Melissa's pov

I laid down with shaky legs scared of what was to come. I closed down my eyes tightly to embrace the pain. When the heavy stick hits my bare back, I knew this was the end for me. It radiates down my spine. It hurts like shit.

Steven showed no mercy at all to my back. His beating grew more intense as I refused to cry. That is what he loves best, to see us beg for his mercy. I've sworn to myself to grow stronger till the end. I winced loudly as he gave me the final blow. It hits home and that left me paralyzed.

" Get up!" He shouted as if talking to a dog " Next time, you'll learn to obey rules" I dragged my dress up, hiding my nakedness from the perverted guards staring at me and even worse Steven. Since I stepped my foot here, he had been on my case and will not rest till he sees to it that he breaks me like how he has done to others. I could feel my blood rushing out from the open wounds. I stared right at Steven " Can I leave?"

He sneered at me " you lack no manners at all. I wish the alpha will give the order to end your life right now"... I smirked making him angrier" but he didn't" He was about dashing at me when the room got opened by the alpha himself.

" Alpha" Steven and the other guards bowed to show some respect. I also did the same showing the hurt look on my face. " I can see the punishment is over," Alpha Ronald said folding his arms.

He looks my way with this look of disgust. " Should we add more to the punishment alpha?" Steven asked with evil intent. I feared what will be the alpha's response because if he agrees to Steven's wish, I should consider myself dead.

This will surely be the end of me The Alpha waved his hand dismissively" I believe this is enough for now. She knows better not to make a run next time" I was scared shitless from his hard looks.

He is full of wickedness and doesn't mind showing that " I won't repeat that next time Alpha. Please pardon me this last time." Steven scoffed " As if she'll change" Alpha Ronald glared at him " Did I order you to talk?" I would have jumped up in joy seeing Steven scared but now isn't the time for that.

He shook his head in submission" I'm sorry alpha " Alpha Ronald look in my direction again "If you think you can run the next time then consider yourself stupid because I'll make sure I slice your throat open before that happens"

" There won't be the next time, I promise " I wiped my tears.

" Whatever you see deem fit for you" he shrugged " You can leave the two of us now " he commanded at his guards.

Steve made sure to look at me in disgust before he finally left the room. My legs began to move on their own. I knew exactly what this is about and I'm never allowing it to happen.

Alpha Ronald stride my way and the next thing he grabbed me by my neck and kissed me hard. I winced as he bites me on the lips. This isn't the first time and won't be the last. He'd turned me to his bed mistress and will use me any way he likes without my consent.

He pushed me on the bed making me shrieked in the process. I stared at him in fear not ready for anything at all. .

Luckily for me, I never allowed him to have his way with me. He only touches me in place and has never had sex with me. How I was able to survive that, I don't know. It disgusts me a lot when he does such things to me. It makes me want to puke all the time. I wonder how my mate will feel when he finds out I have been touched in places by another man. That is if we ever find our mate, my wolf said in my head.

Sometimes I forget that I share my thought with my wolf because of the amount of time she always interrupts me. I end my thoughts as I felt alpha Ronald going for my pant. I held onto his hand to stop him.

" Please don't " I pleaded with wide eyes. He looks angry at my attempt " Raise your hands" he ordered and I know not to disobey. He pulled off my shirt not caring if I had blood in them. The wound is already healing all thanks to my wolf genes

" Please Alpha" I pleaded "It's better you shout up and let's get this over with " I felt helpless allowing him to do as he pleases with me. I felt really dirty.

I dragged myself to my room after my encounter with alpha Ronald. I went straight to the bathroom to wash away his dirt on me. I wish I had a strong power that I can use to end his life. I rested my back on the wall feeling helpless and heartbroken.

A few minutes later I came out of the bathroom and changed into new clothes. It was time for dinner and it's best I go on time before I end up not having anything in my stomach. I closed the door to my room which I share with Ashley.

She must be worried right now for me.

I stared around the dining room where we Slaves eat. Slaves were their name for us. It's been four years now since I got kidnapped by the people of the West. We were all kidnapped against our wish and they made sure to use us as they deserve.

Some ended up killing themselves because the pain was just too much to endure. We are lucky they consider feeding us but it isn't still enough to make us feel full. We have no choice but to leave with whatever is given to us

" Melissa!" Ashley cried out as she saw me from afar. She waved me over and I didn't waste any time to go join her.

" I've missed you. Where the hell have you been?" She asked in worried. I sat down beside her

" I was taken to the punishment room" I whispered. She felt bad " I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to help" I waved it off" it's no big deal, I can handle it "

" so now what? We aren't going to attempt running away again?" She whispered not wanting the rest to hear us. I gave her a determined look " Trust me, Ashley, I will never give up no matter the punishment. I must see to it that we escape"

" Are you crazy?!" She almost shrieked

" Does this punishment mean nothing to you? Do you love the idea of always getting punished all the time? " .

I scoffed" you don't know me, Ashley. When I put my mind on something, I'll make sure I achieve it "

" You sound scary right now. Are you sure you're ok?" I shrugged " I guess living here just made me stronger. I want to see my family again. I want to be able to find my mate "

" We all want that but the right way"

" The right way you say?" I looked at her as if she was crazy

" what is the right way then? So you mean allowing these dogs to use us as they please is the right way? If you aren't tired of it then fine but I am sick and tired of it all. I need to leave this place if I don't want to run mad"

She looked around to see if people were listening to our conversation. Amongst us here, we know there is an insider that always gives Alpha Ronald a clue on what's going on because I wonder how he knew I was going to escape and the only one I told was Ashley.

Someone was eavesdropping the last time I made a plan. Ashley waved her hand in my face bringing me out of my thoughts

" So what's the plan?" I shrugged " I don't have a plan yet but when I do, I'll let you know " She nodded

" By the way you haven't eaten anything and I think the food has finished"

I glanced at the server and damn right the food has finished. It seems I'm not going to behave anything for dinner. I let out a loud sigh.

Ashley pushed her plate in front of me " You can have mine " she offered. I gave her a strained look, I'm suspecting how she always gives me her food whenever I don't get " what about you?"

She shrugged " I was lucky to have two plates" True to her words, I saw another empty plate laying flat on the table. Who was she given two plates, I thought to myself but didn't say anything... " Don't think too much over it, one of the guards was friendly to me that's all" she shrugged.

I nodded nevertheless" if you say so" " Have you heard the rumors going around?"Ashely's mind linked me and that almost got me scared.

It was so sudden She gave me an apologetic look when she saw me glare " I didn't want others to listen in on our conversation" her mind linked again.

I sighed and nodded for her to go ahead" What is it about?" " The Alpha from the North demanded a certain amount of Slaves here and they are coming over to receive them" I almost dropped my spoon at the mention of that name, it always sends a shiver down my spine "How did you know about that?"

" I was sent to the market by my master when I heard people say it. It's already round the palace and people won't stop talking about it"

" How comes I haven't heard of anything?" I wondered out loud. " That's because you always go MIA" I rolled my eyes at her " But still, I should have heard something"

" it doesn't matter whether you know before or not. Now you know." Ashley pointed out. I sighed, picking up my spoon to continue eating

" Who do you think Alpha Ronald will choose. I just hope I won't be among you because of everything I've heard about the king alpha. He is feared by even his parents" A fearful look also passes Ashley's face " I heard about that too. But I fear we will be selected"

" Why would you say that?" I raised a brows " Give it a thought, last week when we went for the harvest, have forgotten that we heard from the guards outside saying, some of the werewolves in the blood room will be sold to some unknown alpha? Don't forget we are also werewolves from the blood pack"

I remembered that day but I never think too much about it because I know alpha Ronald will never sell me once more to some Alpha. That man is a beast, if he wants something he always makes sure that thing is never far from him. This is why I fear my future, this is why I need to make a run. Thinking about it now, maybe if this North alpha thing is real, I'll try to convince Alpha Ronald to let me go with the rest. I know even if he agrees, he must surely give some conditions and I hate to know them right now. That way I can make a sprint for it on the journey. I just hope this plan of mine works out fine for me.

" Hey, Melissa! are you sure you're alright?" Ashley asked bringing me out of my thoughts.

" Why did you ask?" " Your mind has gone far. I've been talking to you but you weren't listening" She told me.

" Oh, it's nothing" She shrugged

" Anyways, I... "Ashley got cut off by some shrieking sound.

" LISTEN UP!" The room became quiet as Steven enters together with his fellow guards.

" Here is an announcement from Alpha Ronald and you better listen attentively". He rolls out a white long paper that has something scribbled down on it

" Hello to you all my Slaves, I hope you all are enjoying your stay here but sorry to cut this short, I have decided to hand over all of you from the blood room to another master. Yes, you all heard right, I am no more your master from today henceforth because you knew master will send guards to come to get you."

Noises moved around the room as people began to wonder who the new master was. Scared to know his reply.

" Wondering who your new master is?" Steven paused I give it to Alpha Ronald for always knowing how to play with people's minds. Steven picked up another paper to continue reading

" Well then, I know most of you already know as the rumors were true" I looked at Ashley and she gave me a smug look " See, I was right all along"

I rolled my eyes at her. " So embrace yourself as you find out. Your new master is none other than King Alpha Rafael" I almost gasped hearing the name the second time today. That name has always given me the shill feeling and it scares me. " Yes you all heard right but unfortunately, it's just for a month so therefore go into your various room and start parking. I'm giving you all just 30 minutes to be done packing. You all can now move. Before you all move, this specific list of people is to see me in my office now "

I knew I was on the list. He will never let me go. " Andrew, Tony and........Melissa" Steven looks in my direction with an evil smirk.

Ashley held on to my hand " This is not possible, I don't want to go. King Alpha is deadly and he eats his fellow werewolf. He also sleeps with almost all the female wolves in the palace" she was scared.

I rolled my eyes at her " Calm down Ashley, it might just be a mere rumor" I tried to make her see reasons. " You don't know how I'm feeling I'm right now that's why. I wish I'm in your place right now " she said. I scoffed " Do you think I'm happy here. All I want is to run away Ashley and you know that. I always wonder how my loved ones are doing, whether they miss me a lot or not. I just miss everyone at home " . " What about me? Do you think I'm also happy? I'm not. "

" Please calm down Ashley. This isn't the right time for all this. Remember Alpha Ronald wants to see me and I need to be there now. I wonder what grave crime I've committed again" I said.

She sighed trying to calm herself down" Just go and see for yourself. I'm heading to our room to pack" Ashley left me standing and I was shocked by her attitude. Why was she angry with me? I'm not the one that made the rules. I could help by wonder.

What Ashley didn't know right now is that, 'd rather be on this journey with them than to stay here. I wish I was selected so can put my plan into action. I shook the thoughts away and left for Alpha Ronald's office.

I took a deep breath before knocking, fearful of what is to come. I knocked again and this time I heard a slight 'Come in' I pushed the door and went inside

" Alpha" I bowed down.

He summoned me inside " Sit"

I did as I was told. I fiddle with my fingers not looking at him. The memory of what happened earlier on between us still lingers. Alpha Ronald shined his pearly white teeth at me

" I hope you were happy with the news?"... I would have snorted if he was an ordinary person but I know not to disrespect him. " Answer me!"

" Ye..s Alp..ha " I stuttered

" Good. I always want to see you by my side" he stood up from his seat and came to stand right beside me, caging me with his wood smell.

He caresses my lips " I still can get your taste out of my senses. You drive me so crazy, Melissa"

I was shaking in my seat. This is not what I pictured as I was on my way here" please Alpha I have a request"

" I...i.I also want to be amongst the slave going to the North" He laughed out so loud that I was beginning to think that he was going crazy

" Do you think I'm stupid Melissa?" The way he called out my name sent a chill down my spine

" I'm sorry if I crossed my boundaries" Alpha Ronald took my hands " Come" he said and I stood up and he took us to the couch. I sat down and he sat close beside me. He pecked me on the cheek

" so tell me, why do you think I'll grant you your wish?" I found my fingers interesting because I kept fiddling with the

" I thought it's just for a month. I wanted to see how that packs looks like" I muster the courage to touch his hand which also came as a surprise to him but didn't say anything. I went on with my advances. I stood up and sat on his leg

" I will never leave you Ronald" I tried as much as possible to make my voice sultry " I love you as much as you love me but I'm just scared to show it " I bite him on his ear. Alpha Ronald moaned " What do I stand to get if I allow you to go" I felt triumph that my plan was going smoothly

" I'll do whatever you ask of me " The next thing I know, I shrieked. Alpha Ronald picked me up and lay me down on the couch. He came hovering over me. My heart quickened. This isn't what I was expecting.

" Then I want your virginity" I tried to hold onto my gasped

" of course you'll get that but not now Alpha" the courage came from nowhere. " Fine then. I have another offer for you" I stared into his eyes " what is it?" " I want you to be my Spy"

I was perplexed.

This can't be happening right now.

Alpha Ronald laughed at my shocked face. He dragged me closer, fanning his breath on my face. He caged my whole body, leaving just a small space for me to breathe.

For a typical girl, he'll be called attractive with his looks but right now, I only see him as a pervert that will do anything to force himself on helpless ladies. Sometimes, I wonder if he'll ever find his mate because no woman would want to be with a man like him. He makes me want to puke.

I held my breath not wanting to take in his alcohol smell. I'm very sure he just had a drink " You'll be my spy. I want you to always report whatever you find strange to me when you get there " he repeats.

I looked at him as if he was crazy. How was I going to do that? As if reading my mind, he smiled

" Don't worry, I'll tell you how to do it. I have an insider around the palace, all you need to do is to find him when you get there and tell him what you see inside since he has no right to step into the palace, he would do the necessary"

" But Alpha, it'll be hard because from what I heard. They said the king alpha knows whatever is going on as he has large hearing ears. A gift from the Goddess" I tried disputing.

He nodded in agreement " True, but with the charm I have with me from the witch, nothing will happen. Just do as I say and that's all" I nodded reluctantly

He smirked " Ethan..." I furrowed my brows confused at why he looks smug. That name he called though, why did he call that name? I couldn't help the thought. He picked up a pen" Well, I'm sure that name sounds familiar right?" I was quite waiting for him to continue. " If you don't follow my orders, your brother Ethan will be held responsible. I'm sure you don't want that to happen right?" My body felt rigid" How...how did you know him?" He chuckled, pleased to have the upper hand " I keep track of all my slaves. It doesn't end there, I'm sure you know your father is sick and it wouldn't hurt to save his life by just ending his life with the snap of a finger " I gasped

" No!..no please don't kill my father. Please I want to see him. Please Alpha, don't do anything to my family. I beg of you"

I went on my knees pleading for mercy. " Well, it all depends on your love. Either you do as I say or you put your family in danger," He said to me with so much authority that scares me. His eyes turned from their blue color to red. I was shaking in fear " I will do it. I'll be your spy but please don't hurt my family "

He cocked his head on one side " Good then. You may rise and don't look stupid " I need not be told twice, I did as I was told.

I wiped my now tears stained face with the back of my hands. I never knew my father was sick and it hurts to find out this way. I'm sure he is suffering right now for not seeing me for all these years.

God, I miss them so much. I took a deep breath " What will I get if I do as you say?" I craved to know what I can benefit from this. He raised a brow as if stunned I asked

" I knew you were smart and that's why I chose you to be my spy. I know you'll do great. Talking about what you'll get.."

He rubbed his head as if he was thinking about it " I promise you your freedom, something you've been craving for all this while " He told me I knew I shouldn't believe him but I'm holding onto that because he is my passport to finally see my parent right now.

" One more thing" I glanced at him ready to embrace whatever he was about to say.

" This should be between you and me. If I find out that you betrayed me, I'll make sure I kill your entire household with my bare hands. Take this necklace."

He hands over the necklace to me and I took it with shaky hands.

" Put it around your neck once you get to the palace. It'll be hard for the Alpha to find out your intentions there and what's more, very hard to know your smell. This will help you achieve your aim"

I nodded" Ok" A knock interrupted us. " Come in " Steven came in looking breathless. I was also alarmed too.

" What is it, Steven?"

" They are here" Alpha Ronald need not ask who as he already knows exactly what Steven meant. He gave me a hard look as if reminding me of what will happen if I don't do as he says. I nodded with a lowered head.

" Let's go"

We got outside and truthful, they were here looking murderous, sending a chill down my spine. They look heartless already making the rumor looks true.

"Alpha" I called out Alpha Ronald gritted his teeth, seeing how they came inside without asking for permission. This was an insult to him. Mere guards for goodness sake, not even the King Alpha.

" Not now Melissa. Go join the rest" I kept mute and went into the crowd in search of Ashley.
