RIEKA POV

The quietness of the dark night, accentuates the emptiness in my soul,

No trace of light ever finds me,

Happiness feels like a cruelty, always beyond my reach.

I face struggle after struggles in my abject life, being married to the Alpha's second son RALPH.

Normally being the mate and wife of the potential Alpha and future Luna should be nerve wrenching and exciting, but unfortunately it's not.

Reason being that my husband hates me. I know I shouldn't being saying things like that but I just can't help it.

The way he treats me is absolutely disheartening, he hits me at every slightest provocation, rain insults at me and sometimes even go as far as locking me in our closet for hours.

He wasn't always like this though, he used to be sweet and caring, but all of that came crashing down when he found out that I was buried in debt after our wedding, not that Iied about my financial situation, he just assumed I inherited a fortune from my human mom.

I have tried countless times to explain things to him, but he will have no part of it.

Things especially have been worse recently, since it was discovered that I can no longer bear him a child.

I had 2 terrible miscarriages this pass 6 months and the second one lead in a blocked fallopian tube.

At this point, it's pretty obvious that my marriage is on it's deathbed and I should probably walk out of it and denounce him as my mate, but I can't, because I lack the courage to, plus I am still in love with my husband, call me names but I just can't help it, he is the only man who has ever approached me for anything, talkless of marriage.

If he was to leave me, I would end up alone again, as just the chubby unattractive human daughter of a beta.

Well, enough with the sob story. It is getting late and I need to get some rest.

I have just returned from my 2 day business trip on the outskirts of the park.

I was scheduled to return tomorrow morning, but I decided to surprise my husband, I don't know if he will appreciate it, but here I am.

I slowly sneaked into our room and turned on the light switch, ready to surprise my dutiful husband, only to witness the unimaginable.

She has always blamed me for all the suffering she endured all these years, claiming that if father hadn't gotten married to my human mom, he would have gotten married to her Omega mother ULF.

" What is going on here?" I ask as tears stream down my face, consequently pulling their attention toward me.

" I can explain" He says as he gets off her and uses the blanket to cover his nakedness, while LIFA takes the opportunity to get dressed

" So you're not having sex with my sister?" I asked confused,

' what lies is he planning to cook up now'

" I was....The thing is. I need a child RIEKA" He mumbles before speaking

" I don't believe this, you are using that as an excuse?" I voice angrily

" It's not an excuse little sis, you can't give the man a kid, so let me help you with this gruesome task" LIFA boast with an annoying smirk

" Get out" I commanded angrily

" Don't speak to your elders like that dear sis" She says mockingly

" LIFA leave us" He commands and she reluctantly obliges.

" Rieka, I know there is no justification for what happened here today, but I just want you to know, this is all your fault" He voices nonchalantly

' Well this wasn't the apology I was expecting'

" My fault, how is this my fault?" I question nonplussed.

" If you were woman enough, none of this would have been happening" He says shamelessly

" Are you blaming me for my inability to become a mother. If you are forgetting I didn't choose this. You made me lose my first pregnancy, which partially damaged my womb, with your unprovoked beatings" I state,

' how dare him pin the blame on me after what he did.

" How dare you bring that up now. Need I remind you, you were the one who provoked me with your disrespect" He says

" Why am I not surprised, You are never sorry for what you do, as always. You know what I am leaving" I say grabbing my luggage to exit the mansion.

I am sick of all this maltreatment.

I think I deserve happiness and I will get it even if it kills me.

" Where are you going to? you have no home to return to. No one loves you, except me. If you leave this house, you will end up alone and die of misery" He threatens

" I will take my chances" I voice before walking out.

By the time I am about to board my car and exit the mansion, LUNA ULVA, (RALPH's adopted mother) swopes in to save the day.

" You are giving up on your marriage RIEKA, I thought you loved my son?" She voices disappointed

Which surprises me, because Luna Ulva has never liked me from the start, and was strongly against our marriage, because she claims that a disgusting human like myself is unfit to be her replacement, plus she hates how chubby and unattractive I am, and my facial scar wasn't helping matters (I have a facial scar, it a scar that extends from my left ear to my right chin, it was one I got from the vampire attract on my family, 11years ago).

I don't say a word, instead I climb on board and try to drive out but she stands in my way

" What do you want mother, I am leaving. Isn't this what you always wanted?" I yell angrily as I alight the car.

" I want you to stay RIEKA. Fight for your marriage" She voices

" I can't mom, your son doesn't value me. He treats me like trash, and he is even cheated on me with my sister" I say between sobs

" I have known for a while, and I can't blame him. You are barren RIEKA, and this pack needs an heir, no matter how much we try to avoid it" She states

" RIEKA you belong here. I know I never liked you before and I might never like you, but you are good for my son and probably this pack" She voiced before walking out.

This was the first time I and Luna Ulva have ever had a heart to heart conversation, and I must say this was what I needed to move forward.

My mind is made up, I am not letting LIFA keep my husband.

I offload my suitcase from the car and hurried back into my bedroom, only to find RALPH lieing in bed shirtless.

" You are back, I thought you were taking your chance" He mocks

" I am not in the mood for this RALPH, plus I am still mad at you" I inform as I wheel my suitcase into the closet

" I am glad you finally came to your senses and realized that, there is no you without me" He boast arrogantly

" Anyway change up, and come here. I will like a taste of my wife" he says shamelessly.

' Is he bipolar. I just caught him moments ago with my sister and he expects me to engage in sexual activities with him, what a joke'

" I am tired RALPH, maybe some other day. I need to sleep now. You can have the bed, I will sleep on the couch" I inform as I try to pulled a pillow but he helds my right hand

" Since, when do you say no to me. You're not allowed to say no, only yes, because I am your master RIEKA, your survivor, your god, I own you RIEKA" He informs

" RALPH, I don't want any problems please" I beseech him, because I know how this always plays out, next thing he will do is to force himself on me and I don't want that, not when he smells like my sister.

" Don't worry princess, I won't force you tonight. I lack the strength to, but just so you know tomorrow night I won't take no for an answer" He informed

" Good night wifey, and don't make me wait for my breakfast tomorrow morning" He said as he gives me a kiss on the right cheek and released his grip on me.

One thing I realized this breezy night, is that a cold night feels like hell, when you don't have a sexy woman by your side to quench your sexual desire.

Trying to concentrate on work, when you are aroused is completely impossible.

' I wonder what is taking Lisa so long in the bathroom, my throbbing dick is going to tear through my pants any minute now'- I curse inwardly

My mom happens to be the only daughter of a vampire elder, who was banished from her tribe, when it was found out that she got pregnant out of wedlock for the Alpha of a werewolf pack, by name FARKAS.

Mom then moved on to become one of the best, if not the best psychologist in the country.

Mom is a smart, charming, chubby woman, but for some reason she's still very much single.

" The last time, I checked I lived here alone" I grumble " It seems I shouldn't have given you my spare keys"

" I see you haven't changed one bit. Still as annoying as ever" Mom says nonchalantly " I will like a word with you, alone"

" Can't it wait. I was in the middle of something when...... " I start speaking but she cuts in

" Meet me in the living room, now" She commands before walking out.

" Mom, why are you here?" I ask nonplussed

I knew it, mom is obsessed with me getting a wife, but this is just pitiful even for her.

" Are you being serious right now. You mean to tell me, you left your house at 10pm to advice me to get married?" I ask nonplussed

" Yes, this is a very serious matter" she says

" Good night mom" I voice nonchalantly as I was try to walk out but she stands in my way

" Wait are you seriously going to walk out on your mother?" She questions

" Yes, if you don't change the subject" I confess

" Fine"

" Your dad called, he said you have been avoiding his calls, and I am wondering why?" She says

" Because I don't want anything to do with him" I confess

" But why? don't you want to be Alpha?" She inquires

" Yes, I have told you a thousand times" I remind

" This is because of Ralph isn't it?" She ask

" What does Ralph have to do with this?" I ask confused

" He is the reason why you don't want to be ALPHA, can't you see son he is only using you. He doesn't care about you one bit" She says

" That's not true" I contradict

" But it's, tell me how many times have you lent money to that ingrate and how many times has he paid back?, or how many times have you gotten into trouble with the police because of that brother of yours?" She asks annoyed

Yes, it is true that Ralph never pays back his debts, but it's fine because I don't mind, it not like he owes me that much, it's just a few millions, and about the police thing, it was just twice.

" Mom, I will not let you talk trash about my brother, so if that is why you came here, kindly leave" I command bitterly, before walking out.

FARKAS POV

My life has been a total failure, and I have no one to blame but myself.

One would think that being ALPHA with 2 handsome sons, I should be contented, but I am not, and why?

because my sons are disappointments just like me.

My first son GABRIEL is currently 29 years of age, and very single, I mean he has everything that could attract a woman, good looks, and wealth but he prefers to be a chronic womanizer.

Gabriel was borned to me by my first love and mate, a vampire by name KATHERINA.

KATHERINA and I were lovers 30 years ago, and she was the one who was supposed to be my Luna, but my mum didn't want any part of it, she insisted that a vampire could never succeed her as Luna, not because it was forbidden but because mom was a racism, just like my wife, who considered vampires to be below even the level of an omega.

Back then pa had just died and I was to take over from him as the new ALPHA, so I was under serious pressure from the masses.

Eventually, I was too much of a weakling to fight for our love, so I had to let her go, more like I denied her infront of our entire pack, that was the last time I saw her ontill a year ago, and that happens to be the biggest mistake I regret till date.

I later on married ULVA, the daughter the alpha of our neighboring pack back then, and my current Luna, as fate would have it, she happens to be a conniving snake, full of herself, coupled with the fact that she is unable to bear me a child, not that it has ever mattered.

" Thinking of our son?" I heard Ulf question from behind, apparently she had just entered a few seconds ago, when I was drowning in thought.

UlF is my most loyal omega, who has been serving me diligently for the past 50years, she equally happens to be my bestfriend, and the son she is referring to is, no other than RALPH.

The thing is, 25 years ago something happened between me and ULF and it ended up giving rise to RALPH.

" It's not like anyone would understand" She teases, and she was right, because

I convinced my wife ULVA to adopt UlF'S son RALPH, and she obliged, not knowing that she was in fact playing right into my hands, and that he was actually my son.

Thankfully they have been getting along nicely. I just pray that the day, ULVA finally, finds out RALPH'S true parentage, she will still love him the same.

" Even at that, you should still watch what you say" I warn

" Fine, so what bothers my ALPHA?" She ask concerned

" Your son. I fear he is in a secret relationship with his wife's half sister LIFA" I inform

" Oh, you found out. I have tried time without number to discourage him on his pointless pursue to be with two sisters, but all my pleads fell on deaf ears" She informs

" What is wrong with that son of yours, is he crazy going after two siblings. I mean what does he want in a woman, that his mate RIEKA can't offer. She's beautiful, intelligent, kind hearted and totally down to earth. Any man will kill for a woman like that, but instead he derives pleasure in fooling about with her half sister, whose shameful explores are in the open and her character is nothing to write home about " I yell angry

" He is our son not just might, but you are right. I met both ladies one on one and I must confess RIEKA is the best Luna ,this pack could ever hope for, with her in charge things will be alot easier for us the omegas, because she has a heart of gold, on the other hand LIFA is strong willed, crafty and fore sided, she would make a good ally, but not for long, seeing that she could betray her own blood, plus she is full of herself"

" In 3 words I will say LIFA is a MONEY SUCKING LEECH, and a calamity waiting to happen" She says

RIEKA POV

I flicker my eyes open to a pair of lovely brown eyes, belonging to RALPH. He was seated next to me on the floor, while carefully caressing my facial scar as he stares down at me with admiration.

" What are you doing?" I ask in a panic while I sitting up in a heist.

I eye him suspiciously waiting for a tangible explanation for his actions last night but instead he goes down on his knees and say his favorite 3 words

" I am sorry"

" What are you sorry for? " I ask " Being rude or sleeping with my sister"

" Both" He voices with a face full of regret

" Ralph you are a hypocrite, you hurt me on a daily basis, because you claim that I might be cheating on you, when in reality you are the cheat" I yell angrily, which comes as a shock to me, because I was never one to raise my voice at anyone, let alone my tyrant of a husband.

" Rieka I know I messed up ok, but that doesn't give you the right to speak to me in that tone, I am still your husband" He says in a rather calm voice

" Listen babe" He starts while taking my hands in his " You are the one I love ,the one who completes me, my mate, my heart. LIFA means nothing to me. She was just a one nightstand. she seduced me and well I fell for her, because you weren't around" He beseech me, with a sincere demeanor.

In all honesty that sounds like what Lifa will do, considering her hate for me, but even at that he should have resisted her.

" That's not a good enough excuse. You hurt me" I voice in tears, the emotions with in me can no longer be contained.

" I am sorry babe" He apologizes as he pulls me into his warm embrace, and I pour my heart out on his shoulder " I will send her packing, if that is what you want"

" You will do that for me?" I ask confuse, I have begged him countless times to send her packing, because of her unprovoked bullying, but he has always been adamant, so this comes as a shock.

" Yes, because I love you so much RIEKA" He says as he kisses my knuckles " I love every part of you" He adds, as he kisses my cheek continuely, tracing my scar from top to bottom.

To me this was the best gesture of all, others always call me hideous because of my scar but he kissed that same scar, he must really love me as much as I do him.

" I love you too" I voice, before he pulls me into a long passionate kiss.

" Thank you" He gratifies, as he pulls away from the kiss, into a hug.

After our little reconciliation, I then head to the kitchen to prepare his breakfast. For the past 5 months, this has been my normal. Preparing meals for Ralph back to back, since he doesn't eat stale food.

Heading to the kitchen, it is still pretty early so it is pretty deserted. I immediately change into my apron and start cooking.

I am working on making some toast bread and jam, scrambled eggs, fried plantains, some fries, fried chicken, freshly squeezed orange juice and a cup of coffee.

I know what you are thinking, why bother to cook all these, when you could just prepare one meal, but unfortunately I can't because RALPH is a very complex person, who believes himself better than his father, hence he eats food fit for a god.

By the time I am done with the meals, it's almost 7:30am, so I hurrily rush out of the kitchen with the food tray to avoid problems.

Getting to the room, I meet Boris( Ralph's best friend and a Gamma who lives in the mansion with us) in the hallway.

" Good morning mistress" He greets with a smile

" Good morning Boris, and for the last time please stop calling me Mistress, just use my name instead" I repeat for the umpteenth time

" Sorry about that Rieka" he says with an awkward smile, as he scratches the back of his head shyly " Can I please help you with the tray?" He questions, noticing my baggage.

" No need for that, I can manage" I turn him down

" I insist, plus I was heading to your room anyway, so please let me" He beseech me and I give in.

' after all what's the worst that could happen'

The hallway was kind of long, since we have a flight of stairs to climb and it is a 15 bedroom mansion, so Boris takes the initiative to crack some jokes and I must confess they are pretty good

" You should be a comedian you know, you're only wasting your time as a Gamma " I joke and he burst out laughing

" No, I doubt I have a future in comedian, besides I am only funny when I am with you" He teases

" I will take your word for it then" I say with a smile " can I get the tray now?" I ask when we arrive at the door post.

" Sure" He says before handing it to me, that is when I notice his stare. He was looking down at me with fascination.

" Is something on my face?" I ask nervously

" No, you are very beautiful Rieka" He says.

Which I know is obviously a lie, no one calls me beautiful, not even my own husband, by the time I had summon courage to ask him what he means, an angry Ralph opens the door.

" Good morning Alpha" Boris greets abasely

" Rieka get into the room" Ralph commands ignoring his greetings, and I oblige without saying a word, while walking in I hear Ralph scolding him, but the sound completely disappears when I shut the door, since our room is sound proof.

I serve his food and patiently wait for him to enter, and there he is a minutes later fuming mad.

" What were you two talking about?" He questions angrily

" Nothing, he was just telling me a joke" I confess honestly

" Why will he be cranking jokes with you, are you his girlfriend or something?" He ask angry, which didn't make any sense. Why does he always put meaning into every little thing.

" No, not at all...." I start explaining myself but he cuts in

" Never mind" He says before taking a seat on the couch as I stand before him, the rules were simple, I stand and watch him eat each meal, or else problems.

He starts with the coffee, raising it to his lips and taking a sip.

" What is the meaning of this nonsense?" He ask with disgust written all over his face

" Did you taste this?" He ask

" No I didn't" I confess

In all honesty I didn't taste it, so I have no idea if it is good or not. I am horribly allergic to coffee beans, just a touch of it gives me uncontrollable inching.

" Taste it" He commands nonchalantly, what is he requesting of me, he knows how terribly allergic I am to coffee, why would he request such of me.

" You know I can't....." I start speaking before he cuts me off with the cup of hot coffee.

He throws the whole thing on me.

It is so hot that it burns my skin and the inching is pretty much overwhelming, that it make me fall to the floor, screaming my lungs out, in pain.

" Next time, focus on your job as a good wife, instead of flirting with my Gamma" He voices angrily before walking out.

I knew it, this was his sick way of handling his jealousy, for someone who doesn't treasure me, he has a high obsessive attitude.

RALPH POV

I wake up this morning to see my princess fast asleep on the couch, so I decide to take a closer look, she looks so adorable with her chest rising and falling.

In all honesty RIEKA is not my type at all. I like my women slim, with a slender body and an extremely gorgeous face, Rieka is none of those, but for some reason I find myself falling for her day by day.

She has the most beautiful sparkling eyes, lovely long black hair, small pointed nose, nice brows, heart shaped lips and if you take a closer look at her, beyond her scar you will notice that her beauty is second to none, and her smile is like heaven, coupled with her beautiful dimples, I only wish she could be a little thinner, she practically weighs 90kg at height 5.4ft.

She wakes up and we make amends, I knew she would forgive me, because of her beautiful heart.

She goes to make breakfast, which is taking forever, so I decide to take a look, only to see her casually smiling with the last man I want her with Boris my Gamma.

It's no secret to me that Boris has feelings for my wife and he doesn't try to hide it. I have caught him multiple times lusting over her, although I have never confronted him ontill now.

" Don't ever look at my wife like that again" I command angrily as Rieka enters the room

" Relax man, this is how I always look at people" He teases

" I am not kidding Boris. I wouldn't share my wife with you or anyone else. She's mine, and mine alone" I yell

" No one is disputing that fact" He says " What's wrong with you man, are you bipolar? a few months ago you said you could never love someone like her and now you are shameless claiming her as your"

" Watch yourself Boris. I might be your friend but I am first your Alpha prince and as such you will speak to me with some respect" I inform " The next time you look at my wife with so much desire, will be the last time you use those eyes of yours " I threatened before re-entering the room, to see her patiently waiting.

I am thinking of starting an argument, but then restrain myself.

When I take my coffee for a sip it, I take a look at her, and she was biting her lower lip seductively, it is something she normally does unknowingly when she is shy, nervous or uncomfortable, but it does put me in the mood.

Then the thought comes to mind, she must have done this infront of him as well.

' How dare she try to share what is mine with another'- I think, which makes my blood boil

My feelings for Rieka has grown so much this pass months, so much so that it has reached the point of obsession, I don't want to see any man close to her, not even my father.

The only reason why I let her go on a two day trip was because it was an all women meeting.

I pretend to hate the coffee, just to stress her out, but the more she tries to explain herself, the more I imagine Boris lustig over her.

I get angry and throw the coffee all over her. Why? I just wanted to punish her for daring to talk to another man under my roof.

I then walked out, but not before telling her, her offense.

I hate wanting her this much, especially since she's not my mate, Lifa is.

About a year ago Lifa came up with an idea that will proof beneficial to the both of us.

Seduce, make Rieka fall in love with me, marry her and then get rid of her, consequently inheriting all her wealth, at first I was against it but Lifa gave me no other choice so I had to do it, fortunately for me Rieka is human, so convincing her that I was her mate was a breeze.

The only down side is that Rieka is not actually wealthy, she's buried in debt and I have fallen for her. This might be the thing that ruins me.

I knock on mom Ulva's door, only for it to be opened by a half naked man, with a white towel around his waist, he has pale skin, blue eyes and looked almost the same age as me.

The room recks of sex. She is lieing in bed underneath her duvet, with their clothes scattered all over the floor.

She orders the man to leave and he obliges without a second thought, quickly putting on his clothes and running out.

It is no surprise to me that mom is cheating on dad, I have known since I was ten, and I must say she has a good way of hiding it.

" I see that's your new flavor of the week" I ask as I take a seat on the sofa." He is cute"

" I know right, plus he's pretty good in bed" She confesses shamelessly

" It's funny how you find humans revolting, but you enjoy having sex with them" I say nonchalantly

Which was true, this might sound dumb but I love having sex with Rieka more than Lifa.

" Don't talk about my wife like that mom" I say " Anyway thank you for last night, I knew that you talking to her was what she needed to return to me" I gratify

Last night I had beg mom to make Rieka stay, and luckily she did.

" You know I will do anything for you. I must confess your wife is pretty easy to take advantage of" she says

" I know, and that is one of the things I love most about her" I inform

" You know one thing about women who act naive, they might be cheating on you and you won't even know" She informs
