Vivian gave one Last breath before coming down from the taxi, back to the Same house she grew up in to celebrate her father and step mother anniversary, a place she once called home.

Vivian walked inside, avoiding curious gazes of the guest, she sighted her father talking to some guest with her step mother Evelyn, smiling brightly, her jewelry and clothes screamed wealth.

And at the other side was Kate her step sister, giggling annoyingly with her friends.

Like Kate knew someone was watching her , turned and saw Vivian, scanning her then grinned, leaving her friends she walked up to her parents and made them aware of Vivian's presence.

All these while Vivian saw the actions of Kate and knew she was up to no good, Evelyn and Kate would make fun of her dressing after succeeding on taking her inheritance from her late mother and throwing her out of the family.

Seeing them coming towards her.

Vivian took a glass of wine from the waiter and gulped it at once. "let's get over with this". She said.

"Vivian dear, I'm glad you came, I thought you didn't have enough money to come here, or don't tell me you came here empty handed".

Evelyn said loudly getting everyone's attention, "Scoundrels, after taking her inheritance from her, they still want more", Vivian thought. "Well two can play this game".

"Sadly I didn't think I should bring any gift, since you have taken my inheritance and disowned me, I'm not more than a guest, or rather a stranger" Vivian said killing two birds with one stone.

She just made it public that her inheritance was taken from her and she was disowned.

The guest began to murmur, Kate scoffed at Vivian, Evelyn and James Vivian father fumed, but to keep a good image they smiled .

"Now us not the right time to talk about this, let's enjoy the party "James said giving a warning to Vivian, Evelyn glared at her and they both walked away, leaving the two sisters behind.

Kate grinned at Vivian dressing, "I knew you were struggling but don't you have money to buy better clothes", she mocked, Vivian scoffed, "That's much, coming from someone who's mother stole my inheritance and has never worked for a dime in her entire life" she replied.

Kate laughed loudly, getting everyone's attention, " you could have come to beg us for Money, maybe we might just give you".

Vivian rolled her eyes, "The next time am coming is with a lawyer to get back my inheritance, and I promise you, it will be fun watching all of you loose everything you have". Vivian said, earning a glare from Kate.

The sound of a fork hitting a glass distracted the girls and caught everyone else's attention.

"Good evening everyone, I appreciate you for coming to our Anniversary and also for the wonderful gifts you gave us..." Vivian rolled her eyes, Evelyn was a gold digger and she didn't even bother to hide it.

"Mr. Keaton, my company has a new product we would like you to partner with". Nicholas eyes narrowed at the stranger, he still can't say what made him accept the Bowes's invitation.

"Mr. Keaton, glad you made it", James said enthusiastically, " We would accept anything you gift us", Evelyn said, her eyes filled with greed, Nicholas eyes narrowed.

"My daughter would love to speak with you, if you could grant her wish we would be very glad", James said, Evelyn nodded in agreement.

"Do I look like a genie to you Mr. Bowes"?, "er.. no", "so why should I grant your daughters wish?, don't make me more pissed than I am!" Nicholas said.

"s.. sorry about that , the balcony is off limits, you can go there to avoid any disturbances" James said. " I will see you later to talk about the business deal" James said but Nicholas has started to walk away.

Nicholas stared at the woman sleeping on the bench at the balcony, he's eyes narrowed, "it might just be one of her plans to get to him" he thought, "This place is supposed to be off limits", he said loudly starling the lady, she yawned and blinked , accessing him.

"And you are?", the blue eyed blonde asked him.

Nicholas eyes raised in amusement.

"you look like a celebrity, someone Kate would surely fall in love with, your face looks familiar tho, ah!, I remember, Nicholas Keaton, the CEO of Waston Company, the lady continued.

"And I assume you are Vivian, the black sheep?", Nicholas asked figuring who she was from the way she addressed Kate.

Vivian scoffed , " so that's what they call me, well that's what I am, are you here for Kate?, you look like her type" Vivian said, Nicolas lips quirked.

"And you?, am I not your type?", he asked.

Vivian looked at Nicholas, he was definitely handsome, every woman's dream, but not her's.

"I don't believe in love, just want a peaceful life and get my mother's property back", her eyes shining which disappeared as fast as it appeared.

"what about you, am sure you are not here for just my father's anniversary, you must be looking for a wife, Kate maybe" she asked.

"Never, no offense on that, but All the ladies just want love or money, and I don't plan on falling in love, and I don't want to marry just any woman" Nicholas said.

"No offense taken, you are right", but I'm different, I'm not like other ladies, what about a marriage contract?".

Nicholas eyebrows raised, "is this one if the little plans of your father, to get my approval or your plans to use me against your family?".

Vivian sighed and crossed her legs, "My father doesn't know am talking to you, and yes I want to use you to go against my family, I need my mother's inheritance that she left for me, I know you don't want to fall in love, me neither, you can end the contract when you wish to".

Nicholas smiled amused by Vivian proposal, "and what would I gain from the contract?", he asked.

Vivian shrugged, "you can avoid the gold diggers ladies and your mother's constant banter of getting you married".

Nicholas brought out a cigarette, rested his back against the wall and started smoking, Vivian coughed as she inhaled the smoke, "you know that Is dangerous for your health right?", she said, Nicholas paused, "is my fiancée worried about my health? "his eyes showing pure amusement, Vivian eyes widened, she was just bluffing when she brought up the contract, she didn't expect him to agree to it.

"So that means you agree to it?", Vivian asked her eyes filled with hope, Nicholas nodded, "meet me in my office tomorrow, the contract would be ready to sign by then".

"You have to tell my father about it", Vivian smirked, she can't wait to see the faces of Evelyn and Kate when the marriage would be brought up.

"Nicholas?, my father told me you would be here, am so happy you came, don't be annoyed, she's not supposed to be here", Kate said eyeing Vivian.

"Really?, but we were having a great conversation, before you interrupted", Nicholas said. "About what?", Kate asked frowning, "I can bring up a better topic than her, Nicholas" Kate said, hooking her arms in Nicholas's who withdrew it immediately and glared at her, dusting his suit he said "I've gotten bored of this party, Vivian, I hope we see each other soon", he smiled at her and left the two sisters.

"what did the two of you talk about?", Kate asked Vivian, her words filled with spite, "That's not something I should tell you", Vivian said stand up, "I'm also bored of this party".

" you are not going anywhere until you tell me what you talked about" Kate grabbed Vivian's arm, Vivian eyes narrowed at her sister's pettiness, "let go of me and don't cause a scene here", seeing that her sister won't budge, Vivian yanked Kate hands from her arm and pushed her to the floor.

Kate mouth opened, surprised at Vivian defensive action, filled with embarrassment, Kate screamed , getting everyone's attention.

Everyone rushed to the scene, Evelyn seeing Kate on the floor rushed to her , sending a glare to Vivian, " I was just trying to be nice to her, I know she doesn't like me but I didn't know it would lead her to try to hurt me" Kate said faking tears. "Vivian!, Kate is your younger sister", Evelyn yelled, Vivian rolled her eyes, "Then tell her to stay out of my business, she's so nosy".

"That's not true, I just asked her what she discussed with Nicholas, but she won't tell me, she knows what Nicholas mean to me" Kate cried.

"vivi ....", James started, "don't call me that" , Vivian snapped, "Apologize to your sister this instant", James yelled loosing his temper.

" why should I ?, I'm leaving this place, there's no point staying here", "get back here, you are not leaving until you apologize", Evelyn yelled after Vivian , she caught up to her and landed a loud slap, the guests gasped.

"Don't you think Evelyn is going too far?" a lady said, "I don't think so, Vivian deserve it, she treated poor Kate badly, that's why they call her the black sheep", another lady replied, causing the other to nod in agreement.

Vivian placed her hands on her cheek where Evelyn slapped her, this was not the first time she was slapped but this would definitely be the last time, she won't sit and let them walk over her like they used to.

"Evelyn, this is the last time you dare raise your hand at me, the next Time you try that you will regret it", Vivian said. "You this ungrateful child, after everything your father and I has done for you", Evelyn said faking a sob.

"James there's a lot drama going on here, this is not what I expected when I accepted the invite", Nicholas said from the end of the room, sitting on a chair with his legs crossed.

"must you make your family drama public?, are you looking for sympathy or attention, I shouldn't have wasted my time coming here", he said, standing up and leaving the mansion , his Assistant followed hurriedly behind.

Nicholas would have been long gone if not his personal assistant went Missing for a few minutes together with the lady in blue, but he could have missed the way the Bowes family treat Vivian, and when Vivian stood her ground against them, it made him glad but he didn't know why, one thing was certain, Vivian Bowes is his new found amusement.

"wait Mr. Keaton, we can still talk about the business deal" James called out but got no answer from him, he turned staring at Vivian angrily, but maintained his composure not to cause another scene and loose another business partner.

"Take care of this" he whispered to Evelyn pointing to Kate who was still on the floor surrounded by Men wanting to assist her.

"And you find your way out, you made me loose more than you can afford in your life time", James said to Vivian. Vivian gladly left the mansion, at least Kate couldn't force out the conversation she had with Nicholas from her like she used to.

Vivian liked this new found confidence in her and would try her best to keep it burning.

"We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience , please continue to enjoy the party", Vivian heard James say behind her.

Kate slammed her door angrily, because of Vivian said attitude she couldn't find out what they talked about, this was getting on her nerves, Nicholas said her wanted to meet her again, Kate became even more furious, that bitch must have sedused him, she thought.

But it doesn't matter anyway she would get what she wants like she always does, Vivian was just a lowlife beside her, Nicholas won't pick Vivian over her, even if he does, his mother won't allow it.

"Yes his mother!", Kate exclaimed happily, Nicholas mother was a very popular woman and every young woman looks up to her, luckily for Kate, Mrs. Elena Keaton is fond of her and would like it if she's her daughter-in-law, she can't wait to tell her mother so they can agree upon a date to meet Elena, Vivian won't see this coming. Kate screeched and went to shower.

Down the hallway an argument was heard from a room, Evelyn was having an argument with James, who was devastated that he just lost a potential business partner, "Kate should be with Nicholas not that useless daughter of yours", Evelyn said yelling at James.

"You were the one who suggested to invite her to the party, so don't blame me for what she did, I Lost something important because of your childish act, teach your daughter some manners", James said and stormed off.

Evelyn body shook with anger, she hated it when James acts almighty and yells at her, fanning her self with her left hand to calm her self down, she has come this far for her self and Kate , she won't let one brat spoil everything for her, she would get Kate married to Nicholas at all cost. Even if it means to get her hands dirty, she picked up her phone to contact Elena.

Vivian shivered as the cold breeze slapped her at the bus station, she has been sitting there for about an hour now and the bus has not arrived, no taxi has passed either.

She shouldn't have gone for the anniversary, it just spoilt her day, but she met Nicholas. "He's Rich and popular ", she thought, not the type of am she thought she would marry. "Not yet", her instinct told her, Vivian groaned, she didn't know what came over her to make that proposal, but she won't give up now, this was her only hope to get back at those scoundrels. Vivian sighed slumped on the bench, the shivered again when the cold passed her, rubbing her arms with her hands.

Nicholas watched Vivian from his car, she sat there thinking, probably about the contract she proposed, regretting it, her expression giving away, he leaned closer to his window watching her smiling.

Williams watched his boss smiling at something that amused him, he turned too look at the direction of Nicholas gaze, his face filled with horror.

"Was Nicholas happy to see a Young lady who might die if she stays out in the cold any longer?", he thought, he always knew that Nicholas was crazy but this was dangerous.

"should we pick her up, looks like the bus is not coming anytime soon?", Williams asked, Nicholas looked away from Vivian, "Yes", he answered, "I want everything you can find about Vivian as early as tomorrow morning, and prepare a marriage contract, this I between us both if my mother hear of this , you are as good as dead", Nicholas said when Williams started the car.

"Vivian ,was that her name?", Williams thought.

"Get in the car", Nicholas said, startling Vivian who was dozing, "oh that won't be necessary, the bus would arrive soon", Vivian said refusing the offer, Nicholas eyes narrowed, "Don't act all shy and innocent now, get in before you die of cold and we won't be able to get married".

Vivian sighed and entered the car, "thank you", Nicholas nodded, "you have to stop being careless, I won't want my fiancée to die before we even get married". He smirked.

Vivian cheeks burned her ears tingling with heat. "You can drive", now Nicholas said to Williams who's eye brows creased with confusion on what just happened.

Silence filled the car and it made Vivian uncomfortable and self conscious, fiddling with her fingers she calmed her self down, finding the right words to say.

Watching Nicholas elegant figure, his arms crossed, his head resting on the chair with his eyes closed, looking very handsome and alluring, she averted her gaze before she would get caught.

"You can drop me off at the next bus station, I will get home from there", she said aloud though it felt like she just whispered, "I thought you wouldn't say anything, you sounded so confident when you proposed the contract that I found it amusing, having second thoughts now?".

Nicholas asked his eyes filled with amusement, with a smile on his lips he watched as Vivian fiddled with her fingers, "cute", he thought.

"No am not changing my mind now, I've gone to far to do that", Vivian replied, "good cos if you did I won't let you", Nicholas said.

"What contract?, whose fiancée?", Williams wondered.

"why did you stop?", Nicholas asked Williams, "the lady said she would get home from here", Williams replied, "yes...", Vivian started, getting ready to pack her things.

"That won't be necessary, keep driving, we still have a lot of things to talk about", Nicholas interrupted Vivian, her eyebrows raised in question, "talk about what?" she asked.

"About our marriage off course, and the contract conditions too", Nicholas replied.
