Evelyn's P O.V.
"Are you interested in sleeping with a man for one million dollars?"
A beautiful girl in a tight blue gown was standing beside me confidently, her ocean blue eyes had a hint of curiosity in them. That beauty casually circled me, observing my body keenly.
"You are a virgin. I am giving you a good deal."
Oh, really? Who in her right mind would ask such a nonsense question from a stranger and in a girls' restroom? Was she out of her mind?
"Y-you are crazy!"
These words came out as a scream from my mouth, the extent of shock rendered me speechless. My no dating rule from my early teenage years left me the only virgin in our college. Then I found Brad, my loving boyfriend, we also agreed on the "no sex before marriage" rule.
Her melodious laughter snapped me out of the daze, she slipped a visiting card in my jeans pocket.
"Call me when you are ready. I need a virgin as soon as possible."
She giggled and walked out of the bathroom; I hardly suppressed the urge to kick her round ass.
"Where are you?"
My cellphone blinked with my boss's message, reminding me that I was there for twenty minutes.
"Coming!"
...
"It's better to take Bruce here. You cannot handle anything, Evelyn."
President Zuriel clenched his jaws and showed me the time to add salt to my wounds.
"Sorry, Sir."
My embarrassment was quite entertaining for his best friend, President Aaron, he chuckled.
"Your cheeks are red, Eve. My favorite color is red, too. What a coincidence."
I bit my tongue hard to halt an outrageous insult in reply, it was surprising how President Zuriel became friends with this playboy. As for the record, my boss was engaged and devoted to his fiancé who was studying abroad.
And Mr. Aaron, he was a player, every girl was welcomed in his limousine.
"He can date a girl on a ventilator."
Anyhow, game night continued in its full glory after I punched a paparazzi photographer for spying on my boss. I went to the bathroom to wash my face when that heavenly beauty offered me the most absurd deal of the century.
A group of gamblers was gathered in the corner, they were betting on popular players there.
"Place my bet on the night rider. He will win."
My boss was taking part in this motorbike race especially to defeat that famous night rider. He was obsessed with motorcycle races, but his tough schedule didn't give him enough time to pursue his hobby.
"The night rider is dead."
I smirked inwardly and fixed my gaze on the boss's vehicle. Tall, handsome, and charming boys were on sale there, ready to melt any girl's heart.
With a gunshot, high-speed bikes bolted out at supersonic speed. The race was divided into different rounds, it was almost four in the morning when the manager announced the results of the competition.
"Silver Moon, first.
Crimson Warrior, second.
Knight Rider, third."
Among thirty participants, President Zuriel stood first, defending his previous victory. The event was still in full bloom, but he called it night.
I barely managed to complete the paperwork for the competition in ten minutes and joined them in the parking lot.
"Although you didn't work well, I am giving you a bonus. Work hard."
My smoking hot boss, President Zuriel Scott was standing tall like a male model, he had a devil-may-care look on his dashy face. He squinted his dark green eyes as Aaron fixed his gaze on me, and whispered something in my boss's ear, fueling his anger like always. Over a six feet duo was towering over my five feet five inches frame easily, terrorizing me to the core.
"How will you go back?"
Here we go again. President Aron glanced at my bicycle and pointed out; a semi naked girl was clung to his chest.
"Riding a bicycle so late is not safe for a beautiful girl. Besides."
He leaned in, his grave voice was laced with warning.
"Beware of the bats. They like to attack at night."
Phew! What did he think of me? A little girl? I had ridden this bicycle in my every tough time, and he was suggesting that this was dangerous. What a liar!
"Who says that she is going back on that cycle?"
President Zuriel glared at his friend; his cold aura was exuding icy frostiness to freeze me.
"I will drop Evelyn. Get in!"
Without waiting for my response, he grasped my arm and opened the door of his red sports car.
"I also have a Lamborghini. If you are interested..."
I couldn't hear any more of this conversation, as President Zuriel ignited the engine and drove the car at maximum speed.
"Sir!"
I closed my eyes shut and prayed to all the gods in the universe for my safety.
"Please."
My begging finally made its way into his hot head, he stopped his airplane at Starbucks.
"Iced Americano with club sandwich."
"Didn't he eat in the break?"
I kept my thoughts to myself and took deep breaths, my heart was drumming in my ears.
"Take it."
"For me?"
"Is there anyone else in this car?"
Well, this was a miracle of the Heaven that President Zuriel ordered something for his employee, especially the one he hated the most.
"You didn't eat."
He also voiced his reason, but I didn't pay any heed to it. If he was ready to spent extra bucks on me, who was I to refuse.
This time he drove slowly and gave me a chance to sip my coffee. The instant dose of caffeine soothed my nerves with its heavenly smell. It was my first time attending to night duty of his personal activity, my boss was clearly more relaxed than office.
Anyhow, I thanked my boss and handed him the letter.
"Prize money has been deposited to your account. I have sent a copy to Bruce (his assistant) too. Have a good day, Sir."
He dropped me at the bus stop near my flat's building, I walked happily to my home with countless dreams in my heart. I was waiting for an email, which could change the orientation of my entire life.
Working as an intern in Scott's group wasn't bad, the job of a newbie was hard in every sector. But this was not my dream career. My heart yearned to soar high in the sky, touching the limits of its vastness.
"Bruce will be shocked to see my resignation."
That mini devil had overburdened me with work countless times, but no more. I had found a shortcut to success, and no one could hold me back.
Although it was Sunday, I was certain of a positive response. Wish me luck!
Evelyn's P.O.V.
"Application closed. We are looking for a fast-paced story, an exciting plot with multiple cliffhangers. Revise your work and submit it again. Thanks for your hard work."
I opened my laptop as the first thing after reaching my home, this email broke my heart. My baby sister Jade jumped from the bed after reading it and wailed in agony.
"I have told my friends that my sister is an exclusive writer. Now they will laugh at me."
Yes, I was a romance author who was trying her best to sign an exclusive contract with a trending online platform. Third time rejection shattered my hopes, my eyes welled up as my whole crumbled down in a jiffy.
"We even killed a villain in the first three chapters, what else they want?"
Jade read the email repeatedly, she wasn't believing that her assistance couldn't aid me. She was a fifteen-year-old school-going girl, where it was easy to get ideas about readers' interest. If my story (which was according to young girls' demand) was rejected by the editor, then I could only find a big chunk of tofu to crush the head of the author inside me.
My mom came into our room after listening to our yelling, the dark circles under her eyes cut through my heart. As our dad mostly stayed out of the city due to his truck driver duty, she supported us in every stage of our life alone. I wanted to earn a lot of money for my family, so we could stay together without worrying about it.
"Don't take it to your heart. Your readers love your story. It's enough."
She sighed and counted the money. After all, my arrogant CEO was generous, five hundred bucks lessened the injury of rejection. Jade was enjoying the sandwich; she was a fan of fancy restaurants' stuff.
"Your dad called me."
"How is he? When will he come to visit us?"
Jade and I sang in unison, our dad's visit was like Christmas for us from our early childhood.
"Harold is coming today. That's why he instructed that both of you should be at home. He missed you a lot, Eve. Go to bed, I will wake you up before brunch."
After a quick shower, I slipped into my night pajamas and slept with Jade for a much-needed nap.
...
"Eve, Eve. Get up."
"Five more minutes, mom."
I was hell tired after that night duty, my body was begging for a long, peaceful sleep.
"Eve, your dad..."
"What happened to dad?"
I shot up, my mom's tears-streaked face forced me out of that dreamy haze.
"Your father's truck has met an accident. I got a call from the hospital. His situation is critical."
My mom told me between anguished sobs, my mind was racing in every possible direction to join the dots of this sudden incident.
"How, why, when?"
These different questions caused a short circuit, the emitting sparks burned my soul.
"Dad!"
Jade and mom were crying profusely, my survival instincts kicked in while thinking about the worst-case scenario. I redialed the last received number and wrapped my arms around their shoulders.
"Doctors have taken Harold to the operation theater."
Uncle Smith was with dad, it relaxed me a bit. I inquired in a firm tone.
"How much?"
"Eight hundred thousand dollars."
"What?"
My head flew at the price of simple surgery. But it wasn't the time to discuss the inflation and alarming bills.
"Please send me the address of the hospital."
As that call was on speakerphone, mom had heard about the cost. She held my hand.
"How will you arrange this much money?"
She got up and searched her cupboard, the savings of five thousand dollars were enough to start the procedure.
"I'll apply for the loan. Take care."
Mom and Jade ordered an online taxi and left with a heavy heart. I called Mr. Bruce to request, as it was off due to Sunday.
"My dad is sick, Bruce. I need support fund as swiftly as you can."
I almost cried out while asking for money, the self-respect that we kept intact for years shattered with a single blow of calamity.
"I am sorry, Evelyn. But your application cannot be processed. President Scott is busy, today is his wedding."
His apologetic tone diminished my hope's castle, this unannounced wedding removed every possibility of seeing President Zuriel today.
I searched my secret stash and bank account, only two thousand bucks was my total saving. Our extended family was the same as us, there was no one who we give us this huge sum of money.
"What to do?"
Then my Brad's name popped in my mind.
"Yes, he can apply for a loan from his company. His boss is very kind."
My next destination was Brad's apartment, the one who could help me in this situation. My boyfriend was living alone on the third floor of our building, his family was away due to vacation. As he was also on night duty yesterday, I unlocked the front door with the spare key under the mat.
"Ahh!"
A woman's soft moan crept into my ears, followed by the sounds of flesh slapping. In the living room, Brad was balls deep inside my neighbor, Sara, pounding her raw and hard.
"Y-you...?"
An involuntary scream escaped my mouth, my wobbly knees refused to bear my weight anymore. Brad maintained eye contact with me while slamming his length inside her, his guttural groans nauseated me to the core.
"As you can see, I am a man, Evelyn. Go and find a monk for yourself."
His Sarah screamed her orgasm and laughed at me, circling her arms around his neck.
"Harder, baby."
My eyes burned while I pushed back the liquid welling up, this was not a moment for weakness. After gathering every ounce of my strength, I moved forward and used my slipper to slap him on his face.
"You are an animal, Brad. Go to hell with your fake masculinity."
My world was overturned after my boyfriend's betrayal, that vile man wasn't concerned about our relationship and set my world on fire. We were together for two fucking years; he crushed my loyal soul in a split second.
But right now, my dad was on deathbed, and I had more important matters on my hand to deal with. This heartbreak couldn't defeat the strength of a filial daughter!
On the way back, the visiting card from last night flashed across my mind.
"Madam Carla."
I rushed to my room and searched for her card; it was safe in my jeans pocket. With my heart hammering against my chest, I dialed that number.
"I am ready to take your offer, Madam."
Zuriel's P.O.V.
"I will not mate or claim my Alpha position before avenging your death!"
My promise at my parent's funeral was laughing on me on my wedding day. Standing before the wall length mirror, I could see the eight years old little boy crying before his parent's dead bodies, mourning for their sudden death.
The picture of that vile hunter was carved in my mind, who chose my birthday party to attack our Zellburry pack.
"If you are this much against your marriage, then refuse. What's the big deal in it?"
My best friend Aaron was yelling on the video call, instead of helping me in this situation.
"It's not simple. I can't say no to my aunt."
"Oh, yes. You are your aunt's kid."
Aaron stretched his arms and made face on my genuine reason.
"It's either your mission or your aunt. The choice is yours. I stopped you when you got engaged to Carla. There is no concept of cousin marriage in supernatural world, Zuriel. We believe in fated mates, this whole idea of pity marriage is wrong."
The dreaminess in his eyes was evident at the mention of mate-bond. As this topic was out of my jurisdiction, I tried to get him back on track.
"Carla is my aunt's only daughter. She is wolf-less, fragile like a human. How can aunt send her with an unknown man? Besides, aunt has done so much for me. I am nothing without her."
"Come to the point, Zuriel. Are you getting married or not? I am not interested in your gratitude story. I know that your aunt took the charge of Pack and business after Alpha Zackary's death. She is your savior and mother."
Aaron cut off abruptly and asked me the question which had been haunting me since the morning. Carla's unexpected return gave my aunt this splendid idea to arrange an emergency wedding ceremony.
"I don't know, Aaron."
I sighed in defeat and once again, he shouted hysterically.
"It's almost the time, Zuriel, and you are still confused. You must be out of your mind."
"Stop yelling. I can hear you, and why am I telling a traitor like you? You are my friend, so technically you should be with me. But no, you like to stay in your home and laugh on my misery."
In one breath, I lashed out with all my fury, my chest felt so much lighter after this outburst.
"Firstly, you selected this method for your doom. And I am on the quest of finding my beloved. You are aware that I turned two hundred years recently. I have to visit every vampire town to search for my love
In the long lifetime of the Vampires, chances of finding the soulmate were close to zero, but Aaron was ready to take the risk.
"What about the girl from the game night? You said her blood was calling you."
I opened the drawer and brought out the bottle of wolfs-bane capsules. This was the only way to suppress my Alpha wolf, who left no stone unturned to turn me into a blood thirsty monster.
"You will be the only werewolf in this world who is addicted to this venom."
The empty bottle of my life saving potion fueled my anxiety, I called my supplier for an urgent delivery.
"It hurts me too, Aaron. But it's the only way to cope with Zev (my wolf) until I find out the killer."
"Well, hunters are really hard to track."
Once again, Aaron started a lecture about the wrong topic, praising my eternal enemy. My constant glare finally put a full stop to his blabbering, but he tuned into another false frequency.
"Is Evelyn coming to your wedding?"
"Why? What if she is coming?"
My question made him jump in his bed.
"Obviously, I will bribe a witch and come to attend your boring ceremony. I cannot miss this chance to be friends with her."
"Keep your fangs away from Evelyn. She is not your beloved."
Aaron laughed at my concern, displaying his milky white fangs proudly.
"Take care of your beautiful wife-to-be, Zuriel. She is a deadly beauty. Anyone can melt in her embrace."
I sprayed the cologne and gave final touches to my preparations, repeating this line in my mind.
"This is for aunt's happiness."
And disconnected the call with a firm response.
"I am twenty years old celibate. One wedding night cannot break my vow."
The small gathering of close friends was kept hidden from the eyes of the media. We only signed the legal papers and got our marriage certificate. I thought that it was the end of this nuisance, but aunt had planned other surprises for me.
"I have booked a honeymoon suite for you, my son. You have filled my weak heart with endless happiness. The Moon goddess will bless you with Her love and blessings."
The glee on her face softened my heart, it was the first time I saw her happy after dad's death. The wrinkles around her eyes were the result of her restless hard work, she was getting older now.
"As you say, aunt. For me, you are the goddess."
I kissed her hands and placed them on my eyes. The half an hour ride to the Blue Moon Hotel was spent in an awkward silence, spending time with my legal wife suffocated me.
"Welcome, Sir. Madam Stella (my aunt) has booked the entire hotel for your wedding night. Please come this way."
An intimate lavish dinner was prepared for us newlyweds. The soft music of the piano calmed my nerves, giving me a chance to think straight.
"Here's the thing, Carla. I am not ready for consummating our relationship yet. You know I can't hurt aunt, so please help me. This should stay between us."
Carla's blanched face said it all, but she nodded and promised.
"I will not tell mom. Take your time."
Her sad, glistening eyes were heart wrenching. I excused myself for the call and walked towards the balcony. The cool night wind caressed on my face softly, soothing my worries. Suddenly, my world turned upside down, my head started spinning.
I leaned against the grill and supported myself, a server came to help me instantly.
"You must be tired after a long day, Sir. I will escort you to your suite."
As I had already cleared up this matter with Carla, there wasn't any problem in sleeping with her in the same room. Without thinking much, I let that server guide the way and reached my bridal suite.
"Your tip."
Waves after the waves of scorching heat started blazing my body, clouding my vision.
"I will take it from Madam Stella."
Server closed the door behind me and ran away. In the dim lights, I could vaguely identify Carla lying on the bed.
"Good. She got rid of that stupid dress and went to sleep."
The temperature of the room was rising like summer in Texas, drowning me in the sea of sweat. I slipped out of my suit and shook my head; hormonal rush diverted my mind towards my erection.
"Seriously?"
My breath got stuck in my throat, as I beheld the sight before me. Carla's milky white skin was shining like the moon in that hazy light.
"Just a touch would help me cum easily."
With this excuse in my mind, I stroked my fingers on her porcelain skin, her model-like figure overpowered my mind completely. In that moment of weakness, my control slipped, and I flipped her to ravage her body like a hungry predator.
She didn't approach me or reciprocate my advances, yet I didn't pay any heed to it.
"She's shy."
Then it was pure lust and desire, her unique warmth welcomed my painful manhood, converting me into a normal husband on an average wedding night.
...
Waking up after a long peaceful sleep was a luxury to me until now, but today was different. The relaxation I was feeling in every cell of my body was lulling me to another nap, but my alarm hindered my way.
"Ugh! What time is it?"
Checking my phone with half parted eyes was the most convincing way, in case I had more time to sleep.
"Shoot. 10:00 am?"
This time-check jolted me awake, removing the haze of sleepiness.
"Mate!"
My right arm snaked to wrap around a petite figure beside me, which blew my head.
"Zev? How?"
I jumped out of the bed in a jiffy, as it was my turn for a panic attack.
Clothes spread on the floor, my stark-naked body, and Carla's sleeping figure on the master bed was the perfect recipe for the disaster.
"Mate!"
This time, Zev growled loudly, intensifying my current headache. After taking refuge in the bathroom, I called Bruce.
"Why did you not send my medicine?"
"You didn't see me after the ceremony, so I placed the bottle in the cupboard of your suite. Please check."
Bruce's frenzied voice was depicting my current state, the best moment for Zev to mess with me.
"Mate, Mate, Mate!"
He was singing at the top of his lungs. I swiftly swallowed the two capsules of wolfs-bane before turning into a lovesick puppy.
Suddenly, the door of my suite opened with a slight click, Aunt Stella came in with a tray of breakfast.
"Good morning, my lovelies."
I thanked the Goddess that I was wearing a bathrobe, which came first into my mind before her arrival. Otherwise, it would be damn embarrassing.
"Why did you make such an effort, aunt?"
My one-sided conversation got no reply from her, she moved towards the bed and flipped the blanket.
"You are my pride, Zuriel."
My gaze went from Carla's naked body to the blooded sheets, proof of our done deed.
"I knew that you would never disappoint me."
Aunt Stella kissed my forehead, her smile was a mile wide.
"You will be a dad soon, Zuriel. Then my Carla will become the Luna of Zellburry Pack. Brother Zack must be in seventh Heaven today."
She cleaned the corners of her eyes while informing me about her future plans. As this conversation was never ending, it was best to conclude it with an agreement.
"I have an important meeting in my office. See you in the evening."
I got ready at the record speed and went to the office, where good news was waiting for me.
"We have tracked a hunter's presence in the New York."
An email from my Pack brightened my day, I contacted my Beta for the report.
"We were this close of catching him, Alpha. But an accident crushed his truck, and the rescue staff took him to the hospital."
"Did he survive?"
"Yes, Alpha. We will keep an eye on him. He will lead us to the hunter's Pack."
"He must remain alive. I will crush those bastards to death."
The peace of my office provided to ponder over the last night's event.
"I didn't drink much at dinner and Zev couldn't take over me even though I missed one or two dosages. What's the matter?"
I dialed a number and ordered for investigation. That traitor would be punished severely for sure.
