"Good morning, Greg. What would you like for breakfast?" "What? Did you just call me Greg? Are we mates? What gives you the right to call me that? Just because you're my wife? Listen, don't you ever call me Greg." "But... we're... married..." "So what? I only married you because of my grandmother. And let's face it, we're not on the same level, whether it's age, class, or status. You're just an eighteen-year-old country girl." "I'm 26, and you're only 18. An eight-year age gap isn't a joke. Just because we're married doesn't mean you can call me by my name. Didn't your parents teach you to respect your elders?" "How should I address you then?" "Just call me sir. I don't ever want to hear 'Greg' from your mouth again," I said sternly "The Billionaire's Country Girl Bride" is an engaging novel about the marriage between Greg, a rich businessman, and Sophie, a young country girl. Chapter 1 First day as a married couple

"Greg, good morning? What would you like for breakfast?"

"What? Did you just call me Greg? Are we mates? What gives you the right to call me that name? Because you're my wife? Hey kid, listen, Don't you ever call me Greg."

"But... We're...married..."

"So what? I only married you because of my grandmother. And looking at it, we're not on the same level, be it age, class, or status! You're just an eighteen-year-old country girl."

............

"I'm 26 and you're just 18, eight years age gap isn't a joke. The fact that we're married doesn't give you the right to call me by my name. Didn't your parents teach you about respecting your elders?"

"How should I address you then?"

"Just call me sir. I don't ever want to hear Greg from that tiny mouth of yours."

" You just spoiled my mood this early morning."

I quickly went into my bedroom and changed into formal clothes. Took my briefcase and left. On my way to the door, I heard her say something stupid.

" Sir, where are you going to?"

This girl must be crazy.

"Where am I going to? Who are you to ask me such things? I think I have to set some rules in this house. Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you now, I don't mind you taking a paper and pen to jot them down since your brain isn't matured enough.

Number one, you must maintain your distance from me. At no point should you be any means whether mistakenly or intentionally touch me.

Number two, Don't ever see me as your husband, don't even think about it, just see me as your Brother taking care of you since you can't afford to do that!

Number three, I don't want to see you near my things, my clothes, shoes, bags, in fact, I don't ever want to see you in my bedroom.

There is an exception though, since we're having our honeymoon and grandma intentionally arranged a one-room apartment for us with only one bathroom, just take your bath whenever I'm no where in sight and leave the bathroom. I slept on the sofa last night, you will be sleeping on the sofa while I stay in the bedroom till our honeymoon is over. Once we go back to my house, I have different rooms, just pick one and stay in there. I don't want to see you near my bedroom, okay?"

... Ok..okay"

" Rule number three, whenever we happen to go out in public, which I know wouldn't happen often except for family gatherings, you can touch me but, Don't be too clingy.

" Anytime grandma comes visiting, that is the only time you're permitted to enter my bedroom."

"And also, my food is none of your concerns except I specifically request for it. That's all for now, I'd let you know about the rest later."

I said and walked out of the house.

Sophie and I got married yesterday. It was a very private wedding strictly for immediate family members only. The private wedding was my idea which my parents and grandmother readily agreed to since it was the only condition I gave for the wedding to happen between us. I have never seen my so-called "wife" before in my life. The first time I saw her was on the altar yesterday and I must say she's beautiful and so young but, she isn't my type. She's isn't up to the standard of women I like, she's below par. Immediately I saw her yesterday, I knew this wasn't going to work. I only did this out of the respect I have for my grandmother. Infact, I owe her my life. She's the only person I don't say no to anything she asks. When she approached me about the marriage matter, I didn't say no even though I knew I wasn't ready. My mother had set me up with countless women over the years which I turned everyone of them down. She was even surprised when she said I was getting married to whom grandma chose for me.

Sophie, yeah my wife's name. I heard she's a country girl from Gema village. I heard from my grandmother how her family saved her when she went to the village for a project few years back. The only way she thought she could repay them was her grandson marrying their daughter to change their status. I saw her parents and how they looked yesterday, I must say, they really looked poor. Even trying to push them for the wedding up still couldn't hide their status. They were really nice to me at the wedding and I acted like the best son-in-law yesterday.

Sophie wore a simple wedding gown that covered everywhere, I don't know who chose that kind of wedding gown for her. Yes, it was expensive but I didn't like it. I love my women showing some skin, sexy and slim with blonde hair. Well, she's the opposite of the women I liked.

After our vows, when we were asked to kiss the bride, I gave her a quick peck so as not to cause a scene. The way she was waiting for that kiss, you'd know that's her first kiss but I'm sure she didn't enjoy it.

My grandmother arranged a two-week honeymoon for us in Green island but I lied about a business I needed to work on the following week and she agreed to one week. The truth is, I don't even see her as a woman at all. I can't even take her out, a whole Billionaire like me, settling for that?

I looked at her throughout our wedding yesterday and my conclusion was to treat her like a sister.

The incident that happened this morning to me made me angry and it was funny at the same time. When she came asking what I'd like to eat, she really looked funny.

Imagine her calling me Greg?? Are we mates? My sister wouldn't try that with me and she's two years older than her.

And what was that dress? Why is she dressed like that? What did I get myself into? I can't even show her to my friends nor the outside world. Thank God it was a private wedding and the public still sees me as a bachelor because how am I going to tell them the hottest Billionaire bachelor settled for that?......

Chapter 2 Moving into Greg's house

After our honeymoon, I moved back to Greg's house. I must say, I have never seen a house this big in my life, with so many rooms. This is more like a king's mansion. Greg directed me to my room, which was just two rooms away from his own. Since the incident that happened on the first day of our honeymoon, I gave him his boundaries. My mother told me to always respect my husband and do whatever he asks me to do. She made me understand the impact he made in our family and how things changed for us.

I witnessed how we barely had food to eat and how Nana, like I always call his grandmother, changed our lives. I was able to attend high school all thanks to Nana and her support. She made sure my family and I never lacked anything. When my parents called me to tell me about the marriage plans, I wasn't okay with the idea, but Nana said it's going to be good for me and my parents consented to it, so I agreed immediately.

When I first saw Greg on our wedding day, I first looked at myself to know what was going on? It felt like a dream because he was so tall and handsome. With a well-built body, black hair, and brown eyes. His face looks angelic, with strong cheekbones. I blushed when our eyes met and looked away immediately. He's nothing compared to Daniel, my crush in high school. Dan is fine, but Greg is very beautiful and more mature. The way he carries himself, the way he walks, the aura around him, and I could see he's well-respected. He was gentle all through the wedding and nice to my parents, until the next morning when he told me to start calling him sir and the rules he set. I agreed to everything he said, besides, he's the man, the head of the house, and we're not even mates. My parents really emphasized respecting my husband, and I'm going to do just that.

Throughout our honeymoon, the only time I saw him was early in the morning on days when I wake up early before he leaves for God knows where he's going. And he comes back late at night. I don't sleep until he comes back, that's what my mom told me, and I've seen her wait for my dad on several occasions like that. Anytime he comes back, I only greet him "welcome sir" and go to sleep since I slept on the sofa. He just nods and goes into the bedroom. That was how we did our one-week honeymoon before coming back to Annex city.

Greg personally showed me my room and also helped with my luggage. I was surprised at first and accepted his help. After settling inside, he called me out a few minutes later to introduce me to his workers at home. I must say, he has all the money because why does he have cooks, cleaners, security, a driver, and gardeners when he's the only one staying in the house. I was warmly welcomed by everyone, and what shocked me the most, he didn't introduce me as his wife.

"Everyone, meet Sophie, a family member. She's going to be staying here now"

Wait, that's all? A family member? I thought

I looked at him surprised, and he gave me a cold look. I quickly returned my gaze back to the workers and smiled. They all left to their various posts after the introduction and left. We were the only one left in the sitting room, I looked at him, he gave me a questioning gaze indicating what I was doing there. I left my room and saw one of the cleaners arrange my room. I tried to assist her in cleaning the room but she refused. I insisted on arranging my clothes myself, which she agreed to. After the cleaning, I showered and changed into more comfortable clothes. I wore a big long cotton trouser with a round-neck top. Packed my hair into a ponytail and went outside to look at the garden.

On entering the sitting room, I heard the sound of a car and a lady coming down from the car. She entered the sitting room and I could see some of the workers running down to welcome her, calling her "madam."

"Madam?" I don't understand, she's young and almost of the same age as Greg, why are they calling her madam? I thought to myself.

Before I knew what was happening, she ran towards Greg, sat on his lap, and hugged him. She loosened her arms around him and kissed him, telling him how much she missed him. I stood dumbfounded, I couldn't say anything; I was looking at what was happening before me. She suddenly looked at me as she was now comfortably sitting on his lap with her head on one of his arms.

"Hi, who are you?"

"I'm Sophie," I answered.

"I don't care about your name, who are you? And why are you here?" she said impatiently.

Before I could say anything, Greg replied, "She's a family member."

What? Family members again? I said

He gave me a cold look, I just greeted her smiling and walked out of the sitting room.

Outside, I told one of the workers to show me around, which he did. I enjoyed every view and angle of the garden. I saw beautiful flowers from lilies to roses and so many others. What excited me most was a spot with beautiful scenery where you can rest in the garden. I went there, sat down on the grass, and brought out my phone to read some materials since I'm preparing for my entrance exam into the university. Going to university was one thing my parents asked of Nana before marrying Greg. Nana agreed to it and I know Greg is very much aware. I didn't pick Annex university because I needed to be free and enjoy university life. So, I opted for Bellaris University outside Annex city so I could stay in the dormitory and leave on my own for a while before going back to my married life I wasn't prepared for.

Time passed and the atmosphere changed. I went back inside; I didn't see both of them in the sitting room. As I climbed the stairs heading to my room, I heard a female's laughter coming from Greg's room. It seems they're still around. I passed his room and went straight to my room. I didn't know what was happening to me, but I knew I wasn't feeling okay. I hated the sound of her laugh. I just plugged in my earplugs and started listening to songs. I was in my own world, I couldn't hear anything aside from the song I was listening to.

I didn't know one of the workers had been knocking for a while. I noticed my song stopped playing and realized someone was calling my phone. It was an unknown number, but I picked up, and the next thing I heard was a cold voice that said, "Come downstairs." I was confused at first before I realized it was Greg's voice. How did he get my number? I don't remember we've ever exchanged numbers these past weeks. I quickly saved his number with "sir" and went downstairs.

Chapter 3 My wife has a crush

My cook informed me about our dinner. I went downstairs with Rose but I didn't see Sophie anywhere. We waited for minutes and I told one of my workers to call her but she came back telling me she isn't answering. I brought out my phone and called her number I collected from Nana before our wedding. She picked up immediately the phone rang and I just told her to come downstairs. Few minutes later she came downstairs wearing.....

How did I miss it? What was I thinking about agreeing to marry her? I thought

Rose suddenly burst out laughing on seeing what Sophie and what she was wearing. I was embarrassed and angry, she's going to bring a lot of shame to my name and my family's name, that I know for sure.

Grandma should know about my taste before bringing this to me. I've dated a couple of celebrities which are not hidden to the public but..... what is so special about Sophie for her to insist on me marrying her?

I was thinking about this when I suddenly heard Sophie's voice calling me sir.

" Sir, did you call me just now? Is that your number sir?"

I nodded and said yes coldly. She joined us at the dining table and sat at the other side facing me. Rose was seated beside me, dishing my food on my plates. We all ate silently. After we finished eating, Sophie stood up and started clearing the plates and dishes, and Rose stopped her from doing so.

"You don't have to do that, we have workers for that" she said

Sophie still insisted on carrying them, before my cook came and cleared everything.

As Sophie was about to leave, Rose suddenly started asking her questions.

" How old are you Sophie"

"Eighteen" she replied

" How are you related to my Greg? "

"Uhmm..... I'm from his grandmother's side" she said

" Are you done with high school? And what about college?"

"Yes. I'm preparing for my entrance exam into Bellaris University"

"Bellaris University? Why? It's quite far and I think Annex University is better"

" Well, I just love the university," Sophie replied.

" Do you have a boyfriend?" Sophie Suddenly asked

Who would date this? She looks too innocent to have one.

"No" she replied shyly

Rose smiled and started teasing her.

" Even if you don't have a boyfriend, you must have a crush or a boy you like somewhere"

I looked at her wanting to know what her reply would be, but to my surprise, she just looked down and blushed without saying anything.

Wait, she has a crush? Why is she blushing? Who is the boy?? My wife is not permitted to have a crush on another person!

I suddenly stood up and left for my bedroom. As I was climbing the stairs, I heard Rose ask her whether the boy knew about her feelings. I paused for a bit, trying to hear what her reply would be.

" No, he doesn't know" she replied

He'd better not know and that nonsense crush is ending today! I thought

I went to my bedroom and called Pete to carry out an investigation on Sophie and the boys she had been in contact with in her high school.

" I want that information first thing tomorrow morning" I said to Pete and hung up.

Rose came in a few minutes later and tried to touch me, I refused and told her to leave me alone. She knew immediately I wasn't in a good mood and she knew better not to disturb me when I'm in such a mood. She took her bag quietly and left.

While I was reminiscing about what happened earlier, my phone rang, and it was my grandmother.

" Greg, how are you" she said

"I'm fine grandma. How are you doing too? Hope all is well, hope you're taking your drugs and resting well."

"Yes, my son. How's your wife?"

"She's fine" I replied

" She's there with you right? I'd like to talk to her, give her the phone"

......

The way I ran out of my bedroom towards her room without sounding suspicious because my grandma is quite smart. I told her to hold on, I muted the call, knocked on Sophie's door but to my surprise, she was on another call with somebody. I immediately unmuted the call, told grandma she was sleeping and bidded goodbye and hung up.

I stood by her door trying to listen to whom she was talking with and to my surprise, it was a boy's voice. As far as I'm concerned, she's the only child of her parents and I know she doesn't have a brother anywhere. Who could that be? The crush?

The call didn't last long. She suddenly opened the door and saw me standing in front of her door.

" Sir, I'm sorry I didn't open the door when you knocked,I was on a call sir"

" With whom? " I asked with a cold voice

" My.... My... friend" she replied stuttering

" Male or female?" The question was already out of my mouth before I realized it was none of my business. I didn't wait for her reply before I started walking towards my bedroom. She suddenly held my arm trying to stop from leaving.

" Sir I'm sorry, it was my high school friend. He called to ask me about some questions concerning our entrance exam sir" she said pleadingly

" Are you crazy? What did I tell you about touching me or coming close to me" I said angrily.

She immediately removed her hand and started apologizing. I walked out on her and went to my bedroom.

I couldn't sleep for a while, why am I bothered about that small girl? Why is she giving me problems? She can do whatever she wants with her life, but she's not permitted to see any boy as far as she is Mrs Williams. She's not going to have a crush on some random boy under my roof!

I went back to my study table and started working on the documents I haven't reviewed and signed because of my honeymoon. I worked throughout the night without sleeping.
