Chapter 1 First Chapter

"Till death do us part." I echo the words and a rush of euphoria overtakes me and then I know, if this doesn't work out the way it's meant to work out, I'll be in a huge mess.

I stare at the face of one of the richest men in America and I can't help but think, is this all worth it?

Selling myself off to a man I barely know, even though he's a ruthless, handsome devil. As I

continue to look into his brown eyes, I see a dry smile play on his lips. Reminding me this is

nothing but a contract thing.

A contract wedding.

A deal with the devil.

Nothing more than this is going to happen between us. It's just business and at the end of the day,

He gets to live the solitary life he wants with no other love or thought but for his company.

Satisfying his mom and himself while also getting rid of the minor disturbances in his life.

Talk about killing three birds with one stone.

For me, I get to see my mother happy again. I get to witness my sister get healed. They're my

family and they mean they mean the world to me. They do.

I look at the faces of the crowd and my eyes immediately lock in with my mom's. I see the tear

A drop falls from her eyes as she gives me a knowing smile.

Of course, she knows. There's hardly anything Mom doesn't know about.

She knows there's more to being the sudden bride in a wedding than my being in love.

I smile back at her and I can't help but remember our last conversation.

******

The slow dripping sound of the IV drip continued, each drop reminding me of the slowly passing

The girl on the bed, her body now pale white, and her eyes closed.

In the corner of the room, I can hear my mum whimpering, closing her mouth with her hands as

She tries to ignore the slow death that her child is undergoing.

"Mum? Please stop crying. I will get the money soon." I say, my voice breaking towards the end

of the statement, my mental health now sabotaged. "I will work more jobs and I will take

out a loan or something. Please. Don't do this to yourself."

But she pays me no mind as she continues to stare at the little girl on the bed. Not moving, not eating, I'm not even sure she's breathing.

It saddens me more seeing her this way because someone so full of life shouldn't be confined to such sadness.

Ever since Dad's passing, Mom has tried to make sure everything remained the same. While we cried our eyes out, Mom stood strong and gave us that smile of hers that made it known that all was

good. Talk about being an anchor and a backbone. Even after we passed the grieving stage, she

kept on acting like nothing had happened just for our sake.

Watching that same woman now sitting, helpless and without life grieves me. I turn my back

about to leave and go in search of money just as I've always done since my sister's sickness

started. My mother's voice stops me.

"They don't think she's going to last the month without proper treatment." Her hollow voice says.

"I tried to talk to the doctor to give us some more time but the more we delay it, the more she..."

She tries saying but bursts into a bout of tears.

Gastric cancer. That is what my sister is suffering from. And every single second that we waste,

leads her closer to the grave.

I turn back to face my mom as I walk up to her and fall to my feet I lose control of myself, the

tears falling uncontrollably.

"I know, Mom. And I'll work so hard and make sure that doesn't happen. You have to trust me,

Mom. I promise you she'll be fine. Judith survived." I know what I'm saying feels impossible and

sounds like a lie but I'm past caring. I just want my mom and sister back and I'm willing to do

anything and everything about it.

I lost my Dad, I'll be damned if I lost my sister the same way.

Mom finally takes her eyes off Judith and looks at me, her glassy eyes heavy with sadness.

"You've done more than your best, darling. And I don't want you feeling like you owe me." Her

warm palm touches my cheek. "I'm so proud of the woman you've become. Maybe...there might

be no more hope for your sister but there's still hope for you. Go live your life, my darling."

"Don't say that, Mom. This isn't because of any debt or anything. You are my family and I'll do

anything to make sure you're happy. Aren't I your daughter?"

Fresh tears fall from her eyes as she nods. "Yes, you are, darling. And I love you so much."

I stand to my feet and hold out my hand to her. "Let's go home, Mom. You need to eat." I say.

She takes a look at Judith and shakes her head. "But your sister, I can't lea-"

I interrupt her. "Yes, you will, Mom. Because she wouldn't want to wake up and see you this way.

No one's saying you can't come back. But right now, you need to eat something. It's been days. I can't lose you both." That seems to do it as she looks back at me and holds my hand, standing to her feet.

"Let's go home." She smiles at me.

I smile back as my mind begins to wander how many more jobs I need to take to make all this

Seems right.

No one's going to give me a loan anymore so I've got to do this myself.

Mom must have been speaking to me because she squeezed my hand gently and smiled when I looked at her.

"Don't work yourself too hard, my love. We'll do this together. We won't lose your sister. We

won't lose Judith."

Chapter 2 Second Chapter

LutherCorp seemed larger than it was in the video. When I got an email saying the company

was in need of a cleaner and the pay was really good, I couldn't stop myself from applying.

This is my only opportunity to get to my target.

LutherCorp is bustling with people dressed in corporate wear, looking sharp and I curse myself

for dressing too casual. At least I'll be getting a cleaner's uniform.

As I walk through the doors, a man walks up to me, his phone in one hand and a bundle in

another hand. He stares at it and stares at me. Do the same thing two more times before

coming to a conclusion.

"Are you Vivian Hathaway?" He asks and I nod, stretching forth my hand to shake him.

"Yes, sir. I am. Nice to meet you.

" He stares at my hand and hands me the bundle in his hand instead.

"You're five minutes late already. Get dressed and go over to the seventh floor. Meet with the

secretary and she'll assign you to your first duty.

" Without waiting for my reply, he walks off.I almost pull up my middle finger at him but I settle for sticking out my tongue instead. Very

childish but who cares.

I look at the bundle in my hand and realize it's my uniform. The usual black and white and I

curse. Can't we just wear something not this cliche and awful? It will very much save a lot of pride. But even with my complaint, I find a secure room and change there. The uniform is tight and

short, showcasing more of my curves and my tits are popping out.

Maybe I am wrong about this. The smile escapes my lips at how seductive I look. If there is any

way to get to David Luther, it's this way.

I've heard about his nightly club activities. He'd definitely want something like this.

I stare at the mirror and my reflection stares back at me. My pale blue eyes are tired from lack of sleep from the waitress job I had last night. My chestnut hair is messy and unpacked. I sigh as I

straighten it as best as I can, checking my body out in the mirror again, as I tie my sweatshirt

over my shoulders and I pull the gown a little lower to try to act modest.

I exit the room and find the elevator, it doesn't take me too long to find it. I press the '7' button,

anticipating how my first day of work will be like.

The elevator dings and opens and the first thing I see is a large desk with a pretty woman sitting

on it. Her smile is broad, making her red lipstick stretch on her lips. But it slowly falls as she

sees me walking towards her.

I feel her eyes scan my body and I almost feel insecure.

"You must be the new cleaner.

" She says, her eyes showing a bit of disgust.

"Mr Luther would

be around soon so you should get his office cleaned up. Do not touch anything you're not meant to touch. He likes his things the way he wants them to be. Is that understood?" I nod in

compliance as she points with her perfectly manicured fingers towards the door.

Bitch! Who exactly does she think she is speaking to me in that manner? If it weren't for the situation,

I'd be way above her. I throw her a fake smile and walk into the assigned office, making sure to

swing my hips as I move.

Take that bitch! As I step into the office, I lose my breath for a second. The office is wide with a massive mahogany table right in the center. On it, perfectly arranged paper work and a name tag with 'David Luther' written in gold.

The room is painted cream and light blue, giving the office a bright glow. On one side of the wall

is a massive portrait of David and his parents standing beside him. Just staring at his image

makes me boil with hate and anger.

This should have been mine. It was my family's sweat that built this, not David's. I'll be taking

every single thing back. That's a promise.

I get set to work, going into the bathroom, built in the office and getting dusters and I start with

his table. It's spotless already but I still dust it, making sure to not knock over the stack of

paperwork. I move over to a shelf not too far from his desk and I start with the one having his awards in it.

There are rows of awards with different shapes and sizes. One catches my eyes and I drop the duster to inspect it. It's made of glass and shaped like an

orb on top of a square box. I'm about to read what it's for when a voice startles me.

"What are you doing here?" A male baritone voice says behind me. almost sounding like a low

rumble, the tone slightly irritated.

I jump, dropping the award. The glass shatters into many pieces before me. I open my mouth in

shock and my face contorts in horror.

I didn't mean to do that.

As I stare at David, I can't help but think, he is more handsome in person. Too bad he'll be

miserable as I am in a few months.

I remember myself and begin my act.

"I'm sorry, sir, very sorry. I'll get that cleaned up now. " I knell and begin to pick the shattered pieces from the floor, making sure my tits are open and the swell is evident.

The door opens and the smiling secretary enters. Her smile is bright and in her eyes is

admiration till she sees on the floor, picking broken pieces of her boss' award.

"You piece of shit! I thought I told you not to touch anything. This will be taken from your salary,

believe me."

Not you, bitch.I almost wince but I keep up the facade.

"I'm so sorry, I did not mean to break it...

" I begin to say but the secretary cuts me off.

"Get that cleaned up immediately and take it to the head of cleaners. He'll have something

worthy in-store for you. I'm sure."

"Leave." A voice says and it takes me a few seconds to realize it's coming from David. His eyes are not leaving mine as I see the intensity in his glare. I make my way to leave but he stops me. "Not you.

" he says, turning to look again at his secretary.

"You."

Her eyes widened in surprise, as though she could not understand why he would ask her to

leave even though I am the one that smashed open his artifact. She turns around ,giving me a

ghastly glare before leaving.

Now, with the both of us alone in the room, I feel his eyes rummage down my body and coming

back to my face and I see the desire in them. It causes me to almost smirk.

"Who are you?" He asks, his voice now low, almost as though he does not want me to be

frightened.

I clear my throat, getting rid of the hiccup in my voice and finally answer.

"My name is Vivian. I'm the new cleaner assigned to your office. I was going to leave... I

shouldn't have touched it. I'm sorry. I'll pay for it.

"I say to him as I scramble to clean the mess I

made. He opens his mouth to say something but someone barges into the office, a blonde haired

woman who looks like she has an attitude problem, and from the looks on her face, she is not pleased to see me.

Chapter 3 Third Chapter

Her face is full of disgust when her eyes meet mine.

"Who are you?" She asks as she walks into the room, shutting the door behind her. Her eyes

flicker to David as though acknowledging him for the first time. Her eyes switch faster than the speed of light. Her smile, bright even to match the sun's glow.

"David baby! I missed you so much. I had a lot to do yesterday so I was not able to meet up

with our date. I'm so sorry. How do you feel about going today?" She asks as she jumps on him, kissing his face as though I wasn't in the room.Interesting.

"We can talk about that later, I'm having a little meeting with a worker of mine. If you don't mind waiting outside.

" he says, face suddenly emotionless.

I would have done everything within my power to avoid the glare that followed that declaration

almost instantaneously.

"What do you mean?" She laughs as though finding his words funny.

because of that thing?" She asks.

"You are sending me out

I can't control the smile that escapes my lips this time. I haven't even started much and I am

already having a sway on him. Nice.

"Cynthia, please don't make me say it again.

" David says, his voice now holding slight irritation.

But she does not seem to notice because she is now staring at me, her eyes bundled in

surprise and confusion.

"That sweatshirt you are putting on...

"she trails off.

I look down at the sweatshirt I am wearing on my uniform. It was one of the dresses brought in

for washing by one of my mum's customers, she owned a Laundromat. It looked really nice so I decided to wear it.

"What are you talking about?" David asks.

"It's mine. You know Caleb? He got it for me. I spilled coffee on it and told one of the cleaners to go get it washed. The fool must have taken it somewhere other than the laundry.

" Cynthia says, startling me.

I look back at the sweatshirt and almost curse myself. Of all days, luck decides to leave me.

I try to keep up with the facade, knowing I'm losing the battle already with the cold look

appearing on David's face.

"I'm so sorry, my mum has a Laundromat, I have nothing to wear to work today. I just borrowed

it please. I can get you a new one if you want.

" I am rambling now and I know it.

Fuck this!

I had almost gotten him. I look at Cynthia's face I almost wish I can hex her out of here. She

sees the look I give her and she rounds in shock. I quickly look at the floor not wanting this to go

as bad as it is already.I hear movement of heels and I lift up my head. The next thing I know, a slap lands on my face.

"What do you mean get me a new one, you poor, good for nothing bitch? This is a limited

edition. You think paupers like you can afford it? I blame that stupid cleaner for giving my

clothes. Do you think I'd be willing to take my precious clothes to your cheap slut of a mother's shop?" She asks, each word stinging.

I stand in shock, not believing what has just happened. The bitch slapped me.

She fucking slapped me.

I almost move when David's voice snaps me to my senses.

"That's enough, leave her. I'll get you a better one. " He says, holding her on the shoulders and pulling her away from me. He turns to me, his eyes full of disgust.

"You can go."

But maybe it is the slap that loses my tongue or the adrenaline rush from the whole event or the

words said to my mother but I feel emboldened.

"No." I say.

He looks at me like he's seeing me for the first time. "I mean... I want to speak to you about something.

" My eyes shift to Cynthia.

"Alone."

She scoffs as though not believing how bold I am. "Can I speak to you later, Cynthia?" David says but his eyes are firm on me. I smile a little as his eyes drop to my tits.

Cynthia opens her mouth in shock and for a moment I think she might slap me again. But she just turns away, slamming the door loudly and causing the whole room to reverberate.

"What is it that you want?" David asks, spreading his arms.

I breathe in deeply, racking my brain for what to say. I only wanted him to walk Cynthia out of

the office. I didn't know how I knew that he would but I just knew.

What am I going to s-

"Please don't fire me.

" The words leave my lips before I can process them. "I have a sick sister

in the hospital and I have to get money for her surgery. I'm not asking that you give it to me-i

know you can but that's not what I'm asking. I just want you to know that if you fire me, I don't

know what I'm going to do.

" I am near tears when I finally stopped talking, my pride now non

existent.I look at his face and for a moment he seems to be considering everything I said.

"Well why would you want money when you can just steal it? Maybe that's what you were

looking for when I walked in.

" His words send a sharp pain in my chest.

"What? Steal from you? Why would I-I was just dusting your shelf. I would never steal from

you." I said to him.

"What do you possibly think you can do for me that I want?" He asks. His eyes did not hold

skepticism, perhaps curiosity is the dominant emotion as he stares at me.

I gulp."Whatever you want. I can clean, I can scrub, I can grovel and beg. Whatever you want" I say to him.

David looks at his watch and turns back to look at me. He takes a step forward and it's followed

by another, making my heart skip.

He stops a few inches away from me, so close I can smell his cologne.

"I don't help thieves. Get out!" he said.
