The Billionaire's Wife's Revenge

Chapter 1:

Rhoda Alexander sitting at her best friend's stall where she sells flowers as she went through the garden sniffing all the beautiful flower's when she got a text on her phone. She opened the text and saw an address to a hotel then a photo followed the address, she was shocked to see the photo as she screamed.

Her friend Melia ran to her as she asked what was wrong, she saw Rhoda was in no condition to answer her so she took the phone from her hand to see what she saw that made her react the way she did. She took her phone and she saw a photo of Rhoda's boyfriend Elijah kissing her elder sister Cindy.

Rhoda looked at Melia as she said "This can't be true right", Melia didn't know what to tell her as she had always had her suspicions of the relationship Cindy and Elijah had but she didn't have evidence to prove her claim but seeing the photo of Cindy and Elijah kissing she was so sure now.

Just then she received a phone call to deliver flowers to a hotel, when she heard the address of the hotel her face lit up as she looked at Rhoda then she closed the deal and came to Rhoda as she said "Girl, I just got an order to go to a hotel and guess what‼" Rhoda looked at her with tears in her eyes as Melia said to her "It is the exact same hotel in the text and do you know what that means".

Rhoda understood what Melia meant as she nodded saying "No I can't" Melia held her hands as she said to her with a stern voice "Look, those bastards broke your trust, for all we know this could be true or false but the only way we can find out is by going over there now" she looked at her wristwatch as she said "I have a flower delivery there in like thirty minutes so we need to get going".

Rhoda cleaned her eyes as she got into the car while Melia loaded her car with the flowers that were ordered, then she got into the car and then they drove off to the hotel. When they got there, Melia told her "Girl, don't worry I will sort everything here so you can go check out the room number and I will be with you shortly".

Rhoda stood for a moment as she took a deep breathe in then she walked towards the elevator, she walked in and then she got up to the floor where they were lodged. She knocked on the door and when the door was opened Elijah saw her and he was shocked to see her standing at the door of his hotel room then he said "Rhoda!" hearing that Cindy stood up from the bed and came towards the door as she saw Rhoda.

When she saw them, she was shooked as she took steps back then she ran away, and they followed her immediately, when they got down to the lobby Cindy held her hand and dragged her back as she turned with tears in her eyes then she asked "What do you want, you have finally taken my boyfriend isn't that enough why are you still holding me back".

Cindy smiled as she said to her spitefully "I just wanted to see your face well and see how broken you are" Rhoda looked at her as she said "What did I ever do to you, ever since we were young you have always hated me it wasn't my fault my mom married your dad if you hated it so much why didn't you speak up".

Cindy yelled at her and said "Yes I hate you and I have never ever seen you as my sister ever, your mom the only child of the Lockhart's married a poor accountant and after marriage she gave him an opportunity to work in the family's company and now your precious mummy is sick and what did we find out that she gave her entire wealth to you, she didn't even think about me or my dad, that hag of a mother you have gave all her wealth everything and even the mansion we live in, she gave it all to you so tell me, how can I not hate you".

Rhoda was surprised as she had no idea about the will her mother wrote, it was news to her so how on earth did Cindy find out about something like that that she didn't know about, she looked at Cindy as she smiled then she said to her "How is that my fault, and you talk about properties, none of that was yours to begin with, my mom is a billionaire heiress who married your dad, what did you think that she was going to give all her wealth to you and your dad, of course not she won't, so stop dreaming" she looked at Elijah as she said to Cindy "Is that why you took Elijah from me?".

Cindy smiled as she said to her "What do you think, he was never in love with you, he was sick and tired of your self-righteousness and uptightness so of course he would leave you and come to me". Rhoda looked at the both of them as she had tears in her eyes then she said to them as she wiped the tears of her face "I can't be here anymore, I just can't" as she turned to leave Cindy held the end of the carpet that was close to her and pulled it which made Rhoda fall flat on the floor.

She felt so embarrassed as she laid there on the floor, some people at the reception and some of the staff who were there looked at her which was very embarrassing for her, her friend Melia hurriedly came to her aid as she held her up and gave a stern look at Cindy and Elijah, as she was about to speak to them Rhoda held her hand as she said to her in a low tone "Let's just go please, I don't want to be here" she nodded as she held her hand and took her away from there.

Cindy and Elijah watched as she left the hotel as they acted like nothing happened held hands with a smile and went back up to their room, while they left a gentleman walked towards where they stood as he watched them leave then he turned to look at Rhoda as she left with Melia.

He turned to his secretary as he asked in a stern, manly Chris Hemsworth kind of voice as he said to him "I need everything on that young lady" his secretary nodded as he went to the elevator to go up to his suite.

When he got up shortly after, his secretary came up as he handed over an iPad to the gentleman as he said to him "This is all the information we have on the young lady sir, she is the daughter of the heiress of the Lockhart's family Mrs Sarah Lockhart now Mrs Alexander being that she got married again after her husband died in an accident that took her entire family. Her husband was with a little girl Cindy Alexander who happens to be her step sister and the lady at the reception earlier, and the young man at the reception is the boyfriend to Rhoda or should I say was looking at the current development and you know his family".

The young man sighed as he saw the photo of Elijah, the secretary looked at his boss as he said "Sorry to say sir but why do I feel like I know what you are thinking right now" the gentleman stood up as he walked toward the window in his room looking out in his black robe as he said "I am sure you do, I need to have a meeting with that lady tomorrow make sure of that" the secretary paused for a moment as his boss said "I know it will be hard but I trust you" the secretary nodded as he left the room.

The young man looked at Rhoda's photo as he dropped the iPad on his bed and went into th shower to freshen up.

That night after a meeting the young man had with some associates, they finished it up at a club, after the insistence of his business associates being that they were foreign expatriates he agreed, when they got there, he saw they were wowed the stripping while he sat there with his legs crossed and he watched them while looking at his watch as he decided he was going to leave after an hour.

A stripper tried to give him a lap dance but he raised a hand up as he signaled her no, then he alerted the associates of his departure but they were too engrossed in the fun they were having so he asked his secretary to take care of them while he left.

On his way out he saw a familiar face at the bar as he walked closer and saw it was Rhoda, she looked so drunk as he watched her ask a man to sleep with her as she had a lot of money and was going to pay him handsomely, the man doubted her so she brought out her phone to make a transfer to him, knowing she was capable of doing that because she was a rich heiress the young man went to her aid as he held her hand and stopped her.

The man at the bar saw she was about to make a transfer to him and got excited but his mood was spoilt when the young man came and stopped her from sending him the money, he stood up in anger as he faced the young man but he stood up to a 6.5 perfectly built young man he had to raise his head to look at his face so he smiled as he walked away.

The young man brought out his card and handed over to the barman as he said he was going to take Rhoda with him and he should call the number there tomorrow to confirm her safety, seeing that the young man will go that far to prove his authenticity to the bartender he smiled as he said to him "I don't know why but I think the young lady is in safer hands with you" the young man nodded as he carried Rhoda out of the club, put her in the back seat of his car and took her to his penthouse.

He was on a call with his secretary as he called to let him know he had taken the expatriates safely to their hotel rooms, when he was done and turned to face her, she was completely naked standing facing him. He looked at her from her head to her toe as he noticed she was feeling dizzy and drowsy.

He walked up to her slowly as he stood so close her body could feel his, then he lifted her up and walked towards the bathroom as he got in and kept her under the shower and turned it on so the water could cool her off from her head down to her toes.

When he was done, he cleaned her up, wore her his shirt and tucked her in bed so she could sleep, she was so tired she didn't even realize it, as he tucked her in, she fell asleep immediately. He sighed as he went in to shower, changed into his pyjamas and went to his study to work because he had an important meeting the following day he had to prepare for.

The following morning when she woke up, she had a migraine as she turned and saw a cup of coffee by her side and some medicines for her migraine, she looked around to see where she was as the door to the room opened and a young handsome man walked through with his shirt on but unbuttoned so his chest was bare.

She looked at him as she was lost in his hotness then he saw she was up as he said "You are up, nice". She looked under the blanket and saw all she had on was just a shirt as she saw her clothes on the couch and she immediately asked in anger "What happened here last night, how dare you take advantage of me".

He walked close to her as she layed back in and then he said "How about you calm down and think carefully about what happened last night and don't flatter yourself you are not my type I wouldn't touch you even if a gun was pointed to my head".

He walked away and went back to getting dressed for his meeting as she looked at him thinking about what he just said to her as she said "Is that supposed to make me feel better", she sat down for a while as the events of yesterday all played out in her head as she stood up and walked out of the room and went out to see herself in a big beautifully decorated and expensive house.

She smiled as she said "I guess he has good taste" then she thought for a second who he was and where she was so she rushed back to the room to get her phone so she could make a call but her battery was dead, while she was there a maid came to call her out as she came to the study to meet the young man.

When she walked in still dressed in his shirt he looked at her as he said "I didn't know you loved my shirt so much, here I was thinking you should have changed back into you clothing by now" she looked at herself as she cleared her throat and asked "Who are you if I may ask and thank you for yesterday, I remember what happened" he nodded as he said "Don't you think that was rather careless of you to do, going to a bar to get yourself drunk to stupor, what if some random person took advantage of you" she gulped as she bent her head in shame as she was also disappointed by what she did.

She was about to speak when he said to her "I have a proposition for you" she looked at him as she said "I don't even know who you are and here you are wanting to talk business with me while I am still in your shirt", "and whose fault is that" he asked she looked at him as she sighed.

She adjusted herself as she asked "What is your proposition Mr." he looked at her with a condescending look as he said to her "You might have heard of me" she gave him a confusing look as he continued "But let me introduce myself, my name is Chris, Chris Reed" she looked at him as she said Reed, she knows the only Reed in the whole of Queens was her ex-boyfriend Elijah's family then she remembered Elijah had told her once of an elder brother he had who lived in London for a long time and wasn't sure if he was coming back.

She gave him a puzzled look as she said "I guess I can finally put a face and a personality to the face", he lifted one of his eyebrows up as he gave her a look and said "I guess you have heard a few nasty things about me" she nodded as he said "Well believe all of them", she was surprised at the nerve and audacity he had to even say that then she asked "Your proposition, what is it about".

He looked at her as he stood up from his seat and walked towards the window in his study, he turned to her and said "Marry me" she burst into laughter as he looked at how she laughed, he sat down across her and crossed his legs waiting for her to be done with her laughter as he said to her "I must admit, I thought all you knew how to do was cry but it feels good to see you are much better after the embarrassment you endured at the hotel".

She gave him a surprising look as he said "I had a meeting yesterday at the hotel and while I was leaving to my suite, I saw that spectacle that was created by your sister and my father's son" she looked at him as she remembered Elijah telling her how he did not have a good relationship with his elder brother so it makes sense that Chris would call him that instead of his brother.

She folded her hands as she said "Fine, you saw me at my lowest but why should I marry you, what would I gain from it and what would you even gain from it, we don't love each other so why?" he stared at her as he said "Marriages don't have to be based on love, I mean we have so many of such marriages which ended in divorce and betrayal. But a situation where two people come together and have a mutual agreement to be together for whatever reason that doesn't involve love of course, the chances of betrayal are thin".

She pulled her seat closer to his as she said "Who hurt you this bad that you don't believe in love anymore" for a moment he was quiet but then he said to her "Look the reason I want to marry you is because my grandfather keeps insisting I get married and I don't want to, he made that a criterion for me and if I don't get married before the next board meeting, everything will go to Elijah and I don't want that happening not after my mother has slaved so hard for that company".

Rhoda gave him a concern look as she said to him "So you have told me what you want from this marriage, now, what's in it for me?" he laid back in his seat as he placed one of his hands on the arm rest and said to her "Your mother's will" she looked at him shocked as to how he knew about something she didn't know about, then he said to her "There is a clause in the will and the clause is that you get married, your sister knew about that before she made her move on your ex to stop that from happening giving her and her father more time to take the properties leaving you with nothing".

She stood up in shock as she shouted "What‼" then he said to her "The choice is yours, and besides don't worry about the marriage, what we will have will be contractual and after three years of being together we an get a divorce" she looked at him as she was seeing reason with what he said, she asked for a day to think about what to do so he agreed as he said "You have until midnight".

He took a file on his table as he said "Get yourself cleaned up and changed, I will have my driver drop you home when you are done" as he turned to leave, she called out to him "Mr. Reed" he turned and gave her a stare as she said "Thank you", he nodded and left her in the study.

Rhoda got home and was welcomed by her step father and sister, he asked where she was as she said she spent the night at a friend's place, she was about to walk away as he called her back, she reluctantly came back as he said to her "I know what your sister did was wrong but let bygones be bygones just leave Elijah for her".

Rhoda smirked as she looked at her step father Simon and Cindy as she said to them "I am going up to see my mom" he tried to stop her saying she was asleep but she refused he then blocked her path as he said to her "I know she is your mother, but she is my wife and if I say she need rest she needs rest" Rhoda looked at how he acted as she felt something was fishy, at that point she knew Chris was somewhat right about what he said earlier.

She went up to her room as a maid came in with a glass of juice then she asked the maid after closing her door as she said "Did the doctor come in today?" the maid nodded as she said with concern in her voice "Yes the doctor came but not the family doctor, from what I heard I think your step father changed the doctor to a female one, she was quite pretty and honestly didn't look like a doctor".

Rhoda sighed as she thanked the maid for telling her then the maid left, it wasn't even midnight yet as she picked up her phone and gave Chris a call as she said "Mr. Reed I am ready, where do I sign", Chris had a little grin on his face as he said "Very well then, I will see you at my place tomorrow so we can talk more about the plans for our marriage". She nodded as they both ended the call.

When Simon got into his room, Rhoda's sick mom was laying in bed as she asked of Rhoda saying she thought she heard a voice like hers outside so he lied and said to her "Oh! my love it wasn't Rhoda, she isn't back yet however she sent a text saying she was at a friend's place, she asked that I tell you not to worry and you should rest as much as you can so you recover fast" she smiled as she said to him "What will I do without you my dear" he smiled as he gave her a kiss as he caressed her hair so she could sleep.

It was nighttime and Rhoda said she wasn't hungry as she was in her room while Cindy and her day went down to have their breakfast, she took advantage of the opportunity as she went in to her mother's room to see her. When she got in, she called out to her mom and when she opened her eyes she was so happy to see her, then she told Rhoda what her step father had said as she wondered why he would lie to her mom, at that point she became more convinced that the father and daughter were plotting something treacherous, she promised her mom one thing before she left the room as she said to her "I promise you mom, I will take good care of you and I will make sure no one harms you no matter what".

Her mom didn't know why she made that promise but she smiled as she nodded, she gave her mom a kiss on her forehead as she left the room, when she got out of the room, Cindy was coming in and they bumped into each other, she was about to talk when Rhoda raised her hand shutting her up as she pushed her aside and left to go to her room.

When she got there, she cried her eyes out as she cursed herself for trusting Cindy and her father and not personally taking care of her mother herself, at that point she hadn't thought of what next to do but what she did know was that she was open to whatever plans Chris had and she was going to save her mother at any cost.

The following day she got to Chris' home as she was ushered in by his maid, he was in the living room in a suit as she said to him "Is it just me or is it that you put on a suit even when you are at home, I mean if you were going to the office you would have asked me to come there" he shunned her as he said "Is it also just me or do you talk a lot".

She gave him a whimsical look as she said "Okay the contract, what are the terms of the contract marriage?" his secretary brought out the document and gave her a copy as he gave his boss one too, she looked at it as she read it aloud from the first to the tenth clause on the contract.

She sighed as she said "Well I have no complaints of this contract, everything is well explained and yes I agree" he looked at her surprised as to why she agreed immediately as he asked "What happened, why did you agree all of a sudden to this marriage" she sighed as she said "I guess I have to be honest with you and lay all my cards on the table since you did the same too".

She dropped the contract on the couch where she sat as she leaned forward and said to him "You were right about Cindy my step sister and her dad, I think they might be responsible for my mom's sickness and yesterday I found out her doctor has been changed to a female who doesn't even look the part. I don't even want to know what their plans are with my mom, all I know is I have to save her from all of this, they are shareholders at the firm and my stepdad is the current CEO but I have to get my inheritance immediately so I can take over and protect my family's legacy".

Chris looked at her with a little concern in his eyes as he changed back to his stern unconcerned look when she turned to look at him as he said "Very well Miss Alexander, I will make sure to help you protect your mom from leeches, I know what it is like to have people reap where they did not sow" she cut him off as she said "You said something yesterday about not leaving the company after your mom has laboured so hard for it, what does that mean" he sighed as he said "My dad was always that incompetent son, the one who wanted to pursue music and not the business, then he met my mom, she studied the piano but she had a degree in business, they got married and had me but then my grandpa fell sick, normally my dad would have handled the business but instead my mom did, we almost lost our company but because of my mom the Reed's empire is what it is today that is why my grandpa loved her so much and when she died he was even more hurt than I was and that is why he wants me to inherit the business and no one else because my mom laboured when my dad didn't want to".

Rhoda felt emotional hearing his story as she felt so pissed because she could tell he was telling the truth which contradicted all the lies Elijah told her of him and the family dynamics, she stood up as she extended her hand to him and gave him a handshake as she said "I am ready for this marriage, let's make the best of our partnership" he shook her hand as she smiled and he had his normal stern no smiley face look.

Then she teased him as she asked "So what do I call you after we are married, honey, baby, suger plum" he looked at her as he said "There won't be any need for that, you can call me Mr. Reed" she looked at him confused as to how a wife would call her husband that, then she said "How about I call you Chris, that would do right" he looked at her and said "You would have to earn that, in the meantime call me Mr. Reed and I will call you Mrs Reed that of course after we are married".

She nodded as she sighed, she just had to agree to it because arguing about it will be futile so she nodded and said "Okay, Mr. Reed".
