A little boy clung hands with a woman as they strolled to the amusement park then he suddenly stopped. The woman halts to detect the reason they were stopping and discovered he was immersed in staring at a child playing with his mother and frowned.
" Quinn, what's the matter? " The little boy's gaze didn't waver as it lingered on them a little longer then yanked her hands off him and walked away.
Cynthia gritted her teeth then chased after him knowing his importance in Alvin's life " Quinn!!" She kept calling which had him on his heels running off but didn't go far after all he was just a kid.
" Got yah" she boomed then grabbed him , passing him hard glare.
" I want to go home to my Dad" he demanded yanking her hands off him.
" Your dad is on his way. Be a good boy and behave" she said impatiently.
Quinn sighed looking into the distance and noticed a silhouette of a man exiting the car who looked like Colton. He looked further and smiled realizing it was him as he opened the car door for his dad.
His eyes lit up as he saw his father Stepped down from the car in a grey suit and ran to him leaving Cynthia in shock which turned to a wide grin as she saw the gorgeous man in front of her. Alvin bent down to pick him up and smiled rearranging his expensive suit.
" How is my boy doing?" He scoffed then rest his head on his shoulder and replied.
" Bored. It's good you're here now" he said as fluently as he could to make sure he hears him as he wasn't that fluent in speaking yet.
" That's not true. The playground is this way" Cynthia announced catching her breath then reached for him but he held his Dad tightly.
" Let's go son" he chuckled striding ahead of her.
Quinn's eyes lingered on the crowd as most kids were with their mom. None knew Cynthia wasn't his mother except them. Alvin noticed his lingering eyes and frowned crouching by his side.
" Wanna take a ride?" He asked as Quinn nods " c'mon boy I got you"
" Dad?" He called as Alvin veered around to hear him out.
" Did mom really leave?" He furrowed his brows but replied nevertheless.
" Yes, son. I told you not to mention her" his eyes fell. His heart still breaks whenever he thinks of her betrayal.
" I'm sorry Dad" Alvin sighed, picked him up then took him to an ice cream stand.
It has been almost four years since Kate left. He couldn't move on though he kept deceiving himself that he has but life goes on as he focused his attention on Quinn. Knowing his son needed a mother figure, Cynthia had volunteered to help out hoping to rekindle their love but again she had a rival Naomi: who had a better relationship with Quinn than she does.

The managers and staff of Simon resort amassed in the compound to welcome the CEO. A lady in a white bodycon jumpsuit stepped out of the car with black curly short hair in six inches stiletto heels. Everyone gave their best smiles which she didn't acknowledge.
" Welcome Miss Patterson," the manager said, as a matter of fact, she just hummed and strode in.
You can't blame her she has been through hell in the same city. The memory of her last encounter there had her in duress. No, she wasn't happy to be back though she had a motive, to make her husband Alvin Reagan pay and divorce him. She hated the fact that she was still his wife after three years. It'll be a turbulent ride in getting a divorce but she was determined to have it. That damned bastard.
The door to the event hall was pushed open revealing an exclusive decorations with over a thousand seats and tables. She walked around the hall in satisfaction.
" I want to plan the event myself and I'll like to see the chefs in person"she told the hotel manager with a serious tone.
" Yes ,Miss Patterson" The manager replied as she was told to be called. So, everyone addressed her so.
" Let's go the main hotel. There's much to find out" the manager stated directing her to the exit with his right hand outstretched.
After returning from the long tour, she met a bouquet in her office desk and creased her brows then picked the telephone to call for the manager.
" Do you like it?" Came David's solemn voice as her eyes darted to him knowingly. It was nothing new but she thought he had given up. She had made herself clear that she wasn't in the market.
" David, hi. I wasn't expecting you" she spoke dropping the telephone then took a seat.
" I figure you would be lonely and devastated after what happened four years ago. So, I came to take you to dinner" she hummed folding her hands.
" I'm fine on the contrary. I'll leave soon. I'm sure he'll be glad to grant me a divorce. You don't have to worry about it. He must hate me more than he did years ago" she said bitterly which amazed David who narrowed his eyes wondering what was going through her head.
" I don't think you understand Alvin Reagan isn't someone you can contend with alone. You need me" he retorted getting agitated at her.
" We've talked about this and I made myself clear when I said I don't need your help with Alvin. My battle with him is personal. He owes me a son. My son's life. So let me deal with it. You better return to the state if that's why you're here?" She said emotionlessly swiping through her phone.
" Yes and no. You know I care about you. I'm here because I have got a contract to sign. All thanks to you" Kate waved him off surfing the latest news about Alvin Reagan. That's what she has been doing for the past four years tailing him and to think he was losing everything while Cynthia resolved them had her. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry but she knew she wasn't happy until he returns to the scrub penniless for killing her innocent son.
A son he deliberately brought into this world then ordered for his death like he was the dictator of life. She wasn't going to rest until he pays for it.
" Congratulations. You're among the top ten richest men in the world unlike poor Alvin" David raised his brows waiting for her to announce his position in the ranking.
" Well, well, aren't you the curious one" Kate stated. She didn't care if David was using her to get to Alvin's partners but she was glad to do it as long as it'll hurt him like she has been hurting for years.
" He came seventh. I guess you have to up your game. Cynthia is getting to you. Just imagine when Alvin gets on his feet" Kate taunts scribbling something on her iPad.
" What number am I? For God's sake Kate, go out with me. Let's spread some rumors that could work. We agreed to make him pay for hurting you remember?" He coaxed.Kate looked at him sternly and leaned on her palms. Pretending to date David Wilson wasn't something she wanted. She wasn't concerned about her dignity but it just wasn't her so she shrugged.
" Or I can deal with Cynthia for you. I know I'm a resort owner with the cooking stuff but she's damn interested in my hotels. Man, I'll be glad to handle her" David was immersed in staring at her plump lips, mesmerizing face, and her sexy collar bone. He had other ideas. Kate Patterson was a woman to die for it's a pity, he wanted both.
" Or you get to meet him. I'm sure you'll knock his senses out. Let's see if his feelings are real?" Kate was lost at the part where he mentioned her meeting him.
" I'm not going to show myself to him to please you. I want to do so on my terms. I prefer the element of surprise" David nods in agreement. Whatever rides her boat.
" Yes ma'am. Now, shall we? I'll love to have dinner with you. Not here" Kate's eyes lingered on his cute face then her iPad and nods.
" Why not? I've had a hectic day" David helped with her bag pointing to the door.
" After you" she rolled her eyes at him and took a step forward.
" You know I don't like surprises right? "
" It's not a surprise. I just want to do something good for my woman" he joked but she didn't take it likely as she halts to face him which made him pause , wishing he never said anything.
" Alright, I know. It wouldn't kill you if you are"
" I'm a married woman David. It doesn't matter if I love him or not. I'm still his goddamn wife. So I'll appreciate it if you'll stop making irrelevant advances at me. You and I are too different" she retorted. She doesn't love Alvin but she wasn't going to be a slut to get back at him.
" But you fell for that two-faced punk" he stated.
" At least he did something to earn it while you on the other hand just want some benefit from rendering help to people like me. Just imagine how wealthy you've become since Alvin ghost out of business. You're among the top ten for goodness sake with my help. Good night David. I've lost my appetite" she uttered walking out on him while David stared at her and frowned wondering how Alvin won her heart in the first place.
She slammed the car door angrily wiping her face in the process then drove off. Life has been hell for her since day one. The memories of losing a son had rendered her depressed and angry but she wasn't that damaged to fall for David's advances. She was done letting men dictate her life. Agitated, she stepped on the brake pedal driving faster then passed Alvin's car on the way thus Colt and Alvin looked at each other in shock.
" Tell me you saw her?" Alvin confirmed as Colt nods . They would recognize her anywhere.
" Maybe we were hallucinating. We've searched everywhere for her but found nothing. I don't think it's her Sir" Colt replied.
" Keep driving. I don't care about that bitch. I just want to know if I was seeing things" Alvin replied leaning back on the seat flatly.
" Tell Lisa to take Quinn to my mother's. I'm not ready to take chances" he spoke recalling she can't hide forever. There were possibilities for her return and that's for a divorce: something he'll gladly accept.
" Yes sir," Colt said putting Lisa on the phone to relay the message.
Spontaneously, Cynthia dropped a pile of documents on Alvin's desk with a gloomy face.
" Have you seen the papers?" Alvin's eyes darted to the documents on the desk and pushed it closer to himself to take a look at it then closed it.
" So?" He bellowed typing on his computer.
" We've lost most of our contractors to the Wilson industries. When will you learn?" He met her eyes with no emotion .
" It's not the first time it's happening. I'm not bothered by it " he said flatly not bothered by it then she took out a newspaper and dropped it roughly on his desk.
"Maybe this might help" his eyes dilated the moment he saw it.
" Where did you find this?" He snapped holding tightly to it.
" He's back for your information. It's time you take this seriously cos I've done all that I could. It's up to you" Alvin crushed the paper into a ball.
Then he recalled seeing Kate days ago. If David was back, it simply means she has. His heart quickened thus he managed to calm down. What are the chances that she might show at his doorstep even though he had move out.
" I will take care of it. You have to attend the meeting this time. I'm going to see my son" Cynthia frowned. She was ready to do anything for him yet he doesn't appreciate her.
" Fine. Alvin, have you thought about us? It's time you move on. That bitch isn't coming back. I'm ready to take Quinn as my son. You know I would" Alvin leaned on the chair with lingering eyes on her.
" Don't tell me it's because of Naomi? She's a nobody. A friend to the woman that broke your heart. Do you seriously prefer her to me? I work hard every day to make sure you don't lose your wealth. Something you've worked hard for" Alvin sighed while his eyes softened.
" I didn't say that. I told you that I don't need anyone for my son. Should I need one, Quinn will have to choose and if Naomi is who he chose then so be it" he spoke relentlessly.
" She'll become his mother, not my wife. I don't need a wife Cynthia" he finished as she hummed.
" Okay. What are you going to do about David?" She asked letting go of the topic.
" Get started. If David is back it means my so-called wife is as well. She's here for the divorce. It's time we settle our differences" Cynthia's face fell realizing she stand no chance should Alvin rekindle his relationship with Kate.
" Kate? As in Kate Patterson, your ex-wife?"Alvin hummed standing up to leave.
" She's back? " She asked herself rather than him.
" After four years? What does she want?" He narrowed his eyes at her.
" Divorce. She's still my wife nevertheless. I guess she is tired of whoring around with David. She finally has the guts to face me. That whore" he cause with pain and anguish reflecting in his eyes.
" Hmm. you'll divorce her, right? You feel nothing for her right?" She murmured locking her gaze with him.
" Cynthia, Kate is a mistake I don't want to talk about. Loving her was a terrible mistake. I don't want to talk about her ever again. She's history. Quinn keeps me going" he replied curtly. For some reason talking about her was getting on his nerves.
" Fine. I'll hold you to your words" she shrugged taking his seat.
" I'm expecting the details of your meeting" she frowned watching him leave.
Kate stood by the balcony with a glass on her hands peering into the bustling city and sighed wondering what her life would have become had she ran away with Dante then looked down in grief muttering his name: Dante, someone that sacrificed his life for her. A man that loved her with every fiber in his body. A man that saved a baby he didn't beget. A selfless man.
She gulped the whole bottle with the memories of her dead son and whimpered. With Simon's death, Dante died for nothing. His sacrifice was in vain because of Alvin Reagan. He ruined her life especially Dante's. She couldn't help but think her revenge was meaningless if he was to live.
How can one kill an innocent baby? His child? She had tried to imagine it.
Yes, she ran away from him, yes she cheated but why did her son have to pay for it? An innocent soul. She groaned clenching her fist. She will not rest until Alvin Reagan pays for everything. Whatever David wanted, she will grant it as long as it she gets back at Alvin.
He must pay.
