Chapter 1 Episode 1

Melody's pov

"Mr. Thorne." I spoke with a trembling voice, revealing the nervous butterflies in my stomach. "I... I don't understand."

We were flying in his personal aircraft, cruising at an altitude of ten thousand feet above the earth.

Mr. Thorne, without his suit jacket, was lying on the luxurious leather seat, holding a glass of brown liquid that he was swirling.

He appeared incredibly calm, with the only stress in the room coming from me.

"What is it that you don't understand, Melody?" A questioning eyebrow arched, amusement shining in his ice-blue eyes. The slow drawl with which he pronounced my name made a shiver run down my spine.

"What is the reason for our presence in this place?" I stuttered while indicating the opulent cabin - comfy seats, shiny woods, and a mini bar filled with all kinds of drinks. It seemed so different from the small apartment I had just moved out of.

He placed his glass on the table gently, the noise echoing in the otherwise quiet room. "Later." He murmured, his tone lowering to a soft purr. "We can't really talk about certain matters on a regular flight, can we?"

His words, made a heat creep up to my face. I nervously played with the bottom edge of my shirt, realizing suddenly that my attire - a old pair of jeans and a faded t-shirt - was not enough.

Mr. Thorn moved closer, his eyes captured my stare, filled with a fierce passion that urged me to turn away. But I couldn't.

"Part of the agreement, includes predicting your buyer's needs and tending to them." He stated hoarsely.

My breath hitched. "What sort of needs Mr. Thorne?"

"At this moment." He whispered leaning closer to my ear. "I want you."

I gulped.

"I... I'm not sure how," I stuttered, my voice barely audible.

Mr. Thorn's face lit up with a gradual smile, causing a surge of warm sensation in me. "Isn't there always a beginning for everything, Melody?" He asked, his voice giving me goosebumps.

He extended his hand, using one finger to trace along the shape of my bottom lip. His contact sparked a mix of fear and excitement within me. I desired to pull back and hide in my usual shyness, but my body didn't listen, staying firmly in place.

He whispered, calming me with his deep voice next to my ear. "Allow me to demonstrate to you."

His hand glided along my arm, causing goosebumps to spring up on my skin with his touch. Every touch of his fingers burned like a hot iron, breaking through my barriers.

"Mr. Thorn," I whispered softly, a feeble objection that resembled a request.

He came to a halt, his intense gaze fixed on me. "Adrian." He corrected, his voice filled with lust.

I couldn't speak because my voice got stuck in my throat. "Adrian." I whispered, as it sounded so foreign on my tongue.

He leaned in closer, until I could feel the heat of his breath on my neck.

My chest heaved, as his lips touched my neck. My hands raised a bit as I tried to stop him, but stopped mid air as I was also curious.

His hand gripped my back and jerked me to the warmth of his body. My heart hammered in my chest as though it was about to rip through my chest.

"Hold on!" I blurted out.

He stopped briefly, before cocking a brow.

"What's wrong?" he inquired, with a touch of humor in his voice. "Starting to doubt your new boss?

Tears filled my eyes. "I... can't. I just..." I struggled to say, the words falling over one another.

He let out a frustrated sigh mixed with a mysterious feeling that caused a peculiar warmth to spread in my center.

"You can't?" He repeated, his voice rough.

"I have never... I'm not sure how."

The heavy truth loomed in the air, sharply contrasting with the increasing heat in the cabin.

Adrian's face slowly lit up with a smile, causing a chill to run down my back. It wasn't a smile of mockery, but rather one tinged with a touch of something... predatory.

"It looks like you will require extensive training, don't you think? Melody?"

I swallowed at the possessiveness of his tone...it dripped from every syllable of his statement. It terrified me, yet sparked my curiosity.

"Training?" I echoed, speaking in barely audible tones.

"Yes." Adrian confirmed, his tone shifting from amused to serious. "Think of it as a quick lesson in becoming the ideal assistant. Someone who not just predicts my needs but also meets them perfectly."

His look locked onto mine, and in that brief instant, I saw a hunger mirrored in his eyes.

It reflected the inner chaos I was feeling...a blend of fear, thrill, and an odd feeling of expectation.

"What happens if I fail?" I had the courage to inquire, the question barely heard.

"Failing is not a possibility, Melody," he muttered in a low voice. "Neither here nor with me."

I felt a chill go down my back. His words carried a profound significance, stirring a sense of untamed excitement within me.

"How can I...pass then?" I inquired, the words slipping out before I could halt them.

Adrian's slow grin caused a surge of electricity to run through me. "Easy." He stated, his eyes sparkling with an unsettling delight. "You follow orders. You gain knowledge. And, most importantly, you submit."

My breath caught in my throat for the hundredth time that day.

"Submit?" I repeated myself with a voice that was hardly audible.

He then stood upright, his tall stature casting a shadow over me. His hand reached out, one finger gliding along the shape of my face, sending a jolt through my body.

"Melody, everything," he replied, his voice deep and resonant, causing vibrations within me. I now possess all of your thoughts and your physical body.

My heart pounded loudly in my chest, creating a frenzied drumbeat that shattered the sudden quietness.

The atmosphere was filled with suppressed longing, the suspense so palpable it could be sliced.

"What about you, Adrian?" I was able to inhale, my voice just slightly louder than a whisper. "What are you willing to provide in exchange?"

His face gradually lit up with a smile that gave me goosebumps. It was a smile filled with a pledge, a pledge of delight, of risk, of something more thrilling than anything I had experienced before.

"Following orders," he whispered hoarsely, "comes with benefits."

He moved closer, his warm breath brushing against my ear. "Before we begin," he whispered, causing a chill to run down my back, "let's test how quickly you grasp your initial lesson."

His lips lightly touched my earlobe, causing a surge of electricity to run through my body. His hand swiftly wrapped around my waist, drawing me close to his firm physique before I could even respond.

I let out a gasp as he lowered his head, his lips closely hovering near mine in a tantalizing way. As I anticipated he would close the distance, a sudden knock on the cabin door broke the tense atmosphere.

"Mr.Thorn?" A voice asked from behind the door, its sound slightly dampened. "We're getting ready to start our descent into Monte Carlo."

Adrian stood still, his lips close to mine. His face briefly showed frustration before being replaced by a determined composure.

He called out. "Hold on."

He straightened, with a hint of something ominous in his gaze, quickly concealed by his typical cold blue expression.

"Clean yourself up, Melody," he stated, his voice curt. "We will pick this up at a later time."

His words caused a combination of feelings, both relief and disappointment, that made me shiver.

While making my way to the bathroom, I could still smell his cologne in the air, serving as a tempting recall of the risky situation I had just entered. How did I end up in this situation?

Chapter 2 Episode 2

ADRIAN'S POV

The sound of ice cubes hitting my glass reverberated in the large study, adding to the turmoil brewing within me. I stirred the golden liquid, the sharpness of the scotch a pleasant diversion.

"So, you have ultimately chosen to grace me with your presence, beloved brother."

My stepbrother Ethan strolled into the room with his typical smug smile on his face. As usual, he appeared to be wealthy, embodying his extravagant way of life. All that I hated.

"Are you preoccupied with your billion-dollar deals while trying to save the world?" he asked, his tone filled with sarcasm.

I placed the glass on the table with a loud snap. "Stop pretending, Ethan. Both of us are aware of the reason for your presence."

His smile briefly wavered, a hint of fear appearing in his eyes before disappearing. "I don't understand, Adrian," he said, pretending to be innocent.

"I won't tolerate ignorance," I grumbled, rising from my seat. The murmurs in the conference room are growing more prominent. The abrupt financial troubles of The Mitchell Corporation...

"Just some unfortunate circumstances," he said casually, shrugging his shoulders. "Such occurrences are common."

"Luck, my foot," I pounded my fist on the desk, causing him to flinch at the sudden noise. "Isn't this about making sure your actions are not easily traced?" A dangerous investment turned sour, and now you're struggling to stay afloat.

He eventually looked away, his eyes quickly moving around the room. "It's not as easy as you think, Adrian."

"It's really easy," I muttered, my voice filled with anger and a profound pain." You have always been the risk-taker, constantly seeking excitement with money that wasn't yours. But now, Ethan, you were not only gambling with your own luck. You put at risk the company Dad established, the inheritance he left behind!"

The reference to our father lingered in the air, a silent blame. I noticed a brief flicker in Ethan's eyes - perhaps regret. Shame? However, defiance quickly took its place.

"He wouldn't comprehend," Ethan whispered quietly. "He couldn't comprehend the stress, the necessity of me always having to prove my worth."

"Who are you trying to prove yourself to?" I let out a loud roar. "To certain affluent individuals who wouldn't recognize you if you didn't fat bank account? You disgust me Ethan. You embody everything that Dad hated."

Anger caused Ethan's face to twist. He yelled, "You have no right to lecture me about our father! You were absent that evening. You did not witness him, shattered and defeated, following the board's abandonment."

A sudden sharp pain pierced my chest. The memory of Dad's suicide on that night was deeply buried within me, a wound that never completely closed.

"How dare you mention that!" I growled, my voice quivering with a combination of rage and sorrow.

"But it is accurate, correct?" Ethan continued on, his voice tinged with a cruel tone. "While you were traveling the world and building your own empire, Dad was left to clean up the messes from both of our lives. How did he reciprocate your actions? By committing suicide!"

The allegation felt as if it physically struck me. The room seemed to tip over, and briefly, I could nearly make out Dad's voice, his words brimming with disappointment. "Adrian, you could have supported him."

"Get the fuck out right now Ethan!"

Ethan paused briefly, a hint of pity appearing on his face. After that, he simply shrugged and left, leaving me to confront the memories of the past and the turmoil inside me.

I settled back in my seat, feeling the scotch as it seared down my throat. Father. The betrayal in the meeting room. Ethan's careless betting. Everything was connected, a complex entanglement that felt like it could overwhelm me.

Father deserved something better. The company which he constructed deserved improved treatment. I, Adrian Thorn, wouldn't allow everything to fall apart due to my useless stepbrother.

"I will clean up after you, Ethan," I whispered to myself, the sparkle in my gaze as icy and unyielding as the ice rattling in my cup. "But, you will pay. You will face the consequences."

The door opened with a creak, breaking the oppressive silence before Leonardo, my best friend, who is a walking contradiction, appeared with a puff of cigar smoke. Leo, a millionaire playboy during the day and a ruthless financial shark at night, had a charm that left me questioning our friendship.

"Finally!" he shouted loudly, his face adorned with a crazy smile. "I was beginning to believe you were developing facial hair in that area, pondering over the difficulties of your unreliable brother."

I gave him a sharp look while looking over the top of my glass. Leo, always the one with a sensitive nature.

He laughed loudly, creating a booming noise that resonated in the study. "Hey, just wanted to see how you're doing. How much time has passed, huh? Possibly two or three weeks? Beginning to lose your spark, my old buddy."

I sneered. "Cleaning up after someone else does not involve any physical contact."

Leo arched an eyebrow, with amusement shimmering in his eyes. "Is that the purpose of all this?" That whining brother of yours?"

"Don't refer to him that way," I snarled, the sound hushed and menacing.

He raised his hands in feigned surrender. "Sure, sure. Hey Adrian, let's be real," he said, leaning in closer and speaking in a hushed tone. "Did I see you with a chick earlier, back at the airport? She your new play toy?"

His words caused a shock within me. How the hell did he know?

"And she's not a fucking toy." I said, with a sharp tone in my voice. "Similar to a...surprise purchase."

He laughed loudly, the noise reverberating in the room. "Surprise you say? Sounds captivating. Would you mind introducing me to your new... purchase?"

At that exact moment, a hesitant knock on the door broke our conversation.

"Enter," I exclaimed, a touch of irritation seeping into my words.

Melody stood there as the door slowly opened a small crack.

She had on a garment that could be loosely defined as a dress - a plain, white item that hugged her figure in a manner that caught me off guard.

Her shy brown eyes shifted back and forth between me and Leo, and a flush rose on her neck.

At that moment, right on time, Leonardo whistled loudly in appreciation. "Well, well, Adrian," he said slowly, staring fixedly at Melody. "It appears that your acquisition has more substance than you let on."

Chapter 3 Episode 3

MELODY'S POV

The luxurious bathroom, it belonged to, made the plush white bathrobe hanging loosely on my bruised frame seem like a cruel joke. In the mirror, I saw a scared deer in a lion's den, taunting me.

I felt intense shame as I looked at the fading purple spots on my arms and legs, which carried memories of my previous life, while the bath's warmth faded away, taking with it the temporary comfort I had managed to cling to.

However, embarrassment would not help me with my main issue. My menstrual cycle felt like an approaching thunderstorm, and the limited resources in my bag were barely enough to be considered.

I squared my shoulders and inhaled deeply.

I nervously tapped on the study door, interrupting the conversation going on inside. A low growl that made me tremble slightly. "Come in," it said.

Opening the door with effort, I entered quietly, sensing like a tiny mouse sneaking into a dangerous lion's territory. As I entered, two figures appeared as silhouettes against the large window.

"Mr. Thorn?" I stuttered, struggling to make my voice heard over the thumping of my heart.

Adrian's response was smoother and more charming than I had expected, "Melody. Everything okay?"

"I, um..." My cheeks felt as if they were ablaze. "I must talk to you in private," I whispered, glancing at the man sitting in a chair, his intense gaze sending shivers down my spine.

Adrian and his companion shared a meaningful wordless look between them.

"Leo, please wait a moment," Adrian eventually spoke, his tone brief yet still polite.

Leonardo, a stereotypical wealthy playboy, stood up from his seat, a smug expression on his face.

"Sure thing, gorgeous," he said slowly, his gaze lingering on me for a moment too long before walking away, leaving me alone with Adrian.

Once the door closed, a rush of words spilled out. "I... I need some... women's items," I blurted out, my voice barely audible. I could almost taste the thickness of the shame that engulfed me.

Adrian's face showed surprise momentarily before quickly understanding. Praise the Lord. A sense of relief flooded through me, intermingled with a hint of begrudging admiration.

"Certainly, Melody," he replied, his voice steady and comforting. "There is no reason to feel ashamed. It is the nature of being a woman."

He approached a modern desk hidden in the corner, like a predator hunting its prey.

"Here," he murmured, offering the box with a deep voice. When I went to grab it, our fingers touched, creating a shock of electricity within me.

"Thank you," I whispered, my heart pounding in my chest.

For a brief moment, he locked eyes with me, his icy blue gaze impossible to decipher. Next, a slight grin appeared on his mouth.

"Do not worry about it, Melody," he reassured, his voice causing chills to run down my back. "Now, can you let me know if there is something else you require?"

I nodded silently, feeling my cheeks getting hot.

"Okay," he responded, his voice regaining a hint of authority. "Make yourself at home. There is much for us to talk about."

I faced the door, gripping the box tightly in my hand, using it as a small protection against the unfamiliar.

"Melody," he halted me with just one word.

I looked behind me, feeling a combination of fear and excitement in my stomach.

"Thank you Mr. Thorn."

"No need for the formalities anymore," he said, a playful glint in his eyes. "Call me Adrian."

The simple request hit me like a bolt of lightning. Was this... a flicker of something... kindness?

I felt a sense of relief as I exited the study, holding the box tightly in my hand. The phrase "Call me Adrian," was stuck to my head, repeating over and over as if it held more meaning than just words.

I gazed down the seemingly endless hallway. As I was about to enter the elevator, a voice halted me.

"Are you departing already, lovely?"

Leonardo remained in that spot, with a delightful grin on his face. His eyes stayed on me for a moment too long, making me very conscious of the borrowed robe hugging my body. My cheeks were on fire.

"I just, uh... had something I needed to attend to," I mumbled, speaking barely louder than a whisper.

"Interested in a ride?" he asked, his voice velvety and implying. "You seem like you need a friend."

His gaze shifted down my body, pausing at my thighs – which were thicker than those of most models, a source of self-doubt I had always carried with me. But, when combined with my small waist, I suddenly noticed that it seemed to catch his eye.

Fear overwhelmed me. I wanted to blend into the wall, to vanish.

"I... I don't want to bother you," I muttered, my voice barely audible.

His face broke into a gradual smile. "No problem, princesa," he said in a slow, lazy manner, the endearing term causing a chill to run down my back. Moreover, we wouldn't want you to roam around this city by yourself, would we?"

He moved nearer, his fragrance encroaching on my personal boundary. The atmosphere was filled with a tension that simultaneously scared and fascinated me.

"Mr. Thorn may not like this." I blurted out.

A low chuckle rumbled out of his chest. "Adrian," he corrected, his voice a husky whisper. "And trust me, sweetheart, he may want you," he leaned in closer, his breath warm on my ear, "but I want you even more."

The words hung heavy in the air, a challenge mingled with a promise. Before I could react, before I could even form a coherent thought, the elevator doors opened. A wave of nausea washed over me.

Should I accept his offer? Run back to Adrian? Or disappear altogether?

Trapped between two powerful men, the air suddenly felt thick with a suffocating mix of fear, confusion, and a strange, exhilarating thrill. The walls seemed to close in on me, the weight of the decisions pressing hard on my chest, leaving me more trapped than ever.
