Chapter 1 Arranged Marriage

A man with elegance and a strikingly handsome face entered a grand cuisine and walked straight to the area specially reserved for him. He was wearing a cocktail slim fit tailored dark suit paired with a dress shirt, a slim tie, and polished black shoes. He sat down with flair as he splendidly stretched his left arm and looked at his watch.

His exquisite brown eyes darted from side to side. He moistened his lips and swallowed hard. He took a deep breath as he was starting to get impatient already. It was now exactly seven in the evening but his date was still out of sight. His knitted eyebrows released a cold aura emanating a powerful brooding air that outmoded the warm atmosphere of the cuisine.

Andrew Bradford is the most perfect man that a woman would ever meet. A man of a complete package - rich, young and handsome. It's his 28th birthday, and as far as he was concerned, his date was the one who initiated to have dinner with him on this special day.

Right, he was waiting for Amanda Collins. The daughter of her mom's best friend that was destined to be his wife.

His memory two years ago flashbacked in his mind. It was his 26th birthday when they announced the arranged marriage to Mandy.

"I don't want to get married!" The seventeen-year-old Mandy screamed. Her face flushing in anger.

"Mandy, listen to me." Her mom, Janeth Collins, was trying to pacify her.

"No, Mom. How could you do this to me? You know well that I don't want to get married." Pain and disappointment were written all over her face when she learned that she's going to marry Andrew Bradford, the only son of her mom's best friend.

"I was just thinking of your future, sweetheart. Please-" Janeth Collins was trying to explain, but Mandy interrupted her.

"No!" Mandy screamed once more as she shoved the glasses and plates on the table before she ran out of the house.

She was so mad. She couldn't believe that her mom would arrange a marriage for her.

Andrew's phone suddenly chimed that returned his thought. He gritted his teeth. It's been more than an hour already. He fretfully stood up and walked out of the place full of resentment.

Amanda Collins or Mandy is a stunningly gorgeous, and smart college student. She was known as 'beauty and brain but heartless', a man-hater, playgirl, and a spoiled brat. However, she doesn't care whatever names they want to call her.

She's playful and never really wanted a commitment. She has a lot of suitors but she never took them seriously because she hates every man. She only dated them to play with their feelings.

For her, only a loser fell in love. That love was only between a mother and her child. It was all because she grew up without a father.

According to her mom, Janeth Collins, she loved her father so much. However, it was a one-sided love affair. Since she was deeply in love with her father at that time, she did not mind even if he did not love her. She just hoped that he would learn to love her in the future.

Unfortunately, after her mom got pregnant, her father left with another woman.

Yes, she was born out of wedlock. She never saw her father even once. That's why she hated every man.

Although her mom told her that not all men are the same, she did not believe her especially when her mom found another man when she was eleven years old. It was the time when her mom thought that she needed a father. Thus, she tried to enter into a relationship again.

In the beginning, everything was smooth and well between her mom and her stepfather. They seemed to be a happy family although she was not close to her stepfather.

Until one day, Mandy caught her stepfather kissing another woman. She saw them with her very own eyes. She was crying back then telling her mom about what she saw. She was so mad that she said to her mom to never find another man again, that she does not need a father anymore.

Since then, her mom did not look for another man. She just focused all her attention on her.

Everything was fine up until she learned that her mom entered into an agreement with her best friend. That she would marry Andrew Bradford. She told her that she was thinking of her future.

Mandy was so furious at the time when she learned about the arranged marriage. Consequently, she did not face her mom for a month. However, her mom got sick. She learned that her mom was suffering from stage 2 liver cancer and had only a maximum of five years to live.

It's the main reason why Janeth Collins decided to announce to Mandy the arranged marriage so soon. It was because she was afraid that she was not able to witness her daughter's wedding.

Eventually, Mandy agreed to marry Andrew once she finished college. She had no choice as she did not want to give her mom any more worries.

Yet, she was still hoping that Andrew would oppose the agreement entered by their mothers. Hence, she tried everything just to offend him. But after all these years of several attempts, she failed. She never heard anything from that man.

Andrew Bradford is a billionaire that every woman dreamed of. He has almond-shaped eyes with thick eyebrows, a hawkish nose, thin lips, and a concrete jaw that complement his wide shoulders and masculine body, making him so attractive to all women.

Ever since he graduated from college, his father trained him to manage their company, the largest real estate business in the country.

Later on, he became even more famous to women when he received the title of being the Most Promising CEO at the age of twenty-five. Thus, several women are desperate to get associated with him except for one lady, Mandy.

Andrew was only nine years old at the time his mom told him about the arranged marriage. It was still clear in his memory the first time he saw the baby Mandy who looked like a lovely doll.

Mandy looked so adorable and fragile. He could not help but stare at her angelic face, tiny pink lips, and beautiful eyes with thick long eyelashes. He felt an indescribable warm feeling deep inside his heart while staring at the baby. It seemed that he wanted to protect the baby no matter what.

However, all these feelings gradually turned cold as time passed by as Mandy used to play a prank on him whenever their families had a get-together after she learned about the arranged marriage.

The most unforgettable prank that Mandy played was when she gave him a sandwich only to find out that she put chopped chilis along with the ketchup that burned his tongue. Since then, he has never eaten anything with ketchup.

Then on his 27th birthday, she even gave him a disgusting birthday cake that looked like poop. His face used to become sour every time he recalled the image of the cake.

And on his 28th birthday, when she set a dinner date with him. He thought that she finally accepted the fact that he was her future husband. However, he waited for more than an hour but she did not appear.

'What a spoiled brat!' He said to himself.

One day when he attended a client meeting, he saw Mandy together with her friends in a cafe. She was sitting next to a guy. He was observing them and not able to focus on his meeting. He saw that the guy sat closer to her and was taking advantage of holding her waist every time he had a chance.

It was obvious that Mandy was trying to distance herself and looked disgusted but the guy seemed willful.

Andrew was not able to control himself, he pulled the guy from the chair through his collar and brought him outside the café. Since then, Mandy has become more distant than before.

Because of that incident, he secretly assigned a bodyguard, Nathan, that would follow her wherever she goes. At the end of the day, Nathan would report to him everything she did.

He learned from Nathan that Mandy has a lot of suitors in the university. When Nathan informed him that she started dating, he felt restless. Only to find out later that she dumped the guy. He was not able to count how many guys she dated that later she dumped mercilessly. He couldn't help but smile whenever Nathan informed him about the good news.

Subsequently, Andrew learned that Mandy was dating a 27-year-old doctor. He ordered Nathan to keep an eye on her and to report to him immediately every time they go on a date.

"Mandy, let's have a date. I found a restaurant in the countryside which offers your favorite seafood dishes." Marco excitedly invited Mandy. They were dating for quite some time already so he was aware of her favorites.

Marco Taylor, who owned the biggest hospital in the city, met her in the emergency room when she sprained her ankle. He's tall, handsome, and looks cool in his white coat while treating his patients.

"Okay." She agreed, lacking excitement. She thought that it would be the last time that she would accept his invitation.

"Alright, I will pick you up at six o'clock in the evening," Marco said then they hung up the call.

Mandy was just enjoying her last moments of being single. She would graduate soon and would marry Andrew. She thought that it was not bad to date someone for the last time.

What a heartless woman!

Chapter 2 First Kiss

It was exactly six o'clock when Marco picked her up. He drove off to the countryside where the seafood restaurant is located. The place looks romantic for couples but not for Mandy.

Mandy and Marco sat beside each other. After they ordered a few dishes, Marco turned to her.

"Mandy, I think it's time to take our relationship to the next level." Marco stared at her with his expressive round eyes.

Mandy was stunned. She was aware that Marco does not want to enter into a serious relationship too which was one of the reasons why she dated him. She thought that it would not be hard to dump him.

Then, Mandy looked straight into his eyes, "Marco, you know well that I don't like a serious relationship." She said directly to the point. Then, she casually picked up the glass of water and drank half of it.

She was used to ditching every man she dated. She doesn't care about their pride or feelings.

However, Marco was acting differently this time. It looks like he was serious at the moment. He held her chin and turned her face to him.

"You're going to graduate soon, I think your mother will not disagree if you entered into a deeper relationship." He said looking into her eyes as if trying to read her emotions.

She removed his fingers from her chin and said irritably, "Marco, you don't understand. I really don't want a romantic relationship."

"Is it because you will get married soon?" Marco asked. He's truly interested in Mandy so he checked her family background.

Mandy was startled at first that Marco already knew about the arranged marriage. However, she did not wonder since Marco came from a prestigious family. She thought that he made an investigation about her.

"Yes." She confirmed coldly.

"But you don't love him, right?" He asked.

"It doesn't matter. Besides, I don't want to fall in love." She said truthfully.

Marco was not surprised when he heard her answer. He was aware that she was a man-hater. She used to date just to dump the guy which made her attractive to him and most men. They felt challenged because of that and he would not let himself have the same fate with other men. He thought that 'may the best man win!'.

"How come you don't want to? Be with me, I promise to protect you. I promise that I will never leave you." He held her chin once again.

But Mandy was not affected by those sweet promises. Her heart was cold as ice for every man she met. They would never have a place in her heart.

She felt that Marco was going to kiss her so she tried to push him, but Marco was strong.

"Marco, let me go!" She screamed while she struggled.

Suddenly, a man appeared in front of their table.

"Amanda!" A cold deep baritone voice of a man was heard. His expression was dark as an upcoming storm.

Mandy was shocked. She did not expect the sudden appearance of Andrew in the restaurant.

What a coincidence!

However, it was really not a coincidence. When Andrew learned from Nathan that Mandy went out for a date with Marco, he followed them without further ado.

He knew Marco well as his father was their family doctor. He was aware that Marco was the kind of man who does not give up easily. He would ensure to get everything he wants. Thus, he thought that Mandy would be in trouble this time.

Andrew grabbed her hand and pulled her near him.

Marco instantly got up and stared angrily at Andrew. But before he was able to speak, Andrew gave him a hard punch.

Andrew did not let him speak. He turned away and left the restaurant with Mandy.

How dare he, attempting to kiss his future wife!

On the way, there was a piercing silence in the car until Andrew could no longer hold his temper.

"Amanda, from now on you are not allowed to date anyone. It's your graduation next month, don't you forget that we will get married soon." He said angrily with knitted eyebrows.

However, Mandy does not want to talk to him. She put on her earphones to listen to some music in order to avoid talking with him. But Andrew immediately snatched it away.

"What are you doing?" She asked while she leaned her body toward him trying to take back her earphones. That action made their body so close that Andrew smelled her fresh scent.

Andrew was not able to control himself. He held her waist tightly and the back of her neck then pressed his lips against her. Mandy's eyes widened in shock and her face blushed. Her heart rate sped up while her body was frozen. The kiss tasted so sweet that it got deeper and more passionate the longer he kissed her.

After Mandy recovered from the shock, she tried to push him away but her strength was no match to him. He held her even tighter. So, she thought of ways to get away from that kiss. Then, an idea flickered in her mind. She suddenly bit his lips.

"Ahhh! How dare you? Do you want to be punished?" Andrew shouted angrily at her.

Mandy was scared when she saw the dangerous look in his eyes. She was about to move to the end of the car seat but Andrew was fast. He wrapped his arms around her and lay her down.

The driver felt embarrassed when he saw them in the rearview mirror. He avoided looking again afraid to be caught.

"Try to bite my lips again and you will surely regret it." He threatened her then he kissed her again.

This time it was hard but she could not bite his lips anymore in fear that he might really do something that she would regret. She just closed her eyes and let him kiss her. She thought that he would be her husband soon anyway. It was okay that he took her first kiss.

After some time, he stopped. He sat back straight again so she got up as well. No one spoke after that. Another deafening silence surrounded the car until they reached her home.

Mandy hurriedly got down the car and entered their gate without looking back at the man in the car. She could not believe that this night would turn out like this. What happened was so fast but she clearly remembered everything.

What an unforgettable experience?!

Chapter 3 One Condition

Two months passed by swiftly.

Mandy has graduated from college and her wedding with Andrew is getting nearer.

Mandy told her mom that she would like to meet Andrew before their wedding which made her mom feel glad.

Janeth Collins thought that Mandy wanted to make it up with Andrew before their wedding. She has no idea of what Mandy was really thinking.

Andrew felt glad as well when Janeth Collins informed him that Mandy would like to meet him. He agreed to meet her at ten in the morning at the restaurant located on the ground floor of their hotel.

Mandy arrived ten minutes earlier than the agreed time. However, it was past ten-thirty already, Andrew has yet to appear. She had almost lost her cool and was about to leave when she saw Andrew's familiar figure at the entrance of the restaurant. She thought that he intentionally came late.

"Why are you late?" Mandy asked angrily while she raised her eyebrow.

Andrew ignored her disappointed look and took the opposite seat handsomely.

While Andrew's assistant was shocked by how Mandy talked to his boss. He looked at her in disbelief. No one ever dared to speak to him like that knowing his temper. If anyone did, they would be punished.

"I had an important meeting. What do you want to talk about?" Andrew answered casually.

Mandy did not pay attention to his reason. She did not beat around the bush and told him her purpose directly.

"I want to talk to you about our wedding," Mandy said, looking straight into his eyes.

"What's about the wedding?" Andrew's brows furrowed. He was wondering about what this spoiled brat was thinking this time.

"I just want to ask you if you have really decided to marry me. I mean, marrying someone you don't love is a very complicated thing." Mandy softened her expression. She would try to convince him to cancel their wedding and just marry another girl that he likes.

"What are you trying to say? You want me to cancel the wedding?" He was aware that Mandy does not want to get married from the beginning. He remembered her reaction when they informed her about the arranged marriage. That he later understood after Janeth Collins told him the reason.

Mandy was not able to react. She did not expect that Andrew would read what's on her mind.

'Is he a psychic or what?' She thought.

Andrew continued when Mandy did not respond. "I don't really care who I am going to marry. I just want to have a child soon. So, it's not a big deal for me. I hope the same applies to you."

Mandy's eyes dilated when she heard that Andrew wanted a child.

'Does it mean that I will bear his child?' She asked herself as her face turned crimson. Then, she realized that it was not a bad idea after all. She also wanted to have a child. So, it's a tie but still, she does not lose hope.

"How come you don't care? I'm sure you have a lot of women out there who wanted to bear your child. I mean you are rich and handsome. Who would not want to marry a man as perfect as you?" Mandy told him his good qualities hoping that he would also realize what she was trying to say.

Andrew felt delighted deep inside that Mandy was aware of those things. He unconsciously curled his lips upward but instantly faded as he said in a serious tone, "You're the only one, Amanda Collins."

Mandy almost threw out the juice she was drinking when she heard his answer. She gracefully wiped her mouth.

"I'm the only one but why do you still want to marry me? Why not one of those women who does not hesitate to marry you?" Mandy asked with a confused expression.

"Yes, there's a lot of women out there who want to be my woman and if our marriage did not work, I can easily divorce you. As to the one who will bear my child, I already chose you." Andrew announced with a half-smile.

Mandy took a deep breath. She thought that it was not easy to convince this man to cancel their marriage. Hence, she gave up the idea and accepted her fate.

"Alright, I will agree to marry you in one condition." It would be her last resort, to give him a condition.

"What condition?" Andrew arched his brow. He thought that this 20-year-old girl had the courage to give him a condition.

"If you fell in love with me or I fell in love with you, we will get a divorce," Mandy said while she crossed her legs.

It was a warning for Andrew not to fall in love with her and to not dare to make her fall for him. She would marry him but she does not want to have an intimate relationship with him.

Andrew realized that this girl really loves to play games. "Hmm. What if we both fell in love with each other?" He asked, trying to tease her.

"That's impossible." She smirked. She promised herself not to fall in love. She does not want to be hurt in the end like her mother.

"Are you sure?" He drew his face near her.

"Of course!" Mandy answered in a snap without blinking her eyes.

"Alright, deal!" Andrew smiled. He thought that this was going to be interesting.

Another month has passed. Mandy's wedding is just around the corner.

Charmaine Clarke, Mandy's best friend called her.

"Hello, Mandy? Please help me, I'm in trouble." Charmaine said while crying.

"Charm? What's the matter?" Mandy asked worriedly when she heard Charmaine was sobbing.

"I think I killed someone." Charm continued to sob.

"W-what? What happened?" Mandy was so shocked. She could not believe that her best friend was able to do that.

"I-I don't know, i-it happened so fast. I'll tell you when you get here. Mandy, please help me."

"Where are you?" Mandy asked.

"I'm in Dream Hotel room 920." Charm replied.

"Alright, I'm coming."

Mandy immediately took a cab. As she reached the hotel she took the elevator at once and went straight to the room mentioned by Charm.
