THE ONE TRUE ALPHA

The witches of the Celestial underground city concluded their incantations for a spell they had been working on, a spell to notify them of when the prophesied Alpha and his mate would be born. This was the best they could do, they had no way to know from which family precisely they would come from.

"Have you been able to decipher and get the complete prophecy?" Alpha Nigel asked the head witch.

"Not yet Alpha, just the little you know of, we're still trying to get in touch with other witches from other underground cities" the head witch replied.

"Just to be clear, we only know he will come from a human family, right?" Alpha Nigel asked.

"That's correct"

"Okay, notify your sister witches from other clans, I shall have a meeting with their Alphas to think of a way to identify the humans" he stated and stood up to leave.

He soon set out to meet the Alphas at a chosen location. Each Alpha arrived with an elder witch from their cities.

Werewolves and witches have had an alliance for generations now, they discovered they were safer if they not only stayed together but also, they coexisted better together. Knowing how werewolves had mates bestowed to them, witches were sure not to meddle with their bonds.

The moon goddess has made them brothers and sisters of each other where a bond can only be created with a witch present as a witness to recite the bond spell. The moon goddess and her sister, the goddess of the witches saw that from the beginning of witches and werewolves existing, they would need each other to survive. So instead of having a were meet his mate and mark each other, then mate to complete their bond, they would instead need witches to activate the bond.

"Alpha Andrew" Alpha Nigel called and they shook hands.

"Thank you all for agreeing to this meeting on such short notice, we have matters arising that are of utmost importance" Alpha Nigel announced.

"What is this about? Is it rogues?" one asked.

"We haven't had any of those in centuries since we built underground cities and left our pack houses" one said.

"Calm down everyone" Alpha Nigel called and gestured for an elder witch from his city to speak.

"Dear Alphas and Sister witches, we have an urgent matter that has come to our attention and we must all work together to know of its truth. My sister got a vision from the witch goddess and moon goddess, she's a seer, they informed her of a message for us. A prophecy." Aeldra said "They directed her to an old scroll where a legend had been foretold. We followed the directions as much as we could and found only a few pieces of the scroll and a few spells. The legend speaks of an Alpha to be born from human parents and would serve as a vessel of great power. He shall be able to shift from infancy and his mate shall be the carrier of said power. After they complete the mating process, he shall be the strongest Alpha to ever exist, he shall be king, he shall be the one true Alpha."

"An Alpha to be born from humans would be the strongest? This is ridiculous" an arrogant alpha said.

"Take it as no joke Alpha Edwin, your individual elder witches know we speak the truth" she confidently said.

"It's true Alpha Edwin, as she spoke I saw images of the scroll and where they had found it" an elder witch from Edwin's city said.

"She could have made a spell to make you see it in order to deceive us" Edwin said again.

"The one true Alpha is the key to our survival from the Vampires, you all know how much they have terrorised us and have forced us into hiding and be rest assured if they find out about this prophecy, they will find a way to either kill the Alpha or his mate" Aeldra spoke in hopes that they would listen to her.

"Let's see the scroll" one shouted from a distance.

Aeldra looked at her sister Thea and motioned for her to present the scroll. As she did, everyone saw that it had been ripped in half, a part of it missing.

"It is possible that the missing half could have had information on where and how to find the Alpha, but my sisters and I have found an incomplete spell that will need all witches to gather and recite it together, the witch goddess has said that the rest of the words will come to us as we recite it together" Thea announced.

At this time Alpha Nigel stood and said "Now you see why we all need to work together, we also need doctors stationed across human hospitals to monitor any strange births, they are to announce immediately so that we can get the Alpha and his mate to safety. I also think it is best to have a specific spell, one that summons an elder witch to their location and the said witch can mindlink their Alphas about it"

The meeting ended with the agreement that the true alpha to be born must be protected. They travelled back to their various cities using their claws to create an opening through the barrier that protected the city.

Witches of old had to learn the art of concealing themselves and their surroundings and so taught their people from generations to generations. With vampires being immortal, it was the best way to stay protected from their attacks.

The prophecy is a symbol of hope to all werewolves. In less than a week, the news about the foretold prophecy no longer was a legend but a prophecy. Many looked forward to the birth of the Alpha, many also hoped they would birth the Alpha's mate.

Alpha Nigel and his mate who had no children of their own waited for the True Alpha. The prayed to the moon goddess for the child to be raised in their city. They would raise him as their own.

Their prayers came true one day after ten years of waiting. One would think they had lost hope, or that the werewolves began to doubt the prophecy, but no, as the years went by, their hopes increased and they somehow didn't doubt his coming. Every werewolf was ready to fight as his side when the time came.

Aeldra while in a meeting with Alpha Nigel about their city matters heard a voice summoning her, it was the voice of the werewolf doctor from their pack. As she looked at Alpha Nigel, he understood and with a nod Aeldra vanished and appeared to the young doctor.

The human mother was bleeding and the young lad had felt that her child was no human, he knew for a fact it was the True Alpha's presence, he felt the power the baby held.

Aeldra watched by the side as the woman fought for her life. The woman looked at Aeldra and for some reason she knew who Aeldra was.

"You're here for him aren't you" she asked tiredly as pushed.

"You know about the prophecy" Aeldra stated.

"I had a vision, two women appeared to me and told me about him" she said weakly.

She screamed in agony as she pushed her last and the baby popped out of her. There was blood everywhere. Aeldra and the doctor gasped at the sight of the child, it was not a human baby she gave birth to but a pup.

Aeldra gave the child to its mother and he shifted into a human baby. Just then a realization dawned on Aeldra, she heard the moon goddess. The child is able to shift at will without having to wait until he grew to the age of eighteen years.

The child's mother smiled at her child and her eyes grew weak. "Take care of my boy" she told Aeldra.

Aeldra nodded knowing there was nothing she could do to save the woman.

The young mother looked at her baby one more time before weakly handing it over to Aerlda.

Aerlda took the child in her arms and made a simple spell that made a feeding bottle appear in her hand. She cooed the baby in her arms as she fed him.

Soon she sensed the presence of another creature, one that was not a werewolf. The creature was light weighted and she knew for a fact it was a cold blood.

The presence she felt became greater that made her restless, the child in her arms could feel it as well and began to wail. This could only mean one thing.

"Quick" she told the young doctor. "Take the child to the city, go, hurry". She handed the child over and created a portal. Just as the doctor stepped into it, cold blood appeared, about five of them, they snarled and tried to catch the doctor but he had vanished.

Aerlda looked at them and with a smirk disappeared as well.

"Alpha Nigel, where is the child" Aerlda asked as she stepped into the council chamber.

"He's here, sleeping" said Luna Daisy. She had comforted the restless child and she rocked him as he slept.

"The doctor told us you were ambushed by cold bloods"

"They know of the prophecy; they came to kill him" Aerlda stated.

"What about the boy's mother?" he asked.

"Dead, I threw some spells in the building, it should clean up everything" Aerlda said.

As they spoke, they felt someone seeking permission to enter their barrier. Only a witch could do so, Aerlda vanished and appeared at the border.

Witches from other cities had arrived. They had also felt the immense power from the birth of the child.

Aerlda allowed them into the city and closed the barrier back. They went back to Alpha Nigel's Council chamber.

"It is time, we must find the missing pieces of the legend" Aerlda voiced.

For hours they chanted not giving up until they saw a sparkle on the scroll, where parts of it came little by little. Seeing this only made their voices louder and more confident.

"The one who shall mate with the Alpha's Luna shall have power beyond measures"

The witches stared at each other with white eyes, knowing what the legend spoke of.

If the True Alpha meets his mate and does not claim her as his, any other being could mate with her.

Just then Thea fell, her eyes rolling, she was having a vision. Hopefully one that had answers.

By the time she had awoken, the other witches had returned to their cities and the only one left with her was Aerlda.

"Tell me sister, what did you see?" Aerlda asked concerned.

"The boy... The moon goddess will visit him when the time is right, he will know who his mate is as soon as he sees her, and it could be at any age" Thea breathed.

The vampire King searched for the witch and the child. He searched for any witch that could be of use to him. A day turned to weeks, which turned to years.

Nineteen years later and they have found no news. Cold Blood and Weres have hidden in the shadows, each for a different reason that leads to the girl. Cold bloods want to wait, for when she is revealed before they attack, they have found young Weres and have raised them to be spies against their own people. Convinced they would be turned to cold bloods. Weres on the other hand hid to protect the Alpha, and hopefully his mate.

As the days grew by, every soul felt the dread of war approach.

Carson stood with his friends in front of a class as they chatted away, his eyes following a particular brunette.

"You're staring again Alpha" his beta, Ian called.

Carson reluctantly peeled his eyes away from the girl and looked at his beta. Each day getting harder to stay away from her. But it had to be done. She wasn't even of age yet. But she would, he just had to wait a few more days to finally tell her, to be with her.

Carson wondered why it was hard to wait for something you'd spent years waiting for when it is just a few days away from you finally getting it.

"She's right there and I can't even go to her" he whined rubbing his hands on his face and neck.

"I want to say I understand but only I don't, all I know is that you're doing this for her" Ian encouraged his best friend. "And you said it yourself, just a few more days so get a grip Alpha"

"I know, I just wish I could talk to her once you know, but I have to do this for her, for us"

"Alpha, does something seem off to you?" Danny asked sniffing and spinning his head searching for something.

"What is it?" Carson asked feeling the hairs on his body erect. He knew too well what this meant. Someone was watching them and that someone was a cold blood.

"Someone doesn't belong here but is" Danny hissed still searching.

Not finding anything and with the creature gone; since they couldn't feel the chills of death, Carson and his friends left for class. They were the only ones that knew who his mate was and he trusted them with his life to keep the secret and look out for her.

Audrey has caught the Alpha staring at her multiple times. At first she thought he was looking at someone or something behind her, but soon understood that she was what he was looking at.

She has always waited for her mate and had hoped he would be good to her. But she didn't understand why she felt a pull towards the Alpha.

He's not even the Alpha yet

Everyone knew that Alpha Nigel had adopted Carson as a baby. Everyone also knew that he was the prophesied One True Alpha.

Why do I feel something towards him? She questioned her heart as she shut the door to her locker.

Audrey has never understood, and then decided it would be best to stay clear off from him.

She knew how girls swooned over him even though he paid them no mind, she knew his mate to be would be one of great power.

I'm just an ordinary girl she reminded herself, giving her heart a more reason why it needed to stop feeling the way it did about the Alpha because like every girl, she too had a crush on the boy.

She turned her head around when she felt his eyes on her once again. His eyes always held a cold and hard expression. One could mistake his stare for a blank and zoned out werewolf, one that could be seen mind linking someone.

She stared into his eyes as he stared back into hers trying to figure out what he wanted or what he was thinking.

Not being able to keep her eyes on him any further, she peeled her gaze away and walked off to class.

She sat quiet at the dinning table with her parents as he thoughts drifted to a certain boy.

I should be thinking about my mate, not some other boy she warned herself.

"So how would you like to celebrate your birthday sweetheart?" her father asked as they ate dinner dragging her attention back to the dinner and her parents.

"I don't know, maybe just the usual, I'd be home" she shrugged only caring about finding her mate.

"Are you looking forward to meeting your mate at the ceremony?"

"Yes father, I'd love to meet him, assuming he doesn't reject me" she looked down her plate.

"Oh sweetheart, he would love you like the gem that you are" her mother said.

Audrey looked forward to meeting her mate at the event which so happened to fall on her birthday.

She prepared for her next day to school as her birthday isn't until two days.

Two days Carson thought as he lay in the darkness of his room.

He would finally have her in his arms. He had convinced his father to schedule the mating ceremony on her birthday. It should make things easier.

"Have you found her? Your mate?" his father asked when he made the request.

"I've known who she is since I was kid dad" Carson replied looking at his father's shocked face.

"Why didn't you tell me?" disappointed flashed in the Alpha's eyes.

"I'm sorry dad, but I wasn't allowed to. The moon goddess appeared to me a few times like I told you about and one of the things she said was not keep my knowledge of my mate a secret" his father understood and nodded at the cruciality of keeping the future Luna a secret.

"I understand son, I would have done the same thing, I'm guessing you're not allowed to tell me who she is ether right?"

"Sorry old man" Carson teased. "But her birthday is on the 18th, do you think you could schedule the mating ceremony to that date?"

"There's a specific day for that son, but I know the elders will understand. I just fear it would raise suspicions" his father pondered.

"At least that day I would get to mark my mate and be one step closer to completing the mating process" Carson reasoned.

His father nodded as he took a bite of his food "I guess you're right".

On the other side of the city, Thea collapsed again to another vision. Aerlda rushed to her and held her shaking body close to her pale one.

"What did you see?" Aerlda urged her sister as soon as she awoke.

Thea has not had a vision in nineteen years.

"The witch goddess and moon goddess send a message. The Alpha's mate will have four protectors who will be arriving soon" Thea announced still fazed from her visions.

Aerlda summoned the other witches to a session. There bodies didn't need to be physically present but they still saw each other like a hologram.

"We must stay alert sisters; the goddesses have raised protectors to stand with the Future Luna when the time comes. But they shall be on their way to her soon. Keep guard and help them where they will need it. They shall find their way to her but inform your Alphas to grant them permission to head for their journey when they seek it"

Alton woke up from a dream covered in mud. Confused, he looked around to see himself in the woods.

He came from the creak wood city of werewolves a few days awake from Celestial.

As a child he got a vision from the witch goddess and moon goddesses.

"Don't fret child, we won't harm you" they said as they approached him.

"Who are you?" he asked watching the beautiful women as they approached him.

"I'm the witch goddess" the one in fiery blue said.

"And I'm the mood goddess" the one in silver answered.

"Am I in trouble" his young mind wondered.

"No child, far from it. Have you heard of the prophecy?" the witch goddess asked.

"The one about the One True Alpha?" they both nodded.

"My parents told me about it"

"Very good, the Alpha's Luna is going to need protection and we have chosen you to be a part of her warrior pack" the moon goddess said.

"Warriors? That's cool" he smiled.

"It is, isn't it" the witch goddess smiled at the child.

"Alton, you cannot tell anyone of this, not even your family. The future Luna might be in danger before you even get the chance to protect her" they warned before disappearing.

Since then, they had visited him giving him instructions. And with a sense of duty, he had learned that he was born to protect the future Luna and he was going to give him life for hers if he had to.

He rushed back rushed back home in wolf form.

He has had to balance his training with the goddesses and his normal life.

The warriors were all to be given powers according to the city they came from. And with Alton being from Creak-Wood, his power was the ability to control the 'earth'.

He has had to learn how to move rocks, break large rocks to tiny pebbles and merge pebbles together to form a giant rock.

The visits become frequent as he got close to turning eighteen. He also felt a pull at something.

He started to get dreams of other people, three of them.

He looked at the old tree which had only a leaf on it and wondered what he was doing there.

"Hello?" he heard someone call out.

He freaked out and turned to find the voice, he wasn't alone.

He walked a great distance but the tree didn't move, it seemed as if it either moved with him or he didn't move at all.

'Maybe I should go sideways' he thought.

He walked for about ten minutes before stopping at turning around.

The same thing happened so he gave up.

"Hello? Anyone there?" he heard again.

Aryanna of Aquafil woke up from a dream she has been having too.

The same way the moon goddess and witch goddess had appeared to Alton was the same they appeared to Aryanna, Chad and Hazel.

The only difference in the message was their training patterns.

Where Alton had to learn to control his ability to play with rocks and stones, Aryanna had to learn to control the flow of water out of thin air. They taught her how to draw water from the atmosphere no matter how dry it became.

Chad was from Blood moon city and his ability was to breathe out fire like a dragon, only he could also produce it any part of his body.

Hazel from Moon Air has the ability to control air. She could produce a large amount of breeze and could suck out the air out of an atmosphere specific to her liking.

With all these abilities, they were taught to understand that it was a part of their personality.

Each one in the dream stood around the tree as if in a circle but could not see each other or get close to each other.

That night they all slept and their dreams began.

This time they stood before the elder witch of their city and were given instructions to visit their Alpha's office the next day.

This was a week before the ceremony The four Elder witches of their cities explained to the Alphas the task to which the youngsters had to the True Alpha and his mate.

When asked where they would be heading, they replied that they had no idea and would get further instructions.

Alton, Chad, Aryanna and Hazel left their homes leaving their families and set out to meet.

They had been given a location to stop at and wait for each other before continuing together.

Hazel was the first to arrive. She nervously waited till she heard footsteps getting closer to her location.

Her wolf stirred in her as she sniffed the air around her.

Mate!

She heard her wolf say as she came across her mate.

Alton stood mesmerized by the beautiful red head in front of him.

She blushed under his stir as he walked over to her.

"Hi" she waved.

"Hey beautiful, what's your name?"

"Hazel of Moon Air and you are?"

"I'm Alton, from Creak-Wood, you're so beautiful" he said and kissed her.

"Oh great" they heard someone complain.

"Who are you?" Alton asked curious as he held his mate.

"I'm Chad from Blood Moon City and you are?"

"I'm Alton from Creak-Wood and this is my mate Hazel from Moon Air"

"Oh cool, you two just met I guess"

"Yeah we just did". Alton smiled at his mate.

"One more person and then we head out right" Hazel asked.

"Hello?" they heard.

"Over here" Alton called.

Chad froze in his spot sniffing the air. Alton knew that the voice that had sounded belonged to Chad's mate.

Aryanna followed the scent that caught her attention and her eyes landed on Chad.

Mate!

They said at the same time.

Aryanna walked closer and as soon as he was close enough, Chad engulfed her in a hug.

"I'm so glad I found you" he mumbled.

"You accept me?" Aryanna asked.

She has had to watch her sister's mate reject her at the mating ceremony.

"Why would I not accept you babe? I've waited for you for a long time, even though my birthday was a few days ago"

"What? No way mine was too" Alton said

"Mine too"

"Me too"

"okay I don't know if this is weird or cool but seeing as we all met her today and we are all warriors to the Luna, I would say it's cool" Alton said.

"Do you guys have any idea where we're headed?" Chad asked.

"I think we're supposed to wait until we get further instructions" Aryanna commented.

They all sat on a stone they could and continued their conversation.

"So what's your super power?" Alton asked his mate Hazel.

"I control Air" she replied shyly.

"Mine is Earth" he said.

"I'm water" Aryanna noted.

"Mine's Fire" Chad announced.

As they conversed they felt the ground shake and the goddesses appeared this time physically and not in a dream.

"Hello Children" they announced. The warriors stood then bowed they're heads in submission.

"Rise, your journey is about to begin" the witch goddess announced.

"Yes, you are to head to Celestial, there you shall find the Alpha and His mate, his mate would feel the connection you have with her and will trust you. Be friends around her so as not to give away your identity. The Alpha will understand who you are once you tell him" the moon goddess said.

"Celestial is a few hours away from this location, if you travel in wolf form, you'll get there sooner. I have witches who will welcome you upon your arrival" the witch goddess announced and they vanished.

"Well, you heard them, let's go" Alton instructed.

He shifted into their wolves which were bigger than the regular wolf, even an Alpha and ran as fast as they could.

None stop they ran until the reached the barriers of Celestial where they found Thea and Aerlda waiting.

"Welcome young lads" Aerlda announced as they shifted into their human forms.

"HI there, we were...."

"You are the warriors sent by the goddesses, I know, follow me. The Alpha is waiting"

"Give them some clothes to change into" Thea announced to the witches standing by.

As the warriors changed, the glanced over at each other with the 'now what' look.

"This way please" Thea said guiding them.

When they arrived at the office, Thea knocked.

"Come in" they heard.

Taking a breath they followed Thea as she opened the door.

Their eyes spotted the True Alpha and they bowed in submission to him.

They could she the fiery aura round him that held great power.

"Welcome, please have a seat" Alpha Nigel gestured.

"Thank you, I'm Alton, this is my mate Hazel, that's Chad and his mate Aryanna"

"You have had a long journey and I would say rest but we have to move fast" Alpha Nigel said. "This is my son Carson, I'm sure you know who he is, the Luna to which you're to protect will be participating in the ceremony in the next two days, we need to make sure she's safe"

"We understand and if it's OK with you, we'd like to enroll in the same school, there won't be need to show us who she is, we'll know once we see her" Alton replied as the leader of the group.

"Very well, I'll be keeping my distance for now and I trust you to keep her safe till the ceremony, I have a feel the cold bloods are watching closely and they have spies around" Carson said standing up to shake them.

The warriors were directed to their apartments where they could share with their mates. They were handed clothes to change into. They also had a light meal and headed for the school together.
