At Lunar Crest Academy, nothing is as it seems. Hidden deep within the Blackthorn Mountains, this elite boarding school is a sanctuary for the supernatural-a place where werewolves and vampires walk the same halls, bound by an uneasy truce that could shatter at any moment. In this world of power and bloodlines, Kael Blackwood stands at the top. As the Alpha of the strongest werewolf pack, he is ruthless, untouchable, and feared by all. No one dares to challenge his rule-until Aria Monroe, a mysterious scholarship student, unknowingly breaks every unspoken law. Aria has spent her life in the shadows, knowing she doesn't belong. She is human... or so she thought. When she accidentally saves Kael's life, she becomes entangled in a deadly web of secrets, one that marks her as the key to an ancient prophecy-a prophecy that could change the balance of power forever. But Kael isn't the only one drawn to her. Enter Lucian Draven, the alluring and dangerous vampire prince. With his hypnotic gaze and a smirk that hides a thousand deadly secrets, he claims Aria as his own, bound to him by fate itself. He warns her that her very existence is a threat, that the forces hunting her will stop at nothing to see her destroyed. Yet, Aria isn't sure who is more dangerous-the enemies lurking in the dark or the vampire who watches her like she is his greatest obsession. As rivalries reignite and forbidden desires awaken, Aria is caught in the middle of a war centuries in the making. The werewolves want her, the vampires want to claim her, and the shadows whisper that she is something else entirely-something no one is ready for. With Kael's possessive fury and Lucian's seductive pull, Aria must uncover the truth about herself before it's too late. Because at Lunar Crest, secrets don't stay buried, destiny is written in blood, and love might just be the most dangerous weapon of all. A dark, enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance filled with forbidden attraction, supernatural war, and an unraveling prophecy that could either save or doom them all.

Chapter 1 The New Girl

The crisp autumn air carried a scent of pine and something... darker. Ravenwood Academy loomed ahead, its gothic towers casting long shadows against the twilight sky.

Aria Sinclair tightened her grip on her backpack, her pulse quickening as she stepped through the wrought-iron gates. The school felt different-alivein a way that made her skin prickle. She wasn't supposed to be here.

She didn't want to be here.

But fate had other plans.

A few students turned as she walked through the stone-paved courtyard, their gazes lingering longer than necessary. Some whispered, some smirked, and others... just stared.

She ignored them. Blend in. Stay quiet. That was the plan.

Aria found her locker in the west wing, fingers fumbling with the combination lock. Then-

"You don't belong here."

The voice was low, commanding.

Aria turned, her breath hitching.

A boy leaned lazily against the lockers, arms crossed over a broad chest. Dark hair. Golden eyes. A presence so intense it was almost suffocating.

"And you are?" she asked, keeping her voice steady.

"Kael," he said, voice edged with a growl. "And I'm telling you-leave while you still can."

A presence stirred behind him.

Lucian.

The opposite of Kael in every way. Where Kael was all raw power, Lucian was grace. His long, dark hair framed a face too beautiful to be human. Pale skin. Silver eyes. A smirk that sent chills down her spine.

"Come now, Kael," Lucian drawled. "Don't scare the poor girl away. She just got here."

Kael didn't move, his golden eyes locked onto Aria like he was trying to solve a puzzle.

Lucian's smirk deepened. "Ravenwood isn't what it seems, sweetheart. Careful where you step."

And then-just like that-he was gone.

Aria exhaled sharply. What the hell was that?

The Warning

The day passed in a blur of whispered conversations and lingering stares.

By nightfall, Aria stood on the academy rooftop, needing air. The view was breathtaking-the forest beyond the school stretching endlessly, bathed in silver moonlight

A rustling sound from below. Then-a howl.

Not a normal one.

This was deep. Guttural. Predatory.

Her blood turned to ice.

She turned to leave-only to collide with something solid.

A strong hand gripped her wrist.

"Didn't I tell you to leave?"

Kael.

His voice was sharper this time, golden eyes glowing faintly in the dim light.

Aria wrenched her arm free. "What is your problem?"

Kael's jaw clenched. His nostrils flared slightly, as if he was-scenting the air.

Then, his expression darkened.

"You don't know what you are, do you?"

Her heart pounded. "What?"

Kael exhaled, his voice dropping to a whisper.

"You're not supposed to exist."

A gust of wind howled through the night.

And from the darkness of the trees-

A pair of red eyes blinked open. Watching. Waiting.

Aria's breath hitched.

The glowing red eyes in the distance locked onto her, unblinking. Cold. Hungry. Unmistakably inhuman.

Something primal inside her screamed: Run.

But she couldn't move.

Kael, however, did.

He stepped in front of her, his entire body tense, muscles coiled like a predator ready to strike. His golden eyes darkened, something shifting beneath his skin-something dangerous.

The air between them thickened, charged with an invisible force.

"Stay behind me," Kael ordered, his voice laced with something raw.

Aria swallowed hard. "What is that?"

Kael didn't answer. He growled.

Not just any growl. It was deep, guttural, not human.

The red eyes in the darkness moved. Fast. Too fast. One second they were distant-then suddenly, they were right there.

A figure emerged from the trees.

Tall. Cloaked in shadows. Its skin pale as death. A vampire.

Lucian.

But this wasn't the playful, smirking boy from earlier.

This was something ancient.

"Kael," Lucian's voice was a smooth purr, but his silver eyes gleamed with something predatory. "You're being rude. You didn't introduce me properly."

Kael didn't lower his stance. "I don't need to."

Lucian tsked, stepping closer. He was fast-too fast. One blink and he was a foot away. His gaze slid to Aria, studying her like she was some kind of puzzle.

"Interesting," he murmured.

Aria shivered. There was something cold about him-something unnatural.

Lucian tilted his head. "You have no idea what's inside you, do you?"

The way he said it sent a chill down her spine.

Kael growled again, low and threatening. "Back off, Lucian."

Lucian smirked, but there was something sharp in his gaze. Something dangerous."Careful, pup," he said smoothly. "You might bite off more than you can chew."

And then, like mist dissolving in the wind, he was gone.

Just... vanished.

The air seemed lighter, but Aria's pulse was still pounding.

"What the hell was that?" she demanded, whirling on Kael.

Kael ran a hand through his dark hair, exhaling sharply. "Trouble," he muttered.

Aria's chest tightened. "What did he mean? What's inside me?"

Kael didn't answer immediately.

Then-finally-he looked at her.

Really looked at her.

"You're not just human," he said, voice low. "And if Lucian knows that-you're in more danger than you realize."

A cold dread settled in her stomach.

Because the way Kael said it-he wasn't just guessing.

He knew.

And that terrified her more than anything.

The Truth Beneath the Moon

The words hung between them like a storm cloud, thick and suffocating.

"You're not just human."

Aria's pulse thundered in her ears. She searched Kael's face for some hint that he was joking, some cruel attempt to mess with her, but his golden eyes held nothing but cold, hard truth.

She took a step back. "That's ridiculous."

Kael didn't move. "Is it?"

A gust of wind howled through the academy grounds, rattling the trees. Aria wrapped her arms around herself, her mind spinning.

No. This wasn't possible.

She had lived seventeen normal years. No fangs. No claws. No bloodlust.

Just... a girl.

But if that were true, why did Lucian look at her like she was some lost artifact? Why did Kael's voice carry a warning she didn't understand?

"Tell me what you mean," she demanded, her voice stronger than she felt.

Kael exhaled through his nose. "You wouldn't believe me."

"Try me."

He hesitated, jaw clenching. Then, with visible reluctance, he spoke.

"You smell different."

Aria blinked. "Excuse me?"

Kael looked almost pained as he ran a hand through his dark hair. "Werewolves have heightened senses. We know when something isn't... right. When something doesn't belong. And you-" His eyes locked onto hers. "You smell like both of us."

Her stomach dropped. "Both?"

"Vampire. And wolf."

A sharp, bitter laugh escaped her lips. "That's insane. My parents-"

She stopped short.

Her parents.

Dead.

Burned alive in a house fire when she was only five. At least, that was the story she had been told.

Kael must have seen the flicker of doubt on her face, because his expression softened-just a little.

"You've never noticed anything strange about yourself?" he pressed. "Never healed faster than you should? Never felt... an instinct you couldn't explain?"

Aria's mouth went dry.

The nightmares.

The ones where she was running through the woods at impossible speed, her vision sharper than any human's, the scent of the earth thick in her nose. And the dreams of blood-metallic and rich, calling to something inside her.

She had always written them off as nothing. Just bad dreams.

But what if-

No.

This was crazy.

"This is insane," she whispered, shaking her head. "You're insane."

Kael's eyes darkened, frustration flickering across his face. "I don't have time to convince you. If Lucian knows what you are, others will too. And trust me, not all of them will want to talk."

A chill ran through her spine.

"What does Lucian want?"

Kael's jaw tensed. "I don't know. Yet."

Aria swallowed, hugging herself tighter.

None of this made sense. A day ago, she was just a transfer student trying to survive high school drama. Now she was being told she wasn't even human? That vampires and werewolves were real-and she was somehow connected to both?

"I need air," she muttered, stepping away.

Kael didn't stop her. He simply watched as she turned and walked away, his golden eyes filled with something unreadable.

She didn't make it far.

Because the moment she stepped past the stone archway of the courtyard-

A cold hand clamped over her mouth.

She barely had time to scream before darkness swallowed her whole.

Chapter 2 The Awakening

Aria's scream died in her throat as cold fingers tightened over her mouth, muffling any sound. Panic exploded through her chest.

The grip was ironclad-unyielding, unnatural.

Her heart pounded as she thrashed, kicking out wildly, but whoever held her barely flinched. It was like fighting against stone.

A chilling voice whispered against her ear. "Shh... don't struggle, little wolf. You'll only make this worse."

Little wolf?

Fear spiked through her, hot and blinding.

The grip yanked her backward, pulling her into the shadows beyond the courtyard.

Her vision blurred as she struggled to focus, her mind screaming at her to fight, run, do something-

But then, in a blink-

She was somewhere else.

The air shifted. The night sounds of the academy vanished.

Her stomach twisted violently as a wave of dizziness crashed over her. Teleportation.

When her vision steadied, she found herself in a dimly lit room. The air was thick with the scent of aged wood and something metallic-blood.

Her captor finally let her go, shoving her forward. She stumbled, catching herself against a sleek black table. Her breaths came in ragged gasps as she spun around.

Lucian.

He stood there, watching her with that same unnerving smirk. Unbothered. Amused.

Behind him, a set of ornate double doors loomed, their dark wood carved with symbols she didn't recognize. Candles flickered against the walls, casting long, eerie shadows.

Aria's blood ran cold.

"Welcome to my home," Lucian purred, spreading his arms. "I'd apologize for the abrupt trip, but-" He tilted his head, silver eyes gleaming. "You wouldn't have come willingly."

Aria's hands clenched into fists. "Where am I?"

Lucian sighed, stepping closer. "Still so many questions," he mused, reaching out.

She jerked back before his fingers could touch her.

Lucian's smirk widened. "Feisty."

"What do you want from me?" she snapped, her voice shaking despite her best efforts.

Lucian studied her, silent for a long moment. Then, he spoke, his voice softer-almost curious.

"I want to know what you are."

Aria stiffened.

"You're not just a girl, Aria," Lucian continued, circling her slowly. "And you're certainly not just some unsuspecting human caught in the middle of a war."

Her stomach twisted.

"Kael thinks you're one of them," Lucian murmured, stopping just behind her. "But I smell something else. Something older. Something that doesn't belong to either world."

Her breath caught.

This wasn't just about werewolves and vampires anymore.

Lucian leaned in, his voice brushing against her ear like a cold whisper.

"And I intend to find out exactly what that is."

Aria's pulse thundered in her ears. She needed to get out. Now.

But as she turned to make a break for the door-

Lucian was already there, blocking her path.

His smile sharpened, fangs glinting under the candlelight.

Aria's pulse pounded as she stumbled back. Every nerve in her body screamed danger.

Lucian stood in front of the double doors, his silver eyes gleaming with quiet amusement. Hunting her without even moving.

"Let me go," she breathed, forcing steel into her voice.

Lucian tilted his head. "Now why would I do that?"

Her mind raced. She had no weapons. No backup. Kael had no idea where she was.

And worst of all-Lucian was right.

She wasn't just human.

The problem? She didn't know what she was either.

Lucian took a slow step forward. "Tell me, Aria... do you feel it yet?"

A shiver crawled down her spine. "Feel what?"

His smirk deepened. "The hunger."

Her throat went dry.

No.

That wasn't possible.

She wasn't-

Her thoughts cut off as heat bloomed in her veins.

A deep, unfamiliar ache curled in her stomach. Her breathing hitched as something shifted inside her, something old and primal.

Lucian watched her like a predator studying its prey. "There it is."

Aria's hands trembled. Her nails tingled-itching-like they wanted to sharpen. The air suddenly smelled too rich, too thick.

Like blood.

Her heartbeat roared in her ears, drowning out every rational thought.

What's happening to me?

She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to force the sensation away. But it didn't listen. It grew.

Lucian's voice curled around her like silk. "You can't run from it, little wolf."

Aria's eyes snapped open. "I'm not a wolf," she hissed.

Lucian's smirk didn't fade. "No, you're not." His gaze burned into hers. "But you're not one of us either, are you?"

A sudden crash shattered the moment.

The doors behind Lucian exploded inward, sending shards of wood flying.

A black blur tore through the wreckage-Kael.

Before Lucian could react, Kael slammed into him, sending them both crashing into the wall.

"Aria, move!" Kael barked.

Her body obeyed before her brain caught up. She bolted toward the ruined doors, her legs screaming for speed.

Lucian snarled, shoving Kael back. "You're interrupting, mutt."

Kael didn't respond. He lunged, eyes burning gold, claws unsheathing mid-air.

Lucian caught his wrist with inhuman speed, twisting it with a sickening crack.

Kael didn't even flinch. He brought his other hand up, claws slicing toward Lucian's throat.

Lucian barely dodged, but it gave Aria the opening she needed.

She ran.

Through the shattered doors. Down a dark hallway. Anywhere but here.

But as she rounded the corner, a figure stepped into her path.

Tall. Pale. Red eyes gleaming.

Another vampire.

A trap.

Aria skidded to a stop. Her heart thundered.

The vampire smiled-fangs flashing.

"Going somewhere, darling?"

Then he struck.

Aria barely had time to react.

The vampire lunged, moving faster than her eyes could track. Cold fingers clamped around her wrist, unyielding as steel.

She twisted, trying to break free, but his grip tightened.

"Feisty," he murmured, amusement lacing his voice. "Lucian was right-you're something different."

Aria's skin burned where he touched her. Not from pain-but from power.

A sudden surge of heat rushed through her veins, overwhelming and foreign.

The vampire's smirk faltered. "What the hell-?"

A pulse erupted from Aria's core, sending a shockwave through the hallway.

The vampire flew backward, crashing into the stone wall with a sickening crunch.

Aria gasped, stumbling back.

What just happened?

The vampire groaned, his body twitching from the impact. He tried to rise-only to freeze when Aria's eyes met his.

She could feel it now.

Something inside her had awakened.

Her fingers tingled, her senses razor-sharp. The dim hallway suddenly felt too bright, the scents in the air too vivid.

And the vampire in front of her?

She could hear the blood rushing through his veins.

Her stomach twisted. No.

This wasn't normal. This wasn't her.

A growl echoed from behind.

Kael.

He was bleeding, his clothes torn, but his golden eyes locked onto her. "Aria, we need to go. Now."

Lucian's furious roar followed a second later.

The air rippled with power as the vampire lord stepped into view. His silver eyes burned with something dark-something dangerous.

Kael didn't wait. He grabbed Aria's arm and ran.

They tore through the labyrinth of hallways, their footsteps echoing against the stone. Aria's heart pounded, her breath sharp.

"What's happening to me?" she gasped.

Kael didn't answer. Not yet.

They burst into an open courtyard, the cold night air slamming into them.

Freedom.

But the second they stepped outside-

A dozen figures dropped from the rooftops.

More vampires.

They were surrounded.

Lucian stepped out last, slow and deliberate. His smirk had returned, but this time-it was edged with something new. Curiosity.

"You felt it, didn't you?" Lucian murmured, watching her closely. "The power."

Aria's hands clenched into fists. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Lucian's smirk deepened. "You will."

Kael's claws unsheathed as he stepped in front of her. His voice was low, steady. "You're not taking her."

Lucian chuckled. "You still don't get it, do you, wolf?" He tilted his head at Aria. "She's not yours to protect."

Aria's breath hitched as Lucian's eyes darkened.

"She's mine."

The night erupted into chaos.

Chapter 3 A Choice That Cannot Be Undone

The courtyard exploded into chaos.

Kael lunged first, his claws slashing through the air. The vampires moved as one, shadows twisting as they met his attack head-on.

Aria barely had time to think before one of them was on her.

She ducked-too fast.

Her body reacted before her mind could process it. A movement so fluid, so unnatural, that even the vampire hesitated.

What am I?

She didn't have time to wonder. The vampire recovered, lunging again, his fangs gleaming under the moonlight.

Something inside her snapped.

A force-ancient, wild, hungry-erupted from her core.

Her vision blurred, her heartbeat deafening.

And then-

The vampire stopped.

His red eyes widened in fear.

Aria felt it before she saw it.

A soft glow-**silver, unnatural-**illuminated her hands.

The vampire staggered back, his skin smoking where the light touched him.

"Impossible," he rasped.

Aria's chest heaved. She didn't understand what was happening, but she didn't care.

She turned her palm toward him-and the light surged.

The vampire screamed as his body was engulfed.

Kael barely had time to react. He snapped another vampire's neck before turning to her, his golden eyes wide. "Aria... what did you just do?"

Lucian's laughter cut through the air.

Slow. Amused. Knowing.

"Fascinating," he murmured. "I was right about you."

Aria clenched her fists, forcing the glow to fade. "Stay away from me."

Lucian took a step forward, ignoring the chaos around them. "Why would I? You belong with us, Aria. You feel it, don't you?"

She did.

And that was the problem.

Something inside her was waking up, something dark and ancient-something that didn't belong to the world of wolves or vampires.

Lucian's gaze burned into her. "Come with me, and I'll tell you what you are."

Kael snarled, stepping between them. "She's not going anywhere with you."

Lucian sighed. "Such a good little guard dog."

He flicked his wrist.

A force slammed into Kael, sending him flying across the courtyard.

Aria gasped. "Kael!"

Lucian didn't even look at him. His focus was entirely on her.

"Your power is still sleeping, Aria," he said softly. "But soon... you'll wake up."

The ground shook.

Aria's breath hitched as the air around her seemed to bend, pulling toward Lucian like a storm gathering around its center.

The vampires felt it too.

They backed away.

Even Kael-injured but standing-froze in place, his golden eyes locked onto Lucian with rare uncertainty.

Aria's fingers tingled. Not with fear.

With recognition.

Lucian smiled, as if he could sense it too. "See? You already know the truth."

His hand extended toward her.

"Come with me, Aria. Before it's too late."

A cold wind swept through the courtyard.

Aria's pulse pounded.

Something inside her wanted to take his hand.

To know the truth.

To know what she was.

But Kael's voice snapped through the moment.

"Aria-don't."

Lucian's silver eyes gleamed. "Choose, little one."

And Aria made her choice.

A Choice That Cannot Be Undone

Aria's breath came in sharp, uneven gasps.

Lucian's hand was still extended toward her, his silver eyes gleaming with amusement-and certainty.

He knew she was hesitating.

He knew something inside her was tempted.

Kael's voice was firm, steady-desperate. "Aria, don't trust him."

Lucian chuckled. "Don't trust me? I'm the only one offering her answers." His gaze flickered to Kael. "What are you offering, wolf? More running? More lies?"

Kael growled low in his throat, but Aria barely heard him.

Her fingers tingled. That same pulse of power-wild, unfamiliar-was still there, thrumming just beneath her skin.

Her whole life, she had felt like something was missing. Like she was a puzzle with a missing piece.

And now, here was Lucian, offering her the truth.

Her fingers twitched.

Lucian's smirk widened. "Yes. That's it, little one. You can feel it, can't you?"

Kael's body tensed, his golden eyes burning into hers. "Aria, don't do this."

Aria's heart pounded.

She wanted answers.

She wanted to understand.

But then-

She remembered.

She remembered Kael standing over her protectively when the vampires first attacked. She remembered the way he had fought through everything just to get to her.

She remembered the way his voice had shaken when he said her name.

Aria exhaled sharply-and made her choice.

She stepped back.

Lucian's smirk vanished.

Kael lunged, grabbing Aria's arm and pulling her behind him. "Wrong move, vampire."

Lucian's silver eyes darkened-and then he laughed.

Low. Amused. Dangerous.

"Wrong move, indeed," he murmured.

The air shifted.

Aria's stomach twisted as a strange, suffocating energy surrounded them. The vampires who had been standing in the shadows dropped to their knees, their bodies trembling.

Even Kael flinched, his jaw clenching.

Only Lucian remained standing-completely unaffected.

Aria could barely breathe. "What's happening?"

Lucian tilted his head, watching her. "Your power is connected to mine. You stepping away? That was a mistake."

A pulse of dark energy erupted from him.

Kael was thrown backward with a snarl, crashing into the courtyard wall.

Aria barely had time to scream before she felt something wrap around her.

Not hands.

Not chains.

But pure energy.

It tightened, pulling her toward Lucian-toward the darkness.

Her heart raced.

She struggled, but it was useless. The force was stronger than anything she had ever felt before.

Lucian took a slow step forward, watching her struggle. "You think you have a choice, little one?" His voice was soft. Deadly. "You don't."

Aria's vision blurred.

Her chest burned.

Her blood burned.

She barely heard Kael's pained growl from across the courtyard.

Lucian's voice was the last thing she heard before everything went black.

"You are mine, Aria."

Awakening in the Dark

Aria's consciousness drifted in and out like waves crashing against a distant shore.

Her body felt weightless, floating in an abyss of darkness.

Then-pain.

A sharp, burning sensation raced through her veins, searing her from the inside out. She gasped, her eyes snapping open-only to be met with endless shadows.

Where was she?

She tried to move, but her body was bound. Not by chains or ropes, but by something stronger. Older.

A force that whispered against her skin, claiming her.

"You're awake."

The voice was smooth, rich like silk-but laced with danger.

Lucian.

Her vision adjusted to the dim light, revealing a vast, gothic chamber. Black stone walls stretched high above, and flickering torches cast eerie shadows across ancient symbols etched into the ground.

A throne sat at the far end of the room-and Lucian was on it.

He leaned back lazily, his silver eyes gleaming as he watched her struggle.

"You lasted longer than I expected," he mused. "Most would have broken by now."

Aria's chest heaved. The burning hadn't stopped-it was getting worse.

"What... did you do to me?" she rasped.

Lucian's smirk was slow, deliberate. "I didn't do anything." He rose from his throne, stepping forward. "You're the one who's changing."

Her breath hitched. "Changing?"

Lucian tilted his head. "Did you really think you were just a werewolf, Aria?"

Something inside her twisted.

His voice was too confident, too knowing.

"You feel it, don't you?" he continued. "The fire in your veins. The hunger in your soul. That is your true self waking up."

Her pulse pounded. "You're lying."

Lucian chuckled. "Am I?"

He lifted a single finger-and the torches around the room flared.

The light flickered, casting shadows that moved on their own.

A cold shiver ran down Aria's spine.

This wasn't just vampire magic.

It was something older. Something forbidden.

Lucian stopped right in front of her, lowering his voice. "You are not just a wolf, Aria. You are something much, much more."

Aria's breaths came in sharp gasps. The pain in her body pulsed again, stronger-more demanding.

And then-

She felt it.

Something inside her cracked open.

Like a locked door being forced apart.

Lucian's silver eyes gleamed.

"Yes," he whispered. "Let it in."

Aria screamed-as the darkness answered.
