I laid on the bare ground of the cell where I was locked up. The cell was so dark and cold. I can't tell exactly how long I've been here, but it's up to a week. Time seemed to have stopped ever since I was locked in this cell. My name is Rachel Weston, and I'm the daughter of the Powerful Alpha of the Dark clad pack. All my life, I was treated like a princess.
I was feared and respected by all. No one dared to stare at me twice. My words and that of my father were law. No one dares to walk in a path that I walk through, my father made sure of that
I gulped hard... my throat was dry, and my stomach was growling of hunger. Without hesitation, I licked my mouth as drops of water from the leaking roof dropped into my mouth.
Ever since I was locked up, I haven't set my eyes on my captor. The last time I saw him was when the battle began on my 18th birthday party. That was the worst birthday of my life. I wasn't granted a wolf, and that turned out to be a disastrous experience. As a powerful Alpha's daughter, a very grand party was thrown in celebration of my birthday. I waited the whole day for the Moon Goddess to grant me my wolf, but it didn't come. Instead of merriment, my party turned into a battlefield. I really can't remember what happened, but I knew I was hit on the head and I passed out.
Waking up, I saw myself in this empty, cold cell. I can't tell what happened or where my father, the Alpha of the Dark clad pack or my pack members are, but I knew that we were defeated.
Never in my life have I felt so much fear until the day of my 18th birthday, it will forever remain a terrible nightmare for me.
The sounds of footsteps and chain clanking drew my attention to the door of the cell. The door was opened, and two bodyguards walked into the cell. One of them had a tray of food in his hand. They glared at me as though if their eyes were guns, I would have been dead.
"Breakfast is served, your highness." He mocked me as he dropped the tray on the ground beside me.
I glanced at the plate. It was a small piece of dried stale bread and mashed potatoes. Not like I had a choice anyway because I was starving.
"Look at her, who would have that. The Alpha's daughter is now a slave." The other bodyguard spoke with contempt.
I couldn't say a word, I only stared at them like a dummy.
They continued. "Let me tell you some good news. Alpha Kyle is throwing a feast tonight to celebrate. So, you better eat up cause ain't no one coming to feed you tonight."
"How does it feel, huh? Remember when we were your slaves, and we couldn't attend any celebration feasts and had to starve?" The other bodyguard spat at me.
Suddenly, my eyes grew with curiosity, and I quickly inquired. "Wait... Alpha Kyle?"
"What?" The first bodyguard laughed, and tapped the other guard. "This slave still doesn't know." They burst into laughter, leaving me confused.
Bending over to me, he answered. "Alpha Kyle killed your father. He's now the new Alpha of both the Dark clad Pack and the Silver crust Pack".
Tears clouded my eyes, and gradually rolled down my cheeks. I quickly grabbed his hand and pleaded. "No. I won't believe that. He wouldn't do that. Take me to him, please. I need to talk to him."
"Get your dirty hands off me." The guard slapped me, and I fell on the hard floor.
"Talk to the Alpha? You still think you're some important shit, huh?" He growled at me, and continued. "No, Rachel. You're no longer a princess. Even an omega is worth more than you. You're a nobody now."
"Come on, let's go. We still got some preparation for tonight's celebration feast." The other bodyguard urged him.
"Who gave you the permission to lay your hand on my slave?" The domineering, cold voice from behind made me panic.
I couldn't see his face properly because of how dark the cell was. However, he walked closer, and my eyes grew in astonishment. It was him... Kyle. The son of the Silver crust Alpha who my father killed and took over his pack. I've always liked him, and I thought he had a crush on me too.
"Alpha Kyle, I'm sorry. It won't happen again." The bodyguard who had slapped me apologized with his head bowed.
Then, he growled at him. "I specifically said, no one touches her!"
His Alpha aura overshadowed them, and they went on their knees immediately.
"I didn't do anything to her, my Alpha." The other bodyguard confessed immediately.
"You." He pointed at the bodyguard who slapped me. "Go find Beta Logan to collect 20 strokes for disobeying your Alpha. Do you accept your punishment?" He bluntly asked.
Without hesitation, the bodyguard nodded in agreement. "Yes, Alpha. I accept."
Alpha Kyle then raised his left hand, gesturing them to leave, and they walked out of the cell immediately.
Then, he approached me with the coldest glare. "From this day onwards, Rachel Weston, you'll be my slave. No one will hurt you except for me."
Blinking back the hot tears that were about to roll down my face, I asked. "Why? Why did you do this?"
I could see him shaking with anger and hatred as he glared at me. "Your father slaughtered my entire family... my father, my mother, my only sister and my older brother. He enslaved my pack, and turned the she-wolves into breeder and had them raped. And you're asking me why I did this?"
Summoning courage, I reached out for his wrist, and continued. "I.... I thought..."
He slapped off my hand, and roared at me. "You thought what? You thought just because I was so young when it happened, I wouldn't recall? Or did you think I actually liked you?"
Before I could say a word, he grabbed my neck, making me gasp for breath because of how hard he gripped me. His nails were piercing into my flesh, and that hurt so bad.
"I never liked you, Rachel. I despise you with every drop of blood in my veins." He spoke in between gritted teeth as he let go of my neck, and I fell on the ground, coughing helplessly.
He only stood there, staring at me while I coughed. After a few seconds, I looked up to him from where I sat, and asked. "If this is true that you don't like me, and since you seek revenge, then why didn't you kill me too."
"Kill you? Your father is already dead, Rachel. What's the fun if I kill you too?" He scoffed at me.
"If you don't kill, then what do you want from me?" I burst into tears.
"Revenge... Atonement! I am going to do to you what your father did to me and my pack. And when I'm done with you, you'll wish you were dead."
His words brought cold shivers down my spine. Even tears refused to come out of my eyes, I only stared at him with despair.
"Rhoda!" He shouted, and she rushed into the cell, and bowed at him.
"Alpha?"
"Take this slave, and clean her up thoroughly." He ordered.
"Yes, Alpha." She replied as he stormed out of the cell.
I turned my gaze to Rhoda, who was standing in front of me. I was already shaking with fear. Furthermore, I know Kyle, and he meant every single word he said to me.
"Come with me, Miss Weston." Rhoda calmly said.
"Where are you taking me? Why do I need to be cleaned thoroughly." I squinted my eyes.
Walking closer to me, she replied. "Miss Weston, I have direct orders to clean you up and escort you to the Alpha's chambers tonight. I am just doing my job."
"What? To the Alpha's chambers?" I freaked out.
I had no choice anyway than to comply with what Alpha Kyle ordered. Without any further questions, I got up from the ground and followed Rhoda out of the cell.
We walked down the hallway, and since it was my first time, I kept glancing around the whole place. She led me into one of the rooms, and the moment we walked into the bathroom, the bathtub was filled with water and petals sprinkled on it.
She gestured for me to enter the bathtub, which I did without questions. The water in the bathtub was foamy and warm. I haven't taken a bath in the longest time, and this was like a dream come true.
Rhoda scrubbed my back gently with the bath sponge while I stared into the blank air, lost in thoughts.
What would Alpha Kyle do to me when I go to the Alpha's bedroom?
After the bath, I was given a white floral dress to wear, and Rhoda packed my hair into a ponytail. Most importantly, I put on my rhinestone plated necklace... which was a gift from my father, and the only valuable thing I own at the moment.
"This will do, Miss Weston." She nodded in satisfaction when I was done dressing. "Follow me."
"Call me Rachel." I snapped at her with a faint smile.
"Alright." She replied, and turned to leave, but I held her wrist gently.
"Wait, Rhoda. May I ask you a question before we go?" I inquired.
With reluctance, she mumbled. "You may."
"Avery... is she okay? I remember she got shot and was taken away before I passed out. I don't know what happened to her." I asked with pleading eyes.
"She's being taken care of. Not to worry." She simply answered.
Heaving a sigh of relief, I gulped hard. "Thank you, Moon Goddess. Thank you."
Avery, she's my best friend and person made. She was the only sister I had. We partially grew up together. On the night that my pack was conquered, she was with me while I was getting dolled up for the party.
We were already done with my makeup and I fitted perfectly into my white, luxurious ball gown when we heard gunshots. I was startled... What could be wrong on my big day?
Actually, it was Imelda who served my father a cup of coffee... she spiked the coffee, making him weak and powerless.
As soon as we heard the gunshot, Avery asked me to stay in the room while she checked what was going on. I was restless, and tried calling my father on the landline, but he wasn't picking.
I couldn't wait anymore, so I stepped out of the room to see for myself what was wrong. The moment I stepped into the big sitting room, I saw my father coughing blood. He looked up at me with the saddest smile... he was about to give up, but that didn't stop him from smiling at me.
"C.... Child, run!" He managed to say.
Imelda walked in with a malicious smile on her face. She smirked coldly, pointing a gun at me. "Alpha Dane, I want you to watch me blow your precious daughter's skull off with a wolf's bane bullet."
"No... No, don't." My father tried to get to it, but he ended up spitting out more blood.
Without remorse, Imelda pulled the trigger and I shot my eyes tight to receive the shot. However, someone stepped in front of me, and took the bullet.
I quickly opened my eyes, and saw Avery lying on the ground in front of me, bleeding profusely. She was shot on my shoulder... she had taken the gunshot for me.
I let out a heart-wrenching sob, and bent over to her. Before I could say another word, I felt a sharp pain. A gun was hit on my forehead, I fell and lost consciousness.
"Can I see her, please?" I asked anxiously.
"I'm afraid not. Just worry about yourself first, Rachel. We don't have time to waste. Come on, let's go." She urged me, and I nodded my head and followed her.
We were halfway to the Alpha's chamber when she blocked us from entering the room. Her name is Imelda Taylor.... She hates me so much, and I can see it in her vicious eyes.
"Rhoda, where the f·ck are you taking this stinker to? The feast is about to start. Rachel is a slave, she cannot attend the celebration." She glared horribly at me.
"Miss Taylor, if I recall correctly, a week ago you, you were also a slave. Are we quick to oppress others?" Rhoda said in the calmest manner.
Clenching her fist tight, Imelda blurted at her. "What did you just say to me, Rhoda?"
"Anyway, I'm not taking her to the feast. I have direct orders from the Alpha to take her to his room. Now if you'll excuse us..." Rhoda turned to me. "Rachel, please."
Imelda scoffed in disbelief. "No. Kyle would not do that."
"This has nothing to do with you, Miss Taylor. What the Alpha does, or what he doesn't, shouldn't be your concern. He can choose to do whatever he likes." Rhoda fired back at her.
With that, she walked past Imelda, and I followed suit. Memories flashed back into my head. On the eve of my birthday party, I knew slaves were not allowed to attend, so I had the baker bake a special cake to deliver to the slaves.
I saw smiles on their faces when the cake was presented to them. To be precise, I had the cake delivered by myself and to Kyle because I liked him a lot.
Even though my father was cruel and unkind to the slaves, I always found a way to stand up for them... make it up to them.
I never thought that on that day, my father was going to die, and I would be left in the mercy of Kyle, who I liked, and thought he would like me back.
On the night of my birthday party, we were supposed to meet on the balcony. He was the man of my dreams. Even though Kyle was a slave to my pack, I didn't see any less of him. Avery tried to stop me from dreaming of being together with him, but I blatantly refused to oblige with her.
The night of my supposed meeting with Kyle before I could go to my banquet, Avery, my best friend and personal servant, was shot right in front of me. All I saw was dead people in the pool of their blood.
With the way Imelda glared at me, I knew for a fact that she loathes me, and I wondered why. There has never been a day that I was mean to her when she was still a slave in my pack house.
I could recall vividly that she mistakenly broke an expensive vase on one occasion, and that nearly cost her life.
My father was so furious at her that he gave orders for her to be beheaded.
Luckily for her, I was present. On her behalf, I pleaded with my father to spare her life, and if she must be punished, she should be given another punishment asides death.
Now, she couldn't wait to maltreat me. I really don't blame her. My father started all of this.
The Alpha's room was magnificent and luxurious. I kept staring around the room immediately Rhoda and I walked in.
At that time, Alpha Kyle wasn't in the room. Of course, he was at the feast celebration, and I was expected to sit and wait for him.
"Miss Weston... I mean, Rachel. You have to sit here, and wait for the Alpha." Rhoda said softly to me, and I nodded my head as she walked out of the room.
Thoughts kept running through my mind. I was so afraid... Who knows what Kyle would do to me when he comes back into the room?
Then, I thought of escaping, but that's absolutely pointless. At the entrance of the chamber, two bodyguards stood on the two sides of the door.
These people hate me so much. If I try to do anything suspicious, they'll definitely kill me, and lie to the Alpha that they were defending themselves.
"Dang! How do I get out of this? How do I get to see Avery?" I lamented as I sat on the couch beside the large bed.
My eyes went straight to the opened window, and my face beamed with a smile. I have to escape first, and then come back for Avery because I was very sure they wouldn't hurt her. She's not the daughter of their enemy... I am.
Without hesitation, I got up from the couch and walked straight to the window. It was wide open, but it wasn't a downstairs house.
A thought got into my head, and I quickly rushed to the bed and took out the bed cover. It was large, and I thought it would be of good use to me.
Immediately, I tied it to the edge of the window. I had it fastened as tight as I could and then said some silent prayers.
"They're all busy with the feast celebration. I bet the security will not be too much." I thought to myself.
Likewise, I climbed over the window, and gripped the bed cover as I climbed through it as gently as I could. Likewise, I just hoped that the bed cover wouldn't loosen from the edge of the window that I had tied it to.
Furthermore, I was halfway to the ground when the bed cover loosened, and I fell on the ground.
I almost let out a sob, but I quickly remembered that I was actually escaping, and shouldn't create a scene. I groaned quietly, and tried to stand up, but I couldn't.
My ankle was twisted, and I had no wolf. How would I escape from here when I can't even get up on my own?
After sobbing for a while, I managed to get up, but I was just limping. I need to get the hell out of this place before I get caught.
With that, I limped towards the gate, but there were bodyguards at the entrance. Even with the feast celebration, the security was still tight.
Then, I thought of climbing over the not too tall fence, but then again, my ankle was twisted. I just have to try... it's better to die trying, right?
Just when I was trying to climb the fence, I heard a cold voice behind me.
"Where do you think you're going?"
My heart sank, and I couldn't hold on anymore, so I fell again from the fence. My ankle was already twisted, and the fall seemed to have added to my pain. I winced in severe pain.
I managed to raise my eyes, and there was no other one but Alpha Kyle, glaring at me fiercely, and that made my heart race even faster.
"What do you take me for, Rachel? What makes you think that you can actually escape from me?" He asked with annoyance.
I opened my mouth to speak, but ended up closing my mouth again... I had absolutely nothing to say.
"Get up!" He ordered.
"I.... I can't. I..." I stuttered.
Without even letting me say another word, he quickly carried me up from the ground. I struggled to let him drop me, but even with all my struggles, he didn't bulge.
He walked into the mansion, still carrying me in a bridal style. All eyes were on me... I haven't felt this embarrassed in my entire life.
He got to the room, and walked in, then threw me carelessly on the bed. My heart was racing so fast at this point. The closer he came to the bed, the more I kept drawing backwards to the other side of the bed.
"Do you know why I brought you back here?" He asked with an expressionless voice.
I wanted to ignore him, but I just thought that would make him more furious. "No, I don't." I mumbled, but he heard me anyway.
"You've always liked me, haven't you? Isn't this what you've wanted?" He sounded sarcastic.
"Not anymore. All I feel for you is hatred. Not after what you've done." I spoke with so much passion.
That actually triggered him. "Liar!" He roared at me, and pounced on me, holding my two hands hostage.
"Kyle, let go of me." I struggled to get his grip free from my wrist because it was so tight.
"You do not get to call me by my name. I am your Alpha, and you should call me that. I am the law around here, and you have no choice than to obey me." He let go of one of my hands as he held my neck.
My hand reached for the fork on the side table of the bed, and I quickly grabbed it.
"I'd rather die than obey you." I groaned as I stuck the fork into his arm.
Letting off me, he held the fork that was still stuck on his left arm. Groaning in pain, he pulled the fork out of his arm, and blood stained his white shirt, while I was panting heavily.
Then a thought got into my head. "How could I be so thoughtless? Kyle is the Alpha. He'll definitely heal with his powerful wolf." I thought as I bit my lower lip hard.
His eyeballs turned red, and he grabbed my neck fiercely. "The only thing you obtained by doing that is getting me so mad."
