"Boom!" the gun clicked and the door opened and some people entered . Baylor my father who heard the gun sound woke up and touched my mom who woke up at once. My dad put his hand in the drawer by his side and pulled out his gun. "Take the kids".he said to my mom. "I can't leave you alone "my mom whispered .he then hugged my mom. "Go!"he ordered. He then went down stairs to face the unforeseen enemy. "Ariana stay with Speer"melissa my mom said. "Mom,what's wrong?" I questioned. "Where is dad?" I asked. "Boom!" The gun sounded again. "I wish I could explain...... go!"she said sobbing.

"Who are they?" I asked. She kissed me on the forehead. "Remember that your dad and I love you , ok!" She replied. She opened the kitchen door and pushed us out. She brought out her own gun from one of the cupboards about to shoot one of the men who was at her back,but the man knowing what she was about to do,pointed his gun at her. "Don't do this, take whatever you want, but leave my family alone."my mom pleaded. "So cute, but sorry that can't happen, I can't just leave you. You guys found out what you shouldn't have, you acted too smart and nosy and that really got on my nerves " he said. "Vin, finish the job we have no time!" A voice yelled from downstairs. "Boom!" He blew my mom's brain. "Mom!". I winned. The man looked at me,then I began to run with Speer. The man then shot me on the right hand and was about to take the second shot,when one of his men held his hand. "Stop it!",that was not part of the plan,besides they are kids". The other said. We ran past their van and I saw a symbol on their van ,like a logo and I vowed never to forget that symbol. Still bleeding, I managed to pull my brother till we got to our grandparents house . I knocked. "Who is it?". The Voice asked. I gave no response. As the door opened, I passed out . "Jesus, Frank! " it's melissa's kids".grandma said. Then I was rushed to the hospital for treatment. After some hours , I woke up. "Frank! she is awake!" Grandma echoed. "Are you ok? Who did this to you and where is your mom?" Grandpa asked.tears began to roll down my cheeks then I slowly began to say "Some people killed them" I said. "What!"Frank yelled "No! They killed my baby!" Grandma sobbed. "Calm down! Sara, be strong for the kids."grandpa said. "I want my mommy! I want my mommy! "Speer winned "Come here my little baby" grandma said and cuddled him still sobbing lightly. "Grandma why are you crying ?are you ok?" Speer asked. "Me! grandma is fine" she replied. "When is my mom coming back?" Speer asked. "Soon!"she replied. Not long after I was discharged and we went to live with our grandparents. We did a little funeral for them, no one came except us. Speer cried till he fell asleep. I cried too but I tried to comport myself, but I just couldn't. The fear of never seeing my parents again frightened me. I cried till I also slept off. I didn't even eat dinner that night. After some while my grandparents enrolled us in a new school. It took time adapting. I had no friends, I just stayed on my own. I worked pretty hard and I got good grades and became famous in school. I then decided to become a cop, just like my parents.

14 Years Later....... "Good morning!" My friend Kira said into my ear. I smiled as I woke up. Oh I forgot to introduce myself. I am Ariana Lewis,a 27 year old. I used to live with my grandparents frank and sara,but I had to move to Florida because of my job and then Speer my little brother came along with me. I now live with Kira my friend, although I own the apartment, I let Kira live with me because she had some financial problems so I decided to help out. I am a cop, I decided to become one so as to avenge my parents death.

They too were cops and I think they came across some vital information so the only way was to eliminate them. Most people tried discouraging me from becoming a cop,but I never gave up. "So Kira ,what are we having for breakfast?" I asked. "Mac and cheese". Kira replied. "Where is Speer?"I said. "In his room I guess " she replied. "Speer,Speer?" I yelled. "Right over here!good morning sis" he said. "Good morning! " I replied. "Sis, l need 250 dollars "Speer added. "What! That large amount, for what?" I questioned. "For my upkeep,and to get some stuffs, besides I need to change my wardrobe, my clothes are getting outdated ".Speer winned. "I don't have that large amount, I will see what I can do. I need to send money to grandma, pay bills, and send you to Chesterford. " I replied. "I don't want to go to Chesterford,besides it is quite expensive, I really want to go to music school"Speer winned. "Will you listen to me, I know what is best for you ok!" I yelled. He began to sob. "I am sorry!" I whispered. "Kira let's go!" I added "Take care Speer " Kira said. But he gave no response. I knew he was mad at me. I got into the car with Kira and drove off. "Ariana, weren't you too hard on the boy?".Kira said. "I am doing it for his good". I replied. "But your ....." Kira said and then I interuppted ."enough! "Do you think it is easy for me,I have to take care of Speer, my grandparents and you. Please!". I replied sobbing. "I didn't mean that". Kira stammered. Then I kept on driving. "Bye!"she said and got down. I then drove to work . "Good morning Clark " I said to one of the officers. I took out my ID and put it on the door and it opened. I was taking out some documents when I was startled by one of the officers. "Hello !" He said . "Eddie you startled me!" I exclaimed. "Mr. Josh wants to have a word with you!" He added. "Me!" I said in surprise and headed for his office. I then knocked. "Come in " he said and I entered. "Sir you sent for me" I replied. "Have a seat" he added. He happened to be my boss. "Because of your contributions to the growth of this institution, so I have thereby decided to promote you to the post of a detective ".he said and smiled. "Really ! Thank you sir! " I beamed with joy. And then saluted "You may go!" He added. "So what was that all about?"Eddie asked. "I can't believe it ,I got promoted jeez" I replied. "Great, lucky you ,most people don't get promoted only after five years and you have only been here for three years". Eddie replied. "That calls for celebration, mind having dinner with me tonight?"he asked. "Eddie, I am sorry, I am booked, I have other things to do". I replied. "You don't aways have time, come on" he added "Please, leave me alone , I am sorry " I replied and went to my office. Just then, Bobby ,one of the officers came into my office. "A new case just came up and mr Josh said I should include you .do you mind?"Bobby said. "Of course I do " I said cheerfully. "Happy about your promotion, good job". he added and went away. "I will be there in a sec" I said and took some files and ran after him. In his office "Hello! " I said to Robin. They were actually my boss so I had to show them respect . Then I sat down. "So what's the case all about?" I asked. "Homicide ,someone happened to kill Bob-G the famous boxer and the one person caught at the scene was his daughter flora". Bobby said. "A kid?how old is she? She can't do such a thing?". I said. "She is thirteen, she was actually with a broken bottle when we found her". Robin said. "Did she say anything? " I asked. "No she denied ". Bobby replied. "But we can't say she did it right?"Where is she and where is her father's body?" I asked. "His body is still at Saint Patrick hospital ,under some inspections" Bobby replied. "Can I see the body and speak with the girl?" I added "You should go with shakes, Robin and I will look for more withnesses"bobby said. "OK, let's do this! "Shakes said. " This is really a big case."Eddie said.i put on my bulletproof vest with my body cam on it then I followed shakes to the hospital where his body was kept. "Ok!"Shakes said and started the engine and zoomed off.

I was a bit nervous, this was my first time on such a task. What I was doing before were minor crimes like robbery ,pocket lifting but now homicide! That was bigger than my expectation. Finally, we got there,there were some reporters standing outside. I turned on my body cam and stepped out of the police van. "Please excuse,the police is here!" Shakes said and the reporters made way for us to pass. The body was kept in the hospital mortuary. "FBI, we are here for Bob-G 's body for some investigations". Shakes said to one of the doctors and we brought out our badge.

"Right this way " the doctor said and lead us to where the body was kept. "You may now excuse us" Shakes said and the doc went away. He began to take pictures of the body, while I inspected. I touched the body looking for a stabbed spot,but there was none. I turned the body around and saw a hole which passed through the heart to the front. Only a gun could do that ."something was wrong? Why was his daughter found with a broken bottle? What is this about?" I said all this to myself. "Found anything?" Shakes asked. "Yeah, look! I replied. "What is this about?"Shakes said. "Did you find any bullets? He added. "Nope!" I replied "Let's head back. I added. "Thank you doc for your time."Shakes said and we went off. At the station "I will like to see the man's daughter " I said to shakes and he gave me go ahead. "The keys" I asked and he threw them at me. I wanted to call Speer, but this was more important. As I headed to the interrogation room where she was kept. I saw her through the glass and she looked sober. I then pushed the door and went in. "Flora right? I am here to ask you some questions and I will like you to cooperate with me ok!" I said calmly and she only nodded. Then I sat down. "Where you with your dad on the day of the incident? " I asked. "I didn't do it, listen to me, I didn't do it " she replied with fear. "Where you or where not there?" I ordered. "I didn't do it " she kept saying. She wasn't giving me the answers I wanted, she was shaking as if someone was after her. "Are you ok? Come on, you can tell me". I said and touched her on the shoulder. She began "My parents got separated and it happened to be the day for me to Visit my dad. I went to my dad's house, he bought me popcorn and we began to watch the cricket match because my dad loved cricket. Not long after,he stood up and went into the kitchen to get some juice, then I heard a gun shot. I stood up to see what had happened but someone held me by the mouth and put a handkerchief over my nose. When I woke up, I found the broken bottle in my hands". Flora said. "So you are saying , you were druged?did you see the person's face? "I asked . "No, no I didn't "she stammered. "Ok ,I will get back to you ok!" I added and went out. "What did she say?"Bobby asked. "She said she didn't kill him" I replied. Robin who stood near the interrogation room ran inside and slapped her. "Why did you do that for?"I asked "She is lying "he said panting "Why did you say that?all the evidences have proven her innocence, the father was shot not stabbed and why would a 13 year old girl do that to her father?" I said boldly. he was speechless then he went away. I packed my stuff and headed for home. "Found any leads?" Eddie asked. "Nope, but something is fishy" I said. "Fishy, I don't smell any fish" he teased. "This isn't the time for jokes" I said angrily and went away. I got into my car and headed for home.
