The Battle Of The Alphas

The Battle Of The Alphas

Author: : TP Writes
Genre: Werewolf
After taking over from her father, Brielle becomes the first female Alpha to exist. Better yet, the pack she takes over is the second largest in the country. To say she already had her work cut out for her would be an understatement. Since the day she was born, she's planned for this very day and made sure she would be a force to be reckoned with. Despite being one of the most ruthless, strongest warriors to date, many Alphas from other packs believe the Shadow Pack need a man in charge. Brielle must assert her dominance and deter those coming to take her title. She was prepared to put up one hell of a fight and eliminate anyone coming to take what was her birthright. It was about time these men knew who was in charge, anyway. It all seems simple enough, right? Knock a few egos back into place and reject a few marriage proposals from desperate, unmated males. How complicated could it be? Except, it was about to get more complicated than Brielle could ever imagine. In the mist of all the chaos, the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack decided to take a shot at taking over from Brielle. Now this was different from the attempts of other Alphas because firstly, the Blood Moon Pack was the only pack larger than the Shadow Pack and secondly, it turns out the Alpha is Brielle's mate. Will realising Brielle is his mate change the Alpha's plans to dominant her and eliminate her leadership? Or has the battle for the Alpha title of the Shadow Pack only just begun? If that's then case, then as Brielle would say; "let the games begin." And quite literally, might I add. Oh, damn it, I forgot one more thing. Did I say Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack? Sorry, I meant Alphas. More specifically, I meant Alpha River, Alpha Ryker and Alpha Reid. No one told Brielle it would be easy, but she certainly didn't expect to have 3 mates trying to take away her pack.

Chapter 1 1

Brielle swung her fist through the air until it connected with the man's crooked nose. He stumbled backwards, with widened eyes as he observed the brunette in shock.

As blood began trickling down his nostrils, his hands flew to cover the wound. He winced as he cast his hazel eyes on the blood now covering his palm. "You impetuous girl!" The man yelled. "Do you have any idea what you have just done?" He scolded.

Brielle's head rocked back as she belted out a menacing laugh. Her long, wavy brunette locks swayed as she shook her head in disbelief.

"What I've done?" She chuckled as she raised her eyebrows at the middle-aged man. "You come to my home and insist that I let you take over my pack, whilst I run around playing pretty little Luna?" Brielle soared with laughter as she recalled the conversation she had initially endured with Alpha Bex.

Brielle took a step closer to the auburn haired man. "I am the Alpha of the Shadow Pack and you'll do well to remember that, Bex. Now run along, unless you want to leave here with more than a broken nose."

Brielle smiled sweetly at Alpha Bex as she watched his cheeks turn to a bright shade of crimson. "You'll regret this." He spat at the twenty-one year old.

"I'm not counting on it." She shrugged, before waving her right hand. "Bye now, have a safe trip home."

Alpha Bex turned on his heel as he scoffed at the girl, before storming his way back to the SUV he had travelled in.

Brielle chuckled as she watched another sad excuse for an Alpha attempt to bargain their way into her pack, insisting that they would 'bring the pack to it's fullest potential' by combining the packs, before carrying on explaining that Brielle 'would have much more time to relax as Luna instead'.

She rolled her green eyes at the thought. Each Alpha who had attempted to persuade her had left here broken in one way or another. She didn't need to combine her pack with another, they were already the second strongest pack in the country.

Aside from insulting her with their presumptions she wasn't a competent warrior or Alpha, there wasn't anything these leader wannabes could offer her.

Unfortunately, Brielle wasn't surprised by any of their attempts. She was the first female Alpha the werewolf world had known and throughout her childhood, her father had always made her aware of the struggles she would one day face because of that.

So, she had spent hours training every day since her sixth birthday. Her father would take time out of his daily Alpha duties to train her first hand, preparing her to be the greatest warrior the community had known.

Aside from the Blood Moon Pack, Brielle and the Shadow Pack were the strongest you could come across. They dedicated their days to training and developing their combat skills. Frankly, Blood Moon was only stronger because they housed over two-thousand wolves.

The Shadow Pack were, however, not too far off. The pack housed around one-thousand-and-four-hundred wolves. But you know what they say, there is strength in numbers.

Brielle shook her head as she retreated to the pack house, where her father and sister were in fits of hysterics in the doorway.

Her father, David, clapped his hands in celebration as he watched Brielle return to them. He was immensely proud of her, she had turned into the warrior he had always hoped she would. Her fiery nature was just an added benefit she had gotten from her mother.

Brielle's younger sister, Harlie, wiped the joyous tears from her blue eyes. She had always enjoyed watching her sister deter away the old pervs asking for her hand in marriage, it was something Harlie would never get bored of.

"Another one bites the dust." Harlie winked at her older sister, as Brielle climbed the stairs to the main entrance.

Brielle laughed as she rested her head on her father's shoulder. "I can't say I don't enjoy putting them in their place." She admitted.

David wrapped his arms around his two daughters and squeezed them tightly against him. "Life is never boring with you two." He chuckled. "I'm proud of you Bri, you don't need a man to run this pack. Hell, you run it better than I did." He joked.

Brielle chuckled against her fathers shoulder. "Don't worry, dad. I'll keep putting those losers in their place." She promised.

"Until she meets her mate." Harlie added, cautiously eyeing her father.

David had never enjoyed the idea that his two baby girls would one day find their other halves. In his eyes, no one could ever be good enough for his daughters. They deserved the world and he had already set his mind on the fact that no man would ever fit the criteria his girls needed. Luckily for him, it didn't seem as though Brielle had any interest in meeting hers.

"Please." David scoffed as he rolled his green eyes. "Over my dead body will some mutt be coming anywhere near either of you."

Brielle grinned as she winked at her younger sister. Although they were never truly interested in finding their so called 'destined partner', the two girls had always enjoyed winding their father up with the thought.

His overprotective ways would almost always send him into a meltdown whenever the word mate was mentioned. Especially considering the fact that his daughters were now of mating age. Between Brielle being twenty-one and Harlie being nineteen, sooner or later the dreaded day would arrive.

Suddenly, Brielle's mother came rushing out of the door. Looking practically identical to her firstborn daughter, Brielle, her green eyes flickered with concern as her long, brunette waves were scattered in a messy state.

Failing to notice to worry evident on his mate's face, David beamed as Sophia joined them. "Soph, you should have seen it." He chuckled as he shook his head. "Bri broke the loser's nose!"

Sophia empathetically smiled at her daughter, before her face fell blank once more. "That's great, sweetie. However, I'm afraid we now have bigger concerns."

David and his daughters frowned as they waited for Sophia to elaborate. They weren't too sure what could have Sophia so stressed, usually nothing could phase her.

"The Blood Moon Alpha's." She began. "They've requested an audience with Brielle."

"Requested?" David's eyebrow perched as he questioned his mate. Sophia's eyes locked with Brielle's momentarily, before meeting David's gaze once more.

"Well actually, more like demanded."

Chapter 2 2

David scowled as he listened to his mate. He hated the previous Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack with a passion. A long term rivalry had occurred when the Alpha had attempted to take David's sister as his chosen mate.

David didn't believe in chosen mates, and contrary to what he wanted for his daughters, believed taking a chosen mate was an insult to the moon goddess and the plans she had made for each of her children. However, he was willing the bend the rules of his own beliefs when it came to his daughters.

David hadn't seen the Alpha of Blood Moon for years, although he had heard the title of the pack's Alpha had been passed down to his triplet sons just a few years ago.

He hadn't met the triplets, but he imagined if they were anything like their father then he would despise them too.

David scoffed as he nonchalantly waved his had in the air, dismissing what he had been told. "Absolutely not, they aren't welcome here." He objected as he headed into the pack house.

Following her mate in pursuit, along with her two daughters, Sophia rushed after David. "I'm not certain we have a choice, my love." She advised whilst taking a seat next to him at the dinning room table. "As I said, they didn't exactly request the meeting. They demanded."

Brielle frowned as she took a seat on the wooden chair opposite her father. "Well did they say why they wanted to see me?"

Sophia shook her head. "I'm afraid not, but I can only presume they're coming for the same reason as the rest."

"To take the pack?" Harlie questioned, furrowing her eyebrows at the thought.

David laughed uncontrollably. "As if they could." He sighed as his hysterics died down. "Mutt one, two and three don't stand a chance."

Brielle snorted at her father's remark. He was right, she wouldn't allow them even a moments chance at taking her pack from her. But perhaps their visit was a good thing, once she had made an example out of the three musketeers it would show she truly was a force to be reckoned with.

"Let them come." Brielle blurted out, causing three pairs of shocked eyes to land on her. Brielle shrugged, ignoring the faces of those who were looking at her like she was crazy. "Once they go home defeated and unable to take the pack, word will spread that even the triplet dimwits couldn't beat me. After that, it's unlikely anyone else will bother taking the chance."

As Brielle said this, she could feel her wolf Ocean stirring inside her with uneasiness. For some reason, it seemed as though Ocean didn't like the thought of harm coming to the triplets. But Brielle didn't have time to hash out the details with Ocean right now, she could deal with that issue later.

Harlie sat beside her older sister with a sigh. "She's got a point you know, as much as I hate to admit it, it could work." Harlie agreed.

David groaned as he thought about Brielle's plan. Harlie was right, it could work but did he really want those three idiots on his pack land? Absolutely not. But then again, it was only a matter of time before it was their turn to take a shot.

"Fine." David muttered. "Only because they were likely to take a crack at it at some point anyway, and this is what I trained Brielle to do. Let's just get it over with so she can finally focus on leading the pack and not have to worry about another idiot turning up here to challenge her title."

Brielle nodded in agreement, before casting her eyes upon her mother. "Did they say when they were coming?" She questioned.

Sophia flashed her daughter a sympathetic smile as her eyebrows drew together, before locking eyes with her mate once again.

Sophia pressed her lips together briefly before sharing the final piece of information she had been holding back. "Actually, they're coming today."

Brielle and David abruptly rose from their chairs. "What?" They yelled in unison, startling the omega's working around them.

Sophia rolled her eyes at their dramatic behaviour, this was exactly why she had withheld this final part. "Don't be so dramatic the pair of you."

Brielle shook her head in infuriation, before heading to the door. "Link me when they're here, I'm grabbing Scarlett for some training in the mean time."

Brielle left the pack house and headed to the training grounds, if she had to deal with the Alpha's of Blood Moon today then she needed to be on top form.

She had never met the trio, however the rumours of their scandalous ways hadn't failed to make its round in the Shadow Pack. Between supposedly bedding multiple she-wolves a week and being notorious in the way they ruthlessly deal with even the minority issues, she had hoped she would never have to meet them.

Ocean stirred at the mention of the triplets once again, leaving Brielle utterly bewildered at her wolf's actions. "What's with you and those triplets?" Brielle questioned as she scanned her eyes across the training field, searching for her best friend and gamma, Scarlett.

After being met with silence, Brielle rolled her eyes at her counterpart. "The silent treatment, O? Really?" She muttered.

Choosing the ignore the dramatics issued by her wolf, Brielle found Scarlett practicing some new combat moves on the mats in the Far East of the field.

As Brielle made her way to Scarlett, she was greeted by pack members every few moments as they abruptly stopped what they were doing to lower their heads and address her. "Alpha." They muttered as she smiled warmly at them.

Brielle wished her pack members wouldn't act so formal around her, but despite her pleas for them to treat her as another pack member, the majority still insisted on addressing her with her title.

"Bri!" Scarlet smiled between pants, desperately catching her breath from throwing her younger brother, Louie to the floor.

"Got beat again, Louie?" Brielle chuckled as she extended her hand to the eighteen year old boy. The blonde shot daggers at his sister, whilst accepting his Alpha's assistance in finding his feet again. "She fights dirty, Bri!" Louie insisted.

Brielle laughed as she rummaged her hands through the boys hair, messing it up slightly. "I know," she admitted. "I taught her everything she knows." She winked.

Louie sighed as he held up his hands in defeat. "Well she's your problem now, I'm off for a shower. Later, Bri."

Brielle turned her attention to her gamma, who was waiting in anticipation. "The Triplets of Doom are on their way over. I need to train beforehand, just in case."

Scarlett rolled her eyes at the mention of the triplets. She had heard the rumours surfacing around the pack and she hadn't liked what she heard in the slightest. If they were coming to meet with Bri, it wasn't going to be anything good.

Scarlett nodded, before chucking her water bottle to the ground. "Let's go."

The pair practiced techniques for a while, each taking it in turn to suffer a powerful blow from the other. They never took it easy with one another, they trained hard and viciously. But there was no malice behind it, they trained this way to help the other become stronger, fiercer, quicker.

By the time they had finished tackling each other and suffering from forceful hits to their body, the pair laid against the grass bed of the training field in an attempt to catch their breath.

Scarlet wiped the sweat from her forehead before she turned to look at Brielle. "What do you think they want?" She questioned.

Brielle shook her head as she stared at the blue sky above her. "I'm not sure, but I've heard the rumours, Scar." She took a deep breath before turning to meet her best friend's gaze. "They aren't here with another marriage proposal, I'm certain."

Scarlett shrugged. "From what I've heard, they may not offer you a marriage proposal but it sounds like they'll give you a good time in the bedroom." She winked, before the pair burst into fits of giggles.

Brielle gently shoved her friend before shaking her head. "Come on, let's go get ready."

The duo made their way to Brielle's room in the pack house, before taking it in turns to shower off the evidence from their training match. As Scarlett towel dried her hair, Brielle changed into a clean set of training clothes.

Choosing to sport a pair of aqua blue spandex shorts and a matching training bra, Brielle rested on her bed whilst she waited for her gamma to carry on getting ready.

But the wait was shortly over, as Harlie came charging into the bedroom with a concerned expression on her face. Harlie locked eyes with Brielle, who had now shot up onto the edge of her bed. "They're here." Harlie gulped.

Chapter 3 3

Brielle gritted her teeth as she locked eyes with Scarlett. This had been the last way she intended to spend her Friday afternoon, yet here she was.

She couldn't shake the feeling that this wouldn't go well, she knew the triplets wouldn't be here to suggest another marriage proposal like the other losers. If they wanted the pack, they would try and take it from her by force instead.

Brielle knew being the first female Alpha in a predominantly male world would prove to be difficult, but she hadn't anticipated how quickly the difficulty would arise.

Brielle frowned as she felt Ocean rapidly become unsettled, yet unwilling to share why. Unfortunately, she didn't have time to play twenty questions with her suddenly mute wolf, so Brielle hoped going and dealing with the triplets would resolve that issue instead.

Scarlet and Harlie joined Brielle's side, holding out their hands for Brielle to take. "Ready?" Harlie questioned.

Brielle grinned as she took their hands and gently squeezed. "Let's go."

Brielle wasn't concerned in the slightest, she knew how strong she was and she would fight to the death for her pack, if it came down to it. So, with her beta and gamma by her side, Brielle headed to her office to see what she was up against this time.

River climbed out of the Range Rover drivers seat, before slamming the door behind him. He ran his hand through his nearly black hair, as his eyes scanned the pack grounds.

He noticed a white house much larger than the rest residing in the middle of the community, with four floors and grey window bays. Swamps of pack members descended the stairs of the doorway, leading River to presume the building that had captured his attention was the pack house.

Surrounding the house and following on behind, were much smaller homes with a similar feel. Again, white houses with grey window frames, River came to the conclusion these were the homes of pack members who had opted to live outside of the main residence.

Far beyond the homes, if he squinted his blue eyes, River could see the pack's training ground. The painted white track lines continued round in a wide circle, indicating where warriors should do their laps. Inside the running boundaries, you could see dozens of young wolves practicing their combat training.

On the face of it, the pack seemed to be doing just fine. However, River knew the sad reality was that a woman didn't have the capacity to take on both an Alphas and Luna's responsibilities, it was too much for just one person to manage.

Just as he, an Alpha who shared the role with two others, couldn't possibly have the time to tend to the roles a Luna would take care of in his pack.

River and his brothers intended to develop the Blood Moon Pack further since they took over from their father and combining the pack with Shadow was the way they had decided to do that.

River was brought out of his thoughts as he heard another door to the vehicle shut, before watching both Reid and Ryker turn the corner.

Ryker stretched his arms above his head, before letting out a determined huff and observing the pack before him. "You know this isn't going to be easy, right?" He questioned his brother.

Reid chuckled as he shook his head, remembering the tales he had about the other Alpha's who had attempted to form an alliance with the female Alpha. "Rumor has it Bex returned to Blue Crescent with a broken nose this morning." He confirmed whilst grinning at his brothers.

Reid had always liked his she-wolves feisty, he enjoyed the challenge and the fearless, charismatic personality that came with it. He loved the dominance battle between himself and them, before they would ultimately be allowing him to be the dominant Alpha he is in the bedroom.

Ryker rolled his eyes at his younger brother, before redirecting his attention to River. River raised his brows as he listened to the youngest of the three share yet another ridiculous story about the Alpha they were there to see.

"Reid, don't be stupid. Those are just rumours." River confirmed, as Reid waved his hand dismissively and chose to ignore him. "Come on, man. You've met Bex, he's an ignorant old sod. There's no way this chick sent the guy home with a broken nose and is still standing to tell the story." River reasoned.

Ryker groaned impatiently as he listened to his brothers go back and forth about the girl. "Can we just get this over with?"

Reid opened his mouth to protest, but soon decided against the idea as River shot him a warning glance.

River lead the way to the pack house as his younger brothers followed in anticipation. It wasn't long before their presence became known, as unmated she-wolves fawned over the trio whilst they passed by.

River smirked as he noticed a group of six young women whispering amongst themselves as they ogled him and his brothers. The attention didn't phase him, quite frankly they were all quite used to it.

Women loved them whilst men hated them, it was how it had always been. Between never failing to find company for the night and being unbeatable on the battle field, the triplets led the life many men desired.

River shot the crowd of women a wink, followed by a seductive smirk as he continued on his mission to the pack house.

Ryker rolled his eyes at the giggling women, he wasn't interested in the slightest. Unlike his brothers, he was more bothered about finding their mate. Only then would he enjoy the attention of a woman. However, it wasn't exactly like Ryker was a virgin either.

Reid smirked at the crowd of women admiring him and his brothers. "Hey ladies." He subtly nodded in their direction, causing squeals of fan-girling to break out.

His deep, baritone chuckle only caused them to become flustered some more as they sheepishly waved in his direction.

Being utterly and completely distracted by the surrounding beautiful women, Reid failed to notice his brothers had abruptly stopped in their tracks before the pack house entrance.

Still trapped in his version of cloud nine, Reid strode straight into the back of River, before butting heads with the eldest and stumbling backwards, completely ruining his smooth entrance.

Reid's hand flew to the inevitable bump on his forehead as River's hardened expression turned into a scowl at his brother. "Reid, man. What the hell." River grumbled as he rubbed the back of his head, whilst Reid shrugged nonchalantly.

"I got distracted." Reid muttered. "Why did you stop?" He questioned.

His brothers watched him wide-eyed as they waited for the penny to drop. Reid's face contorted as he felt his wolf, Axel, suddenly pace within him.

Reid opened his mouth to protest again, but then it suddenly hit him. The delicious scent of lavender danced around him, trapping him in bubble of excitement and anticipation. His heart rate quickened as his senses became more alert, before locking eyes with an ecstatic Ryker.

"She's here." Reid confirmed.

"Mate." River and Ryker muttered in unison, however their tones couldn't have been further apart.
