THE ALPHAS' OMEGA MATE

As Kayla brushed down her waist-long brunette hair, she looked deeply into the mirror, to the image staring right back at her; wearing a sad and weary face. Slowly, she lowered the brush, dropped it on the table right beneath the mirror, and looked back into the mirror, shuddering as tears gathered to the brink of her eyes.

It was her senior year's first day of school, and she was turning 18 in a month. As everyone had their melting point, Kayla's was quite unbearable for her to carry. Being a young wolf in a pack with the scariest Alpha, Kayla had to battle with her identity because her colleagues were finding their mates already and she haven't had her first turn yet.

She looked deeply into the mirror as a drop of tear fell from her left eye which she wiped off immediately she heard footsteps heading towards her room door

"My goodness Kayla, don't you have ears? I've been calling you" Emily McCall, Kayla's mum said as she swung her room door open to meet Kayla who wore deep blue baggy jeans which was held at the waist with a washed brown belt and a hand-knitted sleeveless sweater which was tucked in while her hair flowed down her little waist.

"I was to call you down for breakfast but what on earth are you wearing!" her mum half yelled as she closed the door behind her and walked to her closet, pulling out any possible cloth she could wear while groaning in frustration

"We need to go shopping this afternoon. I mean what the hell? For goodness sake Kayla, you're in your final year in high school, you need to stop dressing like that, especially now that Ava is mated to Jayden. You know well enough that we are no more in hiding which means you-"

'Ava, always Ava' Kayla said to herself, walking out of the room while her mum hipped a pile of cloth on her bed

"Where the hell are you going, I'm talking to you!" her mum yelled as she headed out with her backpack. Coming down the stairs, she met her dad having breakfast with Ava.

"Good morning dad" she greeted grumpily while heading toward the front door

"Good morning my girl." He said slowly as he tried to observe her movement but saw her turn the door knob and spoke up

"Where do you think you're going without eating?" he said while she groaned and turned to him

"I'm not hungry" she said rather conveniently

"No, I won't accept that, you should have something in your stomach at least

"Dad, I said I'm not hungry," she said with a bolder voice

"But-"

"Daddy, the human said she's not hungry. Maybe their stomach doesn't operate the way the stomach of wolves does. Take me for example, I have to eat for two and-"

"That's enough Ava!" he snapped "I'm not going to tolerate this unspeakable character from you, certainly not. If anyone outside should do that, it certainly shouldn't be you, you hear me?" he said as he turned to look back at Kayla but only heard her warming up her car engine and driving out

"That being said dad, I need to go shopping this afternoon"

"You went shopping yesterday and used up almost half of the money on my credit card

"That's why it's a credit card and in case you haven't noticed, newsflash dad I'm mated to Jayden, the alpha direct beta, and while you and mum were trying your absolute best to turn us into omegas' in a pack where you were once a warrior and mum was a gamma, I am bringing us right back to the spotlight so whether you like it or not, you will spend on me while you still can, because when I'm joined with Jayden, you and mum will earn off me" she said loudly and angrily as she hit her fork on the plate below her, standing up with rage

"Kayla! I found the perfect dress for your first day" Emily yelled coming down from the stairs to meet Ava and Max staring at each other like they would eat themselves alive

"Where the hell is Kayla?" she asked confused

Kayla turned off her ignition as she parked her car in the school parking lot, which swarmed up with wolves. It was an all-wolf school, the only one in the pack, and was almost like a human high school. They had the normal sections which included the school bitches in the cheerleading squad Ava was the queen bitch and captain of the cheerleading squad.

Kayla hit her head on the headrest of her car while she gazed at the school building; she was totally lost imagining what it would be like to finally have a wolf. For some reason, she didn't want to get off the car, the terror of her sister and her minions making fun of her, and her trying as much as possible to stay invincible hunted her. She has had to endure it for four years and with each year, it becomes unbearable.

A loud knock on her window jerks her out of her self-pity. She turns to see Reece and phoebe that waved at her to open the door. A slight smile crept on her face upon seeing them; they were the only ones that truly understood her and everything she was going through and also the only ones in the whole pack, asides from her family that knew she didn't have a wolf.

Slowly, she hopped down her jeep which was a bit high while adjusting her backpack. She rested against the door

"It's really nice to see you guys." She said while Reece and phoebe exchanged glances and stared back at her

"Really?" Reece said while phoebe dragged her in for a hug

"Don't mind her Reece, she has forgotten her manners" Phoebe said while Reece laughed and joined in the hug.

"Any news," Kayla asked as they stepped into the hallway. She turned to face Reece and phoebe who gave a worried look

"What? What is it?" she said stopping in her tracks while phoebe pulled her elbow

"The alpha is joining us for assembly today," he said slowly as she felt a million emotions going through her she felt her whole world crumble right in front of her.

The alpha, Alpha Damon; some call him Alpha demon. He's the devil himself. He murdered his parents when he was 13, took over the pack a month later, waged a war on two packs when he was 15 and slaughtered every living being without mercy. He's in his early 20s' yet even the oldest alpha in the world cannot contend against him and the mere thought that they have been able to survive in such a pack for so long is a miracle. Now he's coming to her school, he could smell weakness from a mile away and now, she would be caught.

"No, no. this can't be right this-"

"I'm really sorry about it I-"

"I have to get back to my car" she said as she shivered in fright "Mum should have warned me, dad should have" she said as she scrouched down on a locker with tears falling from her eyes while people looked at her disgustingly as they passed

"Kayla, he won't notice you. Not in this massive crowd, I mean this is the whole school we're talking about" Phoebe said while Reece nodded.

"No. I can't be here" she said crying more when shouts and screams were heard from outside as everyone rushed out to see him

"You can hide in one of the classrooms or toilets" Reece said

"Don't you get it?" she said sniffing vehemently "I cannot be anywhere around school right now" she said as she wiped off mucus from her nose while she cried

"Then this is your chance to leave" Reece said while phoebe turned to him

"Are you insane? The moment Kayla steps out of that door, he will catch her" phoebe said with a serious and concerned face

"Yeah, well it's like Kayla said right? With that much crowd, he wouldn't see her or get the chance to look for a scent"

"You don't know that. What if she bumps into him?

"The crowd is too much and, where is Kayla?" phoebe said as they sighted her down towards the school exit, heading out to a bunch of students.

The moment she stepped out of the school building, it was like a sword going right into the middle of her face. The pain was so unbearable that shouting wasn't an option. She winced so bad and tried to fight back the pain but she couldn't hold it off. Slowly, she felt her vision become blur as she fell to the ground below her.

"Shit shit shit shit shit" Reece kept on saying as they carried Kayla to the science laboratory. They cleaned out a table and kept her there; she was still unconscious but luckily, they caught in time before anyone noticed she fell and whisked her away from the paparazzi but she got hurt. Something stabbed her arm obviously as she fell.

"Could you stop with the shit and get me something to clean up her wound?" Phoebe said while Reece paced around with his bloody palms on his head

"This is my entire fault. I caused all of this" he said still pacing around

"Fucking stop blaming your fucked up self and get me something to clean her up before someone see us you punk!" she yelled at him while he nodded and hurried out of the lab to get anything he could possibly find

"Stay with me Kayla" Phoebe said as she used her shirt to apply pressure on the wound

Alpha Damon couldn't keep his mind off the ill-dressed girl that fainted right as he set his eyes on her. She looked like she was going through something excruciating and he couldn't help but care which was something utterly different. He doesn't care about anybody whatsoever and certainly doesn't trust anybody.

He wore a mask for a reason and that couldn't be compromised.

Stepping into the school auditorium with cheers and jubilation, he could sight Ava, the one mated to Jayden, his beta give him a warm smile. Staring back at her, he pressed his lip in a line not like she could see it even if he actually smiled because of his mask.

He sat behind the podium while the principal gave warming remarks about him but his attention was divided. He could perceive something strange, blood. The odor filled the environment but it seemed like he was the only one picking the scent.

"Excuse me" he said to the person standing beside him and slid off to go check where the scent was coming from.

"Here" Reece said to Phoebe who stared at an ash duct tape in his hands

"When I said you should get me something, I meant not a duct tape Reece!" she half yelled while holding unto kayas bleeding arm with her blood soaked shirt

"Look. It will only take minutes before someone figures this out and decide to come in here so take it or not, we need to stop the bleeding and get her walking because we need to get out of here as fast as possible. So take it or not, it's not like this school was designed to have an infirmary for wolves who could heal in a second" he said while she groaned and dragged out the tape from him.

Doing that, she took off her shirt and used the duct tape around her injury.

Damon kept tracing the smell of the blood till he stepped into the hallway for laboratories. The smell became bolder than it previously was and he got excited that he was closer to it or rather his wolf got excited and he couldn't really phantom why.

As he drew nearer to the science laboratory which seemed exactly where the blood scent was coming from, he began wondering why or how someone would be injured that badly. He saw her fall so why couldn't she heal.

He got to the science lab and had a peak through the window, seeing three people in the room with one lying almost lifeless on a cleared out table

'MATE' his wolf yeaned which sung in his head like a boomerang ...

"My alpha, you're being called upon to give your speech," Jayden said behind him which jerked him back to reality.

"Of course," he said with a firm voice and headed back, leaving Jayden confused.

He walked back to the auditorium and climbed on the podium while the students cheered and whistled

"Good morning crystal high," he said with a stern voice while everyone greeted him back

"As we all know, poaching is in a month's time and the joining season is close. My very own beta in fact has been mated to the captain of the cheerleading squad in fact " he said while everyone gave a loud cheer and clapped as Ava stood up and gave a bow

"Thank you, Ava. I hope to see more of your face in the pack house especially now that I am formally appointing you to be the head of the planning committee for the joining this year, seeing as you're already a leader, it would be a very easy task." He said while she screamed in excitement

"That being said, poaching is coming up and it is a very important time of the month for our wolves so we need everyone's participation to make it a successful one, thank you," he said as he stepped down from the stage while the audience went wild in praises.

"Alpha, there's a situation in the pack house" Jayden said drawing his attention completely off Kayla. He groaned in frustration as he turned to the principal

"Was attendance taken here?" he asked sternly while she nodded in fright "Good. I need the list of all the students in the school, all those who stepped into school premises today and all those who weren't in the hall today. Am I understood?" he asked while she nodded hurriedly as he turned to go

"Do you want me to take care of it Alpha?" Jayden asked while he turned to him

"It's is my business, I'll take care of it myself" he said as he adjusted his suit and turned to go

"The alpha is gone" Reece said as he stared right outside the window to see his convoy driving out

"Which means classes are about to start. Shit, we really can't be seen" phoebe said

"We can go to the rooftop?"

"And do what?"

"And wait for school to be over! Look at her, even if she wakes up, any wolf can smell her blood and right now, the school is swarming which includes all the entrances and exits." Phoebe said and let out a deep sigh before she continued "We have to get her out of here as soon as possible" she said while Reece was about talking but instead, Kayla spoke up

"She's right. I'm in no condition to be in class and I can't leave school either. I have to get to the rooftop before classes begin" she said softly as she tried getting up but groaned painfully. She felt like the weight of the world was on her head, coupled with a punctured arm but she held her arm, sitting up.

"How are we going to get you there? Reece asked

"You two go, I'll meet you there, I just have to really clean this place up" Phoebe said while Reece nodded as he hung Kayla's hands over his shoulders and headed out.

In no time, she cleaned up the lab and was about leaving when she saw Ava at the door, staring at her dreadfully

"What is it evil twin. You're here to gloat?" Phoebe said with hate

"OH, sweet Phoebe. You really need to learn to respect people, especially if the future of a successful joining for you and your mate depends on it" she said as he red bold lipstick smacked together

"What the hell do you want?" Phoebe asked while she stepped close to her, walking around her and sniffing her

She got to her face and got a strand of her hair and smelt it while phoebe held her breath

"You wash up so well but I see it all. I know something happened to Kayla, I know you, Reece and phoebe weren't at the gathering with the alpha and I know for sure that you're hiding something, no matter how well you clone it and I'm going to get you" she said as she headed for the door and banged it loudly while Phoebe sighed in relief.

Reece and phoebe stayed with Kayla till school was over and Kayla had to stay behind till it was dark so she could drive out unnoticed.

Staying on the rooftop, she noticed when everyone left, including the principal.

Slowly, she crept into the principal's office to check for any surveillance that may have captured her but instead, she found a list. A list of students who didn't attend the meeting and she not going to do anything nice with it, considering the fact that it was really incriminating to Reece, her and phoebe.

Slowly, she deleted the file and scrubbed the surveillance clean of all evidence.

When she was done, she crept out of school into the parking lot and as much as she wished for her car too be the only car left there, it wasn't. A really fancy SUV was sitting right in the middle of the parking lot.

Though she couldn't see anyone in there but she knew it was real trouble so she hid while hid.

Damon on the other hand had been distracted since he left crystal high earlier that morning. He kept on wondering what his wolf meant by mate and why will his mate be bleeding when she can heal, how bad was her injury.

He left the pack house and headed back to the high school that night, something had to be there.

By the time he got there, he could see just one car in the parking lot. A black high jeep and he almost scoffed out loud because he was amused.

With that, he stepped into the school building and headed to the principal's office, obviously to check out the data she had gathered. He couldn't possibly wait for the next day but on reaching there, he saw the same girl in from of the computer looking rather incriminating but instead of him calling her out and probably killing her on school grounds for breaking and entering, he was amused.

He kept watching her creepily until she was done so he decided to confront her

She ran off to the parking lot but on seeing his car, she hid. This was the only chance he got on confronting her so he blocked the exit and walked to her.

She bumped into him and the moment she laid her eyes on him, she screamed in agony like she was in a very serious pain and fainted right in his arms.

He couldn't quite understand what happened but he smelled her and she didn't have any scent whatsoever.

He gave a slight scoff

"Of all the punishments the goddess could give to me, why give me such a weak and powerless omega," he said slightly t himself as he knew what he had to do
