**AUTHOR'S POV**
Slowly she regained her consciousness. She tried opening her eyelids but they felt so heavy for her. After much struggle, she managed to have a little sight of her surrounding which was blurry in her vision.
Memories of 3months came flooding into her head. She finally remembered why she fainted and how she ended up there, on the cold bare floor.
Trying to sit up but the weakness she felt wouldn't let her. She had fainted due to starvation. She wasn't even aware that she has been that way for 6days with no one bothering to check up on her. The small room stank from her body odour. It's been more than a week since she bathed last.
Tears soon rolled down her eyes as she recalled how her life had drastically changed. Her life became sour and turned in the worst possible way for her. Nobody cared about her anymore. She was abandoned to face the guilt of what she didn't even do alone.
The door opened slightly and a bright light shone at her face but she didn't even have enough strength to cover her eyes from the blinding light so she squinted her eyes. Being in the dark room for six days made her get used to the darkness.
"Get up" a deep male voice commanded which shook the small room she was in. She felt her body shivering at the voice.
She managed to look at him and fear gripped her. It was the same guard who threw her here 6days ago and left her to starve. Not only that, he was the one carrying the boss order of Making her be in pains and hearing her painful cries.
"Didn't you hear me?" His voice boomed again.
Lisa tried to lift herself from the floor but was just too weak. Her body felt heavy like a log of wood.
The huge guard walked over to her and yanked her up forcefully before hitting her across the face making her fall back to the floor.
"Aaaahhhh" Lisa yelled in pain. The guard yanked her up again. It was a wonder how she got the strength to shout. She didn't even have an ounce of energy in her body.
"I hate disobedience. Next time I say do something, you do it with utmost obedience" he said coldly before dragging her out of the room by her hair.
Tears felled from her eyes as she was dragged out by the hefty guard. She dare not shout or cry outloud knowing fully well what Happened last time she did.
He opened a door before pushing her into a dark room. She fell again on the floor with a loud thud.
She cleaned her tears before hugging her knees. Her life was a living hell right now. Death was definitely better than this. Her life which was once full of roses turned sour overnight. She began reminiscing about the past.
It was just 4 months ago as she recalled when.....
*****
It was evening when She walked into the room she and her twin sister shared. They lived a luxurious life. Even though their dad had passed away, the inheritance he left for them was enough up to their third generation. Her dad was a multi billionaire but unfortunately, the money he had wasn't even able to save him from the hands of death.
Lisa was utterly shocked as she looked around and found her sister ripping out the pages one by one from their album which held their childhood memories.
"Lia stop!" Lisa yelled at her twin sister who looked at her with rage. Lisa immediately walked to her and snatched the album from her ripping it more in the process.
"Get out. Stay away from me. Get out!!!" Lia her twin sister yelled hysterically. She was still traumatized by what had happened to her few months back.
Tears filled Lisa eyes as she was being yelled out. Lia was raped a few months back and that made their siblings and sisterly love to turn sour. Lia accused Lisa of being the one planning her rape because Lisa was jealous.
Everyone believed her because she was traumatized by the incident even though Lisa had tried to clear her name of the accusations. That's was when they were slowly breaking apart.
"Lia, what are you doing? You destroyed our album.....Our memories" Lisa said softly understanding her sister's predicament.
"Memories my foot. You are no longer my sister. Not after everything you did. You destroyed our memories a long time ago" Lia said angrily.
" Now leave" she grabbed Lisa arm and dragged her out of the room.
"Leave? How can I leave you in this state. Come on, let's talk things out" Lia said softly while trying to approach her sister.
"No!! There's nothing to talk about just leave" Lia screamed suddenly making Lisa to halt in her steps
" Why are you doing this to me? We are sisters for Christ sake. Why do you hate me so much?" Lia asked trying to control herself from crying but her cracked voice gave her out.
"sisters you say? Why can't you understand that you are dead to me Lisa. There's no ties or connection between us anymore. I hate you" she snapped. She grabbed her hand and pushed her out of the room before slamming the door against her face.
" Lia, please open the door. We can talk this out. Don't hurt yourself please" Lisa pleaded but her pleads fell on deaf ears.
"I hate you so much Lisa" she yelled from inside. "So much . Just leave.. " Lia yelled even more.
Lisa closed her mouth with her hand trying to control her tears so that she wouldn't cry out.
She rushed out of the house to the bar to grab a drink. Having your own sister hate you to her guts is the worst thing that could ever happen to anybody.
Each day, those were the words Lisa heard her sister say to her.
"I HATE YOU"..... The words kept ringing in her ears as she made her way to the bar and ordered her drink.
Within a few minutes, she was already drunk. She had low tolerance to alcohol unlike Lia.
"Another shot.... Now!!" She yelled at the bartender who lazily brought another round of whiskey for her.
Her eyes watched those who were on the dancing floor, dancing to the beats of the blaring music. But her mind wasn't there. Even though she was drunk, all she could think about was Lia who doesn't let a day pass without proclaiming her hatred to her sister.
Speak of the devil, her phone rang. Drunkily, she reached out for her phone in her pocket dropping her bottle of whiskey.
Her vision was blurry yet she could see the caller.
It was Lia.
She scoffed before answering the call.
"Lisa" her sister voice called softly. Lisa checked the caller again to confirm before rolling her eyes.
Wasn't it the same person who had been harsh to her? Why was she suddenly solemn.
"I need you Sis. Please come" lia said sniffing but Lisa didn't care or maybe the alcohol made her not to care.
"Why? So that you can tell me how much you hate me or yell at me and make me feel guilt like you've always done?!! To hell with you Lia" Lisa replied angrily before cutting the call.
Lia called multiple times which Lisa kept ignoring.
FEW HOURS LATER
Lisa slowly made her way out of the bar back to her car. She felt more alive after drinking and dancing. She was still heavily drunk.
The moment she sat down in the car, she got out her phone to find a text message from Lia.
"Am sorry... For....for .. everything....and..mak...making you feel... guilty...and for.. accusing you of.. my rape...." Lisa read out loud drunkily. She rubbed her eyes trying to clear the alcohol which wasn't working. She could barely see what she was reading from the text.
"....I just...want...you... know....that I love...you... And please... forgive me.... Don't miss...me too much...when am gone. From your.... twin sister... Lia" Lisa concluded but it took her a few minutes for the message to sink in. Her eyes widened on realizing the message.
".... don't miss me too much when am gone..." She read out again. The alcohol gradually clearing from her eyes.
"No no no no. Lia... don't do this to me" she immediately ignited her car and began driving home at full speed not minding the rules.
Soon, she arrived home and immediately rushed inside. She heard a loud scream and immediately climbed the stairs heading for her sister room.
Her eyes nearly popped out of the socket when she found Lia on the floor in her mother arms with foam coming from her mouth and blood running from her nose and ears.
"Lia...."

★★ THE NEXT MORNING★★
The atmosphere felt suffocating in the mansion. Tears and wails could be heard loudly either from her mother or the neighbors who came to sympathetize with them. They cried hard like as though they loved Lia but in fact they didn't. They considered her to be rude and proud.
"How ironic" Lisa said out loud to herself as she listened to the loud crys of others downstairs which was becoming irritating to her. Her eyes were still swollen from crying all night. Her hair was tattered and her face pale.
She just stopped crying a minute ago as though her dam of tears was finished. Inside, she felt heavy heartened. Her heart was still crying for her sister who she lost last night.
"If I knew you'll do this, then I wouldn't have ignored your calls and texts" Lisa said soberly as she stared at the last picture of her and Lia since the others were destroyed yesterday.
She sniffed while caressing Lia face in the picture.
"Am sorry sis" she could feel tears brimming in her eyes again but before they could fall, a knock was heard on the door. She immediately wiped her teary eyes.
"Lisa... You need to leave" her brother Andy who had barged in without waiting for a reply said looking scared. He was panting real hard.
"Andy.... What's going on? You look like you've seen a ghost" Lisa commented confused.
" No time to explain. You need to leave now before they get you here"
"Leave? But why? Explain to me what's going on"
" The cops.. they're coming for you" he managed to say looking back and forth between the door and Lisa.
" The cops?" Lisa asked for confirmation. " Why would they be coming for me? I don't understand" she asked immediately he nodded confirming her question.
" Mom called the cops on you. She said you're responsible for Lia's death. They're on their way. You need to leave" he said panicking even more.
" Why would mom blame me for Lia's death? Am not responsible for it. " Lia said in disbelief. It didn't make sense to her.
"Mom found a letter in your room which Lia wrote indicating that you poisoned her and..."
" Wait what!!" Lisa's eyes widened as she didn't wait for Andy to complete his statement.
"Yes. I was also shocked" Andy admitted.
" Why.... why would Lia do that?"
" No time for this question. You need to le...." Before Andy could complete his statement, the door opened forcefully.
Lisa's eyes widened on seeing 2 cops and her mom who was looking disoriented.
"There she is. The one responsible for my daughter's death." Her mom said pointed at her angrily.
" What...!! "
" Miss Lisa Williams, you are under arrest for the murder of Lia Williams. Please remain silent for anything you do or say maybe used against you in the court of law" the officer ordered and the other officer cuffed her hands.
"No mom.. I didn't do it. I promise.... I didn't" Lisa yelled but her yells fell on deaf ears as she was carried away by the police.
"I've told you countless of times, I didn't do it. I can't murder my own sister" Lisa said wiping her teary eyes.
She was in the interrogation room where she was questioned on why she murdered her own sister. But Lisa didn't bulge from her normal reply which was she didn't kill her own sister but no one was willing to believe her. She was literally accused of poisoning Lia.
She looked at the female cop who has been questioning her. She seemed kind of frustrated that she wasn't getting Lisa to admit she committed the crime.
"Listen to me young miss. All evidence points to you. The letter your late sister wrote and a bottle of poison found in your wardrobe. Plus the tension between you and her before her death and oh..let's not forget that you've been accused of sending thugs to rape her too" The cop stated with a face that Lisa found cringe.
"So how do you expect me to believe that you aren't guilty. Not even the judge will believe that. All evidence points to you" she immediately added.
Lisa looked at her confused and shocked at what she said.
She couldn't believe her own sister had written a letter saying that she poisoned her. What was more confusing was the bottle found in her wardrobe. Her head was suddenly spinning.
"I assure you I don't know how the bottle got there and I didn't send thugs after my sister. I loved her more than I loved myself. Why will I do all this things? " Her tears dropped and the cop sighed.
The cop was about to say something when Lisa spoke up immediately.
"I remember. My phone.. I want my phone. I left the house to the club. And when I left Lia messaged me apologizing for everything. I'll show you... I just need my phone" her phone was the only thing she had as proof. Lia literally apologize to her not to forget that she had called her multiple times .
"You mean this" the cop brought out her phone.
" Yes. " Lisa said exasperatedly. She wanted grab the phone but the cop didn't let her.
"We've already checked it. It's empty. No message found" the cop announced making Lisa confused.
" Huh... How can that be possible? She sent me a message. I know that for sure" her confusion that moment was beyond the seventh heaven. This was the only evidence to clear her name Abit.
"You don't believe me?, Have a look yourself" the cop offered and gave her the phone.
Lisa quickly took it and entered her message box to find it empty. Absolutely no message whatsoever. She immediately went to her call logs. Also empty.
"How is this possible?" Lisa muttered to herself. The cop immediately snatched the phone from her.
"What time did you receive the call and message?" The cop asked.
" About nine I think" Lisa answered calmly.
" And you arrived home when?"
"About ten or thereabout"
" Well....the autopsy says your sister died 2hours before discovered. Your mom found her around ten. This means she died around 8pm so how can a dead person send you a message?" The cop asked leaving Lisa dazed at the explanation.
This means Lia couldn't have sent the message but Lisa was definitely sure she received a message from her. Or was she
"You said you went to club and you were drunk. This means you must have been seeing double that is why you think your late sister messaged you" the female cop analysed thoughtfully.
"You have no evidence which means you did kill your sister. Only that your too stubborn to admit. Tsk tsk." She got up and grabbed Lisa by the hand.
" No I didn't. I promise you I didn't" Lisa yelled but she was pulled anyway to a cell.
Lisa was quite sure she wasn't seeing double. She saw the message. She read the message but it was all gone.Maybe they were right, she was too drunk that she mistaken seeing a message. But what about the call?
She was quite sure she saw Lia calling. As a matter of fact, she answered the call at first and she heard Lia voice.
Or was that all an imagination due to the alcohol she took?
"Hey newbie" she heard a voice call from behind. She found 3 girls sitting and staring at her.
She watched as one got up and approached her slowly.
"You must be the girl who killed her own sister" her fellow cellmate said. Lisa was a bit taken back that other criminals knew about her case even though she was jus brought in an hour ago.
"I didn't kill her" Lisa muttered which her cellmate didn't hear.
"Out of all things I can do, murdering my own sister is certainly not one of them" the cellmate who approached her said and others laughed.
Lisa heart broke into two at their laughter. Everyone already saw her as a girl who killed her own sister.
Her eyes became watery with tears once again.
"Am Celine by the way" the cellmate introduce herself and offered a handshake.
"No thank you" Lisa shook her head and walked to the very end corner of the cell burying her face in her knees
"How prideful of someone who is accused of killing her very own sister" one from the other two cellmate snickered at Lisa.
" No need to worry. Cell life will humble her" all except Lisa had a laugh at the last statement making Lisa cry even more but more silently.
*******
★★THE NEXT DAY★★
"Andy" Lisa whispered as she sat down facing her brother who had come to visit her. She could feel tears filling her eyes and same to Andy. It has barely been twenty four hours that she was released yet he was missing her so badly.
"I told you Lisa. I told you to leave while you still had the chance" he said letting his tears slide down his cheeks.
" No don't cry please" Lisa said raising her hand to wipe his tears while the shackles which connected her hands to her legs made noise.
"I know I know." He said and immediately wiped his tears.
"I didn't killed Lia." Lisa suddenly said and Andy looked at her.
" I know. I believe you. I know you wouldn't do such a thing" hearing those words from her brother made her heart warm. At least someone believed her that she wasn't a murderer.
"Thank you for believing in me" Lisa whispered staring at his brown eyes which he inherited from their dad.
Andy was just five years younger than her. She could remember his birth. Mom and dad were so happy to finally have a baby boy. And so were Lia and Lisa. They would finally have a little brother to take care of and pamper and love and play with. It was everything they ever wanted. Lisa loved him so much right from birth.
Even as they grew, their love didn't dwindled. Andy became closer to Lisa than anyone else. And knowing that he didn't accused her like others did made her have hope. It made her Happy... Extremely happy.
"How's Mom?" Lisa asked but before he could reply, someone jerked him up from the seat.
She looked up to see her mother giving her a cold look. Her eyes were red with both anger and hatred as she stared at Lisa
"Mom" Lisa called out but she didn't reply her. She didn't even bulge.
"Andy ... Why are you communicating with a murderer?" Her mom spoke up finally directing the question to Andy but her gaze never left Lisa's own.
"Mom, Lisa didn't kill Lia" Andy defended immediately.
"Keep quiet. What do you know? Didn't you read Lia's letter along side see the poison bottle? " She asked angrily almost yelled.
" I know but.... "
" It's okay Andy" Lisa immediately interrupted. " I didn't kill Lia mom. Believe me" Lisa said sadly.
Her own mother too were among her accusers. Nothing.. absolutely nothing hurt more than this.
"Shut up. You did. I can't believe you could do this to your own flesh and blood" her mom half yelled not wanting to attract attention.
" But mom... " Tears choked Lisa voice not enabling her to speak.
"I hope you rot here in jail" her mom hissed before grabbing Andy hand and leaving.
A cell guard grabbed Lisa and pulled her away back to her cell not minding her tears or saying any comforting words to her. He didn't have to anyway.
★★3 MONTH LATER★★
Jail certainly wasn't a place for Lisa. One could tell by just looking at her. Her body was pale with rashes and bug stings, her hair was quite messy with chewing gum in it. Her lips too had injuries and dry blood on it which she got from the bullies who had beaten her up. Her jail cloth were torn in so many places but no one bothered about that. She was seen as a criminal afterall.
In jail, everyone had their different category according to your crime and with different level of punishment. Easy, hard and extremely hard. And being accused of murder, her category of punishment was extremely hard not minding the fact that she was a girl.
So many people fell into this category including rapist and they were quite much that it shocked Lisa at first but gradually, she got accustomed to it.
Lisa was doing the manual labour giving to her by the jail warden. Her hand were chained with big rocks attached to the end of the chain making her movement slow and heavy. She was done with her portion and immediately grabbed her plate to get her food.
She has been starving for 3days straight. Why? Because others kept snatching her food after beating her. She had once reported to the jail warden but they paid deaf ears and instead mocked.
"That's what benefits a murder. You better get used to it cause you'll be here for a long time" those were the exact words of the jail warden to her.
After every beating, Lisa would only cry herself to sleep and await the horrors of the next day.
She joined the queue of others and the moment it reached her turn, she was served a bowl of soup. Actually, she didn't really know what she was served. It was quite weird to look at even but she wouldn't be given any other thing and jail food was served once in a day after labour.
The moment she carried her food and began walking away, she fell a slight push from behind making her trip and her soup pouring completely.
She looked up to see Brinda, her biggest bully in the prison who didn't miss any opportunity to harm her. She was the reason for her injured lips and the chewing gum in her hair.
"Weakling" Brinda mocked and walked away stylishly leaving Lisa on the floor helpless.
"Are you okay?" Celine said offering her hand to Lisa which she took.
"Am fine, I think" she added getting up with the help of Celine.
Truthfully,Celine had become her friend with the little time she spent in jail and she was always grateful to her.
"Don't mind that...that...she goat" Celine finally said after thinking of what noun to call Brinda.
"Its okay. Am lucky she didn't beat me up today." Lisa replied calmly.
" Thank goodness. Here, let's share my soup" Celine offered but Lisa immediately shook her head.
"No. It's your meal after all the work,I can't take it. You know you won't get another one for the rest of the day" Lisa reasoned but Celine also shook her head.
" I know but what about you. You too won't get any till tomorrow. Come on, let's share. I don't mind" Celine said softly. Her words pricked Lisa heart.
Celine was so kind hearted which made Lisa wonder why she was in jail. Although Celine Already told her. She had murdered her mother's boyfriend.
Her dad passed away and in not less than 6months, her mother brought another man saying he would be her new father, Her stepfather. Celine loathed the man. She tried to change her mom's mind but she wouldn't agree so she had no other choice than to kill him which she was arrested for and that's why she ended up here.
"No Celine. Besides, I've lost my appetite. Just eat your food okay?" Lisa said and patted her hair before leaving for her cell.
"Miss Williams" Lisa turned to see a female cop approaching her before she could enter her cellroom.
"Yes"
"Follow me" the cop ordered and Lisa immediately followed her. She led her to a room.
The officer got a key and began unlocking the chackles on her hand and leg.
Lisa looked at her confused but didn't say anything.
"You have been released. You'll be heading home soon" the cop answered her questions and Lisa looked at her surprised..
She was released. She was going home away from this Terrible place. She was finally free.
But why?
Wasn't she supposed to spend life imprisonment for murder so how come? Was she finally proven innocent? Or was she pardon by the state or something?
Nothing made sense but nevertheless, she was happy.
"Go in there and take your bath" the officer led her into a Smaller room which she entered and found a shower and soap.
She immediately took her bath, washing her body thoroughly. She came out naked but the female cop was gone. However she found a gown on a small table and a scissors. She immediately wore the gown and trimmed out the chewing gum from her hair.
She looked at her skin. Although the bug bites and injuries were still there,no doubt they'll eventually go.
"You ready?" She heard the cop asked and she turned nodding.
"Good. Let's go. Your driver is waiting" joy overflowed in her as she followed the cop outside.
But then she remembered someone.
Celine...her only close friend. She turned wanting to go back and say goodbye but she saw her a little distance away.
She waved at her enthusiastically.
"Am happy for you" she mouthed with a smile with Lisa returned and waved at her. She finally turned and left with happiness.
********
★★TWO DAYS LATER★★
When she got home, she didn't see her mom but however she met Andy who was quite happy to see her. And so was Lisa. She never thought she would leave prison so soon but she did and she couldn't be more happy than that.
Today was her mom birthday and her mom would also be returning from wherever she went. Lisa asked Andy who told her that he had no idea where their mother went but she had assured him of coming in two days time which was today.
And on a better note, today was her mom birthday. Lisa immediately set to make her a birthday cake to welcome her back. And also for appeasement.
Baking was one of Lisa favorite hobby and for the fact that she is doing it for her mother made her very Happy.
She hummed and sang as she baked the cake. She put in so much love.
"Happy birthday dearest mother" Lisa wrote on the cake in bold italics.
" Perfect" she commented.
Soon she heard the gates opening and she immediately guessed it was her mother
"Just on time. I hope she likes it" Lisa said to herself. Hoping so much.
She packaged the cake and waited a bit. She looked at the birthday cake before carrying and heading for the sitting room where her brother and mother was. Her heart was slamming against her chest as she thought of ways to give her her cake.
She wasn't sure if her mom would want to celebrate it. Because she didn't normally celebrate it these previous years since her father's death but then, she was welcoming her.
" Stop being scared Lisa. She is my mother afterall and I love her no matter what and she loves me too" Lisa tried convincing herself as she held the cake heading for the door. She has never felt this nervous in her entire life. It was probably because her mom thought of her as Lia's murderer and Lisa certainly wasn't sure if her mentality has changed.
But then, the driver said it was her mom who pulled a few strings to get her out of jail. She must have surely forgiven her. Right?
"...happy birthday to you.. long life and prosperity... Hip hip hip hooray..." She heard her brother and maid conclude the birthday song for her mom.
She would have been part of the singing but....
"And now... Time to cut your cake mom" she heard her brother Andy say from inside and she knew it was her cue to enter.
Praying and hoping mom doesn't reject her cake, she slowly opened the door with one hand while holding on to the cake in the other hand.
"Oh Lord, pls let her accept it." she prayed silently.
Lisa entered the sitting room fully and watched as her mom smiling face turned sour on spotting her. She forced a smile to her face and mustered courage to move closer to her.
"Happy birthday Mom" Lisa wished her sincerely with a smile. Andy and the maid made way for her to go towards her mom
"Keep it to yourself. I don't need your wishes." She said with anger and glared at her.
" I don't need your damn cake. Get out of my sight with this poison you call cake" she suddenly yelled when Lisa made no response to her first statement.
Lisa felt her heart shattering into a million pieces as she heard those words. But she tried to compose myself.
"She is still angry at me". Lisa said in her mind biting her lip mindlessly.
She dropped the cake and lit the candle that was on it.
"At least, blow the candle and make a wish mom even if you don't eat the cake" Lisa said with pleading eyes hoping she would agree. Nothing would make her happier if she agreed.
A smirk graced her lips as she stared at Lisa hatefully.
"I wish you die a cruel death just as you murdered your sister" her voice was laced with so much venom as she spoke to Lisa .
Lisa tried to control the tears that were threatening to fall. Her Mom still blamed me for Lia's sister death till date. She hated her more than ever.
But Lisa loved Lia with her life.
"Just go to hell with your cake" her mom yelled and threw the cake down.. everything scattering.
Lisa looked at the cake hurtfully as a tears slide down her cheeks.
"But mom, Lisa spent time and money on the cake and also love. You shouldn't waste it" Andy spoke up defending lisa and what Happened next was definitely unexpected.
Lisa and the maid gasped as her mom slapped Andy right across the face. He held his cheeks, Tears brimming in his eyes.
"How dare you talk back at me?" She lashed at him and was about to hit him again when Lisa stepped in the way.
He was only trying to defend her but she took out her anger on him. He was the only one who didn't blame me for my twin sister. If anything, he has been there for her Even though she was older with 5years, he always shared and understood my sorrows.
And now because of her, her mom had to hit him. Something she has never done since he was birthed.
"Please don't hit him. Hit me instead" Lisa pleaded closing her eyes waiting for the sting of her palms on my face but it never came.
She heard the door slam shut. She immediately guessed Andy left the room because mom hit him.
"Get out of my sight" she said turning her back on her.
This was enough prove for lisa. She still care and love her even though she's angry. She can't even bring herself to hit her own daughter. Only daughter
"But mom..." Lisa opened her mouth to say something but she turned to face her. Her eyes red with tears in them.
"Don't ever call me that again. You lost the right to call me that when you murdered my child" she yelled painfully.
Lisa could literally feel and hear the pain in her voice.
"And knowing that you have her face is Killing me inside. I see her everywhere"
"I'll never forgive you for killing her. Never. You aren't my daughter, your a murderer" she yelled even more.
Lisa heart clenched at her words as she cried silently while staring at her.
"If you really want to give me a birthday gift, bring back my child you took" she yelled hatefully.
" You killed your own sister. You are a murderer. A bloody murderer" she screamed with anger and rushed to the bathroom slamming the door.
"Miss... Are you..."Lisa felt Sarah our maid touch her shoulder but she bolted out of the room before she could complete her statement.
She ran out the house as she always did when she felt hurt and sad. She didn't even know where she was going. All she knew is her legs were running. Running into the unknown.
Her mother's words kept resounding in her ears. It was worst than Lia's words and it pained more.
' you killed your own sister'
'you are a murderer'
'... A bloody murderer..' her words echoed in Lisa ears.
Her tears never stopped even though she was running with the wind slapping her face. She never stopped. Not until she got to the cemetery.
The cemetery where Lia was buried.
She fell on her knees as she cried harder touching her grave.
"I wish I could turn back the hands of time. I wish I could bring you back. I wish everything was back to normal. Why did you have to leave? Why? " Lisa lamented crying harder.
Ever since Lia was raped, I was blamed. She hated me so much. The love they shared, the bond everything died.
She needed her but Lisa wasn't there for her. It's all because of m
Her. If only she had been with her the day she was raped, the rape would never have happened
"Mom's right. Am a murderer" she cried
***
Lisa returned home late in the evening. She looked terrible. Her hair was unkept not as worse as when she was in jail but still...and her face had tried up tears on it and her face and eyes were red from crying so much. Her clothes had dirts on them from kneeling and lying down on the cemetery ground
She didn't bother to wash her face before walking home. Neither did she care about the people who gossip when they saw how she looked. Sadness and sorrows filled her heart. What people said just didn't matter now.
She walked in the house and found her mom in the sitting room anticipating her return.
"Where did you go?" Mom asked approaching her. Her face looked void of emotions.
