The Alpha's Unwanted Omega Medicine

Author: : Qian Mo Mo
Genre: Werewolf
For three years, I was Alpha Kaelen's secret. My touch was the only cure for the silver-poison curse that wracked his body with agony, and he promised that if he hadn't found his fated mate by my twenty-fifth birthday, he would choose me. On my twenty-fifth birthday, he brought home another woman. He demanded the key to his penthouse back and tossed a limitless credit card on the bed. "This is for your service," he said coldly. His new love, Lila, was a master manipulator. When she framed me for kidnapping her, Kaelen nearly drowned my sick mother in a swamp to force a confession out of me. When she framed me again for pushing her grandmother, he slapped me in front of the entire pack and demanded I kneel. I couldn't understand how the man who once protected me could become my greatest tormentor, blinded by a conniving she-wolf. The final straw came when his curse flared up. He tried to force himself on me, only to accuse me of trying to trap him when Lila walked in. That day, I severed our bond and left for a rival pack, where my childhood friend-my fated second-chance mate-had just woken from a six-year coma.

Chapter 1

Seraphina's POV:

The air in the penthouse was thick with the lingering scent of our bodies and the cold promise of a storm outside. I lay on the silk sheets of his king-sized bed, my skin still tingling where his hands had been. The familiar scent of him-pine after a thunderstorm, rich, dark earth, and something wild that belonged only to him-clung to me, a perfume I had once believed was a sign of destiny.

Alpha Kaelen stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, a silhouette against the glittering city lights. For three years, I had been his secret, the only cure for the silver-poison curse that periodically wracked his body with agony. My touch was his medicine. The curse was quiet now, sated. But the relief in his posture was overshadowed by a chilling distance.

"Get your keys," he said, his voice flat, devoid of the passion that had consumed him moments ago.

I sat up, pulling the sheet over my chest. "Kaelen?"

He turned, his grey eyes, usually the color of a stormy sky, were now like chips of ice. "The key to this apartment. The one I gave you. I want it back."

A cold dread seeped into my bones, heavier than the rain lashing against the glass. "What are you talking about? Our agreement..."

"The agreement is over, Seraphina," he cut in sharply. "Our three years are up."

He walked over to the dresser and picked up his wallet, his movements precise and detached. He didn't look at me. He couldn't even look at me.

"I've decided to pursue Lila," he stated, as if discussing a business merger. "I'll be announcing her as my chosen mate, my future Luna, at the next full moon ceremony."

Lila. The name was a bitter taste in my mouth. A new she-wolf in the pack, barely nineteen, with wide, innocent eyes that I now realized held a cunning ambition.

"Take all your things with you when you leave," he continued, his voice cold enough to freeze the blood in my veins. "I don't want Lila to find anything of yours here. It would displease her." He pulled a sleek black card from his wallet and tossed it onto the bed. It landed softly on the silk beside my trembling hand. "This is for your service. There's no limit."

Service. Three years of being his comfort, his medicine, his secret solace... and he called it service.

He finally looked at me, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes before they hardened again. "You're twenty-five now. You should find a decent Warrior to settle down with. Have some pups. It's what Omegas are good for." He gestured vaguely at the small vase on my nightstand, where a single, delicate Moonpetal flower sat. "And get rid of that. Lila prefers Bloodroses. Their scent is strong, fitting for a Luna. Not like this weak Omega nonsense."

My heart felt like it was being squeezed in a vise. I remembered the beginning, three years ago. He'd been poisoned by a silver blade in a territorial battle, and in a haze of pain, found that my touch was the only thing that could soothe the curse. He'd promised me then, his voice raw with desperation, that if he hadn't found his 'true' mate by the time I turned twenty-five, he would consider marking me.

I was so naive. I thought it was the Moon Goddess giving us a chance. I later learned the truth: I was just a tool, a walking, breathing antidote to his pain.

The pain had become a convenient excuse. Six months ago, when Lila arrived, he became enthralled. He started pushing me away, preferring to endure the curse's torment while clutching a handkerchief she'd dropped, inhaling her scent rather than letting me touch him.

A soft chime echoed in my mind, a gentle mental nudge. It was my mother. The Mind-Link, our pack's way of speaking heart-to-heart, mind-to-mind, was a comfort I desperately needed.

"Seraphina? Are you okay, my sweet girl? I have news."

Her mental voice was warm, a stark contrast to the icy room.

"What is it, Mom?" I sent back, trying to keep the tremor out of my thoughts.

"It's Elias. Elias from the Silverwood Pack. He's woken up! After six long years, the Moon Goddess has brought him back to us."

Elias. My childhood friend. The kind, gentle Alpha from the neighboring pack who had been put into a magical coma fighting Rogues to protect his land. A warmth spread through my chest, a tiny spark in the crushing darkness.

This was it. A sign. A way out.

"Mom," I sent, my resolve hardening. "Kaelen... he ended things. He's chosen someone else. I'm coming home. We're leaving. As soon as I get my adulthood certificate from the pack, we'll go to the Silverwood Pack. We'll be safe there."

I didn't wait for her reply. I got dressed, my movements stiff, and packed my few belongings into a small suitcase. I left the black card on the pristine white sheets. I didn't want his money. I didn't want anything from him ever again.

Dragging my suitcase, I made my way to the private elevator. As the doors slid open on the ground floor, my heart stopped. Kaelen was walking through the lobby, his arm wrapped possessively around Lila's waist. She looked up at him with adoring eyes.

They saw me. Kaelen's face tightened. "She's just one of the Omega servants," he said to Lila, his voice loud enough for me to hear. "I've just dismissed her."

Lila's sweet smile turned into a smirk. She walked towards me, her hips swaying. "Oh, you poor thing," she cooed, her voice dripping with fake sympathy. "It must be so hard to be let go." As she passed, she deliberately slammed her shoulder into me.

The impact sent me stumbling. The one precious item I clutched in my hands, a crystal sculpture called the 'Tear of the Moon Goddess'-an award for my dancing, a symbol of my highest honor in the pack-slipped from my grasp.

It hit the polished marble floor and shattered into a thousand glittering pieces.

Chapter 2

Seraphina's POV:

The sound of the 'Tear of the Moon Goddess' shattering echoed in the cavernous lobby, each tiny crack a reflection of my own breaking heart. That sculpture wasn't just glass; it was my years of devotion, my prayers to the Goddess, my one piece of recognition in a pack that saw me as little more than a function.

"Oh, my Goddess, I am so sorry!" Lila gasped, her voice a pitch-perfect imitation of distress. She knelt, making a show of gathering the larger shards, her movements graceful and delicate. "I'm so clumsy."

As she reached for a particularly sharp piece, she let out a tiny, theatrical cry. A single drop of crimson welled up on her fingertip. "Ouch."

"Lila!" Kaelen was at her side in an instant, his face a mask of frantic concern. He gently took her hand, examining the minuscule cut as if it were a mortal wound. "Are you alright? Does it hurt?"

He pulled out a handkerchief and carefully dabbed at the blood, his touch infinitely tender. He didn't even glance at me, or at the ruins of my honor scattered across the floor. My pain was invisible to him. Her performance was all he could see.

A surge of white-hot rage burned through my grief. I saw her for what she was-a predator in lamb's clothing.

"You did that on purpose," I said, my voice low and shaking.

Lila's eyes widened, filling with crocodile tears. "What? No, I would never-"

"I want to see the security recording," I demanded, my voice growing stronger. "The lobby has a magic monitoring crystal. It will show everything."

Kaelen's head snapped up, his eyes blazing with fury. He rose to his full height, the sheer force of his Alpha presence pressing down on me, making the air thick and hard to breathe.

"Enough," he growled, the sound vibrating in my chest. It wasn't a full Alpha's Command, but it was close, a warning that made my inner wolf whimper and flatten its ears. "Apologize to Lila. Now."

"I have nothing to apologize for," I shot back, my own defiance surprising me.

"She is your future Luna! And you accuse her of being malicious over some worthless piece of junk?" He gestured dismissively at the shattered crystal. "You've always been a jealous, spiteful Omega, Seraphina."

He turned back to Lila, his expression softening instantly. He cupped her face, his thumb stroking her cheek. "Don't cry, my love. I won't let her upset you." Then he looked back at me, his face contorting with rage. He raised his hand, and for a terrifying second, I thought he was going to strike me.

He stopped himself, his hand trembling slightly, but the intention hung in the air between us, as ugly and sharp as the broken glass on the floor.

"Get out," he snarled, his voice a low, dangerous command. "Get out of my building. Get out of my territory. And don't ever let me see your face again."

The finality of his words was a physical blow. The invisible bond I thought we shared, the one I had nurtured for years, snapped. A searing pain, worse than any physical injury, tore through my soul.

I turned and walked away, not bothering to pick up a single piece of my broken past. I pushed through the heavy glass doors and into the pouring rain, the cold drops mingling with the hot tears streaming down my face.

As I walked, the city lights blurring into a meaningless watercolor, a memory surfaced. Fourteen years old. Older warriors teasing me, breaking a small wooden training sculpture I'd carved. Kaelen, already radiating authority, had found me crying. He chased them off, then stayed up for hours, painstakingly gluing the broken pieces of my little wooden wolf back together.

He had fixed what was broken then. Now, he was the one doing the breaking.

I finally reached my small Omega-designated cottage at the edge of the pack lands, drenched to the bone and shivering uncontrollably. The pain of the rejection, the cold rain, the sheer emotional exhaustion-it all crashed down on me. A fever took hold, my body burning one moment and freezing the next.

I lost track of time, drifting in a haze of sickness and misery. It might have been two days later when my door was kicked open with a deafening crash.

I jolted upright in bed, my head spinning.

Alpha Kaelen stood in the doorway, his frame filling it completely. Rain dripped from his hair, his eyes were wild with a terrifying fury, and his Alpha aura was a suffocating wave of pure menace.

He stalked to my bed, grabbed me by the throat, and lifted me from the pillows. His grip was like iron, cutting off my air.

He leaned in close, his voice a low, terrifying growl that was pure Alpha's Command, compelling a response, ripping the truth from my very soul.

"Where did you take her?" he snarled, his hot breath on my face. "Where did you hide Lila?"

Chapter 3

Seraphina's POV:

His fingers tightened around my neck, and black spots danced in my vision. The fever had left me weak, my body limp in his powerful grasp as he dragged me from the bed. My bare feet scraped against the rough wooden floor.

"I... I don't know what you're talking about," I choked out, clawing uselessly at his wrist.

"Liar!" he roared, the sound shaking the small cottage. He half-carried, half-dragged me out into the storm and threw me into the passenger seat of his luxury car. The engine roared to life, and we sped away, the tires screeching on the wet asphalt.

We drove for what felt like an eternity, leaving the manicured pack lands behind and heading towards the border. My heart hammered against my ribs when I realized where he was going: the Blackwater Mire, a treacherous swamp notorious for being a hiding place for Rogues-packless, feral werewolves.

He slammed on the brakes, jerking me forward against the seatbelt. He hauled me out of the car and into the mud and pouring rain. And then I saw her.

My mother.

My small, frail Omega mother was tied to a post on a rickety little boat in the middle of the murky, swirling water. Her face was pale with terror, her thin clothes soaked through.

"No," I whispered, the sound swallowed by the wind. "No, Kaelen, please."

"She'll stay right there until you tell me where Lila is," he said, his voice devoid of any emotion. His curse was a low thrum of pain under his skin, making his eyes wild and his temper short. He was a beast looking for someone to blame, and Lila had given him a target. He shoved a small, glowing communication crystal into my face. "My men found this in Lila's room. It contains a threat, a demand for her to meet at the old hunting cabin. The message's spiritual frequency is a perfect match for yours."

He then gestured to his Beta, his second-in-command, who was holding a struggling, low-ranking pack member by the arm. The wolf was one of the few who had ever been kind to me.

"And this one," Kaelen sneered, "confessed everything. He said you paid him to help you kidnap my future Luna. He said you were insane with jealousy."

"He's lying! It's all a lie!" I screamed, desperation clawing at me. "I've been sick in bed for two days! I haven't seen anyone!"

Kaelen's face was a mask of stone. "You hate her because I chose her over you. You hate her because she is worthy of being a Luna, and you are not. Now, for the last time, where is she?"

"I don't know!" I sobbed.

He gave a sharp nod to his Beta. The man waded into the dark water, untied the boat, and with a brutal shove, plunged my mother's head into the freezing, filthy swamp water.

She came up sputtering, gasping for air.

"Stop! Please, stop!" I shrieked, fighting against Kaelen's iron grip. "Her lungs! She was injured years ago, she can't take this! You'll kill her!"

He ignored me. "Tell me," he commanded.

When I could only shake my head, weeping hysterically, he nodded to his Beta again. My mother was submerged once more, this time for longer.

"Last chance, Seraphina."

My world had narrowed to the sight of my mother's terrified face, the sound of her choking, and the relentless rain. I couldn't give him an answer I didn't have.

He looked at me with utter contempt. "Fine," he said, his voice deadly calm. "Cut the rope."

His Beta pulled out a knife.

"No!" I screamed, a primal sound of pure agony.

The rope was severed. The boat rocked, and my mother, bound and weak, slipped beneath the surface of the black water. The swamp swallowed her whole.

Something inside me shattered. The pain, the betrayal, the absolute despair-it ignited a fire I never knew I had. My wolf, the Omega part of me that had always been submissive and quiet, rose up with a feral snarl.

I launched myself at him, my teeth sinking deep into the flesh of his wrist. I tasted his blood, warm and metallic, the first drop of his I had ever drawn in anger.

Just then, a voice crackled through Kaelen's mind-link, loud enough for me to sense the urgency. It was his Gamma, his head warrior.

"Alpha! We found her! We found Lila in the old hunting cabin. She's safe!"

Kaelen froze, his eyes widening for a fraction of a second as he looked from my face down to my mother's last location in the water. He ripped his arm from my jaws, shoving me so hard I fell face-first into the mud.

Without a backward glance, he turned and barked orders to his men. "Let's go. Now!"

They left. They just left me there, covered in mud, with my mother drowning somewhere in the dark, unforgiving depths of the Rogue's Mire.
