Tamed by Alpha's forbidden love

Author: : Angelina Bhardawaj
Genre: Werewolf
Pain, Sadness, loneliness. That's exactly what defined Avyanna Roosevelt's life. Every time she would change her pack, people would bully her for her unethical birth origins. She was weak, well at least for the world, who didn't know what she was. Her mother hated her, because, for her, she was a bastard child, the result of a drunk one night stand. Life was cruel to her, but she was a survivor, and the only thing she wanted was to complete her education and live among humans. However, all her plans came crashing when her grandmother died and she was asked to move into her mother's new husband's home, in the Enceladus pack, the strongest pack in the world. She had thought she would meet the coldest and cruellest alpha, worsening her life even more, but what she didn't expect was to meet an extremely caring and overprotective man, her stepbrother. She thought she would leave in peace after completing her education, until one day her brother came to her and spoke. "In this world, you are mine to protect, mine to care for, and only mine to love. I won't think twice to rip out the heart that will try to beat for you," he growled before biting her neck.

Chapter 1 Move to a new pack

Chapter-1

AVYANNA ERRYN ROOSEVELT'S POV

"No. No, please don't do this to me! I beg you. I am not at fault. I didn't know anything about it," I pleaded to the people who were once my friends and were looking at me as if I was some kind of scum.

"Let you go? Do you think it's so easy? Not only did you ruin our reputation by becoming friends with us, but you dare to pretend that you know nothing about it? How dare you touch me and my friends and eat with us like you are some normal wolf? You haven't changed into your wolf, no? You are nothing but a girl without a wolf! A weakling! And I do not have the heart to keep the weak with me," Camille said as she kicked me in my ribs, making me cough blood.

Yes. It was my fourteenth birthday today, and to add more to my miserable life, my wolf refused to come out and transform, making me a lantern in everyone's eyes.

"Camilla? You are beating her for only that? Don't you know? The news has spread like wildfire. My dad told me his friend hooked up with her mother last night, and she told him that this girl doesn't have a true Father. She is a bastard," Camille's side chick said, making her eyes darken further, and I squinted in my position, trying to form a cocoon to protect myself from more pain to my ribs as I felt like vomiting blood.

"Please, listen to me. I didn't know anything about it until last night," I lied to protect myself.

How am I supposed to tell them that I deliberately hid the truth about my existence so that I could make a few friends?

"You bitch! Do you think I would believe you now? No wonder your mother never liked you! I used to pity you earlier, but now I think you deserve it all!" She shouted at me before she nodded at her friends, who started beating me mercilessly, making me scream in agony as I cried and begged them to stop.

"Girls, tear her clothes. Since she is a bastard, she doesn't have any dignity, and I am sure the boys will love some nice view," Camille said, looking at me with disgust, and I widened my eyes in horror as I looked at the crowd forming as I was being beaten, probably to death.

"No! I beg you! Please, spare me," I coughed blood, kneeling in front of them with the little energy I had.

Gasp!!

"Damn it!" I shouted, feeling my nose clogged with water, making me cough as I glared at the culprit.

"Seriously? Was that necessary?" I asked her, and she shrugged.

"It's not like you left me with any other choice. You have been screaming and going on and on with it since I came here. I tried waking you up, okay? Anyway, what was it all about?" Maddie asked me, and I sighed.

"I am sorry for worrying you again," I said, going towards the bathroom to wash my face.

"Avy, why don't you consult our pack doctor before you go? You have been having these dreams since you entered this pack. And judging from your condition, they are getting worse, aren't they?" She asked, and I sighed.

"It will be okay. Just grandma's death and Brian's betrayal have gotten stuck in my head, creating fake scenarios about blood and everything. Maybe it will all get better with the change of place?" I lied, not wanting to share the tragic dream that was a sad memory of my life.

I still feel like choking every time I see that time. I have never been humiliated in my life more than I had been that day.

Honestly, I don't even know what has me going on and continuing my life after all the humiliation and hatred I always receive from people around me.

Was it the desire for love? The hope that maybe one day someone would love me more than anything in the whole world? Maybe I will find someone for whom I will be his/her priority? Or maybe because I crave to see my wolf? I don't know what it exactly was. However, it was definitely related to love.

And till I will find the answer to this question, I was ready to be a fighter.

"Don't take that stupid's name in front of me. If I knew he would turn out to be that kind of guy, I would've never introduced you to him," She growled in anger, and I chuckled at her petite form, which was looking like a red chilly with her face going all red.

"Stop it, Maddie. It's not like you don't know. Everyone thinks that I am a lantern because no one has seen my wolf. I am glad his true colors showed before we got further into the relationship. Anyone would prefer strength and beauty over a mediocre girl like me," I said before walking towards the closet to take out my outfit for today.

"Seriously, Avy? Mediocre? You are one of the most powerful girls in the pack, not to mention your thigh-length brown hair and cat-like eyes that even have me swooning over you. You are everything a guy will ever need and desire. It's just that you don't like to show off your features, and honestly, I prefer it that way. I don't want to give this to anyone casually like those barbies," Maddie said as she slapped my ass on my way out, making me scowl.

"Seriously, the confidence you have in me is questionable even for me," I commented.

"Avy, I will miss you," She said, coming from behind me as she hugged me.

"I will miss you too, Maddie. I wish I was of legal age to be able to decide where to live. Now that my grandma is dead, I do not have any choice but to obey my mother and follow her wherever she wants," I said, and she scoffed.

"Yeah, the same mother who keeps forgetting she has a daughter and can't wait to get rid of her," Maddie said, and I bit my lips.

Well, that hurt a little. However, everything she said was indeed true.

My mother or that's what I have been told all my life she was, never loved me.

From the age I started understanding things, all I have heard from her are curses about me being born. And why wouldn't she? After all, I was the biggest black spot to her life and reputation.

I was a bastard child. A token of her lustful night with God knows whom.

No one knows who my father is, including my mom. She just says she was drunk the night she conceived me. I don't even understand why she gave birth to me if I was nothing more than an unwanted pregnancy to her. And to add more to the shame, my wolf thought it was fun to keep hiding and make me a lantern in front of everyone.

It was a good thing that my physical strength was better than any other normal she-wolf, and thus, everyone in this pack has been under the impression that I just don't want to change for the past three years.

"I am sorry, Avy. I shouldn't be speaking ill of her like this," Maddie said, breaking me out of my thoughts, and I smiled sadly.

Of course, she would say that. She doesn't know the relationship between me and my mother, and I preferred it that way.

In my last pack when people came to know about it, let's just say, things didn't go exactly well for me, and my grandma had to come to my rescue, saving both, my sanity and my life.

That was also the last time people saw the polite and humble Avyanna.

Sometimes, to protect yourself from becoming the weak shuttle of society, you have to become or pretend to be the strongest of all, hiding your fears deep inside your bones for others to never find out who you are. Because you know, if others find out about your fears and secrets, they will use every single opportunity to bully you and keep themselves entertained.

Sometimes being pretentious was better than being weak.

No? I wish I could say I was pretending to be strong because maybe, things would become easy for me.

For me, hiding my powers was a tougher task. They don't know that every time someone tries to piss me off, I have to use every ounce of my patience to not retaliate and kill.

This want to kill is not new, and I guess it started three years ago when I started to observe what I can do with my powers, that I was not normal.

"Let's go. You need to collect your documents and say your goodbyes to everyone, no?" She said before kissing my cheeks like an elder sister, and I nodded at her before hugging her.

I will honestly miss her a lot.

After reaching the school grounds, the first thing I did was meet my homeroom teacher to collect the documents.

Taking a deep breath, I waited outside the staff room as she prepared my transfer papers.

Honestly speaking, even if grandma died, and I practically have no guardian here, I was still willing to do anything to not move with my mom and her new family.

And it wasn't only because of her indifference or lack of love towards me. It was mainly because of her new family.

Did I mention her husband is the former alpha of the strongest pack in the world? And that alpha has a son? Not a small kid, but a grown-ass man, the current alpha of the Enceladus Pack, the one, who is most feared in the world.

He lives to his reputation of being ruthless, and with the airing stories of how he kills without blinking his eyes, I don't doubt he was anything less than a demon.

I can survive if I stay clear of him, right? Well that was what I had thought until my mom dropped another bomb on me. To mingle his and ally packs with humans, he teaches in a human school, and not only that, my mom completed the admission processes without my knowledge, and I am going to study where he teaches, and probably become his student too.

"Avy, take your documents. I hope you won't have trouble with your new pack. You wouldn't want to shame your mother, right?" My homeroom teacher said, smirking at me, and I smiled before snatching the documents.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Can. I will not shame my mother by hooking up with my new dad at least," I smiled, her shocked and angered eyes a little too pleasing to my eyes.

It was no news that her daughter slept with her husband and was probably still in bed together.

"You!" Mrs. Can said before dropping her gaze when she looked around us, making me smile wider.

"Let's not spill the family beans in front of everyone now, yeah?" I calmly said, walking away from her desk.

"Woah! That was some sass there," Ashton said before placing his hand on my shoulder, and I smiled.

He was another guy, who is my best friend, and loves me to bits apart from Maddie.

Three years ago, when I entered this pack after swearing that I will never let anyone walk over me, and will make sure I use my power if someone tried to lay their hand on me again, and won't let the events of what happened in the canopy pack repeat, he was the first guy I met.

Avyanna, the ruthless bitch. That's what they have been calling me for the last three years after I had punched the Alpha's son, right in the eye on the first day I came here, which I must mention is my best friend, and the same guy, who has his hand on my shoulders now.

He became best friends with me because he thinks no one has ever been true with their feelings around him apart from me, and he loved that about me.

I honestly think my punch had played with some wires in his head, but who cares as long as I am getting a good friend?

Chapter 2 Handsome step brother

Chapter-2

Avyanna Erryn ROOSEVELT'S POV

"Hello? To earth, Miss Avy. Did you go to your fantasy land again? I asked what time you were leaving. I asked my dad, and he said it's okay if I go and drop you at your new pack," Ashton said, and I sighed.

"Ashton, we have been through this talk already. You don't have to go through so much hassle. I have traveled around earlier too and -"

"I know you can handle yourself pretty well since that's what you've been doing your whole life. I have heard those repeated lines many times. But I want to do it, okay? Please? I know it might sound a bit cheesy, but I want to spend these last moments with you. I don't even know why you agreed to leave. My dad and mom were ready to keep you at our home. If your new dad hasn't called him and asked for your transfer, I swear my mother wouldn't have -"

"Hey, it's alright. Your dad is an alpha. He has a duty to do. He can't do anything about it. Honestly, earlier, I thought he was the one who suggested to my mother that I should live with them. I didn't know my new dad was so eager to get me. Maybe I can have a little chance at family love?" I said, his sad eyes making me sigh.

I seriously hate when people that I care about get sad because of something related to me.

"You do know I am not taking you with me if you look at me like this, right?" I asked before rolling my eyes, and he chuckled awkwardly before holding my hand and pulling me in for a hug.

Holding me tightly, he kissed my temple before pulling away and looking me in the eyes.

"I swear if I was of age, then I would've declared you as my mate already. Why the hell did my parents not have me a year earlier?!" He groaned while looking in the sky, and I could only chuckle at his words before patting his chest.

"It's okay, Ash. Maybe that's what fate wanted. Fate wanted us to meet like this, and depart in the witness of the blossoming smiling flowers that look at us and become -" I started dramatically.

"Stop, okay? I got it. You don't need to go all nerdy on me," he said before laughing, making me laugh in return as I hooked my arms around his neck and pulled his cheeks adoringly.

"Honestly, I don't even know if I will be able to get a friend like you there. If I knew Brian was a jerk like this, I would've rather gone for you than him," I said with a dry chuckle.

Of course, that was just a lie to console him so that he doesn't get teary, making me turn polite, a thing that I wasn't used to anymore.

"Don't! Don't you dare make a friend like me, okay? And don't you dare think about that scumbag who didn't deserve you from the very beginning. Besides, we are friends forever. You promised me that, remember? And as a friend who has your best interest in mind, I forbid you to get too cozy and familiar with that pack and its people. You are coming here with me after a year," Ashton said, and I smiled before shaking my head.

"Yeah, I remember. Also, do you think I will be able to live peacefully when my mom is in the same house? However, I would still suggest you start looking for a girlfriend now that I will be gone. Maybe you will get a good girl here who is compatible to be your mate and the love of your life. I mean, look at me. Who am I? A bastard child -" I started with dry humor.

"Let's go. We will get late if we don't leave now," Ashton said, cutting me off in between, with a hint of anger, making me sigh. It has become his habit to dodge this conversation no matter how much I try to make him understand that he is the future alpha, and no one will approve of my friendship with him.

Sitting inside the car, I smiled at him, looking at the pack one last time, sad that I honestly had no one by my side to come and tell me they'll miss me.

"Is Maddie not coming?" I asked Ashton, and he smiled helplessly, making me nod my head.

I understand. Her parents never approved of her friendship with me.

Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes before mentally saying goodbye to the old pack.

Enceladus Pack. I hope you are ready to welcome the disaster that is coming to you. I thought as my sad smile turned to a wicked one, as I leaned my head on Ashton's shoulder, ready to sleep for the 6 hours ride.

After 6 hours~~

"What are you thinking about? Is it something along the lines of how you'll miss a handsome guy with the name Ashton?" Ashton asked, and I chuckled at him.

"Seriously? I am thinking about you? Do you think my standards are so low?" I asked, and Ashton nudged me playfully before looking at me with wide eyes feigning hurt, making me roll my eyes in return.

"You wounded my pride. Only a kiss on my cheeks can fix this now," He said, and I chuckled as he joked around to improve my mood.

"Kiss my ass. All you'll get is a kick in the butt," I said, and he chuckled before shaking his head.

"However, you are right. Maybe I will miss the guy with the name Ashton, but it's not like I can do something about it. Maybe I'll just punch a few guys around and make new friends again. So don't worry about me and go without any remorse," I said, and he chuckled at my words, remembering the time when I had punched him, and the next thing he did was ask me to become his friend.

The memory that was supposed to be a humiliation for him was one of his best memories according to him.

After some time, he squinted his brows before looking at the guard, whose approval we were waiting for so that we could enter the pack.

Once the guard gave us the green signal, Ashton asked the guard for directions before driving in.

To say I was impressed with the way the pack was played out would be an understatement.

It was fabulous. The amount of greenery was especially refreshing after living in the packs that look like human civilization.

It was strangely calming my nerves as I had always felt a connection with nature.

Like I belong with it. Maybe it was because of the special powers that I have? Whatever it was, now that I look at the greenery around here, I don't think it will be too hard to survive here.

"Why the hell are there so many forests here?" Ashton said aloud before grunting as we got down from the car, making me chuckle. I am sure he is jealous because he knows how much I love forests and everything.

"You must be Avyanna. The alpha will be here shortly," A guy suddenly said, almost making me jump because of the sudden intrusion, making Ashton tighten his hold on my waist.

"Relax, no one is going to hurt you," Ashton whispered in my ears, and I had the urge to roll my eyes at him. However, I resorted to taking a deep breath before nodding my head.

It looks like he thinks I was scared because this guy sneaked upon me.

Taking a calming breath to keep my emotions in check, I mustered up the most innocent yet confident look before looking at him.

"And you are?" I asked, smiling politely, taking in the appearance of the new guy.

'Innocent my ass. If they came to know who you are, they'll be tucking their tails between their legs,' My so-called wolf said, and I bit my lips helplessly at her comment.

"I am Alex, the beta of this pack," He said before extending his hand that I shook firmly.

"Nice to meet you, future alpha," Alex said to Ashton, who looked at him warily before nodding and shaking his head.

Seeing his edgy stance, I placed my hand on his chest before patting him.

"Hey, don't be like this. I am fine. I was just taken by surprise. Don't worry. If you want, then you can leave. It is getting late anyway. You don't need to stay and -"

"I will leave once the alpha is here. It is not right manners to enter another pack and return without meeting the alpha when he is present in the pack," Ashton explained, and I nodded my head before turning around as I distanced myself from him just in time when I saw a man coming towards us.

And heavens forbid me, but to say I was amazed would be an understatement.

'Wow, what a Greek god! The kind of handsomeness I will approve of you,' My wolf said, making me look at her in annoyance.

'He is supposed to be my brother, stupid. Get your hormones together,' I reprimanded her, and she pouted her lips before huffing loudly.

Honestly, it doesn't matter if I reprimand my wolf. What she said wasn't exactly wrong. Now I know why the guy was called one of the most handsome men. His jet black hair with light brown eyes that looked like having a depth and mystery of the ocean caught my eyes.

He looked at me so mysteriously and deeply, that for a moment I felt scared. Not because of his powerful aura, but because I was scared he would peel my defenses and know who I was.

"Alpha," Alex nodded to him. However, he didn't look at him. His eyes were fixated on me as he did a once over of me, making me raise my brows.

"Ashton," The alpha nodded at him, and Ashton nodded back before kissing my forehead one last time.

"I am just a call away if you feel uncomfortable here, okay?" Ashton said, making me nod my head as he sat in his car and drove away, leaving me in this unknown territory by myself now.

Huh, here starts my new life with a new identity and new pretentious methods to conceal how defective I and my wolf are.

'Hey! You can't call me defective. Just because I haven't taken over you completely, you can't call me that. It makes me feel weird,' My wolf said, and I rolled my eyes at her before scoffing.

'Yeah sure. I'll call you whatever I want. If you want to fight with me, then come out,' I said, and she puffed her cheeks like every time before sitting like an angry panda, making me chuckle before I coughed a bit as I remembered I wasn't alone.

Chapter 3 Live besides Evan's room

Chapter-3

AVYANNA ERRYN ROOSEVELT'S POV

"Miss Avyanna Roosevelt, right?" I heard the deep manly voice from beside me, making me take a deep calming breath and turn my head to look at my brother before I involuntarily took a step back when I saw how close he was.

Damn! Even his voice is so deep, manly, and -

'Sexy? Worth moaning over?' My wolf suggested, and I bit my lips before sighing helplessly.

'Annoying would be the best term to define both you and him. Now can you shut up? Or if you have better plans, then why don't you come out and talk to him in my place?' I said, and it was enough for her to shut up.

Turning around to my left, I noticed Alex was nowhere in sight, leaving me and the alpha, aka, my stepbrother alone.

"That's right. Hello, stepbrother," I said, smiling at him, and he smiled back at me before nodding his head as if amused before shaking his head.

"You are an interesting one," He said as if it had some hidden meaning before turning around, making me squint my brows.

Wait. What was that even supposed to mean? Was it a compliment? Or some kind of insinuation?

"What is that even supposed to mean, alpha brother?" I asked, deliberately using the title to have the status and relationship clear in my head, and he chuckled, his chuckle making me feel a bit fuzzy, which I know wasn't a good thing.

He is definitely an off-zone trouble that I can't provoke. According to the rumors, apart from being the strongest alpha at the moment, he is also a devil, and having him disclose me and my personality will be the last thing I would ever want, not to mention when this guy is now my mom's new son and probably wouldn't wait and hesitate to snitch on me to my mother.

"You can call me Evander, Evan, or Maximus if my title and our relationship make you uncomfortable. And I was talking about your wolf. You haven't shifted yet, right? You are a lantern," He said more than asked, and I widened my eyes at his words.

Woah. The way he is so confident about it was indeed worth praising. And how was he able to make it out so soon? Do I give off lantern vibes?

"It's not like calling you by a different name will change our relationship. However, if you want me to call you by another name, how about I call you lavender?" I asked, ignoring his words, bumping my head into his back when he stopped abruptly.

Closing my eyes slightly as his scent wafted through my nostrils, I enjoyed it for a few seconds before taking a deep breath to get over it. If my wolf saw me inhaling his intoxicating scent, I am sure she is going to start her nonsense again.

"Seriously? Lavender? What am I to you? Your elder sister?" He asked, ignoring the matter altogether that I was happy for before scoffing as the pain in my nose kicked in. His body is definitely made of steel.

"You could've warned, you know," I said while massaging my nose as I looked up at him, taking his facial features.

His light-brows eyes have a depth that makes you uncomfortable and wants to drown in them altogether. He has a jawline as sharp as I have never seen, jet black hair styled nicely, his Adam's apple that looked like just a perfect arc waiting for a touch -

"Are you checking me out?" He asked, bringing me out of my thoughts, and I looked at him before scoffing.

"You wish I was. I am just trying to remember your face and checking if it's something I will be glad to look at for the rest of the year. Aren't you going to be my teacher?" I asked before stepping close to him.

"Besides, if I was checking you out, your face won't be the thing I would be interested in," I said, poking his biceps and his slightly raised eyes, which made me smile as I entered the house with my backpack.

I know I shouldn't have said those words to my stepbrother, who can use every single opportunity to bully me and make me regret things, but it's not like three years of habit will die in a few hours.

I can control whatever weird powers I have, or that's what my wolf calls them, but it doesn't mean I can control my sarcastic mouth. Besides, I can always leave if we don't get together, no? I am sure a devil, who is used to peace, won't like keeping a troublesome girl like me around him.

"So, where is the woman who gave birth to me?" I asked, and I heard a loud drawn-out sigh from behind me.

"You could've just asked where your mom is," he said, and I smiled at him.

"Mom? She was never my mom. Mother? Yes. Mom? Never. That's a talk I wouldn't want to have with a person I barely know and doesn't have an intention of knowing either. Besides, I won't be living here. I heard my so-called 'mom' arranged for my education in the human school. I am sure there are plenty of dorms nearby that I can accommodate," I said, and he looked at me as if judging me.

"What are you looking at?" I asked as I sat on the couch, more like plopped on it in an unladylike manner.

"You are kind of cute when you try to act all tough and rude about your mother," He said with a smile, and I couldn't help but raise my eyes as I coughed to digest what he said.

Seriously? Is this what he has to say after I am being like this? How does this man's brain even work? Shouldn't he be thinking about how bitchy I am rather than praising my cuteness? Or is that the demons have a weird sense of cute things?

"I.. uhh... thanks? Anyway, coming back to the topic, since my mom isn't here, and she couldn't just wait for me even after knowing her daughter was coming today and went out to enjoy instead, I don't see why I should be staying here waiting for her. It was nice meeting you, Mr. Sterling," I said before standing and was about to turn to the door to leave when he held my hand to stop me, making me look at him shocked as I felt weird shocks in my body.

Woah. What was that all about? I thought.

'Is this what we call electric shocks of love and pleasure?' My wolf asked me, and I rolled my eyes.

'You seriously can't wait for me to claim a mate soon, no? You are one desperate wolf. I am not eighteen yet, remember?' I said before sighing.

I am sure those are tingles of fear that any normal wolf will feel in front of a demon-like him.

"Where will you go? You know nothing around here," He said, his eyes squinted, making him look a bit cute, and I smiled genuinely this time.

I guess strangers are more worried about me than blood. Even the demon is concerned about me more than my mom.

"Thanks for showing me the concern that my mother doesn't, but living alone has made me learn a thing or two. I will survive just fine. If she is back and asks you if I was here, don't tell her I came here and waited for her. Just tell her I called and informed you I was already here," I told him, and he looked at me for quite a few seconds, not saying anything, unnerving me in the process.

"Why would you lie to your mother? What if she gets worried?" He asked, looking genuinely confused, making me sigh as I found him a bit too cute than I should.

I think the change of place is playing with my head. How can a demon be cute?

"Mr. Evan, I think you are mature enough to know things aren't well between me and my mom. I don't know how much she shared with you guys, but there isn't exactly a mother-daughter bond between us. There was never this thing called love between us," I said and was about to turn to leave when I heard the front door of the house opening and then closing.

"Honey, I told you we will go to that island this time and -" A man walked inside before pausing as he looked at me wide-eyed.

"Honey, look. Our daughter Avyanna finally decided to come live with us," he exclaimed, making me look at Evan, who had a mischievous smile on his face, making me realize he must've told his father about me being here beforehand.

"You!" I murmured under my breath, and he shrugged his shoulders before walking ahead.

Looking in the front, I looked at my so-called mom, who didn't have any expression on her face, and then at my new father, who was beaming with happiness.

Rushing towards me, he hugged me tightly, making me almost choke on my breath as I looked at Evan for help.

"Dad, you will crush her bones," Evan said after a few seconds, making my new father release me before he looked at me with an unadulterated gaze of pure affection, something I wasn't used to.

"Avy, I never had a daughter and always wondered how great it would be if I had one. Looking at you standing here just fulfilled my wish. Wait. When did you come? I am sure you must be feeling tired. Have you picked a room already? We have 10 rooms in our house apart from the ones taken, which one would you like to take?" He asked me with hope and expectancy in his eyes, and I looked at him before gulping, not knowing what to do.

When I had imagined the former alpha of the strongest pack and my stepbrother, I had never imagined I would meet an immensely loving father and a genuinely caring being like my brother, who is otherwise called a demon.

I wasn't used to being cared for or being concerned for, and standing here while this man looked at me with so much fatherly affection, was making me nervous as I didn't know how to react anymore.

I had honestly thought I would just live outside the house, mind my business and leave after I turned eighteen was an easy job.

However, now that I look at them with this guy looking at me like this, how am I supposed to say anything to him?

"Actually, I was hoping if I could -"

"She wants the one with the large windows. She told me this a few minutes ago when I asked her the same question," Evan cut me off, making me look at him with shock.

'Hey! Why would you do that! You just ruined my plans!' These were the things I wanted to shout at him, but the smirk on his face as if he knew I won't be able to refute just made me grit my teeth instead.

"Well, the room with the largest windows is Evans and the one beside him. Why don't you take that one? I am sure Evan would love to have someone besides him since we are out of town most of the time and he is left alone in the house," Alpha said, and I looked at Evans awkwardly, who now had a casual smirk on his face, a smirk that was way too sexy but annoying at the same time.

Am I supposed to say yes? How can I? I wasn't even planning to stay here, let alone in the room beside him. He isn't planning to torture me for the rest of the year, right?

"I actually -" I started again.

"I think you are right, dad. She would love it. I will make sure she is not short of anything either," Evans said, and I looked at him with a sigh before nodding my head.

It wasn't like I had a choice now. If I deny him here, I am sure he will try to make my school life hell, which is the last thing I want. All I want is to complete this last year in peace so that I can move far away from my mother.

"That's decided then, Avy sweetheart. I would've loved to stay here and spend some quality time with you, but your mom and I had booked tickets to go to this island," He said with a sad look, and I looked at my mom, who was looking at me with no expression.

Yes, still the same indifference.

"That's okay, Alpha Cole. My mom has suffered all her life, bearing with my responsibilities alone. I am sure she can enjoy her new life now," I said, genuinely meaning every word.

"Wait. What did you call me? Alpha Cole? I am not Alpha Cole for you, sweetheart. You can call me Dad just like Evans do," He said, and I nodded my head.

"Father," I said, and he sighed before nodding his head.

I didn't mean to offend him or turn him down, but that's the most I can do to accept this relationship.

"I think I should have some rest now," I said.

"Let me show you the way, " Evans said, and I rolled my eyes internally before starting to walk behind him.

It's all his fault that I am stuck here! I will make sure to become a pain in his ass so that he sends me out himself. I thought before smiling at my new plan.
