"You know what mom is going to do when she finds out that you got fired," Peyton mocked shaking her head.

"Just leave me be girl, you've never had a job ever since you graduated college and yet no one has bugged you about it," I retorted. Peyton's brows furrowed into a frown, she wasn't expecting me to say that to her but I had to. Since Peyton graduated from college, she never thought it was necessary to get a job since her mom provided all she needed, and her group of friends were super-wealthy and had open hands so she leeched off them.

"Don't say that to me, I'm sure you know no one is going to cater for you right, you are an adult." Peyton shrugged, she opened the box of pizza which was beside her, picked a slice and munched on it.

"Umm, yummy!" She muttered burping loudly.

"Eww girl, that's rude." I scowled covering my nose with her hands.

"Whatever!" Peyton shrugged and continued to chew noisily while glancing at me, that moment I knew she was doing all of that just to spite me.

"You want some?" Peyton asked stretching the half-bitten slice of pizza which was in her hand to me.

Just then the door creaked open and Nova walked in.

"Hey girl, how are you?" I smiled straightening myself from the couch and hugged her.

We got seated after disengaging the hug.

"I'm good, I had to go to the restaurant they told me you left because you were fired. You deserve a much better job than that, it is their loss after all." Nova grinned. When her gaze darted to Peyton her countenance changed, her eyes darkened, and her skin stretched into a snarl.

"Didn't see you there Peyton," she jibed.

Peyton chuckled rolling her eyes," Like I care." Seeing the tense atmosphere, I knew I had to intervene before it escalated into a fight since the two had a dislike for each other.

"I'm glad you brought pizza, I'm famished. I was almost tempted to take some pizza from Peyton when she offered me," she yawned.

"What, I'm sure the pizza must have been infested with her no joy only trouble syndrome." Nova joked turning to me, I was trying so hard to stop herself from bursting Into laughter.

Peyton scoffed gawking at both of us then she burst out into hysterical laughter," So funny! Hahaha!"

"Did you really think I was offering you pizza? Never! Go work for yours!" She snapped.

Nova moved her gaze to Peyton, she folded her arms across her chest grimacing at her. " Just like you worked for yours on a man's bed right? Well, Eleanor isn't that type."

Peyton's eyes widened, and she bit her lips glancing away in embarrassment, she seemed to have lost words but when she finally regained composure, she forced a burst of laughter. " You'll pay for this insult," she threatened with her visage contorting in anger before storming out of the living room.

Chapter 2 Seeing Him Again

"Werewolves, come on now Nova, that's the funniest joke of the century. I've told you over and over again that werewolves don't exist. Those are just myths." I mumbled trying to stop my mirth but I ended up bursting into laughter again. Nova loved to talk about werewolves and regardless of what I always said, it wasn't enough to make her stop believing that werewolves weren't real.

"I wonder why you find this funny anytime I bring it up. Werewolves do exist, one day you would believe me and I would tell you that I told you so." Nova huffed peeking at me but I laughed even more ignoring her icy look.

Me and Nova have been friends for quite some time now, someone who didn't know us would think that we were related because of how much we cared for each other. Nova was more like my guardian angel, she was there to always help me out of trouble.

"Come now, don't tell me that you are pissed. Help me up." I mumbled stretching my hand to Nova when I saw the scowl that had taken over her face.

"I won't, after all, I wasn't the one who made you fall out of the chair while laughing." Nova shrugged shaking her head.

"Whatever, you can be so petty at times. I love you regardless best friend." I smiled as I got off the ground.

Nova frowned at my words and folded her arms across her chest. "Are you trying to buy me with those words? Sorry, it won't work this time."

I nodded walked over to Nova and wrapped my arms around her.

"It always works dear best friend." I giggled and began to tickle her.

Nova tried to keep a straight face but she failed and ended up bursting into laughter.

"Don't do that again," Nova mumbled amidst laughter stepping away from me.

"See it worked, works every time." I smiled raising my arms in the air feeling very pleased with myself.

Nova was about to say something but she kept quiet when Peyton walked into the room. Peyton had blonde hair and big brown eyes. She had a silver-coloured nose ring on her nose, her lips were painted with bright red lipstick, and she had a white tank top on and a black skirt which stopped right on her thighs. She glared at Nova and then me.

"I just got back from hanging out with my friends, and I discovered that you haven't washed and ironed the clothes I had kept," Peyton mumbled glaring at me.

I smiled as I watched her speak. Peyton has always been like that, she always expected me to do all the chores, and even do her laundry like I was her maid while she would sit and do nothing other than give commands.

"Don't you have something to say! I've been talking and you've been silent sighing like a moron." Peyton yelled her eyes darkening with rage.

"Do you have to be this annoying Peyton?" Nova muttered arching a brow at her before I could say a word.

"Oh please, Nova stay out of this! Else!" Peyton threatened.

"Or else what?" Nova laughed making Peyton upset.

I knew had to intervene else this was going to turn into something disastrous. Nova wasn't someone who would watch anyone insult her and do nothing, she believed in you get what you give.

Nova stood seeing how Peyton's fist clenched and her face turned red.

The two were now standing toe to toe, I moved and then stood between them before switching my gaze to Nova, "please calm down."

"Just let me put this fool in her place, she has done enough. I'm not scared of her." Nova fumed.

"I know but don't you have better things to do with your time? She isn't worth it." I smiled holding Nova's hand.

"Fine, I'm only backing down because of you," Nova uttered stepping away and plopping on the couch behind her.

"What did you just say, Eleanor? I'm not worth her time." Peyton raged scowling at me.

I chuckled nodding my head in affirmation. "Why do you look surprised? We both know you aren't worth it. About your clothes, you've got your hands. Do you expect me to do your laundry? Well, I won't."

"Don't talk to me that way!" Peyton seethed and before I knew it she pushed me.

"You have such weak hands cousin," I laughed maintaining my balance, I only staggered a little by her push.

"That isn't how to push someone, you do it this way," I mumbled stretching my hands forward, I pushed Peyton and the next sound I heard was that of her landing close to the door.

"How dare you?" Peyton burst into tears, her big eyes bulged out as she stared at me and then Nova whose mocking laughter had filled the room.

"What? I was just showing you how to push someone. Did it hurt? I didn't even use a lot of force." I snickered trying to stop myself from laughing.

"I hate you!" Peyton barked wiping the tears that rolled down her cheeks.

"I know you do, the door calls for you anyway. Make sure you shut it when you leave." I uttered pointing in the direction of the door.

"Sorry Peyton, I'm sure that after that great fall. You'll need to see a doctor." Nova spoke her voice filled with mockery.

"That was a good one best friend." She smiled giving me a high five.

Peyton stood up, she glared at us before walking out of the room and slamming the door.

"Maybe I was a bit too harsh," I muttered.

Nova looked at me with a serious expression studying my face before bursting into laughter and shaking her head. "Of course not, she deserved it. You have super strength Eleanor one of the qualities of a werewolf."

"Come on now, which werewolf series did you watch this time." I chuckled as she stared at my best friend. Nova was werewolf obsessed as I loved to call it, there was hardly a conversation we ever had that ended without Nova bringing up werewolves.

"What has that got to do with what I'm saying?" Nova glared at her.

"Everything, I think you should stop watching those movies, series or whatever you call them. They are making you go crazy." I sighed.

"Did you see what happened with Peyton? You just pushed her a little and she landed close to the door. Does that look ordinary to you?" Nova stood up ambling me to me.

"I have to go take a shower, remember we have somewhere to go to, don't we?" I smiled taking my towel and rushing into the bathroom before Nova could reach where I was.

Later That Day.....

"Nova, why are we in front of Starks G? It's a very fancy and expensive restaurant, I thought that..."

"Eleanor, there you go again. This is my treat, you've got nothing to worry about." Nova smiled. She looked at Eleanor she had told her countless times that there was no need to work hard for money if it wasn't going to be spent, maybe she needed a reminder. "Best friend, money is meant to be spent right? Why else would we work for it if we don't get to enjoy it?" Nova didn't even let me finish, she just cut me off and drove into the parking lot. When she was properly parked, she turned off the ignition and peered at me with a scrunched-up expression.

Nova was a wealthy lady aside from the fact that her family was super-wealthy, she had her own money. She told me of her plans to treat me to a ladies' evening out and she tried her best to convince me before I agreed. Nova was an extravagant person while I was the opposite, I always wanted things to be as simple as they could be.

"Fine then, as you say," I mumbled opening the car's door and stepping out.

"We can go shopping after this and don't say no," Nova said walking over to where I was after she got out of the car.

"I won't, bills on you. Why would I refuse," I smiled.

"Good girl," Nova muttered.

I looked around admiring the scenery of the restaurant as we walked in.

"I love this place." I grinned glancing at Nova whose lips widened in a proud smile.

"I bet you do."

After taking our seats, a waiter came to us and they placed our orders.

"It's been a while since you spoke about Blake, is everything ok with you guys?" I asked sipping my glass of wine, after placing the glass on the table I moved my gaze to Nova who was chortling.

"Blake, that guy isn't my type." Nova shrugged.

My eyes widened as I stared at her in disbelief. " Did I hear you right? Just two days ago you were all dreamy about him and now he isn't your type. Tell me did something happen?" I inquired.

For all I knew, Nova liked this guy a lot, even though Nova was someone who hung out with a lot of guys, I was the only female friend she had and I had never seen Nova so interested in any guy as she was with Blake.

"Well I saw him with another lady but I don't care," Nova stated shrugging her shoulders. Her shoulder drooped as she spoke, her lips pressing against each other.

"You saw him with another lady, Did you ask him who she was?"

"I didn't, just leave that be and let's enjoy ourselves."

"Hey, Nova."

I shifted my gaze to the guy who was approaching us. My chest clenched in annoyance as I saw him come to stand in front of us.

"You?" I barked.

The sight of him made me boil with rage, the last person I was expecting to see was him, not after what he had done to her. I watched as recognition dawned on his face and a smile slipped on his face.

"Calm down crazy, this is a public place." He smiled. The smile on his face upset me even more, I furrowed my brows scowling at him. The fact that he was acting like everything was ok made me feel like giving him resounding slaps because he deserved them.

"You two know each other, I had no idea that you knew Gannon." Nova turned to me, a joyous beam taking over her face as she spoke.

"You know this rude jerk?" I asked glaring at him.

"Yeah, you don't? He is Gannon Starks the CEO."

"I do know how arrogant he is. Are you stalking me Mr Gannon or whatever your name is?" I asked still fixing my gaze on him.

"Of course not, why would I?" He lifted amused brows at me.

"Can I at least take a seat?"

"Yes," Nova smiled.

"No," I shook my head and then turned to Nova. My brows creased when I saw that Nova was full of smiles.

"Thank you, Nova," Gannon smiled sitting down ignoring my refusal.

"I do think there's some bad blood between you two, and I would love to know why." A mischievous smile played on Nova's visage as her eyes darted from me to Gannon.

Gannon cleared his throat making us shift our attention to him. "I know you have every right to be upset with me. I shouldn't have done what I did, I was just so pissed that day but I admit I was wrong for transferring my aggression to you. I'm sorry. I would be glad if you forgive me. Please."

I peeked at him and refused to utter a word, there was nothing l hated like people doing stupid things deliberately and then apologising afterwards.

"Well I don't care if you are sorry or not, I lost my job because of your foul attitude. You are just an arrogant jerk and I want nothing to do with you!" I seethed in anger standing up to my feet. I averted my gaze from him to Nova.

"I'll be outside, Nova. I can't be here with this man."

Chapter 3 Not Again

"I'm sorry Nova for ruining our day out." I apologised.

After I walked out of the restaurant Nova came after me and I told her that I wanted to leave, she didn't say anything she just nodded and we got into the car after which she drove to her house. I felt bad but at that moment I just wanted to be away from that guy.

"Come on now, you've apologised enough. But you still haven't told me the reason why you and Gannon acted the way you guys did towards each other."

"You know the guy I told you about, the one that made me lose my job, well he is none other than your jerk of a friend Gannon."

"I'm sorry, I had no idea that Gannon was the one who got you fired. Don't take this as me supporting him but it's surprising Gannon did something like that, I know him to be a nice person."

I scoffed in disagreement. Even in a thousand years, I could never believe Gannon was a nice person not after what he did.

" Maybe you don't really know him or maybe he is nice to just you. Please can we not talk about him, just hearing his name makes me feel sick."

Nova sighed nodding her head."Okay, I won't talk about him. I've offered you a job at the company but you refused, you decided to take up the job of a waitress."

"You know I can't help but wonder how you chose that arrogant guy as a friend."

Nova laughed gazing at me. "First he met the looks requirements, that guy is hot, he has got the charms and he is also wealthy."

"That doesn't give him the right to treat people like trash, I dislike him so much."

"But we both agree he is good looking right?" Nova winked.

"Good looking my foot, he is just average." I crinkled my nose in disgust as I pictured my first encounter with him. Just the thought of him was enough to spoil my mood.

"Average, you say? But we both know that isn't true. He's a nice person, he might just seem arrogant but he is kind." Nova smiled.

I glared at her and she kept a serious face.

"Whose side are you on? I thought you were on my side."

"Come on, I am on your side, I'm just trying to say that you should consider forgiving him since he has apologised to you."

"Apologised, I don't need his apology. I want nothing to do with him. I would appreciate it if you say nothing about him to me and please do not mention his name" Eleanor mumbled.

"I didn't, you were the one who brought his name up again. Makes me feel like the relationship between you guys is a love-hate one," Nova teased and I shot her a glare.

"Eww, never."

Nova chuckled," As you say. But my job offer still stands whenever you are ready."

"I'm considering it, I want to be free from Peyton's nuisance. She's making life unbearable for me."

"Just let me teach her a lesson then. I can't forget how her face looked when she fell so hard after a little push." Nova laughed.

"I might get scolded for that, you know how my aunt is. I better get going now." I sighed standing up to my feet and she nodded giving me a pitiful look.

"Let's go, I'll drop you off," Nova told me getting off the couch and reaching for her car keys.

"Are you sure you would be fine? Or should I come in with you?" Nova asked as the car came to a halt when we got to the house.

"I'll be fine, I can handle them. Drive safe." I smiled at her, I opened the car's door about to step down when Nova stopped me.

"Since you and Gannon ruined our day out, why don't we reschedule?"

"I said not to mention his name," I groaned.

"Sorry," Nova coughed trying to hide her glee as she studied my expression.

"We can just spend some time watching movies at your place tomorrow, that would be better. Who knows that jerk might show up again if we decided to go to another restaurant." I suggested.

"Great idea, but I would only accept it if I get to pick the movie we would watch." Nova grinned nodding her head in approval.

"Fine, but no werewolf movie," Eleanor muttered.

Nova tapped her nose with her finger, a smile formed on her lips, "That's for me to decide."

"Whatever, take care of yourself." I smiled getting out of the car.

"Bye, if you need backup to put Peyton in her place, just give me a call." Nova hollered after me and I chuckled taking a halt before veering to face her.

" I sure will, you should go now," I told Nova who was now out of the car.

"I will once I see you get into the house," Nova replied.

I shook her head and grumbled loud enough for her to hear," There you go again acting as my bodyguard, I'm not a kid."

Nova was like that, most of the time she was treating me like I was a child who needed protection from harm.

"You are welcome," Nova smiled taking my hand in hers and pulling me along with her till we got to the porch.

"I never said thank you," I rolled my eyes at her but then embraced her afterwards. She chortled wriggling her head as she looked at me. After saying goodbye to her I reached for the door handle pulled it open and ambled into the room.

"Where are you coming from?" My aunt's voice stopped me in my tracks just as I shut the door behind me.

"Good evening aunt, I was out with Nova,"

Her icy glare descended on me and she gave me a dirty look. "That ill-mannered friend of yours whom you've refused to cut off from, don't tell me you've started to follow guys around warming their bed," my Aunt asked glaring at me. I knew my aunt just wanted to pick up a fight so I refrained from speaking.

"I'm talking to you Eleanora and all you can do is glare at me like a crazy person," She snarled.

"Aunt none of these accusations are true, Nova is a good person," I stated. I didn't like it when my Aunt said bad things about Nova but then I was used to receiving such remarks from her.

"I can see you've grown some wings, you now talk back at me. How cute!" My aunt barked, her eyes crinkled with disgust not putting an effort to hide the hate she had for me.

Classic Aunt of mine, she complained about me keeping quiet and when I say something she gets upset.

"I'm sorry." I apologised gazing downwards. I was tired all I wanted to do at this moment was go get some sleep.

"You should be, why didn't you do Peyton's laundry?" Just then Peyton walked into the living room with a big smile on her face. I needed no one to tell me she must have planned something or filled my Aunt's ears with lies against me just to get me into trouble.

"Welcome back sis, I see you are back early. Did the guys reject someone as classless as you?" She taunted.

I clenched her fist my eyes shot towards the ceiling, I was trying to keep calm, "Watch what you say, Peyton!" I warned.

"And if I don't?" She chuckled rolling her eyes at me, her upper lips curling up in contempt.

I was about to say something when my aunt cut me off. "Be silent, I had asked you a question, why didn't you do Peyton's laundry and then you beat her up." She asked.

I chortled, what a great lie Peyton came up with and as usual my gullible Aunt believed her or rather she chose to believe her even though she was well aware that her daughter was the chaotic one.

" Peyton is old enough to do her laundry herself and I didn't beat her up, if I did she wouldn't be in such a good condition."

"I see you've got the guts to say that in front of me, you know what? Since you've become so grown up it's high time you leave my house." My Aunt raged staring daggers at me.

"I'm sorry aunt, where would I go to?" I pleaded.

My aunt smiled, "You should have thought about that before you spoke, I would have sent you out that night but I don't want to be the evil aunt here. So I give you till tomorrow to leave my house." My Aunt stated with finality in her tone before sauntering away.

"See Eleanor, I told you I would get rid of you. It wasn't that hard was it." Peyton snickered going after her mom.

The Next Day ..

"Eleanor, you are here. I thought I was going to come pick you up. Come in, you brought your luggage along?" Nova smiled hugging me. After we broke the hug, she took my luggage and stepped aside so I could walk in.

"My aunt sent me packing." I sighed sitting on the couch, even though most of the time I acted like I didn't care how my aunt and cousin treated me, it bothered me. They were the only family I had. This morning when I woke up my stuff was already outside the house and I was woken up by a bowl of cold water emptied on me while I was asleep.

"Yay! That's good." Nova grinned throwing her hands up in the air and jumping as she took her seat beside me, my eyes bulged out in response to what Nova had just said.

"Are you for real? How is it good?" I questioned with creased brows. That wasn't the reaction I was expecting to get from her.

"You get to be free from your aunt's and Peyton's troubles, isn't that a good thing?" Nova smiled.

I heaved a breath giving her words a thought, "It is, I didn't see it in that light."

"See that's why you have me as a best friend, to make you see things as clearly as possible." Nova bragged.

"So pompous," I chuckled. "Can I stay here for some time?"

"You don't need to ask, you can stay for as long as you want. I've always asked you to move in with me but you refused to every single time, I'm glad you are here now." Nova smiled.

"Thank you."

"It's fine, I just want you to be happy and have fun." Nova winked.

I knew better than to go along with Nova's definition of fun, she is another level of crazy.

"Uhmm depending on what kind of fun, we are talking about." I mouthed and she laughed.

"I'll take your stuff upstairs and get you settled in," She mumbled.

........

After taking a bath and having breakfast which Nova prepared, we sat in front of the TV with a large bowl of popcorn by our sides ready to watch a movie and just like I thought Nova would, she picked a werewolf movie for us to watch. Even though I tried to talk her into changing it, she didn't agree so I just had to give in and follow her choice, which was necessary since I ruined our evening yesterday. Just as the movie was about to start the doorbell rang and Nova was about to stand up to her feet but I beat her to it.

"I'll go get the door."

"Don't worry I'll do it myself." Nova objected but I shook my head in disagreement.
