I won't let you leave me!" -Kenzie Alexis Reegan

Chapter 1 Death.

Moscow, Russia.

"Ken, I didn't do that. I never betrayed you." Ellina knelt down, looking at her husband, Kenzie, who sat on a chair with his hand petting a white wolf that occasionally let out a hungry roar.

"I really didn't. Ken, give me a chance." Ellina pleaded once again.

But Kenzie, the handsome man, did not move. His eyes stared coldly with no interest in an explanation he could not accept. His wife tarnished the family name; divorce was too good for her. The roar of his wolf was even more appealing to his ears.

"Oh, Sister, but the truth isn't," said Lexsi, the woman standing next to Kenzie, smiling dazzlingly. "You're really heartless. How could you disgrace the Rexton family by betraying your husband?"

"Lexi, we are family. I can't possibly-"

"We? A family? If we are family, how could we be so different? Oh, right, we don't even share the same blood. How could we not be different? We become siblings because we live in the same house. Even so, I didn't even expect you to do this," Lexsi explained quickly.

Ellina shook her head. Her tears broke out, and she looked at her husband with tearful eyes that asked for forgiveness. "Ken, I didn't do anything. I really didn't betray you. Lexi was even there. Lexsi, say something. You're the one who brings me there!" she screams frustratedly.

Lexsi chuckled. "Sister, what are you saying? I was shopping with Mom when it happened. How could I have been there with you?"

It was a lie. Ellina knew it. That time, Lexsi was the one who took her to a party, and the next morning, Kenzie found her with five strange men in a room. She was shattered, like a broken glass. And the thing she couldn't understand was that her sister, Lexsi, didn't admit it.

"Le-lexsi," she said confusedly. Her whole face was pale. "Kenzie, really. I remember everything. I-"

Kenzie gave Ellina a bored look. "You're dirty and disgusting! Do as I say. I don't want to see her again!"

Ellina's whole body trembled. Ellina had never thought that she would not receive forgiveness. Kenzie got up and walked away. He didn't turn around even though Ellina's cries echoed.

"Stop crying. Kenzie won't look at you! It's all over now, Rexton's family has decided to cancel your adoption. Thank you, Sister. Because of your trust, I can take your place and become the real Mrs. Reegan." Lexsi chuckled. "Don't look at me like that. Of course, I am already done with Aaric. He's quite boring, tho."

Ellina gasped as Lexsi's honesty made everything clear. She had been set up by the one she treated like her sister. Even her family had canceled her adoption. She was thrown away!

Being an adopted child in Rexton's family, she had done everything to make everyone love her. She had to give up everything she loved, voluntarily changing her engagement and marriage to the young master of the Reegan family. Abandoning her studies and staying away from her lover, Aaric Leighton Blade. She never stopped working hard in her marriage, trying to make her husband look at her. But she was isolated and considered a shadow that never existed.

Now, everything was clear in Ellina's eyes. Everything had been planned to set her up. But why?

"Why?" Ellina was unable to control her shock. "Why are you doing this to me?"

Lexsi smiled slightly, looked down, and whispered. "Because I want to be the only one. Who would have thought you would trust all of us. Even your own husband didn't care and was going to kill you. Isn't that a perfect ending for you, Cinderella?"

Ellina's body froze. Kenzie intended to kill her. "No. Kenzie, let me go. I'll agree to the divorce. I'll get away from you. Kenzie, Kenzie!"

Kenzie was not interested; behind his handsome face lurked an incomparable cruelty. As the young CEO of a prestigious family, he was known as the established man all women hope to live happily with. But he was aware of all his perfections, so he became arrogant and thought no woman deserved to be with him.

"Bing Bing, your food is ready!" Kenzie's hand raised, Bing Bing, the white wolf, growled with interest. Staring at Ellina with hunger.

Lexis looked at Ellina's scared face with a smile and satisfaction. Finally, it's over. Everything will be exactly like she always wished for.

"Kenzie... Kenzie... Kenzie...!"

Ellina's scream echoed with her body running towards the slowly closing door. The white wolf had just been released right after leaving the room. The hungry roar made the entire building tremble as if obliterating the city with one shot.

Ellina could only run to save herself, but it was futile. She had no way out. The wolf got no closer, with drool dripping onto the floor. It stared at her with a hungry look followed by a terrifying roar. Trapped between a hard-rock wall and a hungry beast, she closed her eyes and held her breath as a giant shadow started to block the lights.

Blood began to splatter as her right leg began to be snatched away. She screamed at the top of her lungs, hoping a miracle would come and someone would help her. But instead, the more intense pain spread throughout her body. She couldn't even look at the wolf's eye before her stomach was torn apart, with organs scattered everywhere. Her consciousness was lost in pain, too intense to feel, welcoming the dark with a lifetime of regret. Tearing her every memory into small, painful pieces.

I can't die like this! How could they live happily while I'm dying like this? That's unfair. God, if you really exist, please give me one more chance to fix everything. I won't die like this!

Breathless in the endless darkness, extreme pain paralyzed every inch of her body. In this moment of death, all memories flashed through her mind as if they were bound to the pain. Every mistake, every deed, and everything she had done that never led her to happiness. Every memory feels like a sword, tearing her into pieces and leaving her with only pain and bitterness.

The pain might be overwhelming, but her careless husband hurt her the most. How could he let her be scattered away by the wolf? He doesn't even look at her, the cold back facing her as she begs forgiveness. And her foster sister and parents, had they planned it all? How could she didn't realize anything? How could she just have discovered everything when she already had nothing? She was betrayed by her lover, replacing her sister's wedding, and ends up in her husband's hand because of her sister.

Everything was unfair!

That thought always lingers in her heart. Her body stiffened violently, sweat pouring down her forehead as she felt like the oxygen had started to avoid her. A memory where her sister's men touched her body felt disgusting. Desecrating her mercilessly leads to her death. A death she did not deserve. A death she could have avoided if she had never married that heartless man in the first place!

"You're dirty and disgusting!"

Kenzie's words rang inside her head repeatedly. In their marriage, she had no place in his heart. He was too cold to look at her, more even to touch her. And all the things she did were useless. Turning herself to become like pornstar just because Lexsi and her mum said men loved that, so she foolishly complied with everything. Wearing so much makeup that hid her beauty. And what she received was a glance of disgust from her husband.

Isn't she stupid for not being able to realize everything that could be understood by an ordinary person?

"Ah...!" she cried out in frustration. Everything was too painful. They said death would set someone free from any pain, so why did she have to bear this pain in her death?

Her eyes opened wide as a hand touched her wrist. Before she could proceed with everything, a familiar voice rang through her ears.

"Sister, are you alright?"

Ellina's hand squeezed her stomach tightly, looking across the familiar room before lying down her eyes to a worried face beside her. She didn't know how, but that expression strangely felt so fake and disgusted her. She looked up at the ceiling and deeply breathed before turning to Lexsi's worried face.

What was that? Isn't she dying? Was it all just a dream?

"Sister, you okay? Should we call the doctor?"

She tried to sit up and held her forehead. This is too real to become a dream. She pinches her cheeks and legs. The pain is real!

Am I alive?

Chapter 2 Coming back.

"Sister, are you okay? Did you have a nightmare?"

Ellina's gaze fell on the beautiful face before her. That gentle face with sweet, seductive words that had poisoned her mind for a long time.

"What date and year are now?"

Lexsi raised her eyebrows at Ellina's question, smiled softly, and laughed slightly. "It's 2015, the 10th of September."

Ellina's eyes lit up. She really coming back. It's seven years before her death. She jumped off the bed and ran to look at her face in the mirror. It was her, in her pajamas and thick-bright colored makeup, that hadn't been removed. Even though she might look a bit scary with bright eyeshadow and smudged mascara, she can tell that the messy woman in the mirror was her.

"Sister, what's wrong? You're acting very strange,"

Ellina turned her head. Staring at her sister's eyes. How could she not have realized everything? That fakeness. That disgust and mockery gaze. Hadn't she lived too stupidly!

"I'm fine," she replied without a smile, a glint of hatred in her eyes before she decided to look down. How could I be fine when you deceived me and ruined my life! "I'm just a bit tired."

Lexis smiled, and somehow, Ellina was disgusted by that smile. "That's good. Don't forget that we have a meeting with Reegan's family this afternoon. I'll send all the best quality clothes later. You should wear them."

There was a glimpse of mockery in Ellina's eyes when she heard that. This was precisely what Lexsi had done in the past. Acted like she was supporting her and giving her disgusting clothes that changed her image, and she innocently thought it was a show of family affection for her.

So stupid.

Ellina nodded and didn't say everything in response. She would not be fooled again. No, she would not waste her life in this second life that God had given her. She would not fall into the same hole.

"You must be exhausted; I'm sorry for waking you up."

There was a sad tone in her sister's words. Ellina smiled faintly and tried to hide her anger. You really do have good acting skills, Little Sister. You should have got an Oscar for fooling me in the past.

"Thank you for your understanding," Ellina replied with a happy twinkle in her eyes. Ugh, she really needs to vomit.

Lexsi look surprised. Usually, Ellina will try so hard to not make anybody else feel sorry. Does she tell her that her sleep is really disturbed? And how could her stupid sister become unenthusiastic at the words 'Reegan' and 'The best clothes'?. But now, something feels different. Her sister looked cold and strangely far. What's with the question of the date and year of her first waking up?

Something's really off. Lexsi better take a closer look at this matter.

"Alright, Sister. Take some rest; I'll go back to my room."

Ellina nodded. She could not even linger with her sister anymore. She felt like throwing up or coming forward to slap her pretty face. No, she could not do that. Not now, or everything will be ruined.

Ellina grabbed the table with both hands, holding her body up as the door to her room closed, making her feet weakened like jelly. She looked at her face once more in the mirror. Smiling with relief and happiness. God really fulfilled her request. Even if she had come through that pain, at least she is returning now. In this life, Ellina promised to change everything. She will throw her stupidity away!

***

This afternoon, Ellina locked herself in her room. She could never look at her family in the eyes. She felt like she would be suspicious of everything. Everyone in this room seemed so fake now; even her mom's soft voice made her feel like she was being asked to go to hell, even if her mom had just asked her to have lunch together.

"Sister, didn't you have a class this afternoon?" A knocking sound followed by Lexsi's soft voice rang behind the closed door. "You want to go with me?"

What should she do? She's not ready to meet anyone. Should she just skip class-

No, she could not be like this. In her previous life, she willingly left her studies to learn how to become a perfect wife. Despite all that, she had gained nothing. All her efforts would not have been useless if she had known from the beginning. She wouldn't have done anything just to be hated by a man like him.

As the man's face came to her mind, her body trembled with fear. The pain was unbearable when her legs were snatched away, and those sharp teeth tore her stomach. Even her stomach ached at the thought of it all. And from that day on, she decided to stay away from that man. She will do everything within her ability to cancel the engagement. She had to run. Run far away to avoid that kind of pain.

"Yes, I will prepare everything."

"Okay, Sister, I'll wait at the front door."

She opened her closet. Her forehead furrowed when she realized she had no casual 'normal' clothes. Her choice fell on a white dress with a cherry blossom print that fell above her knees. She quickly applied all the makeup on her face. A black eyeshadow, followed by blue eyeliner and bright pink lipstick. Then, I picked up a hair wig with a light brown color. She had to play well in this life. She would not let a single person suspect her change of life.

She stepped out of the room. She was greeted by Lexsi's familiar smile. "Sister, you're so fast."

"I'll take you to the university first, then pick out clothes for the meeting later."

"Meeting?"

Lexsi nodded. "Sister, haven't I told you before? Don't tell me you forgot about the family gathering this afternoon. This time, you will be engaged to the Reegan family's Young Master."

Her heart sank when Reegan's name was mentioned again. "Can we cancel it?"

Lexsi's face turned pale. "W-what? Why? Didn't you agree to it before? Oh, sister, I know it's a shameless request, but I promise I'll repay your kindness for the rest of my life."

Those soft words had deceived her many times in her previous life. She remembered that time Kenzie Alexis Reegan was a 'legend' that anyone never meets before. At first, Lexsi and the rest of her family thought Kenzie was a fat, stupid pervert, so they didn't want Lexsi to become his fiancé. In the end, her family offers her an exchange. And Reegan's family had no objection to the sake of the long-standing family friendship.

"Sis, do you really not want to replace me? I heard he really likes you. I'll-"

"Okay. Okay. Stop it. I'll agree," Ellina cut in. She was sick of seeing that expression. A sarcastic smile hung on her face for a second. Like me a lot? How do you know when no one has ever met him? Why did I die under his pet if he liked me so much?

"You are indeed my best sister!"

A sudden hug made Ellina's body stiffen. She quickly pushed Lexsi body away.

"Sis, what's wrong? You're so strange."

How can I behave the same way when you are the cause of my death?

Ellina shook her head and tried to behave as usual. "No, I'm not. I think I'll be late."

"Alright, let's go."

Chapter 3 Challenge.

"We are here."

Unfastened her seatbelt, Ellina got out of the car. She is smiling through the open window, waving at Lexsi's smiling face.

"Don't forget about the family gathering, Sister."

"Okay, safe ride."

Ellina stared at the back of the driving away car, tightly clenched her fist before stepping into the university. Thanks to her foster parents, she could attend the most prestigious university in this country, together with Lexsi, even though they majored in different subjects. She took IT and Lexsi took fashion design, which made Lexsi the most fashionable woman in their circle.

Ellina left her studies in the past because her mother told her computer major was too manly and Kenzie probably would not like it. What a foolish way to live. Starting today, she decided to do her best. At least she has to be prepared because her parents can throw her away at anytime. She had to get a job to survive, so when everything got worse, she would still be able to survive.

The quiet room fell into silence as she walked in. Taunting whispers, something she really got used to in the past, rang clearly in her ears. She sat in the back seat. She stared at her seatmate, Nero, who seemed engrossed in his laptop.

"You're early?"

Ellina nodded. Nero was the only person who used to talk to her in class. Other than him, everyone else avoided her. No one would speak to the ugly-stupid girl who couldn't do anything except follow her boyfriend everywhere.

Louder whispers could be heard as handsome figures entered the doorway. It was Alvian Raitrama D. R. and Lykaios Canuto . The most handsome students often get called Prince, who has been the center of attention since the beginning. One is because of their look, and the other is because of their smartness but not because of their family's influence because no one knows Alvian's surname.

Lykaios sat in the front seat as Alvian came to the front of the class and clapped his hands to get everyone's attention. He smiled enthusiastically and turned his laptop on.

"Everyone, listen up. I've created a new defense system for our university access security. I bet no one here can hack it."

Everyone looked at Alvian with interest, including Ellina. In the past, she remembered that her computer skills were exceptional. But because she believed what her mother said, she didn't want to show it to everyone and acted stupid in class to not look manly, leading her to the title Ugly and stupid IT girl who isn't worth being friended.

"Is that so?"

The lively atmosphere was instantly gone as Ellina's loud voice caused everyone to turn their heads toward her.

Alvian frowned his eyebrow. "Sorry, what?"

"Are you sure about what you just said? What if someone can hack it?" replied Ellina with a smile.

A mockery laugh rang from the other corner of the classroom. "She probably doesn't know what we are talking about. Alvian, don't worry about her."

That was the voice of Ariella Aldercy. The beauty of the IT department. Holding the title of the prettiest girl in uni after Lexsi Larissa.

Some people laughed and didn't even try to hide it.

"She must be doing it to get Alvian's attention."

"Ahkkk, so embarrassing. Does she know what she looked like?"

"She might not. I can't even look at her horrible face. How could she stand looking at it every day?"

Ellina, as if those words were nothing. "What if one of us can hack it?" she repeats, looking at Alvian up ahead.

Some people laughed and didn't even try to hide it.

"Does she even know what she's talking about?"

"That won't happen. This is a new system that gives high-level defense."

Those words intensify Ellina's interest even more. "How about making a bet?"

The whole class gasped in surprise. "What kind of bet?"

"To see if the system was that great," Her invitation broke the shock. "Sure, everyone can participate."

"Bet?" Lykaios stared with interest. "Not bad. I bet no one can beat Alvian, so I will give my laptop to the winner."

Ellina smiled happily, nodding in excitement. Now, she probably needs to win. Her laptop needed to be updated, and she needed a new one but had no savings left. "Interesting. I'll accept it."

"Then, what will you do if you lose?"

Ellina closed her mouth. Right, she also had to offer something in a bet. But what could she offer? She had nothing.

"What do you want?"

Panicking, but Ellina did not want anyone to know. She tells herself to be calm even though she hasn't touched the computer for a long time. She must still have some skills left. This could be a live lesson for her where she could practice-

Alvian smiled as she looked at Ellina's clueless face. "If you can beat me, I'll also give you my laptop. So, the winner will have two laptops."

Ellina smiled slightly. She turned to the man beside her. "Nero, whose laptop do you want?"

Nero was stunned. "You don't mean to fight them, do you?"

"You don't want it?" asked Ellina, squinting her eyes. "Lend me your laptop. If I win, you can choose between the two."

"Are you sure?" asked Nero in disbelief. Seriously, this woman asked her just because she needed something? His doubt rose as Ellina nodded. He should expect nothing, but a little word doesn't hurt. "Alvian's."

"Alvian, fine. Lend me your laptop." Ellina pulled Nero's laptop in front of her. Then, she turned to Alvian in front of her. "I accept your challenge. What do you want if you win?"

Alvian laughed sarcastically. This girl was insane. This girl had never appeared in anyone's eye before; even Alvian didn't know he had such a girl as her classmate after one year of studying. The only thing he knew was that this girl never interacted with others before, and this was his first time talking to this girl. And that girl challenged him!

"If you lose, I want you to show your real face, then leave the IT department!"

Lykaios rolled his eyes. He seemed to disagree. "Are you crazy? She looks disgusting with makeup. How about without makeup? Do you want me to throw up?"

Ellina's fingertip shook with excitement. Finally, she took a moment to wipe off the dough on her face. "Agreed!"

The whole classroom falls into chaos.

"She will be slapping her own face. How dare she go against Alvian."

"Has she gone mad? She's really going to die!"

Ellina chuckles. "That's easy. But I warned you, I don't want to bear any responsibility if you are going crazy about me."

Everyone laughs. This level of self-confidence was good, but it depends on who said it. How could people hold their laughter if someone as ugly as a clown said such a line?

"Do you perhaps leave your brain somewhere? Me? Crazy about you? Dream until you die!" Alvian scolded loudly. His patience was running out.

"Alright, I accept. Please prepare as much makeup remover as possible."

Ariella and Valerie immediately took out makeup remover from their bags.

Satisfied laughter rang out from all over the room.

"This will be the last day of her!"

That was their certainty. But Ellina did not waver at all. Her face remained calm, with her hands holding the laptop in front of her.

"What are you waiting for? Go to the university broadcast room. Let them know her true face!"

A group rushed to the broadcast room. The news spread quickly. IT clown vs. IT prince. There was an uproar throughout the university, with the maximum crowd wanting to witness the whole thing. The room was ready to record. The two people sat facing each other with their laptops in front of them.

"If you don't break my system within an hour, you must remove all the dirt from your face!"

Ellina nodded at Alvian's words. This was her first match since she had been alive twice, and she planned to not do it lightly.

"Start."
