Chapter 1 One

Laura POV

"Laura, are you ever going to tell them about me," Luther asks me as he picks the petals of a flower and lets the petals blow in the wind.

I touch his scruffy face and let my fingers brush through his long dark hair. "I will someday, but not today," I say with a sweet smile.

Luther lets the petal-less flower go and rolls over on top of me. "Someday soon, I want to marry you. I love you, Laura. You are my fairy princess," Luther says.

I kiss Luther deeply and passionately as we tumble in the grass. "How long can you stay with me today?" I ask him. "As long as you want me here or until one of the faes spots me," Luther says, laughing.

"You know you scare them," I say. Being with Luther on a grassy hill laughing and picking flowers, is heaven to me. There is no other place on earth I would rather be than with him, but telling my family and my tribe that I am not only in love with a wolf but also the soon-to-be Alpha will not go over well.

"We cannot do this forever, Laura; someday, you have to leave here and come with me," Luther says.

"I will, I promise you, I will be your mate," I say.

Luther leans into me, "Say that again,"

I laugh as he kisses my cheeks and neck. "Say what, Alpha?" I ask him. I know what he wants to hear. "Say you will be my mate, Laura Angel. I want to hear you say it again," Luther says, smiling.

"I will be your mate, Alpha," I say.

"The wolves will accept you and your tribe. Your family should see it as personal security for the tribe forever," Luther says.

"Nothing bad ever happens here; we do not need protection. I know someday they will accept you, but Luther, I need time to tell them," I say.

"I will give you time, Laura. I can wait for you," Luther says.

Luther takes my hand and helps me to my feet. We walk in the high grass when one of the tiniest of my kind flutters by us. "I am going to tell, Laura Angel," she says and flutters away.

"Do you want me to catch her and rough her up a little," Luther says. I smack him on the arm.

"No, she will not say anything. Those little pests like to tease, but they will not say anything," I say to him.

We walk toward the edge of his world and mine. The end of the grass where his woods begin and my tribe land ends, to the place I met him and the place we fell in love, the place a scared little fairy saw the big bad wolf for the first time.

"Are you leaving me already?" I ask him.

"No, I have a surprise for you; that is all unless you are afraid? Keep walking toward the trees," Luther says.

"I am never afraid," I say.

We walk until we finally reach the edge of my tribe's land. The woods look dark and scary to me, but someday I will call it home. A home with Luther and his pack, but these secret meetings are all I have with him until then.

"Are you ready?" Luther asks me.

His long dark hair blowing in the wind, tiny flowers nestled in his hair from picking the petals off of flowers. I love looking at him and listening to him, just being with him.

"You are not planning to kidnap me, are you? You know the fae can be spiteful little creatures?" I ask him.

"No, but don't be mad," Luther says.

I look to the woods and see three majestic beasts coming toward me. I have only seen Luther in his wolf form a handful of times. I am in awe of these creatures walking out of the woods toward me.

"Laura Angel, these wolves are my family. Silas and Drake, my younger brothers, and my mother Selena, my father is ill, and he could not come with them today," Luther says.

The white wolf walks slowly toward me, and I touch her head. Her eyes are ice blue, and she is beautiful. Drake and Silas are both dark brown wolves with ice blue eyes. They play around and finally come over to meet me.

"We are all honored to meet you, Laura finally," Selena says.

As the brothers play and run around in the grass, the tiny fae comes back, and she brought company. They surround the brothers and start teasing them. They fly under them and poke at them.

"Do you want me to make them stop?" I ask Luther.

"No, I am happy to see them pick on someone besides me," Luther says.

"I am honored to meet you, Selena. I do not venture into your part of the woods," I say. She shifts back into her human form in front of me. She is beautiful. Her long white hair matches the fur that her wolf adorns. Her eyes, ice blue, are piercing as she speaks to me.

"I know, I come with a formal invite for you and your family to have dinner with us tomorrow night, it is a celebration, and we want you to be there. You, Laura, are our future. As future Luna, it is time you step up and take your place; it is time to tell your family. I cannot condone this sneaking around anymore; it has to stop. Luther is taking his place as Alpha, and you should be by his side," Selena says.

"Mother, this is not the way," Luther says. He looks back at me. He was not expecting her to scold me, but she is right; this has to stop.

"I am sorry, Laura," Luther says.

I touch his arm so gently. "She is right, Luther. I have to tell them. I will extend the invitation, and we will tell them together," I say.

Luther pulls me into his arms and holds me. "I love you, Laura," Luther says.

"I love you, too, Alpha," I say.

Luther kisses me sweetly on the lips. His brothers enjoy this moment with endless taunts as Luther takes his wolf form and follows his family out of the woods. As Selena gets to the tribe's land edge, she turns to look at me. Her ice-blue eyes seem to tell me that it will be okay. Easy for her to think, she has never met my parents-the king and queen of the tribe.

Chapter 2 Two

Alpha Luther

I leave my precious Laura and return with my family to prepare for the celebration tonight. Tonight I take my place permanently as Alpha. My ailing father can no longer continue his role with the pack, and it is up to me to continue his legacy.

My mother insisted we invite Laura and her family to the celebration. She wants to see Laura and I together, but she does not condone the sneaking around and hiding the relationship. She does not think it is good for the pack or the relations with the fairy tribe for me to sneak around with Laura. It is time to come clean and endure the consequences of our relationship.

We run to the house, and the four of us, my mother, both of my younger brothers, and I settle on the porch-my mother motions for me to sit with her. I sit beside her.

"Son, it is important that you and Laura are honest about this relationship and make a decision. The alpha of this pack cannot be having a secret love affair with a neighboring tribe. It could cause problems in the long run," my mother says to me.

I lean back in my chair. "I know, mother, I only wanted to give her time to tell her parents, that is all," I say.

"How long has this been going on? I believe she has had plenty of time to fess up; tonight is the night or lets her go," my mother says.

"I will never let her go, and I love her. I want her with me, here," I say.

"I have no doubt you love her, but does she love you enough to leave her tribe and take her place as your Luna? You need her here with you, or you need to let her go. If she doesn't love you enough to be with you, then you are only hurting yourself, not to mention the pain it will cause the pack. Take charge, Alpha. Be the Alpha; I expect more from you than this sneaking around," my mother says.

"I will do what is necessary for the pack, no worries, mother," I say.

"The pack will accept her if that is a worry of her family. A fairy and a wolf would make powerful hybrids to protect the pack," my mother says.

"I am aware of what we could produce, but that is not why I am in love with her. I am in love with her because she is so innocent and sweet, unlike this wild bunch here," I say.

"Love her or not, tonight is the night. If she does not accept your offer, you must choose another Luna," my mother says.

I get up from my chair and return to my wolf form. I go for a run in the woods. The same woods I met a scared little fairy so many years ago. The day I fell in love with her and knew she was my mate. Our connection was instant. It was unreal and almost seemed fated.

I run as fast as I can back to the edge of the woods. I should be at the house preparing for tonight, but I need just one more glimpse into the fairy tribe land just in case she chooses her tribe over me.

Surely she will choose me. She promised to be mine and love me. She is everything to me. I cannot live without her. I hear paws coming up fast behind me. I turn to see my brother.

"You need to get back to the house. We have to prepare for tonight. Just think tonight is the last night mother can boss you around, Alpha," Drake says as she turns and runs back to the house.

"I am not Alpha yet," I yell at my brother.

I look out to the green grass of the fairy tribe and smile. I love you, Laura Angel. Soon you will be mine, forever. I will have you with me in my pack and in my bed, Laura Angel.

I run back to the house. I am sure my mother is fuming. She should enjoy her last few hours as head of the pack until I take over at midnight. There will be a lot of changes that take place tomorrow. I hope Laura, as my Luna is one of the changes. I will not choose another.

As I run back to the house, I see a lone wolf running in the woods. Occasionally there are a few rogues that pass through our land. They never cause any problems, and we do not give them any either. As long as they keep moving, I am okay with them passing through our woods to their next destination.

I watch him for a moment, and he seems to be watching me too. He is probably afraid I am going to go after him. I really do not have time to fight anyone right now. I have a mother to piss off and the love of my life to get ready for right now. After a moment, he starts moving faster. I turn and run toward the house.

"Are you done with your tantrum," my mother asks as I run upon the porch?

"Watch it, old woman, I might be your son, but I am also your Alpha," I say to her, laughing.

"Enjoy it, son. After midnight there will be no time for games and nonsense. You will take all these responsibilities I have been covering for your father, and let me tell you something, son, and this old woman is ready to give it all to you, Alpha," my mother says to me.

"Good, then you will stop interfering in my love life, too. Surely you can meddle in Drake and Silas's love life for a while and let mine alone," I say as I go into the house.

I have to prepare myself for taking over as the Alpha. I need to spend time with my father before the ceremony. Maybe he can help me handle his Luna until midnight.

Chapter 3 Three

Laura POV

I leave Luther and walk back to our small castle in the middle of the fairy tribe lands. The small tinks follow me and tease me as I walk back to tell my parents about the invites.

"Did you kiss him, Laura?" one of the tinks jokes with me.

"Go away!" I scream at the annoying little creature.

I walk into the castle, looking for my parents. My mother is out on the back patio; I can see her through the large french doors. I rush out to speak with her, not knowing my father is also out there with her. I wanted to get her alone for this discussion, but that is not going to be the case.

"Mother, I need to talk to you; it is very important," I say to her.

"What is it, my dear daughter," my father answers me. I really did not want to do this with him first.

"We have an invitation to a celebration for the new Alpha. We are all invited to attend tonight's gathering," I spit it all out in one breath.

"Why would we go to that?" my father asks.

I walk over to father. "Because father, we should be friends with the wolves; you never know when we might need their help; besides, it will be fun," I say joyfully.

"Fun, like I have time for fun," my father says.

"Honey, who invited us?" my mother asks.

"The luna of the pack, she saw me at the forest edge and invited me. I really want to go," I say to my mother.

My mother smiles and waves me away. She will get my father to say yes. He cannot say no to her. That is why I will tell her about Luther first. There has to be a way for Luther and me to be together without tearing my family apart.

She is not going to like that I am in love with a wolf. I cannot help it. Luther makes me feel things I never knew were even possible. The way he kisses me touches me and makes my body ache for him. I have a feeling that if I do not commit to him sooner, I will lose him forever. I cannot stand the thought of him with another. I want to be his wife, his luna, and the mother of his children.

No matter what happens tonight, I am going to say yes to him and be his wife. I will give myself to him completely tonight in every way I can. After the celebration, I will give him my body.

I realize my life is about to change. Life here with the fairies is so different than living with a wolf pack. I know things will be difficult, but this is what I want. I love him no matter the obstacle.

I go upstairs to look for something to wear tonight. If my father says no, I am still going to be with Luther tonight. I go into my room and start going through my closet. I finally find a long purple dress. It will be beautiful with my wings on display.

I lay out the long dress and search for the perfect purple shoes to wear with it. I want to adorn my hair with purple flowers and maybe a few blue and pink ones. I want to be beautiful for Luther tonight. Not only for when we announce our marriage but for the moment, I have him alone and give him my body for the first time tonight.

As I go into the bathroom to shower and wash my hair and wings, I hear a knock on my bedroom door. My mother comes into the room to check on me.

"Laura, we need to talk," my mother says.

"Yes, my queen," I reply.

"I know about you and the wolf. It is not something I wanted for you, but I can live with it. However, it will not go over well with your father. I have convinced him to go to the celebration tonight. I know you are planning to marry this wolf, and I will try my best to contain your father, but give him time after you tell him. Everything will work out, but you do know that once you surrender your crown, then it is over. Keep that in mind," my mother says.

"How did you know, my queen?" I ask her.

"Laura, my little princess, there are a lot of little tinks with enormous mouths," my mother says, laughing.

"Yes, those little meddling bit.. I mean those little things," I say.

"Watch it; just because you are tangled up with a wolf does not mean you should act or talk like one," my mother says.

"Sorry, mother, I should have known they would tell on me," I say to her.

"Yeah, well, they did, at least to me, not your father. Even the tinks are scared of him for you," my mother says to me.

My mother looks over the dress and shoes I have picked out. "I have a beautiful veil you can wear with this; I will bring it to you and help you put it on," my mother says.

"Thank you," I say to her.

I hug her and kiss her cheek. "Make sure this is what you want before you make this leap. There is no turning back once you join the wolf pack, my dear daughter," my mother says.

"I know. I love him," I say to her.

"Do you? Do you know anything about him other than rolling in the grass and laughing? There is so much more to a relationship and love. How will you handle all of that? There is a home and children to care for; there is more to marriage than laughing and picking flowers," my mother says to me.

"I know that, my queen. I love him, and I want to be with him. I have thought about everything. I do not want to leave my tribe, but I know it is the best thing for Luther and me," I say to her.

"Very well, I will be back to help you get dressed," my mother says.

She leaves me to shower and prepare for the night. I am excited and nervous, but I know this is the right thing for Luther and me. I know loving a wolf will come with challenges, but I am prepared for all of it.
