Prologue šŗ
In a small town known as Demonville, the three species are on an occasional brawl with each other. Inoder to prevent the common wars, the town council created a paranormal police service to always Kindle the ongoing wars, the paranormal police are supernaturals themselves from the three species who swore to protect the town.
When a werewolf from a pack on the east side of the town got possessed by a demon, and almost wiped half the town, he was captured by the paranormal police and jailed.
During his stay in prison, he came to realize that during the next blood moon, the demon that had possessed him will completely take over his body making him to loose control over his own body.
Hence he escaped from jail to try and find someone to help him get rid of the demon inside him.
SNEAK PEAK
ššššš
Leigh smacked an unyielding magical box that Keely had brought her.
"Come on" She grunted with frustration. The metallic box clinked with every punch coming across it.
Leigh was frustrated, her banter with her twin sister was now getting too far, this was yet another prank she had pulled on her, and a bad one on that note, she had kept all her savings inside the box and now she needed the money to buy a dress for the homecoming party at her school which was going to be the next day.
Balling her fist, she stormed out of her room and walked straight to Keelys room. She didn't mind knocking and immediately barged in, Keeley didn't seem to like the lack of etiquette.
"This is not a toilet leigh." Keeley said rolling her eyes while typing something on her phone, she rolled on the bed and gazed at her sister quizingly.
Leigh glared at her. "What did you do to the box you gave me as a birthday gift?"
"Ooh that?" Keeley smiled.
"Is that why you barged in like that?". She asked.
"Of course not" Leigh groaned. "I came to read late night story for you. What else could bring me here?" Leigh half yelled.
Keeley face suddenly lighted up and she stood pacing towards Leigh. "Now that, was payback dear sister, do you remember what you did to me last semester?". She whispered on Leigh's ears
Leigh sighed heavily. "That was two months ago."
"Did you forget what you did." She paused. "You ruined my date with Russel. He hates me now because of you idiot."
"Russel was dangerous to you, he is a werewolf, I wanted to protect you."
"I can protect myself Leigh, you are not the only one with magic, so stop getting over yourself." Keeley mumbled slowly. She jumped back on her bed and continued chatting.
Leigh breathed in deeply closing her eyes sharply, she knew that when Keeley made her mind about something, persuading her out of it could be as hard as breaking a coconut shell using a spoon.
She left keeleys room and returned to her own room.
***
She had now spent nearly all afternoon trying to break the spell box, using all type of magic but it was futile. It was only keeley that knew the type of spell she had used to lock the box.
Her phone started ringing and she picked it up quickly, it was Bonnie on the caller ID. She slided the receiver and placed it on her ear."Bonnie" she whispered with frustration.
"Hey, what's wrong, why do you sound pissed off." Bonnie asked
"Its keeley"
Bonnie chuckled making Leigh to groan while rolling her eyes. "What did she do this time" Bonnie asked.
"She pulled the worst prank of the century at the wrong time."
"Let me guess, she made mushrooms grow at your feet?"
Leigh chuckled. "Why would she do that."
"Because I know how you love your feet?" Bonnie replied with amusement.
"No, it's not that."
"what did she do" Bonnie asked attentively her tone laced with curiosity.
"She casted a locking spell on my saving box." Leigh stated codly while smacking her forehead.
"Ooh, what did you want to do with the money?"
"I wanted a new dress, Liam gave me a date, I can't embarrass myself, all our clothes are brought by my mum and you know how she always makes us wear."
"Did she know about the date?"
"I don't know."
"Cant you talk her out of it?"
Leigh groaned for the hundredth time"Keeley is a pain in the ass, once she makes a decision, she can not falter."
"Anyway, why did you called, I'm sure you didn't call to hear about the squabble between me and my twin." Leigh asked with curiosity.
"Yeah, that's right. There is something wrong that happened yestarnight"
"What is it?" Leigh asked quickly standing up, her heart beat rose and she begun pacing around.
"I heard that Theo Williams escaped from the D. P. P (Demonville paranormal police)" Bonnie replied.
Leigh was alarmed, she recognized the name quite well. Theo is a werewolf from the indigo pack which is located east of Demonville town, he is the elder brother to Russell and was going to take over as alpha after their father if it was not of what happened to him.
It reached a time that it was believed Theo got possessed by a demon, he went rogue and engaged in a killing sphree, the town council had to summon the D.P.P to stop him.
Leigh's body tensed on the revelation. "How did you know?" She asked impatiently.
"The whole town is on the radar, I heard that the school board decided to cancel the homecoming party, it's not safe with Theo on the loose" Bonnie replied.
Leigh sighed, atleast she wasn't going to look like a fool on Liam's eyes. "Did you hear anything spooky after his breakout?"
"No" Bonnie replied.
Leigh knew it was a matter of time before something bad could happen, it was the norm of Demonville, being the home to three supernatural species. One time it would be the Vampires causing chaos the next time it would be the werewolves. Her coven, was the only thing that stood between the humans in Demonville from going extinct from the occasional squabble between the werewolves and the Vampires.
Leigh heard her mother calling her for dinner downstairs. "Ill have to go Bonnie, I can smell roast chicken calling me."
Bonnie giggled."Okay miss, I'll talk to you later."
"Bye" Leigh whispered.
"Bye" Bonnie replied before hanging up.
**********
The D. P. P had put a curfew on the town now inoder to catch Theo easily. The residents of Demonville were advised to stay indoors in numbers mostly the humans, Theo was a powerful Lycan and defeating him judging from the fact that he is rogue is almost like trying to fetch water using a net.
Leigh took a spell book from her shelves and sat on her bed and begun reading, as she tried to memorize the spells, her grandmothers words came to her head.
'In our coven, firstborns have high responsibility than anyone else in the coven, the firstborns were CHOOSEN to maintain balance whenever it was needed." Leigh smiled. Before she died, her grandmother was her best ally, she had taught her different type of spell that made her become the top teenage witch on their coven. She had added.
'In every blood moon, the firstborns in every house around the covens are blessed with immense power by the ancestors, the powers should only be used to help the vulnerable, there was consquences if anyone decided to use their power wrongly.'
Leigh closed the spell book and returned it to her closet, she knew if the time came and she got the power that her late grandma had said, she was never going to use it wrongly. She hated the vampires and the werewolves and swore to protect the humans against them, it was the reason she had ruined Keeley date with Russel, she didn't want her sisters life to be in danger when the two predatory species decided to tear each other limbs as they usually do.
She was about to go to bed when something hitted her window, she stood safe and listened. For a few moments, nothing happened, but when she was about to climb to bed. A hand appeared on her window with blood covering it, the face of a man appeared and pleaded for help.
"Help me" the man said before collapsing out of her window. Without thinking, she raced out towards their backyard, the man was lying on his stomach and was bleeding, he turned him to see his face and froze on the spot. It was Theo, he had several bullet wounds which were not healing. She observed the wounds and realized why they were not healing. The bullets were made of silver and the wounds were emmitting a blueish mist.
Theo suddenly moved slightly and opened his eyes. "Help me?" he stated again lifting his right hand before collapsing again on the ground passing out.
TBC.....
Leigh had two decesions to make quickly, and both required critical thinking. It was either she called the D. P. P informing them of Theo location, or stood there and watch him bleed to death.
The latter seemed to be more convincing, she didn't feel any remorse or pity for him. Why should she, he deserved everything that was happening to him right now, anyway how many innocent lives had he claimed when he went rogue, Leigh thought bitterly.
But then, the word rogue stuck on her thoughts like a sore thumb, he was rogue, the word was rogue, he was rogue when he massacred the town. It didn't mean that he did it on purpose. If it was true about the demon that possessed him, then maybe he was innocent.
Her eyes hovered on the limp body lying on the ground stiff, Theo's back went up and down in a rhythm a clear indication he was still breathing. Maybe she was lying to herself, maybe she wanted to help him.
Her grandma words came to her head again. 'You don't counter a bad thing with another bad thing, doing so will make things worse'.
She suddenly raced to their house and knocked on keeley's door, after knocking for sometime, Keeley opened the door while rubbing her eyes lazily.
"What is it?" She mumbled while yawning loudly. Leigh pulled her hand without hesitation and directed her towards their backyard. Keeley dragged behind Leigh still not sure what was happening, she atleast thought she was dreaming and wondered why her sister would drag her outside at the middle of the night.
It was only when Leigh stood beside a body that she got to her senses, she look at the body lying on the ground then to her sister unsure of whether her eyes were playing tricks on her.
Leigh pointed at the body and spoke. "Help me get him to my room"
Keeley bated her lashes feverently before her lips curled into surprise. "Leigh, what's going on here"
Leigh ignored her question and squatted before the body. "Would you stop asking questions and help me carry him into the house?, Unless you want him to bleed to death" she said curtly.
"Bleed?, Is he bleeding?, Who is he?, Why is he lying at your backyard." Keeley babbled feeling paranoid and afraid. Her eyes were still heavy with sleep and she was confused.
Even in Demonville, it isn't often that you wake at the middle of the night and find an almost dying body at your backyard.
After bracing herself by taking quick desperate breaths, she moved towards the body and helped Leigh to lift the man up.
The two girls staggered towards their door with a whopping 6"2 inches tall, 80 kg Theo on their shoulders, they carried him towards their stairs leaving trails of blood on the wooden floor as they moved.
Reaching the stairs, they had to pull him up, they couldn't walk past the stairs with him on their shoulders. After a tiring and heavy lifting of the almost dead lycan, they finally were able to pull him to keeley's room and made him lie on her bed.
Keeley now stared at Leigh with questions written allover her face. "Dont look at me like that, let's help him first, I'll explain everything later." Leigh stated walking towards her closet taking out a small dagger.
**************
The two girls sat down looking at Theo as he slept, his breathing was now normal and his wounds were now beggining to heal, on a small table next to Leigh's bed, was a metallic bowl with three silver bullets with inscription of D. P. P on them.
Leigh had managed to pull them out with the help of Keeley, she had learnt this from Liam who worked at the D. P. P representing the covens.
"Now what, you realize what you have gotten yourself into by helping him?" Keeley Suddenly asked breaking the prolonged silence.
Leigh seemed to be in thoughts while fixing her eyes entirely on Their. "I know" she muttered inaudibly.
"What are you going to do now"
"Once he wakes up, I'll take him to his pack, they will know what to do with him."
"Are you crazy Leigh. Do you want to get yourself killed?" Keeley asked her face going pale.
Leigh tilted her head and stared at her sister with a slight smile on her face, she seemed determined. "Not my plan exactly." she said.
"I'll perform a clocking spell on both of us and invade the indigo pack, no supernatural will be able to realize that I was there, I'll leave him there and come back. Happy?" she stated nonchalantly and Keeley heaved a relief sigh.
Keeley hugged her twin sister tightly squeezing her tightly. "Just don't get hurt, I still need to annoy you some more" she whispered on her back and Leigh chuckled.
"I won't , I promise." Leigh whispered back.
Theo suddenly moved while turning in bed and the two sisters stood up, he opened his eyes and tried to wake up but groaned loudly. The two sisters gazed at each other before Leigh suddenly rushed to her closet taking her spell book while talking to Keeley. "i'll perform the clocking spell now, meanwhile, go and wipe the trails of blood on the stairs, and don't mention any of these to mom and dad, until I return."
Keeley nodded her head and left without a word, Leigh smiled inwardly. Dispite their unending quarrels, the two were insparable, they loved each other and they were almost the same in everything. Keeley was abit extroverted, but that was it, she knew Leigh was the elder twin and knew when to argue and when to listen.
Leigh chanted the clocking spell clearly remembering every detail her grandmother had taught her, when she was sure she had everything in control, she helped Theo to rise on his feet and helped him walk out.
Theo was too exhausted to speak, he remained mute throughout the whole time which made Leigh cringe abit, she was still unsure of Theo and anticipated anything from him.
Leigh had already took her father's car keys and helped Theo to get inside the car before driving off.
********
The street was eerily silent as Leigh drove past the town square, it wasn't always like this, Theo was a popular name in Demonville. Not in a good way of course.
"Why did you choose to help me" a deep voice stated huskily next to Leigh almost making her to cause an accident. She breathed in deeply while concetrating on the road before looking at Theo who was observing her.
That was the first time he had literally spoken, and his voice, she didn't know how to explain it. Leigh looked at him realizing how handsome he really was, his bright green eyes with a slight glint of sadness on them looked suprisingly stunning.
His blonde hair though scruffy looked like golden strands. "You startled me" Leigh said returning her eyes on the road while ignoring his question completely.
Theo groaned and helped himself into a more comfortable position. "You understand that their is a curfew in place?"
Leigh glared at him. "Because of you"
"Why risk helping me?" Theo asked his gaze going vacant.
"Because i'm not a cold hearted psycho like you"
Theo glanced at her his eyes laced with a slight glint of sadness.
"Do you believe i'm a psycho killer" he asked in monotone.
Leigh faced him." Should I?"
"Maybe" he mumbled.
"Aint you scared I might do something to you" Theo added.
Leigh looked at him squarely. "I'm a firstborn witch, you don't stand a chance against me."
Theo chuckled before keeping quiet,.
To avoid the D. P. P patrol, Leigh veered of the main Street and took a rough road that led to the woods, the car sped past the trees with a creepy silence everywhere.
The sound of the engine speeding was now what could be heard. The two peaple inside the car kept quiet each one in his own ocean of thought.
After driving for several minutes Theo told Leigh to stop the car."Stop" he said gazing through the window. Leigh slowed down before applying the brakes and the car came into a screeching halt.
Theo opened the door to his side and staggered outside, they had arrived at the bayou the territory to the indigo pack. Leigh also walk out looking around.
"You can now leave" Theo stated coldly to Leigh.
"I'll leave when I seem it myself, can't leave you here yet, I didn't save your life just to waste it." Leigh replied curtly.
"I can smell the scent of my pack now, it'll be dangerous if they found you in their territory, you know the rules on territory."
"Look who is speaking about rules" Leigh stated sardonically.
Theo groaned giving up. "Your funeral " he muttered.
"Thank you" She stated nonchalantly.
The two set on foot walking through the bayou, the terrain was Abit sloppy and hard to trek on, Leigh was getting frustrated. Theo seemed to notice and decided to speak. "You know, you can get back from here, I can just shift and find my pack, it'll be easier for me, it'll also make my wound heal faster."
Leigh replied. "Not a chance"
Leigh noticed few wooden houses from afar and sighed. The two continued walking until they arrived at a clearing, the houses were now visible from here, the wooden shanties were aligned in a straight line moving in something like a straight line.
The quality of the houses improved with how the terrain got more hilly, the house at the top was more beutiful than the rest, it was weird.
"Alpha's house" Theo stated calmly realizing Leigh's confusion about the arrangements of the houses.
He added. "The house are aligned according to rank, the house at the topmost belongs to the alpha while the bottom one is occupied by omegas."
Leigh was baffled, she knew that wolves we're weird and difficult animals, but their social arrangements were even weirder.
Theo and Leigh's invasion had been long perceived by the packs patrol and they were immediately sorrounded, Leigh looked at Theo suprised.
They were about twenty werewolves sorrounding them all in wolf form.
The sound of bones breaking rented the air as a black wolf quickly shifted into human form, Leigh's mouth went gape as Russel stood before her naked.
Russel walked towards them observing them before finally speaking. "You shouldn't be here"
The question was vague as it wasn't clear who he was speaking to. Theo quickly spoke. "Is that how you welcome your big brother, Russel."
Russel seemed annoyed. "You two shouldn't be here, you have now put our pack into danger by coming here" he gazed at Leigh. "You, didn't your parents teach you about invading other peaples affairs?"
Leigh glared daggers at him. "Dont speak to me like that Russel. I just saved your brothers life, it's either you help him, or let him die. My job here is done."
"You should leave" Russel said curtly.
"Fine, I'm leaving." Leigh almost yelled at him. She heaved a sigh and glanced at Theo before turning to leave.
"I'm not your enemy Leigh. You should know that by coming here, you have put you and your family in danger. Next time, be careful of the choice you make."
Leigh left and walked away, she knew that there was truth in what Russel had said. But she had already put her hand on fire, now she had to prepare to endure the pain when it start getting burned.
"You want to say that you saw the murderous, psycho, crazy Theo and wasn't scared of him?" Bonnie whined while eying Leigh disbelievingly as they walked towards their class, the wizardry class.
"I never said I wasn't scared" Leigh breathed rolling her eyes.
"So you were scared?"
"a little"
"What did he look like, did he have claws, was his eyes black like coals, was he-"
"Bonnie!" Leigh cut Bonnie off.
"What?" she asked narrowing her face.
"You are paranoid" Leigh said rubbing her temples.
"I know" Bonnie said quickly. "But I'm just too overwhelmed." She added.
"Overwhelmed by what?"
"By the fact that my best friend helped a psycho killer" Bonnie stated with a tone.
"He is not a psycho killer Bonnie" Leigh replied defensively. Bonnie's mouth opened wide as she eyed her best friend skeptically, this was something knew.
"Leigh" she called her standing infront of the classroom door.
"What?" Leigh asked straddling her books closer to her chest.
"There must be something wrong with you"
"Why would you say that?" Leigh asked furrowing a brow.
"The guy killed nearly half the town, he is wanted by the D. P. P, if the coven comes to found out that you helped him, you gonna be in trouble." Bonnie said seriously as a matter of fact.
"They won't, I used a clocking spell." Leigh said while her eyes hovered past Bonnie's shoulder and her lips twitched into a smile.
Bonnie tilted her head to see the cause of her friends amusement and she grunted loudly.
A blonde sixteen year old boy waved his hands at Bonnie with a goofy smile.
"I think you have someone to worry about now more than me" Leigh smiled triumphantly as she walked past Bonnie into the class.
"If Jimmy speak to me a single word today, I swear I'll break his head." Bonnie mumbled under her breath and Leigh chuckled as they walked to their sits.
Bonnie sat at her sit which was next to Jimmie's seat, she was trying as hard as she could not to look at him and when she did, she closed her eyes sharply and sighed.
"Jimmy, why are you staring at me like that" she asked looking at him.
Jimmy stared at her with a wide grin on his face and opened his mouth to speak but Bonnie waved him off quickly.
"Forget I asked" she said and quickly removed a large book with an inscription.
WIZARDRY GRIMOIR
She flipped the pages and stilled at a particular section and begun reading.
SECTION 35 OF WIZARDRY
During the full moon on the bloodmoon witches are at their prime strength, if a witch at this point is incapable of maintenance of the power, it may consume them and cause something known as 'morte de familiar'. The excess power leave them and create a creature known as a familiar, without proper control, the familiar is capable of possessing a body.
Bonnie quickly closed the book and gazed where Leigh was, something ticked her mind and she kept quiet, she heaved a sigh and leaned on her chair while waiting for the lesson to start.
Then without wanting, she stole a glance at Jimmy, she regretted it, always, and always, Jimmy would find a way to annoy her.
"Can I ask you a question?" Jimmy suddenly asked when he realized that Bonnie had looked at him.
"Do you have to?" Bonnie breathed.
"Its important" he insisted.
"What is it?"
Jimmie's innocent face was quickly replaced by a goofy expression and Bonnie sweared.
"Don't" she warned.
"What do you call a bee that can't make up its mind.?" He asked smiling sheepishly.
Bonnie glared at him but she was curious, Jimmy had been really into Bonnie since grade four but his way of showing it was really weird, apart from his silly and lame jokes, he had no effective pick up lines.
"What do you call it" she asked defeated.
" Maybe" Jimmy said before bursting out laughing, Bonnie had no option but to chuckle as the other students gazed their way to see what's going on.
Mr Danville walked into the class and everything became organized, students stopped chatting and waited for him to begin his lesson.
He is nicknamed the spelling bee due to his love in spell lessons, he gazed at his students observing them for a while. Before walking towards his desk and placed his grimoir there.
"Witches and warlocks, I hope you had a nice weekend, hope you enjoyed it, or not." He stated. "This week is going to be a tough one and also a bussy one, it has come to our notice that a very dangerous Creature is out in the loose."
Bonnie and Leigh quickly stole glances.
Mr Danville continued. "Students are advised to stay in groups and if any of you should come across the creature, you should report to the paranormal police." He stopped and hovered his eyes across the classroom before continuing.
"Which is why today, I'm going to be talking about a very rare occurrence in the whole galactic existence. The bloodmoon."
Leigh felt her phone vibrating in her pocket and quickly removed it. There was a message from a new number and she quickly tapped on it opening it.
'Meet me after school' the message read. Leigh quickly typed an answer back.
'Who is it' she waited for sometime before the new number replied.
'It doesn't matter, I'll tell you where to meet me'
'I can't meet a stranger, I'm going to block you now' she texted.
The reply this time came faster. 'Fine, it's Theo. There is something I want to tell you, it's important.'
Leigh typed quickly. 'How'd you get my number'
'i'll tell you later. Meet me at Gerrard square after school, bye, I love you' he finished with a kiss and a heart.
Leigh unwillingly groaned loudly before realizing that she was still in class, Mr Danville glared at her, "Is there something you would like to share with us miss leigh." he asked curtly
"i'm sorry." She muttered closing her eyes in embarrassment.
TBC. ..
Theo rolled and turned in bed before opening his eyes squinting them in the process. He grunted as he smelled something odd in his old room.
He sat up and glanced towards his closet where the smell was coming from, he stood lazily and strutted to it before creeking the closet door open. He almost puked as he snapped it close and staggered backwards swearing.
"For crying out loud, what the hell is that" he shouted squeezing his nose in disgust.
"Its a talisman" A feminine voice stated as Theo quickly tilted his head towards the voice direction. A young woman who seemed to be on her early twenties stood at the door staring at him blankly.
"Anna?" Theo muttered staring at the young woman who resembled him like a coin to another.
The young woman, Anna walked inside while speaking. "After your capture by the paranormal police, father believed that this place is still haunted by the demons that possesed you, he sought help from a western witch and they said that he should put something here that you love, you loved hunting wild meat, so he hunted a deer and kept it here, it has been here for as long as I can remember."
Theo hugged his young sister quickly but she remained stiff and didn't return the hug. Theo seemed hurt but veiled his expression with a fake smile. "I missed you little sister." he stated warmly.
"I wish I could say the same Theo, Father wants to see you." Anna stated flatly and immediately left.
Theo staggered backwards dropping his weight on the edge of the bed while breathing heavily, he didn't know his family had developed so much hate for him, last night it was his younger brother, Russel who had always revered him and took him as an idol didn't want to see him, now it was his younger sister? there is no amount of words that could explain the love that Anna had for him, but few moments was clear enough for him how she now feel about him, Theo didn't want to think about his mother.
Not less his dad who he knew what to expect from. All this hate and loathing for him just because he was possessed, he knew what had happened after the demon took over his being, he had felt a very strong urge for blood, starting with the pack, he had killed five omegas and the son to his father's Betta matheo before he invaded the town and massacred it.
He pulled a white shirt on and a blue tight jeans and opened his wooden door, walking out, he breathed the fresh bayou air savoring the moment, who knows how long he would be here, spending time under the paranormal police had not been a ride in the pack.
Theo avoided the sharp gazes he received from the peaple around as he walked towards his father's cabin, knowing his father too well, he was walking stealthily.
Meeting the old man wasn't only a meeting. Suddenly, something pushed him hard as he crashed to a nearby tree falling to the ground and sputtered blood on the ground. He glanced up and saw a gray wolf glaring at him while snapping it's jaws growling continuously.
He immediately shifted just in time to escape a claw fist, the gray wolf again charged at him going for the flesh in his neck but Theo used his head and pushed it by the neck making it to loose it's balance, Theo emmitted a warning growl but the wolf took no notice and attacked him again, this time it was too fast for him and knocked him on the ground before it went for the soft flesh on his stomach, Theo shrieked in pain and kicked with his hind quarters, the wolf made a guttural growl and Theo stilled.
It stood licking it's fangs before howling loudly, the howl of an alpha. In a pack where there are two Wolves with the will and power of an alpha, the current alpha always has to prove he is still the 'Alpha' The gray wolf shifted and Theo stared at his father as he himself shifted back. Theo is as powerful as his father if not more.
The old man despite his old age seemed quite strong. Though old age was quickly catching up with him as there was merely a black strand in his head, he glared at his elder son narrowing his face.
"You were holding back, why?" He asked coldly with a deep voice.
"I wasn't holding back" Theo denied escaping his father's flaring gaze.
"I've been an alpha for over twenty years, and I know when someone isn't giving his all, what were you afraid off, were you scared you will kill me, like you did to my Betta's son, your best friend when you left?" The old alpha asked curtly observing his son who was trying very hard not to speak back to him.
Theo was beggining to loose it and he felt the demon slowly pushing up to take control, he knew what that could mean, if it happens, history could repeat itself, when he was at the paranormal detention centre, they used to tie him with silver which were able to restrain him.
"Listen" Theo said flatly feeling a sheen of sweat forming on his forehead. "I didn't come here to kill anyone, you all know I never did what I did on my own accord, the blood moon is near, and if I don't get rid of the demon before then, it will take over my body forever. I just came here to ask for your help, and if you can't help me, I'll just leave."
His father observed him for sometime before speaking. "Even so, you lost your place as the next alpha to this pack, even after you succeed, Russel will be the next alpha, and a pack can't have two alphas, so don't bother coming back here." The old alpha said coldly
"Trust me, I can perceive the hate you all have for me" Theo muttered silently.
"There is an extortionist in town I know off, but she is probably old by now, I think she can help you" Theo's dad said giving him an old paper with an address on it.
"Thank you" Theo muttered with gratitude.
"Don't thank me young man, just think about what you will do after getting rid of the demon, you have alot of enemies now." He said rubbing the back of his neck.
"You can leave."
Theo folded the paper and walked out, he took one of Russel's motorcycle and left the bayou.
He sped towards the town on the black cruser, the wind brushed past his face as he veered through the rough road leading out of the bayou. The air was fresh and pleasing it has always been like that at the bayou, with different types of trees growing there, the air was pure.
Their pack was the largest in the whole of Demonville, occupying large tracts of land, the indigo pack was always the most powerful one. But Theo knew things would change soon enough, when his father suprise attack him, he felt it, the old man was getting slower, if Theo wanted, taking him down could be as easy as snapping his fingers.
His mind flew off and fragments of image appeared on his head, images that had now turned to be like nightmares haunting him and robbing him of his sanity, Theo was teetering on a twilight of dispair and sadness. The night of his possesion was clear in his head, he remembers everything as if it was yesterday.
(Flashback)
Theo was sleeping in his cabin but something felt wrong, usually, his cabin which is closer to the alpa's cabin was sorrounded with large mahogany trees which had birds nest perched on them, Theo was used to the birds singing all the time, but that night, there was a deathly silent.
Outside, the wind was whistling with such an unusual noise, Theo unable to sleep opened his door and walked outside, he could feel his heart poundered on his chest as his spine tingled, he felt something strange in the vicinity.
He felt fear, he activated his wolf vision and peered in the dark, but there was nothing.
Then suddenly from nowhere, something dark appeared before him and dissapeared as soon as it appeared, that's when he felt it, the urge, it was so strong. He felt the urge for blood and wanted to kill.
Unfortunately, his best friend, Matheo son to the Betta and also the next Betta in line, was the first person he had killed. How it angered and troubled him, and no matter what happened, he knew that the incident will forever be imprinted on his heart, like a bad scar that will forever be there.
(End of flashback)
The sound of the cruisers engine going off rent the air as Theo stopped the bike, he alighted from it and removed the paper his dad had given him, he bit his lower lip and returned it in his pocket before walking towards the main Street.
He had pulled a hoodie on and walked quickly to avoid being noticed, he was sure the D.P. P were all around looking for him. Getting help was his first priority, he was ready to loose his life but not let the demon take over his body, it had snatched enough from him.
After walking for sometime, he stood outside an old building that was on the outskirts of Demonville, he again took the address and confirmed if he was at the right place.
He decided to use his super hearing and eavesdrop if there was anything spooky around and if he could get in.
Inside the building, an old woman sat on a rocking chair knitting a cardigan. Mrs Henrietta had already perceived someone was looking for her, the presence of something she had been hunting for ages was all too familiar for her.
She gazed at her black cat sitting on it's hind legs observing her and smiled at it.
"Do you feel it too" she stated calmly looking at the cat, the cat unable to understand what she was saying tilted it's head and meowed.
Mrs Henrietta snorted. "Of course not, you are just a cat"
Her door was finally knocked and she narrowed her eyes and breathed in deeply. "Come in" she stated loudly.
The door Creaked open as a young man entered, Theo. Already Mrs Henrietta had stood up, her lips slashing into a white slash. She glared at Theo.
"Why are you here?" she demanded
"I'm Theo, I wanted-" Mrs Henrietta cut him short. "I know who you are young man, why are you here" she retorted.
Theo realized she was clumsy, she was kind of scared of his presence. "Listen mrs-" he paused.
"Mrs Henrietta" she piped in.
"Mrs Henrietta, if you know me, I think you know why I'm here?" He questioned.
"I know why you are here, and I can't be of any help to you." she admitted.
"When I perceived your presence, I felt something I've never experienced in years, fear. The thing that posses you is very powerful."
"Thing?" Theo inquired.
"Yes" she breathed.
"I'm possesed by a demon" Theo hinted but Mrs Henrietta shook her head negatively.
"No, there is no demon inside you" she said and walked towards a wooden table and took a large old book that had it's covers tattered.
"Have a seat young man" she said returning with the book. Theo sat on the old sofa and looked at Mrs Henrietta, her wrinkled hands were shaking as she flipped through the pages of the old book. He realized that she was scared but not of him, she was scared of whatever was inside of him, which according to her, it was not a demon.
She looked up from the book, her pale face visible. "Whatever is happening to you is the work of a witch." she finally said.
Theo arched a brow. "What do you mean ?"
"Witches are far more powerful than perceived, they have been ever since the existence of the supernatural world." Mrs Henrietta acknowledged licking her lips while trying to stay still.
"In recent times, some of the western witches were persecuted, a certain woman known as Malia Reese lost her whole family to this persecutors." Mrs Henrietta sighed and looked at Theo who seemed puzzled.
"And who were these persecutors?" Theo wondered aloud.
"Your species." she stated flatly. "Your great grandfather was the alpha then. He wanted his species, the werewolves to be at the peak of the food chain. He wanted the werewolves to be the prime predators, but he feared the witches would prevent his cause."
"I don't understand, what does that got to do with whatever thing inside me?" Theo asked arching his brows.
"His cause was almost successful, he nearly got rid of the western coven but a girl survived, she was a firstborn witch, one among the most powerful witches to ever grace the earth. After getting her power from the blood moon, she cursed your great grandfather and all the firstborns in his generation." Mrs Henrietta stated and heaved a soft sigh.
"Whatever is inside of you, is the work of a very powerful witch, something far more worse than demon possession." Mrs Henrietta acknowledged while standing up.
Theo quickly stood. "How can I get free from this thing?"
"If you want to be free from it, find the descendants of Malia Reese, they are the only ones who can lift off the curse." she said and turned her back on him.
"That's the only thing I can help you with." she said in monotone.
Theo stood unsure of what to say she heaved a deep breath and left.

To find the descendants of Malia Reese, he needed a witch to help him, he needed a tracking spell, and luckily for him, he knew someone who could help.
He took his phone out and texted her telling her to meet him at Gerrard's square. He wasn't sure if she would come, but something told him she would come.
Sitting at a lone park chair, he crossed his fingers and waited for Leigh.
She was his only hope.
