The Alpha Prince's Half-Blood Luna

Author: : S.WAN
Genre: Werewolf
Ally Griever used to be positive and full of smiles, but three years locked into a small cage while being tortured changed that cheerful personality into one much more cautious. After escaping from her captors with the help of a mysterious young boy, Ally finds herself running against time to find her way back to her pack. She's been cursed and knows she doesn't have much time left. All she wished for was to find a safe place to leave the little boy who saved her, and the last thing she needed was to find her mate waiting for her. Gabriel Walters is tired of listening to the Elders telling him how an alpha king is supposed to find his Luna within the first four years after his coming of age. He's 28 now, which means not only is he three years late to find his mate, but his wolf is also starting to become weak. The werewolf king's oldest son is ready - and willing - to give up his position as next in line to the throne if it means he can keep searching for his other half. But when a situation forces him and his warriors to take refuge in one of his family's allies' pack, the soon-to-be king is met with a shocking surprise: not only is his mate a half-breed, she has a child and looks as weak as the weakest Omega in his own pack.

Chapter 1 Gabriel

I sighed, probably for the thousandth time. Sweat was dripping down my temple and my hair stuck to the back of my neck annoyingly. But, despite the infernal heat, I continued walking.

My packmates seemed to be having as much of a hard time as I was, but they too knew what was at stake. We couldn't stop. At least... not yet.

Pushing myself forward a little faster I stomped my way through the forest, feeling somewhat angry at the fact that, despite being there to look for something that belonged to me, I ended up having to solve another pack's problem; again.

Well, ok, maybe that wasn't entirely true. Seeing as rogues posed a threat to all of our kind, I'd say I just ended up with another unofficial mission on my hands. Besides, chasing the rogues who had been attacking nearby packs had a bright side;

A fight would, maybe, help me cool my mind and calm my wolf - who seemed to always be on edge lately, and whom I couldn't blame for that in our situation.

I gritted my teeth, still unable to get my father's last words to me before I left, out of my head.

'You need to calm down,' Fenrir's deep hoarse voice resounded inside my mind, and I let out a puff of air feeling a little disdainful. Despite his dark, powerful tone still filled with anger, his words still managed to sound soothing. 'He doesn't really think it's your fault, but we both know how much the Elders can be a pain. So just relax, we'll find them. I know we will.'

'How can you be so sure?' I narrowed my eyes at nothing in particular as I jumped down some rocks. 'And the Elders are getting on my nerves. What, do they think I made my- our mate disappear somehow?'

'They might, for all I know,' Fenrir made a sound that resembled a growl - almost like a laugh - before continuing. 'But it doesn't matter Gabriel, we'll find my mate.'

'Our mate, buddy', I corrected him. He didn't say anything else and I imagined he had gone back to the depths of my mind like he always did.

He was, very clearly, getting impatient about the whole 'mate hunting' issue, and I couldn't possibly hold it against him, since I too was getting anxious. But, unfortunately, there was little else we could do other than keep searching.

I sighed again in frustration. 'What if our mate is dead Fenrir? Would we have felt it if it happened before we even met?'

I stopped abruptly, feeling a menacing growl erupt from my throat this time. "My mate is not dead."

I didn't notice the words had come out of my mouth until Yuri cleared his throat awkwardly as he walked past me.

I looked at my beta's back as he walked away - our pack bond was strong enough that I could feel his concern from miles away. I felt pretty astonished at Fenrir's overreaction, so I was glad he didn't say or ask anything; despite knowing he wanted to. On the other hand, my gamma, Miranda, couldn't keep her thoughts and worries to herself.

"Sir," she called as she approached me. She tilted he head slightly to the side to have a better view of my face before continuing, "Is everything alright?"

I looked away for a moment before nodding my head. "Yeah. Everything is good."

When I looked back at Miranda I saw her brows were furrowed, and she had a small frown on her face. She gave me a 'really?' look, but I only nodded again dismissively.

"I mean it, Mira," I said after her staring began to bother me. She still didn't look convinced but seemed to decide to drop the subject anyway.

"I think we're approaching their camping area," Yuri, was crouched down not far ahead of us. He picked a fistful of dirt from the floor and smelled it.

I saw his face contort into one of pure disgust before he looked at me and Miranda. "Yeah- ugh, we're definitely close."

Mira laughed and walked over to him.

"I almost feel bad for you," she patted his head as if he were a small child then walked past him, gaining a growl from the man in return. "It must really suck to be the one with the best nose."

She let out a small squeal when Yuri pushed her to the side with enough force to almost send her to the ground. And she gave him a dirty look over her shoulder.

"Not cool," she complained but kept moving.

Yuri rubbed his hand against his pants to clean off the dirt. He then offered me a friendly smile. "Come on, prince charmless, you're falling behind."

The other six warriors accompanying us were already moving forward, following Miranda.

I flipped him off for the comment before waving him away dismissively, signalling that he too should keep moving.

'Fenrir?'

'My mate is not dead,' he barked at me, bitterly.

And all I could do was roll my eyes at his mood swings. They were getting worse recently.

"Whatever you say, buddy," I mumbled out loud. And continued moving, making sure to keep a few feet behind the others, just in case something tried to flank us or her us into a trap - it had happened before.

Chapter 2 Rogue Alphas

I was forced to watch Yuri and Miranda bickering again. This time they were going on and on about who was the fastest one among them, like two primary school kids. And on a normal day, I would have called their attention. But we had already sent one of the warriors to take a look at the Rogues and their camp - which was supposed to be just a bit further - and they weren't being as obnoxious as I knew they could be.

As I observed the two, the realization that the warrior sent to scout had been gone for quite some time finally hit me. That was more than enough reason for me to worry.

"Gabe!" Yuri called out to me as I started thinking of a new plan. "Tell her I'm faster."

Miranda crossed her arms and looked at me with her brows raised. "I'm the fastest one."

"If any of you was the fastest I wouldn't have sent Hansen to spy on those Rogues," I stated flatly and fixed the two with an unimpressed look. "Which raises the question of why he hasn't returned yet."

Just as I said that we all heard a twig snapping and turned to the way the sound had come from, already with our claws out.

Limping from behind a tree, Hansen moved closer slowly. His clear green eyes stared right into mine before he fell to the ground with a muffled thud.

"Hansen!" Hal, his twin brother rushed to his side. I was soon beside him.

"There-" Hansen coughed up painfully. His shirt was ripped and soaked in his blood. The claw marks went from his right shoulder to his belly, he was rapidly losing a lot of blood.

"Brother," Helgen pulled his brother to a sitting position. "Who did this to you? Tell me! I'll kill them."

I put a hand on Hal's shoulder to calm him down before looking at his bleeding brother.

"Hansen, I need you to take a deep breath. And then I need you to tell me what happened, boy."

He was breathing heavily. "T-trap..."

My eyes widened at that simple word. And not an instant later I heard a loud howl, followed by at least a dozen more. And then there were growls coming from everywhere. We were surrounded.

A big brown wolf stepped closer from behind the trees. He was standing just a few meters away from me, Hal and his brother. His glowing red eyes were staring right into mine, and for a moment I was confused.

An alpha.

'A Rogue alpha,' Fenrir told me.

"Stay with your brother," I ordered Hal.

I got up slowly, noticing all the other werewolves making themselves known as they closed in on us. They were bigger than normal rogues. Hell, they even looked healthier.

"Something's wrong," Yuri had a wary look on his face. "They have no scent. I can't smell anything."

The brown werewolf that was staring at me let out a sound that resembled a laugh and I glared at him.

A trap... That was unusual for rogues, I thought as I tried to quickly come up with a strategy to get us all out of there safely, inside my head. Rogues were usually too stupid to come up with anything resembling a 'plan', so the fact this group managed to get us in a perfect trap was indeed interesting. Interesting and worrisome.

"Watch yourselves," I warned my warriors when the rogues began to close in on us even more. "And don't try to shift. They're too close, you'll be dead before your bones even start to change."

They all nodded.

"I'll cover you two," I informed Hal. "Take Hansen back to alpha Griever's territory. He needs a doctor, and it cannot wait."

He nodded and started helping his brother up.

When the brown werewolf attacked I was already waiting for him. He lunged forward with his mouth open, but I stepped to the side. I grabbed his head with both my hands, giving it a strong and precise twist. And just like that, the sound of his neck breaking reached my ears.

When I dropped his limp body on the ground quietly, for a moment, it was like the whole forest became silent. I couldn't even hear the warriors around me breathing. But then, all the other rogues attacked at once.

They started very organized and focused, I noticed. But soon their attacks began to lose strength. They started to lose control - that was what happened to every rogue at some point. They couldn't help it. And that was what made them so dangerous to their packs and communities, they either had to be kicked out or put down.

'Be careful with that black wolf' I warned Yuri through our mind link. I saw him nod at me.

Another brown wolf jumped on me with his claws aiming at my face, and I almost didn't have time to dodge his attack. I felt the moment the tip of his claw scratched the skin over my left eye and the side of my face, and soon my shirt became soaked with blood - mine, and from the moment I ripped the rogue's throat.

The group of rogue werewolves proved themselves as excellent fighters. They fought back with all they had. But soon we seemed to have managed to kill the stronger ones, and that encouraged those who remained to flee.

Yuri and Miranda looked like they were enjoying themselves; I couldn't say I was happy with the smile on their faces as they slaughtered those other wolfs. Seeing as...soon I could also be one of them-

'We'll find my mate Gabriel,' I heard my wolf say. But even Fenrir didn't sound as confident as he did before. I guess even he was losing hope.

'I hope so.'

Looking around absentmindedly I saw one of the fallen wolfs was still moving. I walked over to it, mostly to see if we could still take any information out of him.

"Hey guys," I looked over to Miranda and Yuri. "This one is still alive. We're taking him with us."

Yuri frowned slightly. "Are you sure Alpha? We could just kill him right-"

"I want to know what he and his group were doing so close to Griever's pack lands. They didn't kill anyone, but that doesn't mean they didn't plan on it."

Miranda nodded, seeming deep in thought. She dusted off her clothes before putting a hand on Yuri's shoulder.

"We need to know what they were looking for." She then looked at the wounded wolf lying at my feet. "Someone will have to carry him though, or this guy isn't going anywhere."

Yuri scrunched up his nose. "I'm not-"

"Yes you are," Miranda and I said at the same time.

He rolled his eyes at us, groaning in exasperation.

"Fine," he stomped to me. "But you guys owe me a beer for this."

As he picked the wolf up I looked at the small group standing just a little further. I noticed most of my warriors only had a few scratches - thanks to my father's hard training they were all very hard to beat, but still... I constantly worried about them - mostly because most of them were either too young or already mated. But above all else, they were my people. I guess it was one of the problems of being an alpha. Worrying was almost a genetic issue, and then you had a deep bond with so many people.

I could see that the ones a little more hurt were also already healing up.

It wasn't different to the cut on my face. Even though Fenrir was already growing weaker, my healing ability was still working very acceptably.

"Miranda, check if the wounded need medical assistance," I looked around into the woods one more time. "I'll run ahead and see if the way is clear. I also want to check on Hansen..."

She nodded.

I looked at Yuri.

"Go to the dark room when you get there, I'll let William know we have a prisoner." Yuri nodded too, and I continued. "I'll just take a look at Hansen and then I'll meet you there."

Chapter 3 White Wolf

"So you found their camp?" Mr Griever asked again.

I watched as his pack's doctor made every possible check on Hansen. He was still unconscious, and the doctor was trying to find out what the rogues could have used on him to be able to put him out like that.

"I'm not sure Mr Griver," I finally answered. Only then taking my eyes off my warrior. "At first we thought so, but it turned out to be a trap. They lured us there. I don't think they would set a trap for us in their real camp."

The older alpha nodded in understanding.

"We brought a prisoner though, so I expect to get some answers at least," I informed him, and he raised a brow at me. "I want to know what they're so desperately looking for in your lands. Don't you?"

"Of course I do," he bit back at me with a low growl. "These are my lands, I don't want those rogues trespassing and causing trouble."

I was about to say something to that when William, Mr Griever's oldest son barged into the clinic breathless. He looked at us for a moment, the look of shock on his face put me on alert.

"What's wrong, boy?" His father questioned.

He put a hand over his chest before finally responding, "The patrol teams reported a giant white wolf crossing into our land. It seems they're headed our way."

Mr Griever growled menacingly at his son.

"Another rogue?" He narrowed his eyes at William. "Didn't we reinforce the patrol teams on our borders, how did they manage to invade our land?"

William shook his head looking troubled. The look on his face was strange. He looked almost haunted. But just as I thought about questioning him, I felt it. A soft, warm pull. Then there was this delicious smell of...of home with...something else.

"Father," I heard William start to talk again and looked at him. "I think it's Ally."

"What-" Mr Griever was about to say something, but I interrupted him.

"Where?" Fenrir's deeper voice seeped into mine and both men looked at me. "Where's my mate?"

I saw their eyes widen.

William pointed to the window. "She's coming from the south."

Before I even had time to process what I had just heard Fenrir was already guiding my body out of the clinic and out of the house. I found myself marching to the backyard in firm footsteps, almost as if I was in a trance.

'Wait,' I tried to speak to him, but my wolf just kept walking.

'I told you we were going to find our mate.' I could feel how happy he was. I could even notice in his voice - so much softer than usual. But I couldn't help feeling apprehensive.

Fenrir stopped just a few meters away from the border to the forest. He waited right beside Mrs Griever, who was hugging herself as if expecting the most terrifying thing to show up from behind those trees. Her anxiety was coming off her body in thick waves. And even though Fenrir and I thought that was kind of amusing, it also made us both curious.

The two younger Grievers were beside her as well. I couldn't remember their names well... was it Orion and Tanya? Didn't feel like it mattered.

'Fenrir', I tried to get his attention again. But he still forced me down our mind.

A small shriek caught my attention and everyone looked at the forest.

William and his father had joined us, as well as many other pack members.

They all watched expectantly as the wind blew through the trees, as the smell of my mate became stronger and nearer.

Fenrir breathed in deeply while closing his eyes in delight. the wind seemed to be edging him to run into the woods to meet our mate, but he clearly had more self-control than that. And I was thankful he didn't end up making a fool of us both.

'I can't wait to meet-' he started, but I stopped him.

'Fenrir, we can't have a half-blood for a mate,' I told him after recognizing what that something else in their scent was. And quickly took back control over my body. Just in time to see the approaching white flash bursting out of the forest and into the light of the clearing where the Griever's pack house stood.

Her big paws sunk into the soft ground as she slowly came to a stop. And I couldn't help but notice the small figure holding onto her gorgeously perfect white fur for dear life. It was a boy - he couldn't be older than six. He also looked terrified.

We all stood in silence for a moment. Staring at the wolf as she stared back at us.

She looked at every one of the Grievers cautiously, before slowly turning to me. And when her gaze finally met mine I saw a glint of terror in them.

I didn't even notice I had stepped forward until I saw her step back.

Mrs Griever's hand found its way to my arm. I looked down at her face, and she gave me a soft look.

"Please," she whispered. "She's my daughter."

I furrowed my brows at her statement.

Did she think I would do anything to harm him?

"She's my mate."

I looked at the white wolf again. The boy was already off her back, and she licked the child's face in a way that made Fenrir growl.

'Is the child hers?' I wondered.

'Impossible,' Fenrir barked at me. 'That's my mate. No one could have touched her. She belongs to me.'

I raised a brow at that.

'Well, they seem awfully close...'

Fenrir growled again but said no more.

I was about to try to approach the white wolf again, but her head snapped up at me and she gave me a warning look.

"Ally doesn't like people covered in blood," the child said as he put the small bag he was carrying into the wolf's mouth. "Maybe you should consider cleaning yourself, mister."

I unconsciously reached to the side of my head - where the brow wolf from earlier had cut me. I had completely forgotten that I was still bathed in blood.

What a fine first impression.

The little boy looked at me.

"Ally also doesn't like to shift in front of others so she's going back to the forest." He started walking in our direction. "She'll come back. Just give her a few minutes, okay?"

The white wolf gave me one more look, and I could've sworn I even saw her shake her head slightly before she ran back into the woods.

'I have absolutely no idea of what to do now,' I told Fenrir.

He grunted. 'We found what we were looking for. So, I suppose now we go home.'

'Of course. Because she'll just accept to come with us.' I thought while rolling my eyes. Something told me things were going to be way more complicated than that.
