A girl just got out of a car that stopped right in front of a tall building with ten floors. The girl was very neatly dressed, with black pants and a white shirt attached to her body. Don't forget a distinctive envelope, like someone who is going to apply for a job.
"I hope today goes well, and I hope the CEO is well," muttered the girl before stepping into the building where she would work.
She is Pricilla Queen George, the youngest daughter in the George family, who has just graduated from her master's degree after years of studying at one of the famous universities in New York City. He graduated as the most outstanding student on campus. As a result of her intelligence, the girl, who is usually called Cilla, can be immediately employed in a large company as a secretary to the CEO.
So, even if she came looking like she was about to apply for a job, the girl would still be immediately hired as the CEO's secretary, and the envelope she was carrying contained her important data.
"Excuse me."
"With Miss Pricilla?" Cilla didn't have time to continue her words when she arrived at the reception; the woman who was the receptionist was there immediately.
"Ah, yes, Sis," Cilla replied, smiling awkwardly, feeling uncomfortable with the call the woman in front of her made
"You can go straight to Mr. Alexander's room; let me take Miss!" The receptionist bowed slightly before exiting the reception desk area.
"Yeah, thanks; sorry beforehand if it bothers you," Cilla replied, feeling uncomfortable. The reason is that he feels like he is special, and he is suspicious of his dad.
'I think he knows that I'm Daddy's child. Daddy must have done something to make him really polite to me, and that's also the reason why I can be the CEO's secretary, thought Cilla. She still can't believe that she immediately became the secretary of a CEO just by being the most outstanding student and receiving the highest grade. Cilla feels there is a bit of an oddity.
"No problem, Miss, come on!" After the receptionist smiled kindly, the woman walked ahead of Cilla to start. Cilla just nodded and followed him from behind.
However, it didn't take long before the female receptionist stopped and spoke again. "Sorry, miss, you can walk beside me; I'd feel bad if you did this," he said, smiling.
Again, Cilla nodded, not forgetting to return the woman's smile before taking a step forward so that the two were aligned.
A few minutes later, Cilla and the receptionist arrived in front of the special room for the CEO and owner of the largest company in New York City.
While the second company belongs to Daddy Cilla, that's not why Cilla accepts this company's offer to become a secretary; instead, he wants to work in a place other than a place that is still in contact with his Daddy because he feels it would be useless to work there because he takes advantage of insiders, even though it is his own Daddy's wish.
Creak!
The door to the CEO's room was immediately opened by the receptionist, who was with Cilla. It seemed that the CEO had indeed been waiting for Cilla's arrival, which had been discussed since yesterday by interns and permanent employees at Alexander's Corp.
"Good afternoon, sir. I brought Miss Pricilla, who just arrived," said the lady at the reception; to make it easier, just call her Lea. It can be seen that the woman has three heads, far from Cilla's age.
Cilla, who is now behind Lea, just stays silent, waiting for the man who sits in the boss' oversized chair to turn around because his desk position is facing the entrance to the CEO's special room.
"Hm, please, you can go!"
Cilla took a rough gulp of her spit, feeling a little nervous after hearing the deep and deep voice of the CEO of Alexander's Corp., whose face had not yet been shown to Cilla. The man's position was still facing the window with his back to Cilla and Lea.
"Okay, sir, I'm sorry."
"Me first, Miss Cilla, cheers!" Lea continued, turning around to encourage Cilla while smiling broadly as if the two of them had known each other for a long time.
Spontaneously, Cilla smiled back, no less sweet. "Thanks, sis," he replied while nodding.
After Lea left, Cilla looked at the CEO of Alexander's Corp. with a feeling of trepidation. Still waiting the man turned around and spoke to her.
"Ahem, please sit across from me!" ordered the man with the surname Alexander without looking at Cilla.
Not wanting to be labeled as a slow woman, Cilla deftly walks to the table and sits right in front of the Alexander's Corp. CEO, automatically turning her back to the wide window in the CEO's special room.
Thump!
Cilla was shocked after being able to look directly into the face of her future boss. Not because there was anything strange about that face, but Cilla was quite fascinated by the look that her future boss had.
'My God, Your creation is so beautiful, Lord. It turns out that I'm really still young', Cilla thought with a latent exaggerated nature.
Leonardo Frians Alexander, as Cilla remembered, was the full name of the future boss, who was now right in front of her and was only blocked by a large table. Cilla doesn't express more about her future boss because she doesn't believe what people say about the CEO of Alexander's Corp., who is said to be handsome and young. All Cilla has in mind is the CEO, who is old and married. It seems that the words of people who are not convinced are true after Cilla saw them with her own eyes.
"Why? Are you fascinated by me? Or have you never seen a man as handsome as me?" The question with a tone full of arrogance that Cilla really got came from the prospective boss in front of her.
Cilla's reflex cursed inside. 'Shit! He's so confident! Why am I so stupid to stare at him like that?'
Cilla looked down for a moment. "I'm sorry, sir," he said quietly.
"I'm sorry; after all, it's normal because my charm really can't be ignored," replied the male CEO arrogantly. Just call the guy by his first name, Leon.
'How annoying, really?' Cilla thought again with a contorted expression on her face. It was the first time meeting her future boss, and she was already annoyed, especially if she was actually going to work as Leon's secretary.
"Yes, Sir." Cilla just answered, agreeing to what her future boss said. Instead of having a job at Alexander's Corp. as a secretary, Cilla might later be ridiculed by Daddy and her two older brothers.
In contrast to Cilla, who seemed to have been depressed, Leon smiled arrogantly before straightening his body with both hands placed on the table. "Okay, now is the time for me to test you first to prove that the youngest daughter of the George family is smart and reliable, or get the highest score because of an insider."
Cilla clenched her fists; she didn't accept what Leon said, but she didn't dare to argue.
***
After traveling for fifteen minutes, Cilla finally arrived in front of her house by driving her own car. The story is that the girl's business at the Alexander's Corp. company is over, and she will start work tomorrow.
You could say the distance between Cilla's house and the Alexander's Corp. company is not far or close, only moderate. So the girl did not take long to get home.
After loading her car into the garage, Cilla immediately entered the house with a slightly twisted expression, still annoyed after her meeting with the CEO of Alexander's Corp., who is now officially her boss.
"Why is your face crumpled? Is that so?" asked a man whom Cilla first met in the living room of her house.
"It turns out that the CEO of Alexander's Corp. is really annoying, Sis!"
The man who was called 'Kak' by Cilla raised one of his eyebrows. "Keep going?"
"Tsk! Never mind, talking to you is pointless, Sis!" Cilla chuckled angrily before continuing up the stairs, heading to her room on the second floor, and leaving the man whose status was her older brother in the family room alone.
Ernest Ryan George: This man is Cilla's second brother after his first brother, William Keandra George. Cilla's second sister graduated from university several years ago and is now successfully becoming a doctor. Ernest also has his own hospital in New York City.
Meanwhile, Cilla's first brother, William, is married and continues one of their father's businesses, which was neglected because his father was overwhelmed. Not only that, William also has his own business, the result of his hard work. William also has his own home with his small family abroad, namely in London. William would occasionally return to America when he had free time.
"Well," Ernest muttered as he watched his sister leave with a surprised look.
The man came home this afternoon because there were no more patients to treat at the hospital, so he could go home as he pleased because he owns the hospital himself.
Back again to Cilla, who now ends up lying on the bed after changing clothes and removing her light make-up. The girl rolls around there while playing cell phone. Cilla tries to forget the incident earlier so that tomorrow she can work enthusiastically in order to become an independent career woman without asking her parents for any money.
"I can't imagine what it would be like if I had worked with that arrogant boss; I would have been really depressed," Cilla muttered while staring at the ceiling of her room.
The girl's mind seemed to still be on Leon, who had officially become her boss at Alexander's Corp. The girl couldn't stop thinking that her fate was so bad to get a boss who was arrogant and obnoxious.
"Let's hope tomorrow goes well."
"Amen," continued Cilla, with hope for tomorrow.
Knock!
The sound of the bedroom door opening made Cilla reflexively get up from the bed in a sitting position, her eyes fixed on her bedroom door.
"Mommy," the girl muttered reflexively when she saw that it was her mother who opened the bedroom door.
Cilla's forehead wrinkled in confusion as she stared at her mother, who walked up to her without saying a word. "Why, Mom?" Cilla asked.
"Mommy wants to talk to you about something," replied Cilla's mother after sitting right beside her daughter.
Pranata George is the name of Cilla's mother, who is now looking at her daughter with a look that is difficult to interpret, as if there is something implied in Cilla's mother's eyes.
"What, Mom?" Cilla asked, made curious by the serious expression on her mother's face.
"It's very important, isn't it? How come it looks like Mommy wants to talk seriously?" Cilla continued, expressing her suspicions.
Mama Cilla nodded without losing her serious face. "Yes, first of all, Mommy asks you not to get angry rashly after Mommy talks later," Prana replied carefully.
"Why should I be angry?" Cilla asked, becoming increasingly surprised and curious about what her mother would talk to her about.
Prana took a deep breath before saying something important to his youngest daughter. "Save your questions."
"Mommy and Daddy plan to set you up with the child of Daddy's friend."
Good!
Like being struck by lightning in the afternoon, Cilla's heart seemed to stop beating as a result of being surprised to hear her mother's story. His mouth felt numb just to protest and refute his mother's words because he was too surprised.
"Cilla, I'm sorry Mommy, this is for your own good. At the age of 23, you are about to turn 23, and you haven't found a partner yet, making your Daddy think that you should get married as soon as possible before you get used to living independently and sustainably. You don't want to get married. Don't be angry, Cilla, Mommy, and Daddy. I think this is the best way for you." At length, Prana explained gently to Cilla so that the girl would understand what Prana and her husband, who is alias Cilla's papa, meant.
Cilla stared at her mother with unreadable eyes, her mouth still closed in silence, before shaking her head. "Can I ask a favor or not, Mom?"
"What, honey?" asked Prana softly.
"Please come out and leave me alone first!" Cilla asked before turning her face the other way.
"But--"
Cilla looked at her mother with pleading eyes. "Please, Mom!"
Prana took a deep breath before nodding resignedly, then left his youngest daughter's room feeling anxious, either because of Cilla's anger at him or because she refused the matchmaking request.
The next morning, Cilla gets ready to go to work. This morning, I didn't feel as enthusiastic as yesterday when I was going to have an interview with the CEO of Alexander's Corp. Maybe Cilla wasn't in the mood this morning because she already knew a little about her boss's character.
Apart from that, Cilla is not enthusiastic this morning due to her conversation last night with her mother. The girl couldn't forget their conversation, which became a new problem or a new burden for Cilla.
Like now, Cilla was combing her hair in front of the mirror with a blank look, her mind drifting towards the conversation she had with her mother last night. Cilla didn't want it when she was about to start her career and was suddenly faced with an arranged marriage that she had never thought of before.
"Can I make Mommy and Daddy change their minds?" Cilla muttered softly. She kept staring at her reflection in the mirror while combing her hair until she forgot the time. Maybe it's been about five minutes since he stood in front of the full-body mirror in his room.
"Huff! It seems like if it's about corporate partnerships, it might be difficult." Cilla took a deep breath before finishing combing her hair.
It is undeniable that Cilla is suspicious that her father's reason for setting her up with a friend's child is because of the continuation of their business partnership. However, Cilla did not know for sure.
Done with her hair, Cilla rushed to get her important things, including the bag that was going to be brought to work. The girl glanced at the clock on the wall before she jogged out of the room and quickly went downstairs because time was running out.
"Looks like I don't have time for breakfast," muttered Cilla before she reached the dining room, where her parents were already having breakfast.
Without saying hello or saying a word, Cilla passed the dining table to the kitchen to get a lunch box. It was predictable that the girl would just bring some food instead of breakfast and end up being late to the office for the first time.
Cilla's parents, who saw this, looked at her sadly, as if they understood the reason for the change in attitude that had occurred to their youngest daughter. Unlike Ernest, he saw Cilla with an astonished face.
"What's wrong with him, Mom? Dad? He's so lethargic and doesn't greet us like he usually does," Ernest said, waking his parents up from their reverie.
The two boys' parents averted their gazes from Cilla, who was still in the kitchen, while Ernest, who did not know about the arranged marriage planned by his parents, looked at them questioningly when he felt that his parents looked sad.
"It's Daddy's fault," replied his father, whose name was Francisco George.
Ernest's brow wrinkled; he did not understand what his father meant. "It means?"
Prana sighed softly, glancing at her husband as if coding something. "We'll explain later; now eat first! You happen to leave at noon, right?"
Ernest, who was already very curious, had to nod resignedly. "Yes, Mommy."
At the same time as Ernest, who just answered, Cilla came from the kitchen and then approached the dining table, carrying her stock. The girl immediately put the bread smeared with jam into her lunch box while still standing.
"You didn't have breakfast, honey?" asked Prana gently.
Cilla shook her head. "It's late, Mom," he answered briefly without even looking at his mother because he was busy taking care of the food that would be brought to the office.
Prana smiled faintly because her daughter still answered the question earlier, even though she knew that her youngest daughter was angry with her and her husband.
"Yes, you have brought more so that you are full," said Prana again with great concern.
"Yes, Mother." For the second time, Cilla only answered briefly like that, unlike usual, which would always be at length to be nicknamed the fussy youngest child of the George family, but only by certain people who were close to Cilla.
"Who is working today?" said Ernest, teasing his sister.
It worked; the silent atmosphere became a little livelier when Ernest started provoking Cilla to have a long talk.
"Envy said!" Cilla snapped, glancing at her brother sarcastically. Since a long time ago, the girl never liked it when someone teased her, and because of that, she was often annoyed when Ernest teased her when he was at home.
he chuckled. Just as the man was about to answer Cilla's words, his sister left the dining room first after finishing preparing food.
"Mom, Dad, what's wrong with Cilla?" Ernest asked his parents once again; he was really curious about Cilla, who was unusual this morning. Ernest believes this all has something to do with his parents.
"Later Ernest!" Frans looked at his son sharply when he realized Cilla's arrival.
"I leave." However, what Cilla did while in the dining room was just a brief goodbye before walking back from there with a deadpan expression, like she wasn't herself.
Ernest, who saw it, was astonished and increasingly curious about why his sister this morning had become like that.
"Be careful, Cilla!" shouted Prana before Cilla completely disappeared from the dining room.
"So?" asked Ernest, raising one of his eyebrows, asking for an answer from his parents.
"I intend to set Cilla up with my friend's child," Frans answered quite briefly, but it was very influential on Ernest, who immediately showed a surprised expression.
"Dad? Seriously?"
Frans sighed and nodded, while Prana just listened silently.
**
"I have what program today?"
Leon's arrival at his place, followed by a question from the man, made Cilla reflexively look up. The girl stood up and bowed slightly to respect Leon before answering the question from her boss.
"Nothing this morning, sir, but this afternoon there will be an important meeting with the CEO of Leander Corp. Because this meeting was not too serious, he said he suggested going to a restaurant and having lunch at the same time," Cilla replied. Hearing this, Leon nodded quietly.
The girl desperately tried not to sneer at the look Leon showed; the man looked so arrogant with his chin raised when he asked her.
"Just that?" asked Leon again.
Cilla nodded. "Yes, sir, that's all. Sorry, do you agree with the CEO of Leander Corp.? If you agree, I will immediately confirm with his secretary."
Leon paused for a moment before nodding. Hm, I agree; you just prepare the files and others," he replied.
Cilla nodded obediently; she was going to sit back when Leon was about to walk away from her expectations. However, in fact, Leon turned around again, making Cilla reflexively straighten up again. The girl didn't want her name to look bad on her first day at work.
"Oh yeah, don't make a fatal mistake!" Remember, this is a meeting with an important client! So don't be careless and embarrass me!" Leon said so firmly.
After saying that, Leon actually just left the special place of the CEO's secretary without waiting for Cilla's answer. Seeing that, Cilla snorted in annoyance. "Tsk! So annoying!" clicked the girl, so annoyed.
"Who is he? I just met him yesterday and judged him. I don't like to be careless!" Cilla continued to grumble in annoyance as she sat back down on the chair.
Today is really Cilla's bad day for the first day of work; the girl's mood has been bad since last night and is now getting worse after dealing with her boss directly.
"Huff! Patience,Cell." Cilla sighed roughly, stroking her chest patiently, and she even remembered her problems at home.
'It reminds me of problems at home again', thought Cilla while massaging the bridge of her nose. She stopped for a moment from the movement of her hand on the laptop because her head suddenly felt dizzy.
"Two."
Cilla spontaneously looked up when she felt something greet him. She saw a man she knew was an employee at Leon's office. Cilla knew the man but forgot his name, even though they had met before.
Cilla received a friendly smile from the man. "It looks like you've just been dizzy on this first day of work," continued the man without fading his thin smile.
Cilla's smile turned into an awkward smile after hearing the man's continuation. "Haha, not really," he replied.
"I'm just a little sleepy, sir," continued Cilla.
"You are like anyone; just call us names; consider us friends."
"Haha, yes," Cilla replied, laughing awkwardly. She felt embarrassed if the man in front of her knew that she had forgotten the man's name.
"Nolard Bondan, call me Nolard; I know you must have forgotten," said the man named Nolard, followed by a chuckle.
Cilla rubbed the nape of her neck while grinning. "Sorry, Nolard," he replied to a chuckle from Nolard.
"It's limit; maybe you are so serious at work on the first day that it's easy to forget my name," said Nolard, who was nodded casually by Cilla, who was still smiling small.
"Maybe so," Cilla replied awkwardly. Originally, she didn't feel comfortable chatting with new people like Nolard, but as much as possible, Cilla looked normal and continued to respond to Nolard's chats, even though in her heart she was tired and wanted to just continue with her work.
"Haha, go ahead then; I have business with the boss," said Nolard again, directly interrupted by Cilla.
"Yes, please!" Cilla replied before Nolard left in front of her, and at that moment Cilla was able to breathe a sigh of relief.
"So familiar, even though we just met this morning," Cilla muttered while shaking her head. Nolard, who disappeared behind the door of the CEO's office,
Indeed, the location of the special secretary's desk that Cilla sat on was not far from the CEO's room, which allowed the girl to see the direction of the CEO's room and made it easier for Leon to approach Cilla to discuss work.
After thinking for a moment about Nolard's friendliness, Cilla returned to continue her work on the laptop. I don't know what he's doing; the point is that he's doing his job as secretary to the CEO as professionally as possible.
A few minutes passed when Cilla was seriously looking at the laptop screen with her fingers moving agilely. Without the girl noticing, the door to the CEO's office opened again, showing Nolard who had just come out of there.
And again, the man who looked like he had just two heads walked up to Cilla, who was seriously working. Don't forget that Nolard approached Cilla with a meaningful smile, which was quite scary if Cilla even saw it.
"Cilla," says Nolard again, and he smiled so sweetly, as sweet as honey.
Suddenly Cilla looked up, and in her heart she immediately cursed when she saw the perpetrator who greeted her. It feels lazy to say hello to BackNolard, but she has to maintain her image in front of all the employees because, after all, Cilla is still new there.
"Eh, hi," Cilla replied briefly, forcing her smile. She was so indifferent and had no intention of asking a single sentence of the man.
"Why?" Cilla continued asking; she was so uncomfortable because she kept being stared at by Nolard, plus the man didn't say anything and just looked at Cilla with a different look.
Cilla, who realized that of course it was very uncomfortable, felt an intimidating gaze from Nolard.
"Why what?" Either pretending to be stupid or saying he really doesn't know,Nolard instead asked back very casually. Cilla was a little angry to see that, but she still buried her anger in her heart.
Feeling that he didn't need to continue his conversation with Nolard, Cilla should answer with a shake of the head. "No, it's fine."
"Excuse me, but I'm very busy, so could you not invite me to chat first?" As a result of not being able to stand it, Cilla immediately continued with a sentence like that, Let it be if Nolard felt that she was driving the man away.
"Ah, sorry, Cilla, then I'll excuse myself and continue my work too. See you," Nolard replied quickly, walking away after smiling briefly at Cilla.
I don't know if the man was offended or what, but the point is that now Cilla can breathe a sigh of relief again because she feels that the bully is gone.
"Huff! Why didn't I just say something like that earlier?" Cilla muttered, sighing softly, feeling unable to stop thinking about her dead-end train of thought earlier.
Creak!
Hearing the sound of the door opening caught her attention. The girl's gaze immediately fixed on Leon, who came out of his room.
"You!" Hearing Leon's firm voice calling him made Cilla, for a moment, get up.
"Yeah, Sir?"
"Call me when it's lunch time!" Leon's orders were immediately nodded obediently by Cilla.
"Good, sir."
"Where are you going, sir?" asked Cilla, a little curious. To be honest, he was also a little envious of Leon's rank as boss or CEO of his own company.
"None of your business!"
"Unlucky!" Cilla cursed reflexively and couldn't be held back anymore; luckily, Leon had left.
"Ernest! Don't daydream!" said a man to Ernest, who was daydreaming in front of the table.
Ernest, who had been daydreaming with his laptop, suddenly woke up from his reverie when he was awakened by a man who was a colleague of his who was also a doctor.
"Tsk! Surprised you, John!" Ernest chuckled angrily, looking at his friend sharply.
Johnny Erland-that's the name of Ernest's friend and colleague at his own hospital. And the man was usually called doctor John, while Ernest was usually called doctor Ryan, whether he was a patient or another co-worker.
Even though Ernest owns that hospital, he still acts like a doctor who works for his boss, like his friends or other co-workers. He was never arrogant or distinguished himself, and he incidentally owned the hospital.
So because of this, Johnny was not awkward and did not hesitate to ask his friends to joke or act like friends. Because Johnny was also Ernest's friend in high school,
"Haha, anyway, during recess like this, instead of eating or anything like that, you're actually facing the laptop while daydreaming. Take a rest, bro; health is important and expensive," Johnny replied after laughing softly. The man had also sat down on the sofa in Ernest's private room, located on the top floor of the hospital.
And Johnny was used to coming to Ernest's room during recess.
Ernest sighed roughly before wiping his face. He also closed the laptop after hearing what Johnny said; there was some truth in what his friend said.
"What's the problem? You really seem to have a lot on your mind," Johnny said again, making Ernest sigh again roughly.
Ernest shook his head. He thought there was no need to tell his friend about the problem that was more aimed at his sister's problem.
"Okay, er, if you don't want to tell me, I'm just here to give you this," said Johnny, who was so understanding and kind.
The man took out a wedding invitation paper and placed it on the table right in front of Ernest. "Don't forget to come; just be careful if you don't come to a friend's wedding yourself!" Johnny continued to make Ernest realize it, and he immediately looked at what the man had given him.
There, the look on Ernest's face was quite surprised to see the invitation; he immediately took it and read the name on the invitation paper. At that moment, Ernest stared at Johnny in disbelief.
"Since when did you come back with Chelsea? Why is it like this all of a sudden? You didn't tell me, did you?" Ernest immediately attacked Johnny with three questions.
Johnny chuckled at the question. And Ernest, who saw him, became a little annoyed because he just found out about Johnny, who turned out to be back and about to marry his ex-girlfriend, and that former Johnny was still in high school.
"Hehe, I apologize profusely to you, Er. I'll tell you everything tomorrow. Don't be angry because I have a reason why I didn't tell you!"
"See you; don't get annoyed with that face," continued Johnny before he actually left Ernest's room, leaving the man feeling annoyed.
"Tsk! It seems like I've never been considered a friend by him." Ernest chuckled angrily as he watched Johnny leave.
Ernest's private room fell silent again after Johnny left, and Ernest's thoughts returned to his younger brother. Ernest doesn't know what to do to help Cilla so that the girl doesn't have an arranged marriage with the child of her father's co-worker.
Since childhood, all the children of the George family were taught not to argue with what their parents said, so until now Ernest has felt bad for both of his parents.
This morning, after Ernest found out about the arranged marriage, he was so surprised and immediately asked his parents kindly not to force Cilla into the matchmaking plan. However, this morning Ernest could not understand his parents' decision to change; their decision seemed to have been unanimous.
"Huff! Yes, let's think about this problem again later; it seems I also have to tell about Cilla's arranged marriage to Sis William; I'm sure Mommy and Daddy haven't told Sis William yet." Ernest let out a rough breath before muttering. The man then chose to get up from the chair and go out of the room to look for food because, since earlier, his stomach had been struggling and asking to be filled.
At the moment, Ernest can't do anything to help his sister, but later he will try his best to cancel Cilla's arranged marriage. Because Ernest understands what it's like to have an arranged marriage without love, Cilla will definitely be under pressure if she marries someone not of her own choice.
***
After working half a day for the first time, Cilla came home from the office at ten minutes past six, and the girl got home at half past seven.
To be honest, what Cilla felt was exhaustion. Cilla had never tasted it before this, but now he got a taste of it after his foray into the world of work. It's a new experience for Cilla, but the girl feels like going back to her childhood.
Without looking at the atmosphere around the house, Cilla continued to walk into the house and then up the stairs to her room, and the girl only showed a tired face. Everyone who saw her would have understood and didn't need to ask anymore.
Bang!
There was a slightly rough sound of the door closing, and it came from Cilla's own bedroom door. I don't know; the girl's mood tonight is really not okay.
The girl immediately threw her body on the bed. She wanted to sleep for a while, but her body still felt sticky. He wanted to take a bath, but laziness dominated him.
Knock, knock, knock!
The sound of a knock on the door made Cilla get up again from bed. She snorted harshly because she was disturbed by the knock on her bedroom door.
"Who, really? I just don't know if I want to rest for a while," Cilla muttered as she walked slowly towards the door to open it for the person who had knocked on her door.
"Mommy, why Mommy?" Instantly, Cilla's face, which was annoyed before, changed back to normal when she found out that it was her mother who knocked on her door.
'Does Mommy want to talk about matchmaking?' Cilla thought suspiciously; if what she thought was true, Cilla's mood was getting worse and worse. The girl sighed heavily at her mother.
"Are you tired, honey?" asked Prana, looking at Cilla with a guilty look.
"Ah, no, Mom." Quickly, Cilla shook her head.
"What's wrong, Mom?" He continued asking again. Cilla was quite curious about the purpose of her mother approaching her in the room.
Prana looked at Cilla doubtfully, as if the woman was hesitant to say what she was going to say to her youngest daughter.
"You have taken a bath?" asked Prana politely.
Cilla looked at her mother with a frown, then shook her head. "What's wrong, Mom?" he asked.
"You take a shower there first! After you take a shower, get ready to wear decent clothes because tonight said the father of his friend and his son who will be betrothed to you will come," explained Prana, making Cilla silent. The girl's suspicion that her mother was right had nothing to say about matchmaking.
"Mom, I do not agree with the arranged marriage!" Cilla firmly dared to refuse.
However, of course, Cilla has the right to refuse an arranged marriage that is not based on love because she knows what her fate will be like if she only accepts an arranged marriage without love.
"Honey, please! Mommy can't change Daddy's decision. If you want the match to be cancelled, you have to persuade Daddy yourself, but for now, Mommy begs you to be there when Daddy's friends come," Prana persuaded at length in the hope that her daughter would melt and obey he said.
Meanwhile, Cilla, who heard that, sighed roughly, silent, trying to think about what her mother had said.
'Can I persuade Daddy or not?' thought the girl before she was awakened by her mother speaking again.
"Yes." In the end, Cilla answered with that one word. She wants to meet the person she is going to be betrothed to, but after that, she will persuade her father to cancel the match. Hopefully, the plan will work out the way the girl wants.
"Yes, what?" asked Prana, asking to make sure the result of Cilla's answer was not too short.
"Yes, I want to meet Daddy's friend's child later, but later I will try to persuade Daddy myself," Cilla answered, which made Prana's lips pull up to form a relieved smile.
Prana will not force Cilla to accept the betrothal if her husband does not force her to persuade their youngest daughter. So, Prana used a little coercion due to a request from Frans.
"Thank God, then Mommy will go down first to prepare everything. Okay, you also don't take long to get ready because maybe in half an hour Daddy's friend will come," said Prana, who was only interrupted by Cilla.
It was obvious that he was forced to answer his mother's statement. "Yes, Mom," Cilla replied once again.
After making sure that Cilla had followed what he said, Prana left Cilla's room and headed downstairs, saying that the woman would prepare a meal tonight for the special guests of the George family.
After her mother left, Cilla sighed heavily. Even though Cilla wanted to rest in her room tonight, unfortunately her wish had to be destroyed by the arrival of her father's friend.
"Huff! Mommy really never understands me; she doesn't even seem to care if I just got home from work and am very tired." Cilla once again sighed heavily before she returned to the room.
Long story short, Cilla was ready with a knee-length black dress that stuck to her body, her hair loose, and light make-up that looked natural and beautiful. The girl looked so beautiful tonight, but her face didn't look happy at all. What Cilla shows is that it's flat.
Immediately, Cilla walked out of the room; he did not want to get a scolding from his mother for taking too long out of the room. However, before the girl descended the stairs to the lower floor, she glanced at the room of her second brother, Ernest, which was not far from his.
"Isn't Ernest coming home yet? Does he already know about the arranged marriage that Daddy and Mommy are planning?" muttered Cilla, who just remembered her brother, who is a doctor.
"I hope that brother Ernest knows, and she will help me," continued Cilla talking to herself before she actually went down from the second floor to the first floor.
On the last step of the stairs, Cilla could see a family room table that looked unusual. Because of what Cilla saw, now it looks tidier than usual. Don't forget that the table in the family room is set with several jars of snacks; usually the table is only filled with two jars of snacks.
As a result of not seeing her mother's presence in the living room, Cilla decided to continue her steps towards the dining table.
And Cilla's guess was true; there was already the mother who was arranging the side dishes on the dining table. Cilla, who saw her, was silent and stopped her steps not far from her mother, who had not yet realized her presence.
'Mommy is very busy, even though it's only a short meeting, but Mommy prepares it completely; is it really special for Daddy's friend?' Cilla thought silently.
"Hey Cilla, are you ready? Just wait in the living room; Mommy will be there, and maybe soon Daddy will come down too," said Prana, who had just realized Cilla's presence. The woman immediately stopped her movements while staring at the plate.
Cilla smiled slightly. "Yes, Mother." That's how short Cilla's answer was before she left the dining room and followed her mother's words.
Apparently, after Cilla arrived in the living room, her father was already sitting there on the sofa with a neat appearance. "Daddy," Cilla called, approaching the man who had four heads.
Frans turned around. Instantly, she smiled sweetly at the appearance of her daughter, who was so beautiful and elegant in a black dress.
"Come here, baby!" Frans said, inviting Cilla to sit beside him.
Cilla nodded and held back for a moment what she was going to say to her father.
"How? Do you want to accept this match?" asked Frans in a discussion that was again not far from matchmaking. Cilla took a deep breath.
Honestly, the girl shook her head and ventured to persuade her father now. "I don't accept the match, Daddy," she replied, staring right into her father's eyes, which looked a little sad.
"Cilla–"
Ding-dong!
Frank's words were cut short by the sound of the doorbell ringing. The middle-aged man immediately got up and walked towards the main door, but before that, he gave his youngest daughter a word of advice.
"Daddy asks you to think again; don't be hasty in making Cilla's decision. Daddy hopes that after tonight's meeting you will change your mind."
