THE DEBT SHE PAID IN SMILES

Author: savilovel1996
Genre: Romance
Ira's second life came with a contract, a countdown, and a body count she'd have to arrange herself. She fell out of a tree chasing a cat and woke up in another era entirely, in someone else's body, with a smug system informing her that going home again requires exactly one thing: marry the three most powerful men in the empire, make them love her - and then get them to kill her. Ira laughed the first time she heard it. It's not funny anymore. Two years later, she has a scholar who clawed his way from starving to the most dangerous mind in the capital, and loves her like she's the only rare thing he's ever been allowed to keep. A chancellor who runs the empire from the shadows and has never once, in his life, lost control of anything - except her. A general who doesn't waste words on love because he's never needed to; but with this nation, all he wants is her. All three are putting a knife against her throat, but strangely, what she has is a smile as they take her life

Chapter 1 Betrayed By The Ones She Loved

"Baby, be good try to loosen up a little". Jasper said as he spanked Ira and push.d hard at the same time.

Ryan also entered with full force.

Ira wanted to scream, but her mouth was busy with Kael. It looked like they all are matching the rhythm, making it hard for her to breathe normally.

They had been doing this for the past three hour. They just switching the places without taking a rest.

"Wife, say you love me" Kael said, as he sucked her neck while lying under her.

Ira knew that he was doing this intentionally, and as she expected, after getting no response from her, he started using more force making her more crazy.

She wanted to fulfill this demand, but Kael is present in her mouth with his little brother.

"Baby, say you love my little brother" Jasper demands shamelessly as he put Ira's legs on his shoulders and spanked her hard.

Ira looked at him with angry expressions and clenched her legs. But this move of hers has clenched little brother of Ryen.

So Ryen increased his force at the same time Jasper spanked Ira, causing her to loosen up.

Finally, and they both started increasing their speed, while Kayle, who was dealing with her mouth, grabing her neck, and finally came in.

Ira looked at him with pitiful eyes because she knew what is coming to next, and without her doubt, Kael grabbed her hair from behind and puts his little brother literally down to her throat.

After two or three more pushes, Kael finally take it out, and Ira gasped heavily.

"You bastard!" Ira cursed Kael as soon as her mouth got free.

"Baby, even after such a punishment, you still doesn't learn your lesson" Kael said as he grabbed Ira from the back of her neck and pulled her closer to him and kissed her mouth. And after kissing and sucking her mouth dry for whole three minutes, he finally left her.

'These bastard I have totally sopiled them' Ira motionlessly fall onto the side and took deep breath, but she had only taken a brief rest before Jasper spanked her again.

"Wife, you didn't say you love me, say it"

"You bastard, I will skin you alive. How dare you spank me?" Ira as the sting on her hips still hurts.

"Wife, you are being naughty again" Jasper said as he spanked Ira again.

Ira looked at him with wide eyes, and refused to say anything.

So Jasper increased the strength in his pushes and spanked three times at the same spot.

"You bastard,"

"Say you love me?" Jasper said again.

"I love you" Ira finally said, but before she could take a rest.

Ryan, who was behind her, kissed her neck hard and bit her lightly, making Ira almost lose her strength.

"What the hell are you doing, Ryan? Now you have become a dog,?" Ira said with heavy breath

"You forgot to say that your husband is amazing. Say it." Ryan said as he kissed her neck again.

"My husband is amazing," Ira said between her breaths as now both Jasper and Ryan have increased their speed.

After five minutes, Jasper finally came and let her take a rest.

But before she think that it would be over, Ryan once again increased his speed like an animal and do her for next fifteen minutes before coming and finally leaving her to take rest.

The candles had burned low as Ira lay between silk sheets stained the color of old wine, her dark hair spread across the pillow like something spilled rather than arranged.

Jasper's hand still resting at her hip, while Ryen's mouth still pressed against her collarbone, Kael sitting apart at the window, watching, the way he always watched, like he was cataloguing her for later.

They had loved her allnight. All three of them, in the tangled, desperate way people love something they've already decided to destroy.

She'd felt it in Ryen's hands - too careful, too reverent, like a man handling the last copy of a book about to be burned.

She'd felt it in the way Jasper wouldn't quite meet her eyes after, his cleverness gone quiet for once, a rare silence in a man who always had something to say.

Only Kael had been honest. Kael never pretended anything even at this moment.

She'd heard Jasper's voice through the door once, low and controlled in the way he was controlled about everything: After tonight. It has to be tonight.

And still she'd come to this bed.

Still she'd let them touch her like she was something holy, something they were allowed to hold exactly once more before the holding became a memory.

"You knew," Kael said now, finally, from the window and she knew this is not a question.

Ira turned her head against the pillow. In the low light his face was carved from shadow, beautiful the way a blade is beautiful.

"I knew," she agreed.

Jasper looks at her in shock. "Then why-"

Ira didn't answer.

"Say something," Ryen whispered. Not a demand, the way it would have come from Jasper but a plea.

She only looked at him, and let her silence answer for her.

Kael rose from the window at last. He crossed the room the way he crossed everything - without hesitation, a man who had never once in his life needed to be told an order twice, even one he'd given himself. He picked up the knife from the nightstand, where it had sat for hours.

Jasper's fingers curled into the sheets. "Kael-"

"You agreed to this," Kael said, without turning. "Both of you."

"That was before-" Jasper stopped himself.

Ira sat up. The sheet fell away reavling her snow white skin, and none of them looked at her body the way they had an hour ago - now they looked at her face, trying to find a trace of fear on her but she didn't give it to them.

Chapter 2 Reborn With A Cheesecake System

"It's alright," she said, and it was the only thing she said to any of them that night that sounded like mercy. "I've known longer than you think."

Ryen made a small, wrecked sound and reached for her hand. She let him take it. It seemed like the last true thing she could give him - not forgiveness, but permission to be the one who was gentle at the end.

Kael made her sit in his arms tightly grabbing her so even she wants to she can''t escape tonight's destiny.

Kael moved first, and the others followed, because that was the shape of the three of them - Kael decided, Jasper justified, Ryen witnessed.

"Sorry wife, but I have to do it" Ryen said as he stab her in stomach.

Jasper came and take her in his arms as he lightly kissed her cheeks "We will definately meet in another life baby" Jasper whispers as he stabs her in her heart and handed the knife to Kael.

Kael didn't take Ira from Jaspers arms he hugged her from behind and put the knife on her heck and with a move it all ended.

"ah..hahhaha" Ira looks at the three men of her life and smile at them the last time.

Not the smile of a woman in pain pretending bravery, not the smile of madness, it was the smile of someone who had read the last page and knows the ending.

And through all of it - through Jasper's ragged breathing and Ryen's silent tears and Kael's terrible steady eyes - Ira smiled.

"Thank you," she whispered - to all of them, her eyes stayed open when she died. Still smiling.

Outside, the candles finally guttered out.

hhh

Rehana looked toward the commotion. "There must be something interesting happening. Let's go there," she said, dragging Ira toward a crowd of elderly people gathered around a tree, chatting among themselves.

"Hey, what happened?" Rehana asked as soon as they reached the group.

"Hey, young girls!" one of them called out. "Finally, some young people!"

"Young girls, look there," another said, pointing up. "A kitten is stuck on that branch. Hurry up and save her."

Another elderly woman jabbed a finger toward the tree. "Look, look! There's a little kitten stuck on that branch! Hurry, go save her!"

Ira stood off to the side, glancing sideways at Rihana, silently waiting for her best friend to volunteer while munching her watermelon seeds.

"Ira, hurry up and save the kitten."

Ira's eyes went wide. "Me?"

'huh why what does it have to do with her' Ira looks at Rehana in amazement"

"Ira, you know I'm afraid of heights. I don't know how to climb a tree," Rehana said.

"Neither do I!"

"Oh, Ira, why are you throwing such a tantrum? Just hurry up and save it. Look how cute she is - what'll happen to her if you don't?" Rehana said, turning Ira's face toward the kitten, who stared back at her with an expression that promised to bite the first hand that came near.

"Meow."

Ira's eyes narrowed. "Honestly, I don't think she wants our help. Can we just go?"

Before she could take a single step back, a wrinkled hand clamped around her arm.

"Young girl, you have to save her!"

"Why?" Ira asked, genuinely stunned.

The old woman sighed, long and dramatic. "Young people these days have no humanity left."

Ira's jaw dropped. ""Since when did helping become a forceful thing-"?"

An old man chimed in before she could finish. "That poor kitten's been stuck up there forever!"

"Are you really going to just leave her?"

"Kids today have no heart at all!"

Within seconds the whole crowd was talking over each other, a chorus of disapproving murmurs closing in around her.

Ira looked around helplessly, cornered on all sides.

"Okay! Okay, fine!" She threw both hands up in surrender. "I'm going, I'm going!"

The old people burst into delighted applause. "Good girl!"

Gritting her teeth, Ira marched to the tree and began to climb - slow, careful, one shaky foothold at a time. After several minutes of undignified struggle, she finally reached the branch where the kitten sat waiting.

She inched closer. "Hey. Little cat." She kept her voice sweet, syrupy. "Don't do anything weird, okay? Just come here."

She stretched out a hand, smiling like she was posing for a toothpaste ad. "Come to pretty sister Ira~"

The kitten studied her outstretched fingers.

"Meow."

Then, with zero warning, it jumped.

Ira froze mid-smile. "...What?"

She looked down just in time to watch the kitten land gracefully on all four paws, shake out its fur, and stroll off without a single backward glance.

"WHAT?!" Ira stared, betrayed. "This little devil could climb down by herself this whole time?!"

She opened her mouth to unleash a full rant at the sky - and that was exactly when her hand slipped.

"Ah-!"

Her balance vanished. She tipped backward off the branch, and as gravity took her, the last thing that flickered across her vision was the face of a devastatingly handsome man, all eight abs on full display, dancing just for her.

He was already drifting away.

"No-!" Ira reached for him with everything she had.

BANG.

Darkness swallowed everything.

The final image burned into her mind before the world went black was Rihana's face hovering above her -smiling down at her, instead of looking worried.

"So noisy. Let me sleep," Ira mumbled, clapping her hands over her ears but the racket didn't stop forcing her to wakeup.

"What is wrong with-" She cracked her eyes open, and the sentence died in her throat, because nothing in front of her was right.

"Where am I? Where's my bed?!" she cried, realizing with horror that she was lying flat in the middle of a road.

This was not the street she'd fallen on.

There were no cars. No supermarkets. Instead, a road of packed dirt and uneven stone stretched out before her, lined with houses built from mud and straw.

Chapter 3 Marry Three Men !

People shuffled past in strange, coarse, old-fashioned clothing. Every single one of them looked poor.

"...am I on some movie set?"

Ding!

A strange chime rang out beside her ear.

Ira went rigid. "What was that?"

A glowing screen flickered to life in the air in front of her. On it sat a small, round butterlfy like creature.

Ira blinked. Then blinked again.

"...A caterpillar?"

The creature's face instantly twisted with outrage.

"I am not a caterpillar!" It planted its tiny hands on its tiny waist. "I am Little Cheesecake - the cutest little cheesecake in the entire universe!"

Ira's mouth twitched. It can talk.

The creature puffed out its wings with pride. "And I am your System."

Ira stared at it in silence for several long seconds. Then she pointed slowly at her own chest.

"...Am I dead?"

Little Cheesecake went suspiciously quiet, its little face crumpling with guilt.

"Well..."

Ira's eyes narrowed to slits. "That does not sound good."

"You died."

"WHAT?!"

"After you fell from the tree, your body couldn't hold on." Cheesecake hurried to add, wings fluttering anxiously, "But you're not completely dead! You're in a coma back there, I promise!"

"...And?"

"And the kitten you tried to save felt so guilty that you died saving her that she gave you a second chance at life!"

Ira blinked slowly. "So?"

"So congratulations!" Cheesecake's whole body lit up with enthusiasm. "You've been REBRON in this world!"

Ira looked around at the mud houses, the dirt road, the threadbare clothes, and said, with all the sarcasm she could summon, "Here? A place with poverty as the main theme?"

Cheesecake gave a sheepish little smile and said nothing.

"Take me back to my modern world right now!" Ira shrieked at the top of her lungs.

"To do that, you'll have to complete the mission here first - and for that, you need to sign in. Host, please sign in." A new screen popped up, displaying a single, glowing option: [Sign In].

Ira crossed her arms. "And if I refuse?"

Cheesecake's expression turned suddenly, unnervingly serious. "Then you'll die. Here."

Ira's throat went dry. "...And my body back in the modern world?"

"Will die too, eventually."

Her expression flattened. "So basically." She jabbed a finger at the little winged caterpillar. "If I want to keep living, I have to sign in."

Cheesecake's eyes sparkled. "Correct!"

Ira stared at the absurd little creature for a long moment, then exhaled a heavy sigh.

"Fine."

Cheesecake lit up instantly, spinning a delighted circle in the air.

"Welcome, Host!"

Little Cheesecake popped up in front of Ira again, flapping its tiny butterfly wings.

"Host, your target has been set."

Ira looked at it with suspicion. "My target?"

"Yes! Your task is to meet the General, the Chancellor, and the Scholar, make them fall in love with you, and marry them."

Ira's eyes went wide.

"What?"

She stared at the little creature.

"What the hell did you just say?"

Little Cheesecake blinked at her, all innocent.

Ira pointed a finger at it. "Hey, caterpillar, are you stupid? How can you give me a task to marry THREE men?"

She put her hands on her waist.

"Do you think I'm going to marry one, divorce him, marry the second, divorce him too, and then marry the third? Is that your genius plan?"

Little Cheesecake rubbed its little head, like it was hiding something.

"First of all, I am Little Cheesecake, not a caterpillar. And who said anything about divorce?"

Those words hit Ira like a bolt of lightning.

She froze. "...What did you just say?"

Little Cheesecake gave her an awkward smile.

"You heard right. You have to marry all three. At the same time."

Ira's mouth fell open. "All three?"

"Yes."

"Three men?"

"Yes."

"At the SAME time?"

Little Cheesecake nodded happily.

Ira stared at it like it had completely lost its mind.

"So you're telling me my job is to make three big shots - a General, a Chancellor, and a Scholar - fall for me, and then marry all three of them?"

"Exactly!"

Ira's face went blank.

Little Cheesecake smiled wide. "You'll have three husbands! Congratulations!"

"THREE HUSBANDS?!"

She looked around, hoping someone, anyone, could explain how any of this made sense.

"You're seriously telling me I have to marry three men?"

"Yes."

"This system is insane."

"But that's only half the task."

Ira stopped complaining instantly.

"...What?"

"There's another part."

Her eyes narrowed. "What is it now?"

She got suspicious fast. "Do I have to drag all three of them back to my world with me?"

Little Cheesecake rubbed its head again. "Oh... about that."

It looked away, avoiding her eyes.

"I will tell you later"

Ira's eyes nearly popped out. "WHAT?!"

"Hey! Come back here!"

But Little Cheesecake was already fading away.

"Wait! At least tell me what I'm supposed to do first!"

"Your first target is the Scholar," Cheesecake's voice called out from somewhere far away. "You'll meet him in a few moments!"

"Hey! Give me more details!"

But the little cheesecake had already vanished into thin air.

Ira stood there, hands on her hips.

"What a useless system."

Before she could complain any further, the world around her started moving again. Right on cue, the door of a nearby house flew open.

A young man was thrown out.

He hit the ground hard.

He looked around seventeen or eighteen. His clothes were old and torn to pieces, and his face was pale, like he hadn't eaten a proper meal in days. Standing in the doorway above him was a middle-aged woman - big, loud, and glaring at him like he owed her money.

"Get out of here, you jinx!" she screamed.

"First your mother died giving birth to you! Then your father wasted every coin he had on your studies and died too! Now this family doesn't even have money to feed you or that useless education of yours!"

The young man looked up at her, eyes full of tears.

"Aunt..."

"Don't call me Aunt!" the woman shouted.
