"Hello my baby! Good morning!"
I tickled my adorable baby to wake him up. It was already 7am and I was planning to take him to grocery shopping. Our fridge was empty with food, and only bottled waters and a frozen mango float were available.
He slowly opened his eyes and stared at me. Then in a second, he was smiling so wide that made me tickle him more. He was laughing and babbling as if he wanted to say something to me.
He got his blue eyes from his father. Anyone could tell that he was his father's son.
It was just very unfortunate that he would never see his father ever.
I looked at his eyes and even he could not speak yet I knew he recognized me and wanted to call me 'mommy'.
We got up from bed and we went to the bathroom so we could shower together.
He seemed to be very excited everytime he showered, because he liked playing the water in the tub. He liked to swim inside the tub. He seldom cried even if I had to cut his wonderful bath shortly.
I bought him a floating duck so he could play it on the water, but instead he kept on biting the head of the duck. He was very much attracted to its yellow color.
"C'mon baby. Time to get out!" I picked him up out from the tub.
I looked at him and he couldn't keep his eyes open, indicating that he was sleepy again. I wrapped him in his white baby towel, and it seemed like he loved the comfort of its warmth.
Now, I finally had my time to shower.
I stripped down naked and went to the bathroom. I looked at the mirror and traced my stretch marks with my fingers.
I did my bathroom routine quickly. I had to hurry because in a couple of minutes, my baby would wake up again.
Before I could wrapped myself with the robe, I heard a muffling sound from the bedroom. I went out and saw him trying to get away from the baby towel I had wrapped him and looked at me showing his tongue.
"Are you hungry now? Come to mommy!" I extended my arms to him and he seemed to very excited to be picked.
"Honey, you will accompany mommy to the grocery store Ok!"
As soon as he heard it, he babbled some words and clapped his little hands together.
After I fed him with my breastmilk and dressed him up, I put him back in the crib so he could play for a while and then I dressed myself quickly.
I was wearing my favorite bluish gray skinny jeans and topped it with a black fitted low neckline blouse.
I had my shoulder bag ready with all the things I woud need- wallet, coin purse, diapers, extra baby clothes, baby socks and towels, formulas, baby wipes, napkin, umbrella, my cellphone, etc.
I would say the bag contained 98% of baby things and the rest was mine.
I put on my flat shoes and picked the baby backpack sling. My baby was settling in my front and he was cutely giggling while I was strapping the slings tight.
"You ready?" I smiled to him and he raised his hands and flapped his legs showing that he was excited to go out now. We went outside the apartment and I hailed a taxi.
It was definitely a sunny day and the clouds didn't give any indication of possible change of weather. But with the climate change, nobody could predict anymore the sudden change of weather, so I always brought an umbrella everytime we went outside the house.
There was a light traffic since it was Saturday. I looked at my baby and he seemed to have fun watching the passing cars and other vehicles on the road. He mumbled baby words again and kept on flapping both his feet and hands.
"You love cars, don't you?" He was very much like him. His father loved to collect, remodel, and drive cars, mostly classics. He always took me with him everytime there were cars shows and when he wanted to drive and took me out of town.
Remembering those memories saddened me so much. It had been over a year now but I still couldn't let go of the memories with him. Especially everytime I looked at my son, I was always seeing him, his eyes, nose, mannerisms, everything about him has been inherited by my son.
I was able to conquer depression, so I had to survive for my baby.
When we reached the grocery store, I pulled a cart and my baby was jumping of excitement. I smiled at him and he beamed while trying to reach my face. I leaned down so he could my face and he kissed me above my lip.
"I love you baby!" And he mumbled an answer.
We gathered everything we needed and put them in the cart. He also played with the other customers who were very fond of him.
"He's very handsome." One customer said while we were at the milk station.
"Thank you!" I smiled at her while putting the boxes on the cart.
Once we reached the counter, I unloaded the groceries and the cashier looked at my son and she said 'hello' to him. My son smiled at her and she jiggled his hands. My baby was very friendly. He was never shy to other people.
While the cashier punched the groceries, I turned my head to the television at the north corner and saw him.
I was shocked to see his face on the TV. It had been over a year since the last time I saw him.
He looked so hot and handsome in his three piece D&G suit. He was being interviewed live and the female host looked so starstrucked on him.
I breathed in and out deeply. I forgot to notice my son flapping his feet and hands to step into the edge of the counter table.
I looked at him and to my surprised, his eyes were also glued to the TV screen.
He recognized his father. He was pointing his fingers to the screen.
The female host started asking questions.
"You have been selected to judge for this year's Miss Universe. But aside from that purpose, what are the other things that you plan to do while staying in the country?"
"My woman is here." He answered without any hesitations. The crowd gasped while he maintained his serious dark smile.
I was stunned to hear his answer. So, he was here for her.
The female host asked again, "Does she know you are here for her?"
"No." He answered.
"So you'll gonna surprise her then? Are we going to hear a wedding bell soon?"
Before he could answer, the cashier already gave me the amount I would be paying for the groceries. A guy helped me deposit the grocery bags to the baggage counter.
The other saleslady muttered something to her co-worker. "So he is already married? Oh!"
When I looked at the television again, the female host already stood up and shook hands with him. She seemed flattered when he put a hand around her shoulder for picture taking.
He was still undeniably the most gorgeous man in the world. His figure could not deny the bulging muscles inside his suit; his muscles where I used to put my head on while he cuddled me.
I held my baby closer and I kissed his nose and lips and he giggled. I beamed wide at his response.
My son had been my saviour. It was difficult for me to fight my depression. I almost got killed and I attempted to end my life, but when I learned that I was having a baby, it made me want to live again.
It was the seventh month of our marriage. I prepared a hot tub full of roses and put candlelights around the bathroom. I couldn't wait for him to get home.
He always told me that I was his best stress reliever. Most women probably would cook for their husbands. But he was pretty much aware that I had no talent in cooking, except frying hotdogs and eggs. He always did the cooking for us. The kitchen was his second favorite place in the house while the bedroom was his most favorite.
I took my baby to the second floor of the mall, where the toy store was located. We went inside the store and there were already lots of children playing around and selecting toys.
My son would soon be asking for his daddy to take him here and to buy him toys, just like the other dads here.
It had been painful for me to think on how my marriage went. We got divorced. I signed the papers without knowing why I was signing it. He wouldn't listen. I tried begging him to let me explain but he didn't. He pushed me out. I was in sorrow while walking out of his penthouse.
My tears won't stop falling and I was hardly breathing. I had been sick for a week at that time so when my body couldn't take it anymore, I collapsed on the side of the road.
I didn't know I was already pregnant at that time. That explained why I had been throwing up every early morning, but my ex-husband never notice it.
A female doctor who happened to pass by at the road said she saw me lying on the side of the curb. She went out of the car to check on me. She saw lots of blood on my head probably because I hit my head on the curb when I fall.
She took me to her house and cured me. She had no one living with her. Her husband passed away two years ago and her two children were living in different countries.
She examined me and found out I was carrying a child. I told her why I got there at the road, about the divorce, but I didn't tell her who my husband was.
She was very kind and she let me stay there for a week until I fully recovered.
When I was capable to travel already, I booked a ticket to my hometown and left London for good.
I was interrupted when my son was wailing grabbing my face. He wanted to go touch the toys. It must have grabbed his attention especially the assorted colors and dancing lights inside the store.
After we bought new toys for him, we got out and headed to the nearest restaurant. I still had him buckled up on my chest while eating. I fed him the soup so he would stop reaching the plate on the table.
"What's going on here?"
The angry voice came from the frowning man in perfect suit standing at the entrance door.
I looked at my husband while holding my tears from bursting. He strode towards me swiftly and he pulled me up so I could sit on his lap.
The two police officers and four firemen were all looking at us when the manager of the building started talking.
"Mr. Miller, we responded as quickly as possible because we heard the siren of the alarm coming from this house. We checked everything and there is no major damage, there were just so much smoke and the detector alerted immediately."
He looked at me with worried face. I thought he would get mad if he found out what happen instead he kissed my forehead and murmured soothing words to calm me.
"Well, if everything is fine you can now leave." he commanded in his raspy voice and pulled me closer to him.
After the men went out of the door, he touched my face so I could face him. "Are you okay baby?"
I just nodded my head keeping myself from bursting to tears. I was so terrified and scared of what would be his reaction.
"Tell me what happen." he pleaded.
"I was cooking for dinner and I didn't notice the smoke was all over the kitchen already. It was too late when I heard the alarm panicked."
He smiled at me with those sexy eyes.
"You tried cooking for dinner?" I nodded. "For us?" I nodded again.
"I guess Mr. Kitchen and my sexy wife are not friends." He added while I smiled with embarrassment. I hid my face in the crook of his neck.
He scooped me up by his arms, and we headed our way to the kitchen. He let me sit on the chair and kissed my lips before searching the apron.
He unbuttoned his suit and he was top naked. I licked my lips upon seeing his bulging muscles. He wore the pink apron and I swore he was made to be the hottest and sexiest husband of all.
He cooked dinner while I was just sitting there. He glanced at me and I feel so flattered of seeing my husband cooking for me.
"After dinner, I expect my dessert." He said while looking at me with his pupils dilated.
He then came to me and whispered on my ear. "I will definitely ravish you later, my sweetest dessert." And he licked the sides of my ears making me giggled.
I suddenly woke up when I felt a soft touch on my cheeks. I opened my eyes and saw my beautiful baby sleeping peacefully with his hand touching my cheeks.
He was facing me and I kissed his cute face and he was murmuring something in his sleep. He was probably dreaming or playing with his guardian angels.
I always loved to sleep with my baby beside me on the bed. I didn't like putting him on the crib or placing him in another room.
I even bought the super soft bedsheets so he would sleep comfortably. My bed could be occupied by four people.
I intended to have a large bed so my baby had enough space when he would turn and flip in his sleep.
I remembered my last night's dream. It seemed so real again. I had memories that had been invading my dreams like most of the nights.
I got off from bed carefully not waking up my sleeping baby and I put pillows around him. I looked at the clock and it was still 5:30am Sunday.
I had no plans on hitting the pillows again so I went to the kitchen to make coffee for myself.
I turned on the television and after several commercial breaks, there came a buzz break about Miss Universe. It was a report about the preparations for the pageant that would be aired live on television today at 12pm. Then, there were some videos of him, picture taking with the candidates.
He looked so devastatingly handsome as ever in his expensive suit. There were even females who were publicly flirting with him. "Men are always men." I thought to myself.
I heard a loud cry from the bedroom. I almost jumped in hurry and there I saw my baby on his chest crying and looking so adorably helpless.
"Ohhhhh. Not a morning baby!" I scooped him up and he was calm now while I cuddles him to my chest. I kissed his nose and he giggled.
"Good morning! Are you hungry now?" He must have understood what I was saying because he touched my breasts indicating that he wanted his milk now.
I fed him right away and he looked so radiantly full now. I put him on the crib in the living room so I could do my chores.
I switched the channel to Cartoon Network and he seemed to be very excited to watch. He murmured baby words and even shouted and giggled. I was laughing looking at my adorable baby.
Time flew so fast that I didn't notice it was almost lunch time. I cooked the easiest food I could think of. I made a fruit salad shake for my baby.
My baby looked so bored now. When he caught my eye, he immediately called me by raising his hands as if he wanted to be picked up.
I excitedly picked him and he giggled while I kissed his tummy. We ate together while he was sitting on my lap, and again he always tried to reach the plate on the table and frowned when he failed.
After putting the dishes on the sink, we headed back to the living room so we could cuddle while putting him to his afternoon nap.
I switched the channels to look for a more interesting show when I unknowingly selected the channel that aired the pageant.
I was watching the show. At the back of my mind I so wanted to change the channel, but I couldn't.
The candidates were all beautiful and glamorous in their gowns. Surely men, married or not married, had already been fantasizing about the ladies on the stage, most likely including him.
The final round came and the bowl rolled for candidates to select the judge that would give them the questions. There were five ladies left now, and all of them were strikingly beautiful.
Miss Venezuela had her turn and the judge she picked was no other than David Miller. The crowd went wild and Miss Venezuela was obviously blushing upon hearing the cheers. I was wondering if she was blushing because of the cheers or because she has selected David Miller.
"Good morning!" His dark and seductive voice boomed around the arena making the candidates shivered in excitement.
"If you are divorced or annulled by wrong reasons, and he wants you back, will you accept him again or not?"
I was literally shocked hearing his question. What was he trying to imply?
Miss Venezuela took the mic to answer. "I will probably accept him back. But he has to know that things can never and will never be the same again."
