The Billionaire's Legal Wife

Author: : Author Rain
Genre: Billionaires
Due to her father's illness and mounting debts, Brianna was forced to work at her Uncle John's house as a maid, while her father took on the role of gardener to cover their hospital expenses. When her father suffered a second heart attack and required bypass surgery, she borrowed money from her uncle's wealthy wife, Daphne. However, Daphne demanded a different form of payment: She had to change her appearance and impersonate her cousin. This was because Hailey, Daphne's daughter, wanted to marry the billionaire Blake Miller and needed to maintain a facade of purity before the wedding. Blake had insisted on certain conditions before marriage, and since Hailey had been involved with many men, she feared Blake would refuse to marry her if he discovered she was not as innocent as she claimed. Brianna was helpless when one night, someone ruined her face, forcing her to undergo plastic surgery to look like her cousin, Hailey. Would she agree to sleep with the man her cousin was destined to marry? What if Blake proposed to her instead of his real girlfriend? Driven by thoughts of revenge for the harm done to her father, Brianna accepted Blake's proposal and married her cousin's fiancé.

Chapter 1 Getting Ready

Chapter 001

"The Millers are coming in a few minutes, and you're still not prepared?" John Parker yelled at his daughter Hailey, who was still painting her face in front of her vanity mirror. She was dressed in a dark blue fitted midi dress, and was exceptionally low cut, and did not leave much to the imagination.

Today, they were anticipating the arrival of Blake Miller, as well as his parents, so that they could discuss the preparations for their upcoming wedding. Hailey was making her best efforts to impress the handsome, wealthy man.

"Just a minute, dad..." Hailey rolled her eyes after the final touch of her lipstick. "I should look more gorgeous in front of Blake and his family."

"Make it quick! I want you to be standing in the doorway when Blake arrives!"He rasped, turning away, and was about to step out of his daughter's bedroom, when he almost bumped with Brianna. "What are you doing here? You should be in the kitchen, helping the maids! Where's your father? Has he replaced the flowers in the vases?"

Brianna was John's niece, and the daughter of his brother, Rob. She was working as a helper in her uncle's house, while her father was the one taking care of the lawn and flowers in the garden.

Their family had formerly resided in a rural community known as Genesee, which was located in the countryside. Their means of subsistence consisted of cultivating grapes and planting crops. On the other hand, when her Uncle John finally tied the knot with a wealthy woman, he relocated to Manhattan with his new wife, Daphne, and left his hometown and family with his daughter, Hailey.

One day, Brianna's father had a mild heart attack. He was able to survive, although he needed medication for maintenance. In the absence of any other options, Brianna was forced to make a request for assistance from her Uncle John.

"I'll pay for your father's medication, but you have to work for it!" That was Daphne's final decision, and Brianna had no choice but to accept it for the sake of her father's health.

"Uncle John..." Brianna's lips trembled as she spoke, brushing away the thought of the past. Tears started to well up in her big sapphire eyes. "Dad was brought to the hospital this morning. He--"

"What?" A tear had just escaped Brianna's eye as she shuddered in response to the stern voice of Daphne coming from the hallway. "Does it mean that you need money again?"

"Oh, honey. Don't worry about other people's problems. We'll talk about this matter later." John met his wife in the hallway, giving her a peck on the forehead. "Brianna, the Millers are coming today. We don't have time for your drama at the moment. Go and help the maids in the kitchen first!"

"But Uncle..."

"No more buts! You heard dad! Just go!" Hailey pushed her out of her room, a hint of disgust was seen on her face when she accidentally touched Brianna's skin.

Instead of getting mad, Brianna stared at her cousin in awe. She looked like a living barbie doll, and her make-up was done to perfection.

They shared the same dark brown locks, but Hailey's hair was swept to one side, looking so lovelier and had a far shinier appearance than hers. A short dress that stopped at her mid-thighs revealed her long, slender legs.

They were the best of friends when they were still living in the countryside. But when she got a taste and socialized with high-class people, she had forgotten about her cousin and best friend, Brianna.

"I said, go!" Hearing Hailey's angry voice again, Brianna's heart was shattered into a million pieces as she walked past them with her head hung low. Following her descent to the lower level, she assisted the maids with setting the dining table.

This morning, she heard about guests coming. It was the Miller family. She had heard about Blake Miller from Hailey and Daphne a few times, but she hadn't met him yet. She had high hopes that Hailey would alter her bad attitude once she married the man of her dreams.

When she told her dad about the visitors, she had already noticed that he wasn't feeling well, but he still had this smile on his face as he engaged in conversation with her.

"Sweetheart, I had a talk last night with your Uncle John about you going to school this year." Rob remarked as he gently stroked his daughter's hair, and tucked a lovely white daisy behind her ear. It had always been his goal for Brianna to complete her education and attend a reputable institution.

Brianna's eyes immediately lit up. "Really? What did Uncle John say, dad?"

Rob didn't want to break his daughter's heart, so he said, "He promised to enroll you and pay for your tuition at Manhattanville University."

"That's Hailey's school!" she squealed in happiness, flinging her arm around her father's waist. "Thank you, dad. At long last, I can continue my studies. Your dreams for me will finally come true!"

"Of course, baby. And I know that's your dream too." he kissed his daughter's hair and hugged her back, but suddenly winced when he felt the squeezing pain in his chest.

When Brianna walked back inside the house, the tremendous thud that she heard coming from behind her caused her to turn around and discover her father lying on the ground with his palm pressed on his chest.

"Dad!"She cried out, rushing back to her father. "Daddy, wake up!"

"Brianna, what happened?" Tom, the Parker's driver, helped her take her father to the hospital.

The doctor told Brianna that her father needed to have coronary artery bypass grafting as soon as possible if she wanted to save him. And the surgery would cost two hundred thousand dollars.

Her Uncle John was unaware of what had happened because they were busy preparing for the lunch that would take place later with the Miller family.

She went upstairs to tell her uncle about what happened to her dad, but it seemed that the meeting with the Millers was more important than his own brother.

John Parker never cared about them anyway. Only Rob was constantly worried about his younger brother. After the passing of John's wife, they provided financial assistance for them, and Rob even sent Hailey to high school. John didn't even bother to express gratitude to his older brother after everything that he had done for them. And now that he had a lot of money, it was so difficult to approach him and ask for assistance.

Chapter 2 The guests

Chapter 002

"Brianna..." She felt a warm hand on her shoulder, and she looked up to see Claire, one of the maids who worked in the house, and eventually became her close friend. "It's okay. Your dad will be okay."

She nodded, giving Claire a small smile, before she started working in the kitchen.

"Brianna!" Daphne's voice made her stop from scooping soup from the container. "Stay here in the kitchen. Don't you dare go out to the living room, and never ever show your face to the guests, understand?"

She furrowed her brows, struggling to comprehend the reason why the guests couldn't see her.

"Mom, let's go! They're here!" Hailey's excited voice boomed, her heels click-clacking on the floor as she dragged her mother back to the living room.

The doorbell chimed, a sign that the visitors had finally arrived.

"Good afternoon, Mr. And Mrs. Miller, and of course, Blake!" Brianna heard her uncle greet them warmly as she continued what she was doing before Daphne interrupted her earlier.

She was keeping her fingers crossed that the Miller family would leave soon so that she could talk to her uncle again about her father's surgery.

"You have a beautiful and lovely home!"A woman exclaimed, and Brianna believed that it was Blake's mother.

She couldn't help but feel curious about the visitors' looks, so she hid behind the wall and peeked through it. Her eyes brightened upon seeing the graceful woman with dark hair and warm emerald eyes hugging Hailey.

Everybody greeted each other warmly, kissing each other's cheeks. Hailey automatically drew towards a man, a handsome man to be exact, who was dressed in a dark blue suit. But the man seemed to be unaffected by her presence, which made Hailey pout her lips and roll her eyes. Her jaw dropped when she realized that it was Blake Miller.

"Is the soup ready?" Claire walked into the kitchen after bringing the main dish to the dining table, which caused Brianna to scurry back to the counter. "Please help me serve the wine, Brianna."

"I'm so sorry, Claire, but Aunt Daphne told me that I should stay here in the kitchen." she said, opening the kitchen cabinet, and took the wine glasses one by one. "I can't go out there. The visitors can't see me."

"What?" Claire sneered, stopping from lifting the bowl of soup. "What was her reason though?"

Brianna shrugged her shoulders. She was also clueless as to why she wasn't allowed to be seen by the visitors.

"You know what? Perhaps it's because Miss Hailey doesn't want Sir Blake to see you because you're prettier than her." Claire giggled. "He might change his mind in marrying Hailey."

Brianna smiled in response to what Claire was saying. When they were still living in the countryside, the neighborhood thought that they were twins. Not only was the color of their hair and eyes the same, they were also identical in terms of their physique and the color of their skin. Not to mention that they have the same birthdate.

But now that Hailey has a lot of money, she could buy everything she wanted, especially things that could pamper herself. She would go to the salon on a regular basis, which was the reason why her body and skin were well taken care of.

So there was no way that Blake Miller would like her.

"Don't say something like that, Claire. Hailey is pretty. Prettier than me."

A throat clearing suddenly caught their attention.

"Where's the wine? The visitors are already waiting!" Daphne's firm voice made them flinch. She shot her a glare when she noticed that she was holding the wine glasses. "Put those down. Didn't I tell you to stay here? Claire! Take charge! Make it quick!"

Brianna put the wine glasses down on the table and kept her head down, while Claire was collecting the glasses. She could feel a glare burning a hole in the side of her head.

When she heard them walking out of the kitchen, she breathed a sigh of relief and went to the restroom, which was located in the far corner of the kitchen.

Daphne never really liked her, and she had no idea what she did wrong for her to dislike her like that.

When she stepped out of the restroom, she spotted Hailey's fiancé standing in the middle of the kitchen, looking like he was struggling to find his way.

Blake was looking around the kitchen, searching for the restroom, when he noticed a pretty girl emerging from the small room in the left corner.

He froze as he stared at the beautiful girl in front of him. Her simple dress fitted so perfectly, highlighting every curve in the right places, which made him narrow his eyes in admiration. He didn't expect someone as beautiful as her to be working at the Parker's residence as a maid.

As soon as their gazes connected, Brianna's eyes widened. She glanced up at Blake in bewilderment. He couldn't see her. It was strictly forbidden for any visitor to see her.

She turned on her heels, and was about to step back inside the restroom when she heard Blake's voice.

"Excuse me, Miss." he called, making sure his voice sounded so deep and warm, the sort of voice he used whenever he was in bed with a woman as he walked closer to where she stood.

At a height of six feet and two inches, he easily towered over her, the well-tailored dark blue suit displaying his impressive appearance.

"Is that the restroom?" he asked.

"Uhm, yeah..." Brianna answered, stepping back to give way to the man.

"Thank you." She thought he would walk past her, but he stopped right in front of her, so close that she could smell his amazing aroma. His musk cologne infused her senses, mixed with his pure male scent with a hint of the smell of woods after rain. His warm minty breath fanned her forehead, making her almost squeeze her eyes shut.

She felt her breath catch as she found herself pinned under his deep grey gaze, so she quickly looked down, reluctant to look into that scorching gaze again.

As Blake stood in front of the woman, his lips curved into a smirk. He knew she was too shy to look straight into him, her gaze was fixed on the ground.

He couldn't help but feel amazed by her innocence and simple beauty. Her dark brown hair was tied up into a high ponytail, and he could see her gorgeous neck, her soft curls reaching down her back perfectly.

Her body was in perfect shape. And perfect for his bed. He controlled himself from pulling her by the small waist and caging her in his arms.

Her flawless skin seemed so soft and smooth, and her natural red lips looked so delicious.

He took a deep breath, thinking, 'I want her to become my maid, and f*ck her. I want to hear her sweet voice scream my name as I pleasure her. D*mn!'

But that was impossible to do now because he's now engaged to be married to Hailey, his current girlfriend. He had f*ck*d different women in the past, and now that he's tying a knot with her, everything is going to be different.

But he has one condition. He wanted a virgin wife. He wanted to experience how to make love to a woman who hasn't any experience yet. A clean woman deserved to become his wife.

And if Hailey failed to meet that requirement, then the wedding would be called off.

Chapter 3 The condition

Chapter 003

Brianna finally looked up at him, and he noticed that her sapphire ones seemed to have a hint of green, but they looked so sad and empty, locking them with his icy grey hues.

There was something about his eyes that captured Brianna as well, and lured her in. She felt a shiver run down her spine and strange sensations coursed through her veins, which caused her stomach to experience peculiar sensations.

He moved back away from the woman standing in front of her, and finally stepped inside the restroom with a meaningful smile.

Brianna was still stunned at her spot as she stared at the closed door of the restroom. She was disappointed by the loss of their connection, since she didn't expect that Hailey's fiancé was more handsome on a closer look. And he was quite possibly the most handsome man she'd ever seen in her life.

Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the familiar clicking of heels getting closer, so she wasted no time as she sprinted towards the backdoor and quickly pulled it open before she stepped out.

Nobody in the house should know that Blake had seen her.

"Blake!'' She heard Hailey's melodious voice--too different from the harsh voice she was using to her everytime, followed by her fist pounding on the restroom door.

Brianna's eyes widened as she pressed her back against the back door. Her heart hammered so fast against her palm, scared that Hailey might catch her.

"Blake, are you done?" Hailey asked, her voice sounded suspicious. "I'm sorry, I wasn't able to assist you. Your mom was talking to me, and I didn't notice you leaving the dining room."

"It's okay. I'm done anyway." he answered, looking around for the beautiful woman earlier.

Blake frowned when he realized that the woman and Hailey slightly resembled each other. The color of their hair, the eyes, the body...

'Uh! But that woman is a far way prettier, and she looked so innocent in everything. And sexier too.' he thought.

They could be sisters.

But there was no way that the Parker family wouldn't let a relative join the lunch. If she was Hailey's sister, she would be at the dining table, eating lunch with them.

"Is there any problem, Blake?" Hailey hooked her arm around his, purposely rubbing her breast against him, which made the muscle in his jaw clench. His face hardened, looking at her with a frown as she started flirting with him. "Are you looking for someone?"

Hailey's eyes became sharp when she realized that Blake might've seen Brianna. Her fiancé couldn't see her! She had enough of her stealing the heart of every man she loved.

She remembered the first time she brought her first boyfriend into their house. He couldn't stop looking at her cousin.

And that same day, he broke up with her. His reason? He didn't love her enough to stay in their five-year relationship.

Hailey's second boyfriend saw Brianna too. She caught him talking with her in the garden, and even heard him getting her phone number.

After that incident, she never brought any of her boyfriends, or any of her flings into the house anymore, and would only meet them outside, or did one-night stands in a hotel.

And now that she was about to marry Blake, the man of her dreams, she couldn't let her steal him this time!

"Uh, I just want to thank your maid for assisting me here earlier." Blake's answer made Hailey smile. He saw a maid, not Brianna.

"Don't bother, babe. That's their job. Let's go." She dragged him back to the dining room with a flirtatious smile.

"Hailey, honey. We were discussing the possibility of you working for Blake's company once you graduate from college. What do you think of that?" Mrs. Miller asked, and Daphne almost choked on her wine.

Her stepdaughter was as dumb as a rock. She never wanted to work.

"My daughter has already started investing, and she's currently producing a fair amount of money. I don't think she would be comfortable working with her soon-to-be husband." John stated, sipping his wine as he gave Hailey a sideways glare. "It would be better for her to stay at home and take care of her husband's needs. Right, sweetheart?"

"Yes, daddy!" Hailey answered, her eyes glancing back and forth in nervousness.

"Wow! I'm impressed! At a very young age, she knows how to invest. You must be very proud of her." Mr. Miller said, smiling at Hailey, watching her take a seat next to her stepmother after Blake pulled the chair for her.

"Yes, of course!" John exclaimed. "Hailey is not only beautiful, but the smartest woman I've known. She's the best daughter a father could ask for."

Daphne smiled meaningfully in response to her husband's comment.

Daphne met John through a friend. He was a widow, and was living with his brother and daughter in the countryside. When the man she liked rejected her, she focused her attention on John.

They dated for a few weeks, until he introduced her to his daughter. In spite of the fact that she had reservations about whether she would accept Hailey as her daughter, she nevertheless accepted her as her own.

At first, it was a little bit awkward for both of them, but when Daphne gave Hailey everything she wanted, she accepted her as a mother wholeheartedly.

The lunch ended without any final details because Blake was called by his personal assistant on the phone, telling him that there was an emergency meeting at the office.

"I'll just call Hailey to talk about our wedding. It was such a pleasure meeting you all." Those were Blake's last words before he stood up from the table and left Parker's residence.

"Dad! What should I do now?" Hailey screeched, her teary-eyes widened in fear. "Blake wants a virgin wife!"

After the Miller family left, Hailey received a text message from Blake. The content of the message was, 'I'll notify you if I'm not busy. I want you to come to my penthouse so that we can talk about the preparation for the wedding. I also want to make sure that I'm your first. I want a virgin wife.'

"Dad, he--" Hailey was cut off by a hard slap coming from her father, causing her to fall backwards onto the sofa. Tears instantly fell from her eyes because of the stinging pain caused by the strong palm that struck her face. She tried to alleviate the discomfort she felt by pressing her warm palm on her cheek.

"John, stop!" Daphne stepped in, blocking her husband when he tried to hit Hailey again. "Why did you hit your daughter? What did she even do?"

"Back off!" Instead of responding to his wife, he pushed her out of his way and kicked Hailey in the stomach. His nostrils flared in rage.

"Dad, stop!" Hailey screamed, confused as to why her father was beating her for the very first time. She curled into a ball, clutching her stomach. "Why did I do? Why are you punishing me?"

"You're a b*tch, that's why?!" John exclaimed, pacing back and forth in the living room angrily. "You're such a sl*t for having s*x with different men! Now you're about to lose the opportunity of marrying the most influential man in the country! Why did God give me a daughter like you?"

"Dad, I... I don't know why he wants a virgin wife. You know... you know that it's impossible for him to find one, right." she stuttered in fear, but started crawling towards her father and kneeled in front of him while clutching the hem of his slacks, sobbing. "Dad, he... he will never know that I'm not a virgin anymore. Believe me, I will do anything..."

"Shut up!" John kicked her once more, making her groan and wince in pain. "Shut the f*ck up, Hailey! I don't want to hear anything from you. You always cause trouble and I hate you for that! B*tch!"

"Dad, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry..." Hailey sobbed loudly, hugging her father's leg.

"Sweetheart, don't hurt our daughter. You know she's just enjoying her life." Daphne tried to defend Hailey, but only resulted in John shooting her an angry glare. "Don't worry. We can find a way to settle this. I can find a way, trust me. Just spare your daughter."
