" Yes, Alpha," l passed it back to him and continued with working on the pack's daily activities, l didn't bother raising my head up when a familiar voice walked into my office.

" Nothing important, l don't see why humans are very sentimental and are bent on celebrating their birthdays every year and throwing unnecessary parties," l answered her, still fixing my eyes on the papers in front of me.

It went eerily silent like l was talking to myself, l heaved my head up to gaze at Delta Zena my younger sister reading the content of the letter, her black wavy long falling beautifully on both sides of her face, the myriad bracelets on her hands, she will never be satisfied without wearing them, apart from my mother, Zena is the closest person to me, they were all there for me when father died, my father died without watching me bloom, my thirteen years never felt more worst yet l took all the burdens on myself, since on my coming of age the following rules have been ringing like a melody in my mind, the safety of the pack is the first commitment of an Alpha, and l have to find my mate, my luna in other to become the head Alpha, l always keep it close to my heart.

" Mother said she will come visiting today, l hope l can plead with her to ask you to go to the birthday party with me," Zena murmured audibly, snapping me out of my thoughts.

Rumours say he might attend his father's birthday party." She muttered excitedly sitting in an upright position.

"Why does it have to be rumoured? Isn't it a normal thing for a son to attend his father's birthday?" I answered back curiously.

" They are so many things you don't know Leo, Humans are just complicated, no argument, But they are not hard to make friends with, think about it, the only Son of a Mafia, Mr Alien Noah the second most richest man in the world, as we all know he is the one sponsoring all the underground making of the silver molten, Carrying out an illegal experience on our kind? I shook my head vehemently as l stood on my feet, l folded my long sleeve shirt up to my arms simultaneously and walked towards the kitchen, sometimes l think Zena has a dead sense of humour, the things she calls jokes are rather offensive, l sigh rigorously under my breath, l don't know if what I'm doing is right, if I'm being the best older brother anyone could have out there, I'm not strict with her yet l don't think l can understand her, but l know she wants the best for me, l shook my head frustratingly and placed the pot on the fire

" Alpha what can l help you with? Omega Quinn the Pack's cook muttered, pleasingly.

"Get out!"

I picked up all the items l needed, l will start with "Sauerbten" a famous German meat dish, which l will marinate with wolfbane, if father was here he'd rather have livestock to eat instead, l won't miss mother's favourite dish "Spatlze(pasta)" l will prepare it with some soft egg and topple it with cheese and rauloden sauce, she always enjoy my cooking, l smile gladly as l threw the apron on.

My scent picked up on Auden's familiar scent, the smell of raspberries, My Beta, but l pretended not to notice his presence.

"Alpha, how can l be of help?" He said in a melodic tone leaning against the kitchen counter.

" I asked to be left alone, l can handle it."

"Will you turn down my own help now?"

" Save yourself the drama Auden, how did it go? Were you able to get it?" I asked about my most concerning issues.

"I'm sorry Alpha, I don't want you to get overly worried about it or why we couldn't get it."

"But it is something to worry about!"

"Alpha? These people wouldn't willingly submit these lands to us, You clearly said you don't want bloodshed, appeasing them till they slowly change their minds is the defence you asked us to follow."

"Violence is not the answer to all problems Auden, don't sound like that, l proceeded in cutting the onions, Mother is coming over, you can join us for dinner."

"No, l want to help," He said, coming towards me.

"Also have your media employees fired, you don't look that good on the latest news, and you can't be looking like the world is against you, announcing the product was all you had to do, yet it was nothing but a disappointment, do we want our investors to think about us? l will send in a professional cook to schedule a new diet plan for you. I placed the telephone back to its hold, l went on with my laptop and continued on with my work. "Go ahead and book a ticket for a movie, " l said to David, we will watch it together when he is done with his ice cream, right Kai? Is that okay with you?" I smiled plainly without taking my eyes off him as he nodded with his mouth messy with ice cream all over.

We watched a series of Tarzan. For two hours and more Kai had always liked it, yet he fell asleep before the movie came to an end. I raised him in my arms accordingly and made sure he rested tenderly on my shoulders.

We got back to the house but Kai was still fast asleep, l picked up his backpack in my left hand carefully.

"Let me help you with that, Sir."

I gave kai's backpack to David as l robbed Kai's back so he can sleep more smoothly, l walked through the hallway and directly went to his room, his Nanny was yet to sleep, although she asked me to hand Kai to her, l ignored and continued to his room l laid him on his bed and gazed at my little man sleeping, l took off his shoes and pulled the blanket over him, l caressed his hair tenderly, I love you so much, l whispered audibly probably he can hear me in his dreams.

l glanced around Kai's room, l didn't even realise how my baby boy has grown, I can't remember the last time l came to his room like this, he has always liked his room interior emulated with millennium falcon, he has really grown, l made it a good deal to spend a lot on "the Leave room to play", the chaise rocking chair for reading and a brought the room to life with blue toile wallpaper and framed botanical print, leaving enough space to play, a lot has changed, he has more comic books on his shelf, it wasn't here the last time l came, l walked towards the shelf but my phone rang in my pocket.

I quickly brought it out so l won't wake Kai up with the noise, it was a call from Andrew, oh l totally forgot l was supposed to meet with him.

"What time are you coming? Should l pick you up?" He said before l could even say a word.

" No, not all, l hung out with Kai, we just got home, l will meet you shortly!!

"Alright, I'm waiting for you, " He said and hung up immediately, what is with him, is he drunk already.

I would love to stay here with Kai tonight. l sighed particularly at how peaceful he was sleeping, l bent towards him and left a tiny kiss on his forehead.

"l will see you in the morning baby, l would love to stay more with you or sleep here tonight, but papa has to go," l whispered rigorously and caressed his forehead, l stood upright as David came in unpacking Kai's backpack.

"Keys to the car, David, l chirped in pointing my hand at him."

" Going somewhere? l thought you were staying the night with Kai? "He asked curiously.

"No."

"I will take you to your destination then." He muttered, dropping down everything he was doing.

"Don't worry I am going somewhere safe, l just need a few minutes to have a drink with Andrew at the usual spot."

" More reasons you should let me drive."

" I'm fine, give me the keys."

" Give me a call if you need anything," He said, throwing the keys to me.

It's a good thing that my privacy is always protected by David, l can't possibly be going with them to a date looking like an ex-convicted drug lord, He knows so much about me that I sometimes consider him a brother, I understand that they want to protect me and all, but from what exactly? I didn't have time to prepare for something fresh to wear, was not in the mood and didn't want to keep Andrew waiting.

"No I am not, it's obvious that you have been drinking for a while--he threw himself over me, rendering me to lay on my back on the sofa.

" Are you suspecting me, Mason?" He grumbled slowly looking at every corner of my face down to my neck, l looked around nervously and uncomfortably.

"What do you mean if l suspect you? I only said ------ Andrew cut my words short as he placed his lips on mine and sucked on me, gushing it like his life depend on it, he swirled his tongue on it leaving it to make slurry sounds as he moaned in his throat, he used his right leg to spread my legs open, he continued to smooch on my mouth giving me no space to breathe.

"An---drew?" I stuttered on my words yet he didn't say anything or look at me, instead, he buried his face in my neck and sucked on it like he wanted to eat up whole snacks.

" Andrew st---op, please.

"Why?" He whispered in a raspy voice, at that instant my phone vibration intercepted the heated moment.

"That can wait, Mason!" Andrew mumbled in my ears having my body decked with goosebumps.

" No, l need to answer it, my secretary doesn't call me after work except because it is important, l sat up as he beat himself up in frustration, he sat back and gulped down the whole content in his glass.

"Excuse me," l uttered grimly making my way to the bathroom.

"Rhoda?"

" Sorry to disturb you at this time, Sir." She said regretfully.

"It's still a good thing you called, what is the matter?"

" Your father wants you and Kai back to Lauderhill for his birthday."

"I know next-tomorrow is his birthday, l don't remember making plans to visit him."

" That is why I am calling to inform you, Sir, the preparation has already been made, your flight is set to leave at 12:15 pm, you'll be returning in four days, l will send you details for your returning schedule and that will be all, Sir."

I crammed my phone back into my pocket and stared at the mirror furiously, father hasn't asked me home for years and l didn't bother going, he must have a reason for inviting me and l know it's surely bad news.
