Chapter 1 THE LONE WOLF

It was early morning when Phillip, the Alpha of the Black Moon Pack, strolled through the forest; the aroma of pine and freshly fallen snow filled the air. The atmosphere was relaxing and encouraged someone to walk tirelessly. The sunrise casts soft yellow light as it breaks through the clouds, illuminating a calm and peaceful scene. It was a fresh winter morning. He cherished the tranquility and serenity of the forest as he inspected his territory's borders. As he went, the snow crunched beneath his boots, and he felt a sensation of serenity sweep over him.

While he made his way through the woodland, the sound of crackling leaves filled the air. As he went, the leaves cracked beneath his boots, his eyes scrutinizing his surroundings for any signs of danger. Phillip was a huge, strong werewolf with deep blue eyes and glittering black fur in the night. He was the head of the Black Moon Pack, a pack that was previously dreaded by everyone who knew about it. Yet Phillip had worked hard to reverse that impression and make his pack one that everyone admired and respected.

He'd lost his partner years before, and the grief still tormented him. His carelessness had cost him dearly, and he had endured years of suffering after attempting to make amends. He was a better leader today, but there was still a void inside him.

The lone werewolf awoke from her rest as the moon began to fade in the sky. She sighed as she struggled to clear her thoughts of the fog, unable to recall how she had landed up there amid the forest.

She lurched to her feet, confused and disoriented, feeling the weight of her wolf form pushing down on her. She pawed at her snout and ears as if attempting to shake off the forgotten memories.

She studied her surroundings for any hints that could help her recall what had happened. The trees towered above, spreading lengthy shadows across the forest floor.

The aroma of pine and mist flooded her senses, and she could hear a trickling creek in the distance.

She took a few tentative steps forward, her senses alert as she sought to piece together her past. The noise of a woman's voice and the feeling of rushing through the woods with a pack of wolves flashed across her consciousness.

but nothing made sense to her. What was her real name? What had become of her? And why, deep within her bones, did she feel such a primordial, animalistic urge?

Her uncertainty turned to panic as she stumbled deeper into the trees. What if she was a threat?

As Phillip confidently walked into the forest, his calmness was short-lived. He noticed a movement of some leaves out of the corner of his eye. Curiosity caught him, but he hesitated momentarily and figured out what it would be. Cautiously, he turned to find out what was causing that movement. He saw a snake trying to catch a rat. He paused for some time and continued moving. He didn't want to be reckless in any move he takes to prevent subjecting the pack to threat or danger

He heard bird sounds flying from leaf to leaf, ignored them, and got on with his mission. The sound of a twig snapping disturbed Phillip's thoughts as he proceeded. He came to a halt and listened closely, his senses on high alert. He brushed it off and started going, but he couldn't get rid of the feeling that he was being watched.

After walking for a while, he heard something moving. In his mind, he got an idea of the enemy invading his territory. He mind-linked his patrol team to ensure they were safe and didn't encounter any enemies nearby. They assured him of safety and that everything was in place. He used his senses to follow the direction the sounds came from.

He found an injured young werewolf huddled behind a tree. She was cautiously watching him. As he staggered into the woodland, the lone wolf's eyes were wide and wild with dread. Her pupils were dilated, making her eyes appear larger than usual. Her fur was matted and blood-stained, and her body was stiff with adrenaline as she fought to push past the pain of her injuries.

When she heard Phillip's wolf growling, her muscles stiffened even more, ready to fight or run. Her body was covered in goosebumps as primitive terror raced over her, leaving her cold and vulnerable in the face of peril. Her body shivered with panic as she comprehended the entire gravity of the situation. Her heart was beating rapidly, and her breathing was strained. She had difficulty keeping up with Phillip's larger, stronger wolf attack.

The lone wolf's body was tortured with anguish and terror, and her eyes revealed the entire extent of her despair and desperation. She realized she couldn't compete with Phillip and felt her life slipping away.

Phillip saw the terror in her eyes and understood that she was scared and unfamiliar with the region.

"Who are you?" Phillip queried.

"What exactly are you doing here?"

The lone wolf paused for a beat before responding. "I am Luna," she muttered. "I'm looking for a group. "I don't own one."

What brought you here, and how did you come? Phillip questioned.

Luna thought for a moment and explained to Phillip. I recall nothing, along with how I came here. Phillip's heart melted and he felt mercy for her when he saw how scared and curled up she was. He decided to take the defenseless young werewolf, Luna, who was alone and afraid in the forest. He knew how difficult it was to be without a pack because the pack provided them with a sense of community, protection, and belonging, which were essential for their mental and physical well-being. It was well recognized that werewolves were sociable creatures who required the companionship of other werewolves to flourish, and he also knew he couldn't leave her out here alone.

"Come with me," he urged, motioning for her to do so. "I'll accompany you to my pack." "We'll protect you."

Luna didn't believe what she heard from Alpha. Phillip, she didn't think he would be this easy to take her in, and due to some tragedies that happened to his pack in the past, it would be hard to trust her instantly. It was hard for most of pack Alpha to accept strangers without knowing their background through either cross-checks of their packs or intense interrogation; some are used as spies for gathering information, however, Phillip was different. Luna paused for a while, thinking of the Alpha's words, before nodding and following Phillip through the jungle.

As they progressed farther into the forest, the snow got deeper and the trees became denser, forming an almost impassable wall of dark, gnarled branches. The woodland floor was dangerous, with concealed roots and rocks waiting to trip the unwary visitor.

The whispers of the wind through the branches and the crunching of snow beneath their feet were occasionally the only sounds heard. The only sound in the forest was the occasional bird or animal calling out, adding to the spooky ambiance.

Despite the snow-covered forest's beauty, there was a strong sense of danger and mystery that hovered over it like a shroud, making it both attractive and unsettling.

At the end of the dense forest, they reach Alpha Phillip's pack. It was situated in the middle surrounded by thick forests and mountainous ranges

As they walked in the pack, the aroma of freshly baked bread, grilled meat, and roasted coffee wafted from the open doors of houses, blending with the fragrant blooms of colorful gardens and window boxes. Luna's stomach growled; she hasn't eaten for a long time. The only thing she worried about was her safety. She wished to get some food but didn't dare to ask. She waited till Phillip gave her

The kids in the pack laugh and play, chasing one another around the fountain while their parents converse and catch up on the latest news.

The sound of horses' feet on the cobblestones was heard as their carts and wagons were loaded with various commodities carried by the merchants. The clang and sparks of the blacksmith's craft fill the air as he hammers away at a flaming piece of metal in his open-air workshop.

Alpha Phillip took Luna into his pack house. It was situated near a hillside where he could climb and oversee the pack at large and their borders. He chose this area for security purposes. He used his binoculars to inspect his pack borders while on top of the hill. Due to technological advancement, he had also installed some security systems and traps in areas with potential attacks and near rival packs.

His house was a two-story modern building with a balcony at the front, surrounded by an attractive garden with well-trimmed grasses and flowers of all kinds. There were several rooms at ground level for visitors and pack members who worked with the Alpha. His room was on the top floor. He took Luna to the dining room and provided her with food. He called his beta, Daniel, and introduced him to Luna.

Chapter 2 IN THE PACK HOUSE

Phillip had two betas one is Daniel and the other is Jason. Daniel was his righthand man and was very loyal to him. He trusted everything to him. Phillip and Daniel grew and trained together. They knew each other since childhood. He dealt mostly with administration, finances, and procurement issues.

Jason was loyal too; he was trusted on pack operations and protection. He dealt with patrols and pack training for all members. He met with Philip when his pack disowned him. He went rogue and his life was very miserable till he met Phillip. When they met for the first time, he was trying to sneak into Philips's territory. They fought fiercely and Phillip emerged as a winner. Jason surrendered to him and asked to be his member. He promised to be loyal to him and help in pack security. He accepted his proposal but kept him under observation. Due to his fighting skills and how he appeared loyal to the pack, Phillip gave him the position he wished for.

Phillip ordered Daniel Luna's clothes and other groceries. He was good at estimating people's sizes and selecting quality materials. Daniel looked at Luna carefully to get the required size for her clothes. His gaze made Luna lose her confidence. She curled herself in fear. She wasn't comfortable staying with the two strong men in the room. She didn't feel safe with them despite the alpha granting her refuge. Phillip calmed her while Daniel left.

Philip encouraged her to finish her food. Since she was hungry and hadn't eaten for a long time, she completed the food. The Alpha asked her to add more, he saw that she wasn't satisfied. Luna added more food and felt full.

Luna was a young werewolf, approximately eighteen years of age. She had a petite body with long brown hair falling down her back. She had brilliant green eyes that glistened in the moonlight. She was young but passed through humiliating life, leaving a bad experience. She adapted to living life cautiously with suspicions. She didn't trust anyone and it was hard to accept people's treatment without caution

In the packhouse Luna was still not comfortable, she thought of her past life and all the things she went through. She wasn't sure of the real intention of Alpha Phillip to accept her so easily. Her mind was battling trying to figure out how Phillip could be different. His stories were all over the area. He was termed as a very aggressive and ruthless Alpha who didn't listen to his pack members. Luna was very worried but she didn't have anything to do at that moment

Most of the time, she used to observe Phillip trying to detect his next move on her but didn't suspect anything. Every time, he was kind and friendly. Phillip was busy with pack issues and whenever he went near Luna, he was calm and kind. Luna was confused as she integrated the past stories and the real situation. Still, Luna didn't fully trust Phillip. She remained in her wolf form to be alerted and defended herself in case of any danger. She assumed to be safer in that form.

In the evening Daniel, Phillips beta came from shopping. He found Luna alone in the packhouse. He wanted to socialize with Luna and touched her on the back. Luna jumped with horror, her heart raced and wanted to run. Daniel was very surprised but he understood. He talked to Luna but she didn't answer him. He pleaded to her that she was safe and he had no harm to her. Luna's heart didn't trust him. Daniel was tall with a well-built muscular body. He was as tall as Phillip but his chest was broader than Phillip's. Luna had a smaller body compared to him. At one point she confused Daniel with one of the rogues who kidnapped her. Although he was a bit different.

He put the clothes and groceries and mind-linked Phillip before leaving. Phillip came and found Luna sitting outside in her wolf form, he was surprised. He expected to find her in human form since she was not in the forest. He showed her a room on the top floor and allowed her to take shower and change into the clothes he bought. Phillip went to prepare some food while Luna was cleaning herself.

Luna closed the door and went to take shower. She cleaned herself but didn't want to change into the clothes bought. Since she was tired after showering, she went directly to bed. The bed was fluffy and comfy. She hadn't slept properly for days. She used to stay awake for her safety. After sitting on a comfy and soft bed, she fell asleep.

Phillip finished cooking and waited for Luna to come to dining. After two hours of waiting, he went to her room, he tried to knock several times but no reply. He took the spare key and opened the door. He found her sleeping but still in her wolf form. She didn't wear the clothes he bought. Phillip was very disappointed; she didn't trust him but he hoped with time they will get along. He went into the dining and ate alone.

After finished eating, his Beta Jason called him through the mind link. One of their traps was removed and he needed to know if Phillip did. Phillip went out to the area to observe the situation. They inspected the whole area nothing was seen. They decided to check their borders if someone got in. After walking for a while, they saw a big baboon lying on the grass. It had a trap in his limbs. It tried to attack them but they managed to take it since they were two.

On the next day, Luna woke up early in the morning. She remembered that she slept early and didn't eat. She was very angry and her stomach growled. She raised and strode into the kitchen. No one was around. She didn't know what to eat and wasn't familiar with the house. Phillip left early for pack runs. In his pack, he tends to organize pack runs twice a week in the morning to make his members strong. Also, he conducted hunting and fighting training twice a week in the evening.

After half an hour, Phillip returned. He was sweating and his T-shirt was wet. He didn't know if Luna would be awake that early. He came to check on her and left the rest to continue with the exercises. He found Luna in the kitchen thinking about what to eat. Phillip understood her situation, he was happy to find Luna had put on one of the clothes he bought and was somehow comfortable. He greeted her and she replied although still seemed to be uncomfortable with him. He went into his room to take shower and headed to the kitchen.

Phillip prepared food for them, he prepared baked potatoes, omelets, grilled beef, and cocktail juice. Luna ate all of her food and she was full. She thanked Alpha Phillip and went to the living room. After finished eating, Phillip walked her through the pack house and showed her the surrounding environment. He took her to the nearby houses and introduced her. They returned to the pack house; Luna started to be free in front of Phillip. She began asking him some questions concerning everything she saw to be familiar with the pack and its members. Phillip was very happy to answer her and he acknowledged her questions to be wise and how informative she wanted to be. That day they spent indoors. He wanted to create a harmonious environment with Luna and make her relaxed and confident in front of him. Since the arrival of Luna, Alpha Phillips felt more connected to her and wished to be around her. He didn't understand this situation. There were many female members in his pack but Luna was different.

Chapter 3 THE ROGUES

The next days, Alpha Phillip asked Luna to join the pack runs and the fighting and hunting training. He wanted to train her himself but Luna was not comfortable. She wished to be trained with other warriors and wanted to socialize with other pack members. Phillip agreed to her wish but he felt afraid to let her train with the one he didn't trust. He looked for Zayn one of the Omega in his pack and ask him to train Luna. Zayn was skilled in fighting and he was the first after Jason. Zayn joined Black Moon pack after running from his family pack.

He didn't agree with their Alpha leadership and led other members to demonstrate against their Alpha. His Alpha sends the Beta and some of his people to kidnap Zayn. He managed to run away and joined Phillip's pack. He is one of his confidants.

Luna was supposed to work up early in the morning around 4 AM exercise for two hours with Zayn till 6 AM, where she returned to the packhouse to take shower and join Alpha Phillip for breakfast. Luna liked the schedule and she started being confident in what she does. Sometimes, Zayn would assign Luna with other experienced warriors in his group to help her get more exposure to different situations.

She became accustomed to packing activities and regulations and began to play part in their accomplishment. She was assigned to be Alpha Phillip's assistant, helping him in administration and overseeing other sectors in his absence. Most members knew her and became familiar with her. Whenever she got time, she used to go to their house and help them with their challenges. She was friendly to everyone and they were happy to invite her into their homes.

Luna had recently joined the Black Moon Pack and was eager to impress her new Alpha. She decided to repay him by using all her capabilities to ensure the pack was operating properly and safely. She encouraged members to participate in pack runs in the morning and training in the evening during their respective days. She appeared to be the first in each activity and she trained younger members. Alpha Phillip was fascinated by her initiatives and participation. He felt very providential by taking her in his pack. As he appeared to be near her and saw what she was capable of doing Alpha Phillip started feeling different about her. The attraction towards her increased. He tried to toss away the idea but kept on persisting.

One day, Luna had been out on a run, getting to patrol the pack she'd joined when she noticed the Alpha walking in the distance. Her pulse raced as she watched him, filled with awe and admiration. She'd heard stories about his blunders and wild behavior in the past, but she'd also heard of his metamorphosis into a brilliant leader. While She was watching him, she observed a stranger in the bushes. She squinted, attempting to make out the form in the darkness. Luna's heartbeat quickened as she realized there was another person in the forest with them. She dashed towards the Alpha, trying to warn him of the impending danger.

Phillip turned towards her as she approached, his gaze fixed on hers. Luna tripped for a second as she peered into his deep blue eyes, her heart beating. Her heart was hammering in her chest as she stood before him for the first time.

"Alpha Phillip," she murmured, attempting to keep her voice steady. "I can feel someone else in the forest."

Phillip's pupils constricted as he took in his surroundings, his instincts on high alert. He searched the area swiftly, his nose twitching as he detected a faint fragrance.

"Stay here," he commanded, his voice forceful and low. "I'll look into it."

Phillip left.

Luna agreed, her heart still pounding as she observed him fade into the shadows. She remained there, her eyes darting throughout the forest, looking for any indication of danger. She had a feeling this was just the start of an exciting adventure with the Black Moon Pack. Since it was the best pack, there should be a lot of strangers want to come in and the rival packs may want to attack them.

Using his senses, Phillip went to look for the intruders. He smelled their fragrances and found the area. He met the two rogues hidden in the dense trees. Alpha Phillip stood towering and powerful; his gaze fixed on the two rogues in front of him. As the three creatures circled each other, roaring and protruding their teeth, the air was packed with tension.

The alpha was a big wolf, easily twice his rivals' sizes, the rogues. His thick hair bristled with excitement, and his muscles pulsed beneath his skin as he positioned himself for the fight ahead.

The rogues weren't any better. When they surrounded Alpha Phillip, they were slim and wiry, their eyes gleaming with wild hunger. Their hackles were up in an obvious challenge to the alpha's power, and their teeth were pierced in a snarl.

The rogues charged at the alpha with a rapid burst of motion, hoping to catch him off guard. But the alpha was prepared, and he faced their attack head-on, his enormous jaws snapping shut on one rogue's neck while his massive claws brushed away the second rogue. The fight was ferocious and nasty, with fur flying and jaws snapping as the three wolves collided in a whirl. The alpha fought with such strength and ferocity that his rivals were left spinning, but the rogues were gritty and persistent, and they battled with a tenacity that debunks their smaller size. Regardless of the rogues' best efforts, it was evident that they were not fit for the alpha.

The alpha rushed forward with a ferocious snarl, his jaws locking over the throat of the surviving rogue, finishing the conflict in a burst of blood and anger. Breathing heavily, the alpha stood over his opponents' dead bodies, his chest heaving with the effort. As he stared down at his fallen opponents, his eyes sparkled with a vicious triumph, his control over the pack reinforced. He carried the two rogues out of his borders and returned to where he left Luna. When Luna saw Alpha's terrified look, she got scared. Alpha recognized that and tried to come her down. He urged her to go back to the pack house. On the way, they didn't talk much till arrived at the pack house and moved on with their normal schedules.
