Chapter 1 Crazy Ji-Hye

In the vibrant streets of a bustling working-class neighborhood in Seoul, there she stood-Ji-hye, a vivacious and spirited young girl, radiating a beacon of light amidst the struggles of everyday life. With her wild and curly hair, contagious laughter, and a fearless spark in her eyes, she effortlessly stood out in the crowd, captivating the attention of all who crossed her path.

Ji-hye was renowned for her larger-than-life personality, her boisterous laughter echoing through the narrow alleyways. Despite her humble upbringing in a modest background, she adamantly refused to let her circumstances define her. She embraced an unwavering belief that life should be embraced to the fullest, regardless of the challenges that may arise.

An intrigued neighbor who is new to the neighborhood known as Miguel approached Ji-hye, unable to resist her magnetic presence. "Pardon me, are you Ji-hye? The one with the fiery spirit and captivating energy?" he inquired, his voice laced with both curiosity and admiration.

Turning her attention towards him, Ji-hye flashed a mischievous smile, her lips dancing with playful charm. "Guilty as charged! That would be me, Ji-hye," she replied, her voice brimming with confidence and a hint of playfulness.

The new neighbor chuckled, clearly captivated by her vibrant energy. "Ah, I can see that you are indeed charged with an infectious spirit," he remarked, his tone filled with appreciation.

"I am Miguel by name" he introduced himself

"As you know, I'm ji-hye the queen of drama, you can also call me the Alpha female" She introduced herself.

Miguel was just smiling all through at Ji-hye's confidence and free spirit.

Ji-hye's eyes twinkled with mischief as she bid him farewell. "Well, Miguel, I must be on my way. My dear mother will be furious if I roam around any longer. She sent me on an errand, and I've been playing around instead," she explained, playfully darting off towards home.

THE KIM'S HOME

Within the modest confines of a Korean household, tension permeated the air as Eun-ji popularly called Mrs Kim, a strong-willed and no-nonsense mother, stood with her arms crossed, an aura of disapproval enveloping her. Her daughter, Ji-hye, had once again arrived home late, pushing Mrs Kim's patience to its limits.

As the front door creaked open, Ji-hye stepped inside, her eyes filled with apprehension as she met her mother's stern gaze. Without delay, Mrs Kim voiced her frustration.

"Ji-hye, do you have any understanding of the time?" Mrs Kim's voice dripped with disappointment. "I entrusted you with a simple errand, yet you took an eternity to return. This lack of responsibility is utterly unacceptable."

Ji-hye's shoulders slumped, her voice trembling as she attempted to explain herself. "I apologize, Mother," she murmured, her words laced with remorse.

"I know you were gallivanting or getting into altercations with the neighborhood troublemakers, weren't you?" Mrs. Kim glared at her daughter, her disappointment evident.

"No, Mother, please trust me," Ji-hye interjected, offering a cheeky wink, attempting to lighten the mood.

"You little rascal, I will give you a good spanking for this," Mrs. Kim exclaimed, her frustration propelling her to chase after Ji-hye playfully.

...

The Kim family gathered around the dining table, anticipation enveloping the room. Mr. Kim, taking a deep breath, observed his wife, Mrs. Kim, and their daughter Ji-hye as they assembled around the table, the alluring aroma of home-cooked food permeating the air, providing a temporary respite from the forthcoming conversation.

As they began to savor their meal, Mr. Kim's mind swirled with different thoughts, conflicting emotions battling within him, unsure whether to embrace sadness or rejoice in happiness.

Seated at the head of the table, Mr. Kim cleared his throat, his countenance serious yet brimming with a sense of purpose.

Ji-hye, her playful spirit ever-present, winked mischievously at her father. "What's the matter, Appa?" she inquired, her voice infused with a playful curiosity.

"There is an announcement I want tomake," he commenced, his voice steady.

"I have been presented with a promotion at work, one that entails relocating to New York." He revealed.

Mrs. Kim's eyes widened, a mixture of surprise and excitement dancing across her visage. "New York? That is truly remarkable, my dear!" she exclaimed, her voice tinged with eagerness.

Ji-hye looked up from the food she was focused on, her curiosity piqued. "So, we're really moving?" she asked, her voice tinged with a mixture of excitement and apprehension.

Taking a moment to gather his thoughts, Mr. Kim nodded and began to explain, his gaze shifting between his wife and daughter. "Yes my dear, we are embarking on this journey. This opportunity holds great promise, not just for me, but for our entire family. It will grant us new experiences, enhanced educational prospects, and a sea of boundless possibilities."

Ji-hye's face lit up with uncontainable excitement. "Yaaayyyy! Finally, I will get to see my big brother after such a long time!" she exclaimed, her voice brimming with exhilaration.

As Ji-hye's mind raced with thoughts of adventure and cultural exploration, a sense of melancholy tugged at her heart. Leaving behind cherished friends, her school, and all that was familiar presented a formidable challenge.

"But what about my friends, my school, and everything I hold dear?" Ji-hye voiced her concerns, her voice tinged with vulnerability.

Mrs. Kim, extending a comforting hand across the table, gently clasped her daughter's. "I understand your worries, Ji-hye. However, consider all the new friendships you will forge and the diverse experiences that await us. This is an opportunity for growth and a fresh beginning."

Pondering her mother's words, Ji-hye shifted her gaze between her parents. It dawned upon her that this move was not solely about her father's promotion; it was a chance for their family to embrace change, to seize new opportunities together.

After a moment of contemplation, a radiant smile graced Ji-hye's face as her excitement triumphed. "Very well, let us embark on this adventure! Let us go to New York and make the most of every opportunity together!"

Amidst the playful banter, Ji-hye teasingly remarked, "And I won't forget to handle anyone who dares to cross my path!"

Mr. Kim couldn't help but smile at his daughter's spirited nature and open-mindedness. "That's my girl," he uttered, his voice brimming with a mixture of pride and affection.

Curiosity brimming within her, Mrs. Kim inquired, "So, when shall we depart for New York?"

A glimmer of excitement in his eyes, Mr. Kim responded, "We shall depart next Friday, my love. It is time for both of you to prepare."

Ji-hye, teasingly attempting to provoke her mother, couldn't resist a playful comment. "Oh, yes, Mum, Jae-Hyun will surely miss me more than you. After all, trouble seems to follow your path," she jested, a mischievous grin adorning her face.

Mrs. Kim, not one to back down from banter, retorted, "Stop your insolence, Ji-hye. You are nothing but a stubborn brat, always courting mischief."

Mr. Kim, amused by the playful exchange, intervened, cautioning his wife, "Enough of this banter, Eun-ji. Do not bully my little princess."

Jealousy tinged her words, Mrs. Kim replied, "Oh, now she's your princess, is she?"

Ji-hye, undeterred, responded cheekily, "Fear not, Mum, you can have your husband all to yourself. I shall soon find my Prince Charming. Until then, your husband belongs to us."

Mr. Kim, caught in the middle of their friendly rivalry, simply smiled, cherishing the bond between his wife and daughter.

"Enough of these endearments, Mother. It is time to eat our meal," Adrian insisted, a touch of playfulness in his voice.

"Is it now a crime to display affection toward my beloved son?" Judith playfully retorted.

"No, Mother, but if you shower me with all your affections now, how will your future daughter-in-law have the opportunity to impress me?" he teased.

Chapter 2 INTENSE ALTERCATIONS

The grand, golden door swung open, revealing Vincent Blackwood, the formidable business tycoon. In his forties, he emanated an imposing aura of power and aloofness. Adorned in a meticulously tailored suit, he exuded an air of authority that commanded respect. His piercing, cold, and calculating eyes unveiled a man who would stop at nothing to achieve his ambitions. Vince, as he is commonly known, held the position of the exceptionally intelligent CEO of a powerful conglomerate.

Vincent Blackwood, an individual of immense influence, presided over a vast empire, comprising a multitude of companies spanning various sectors. From technology and healthcare to oil and gas, Vincent's acumen in the business realm knew no bounds. Yet, his aspirations extended beyond mere corporate conquests as he ventured into the realm of academics. Within the bustling confines of New York City, Vincent Blackwood took immense pride in owning and overseeing the largest college in the metropolis. Aptly named Blackwood College, this esteemed institution stood as a testament to Vincent's unwavering commitment to education and intellectual growth. As Vincent cast his piercing gaze upon them, clutching his office bag tightly, Adrian, stuttering nervously, inquired, "F-father, w-what brings you here at this hour?" "What do you mean? Can I not even visit my own house whenever I desire?" Vincent bellowed, his voice resonating with authority. "No, that's not what he meant, Vince," Judith interjected, defending her son. "Considering how frequently you travel for extended periods, sometimes for two to three months, and the fact that you only left home last week." "And who granted you the audacity to talk back to me?" Vincent yelled at Judith. "No, Vince, I was merely stating-" Judith attempted to explain, but Vince abruptly silenced her with a vulgar outburst. "Silence, you wretched woman!" "Dad, please, do not be angry with Mum. It is all my fault," Adrian pleaded. Vince shot him a deadly glare. "I have no business with this woman. I returned tonight for an important meeting tomorrow morning, and I am taking you along to introduce you as the heir to Blackwood Holdings," he declared to Adrian. "But, Dad, I do not wish to be involved in this," Adrian expressed, already feeling disheartened. "And I did not ask for your permission," Vincent retorted, striding away. "Mum, can you see what Dad is doing? He is forcing me to attend the meeting, and I have no interest in it," Adrian confided in Judith. "My son, listen to your dad and comply with his wishes. Do you want him to blame me? Do you want people to point fingers at me?" Judith queried. "No, Mum, I do not wish to cause you any more trouble. I will heed your advice," Adrian said. "Alright, finish up and retire to bed," Judith instructed before departing from the dining area. **VINCENT'S CHAMBERS** Judith took a deep breath, summoning her courage, and gently knocked on Vince's door. Despite their numerous disagreements, she still believed that through open communication, they could salvage their relationship. With hope in her heart, she yearned for Vince to be willing to listen. "Nervously, Judith uttered, "Vince, can we please have a conversation? It is crucial that we address our issues and find a way to reconcile." Vince responded arrogantly, "Oh, it is you. What could you possibly want to discuss? I have more important matters to attend to than wasting my time with you." Trying her best to remain composed, Judith implored, "Vince, I implore you, please. I firmly believe that if we communicate openly, we can find a path towards resolution. Our relationship is worth fighting for." Mocking laughter escaped Vince's lips. "Worth fighting for? Do you truly believe that? You are delusional if you think I have any interest in repairing things with you." Judith's heart sank, wounded by Vince's dismissive and arrogant demeanor. She had hoped that he would be open to at least having a conversation, but his response only fueled her frustration. Maintaining a steady voice, Judith persisted, "Vince, I beseech you, please, just listen to what I have to say. I yearn to comprehend your perspective and find common ground between us." Angrily, Vince retorted, "Find common ground? There is no common ground, Judith. It is abundantly clear that I operate on an entirely different level than you. I have no time for your trivial matters." Feeling her patience wane, Judith mustered her strength. "Vince, this relationship requires the effort of two individuals. We must work together, listen to one another, and seek a compromise. This is how a healthy relationship thrives." Sarcastically, Vince interrupted, "A healthy relationship? Spare me the clichés, Judith. You simply aren't worth the effort. Now, kindly depart before you further waste my invaluable time." "But I love you deeply, Vince. Please, think about our son," Judith pleaded. "I believe you have forgotten your place, woman. You are merely a mistress, not a wife. Do not mistake one for the other, do you comprehend?" Vince roared as he tightened his grip around her throat. "Y-y-yes, please release me. I'm struggling to breathe," Judith managed to utter amidst her tears. Immediately, Vince released his hold on her. "Now, leave my room," he ordered. Coughing heavily, Judith hastily fled from Vince's chamber, desperate for fresh air ... **BLACKWOOD COLLEGE NYC** Amidst the sprawling grounds of Blackwood College, a prestigious school nestled in opulent surroundings, a vision of grandeur and elegance unfolds. Majestic buildings, adorned with intricate architectural details, proudly rise against the azure sky, casting regal shadows upon manicured lawns and vibrant gardens. This institution, known for its affiliation with Vincent Blackwood, exudes both the beauty of education and the splendor befitting a realm of affluence. As the sun bathes the campus in its golden glow, students from privileged backgrounds gracefully traverse cobblestone pathways, adorned in designer attire. Each step they take exudes an air of confidence and entitlement, a testament to the world they were born into. The atmosphere crackles with ambition and entitlement, mingling with the whispers of success that echo through the hallowed halls. Inside the magnificent corridors of Blackwood Academy, the pursuit of knowledge reaches new heights. Luxurious classrooms, adorned with ornate chandeliers and plush furnishings, provide a backdrop where intellectual curiosity thrives. The walls, adorned with masterful artwork and inspiring quotes, serve as constant reminders of the legacy the students are destined to uphold. On a sunny morning at this prestigious institution, the sound of roaring engines fills the air as "The Elite Wheels" make their grand entrance. Jermaine, with his sleek and shiny black sports car, leads the way, exuding an air of confidence that suggests he owns the entire world. Adrian follows closely behind in his metallic silver convertible, the wind gracefully tousling his perfectly styled hair. Lastly, Seth arrives in his vibrant red muscle car, adding a touch of rebelliousness to the group. Jermaine, as he parks his sleek black sports car, smirks at his friends. "Gentlemen, yet another flawless entrance. I can practically sense the envy in the air." Adrian, stepping out of his silver convertible with a confident swagger, chuckles. "Indeed, Jermaine. Wherever we go, we leave an indelible mark. It's simply the way we conduct ourselves." Seth emerges from his vibrant red muscle car, grinning mischievously. "And today, my friends, we have surpassed ourselves. This will undoubtedly be the talk of the school for weeks to come." Jermaine surveys the crowd and raises an eyebrow. "Absolutely. Let them gaze and wonder. We embody the epitome of success, after all." Adrian playfully nudges Seth and teases, "Seth, my friend, you better be careful. Your red beauty might just steal the show today." Seth smirks and responds, "Who needs subtlety when one can turn heads? Making a bold statement is what it's all about, my friends." Just then, Lara Brown, the queen of Blackwood College, makes her entrance, emanating an air of arrogance and haughtiness. She is dressed impeccably, radiating beauty and confidence. Alongside her, Sasha, her friend also enters with pride. "Oh my, Lara looks absolutely stunning," a student compliments. "Sasha is also looking fabulous," another student remarks. The bell rings, signaling the start of class, and students rush towards their respective classrooms. Lara and Sasha arrive at their seats promptly. Lara catches a glimpse of Gilbert, a scholarship student, and confronts him, yelling, "Hey, what are you doing here?" Gilbert replies calmly, "I am here to attend class, just like everyone else." "Shut up and get out! Who gave you the audacity to be in the same class as me? Leave now!" Lara yells, her voice dripping with disdain. "Please, Lara, let me be," Gilbert pleads with her. "Eeww, don't come near me! You stink!" Lara holds her nose in disgust. "Pathetic loser! How dare you speak to Lara Brown?" Sasha chimes in. "Do you see what I mean? I don't understand why Uncle Vince would entrust the management of this school to his mistress. She keeps admitting poor and frustrated people like him," Lara vents in frustration. "Now get your pathetic self out of here!" Lara yelled "He's going nowhere. He will remain seated here in class, alongside all of you," a voice echoes from the back door. Everyone turns to see who dares to challenge Lara Brown. Lara herself is shocked to the core, and so are all the other students. Stammering, Lara manages to utter, "Y-y-you?"

Chapter 3 THE BIG BULLY

"Yes, it is me," Adrian replied icily.

Lara responded with an air of discomfort, "Oh, look who has finally graced us with their presence. What's up, Adrian?"

"Save your pleasantries for yourself, Lara," Adrian retorted.

Startled, but quick to regain composure, Lara replied, "Adrian? Um, nothing really. Just engaging in a cordial conversation with Gilbert."

Adrian's tone grew stern, "It is not acceptable to bully someone simply because they are a scholarship student, let Gilbert be."

Mockingly, Lara retorted, "Oh, are we defending the poor little scholarship kid? What's the fuss? He should know his place."

Nervously, Gilbert interjected, "Adrian, it's alright. Just ignore her."

Lara furiously raised her hand to slap Gilbert, Adrian stepped between Lara and Gilbert, but Gilbert immediately tried to stop Adrian from saying more to Lara.

Adrian placed a reassuring hand on Gilbert's shoulder. "No, Gilbert, I refuse to stand idly by while someone like Lara attempts to diminish your worth by bullying you, You deserve respect, just like anyone else."

Becoming defensive, Lara challenged, "Who do you think you are, Adrian? The prince of Blackwood College?"

With a determined expression, Adrian responded, "While I may be the son of the President of this prestigious college, that does not grant you the right to treat others unjustly. You should feel ashamed of yourself."

Angry, Lara dismissed with a wave of her hand, "Whatever, Adrian. I have no time for this." She stormed off, casting a venomous glare at Gilbert.

Adrian turned to Gilbert, offering a reassuring smile. "Do not fret over her, Gilbert. You are an integral part of this college, just like anyone else. If she dares to trouble you again, inform me. I shall not tolerate anyone bullying you or anyone else."

Grateful, Gilbert expressed his appreciation, "Thank you, Adrian. Your support means a great deal to me."

The students were left stunned and curious as to why Adrian, being part of the Elite wheel , would find himself in the general class. Ordinarily, the elite had their own separate classes they do attend.

Just then, a teacher entered the scene. Adrian cheerfully greeted the teacher and promptly proceeded to his own class.

KOREA SEOUL

Ji-hye and her mother, Mrs. Kim, hurried through the bustling streets of Seoul, carrying bags filled with their shopping. They had an exciting adventure ahead: getting ready to move to the vibrant city of New York. Ji-hye, known for her mischievous spirit, couldn't contain her excitement.

When they entered a trendy boutique, Ji-hye's eyes lit up with anticipation.

She noticed a display of colorful accessories and couldn't resist sneaking away from her mother's watchful gaze. She playfully tried on oversized sunglasses, flashy hats, and funky scarves, giggling to herself all the while.

Ji-hye darted through the aisles, her fingers gently grazing the vibrant fabrics.

Aware of her daughter's antics, Mrs. Kim searched through the clothing racks, calling out, "Ji-hye, we need to find practical outfits for the city. We don't want to look out of place."

Ji-hye emerged from behind a rack, wearing a comically large hat and holding a jumble of mismatched accessories. With a mischievous grin, she exclaimed, "But Mom, New York City is all about standing out! We need to make a statement!"

"Ji-hye, we also need to find warm coats for the chilly New York winters," Mrs. Kim reminded her.

Ji-hye let out a dramatic sigh and rolled her eyes, although her mischievous smile betrayed her excitement. "Alright, alright, Mom. But can't we at least look for something stylish too? I want to make a fashionable entrance in the Big Apple!"

Mrs. Kim chuckled, understanding her daughter's desire to make an impression. Together, they explored the boutique, selecting warm coats, cozy sweaters, and fashionable accessories that would keep them both comfortable and stylish in their new home.

As they headed towards the cashier, Ji-hye couldn't resist teasing her mother. "Hey, Mom, do you think New York City is ready for the unstoppable duo of Ji-hye and Mrs. Kim?"

Playfully tapping Ji-hye's arm, Mrs. Kim replied, "Oh, I believe they better be. We will bring a touch of Seoul's spunk and style with us wherever we go!"

With laughter and anticipation in their hearts, Ji-hye and Mrs. Kim exited the boutique, ready to conquer the world together, one fashionable step at a time.

THE KIM HOME, KOREA

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, orange glow through the windows of their Seoul apartment, Ji-hye and her mother, Mrs. Kim, found themselves amidst a flurry of half-packed suitcases and scattered belongings. They were preparing for their relocation trip to New York the following morning, and Ji-hye's mischievous nature added an element of liveliness to the task at hand.

Mrs. Kim, a perpetually worried and nagging presence, paced back and forth, her brow furrowed with concern. "Ji-hye, please focus and assist me in packing. We have a great deal to accomplish, and we cannot afford any delays," she chided, her voice tinged with frustration.

Ji-hye, with a mischievous glint in her eyes, deliberately moved at a leisurely pace, dragging her feet as she gathered her belongings. "Oh, Mom, why must we go through all this trouble? Can't we simply leave them behind? It's too much work," she grumbled, intentionally provoking her mother.

"Ji-hye! Can you not be serious for once? We do not have time for your pranks!" Mrs. Kim snapped, her frustration boiling over.

Ji-hye, a mischievous grin adorning her face, twirled her sock puppets and replied in a mock-serious tone, "But Mom, these socks are eager to join us on our grand adventure! They are convinced they can become stars on Broadway!"

Mrs. Kim couldn't help but chuckle, her heart warmed by Ji-hye's infectious enthusiasm. "Well, if those socks harbor dreams of becoming Broadway stars, who are we to stand in their way? Let us make space for them in the suitcase," she said, playing along.

With renewed excitement, Ji-hye continued her imaginative play. She gathered clothes, toys, and various trinkets, each item transforming into a prop for her lively make-believe world.

When Ji-hye reached for her cherished stuffed animal, a well-worn bunny with floppy ears, she held it high, pretending it was a famous explorer. "Captain Flopsalot, are you prepared to conquer the concrete jungle of New York with us?" she asked, giving the bunny a high-pitched, adventurous voice.

Mrs. Kim smiled, her heart swelling with affection for her spirited daughter. "Oh, Captain Flopsalot must be thrilled to join us on this daring adventure," she replied, matching the playful tone.

Together, they packed their belongings, engaging in playful banter and laughter along the way. Amidst the chaos of their spirited packing session, memories of their time in Seoul filled the room. Mrs. Kim paused, a nostalgic smile gracing her lips as she stumbled upon a worn photo album. "Remember when we had that picnic in the park, and you decided to chase after the ducks, Ji-hye?" she asked, her voice tinged with amusement.

Ji-hye's mischievous demeanor softened for a moment as she peered at the old photographs, a fondness evident in her eyes. "Oh, Mom, those ducks never saw me coming! But I bet New York has some truly swift pigeons to chase!"

As the night grew darker, their apartment transformed into a labyrinth of packed boxes and sealed suitcases. Mrs. Kim surveyed the scene, a mixture of exhaustion and satisfaction on her face. She approached Ji-hye, enveloping her in a warm embrace.

"Ji-hye, my little adventurer, tomorrow we embark on a new chapter of our lives. New York awaits us, with all its excitement and wonders. But remember, no matter where we go, we shall always have each other," Mrs. Kim said, her voice filled with love and determination.

Ji-hye grinned mischievously, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Yes, Mom, partners in crime, ready to conquer the Big Apple! New York won't know what hit it!"

Amidst their mother-daughter moments, Mr. Kim entered the room.

"Oh, Appa is back!" Ji-hye exclaimed happily, running to embrace her father.

"My princess, how are you?" he asked.

"Appa, I'm not fine. I'm exhausted from shopping and packing," Ji-hye complained, pouting.

"I'm sorry, my princess. Have a goodnight's rest. We have a long journey ahead of us tomorrow," he said, patting her back.

Mrs. Kim cleared her throat. "So, am I invisible?"

"No, honey. Come here," Mr. Kim said, gesturing for her to hug him.

But she playfully tapped his chest and left the room in anger.

"You see, your mother's temper is fiery," Mr. Kim remarked.

"Go and make amends with your wife, Appa, before she metes out a grave punishment," Ji-hye chuckled and winked before running off to her room.

Mr. Kim chuckled lightly, but as his mood shifted, he fell into deep thought, seeming confused.

As Ji-hye settled into her bed that night, the room filled with hushed whispers of anticipation. Her mind buzzed with thoughts of the adventures that awaited them on the bustling streets of New York, and her dreams were filled with visions of playful escapades and new friendships to be forged. Yet, sadness also enveloped her. She felt a pang of sorrow for leaving behind her childhood neighborhood and friendships.

"It's the law of life, anyways. Twenty friends cannot stay together for twenty years," she said, motivating herself.

She drifted off to sleep, ready to embrace the excitement and challenges that awaited her in her new home.
