"Naya!" A voice screamed.
Naya who is currently washing dishes at the backyard tremble the moment she heard the voice
she recognized belongs to her aunt.
Naya is an eighteen year old lady. She is the real definition of beauty. She has long dark hair
that stopped at her back any moment she let it down, her beautiful tone skin radiate like the
early morning sun, a stare into her ocean eyes is all it takes for you to drown there forever.
Naya was just fifteen years of age when she lost her parents to the war that happened between
their packs and another pack. The war lasted for five months and it claimed both lives and
properties. It was unfortunate for little naya to have lost her parents to the unfortunate incident.
After the death of her parents, naya retorted to living with her aunt (kihara). Kihara has done
nothing but make life miserable for her ever since she started living with her and sometimes,
Naya prays for death to come take her because the suffering is too much.
"You are still doing the dishes!" Kihara thundered the moment she entered the backyard and
met Naya still doing the dishes.
"I...I...I just finished cleaning the house aunty," she stuttered.
"So? For you to clean the house, cook and get water from the river for us to use for our needs
has become a hard job that you can't do within an hour?" She demanded rolling her eyes in her
socket.
"No, I... she was interrupted by a heavy slap that landed on her cheek from her aunt.
A tear rolled out of her eyes as the pain from the slap hitted her, she could feel her skin getting
red already.
"I will deal with you today,"kihara promised.
She dashed into the house and soon returned with a whip which she started lashing Naya
mercilessly.
"Aunt I'm sorry! Please!" Naya begged as the cane landed on her body, each spot where it
landed getting red.
Kihara stopped beating her after a while. She glared at Naya that was wincing in pain on the
floor.
"Now, follow me," she ordered.
Naya immediately stood up, tears kept flowing down her cheeks as she stared at her skin that
had become red from the beating, she sustained some injuries from the beating already.
She cleaned her face with the back of her hand and without wasting much time, she dashed into
the house knowing fully well that one second late into the house would spell doom for her.
She met Kihara in the parlor, her leg crossed as she focused on whatever she was pressing on
her phone.
"I'm here aunt," Naya announced her presence.
Kihara dropped her phone on the table in front of her as she focused her hard glare on Naya.
"Have you cooked?" She asked.
"Yes," Naya replied.
"You mean you have also cleaned the house?" She asked again.
"Yes ma," Naya replied.
Kihara bites down on her lips wondering what she could use to lash out at her.
"Then why did you use your head to think that you haven't fetched water?" She questioned
glaring at her.
"I'm sorry aunt," Kihara bowed.
"Don't tender stupid apology for me, foolish girl!" she shouted at her.
"Go to the river and ensure you fill all the empty bowl and drums tonight," Kihara stated.
"But aunt is late," Naya muttered under her breath.
"What did you just say?" Kihara asked, bringing down her crossed legs as she made to stand
up.
"Nothing, I will soon be back aunt," Naya replied.
She rushed you out of the parlor before kihara would descend on her.
Kihara stepped out of the house with the big bowl she often used in her hand. She stared at the
dark night and a deep sigh left her mouth. She shivered immediately, as the cold breeze made
contact with her skin.
"Nothing will happen, I can't die yet, no matter what," she muttered to herself confidently.
She murmured a song as she walked towards the river.
In no time, she got to the river, she fetched the water into her bowl and headed towards the
house.
It was so dark and quiet outside and it was just like she is the only person still outside as she
didn't meet anyone both on her way going or coming back from the river.
She didn't feel much cold or alone since she was singing and fetching the water.
Naya's face lightened up when she fetched the tenth water and she realized it remained just a
visit to the river for the drum to be full.
She hastened up her steps as she made her way to the river, she got to the river and after
fetching the water she wanted she headed back to her house still Singing.
"Finally, I got you," a deep masculine voice said in front of her.
Naya's heart skipped multiple beats the moment she heard the voice and the first thing that
crossed her mind was that it might be spirits from the forest.
Naya closed her eyes, she held tight to her bowl and continue her journey because she once
heard that "people don't look at spirits or they will be killed,"
"Mrs," she felt a cold tap on her shoulder and she let go of the bowl on her head as she let out a
wild scream.
"What? I didn't do anything," the deep but calm voice giggled.
It was then Kihara raised her head up to stare at him. A sharp gasp left her mouth the moment
she saw the person in front of her.
She stared at him from his well carved brow to his pouty pink lips, his bright eyes that shone
despite the darkness.
"He is so cute!" Her wolf whispered.
"Hey!" The guy waved at her, snapping her out of her reverie.
Kihara cleared her throat in embarrassment. She stared at the guy for the last time and bent
down to pick her bowl before starting to head home.
"
"At least you will tell me your name," he called after her.
"Naya," she replied and ran off.
"Naya, such a beautiful name, my name is Seth!" He shouted after her.
Naya giggled as she headed back home.
She can't help but remnuscience on how cute he is.
She was just a few steps away from the house when she realized she didn't fetch any water.
She stopped on her track as she stared at the bowl in her hand.
"God, I'm so dead," she muttered under her breath.
She took slow steady steps towards the house. She sneaked to the last drum she was filling,
even though it was almost filled up but it still shows the vacancy of little quantity of water
needed to fill up the space.
"I will just wake up very early tomorrow morning and tell her I took my bath early," Naya
muttered.
She entered her room quietly. She walked to the stool. She kept her small lamb and she put on
the light before lying on the tiny mattress in her room.
It is her bed anyway. She kept reminiscing on the cute guy she met at the stream.
PALACE
Alpha Rohan was in his study room when he heard a knock on his door.
"Come in," he replied to whoever is at the door without raising his head from the book he is
reading.
Seth entered the room and he scanned the room for Alpha Rohan with his eyes. A smile settled
on his face which disappear almost immediately as he walks towards Alpha Rohan.
"My Lord, the messenger is here to see you," he bowed."You can go," he replied simply.
Seth nods his head, he bowed for the last time before eventually leaving the room.
Rohan is the leader of the pack. He is twenty six years of age. He always uses a mask anytime
he is going out so no one has ever seen his face even his mistress. Rumors had it that he was
masked up because he is too ugly.
Rohan is the real definition of "no mercy when it comes to eye to eye," He killed anybody that
trespass or dare betray him mercilessly. Heads fly in the air anytime he goes to war with his
soldiers. Rohan don't speak much probably because he doesn't like extorting his energy with
things that won't benefits him.
"Greetings," the messenger bowed immediately Rohan stepped into the palace room.
"Tell me, what is the news all about?" Rohan asked, staring at his messenger as if to read his
mindset with his eyes.
It is something he can do because he is really powerful which is one of the charisma that made
him qualified enough to be their Alpha.
"Alpha, the chiefs sent their greetings and they said you should hurry up about getting a Luna
because something terrible will happen soon if your Luna is not close to you," he stated, bowing
his head.
"Something terrible? To me?" Rohan creased his brow.
"Not only you alpha, but to every single soul in your pack," he replied.
Rohan felt all the hairs in his body stood the moment he heard that. He might not care about
anything but he cared deeply about his pack and the members in it that he doesn't mind risking
his life for the growth of the pack.
"Why the pack?" Rohan growled slowly.
He folds his fist tightly as he his teeth together.
"I don't know sir, rumors also have it that you are impotent," the messenger muttered slowly but
loudly enough for Rohan to hear.
Rohan's eyes darkened the moment he heard that statement and he stood furiously from the
chair he was sitting on.
"I'm so sorry my Lord, I didn't mean to say that," the messenger quickly apologized.
"Leave," Rohan ordered.
The guy bowed and scurried out of the room.
Rohan breathed out to calm himself down. He hates the fact that they are little to him because
he is yet with no Luna and getting a Luna is not something he can wake up from a slumber from
and get like that.
"You will feel it in your heart when you meet her," his master's voice ranged in his head.
Rohan stares at the palace room for the last time before eventually heading towards his room.
Naya's aunt place
"Naya! Naya!" Kihara yelled out naya's name.
She had just woken up and had walked towards the drums to check if Naya filled everything up
but was surprised to see that one had not been filled up.
"Don't let me call you for the third time before you get here or else start saying your last prayer
before you get here," kihara said.
Almost immediately, Naya scurried towards her. She was washing her clothes when she heard
her call out for her.
"I'm here aunt," she stated.
"What happened to the water in this drum? Don't tell me you didn't fill this up?" Kihara
demanded, staring at her spitefully.
Naya nods her head negatively.
"Answer me! Or did the river suddenly dry up and you weren't able to get the water I needed?"
Kihara demanded.
"No, I bath with it?" Naya lied.
"Bath? When did you wake up that you took your bath already? Are you lying Naya? Have you
started lying too?" Kihara demanded sternly.
"No aunt, I dare not," Naya replied.
She is only trying to sound confident not to die young but deep down she is shaking.
"Okay, is it even your problem if you lie because I know you won't take any water from this
house and tell me you want to take your bath today," kihara muttered entering the house.
Naya released the breath she never knew she had been holding, the moment Kihara entered
the house.
"Thank you God for saving me," she breathed out.
"Naya!" She heard her name screamed.
She needs no soothsayer to tell her that Kihara is about to send her on an errand again.
"God, let me just die," Naya muttered, feeling like dying.
She rushed inside immediately.
The Next Day
Naya slept quite early because of the tons of work she was bombarded with. At six am she was
still sleeping, which is unlike her.
Kihara woke up at 6:30 am. She looked around the house wondering why everything remained
the same just the same way they left before going to bed.
"Are we still at midnight?" She muttered while looking at the wall clock.
She was trying to wrap her head around what made her not to start her daily work.
"This is a few minutes to 7am and this girl is yet to get up from bed! Is she trying to play pranks
on me or has she already said her last prayer?" Kihara asked nobody as she made her way
towards Naya's room.
She opened the door of naya's room and entered. Surprise is an understatement to what she
felt when she met naya still sleeping soundly on the floor.
She bite her lower lips shooting Naya with deadly glare that if only stare could kill, Naya would
have been five feet gone.
"Okay, no problem," she muttered leaving the room.
Kihara returned to the room with cold water in her hand. She got it from a bowl that she kept
outside. In no time,Kihara drenched Naya with the cold water in her hand.
"Oh my Gosh, what the fuck is this!" Naya half yelled from her sleep.
Naya started from her bed to Kihara's face, which was busy glaring a dagger at her.
"Aunt," she muttered in disbelief.
She was unaware of the fact that she overslept. She was trying to understand why Kihara will
pour her cold water in her sleep.
"See the way she is staring at me, have you suddenly hit your head on something? Because I
don't understand your new found confidence,"Kihara spat.
"What did I do aunt?" Naya asked her.
"Check the time and come back to me for your punishment since you have suddenly decided to
be a fool," she replied.
She headed towards the door, she opened the door and stared back at naya that was still sitting
up on her bed while staring at her confusedly as if she had been performing some sort of magic
for her.
"I give you two minutes to meet me in the parlor," she said, eventually leaving the room.
Naya stood up from her mattress the moment she left. A sharp pain flashed through her head
and she let out a short wince.
"That is because I slept early and I didn't get enough sleep," she muttered sadly, holding her
banging head.
She changed her short gown that she always wears to bed into a baggy gown.
She opened her room door and stepped out of the room to go and face whatever Kihara had in
stock for her.
Naya's heart skipped multiple beats the moment she entered the parlor and she met kihara with
a whip with her whilst glaring at her.
"Aunt, I didn't do anything," she muttered.
She has always known kihara to be cold to her, at least they never get along. But Kihara being
this cold towards her when she didn't do anything wrong is weird.
"Look at the time," Kihara pointed at the wall clock.
Naya's eyes became bigger than it's normal size the moment she stared at the time. 8:00am!
"So finally, today is the day I will finally say goodbye to earth without achieving anything," she
thought.
She turned slowly towards Kihara who was still glaring at her. She opened her mouth to talk but
words failed her the moment her eyes met with kihara's cold glare.
She swallowed hard while staring at her feet.
"Aunt please, I'm sorry, I want to be aware of what days the time is," Naya rushed in her words.
Kihara started walking towards her with the whip in her hand.
Naya closed her eyes expecting the pain from the cane to hit, seems she can't escape every
single day no matter what she did.
She opened her eyes slowly when she didn't feel anything nor hear anything from Kihara but her
eyes went shut on their own the moment she opened them and she saw Kihara raising the whip
up.
Kihara changed her mind just when the whip inches away from her skin. She suddenly doesn't
feel the need not to punish her.
She took a few steps from her and sat down back on the cushion she was sitting on in the
parlor.
She watched as Naya shivered in fear without opening her eyes, she was definitely waiting for
her to beat her.
After a while, naya opened her eyes. She peeped and was surprised when she saw the same kihara she was expecting to lash her sitting down and staring at her.
"Aunt... she called in disbelief.
"Thank your star, I'm suddenly not in the mood for you today, else you would have been nursing
your bleeding body," Kihara scoffed.
Naya turned her face away as she let out a short giggle. She is so happy she is not beaten
because the pain from yesterday's beating still hurts like hell and she can't imagine herself
taking in another pain.
"What are you standing there doing? Go inside and get my purse so you can go to the market
and get us some foodstuff,'' Kihara scoffed.
"Okay aunt," Naya replied dashing out of the parlor to the room to get her purse.
She returned with her purse and kihara counted some money for her inside before telling her to
go get some foodstuffs they will need from the market.
Naya collected the money from her and left the house. She hopped happily as she head
towards the market.
"Probably she has decided to change," her wolf suddenly muttered.
"Or it might be my power working," she muttered giggling.
Naya was told she has power but she can't use it. She is one of the strongest werewolfs to be
born but she can't use her power yet until she mates with her mate.
