The Alpha's Princess

The Alpha's Princess

Author: : Lovella Novela
Genre: Werewolf
This is about the story of Matteo and Freya's (Lycan Prince Matteo) daughter. Aliyah Collins is a princess of the supernatural. She is one of the twins of the Lycan King and Queen, but she has no wolf. The palace hides her and her twin's identities to protect them, especially her, since she is basically a human. She hides the fact that she can read minds and move things without touching them from her family. She cannot smell her mate, so she doesn't know that she is already in an intimate relationship with him. Alpha Xavier Bloodworth, the alpha of Aliyah's mother's original pack, the Howlers Pack, faces a dilemma. Believing Aliyah to be a human, he chooses to conceal their true nature as mates from her and the others. His focus is on fortifying his pack, which has become a target of rogues and an unknown adversary. In the midst of this, his growing feelings for Aliyah add another layer of complexity to his already challenging role. Being the Alpha of the Howlers Pack, which consists of former rogues who fought against the palace 18 years ago, Xavier is not fond of the palace. Although he doesn't plan to go against them, he also doesn't like to associate himself with them. However, an incident made Xavier discover the truth about Aliyah's identity while he was thinking of someone else being the princess.

Chapter 1 One

Aliyah

The king and queen of the supernatural world, Matteo and Freya Harith, are known as the most powerful beings in our realm. Their reign saw them through two wars led by their uncle and aunt, both of which they won successfully. They had twins named Leo and Luna, whom they loved dearly and who were destined to inherit their kingdom.

However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the king and queen needed to protect their twins. To do so, they changed their names when they began school. Leo became Alistaire, a strong Lycan Prince. In contrast, Luna became Aliyah, an omega who could move objects without touching them and read minds. But these abilities were not easy for her to control. Often, her nose would bleed when she used them. She had no one to guide her, fearing her parents might find out.

Aliyah kept her abilities to herself out of fear that the kingdom would see her as evil and compare her to her witch aunt, who waged war a year after her parents' reign. How do I know this? Because I am Luna, also known as Aliyah Collins, an 18-year-old first-year college student majoring in fashion design. I am the daughter of the Lycan King and Queen. So, yes, I'm a princess. But as I mentioned, I am not like them. I don't have a beast, so I cannot shift into my lycan form.

I am more human, lacking a heightened sense of smell and sight. Some close to our family know this, but they accept me for who I am, which eases my mind. Still, I sometimes feel sad, knowing that I'll never truly feel like I belong because I lack the ability that proves I am the child of the Lycan King and Queen: a Lycan beast.

The palace kept our true identities a secret from everyone except for a few trusted family friends. Believe it or not, I have a friend in the Midnight Pack who knows my true identity and whom I trust completely. I just wish we were attending the same school.

Today, I'm leaving to stay in the apartment I'll be living in with Aunt Avery while studying at Glendale University, located in human territory.

People have changed now. They are more open to supernatural beings. Although hunters still exist to deal with unruly wolves, their job is easier now that humans are more aware of our kind. The palace also helps in hunting down rogues.

"Is everything packed, dear?" my mother asked, and I nodded in response. We were at the dining table, and my mouth was full of food, so I couldn't speak. "Make sure you call us regularly," she continued while serving food to my father's plate, who was eating heartily.

"Mom, Yay is already grown up and very responsible. You don't have to remind her repeatedly," my twin, Ali, interjected, causing me to wink at him.

"Dad, can't you tell Mom she doesn't need to worry about me?" I asked my father, who was quietly eating after I swallow my food. But he just shrugged, making Mom and Ali laugh. "You really can't say anything against Mom, can you?" I commented. But Dad just ignored it, focused on enjoying the meal my mother had prepared.

"Dear, your father loves me very much. When you find your mate, you'll understand what I mean," my beautiful mother said with a smile.

"Whatever, Mom... Anyways, have you informed Aunt Avery?" I asked, to which my parents both nodded.

"So don't give your aunt any trouble," she reminded me and I responded with a nod.

"Dear," I heard Mom say, so I looked at her.

"Yes, Mom?" I asked.

"You must be careful; although Avery is a witch, you can't let your guard down," she reminded me. I smiled, acknowledging her concern.

'Baby, our princess is a very fine young lady. You don't need to treat her like a child,' Dad told Mom through their mind link. I accidentally overheard it, which happens occasionally, and out of curiosity, I decided to know what Mom would respond with.

'She and Ali will always be my babies, Matt. You know she's a human, so I didn't want anything to happen to her,' Mom responded, making me extremely happy.

"Dear, your nose is bleeding again!" Mom exclaimed, quickly handing me a tissue from the table. Ali and Dad both looked at me, now worried as well. Why did I even try to use my ability?

"I'm okay, Mom." I didn't want her to worry. Besides, I was about to leave for human territory, and I didn't want this to be a reason for them to stop me.

"Are you sure? Yay?" my twin and Dad asked in unison. I nodded and smiled at them.

"I think I just overdid my studying."

They know I love fashion design, so they easily understood when I said I was studying too much. My classes hadn't started yet, but I had already bought several books they often saw me reading.

"Take it easy, dear. You don't have to be an honor student. It's enough for us that you finish your studies and do what you love," Mom said.

"I will keep that in mind, Mom." They smiled at me, and I had already wiped away the blood from my nose, which had stopped bleeding.

I trained with selected omegas (only those our family trusts), so I know how to defend myself. Mom, Dad, and even Alistaire trained me. It's our way of bonding with each other. And don't get me wrong; even if I seem alone, I still love them. I love them with all my heart and am willing to die for them.

"Dear, if you need anything, you must call us, alright?" my mother continued.

"Yes, Mom," I replied, smiling.

"You can tell Avery as well. She'll let us know immediately."

"I know that already, Mom."

"I just can't believe that my baby will be living away from me," she said emotionally, and we all laughed. Dad and Alistaire were teary-eyed but were trying to hide it because of their ego. "Why are you all laughing?" Mom inquired, glaring at Dad.

"Nothing, baby," he said, giving me a wink, and I just shook my head. That's how he is-he always submits to my mother, even though he's the king. Our people didn't know about it; they always saw them as strict, fair, and just rulers. They are not perfect; there are people who, I think, were angry at them and didn't like the way they ran the kingdom. But the majority love them nonetheless.

"No boys, Yay," Alistaire warned me, making me roll my eyes at him. I turned 18 three months ago, and since then, he has started to warn me about the opposite sex.

"I'm older than you, Ali," I replied.

"By just a few minutes! But that doesn't mean those boys can approach you easily. They'll have to go through me before they can even talk to you," he replied.

"And me too," Dad seconded, making me roll my eyes at them.

"Mom, can you tell them I know what I'm doing?" I asked, looking for support.

"You're our baby, so it's natural for them to act that way. You can have a relationship but with limitations. See to it that you only give yourself to your mate or someone you love and who loves you back," she advised.

"I will do that, Mom," I replied, smiling. Compared to Dad and Ali, she's always rational and very understanding about things like this. Maybe it's because they are boys and tend to be more protective. Because of what my mom said, I feel more independent. At least she trusts me and my decision-making.

Our breakfast was over, and we rested in the living room while waiting for Aunt Avery. We will leave because classes start on Monday, and it's two days from now, so we must go to my rented apartment. I had requested my parents let me attend that particular school. There are wolves and witches, but most students are humans. I feel like I can get along better with them than with other supernatural beings. I hope my college life will be fruitful and I won't face any trouble. Well, that's what I'm hoping for. But the moon goddess has something in store for me.

Chapter 2 First meeting

Aliyah

Glendale University.

It's Monday morning, and I'm currently walking around the university. I usually do this, especially since the place is new to me. I guess it's also part of my cautious nature, which started when I was a child.

I walked with many other students and noticed that most of them seemed to know each other and were happy to see their friends. I wish I could say the same, but my friend chose to study at another school because her crush is there.

"Yay!" I flinched when I heard a familiar voice from behind, so I quickly turned around. My eyes widened when I realized I had heard correctly because I saw my best friend running toward me, even though I thought she was at a different school.

"You witch! What are you doing here?" I asked as she finally reached me, and I'm sure disbelief was still all over my face.

"I can't let you have all the fun by yourself!" Janice said, laughing, which made me laugh, too. I consider her my best friend because she treats me like I'm not a princess. Even though she knows my true identity, I feel ordinary when I'm with her. Her dad, Uncle Joric, is very close to our family.

"Your dad let you attend here?" I asked curiously. She's an alpha daughter, so technically, she should be in the university provided by the palace near my grandfather's mansion, a little away from here.

"Of course! I told him you'd be attending here, so he agreed." Her father is the Alpha of the Midnight Pack, my mother's adoptive pack, and my grandparents' home, who were both pack warriors when Janice's grandfather was still the Alpha there.

Janice is smart, something Uncle Joric often brags about, saying she got it from him. In reality, she inherited it from her mother, who used to be an omega at the palace. We're both freshmen, but she's only 17 years old.

"Where are you staying now? Don't tell me you're going home every day?" I asked curiously. Midnight Pack isn't too far from here, but going home every day would still be a hassle.

"Where else, dorm." I looked at her, about to ask her to live with me, but she didn't let me. "No, I'm not staying at your place."

"But-"

"No more buts." She insisted, so I just let her be. I didn't push it anymore because I knew I wouldn't win.

"I assume you're in Business Administration," I said, and she nodded in agreement.

"I'm going to manage your boutique." I laughed because she always says that to me. "We're going to make your brand the most famous clothing line in the world," she added, as if she were dreaming.

"We have different classes; when does your first class start?"

"Hmm, 9." She replied, which surprised me.

"Then why are you already here?"

"I knew you'd be here this early, too. You know, you have this habit of familiarizing yourself with a new place." She answered, and I smiled. She really knows me well and understands some of my habits.

We continued walking around together, but before 9 o'clock, we parted ways so she could go to her first class while I sat on a bench near the oval since my class wouldn't start until 10:30.

I don't know why, but I felt like someone was watching me, so I looked behind me. However, I only saw a few students walking and chatting with others.

I thought I might be overthinking, so I shrugged it off and continued watching the students on the oval having fun. I think they came early to catch up with their friends before class.

After a few minutes, I got bored, so I decided to walk around again. The good thing about this university is that it's close to the woods, which gives wolf students a chance to shift.

I kept walking until I got there. I figured it would be safe since it's close to the university. The air was fresh, and the surroundings were clean, so I was sure the university's maintenance had reached this area. I sat on a tree stump and closed my eyes.

I started thinking about how I could ask for help with my abilities. Should I tell Aunt Avery? I shook my head, knowing she would tell Mom and Dad for sure.

I suddenly opened my eyes when I heard a rustling sound. I looked around, and my eyes widened when I saw a rogue. It looked at me with such hunger, drooling as if it wanted to eat me.

I tried to calm myself and slowly backed away, but it growled when it saw that, so I froze. I saw it slowly move towards me. I was about to try and read its mind, but it suddenly jumped. I thought that was the end for me, but then someone's hands grabbed me while a wolf leaped at the rogue.

I had been training, but I realized my idea was wrong in that situation. I should have defended myself first instead of trying to read its mind. Also, it was a reckless move because I knew what would happen if I tried to do that.

"Are you okay?" asked the man who saved me. I nodded before looking at the huge black-was that a Lycan?

It disappeared from my sight, but after a few moments, while the man who grabbed me was talking to me, another man appeared, wearing only cargo shorts and no shirt.

"Alpha," the guy beside me said.

"Is he the one that-?" I asked, and the guy nodded as I looked again at the black Lycan from earlier.

"Why are you here alone? Don't you know it's dangerous for someone like you in this area?" asked the Alpha angrily. I couldn't speak because I was mesmerized by his voice and looks. He was so handsome, and his body was amazing.

"Don't scare her, Alpha," said the guy beside me.

"Shut up, Adrian!" He was really mad.

"I'm sorry, please don't be mad at him," I said. It was embarrassing that the guy was getting involved in the Alpha's anger at me. "I just didn't expect there to be rogues here. Since the university is nearby, I thought this place would be safe."

"Adrian, take the rogue."

"Yes, Alpha." Adrian, the guy who helped me, had no choice. Well, there were actually two of them since this Alpha was the one who took down the rogue.

"Ahm, Adrian," I called out, making him look back at me. "Thank you again."

"You're welcome-" he said.

"Aliyah," I said, making him smile at me before replying.

"You're welcome, Aliyah." Then he turned and followed his Alpha, whom I was now watching.

"Thank you, A-Alpha-" Since I was a princess, it was difficult for me to bow to him, but I had to do it if I didn't want him to find out who I was.

"Xavier, I'm Alpha Xavier Bloodworth." I nodded before repeating his name. Then he held out his hand, and I hesitantly took it.

I quickly pulled my hand away when I felt a kind of electric shock run through me from him, and my eyes widened as I looked at him.

"What was that?" I asked in surprise.

"In the future, don't go to places like this, especially alone. It's not safe for a human like you to wander around."

I couldn't say anything, so I nodded as he walked away. I didn't notice that his beta, Adrian, had also left, along with the rogue who was ready to attack me earlier.

I returned to school, but my mind was still on that Alpha. I've never been attracted to the opposite sex, but why did I feel differently about Xavier? Why did I feel something when we shook hands?

Chapter 3 Two

Aliyah

Three days have passed since that incident, and I haven't seen Xavier or Adrian again. Maybe it was just a coincidence that they were there, which I'm thankful for because if they hadn't been, the palace would probably be mourning because of me.

"Okay, class, listen." I suddenly looked at our P.E. professor, glancing around the class before she continued. "In a week, we'll have a small competition. Since physical strength will be needed, it will be divided into two categories: one for the supernatural and one for the humans."

The students began whispering. Some were nervous, while others were excited. "Even though the categories are separate, you will still fight, and there's a chance someone might get hurt. We need to ensure, especially for humans, that we can fight. So that, no matter what happens, you can protect yourselves."

"Like a fighting tournament?" asked one of my male classmates, who I was sure was a wolf.

"Yes, but even though it's a fighting tournament and there's a chance of getting hurt, you can still back out if you want. But you should know that if you do, you'll have to undergo one hour of after-class training for the rest of the semester."

"Oh no, I don't like getting hurt," one of our female classmates said, and the rest laughed. Our professor explained more details before finally dismissing the class.

"Hi, Aliyah," greeted one of my classmates, who I knew was the new varsity player at the university. He was already a star player in his previous senior high school, so it was easy for him to join the basketball team.

"Hi," I responded softly since I'm not really one to talk much. It's not that I look down on them; I'm just used to talking to people I've known for a long time.

"Are you joining the competition too?" I nodded at him, and he nodded back. "If you need a partner for training or practice, you can tell me. I'll be happy to help you out."

"Thanks a lot, Miles, but I have a friend willing to do that as well," I replied with a smile. I didn't want him to think I was being snobbish.

"Is that so?" I smiled at him again and nodded before picking up my things.

"Bye," I said, then left the classroom. Janice waited for me since we had already agreed to have lunch together. I turned down Miles because I knew I could fight. Besides, if I ever need a sparring partner, I don't need to look far because my friend is always there to partner with me.

Janice and I were in the canteen, chatting while eating, when a group of students sat at the table next to ours. We wouldn't have paid attention to them, but their voices were so loud that they seemed to be letting everyone hear their conversation.

"You know what, Stelle, I think Alpha Xavier will choose you as his mate," one of them said.

The spoon I was about to bring to my mouth froze mid-air when I heard that name.

"I don't want to get my hopes up, but Alpha Xavier still doesn't have a mate. That's why my dad thinks maybe he's already found his mate but rejected her for me," Stelle responded.

Janice and I exchanged glances, and I noticed her raising an eyebrow, causing me to frown. Why does she seem irritated by what the girl said? Does she know the Alpha Xavier they're talking about? Is he the same Alpha Xavier I met and who saved me?

"Eat already!" I just told Janice, who was still pouting, before she started eating again.

"Wow, you're going to be the Luna of the Howlers Pack!" exclaimed one of their friends. Did I hear that right, Howlers Pack?

"Hey, you guys better stop fantasizing about our Alpha and spreading that kind of news because we will never let your friend Stelle become our Luna." Janice and I turned to look at the new girl who just arrived.

"It's not like that, Chloe." The girl named Stelle spoke softly and bowed her head, but I felt like it was just an act.

"Wow, if it's not like that, why are you letting your friends shout about it?"

"Is it wrong to be happy and excited for our friend?" snapped another girl.

"That's not excitement. You guys just want everyone to hear your conversation. Well, let me tell you this: your friend won't succeed in fooling our Alpha because there's no fool in the Howlers Pack."

With that, the girl named Chloe turned her back on them. Our eyes met, and I was surprised when she smiled at me before sitting next to Janice, who was across from me.

"Hi, I'm Chloe." She extended her hand, which Janice and I shook before introducing ourselves. She was very friendly, considering we had just met. I was okay with it because I discovered her Alpha was the same Alpha who saved me. Why? Because she's Adrian's younger sister.

We were all first-year students, and like Janice, her course was also business administration. She was in a different section, so she and my best friend didn't know each other. Their classes were simultaneously, and I felt a bit jealous.

"Don't worry, Yay, we'll always wait for you." I smiled after Janice assured me, and Chloe agreed with her.

"Wait, do you guys know about the tournament?" Chloe asked, and I nodded. We looked at Janice, and she nodded, too.

"Do you want to come to our pack and train there?" Janice and I exchanged glances because of what our new friend said. "It's okay if you don't want to, I understand." She smiled, but I could still see the sadness on her face.

"It feels awkward because we've only just met, and we're already going to your place." I didn't like seeing the sadness on her face, so that's what I said.

"I understand. Besides, except for Stelle, no one really wants to come to our pack because, you know, our pack is a haven of former rogues who fought against the palace, so it's natural for people to be scared."

"Oh no, it's not like that!" Janice quickly blurted out. "It's just really embarrassing."

"Really?" Chloe asked, and Janice and I nodded at her. "So you'll come visit us? I promise you'll enjoy it, and we'll learn things for the tournament."

Since we couldn't back out, my best friend and I agreed. Chloe was so happy, and I thought maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

Now I'm thinking about meeting Xavier again, if ever. I felt excitement, nervousness, and fear, especially knowing that the Howlers Pack, where we'll be going, used to be led by my biological grandparents and is now a pack of former rogues.
