Narrator Pov

Aurora, came out of her room all dressed up to leave for her mini job, her grandmother was seated on the wooden chair taking a nap.

"Grandma, am leaving, please look after yourself till I get back". She said.

" Sure, try and be careful," She said and blessed her.

"Thank you, Grandma". She kissed her forehead and rushed out to where her tricycle was leaning on the big tree in front of the building she hopped on it and rode it off.

Aurora rode on the tricycle to deliver packages to people's houses every weekend and the rest days were for going to people's houses and offices for cleaning along with her teammate.

She arrived at the first house and delivered her package to her and she was given a tip.

" That's for you". She said smiling at her.

"Thank you, am grateful". Aurora said thankfully.

" You are welcome".

"I will be on my way now".

"OK, have a blessed day".

" And you too". Aurora said as she hopped on her tricycle and rode off.

Many hours later, it was getting late, Aurora was riding so fast on her tricycle, that she was overwhelmed with joy by the many tips she got from her customers day, although some were mean and flirtatious, but, she didn't let that wear her down because she was used to it already. She continued driving on the road enjoying the cool breeze, suddenly, a car light flashed in her eyes, and she lost control of her ride and there was a clash.

••AURORA POV••

I was lucky enough not to be hit by a car, whose driver in his or her right sense would drive carelessly on the road like that, I stood up and moved to where my tricycle was laying in front of the car.

"Are you blind?".

A deep muscular voice interrupted me, there was so much anger in the voice, that I raised my face to see an astonished gorgeous man In his expensive suit and it suited him so well and it doubled his handsomes. The man was tall, he had silver eyes as the light from the street reflected on him and I could take a proper view of him, his eyes were staring deadly at me, and he had a well-pointed nose and well-defined jaw that added his powerful look and his hair were brownish gold color.

" Cat got your tongue and please close your mouth".

He interrupted me again, I hurriedly went back to my senses. I didn't even know I was drooling and salivating over his cuteness and his domineering aura seemed to scream command, I wondered who he could be that his presence can make a woman wet between her legs

"Um".I manage to say as I stand up facing him while holding my tricycle.

" You scratched my car, did you drink? or has the night suddenly clouded your eyes so that you can not see". He said rudely.

"That was rude!". I blurted. " You were the one driving recklessly and you almost hit me, you should be apologizing and not shifting blame".

"I should apologize for wrecking my car, do you know who you are messing with?". He retort

I scoffed."like I care, you are being annoyed, Just because you are rich and own expensive cars doesn't mean you can speak rudely to me, I didn't wreck your car, you crush on me, and you should be apologizing". I turn to leave but he grabs my hand quickly."let go of me". I struggled.

"How dare you speak to me like that!". he yelled staring hard at me.

" Let go of me". I struggled and stumbled on his feet, he groaned in pain and freed my hand."Serve you right". I quickly hopped on my tricycle and rode off before he could get through to me again.

"I will get on this". he yelled

That was the last word I heard from him before I disappeared from his sight. Some minutes later I was home, Grandma was worried about the late arrival.

" Am sorry granny, it was a busy day".

"But I was worried, I thought something bad had happened to you". She said sadly.

"Am sorry for making you worried, I promise it won't happen again". I apologize and embrace her on the chair she sitting on."I will hurry and make us dinner,".

" I already prepared dinner".

"You did? But granny! Didn't I tell you to stop stressing yourself about touching anything in this house, what if you fall sick again?".

" But I am fine now".She said

"Please Grandma, don't, I will do it myself, I don't want you to stress yourself now that you are recovering". I said and Grandma nodded her head in agreement." Good, let me dish the food".

"Okay, how was work today?"

"Great, granny, I got a lot of tips from my customers today". I smile.

"That's good dear, keep it up".

" Thank you, Granny". I left for the kitchen to eat our dinner.

ALEXANDER POV

After my encounter with that girl last night, I couldn't help but get angry for what she did to me, how dare she talk back at me, does she know who I am? I promise I will get her on this. I came to the club to ease my anger with some drinks and some girls, I was seated in the usual VIP section with ladies dancing seductively towards me, I kept drinking as the memory of that night kept ringing in my head, I couldn't get a proper view of her figure but with her sweet angelic voice and her face, her eyes are almond-shaped and blue, with dark eyelashes, and it spark brighter like a morning star, she has a wide, round face with a pointed chin gave a better epic of beauty, her nose is short and a little turned up at the end. She has thick, naturally curly hair that hangs a little bit below her shoulders. It's dark brown with a few caramel-colored highlights. her heart-shaped pink lips were inviting. I can't help but want to hear that voice again. I was still lost in thought when someone interrupted me.

"Alexander the ladies man". The voice teased and I raised my face to see who it was, my one and only annoying best friend, Richard.

Richard and I have been best of friends since childhood, we do things together and we never hide secrets from each other, his father owns the biggest business ventures in the city, and is the first son among his three siblings, his father made him the CEO of his company, he had been doing perfectly okay with the company which made his family proud of him. But sometimes he annoys me, but what can I do, he has always been like that.

" What are you doing here Richard?".I asked after I dismissed the ladies.

"Come on bro, you are not the only one having fun " He poured himself some drink." So, what's eating you up? You look moody tonight, did someone upset you?".He asked.

"I". I pause my words as I notice a familiar face walk to where the barman was attending to some customer and she landed a kiss on his cheek as they kept smiling lovingly at each other.

" What are you staring at?".Richard asked.

I ignored him as my gaze was still on the girl I had an encounter with last night, I suddenly got a better view of her body. She was of average height with a perfectly curved body. She was wearing a bright red, knee-length summer dress, and blue canvas shoes, despite being in that outfit her beauty was out of the world, I couldn't help but suddenly felt drawn to her, "f*ck! I need to get hold of that body. Suddenly, I felt a hit on my head.

" Ouch! What the hell man!". I yelled at him and he scoffed.

"Get your head straight up and stop drooling over a girl that's not your type". He said and I rolled my eyes at him angrily.

It occurred to me that he had been observing me all this while.

" What are you talking about? You think I can't get her?".

"Not every girl you can get to their pants, you see that girl you are drooling over, she is taken and that barman happens to be her boyfriend". he said.

I scoffed." And so, with money, I can get her". I boosted as I took a sip from my drink.

"You think so?". he chuckled." listen, I was once attracted to her, but then I found out she and that guy had been dating for four years now and they love each other so much that nothing can separate them".

"I". I paused my words as heard two advanced men from the other VIP section talking about the same girl

👴" That girl looks hot and tempting, I need her for a night, look at the way she swings her body"

🧔"Indeed she is, I also like her, but since you got eyes on her first, we can both share her for a night".

👴"Hmm, that's quite interesting, I will love that, but I think that Barman is her boyfriend".

🧔"And so, we can pay him a huge amount of money that will change his life and he will have no choice but to accept". They laughed evilly.

👴"Let's take our chances then, I can't wait to get my hands on that body".

🧔" Me too".

One of them sends one of their guards to send for the barman, not too long after, the barman comes over and they offer him a sit.

👴"What's your name, young man?"

"Charles". he replied.

🧔" Nice name, can I ask you a question?"

"Yes sir, is there a problem?".

👴" No, not at all, in short, we are going to make you a millionaire for being such a hard-working boy".

"Really?". he asked excitedly.

🧔" Yes, we will give you a million dollars if only you agree to what we want ".

" Yes sir, I will do anything you want me to do, I have always wanted to live a rich life and to get my story changed, thank heavens, you two came".

👴"Sure, but first of all the question we want to ask you is; who was that girl with you earlier?".

"Oh, that's my girlfriend, she came to see me".

"Yes sir"

Charles was shocked as he adjusted himself well on the sofa.

👴" In exchange for the money".

"What? I can't do that?".

👴" Why not Charles, we know she is your girlfriend but think about what a million dollars can do for you".

🧔"Exactly! She can also get access to the money without her knowing how".

"I can't do that sir, she is my girlfriend and I don't want to betray our love for each other".

🧔" Don't be such a lover boy, I guess she doesn't love you that much, a night will change your life, remember she can also benefit from it too".

👴"You are not doing anything bad, a beautiful girl like that needs a man who can take care of her needs, and I guess you are not the right man for that, we know she is only being with because she hasn't come across a man that can sweep her off her feet, think about it".

"But how can I do it, she will never agree".

👴 " You don't need to tell her, we can give you something to add to her drink and she won't remember what happened to her the next day".

Charles was deep in thought pondering on whether to agree to it or not.

"Promise me you won't hurt her?".

" Okay, I will do it, but can I get half of the payment first?".

👴🧔"Sure"

They brought a bundle of dollars and gave it to him, he was pleased as he placed the money in his pocket.

👴"You will get the remaining one once the job is done, here are our cards and the drugs to add to her drink".

I sighed after listening to their evil conversation.

"Well, serve her right, she is getting the taste of her own medicine for insulting me, Karma they say always has its way". I smirk and notice Richard's confused gaze on me." What?".

"Alex! Are you going crazy? Why are you talking to yourself? Do you want me to take you to the hospital so they can run a brain scan on you". He said and I stared hard at him, then he burst into laughter.

" Moron". I take another sip from my drink as I catch sight of the guy talking to the girl.

"How many women are you taking out tonight?". Richard interrupted.

" Two, including your sister".I frowned at him and he laughed.

"You are so funny". He continued laughing and I ignored him while sipping from my drink.

AURORA POV

I wondered why my boyfriend was taking so long attending to the people who sent for him, after a while he came back wearing a sweet smile on his face and he apologized for keeping me waiting, I tried asking him why the smiling faces, but he replied that it's a surprise. An hour later, I was still waiting for him to round up from his work so we could both go home together, the bar was fewer with few people as he began to close up.

" I am sorry for keeping you waiting". Charles apologized and I smiled faintly at him.

"it's okay babe, I totally understand". I replied smiling at him.

" Sure, hold on let me get you something to drink to why away time". He said and I smiled at him.

"Okay, but let me use the restroom". I stood up to leave.

"Okay love, don't take too long".

" I won't ".I left for the restroom, and after using the toilet for a while, I came out to dress my hair in front of the mirror, and then I went back to the bar to see Charles had already served my drink on the table." Thanks babe". I took a sip from the drink and he smiled at me and continued his work.

I couldn't help but find myself staring lovingly at him. Charles and I have known each other for four years now and we love each other so much, he has always been a helping hand to me and my grandmother and, he has always been the perfect man for me, I have prayed and wished things turn out for good for the both of us and to make our relationship stronger.

After a while, I started yawning and feeling dizzy.

"Love, are you okay?". Charles asked and I nodded.

" I guess so".

"Are you sure?".

" I am feeling sleepy".

"How about I take you to one of the rooms to take a nap before I round up everything here".

" Okay, no problem".

He took me to one of the rooms and lay me down gently on the bed, not too long after I slept off.

ALEXANDER POV

I got to my car and asked the driver to drive off, along the way, I was feeling restless about the conversation I heard from those two men in the bar.

"Why should you care about what is going to happen to her, just focus and forget about her and let her face her problem". I sighed tiredly and pondered for a while." Turn the car around, we are heading back to the bar". I said to my driver.

"Okay, sir" He made a U-turn and we arrived at the bar.

I hesitated for a while before I stepped out of my car and went inside with two of my escorts, the whole place was calm and I saw the barman arranging the place, immediately he caught sight of us, and he rushed towards us.

"Good evening sir, we are close already". he said politely.

I stare angrily at him and order my men to handle him, I walk away and I can hear the sound of beating and the boy begging for mercy and trying to ask what he has done wrong. I came to the corridor and I saw two guys in black suits guarding a door, my instincts suddenly told me that was the room the girl was in, I walked up to them and knocked them to consciousness before they could retaliate.

I hit the door hard and barged into the room to see the two men half-naked and the lady was still unconscious on the bed with her clothes untouched, I clenched my fist.

" Who are you?" the old man asked curiously and I could sense fear in their faces.

"Alexander!". I replied and my men came over." Take these two old fools away and give them the punishment they both deserve". I ordered and the two old men were dragged away, they begged for forgiveness while my men were dragging them along.

I stare concerned at the young lady on the bed.

"You got lucky today, you owe me for this and you are going to pay me back, I can't believe your boyfriend tried to sell you out because of money". I sighed and then covered her with the blanket, I turned off the light, I shut the door behind me, and left, I came to the bar to see the guy beaten to a pulp and on the ground consciously, I stared at him for a while and walk away.

NARRATOR POV

The next morning, a group of people gathered two men tied on a pole with their pants on, and a note tag was pasted on their body saying; "we got punished for trying to abuse a girl". Everyone was taking photos of them and uploading them on air, soon the media came making a video of them after recognizing who they were, soon, the men regained consciousness and was surprised at where they at, they were trying to cover their face.

Meanwhile, Aurora wakes up and stares around the room strangely.

" Where am I?".She questioned confusedly and the memory of last night flashed through her head "Oh no, Charles must have left me here". She rushed out quickly to the bar to see Charles's lifeless body on the ground." Charles!". She screamed and rushed to him trying to wake him up, soon few of the workers came in and they helped her rush Charles to the nearest hospital.

~~HOSPITAL~~

After an hour of commencing treatment on Charles, the doctor told Aurora not to worry about her boyfriend and that he would be fine. She sat next to him on the bed caressing his hand, and then Charles opened his eyes weakly and turned to her smiling.

"Aurora". He called weakly and Aurora raised her face to him to see him awake.

" Charles". She called excitedly and hugged him on the bed sobbing."You are awake, I was scared to death". She pulled away from him and he caressed her face.

"Am sorry I made you worry". He said.

" What happened? you attack last night?".

"Yes, I was about to close up the bar when three men walked in and attacked me unknowingly".

" What? How could people be so heartless, did they steal anything?".

"I don't think so and I hope not".

" Oh thank heaven you are safe, I don't know what I would do without you". She rested her face on his body sobbing.

"Stop crying, nothing happened, but are you okay?". He asked curiously.

" Yes, I didn't know I slept off, I could have saved you from those heartless men". She sniffed and Charles sighed and continued caressing her hair.

AURORA POV

After Charles was discharged from the hospital, I took him home and made sure he was comfortable before I left him with his mother, I was still confused about the whole thing that happened. I got home and saw the sad and worried look on my grandmother's face.

"Aurora, do you want to kill me before my dying day?". She asked and I rushed to hug her.

" Grandma, am so sorry, a lot of things happened last night that I could not explain". I said and pulled away from her and then wiped off her tears with my thumb.

"What happened?".

" Some men attacked Charles last night, it was this morning I discovered him on the floor that I had to rush him to the hospital".I explained and I could see the surprised look on her face.

"Is he okay?".

" Yes, he is fine now".

"Oh, that is a relief".

" Have you had anything to eat?".

"Yes, I made myself some food, yours is in the kitchen".

" Thank you, Grandma". I kissed her cheek and turned to leave for the kitchen when my cell phone rang, I stared at the caller ID and noticed it was one of my teammates in the cleaning job."Hello Jane". I said as I answered the call and Jane's voice came from the other end of the phone.

"Aurora, what happened to your phone? I have been trying to reach you since last night?".

" Am sorry, something came up, is there a problem?". I asked.

"Not really, I was calling to inform you that we have a cleaning job to do today, the manager assigned me and some other teams, but I added your name too".

" Oh really, thank you, where are we going for the cleaning job?". I asked excitedly.

"Beverly Hills district ".

I gasped for air, Beverly Hills resort is a place for the billionaire.

" Are you kidding me?".

"Yes, get ready, we will pick you up in five minutes". She hung up and jumped up in excitement.

" You are going out?"

"Yes grandma, duty called, I have to get ready".

" What about your food?".

"That can wait, I knew today was going to be the best day of my life". I said excitedly and rushed to my room to get dressed.

" At least take a bite". She cried out.

An hour later, we arrived at the Beverly Hills district, we came across beautiful mansions and I couldn't help but gasp for air until we arrived at a sophisticated building, the gate was opened with a remote control and we drove inside, we rushed down with our cleaning items and we were taken inside by the security man who shown us around every corner of the house, I couldn't help but stare amazingly at the magnificent mansion.

To the outside viewer, the mansion would have seemed identical to any other in the prestigious neighborhood. Large curtained windows set in solid concrete walls and burnt red tiles on the roof. Stone statues guarding the entrance, a freshly trimmed lawn, flowering bushes, and sunlight reflecting off the surface of a pool on a typical warm summer day.

A well-kept gravel path led to automatic double doors. Inside, rested proudly several brand-new sumptuous vehicles. A desolate bicycle leaned groaning against the mucky wall. A rusty toolbox screeched bearing the weight of various gardening instruments.

In numerous rooms, was stored dejected non-matching furniture. Cardboard boxes were stacked high against the ceiling and the content of the few that had been unpacked was dispersed throughout the room. The heavy dusty air dimmed the area.

The kitchen was equipped with all sorts of unused cooking utensils and the wooden drawers were filled with all the latest gadgets. In the bathroom, every surface was filled with half-used products ranging from shampoos to creams to toothpaste.

In the master bedroom, the bed was covered in fluffy pillows on top of embroidered covers, doughy blankets, and crumpled bedsheets. A wardrobe overflowing with abandoned clothing stood unhappily in its dark corner. The additional lacerated shoe storage was too small to contain every pair despairingly scattered on the floor.

A colossal couch occupied the living room along with the most recent TV released.

In as much as the building was beautifully decorated with an exclusive interior, but the place was still messy.

"Why is the inside so messy?". Jane asked.

" I don't know, that's why we are here to clean it up". I said.

"Rich people and their dirty habit". Another teammate said.

We were shared in different places, I was given the master bedroom to clean up, I can't lie, the bedroom was wow, cozy. I started by arranging the suit in the wardrobe and then the shoes in the right place.

Some minutes later, I was done arranging the room and it became perfect and I fell in love with it, but something was missing, the clothes and the shoes and even the bathroom were that of a man a things not even a single lady things in there.

" Is this guy a bachelor?". I questioned confusedly as I continued to stare around the room, suddenly my eyes caught sight of a photo hanging up the wall beside the bed, I walked closer and took a better look at the person on the photo. I froze and gasped in shock to see who it was, my memory flashed back to the night I had an encounter with him, I reeled backward and pumped into something and a vessel fell on the floor and broke into pieces.

Suddenly, someone barged into the room and I came across facing him, I could see the shock in his eyes.

"You!". He yelled and his voice was like a roaring lion, I froze.

" I-i ".I sputtered, I couldn't find my words, and I ran out quickly with my cleaning items to meet my teammates in the living room.

" What happened? Did you break anything? Cause we heard noises and the owner of the building happened to arrive at the wrong time?". Jane asked and I nodded."Oh no, what do we do?".

"It was an accident". I said trying to defend myself.

" What the hell are you still doing in my house? I want all of you out!". his angry voice interrupted us and we gripped in fear and rushed out quickly.

The next day, I was invited to the cleaning department, and to my greatest surprise I saw the same man in the HR office looking elegant in his suit and his handsomeness was out of the world.

"Is she the one?" The HR asked staring at the man.

I was confused by what was going on and what trouble I am in now, just then the man stood up and walk up to me, smirking at my face, damn!, the closeness was sending me shivering to my whole body and I couldn't understand it, I pushed back a little avoiding his gaze.

"Yes, she is the one, she broke my expensive vessel". He said and I looked at him.

" it was an accident, I didn't mean to pump on it". I said defending myself.

"Well, thanks to you, it's broken and you are going to pay for it". he said and I gasped knowing fully well I couldn't be able to afford the money to replace the broken vessel.

" Am sorry, I didn't mean to break it".

"Is too late for an apology".

" What do you want me to do?".I asked already getting pissed up by his attitude. suddenly he grabbed my hand and turned to the HR.

"I will take it from here". He said and dragged me away.

I struggled hard with him, we came across some of the workers and they stared surprisedly at us, and then he pulled me into his car and asked the driver to zoom off, at that moment I knew this was going to be the beginning of my torture.

ALEXANDER POV

knowing that she was among the cleaners that tidied up my house, I was pleased with their amazing work, I haven't been able to live in that house for days now because I was out on a business trip. The vessel she broke was not that expensive, it was just a way of getting back at her for humiliating me, I could sense fear in her eyes when she saw me in the office earlier.

"Where are you taking me to?". She asked curiously. I ignored her and continued with my phone "Hello?". she yelled.

" I am not deaf, I can hear you". I said.

"Where are you taking me to?".

" To Your doomed".

"Excuse me! What offense did I commit?".

"You broke my expensive vessel".

"It was an accident, I apologize already".

" Your apology came late". I turn to her staring straight into her eyes.

"What do you want me to do then? If my apologies came late, what do you want me to do? You don't expect me to pay for that, because I don't have money". She said firmly.

"You should have thought of that before breaking the vessel". I said trying to annoy her and I could see her trying to control her anger.

"Just tell me what you want?".

" You will know once we get home".

"Home? What home?". She asked surprisedly.

I ignored her and soon we arrived at my house, I came down and waited for her to do the same, but she was still relaxed in the car.

" What do you think you are doing? Get down now!". I commanded, but she gave me I don't care attitude."Didn't you hear me?".

"I am not going in there with you, I know exactly what you want from me and I promise you, you won't get it". She said and moved closer to her resting my hand on the car.

" Really? You do?".

"Yes, I am not sleeping with you to pay for the vessel". She blurted out.

I smirk." You are unbelievable, you really think that? Listen you are not my type and you are not worth sleeping on the bed with me, and you wanna know why? I don't deal with your kind". I said with all seriousness and I could see the sad look in her eyes."Now get down!". I yelled and rushed down quickly. "Good". I turned my back on her and went inside. We got to the living room." Wait here". I said and left for my room and then came back with a file and flipped it on the table in front of her before I sat down.

"What is this?". She asked.

" Why not take a look".I said.

She hesitated for a while before she picked up the file and glanced through it.

"A document for damaged property?". She asked confusedly and raised her face to me." I don't understand"

"What is it you don't understand? Do you want me to read it out to you?". I asked staring straight into her eyes, she sighed and returned her gaze to the file.

" Wait, hold on, I don't get it, why do I need to sign this document?".She asked angrily after reading what was written on the file.

"Is a price to pay, you are to sign on the file in agreement that you owe me".

" I don't owe you anything, it was an accident that I broke the vessel, you don't expect me to pay a million dollars or work with you for a month to pay for it".

"Exactly! Sign it, or you will be persecuted". I threatened and she scoffed.

" Are you kidding me? There is no way I am selling myself for you over a stupid vessel which I know isn't worth it". She yelled.

"You have no choice, either you work for me in my house for a month or you pay the fine".

" I won't do that! I have a sick grandma to take care of".

"Then pay for the vessel".

She stares hard at me and I care less about it.

AURORA POV

I walk along the busy road looking devastated, I can't imagine the mess I am in, why did I even agree to go to the cleaning job in the first place, if I had known all this was going to happen, I wouldn't have accepted to go, now he has given me twenty-four hours to get his money or I accept to work for him for a month. Where did he expect me to get the money from? Who will look after my grandmother if I decide to stay at his house to work for him? I have so many debts to pay including grandma's medication bills, how do I go about it?

I grunt angrily." Damn you!".

Everyone turned in my direction thinking I was running mad, I noticed their gaze on me and I smiled to them not to have the wrong thought about me. Seriously, that arrogant man was driving me crazy. I stopped a cab and asked the driver to take me home. An hour later, the driver dropped me off in front of my building, I paid him off and I was surprised to see the two persons I owe money were standing in front of my apartment yelling angrily while my grandmother was trying to calm them down. I rushed to them quickly trying to calm them down.

🧕 "You are finally here, where is my money?". She asked angrily

" Please give me time, I promise to pay you back". I said

👩"That is what you told us last week, I am not leaving here till I get my money".

"Please, I promise this time, I will pay you".

🧕" No! Enough is enough!".

They continued yelling and causing a scene, soon our neighbors came out to see what was going on, and I continued to beg for a second chance, just then I noticed someone collapsed on the floor, I gasped when I saw it was my grandmother.

"Granny!". I cried out trying to wake her up.

👩" We know you are trying to play tricks on us, we give you two days to pay back our money, or you won't believe what will happen to you" she warned.

🧕"We will be back".

They left while I kept calling the neighbors for help, but they ignored me, I rushed to the road and halted for a cab, one of the cab man stopped and helped me with my grandmother to the car and we drove off heading to the hospital.

••HOSPITAL••

I was pondering around the lobby waiting for the doctor's report, It had been an hour since I rushed my grandmother in here and I had not heard anything from anyone, I prayed silently for her recovery. Another hour passed and the doctor came out and I rushed to him.

"Doctor, how is my grandmother? Is she okay?". I asked curiously and he sighed.

" Her condition is getting worse, her heart is deteriorating, she needs proper medication and she has a blood clot in her heart and she needs surgery". He said and I felt devastated.

"Please doctor, you have to help me, I don't want anything to happen to my grandmother, please". I pleaded in tears.

" Cry won't solve this, go out and look for money to save your grandmother's life, time is running out". He said and walked away.

I fell loose on the floor, thinking of what to do, where on earth was I going to get the money for the surgery? I stood up and rushed out, there was only one person in this world who knew my pains and that was Charles. I took a cab to his place of work to see him attending to customers, immediately he saw me and noticed my sad mood, so he rushed to me quickly.

"Aurora, what happened? Why are you crying?". He asked curiously and fell in his arms sobbing.

After a while were seated and he offered me water.

" Thank you". I sniff as I sip from the water.

"What happened?".

" Grandma is sick". I said and he gasped in surprise.

"What happened? I thought she was getting better.".

" Yes, but she fell sick again this morning and I had to rush her to the hospital, the doctor said she has a blood clot in her heart and she needs urgent surgery".

"Oh goodness me, why now".

" I don't want anything to happen to Grandma, she is all I have left in this world, please Charles, you are my only hope".

"How much are they demanding?". He asked.

" He didn't say, but I know surgical money is way too much, I really need to save my Grandma". I sobbed and he took my hand tenderly.

"Stop crying, nothing is going to happen to your grandmother". he said and was quiet for a while before he broke the silence." You know what, give me some time to come up with something".

"Really?". l sniff lightening up my mood.

" Yes, let me see what I can do".

"Oh Charles, thank you very much". I caress his hands.

" Just stop crying, everything will be fine".He smiled faintly at me and I smiled back.

Some days later, hopefully, I was waiting for Charles's reply, I went to his house, and his mother said he left the house some days ago, I was restless, I tried his cell phone but it wasn't connecting, I wondered where he disappeared to, even his colleagues at work no nothing about his whereabouts, I became worried. I barely go home because the people I owe debts, always stalking around my house, I stay all day and night with my grandmother at the hospital.

"Where are you, Charles?". I sighed sadly sitting next to my Granny who was still unconscious." Nothing will happen to you, you will be fine, I promise you that".

I rested my head on the bed beside my Granny when suddenly I remembered the vessel l was to pay for today, today happened to be the deadline.

"Why is all this happening to me, there is a problem here and there, what am going to do now? I had nowhere to run to, the only hope I had was Charles, and now he had disappeared". I grunted frustratedly." I wish I could just disappear from this wicked and lonely world". I sobbed and dabbed at my eyes.

Suddenly, I noticed my grandmother jerking and finding it difficult to breathe, I ran out to call the doctor, and not long after the doctor came and started to examine her body while I stayed behind praying silently. Then the doctor turned to me.

"We are running out of time, if the surgery is not done today, we might lose her". He said.

" Please doctor, I don't want anything to happen to her, she is the only one I have".

"Then go and get the money to save her life, time is going, please excuse me". He left.

I fell on the floor sobbing and looking confused. Where should I go? Who will help me? I pondered for a while and the only person who was capable of helping me was no other person than the monster himself. I had to take the risk to save my grandmother. I stood up from the floor and rushed out, I stopped a cab and directed him to take me to Beverly Hills district.
