Chapter 1 FARNBOROUGH KINGDOM

Farnborough is a peaceful city, blessed by the moon goddess, it is a kingdom of seven wolf packs with King Kernin the All Alpha and sovereign ruler of Farnborough kingdom he also leads his pack in the kingdom, the crescent moon pack.

He is a just king who gives equal opportunities to everyone regardless of their race, size, affluence, or breed earning him the love and respect of all under him.

His greatest dream, however, is to unite the werewolf kingdom with his human empire as one and not just a confederacy of two different races. He hopes his sons will bring this dream to reality by ruling the kingdom together but that is a wish he knows will never come true.

Luke and Remus, two half-brothers and apparent heirs to the throne live their lives fighting each other tooth and nail to emerge the sole ruler.

Remus was born in the werewolf kingdom, the first child and crown prince of Farnborough by birth. He was born out of love from the king's marriage with his mother who died during birth.

Remus never got to meet his father after his birth as the king was exiled to war after the death of his mate, the All-Luna. Remus grew tall and strong waiting for his father who returned ten years after his birth with another baby.

Prince Remus was excited to see his father to show him how well he had grown, but his father brought a big shock to him.

"Hurry up Eric, we can't keep Father waiting." He said running down the hallway to his father's chambers.

"Wait up my prince, you will hurt yourself." Eric ran after him as well.

"Prince Remus is here." The butlers announced his presence.

"Remus come," his father called him into his personal bed chambers.

He was excited, this was the third night after his return. He was so excited he had a lot to tell him.

"Yes father," he bowed to him.

"Come closer." His father beckoned on him. "Look," the king pointed at the young boy of about three years old huddled on his bed. "His name is Luke, Remus and he is your brother."

"My brother?" Incredulous he looked at his father waiting for him to say he was joking, he sniffled in the air, and The half-breed reeked of his father, that alone annoyed him.

"He is a halfling, though his birth was a mistake, he is our family and we will treat him like one." Smiling he stared dotingly at the boy infuriating Remus who had only hoped his father would look at him like that.

"You mean your family." Getting out of his father's grasp he ran out of the room with tears in his eyes, how could his father betray him this way, he waited for him, believing he would be back for him, rather than be bought a halfling for him.

"Remus," King Kernin called watching him run out of his room.

Dejected, Princess Remus ran out of the hall, out into the garden under his tree where he sat crying.

"Prince Remus." His butler walked up behind him, slowly.

"Why Eric, I waited for him all these years, and he comes back with a halfling asking me to warm up to him." He was vexed.

"I am sure he means well." He had to be neutral.

"Mean well? How!! He roared, his eyes bright gold, scared Eric took a step back in fear.

"Your Highness you need to calm down." He was on the verge of transforming.

"Remus" Princess Isabelle called running down the garden slop towards them.

"Slow down Isabelle you will injure yourself." Remus calmed down visibly, she was running towards them and smiling. Eric had never been more grateful for her timely arrival, knowing Prince Remus's records, his life just flashed before his eyes.

Maintaining his distance he walked behind them, trying not to eavesdrop.

Princess Isabelle is Prince Remus' best friend, the one who can withstand his horrible moods. She is the dream of a lot of girls, and her beauty is second to none in the whole of Farnborough, rumor has it that she and Prince Remus are mates but there is no sign of their bond.

"What has got you in a bad mood today?" Princess Isabelle watched her best friend throw rocks in the village pond. He only does that whenever he is upset about something.

"It is nothing." he lied picking up another stone.

"Are you going to tell me or do I have to force it out of you?"

Taking a deep breath he patted the rock beside him, motioning for her to sit beside him.

"Father has returned."

"I know, weren't you always so eager for his return."

"He brought a halfling with him."

"Well, maybe he saw him at a battle you know hearted your father can he."

"Not that Isabelle, he said the halfling is my brother, he looked upon him like he was the greatest treasure in the world, he didn't even look at me like that!"

"Remus it is not."

"Prince Remus, it is time for your sword practice." Eric interrupted them. Taking a deep breath Remus got up stretching out his hand to help Isabelle up.

"I have to go Isabelle." sadly letting go of her arm he followed Eric back to the palace.

Isabelle watched her best friend walk away sadly, more than anyone she knew how much he lined up and waited for his father's return carefully planning the day-to-day details, training day and night. Sometimes he would keep her up late at night practicing his speech with his father when he finally arrived.

Taking a deep breath she dusted her gown, walking towards the village alone. Her favorite pastime whenever Remus is busy is to mingle with the villagers.

Waving at some of the kids as she passed by she smiled happily heading towards the hut of Nana, the voyage's oldest healer.

"Nana." She called as she got in.

"My dear, come here." Nana sat in front of her small

But, she was busy arranging some herbs.

"Nana, let me help you with that."

"What's bothering you, my dear, you look pale."

"It is Luke's nana, his father brought him a halfling brother? She explained to her.

"A halfling? In our city? He won't survive long." She said flippantly.

"What do you mean?" She was intrigued.

"No halfling has ever survived the past five years in our kingdom, my dear, no one has." She told her.

Chapter 2 AN ANNOYING BROTHER

Five years later,

King Kernin was running the kingdoms well but his relationship with Remus plummeted greatly especially since he would always take Luke's side because of his frail heart.

There was a rumor, that he won't make it past his first ten years in the morning.

Everyone in the village knew how mischievous Luke was except the king, he would follow Remus and Isabelle all around the village picking fights with them and running back to his father anytime Remus lashed out at him. The king in ignorance would always take the young prince's side.

One particular evening,

Luke was following Isabelle and Remus who were trying to climb the tallest tree in the village for the perfect view of the entire kingdom. Unknown to them, Luke followed them secretly also attempting to climb the tree breaking his leg in the process.

Remus and Isabelle were climbing down from the tree when they saw Luke sitting on the ground leaning against a tree with his legs spread out before him. Worried Isabelle ran towards him.

"Hey there, what's wrong with you?" she asked standing beside him but he kept on sobbing looking at Remus who had his back turned to him, crying louder he kept looking at Remus who annoyed came to stand in front of him.

"You tried to climb the tree, didn't you? You fool! I have you stop following me around." cradling his little brother's frail body in his arms he walked back to the palace.

It was hard to believe the young boy was eight years old, his constant illness had made him ill and if not for his timely transition, he might have died from the harsh weather of Farnborough.

As they walked true the village, everyone turned their attention to them most especially Remus who at the age of fifteen was bigger than most of his peers, a well-built teenager with mysterious golden eyes that sparkled with wisdom and kindness, captivating all those who were fortunate to gaze into them which was, of course, everyone in the town, his long flowing hair cascading down his back like a shimmering waterfall. At the young age of fifteen, his presence commanded attention, from all around him, he had the air of his father and the beauty of his mother.

Girls swooned as he passed by, watching his bulging muscles as he lifted like effortlessly in his arms.

News travels fast in the village, the king cut short his council meeting by coming to meet them at the gate worried about his little prince.

"How did that happen, Remus!" He asked angrily taking Luke from his arms.

"He followed Remus and I, but he fell from."

"How could you let that happen to your brother Remus, I know you don't like him but you know how frail his health is." The king cut Isabelle short staring at Remus who was almost as tall as he was.

"But I didn't do anything, father he followed me and fell on his own, I wasn't even aware of his.."

"I do not care, Remus, if you paid more attention to him and not ignored him, this accident would have happened." he interrupted him.

"I do not care father, he has the entire palace staff at his fingertips let him play with someone else! He is just an annoying little twit!" He said frustrated, every time his annoying baby brother does something, he gets the blame for it, even when he had no hand in the whole matter.

"You will be punished for this Remus!" Glaring at him one last time, the king turned around walking into the palace with his whole entourage.

Angry, Remus turned around walked towards the village, and headed to Nana, in the entire village she was the only one who made him feel his age.

Ever since his first transition when he was younger and almost ended his royal guards, everyone feared him. Thinking it was just the first time spurt, he was encouraged to try again but after the third attempt, he was banned from ever transforming again because he had no control over his wolf.

Rumor has it that he is the reincarnation of one of their ancestors Jaime, a valiant werewolf who instilled fear in all their enemies. Luke was stronger than five werewolves combined, and from a young age he exhibited great strength that everyone around was scared of him, he was taller and bigger than his actual mates, towering over some of the hunters and his growth rate was so fast that he looked more many that a thirty-five-year-old man at just the age of sixteen.

Entering the gate of Nana, he left his titles and power behind, in here he was just a little boy who loved to chase the wind and climb trees, a regular fifteen-year-old.

"Nana," he called smiling at her.

"Oh my boy," opening her arms for a hug she smiled at him happily. It was hard to say this woman was the eldest in the village, even at the age of one hundred and twenty, she was s'more energetic than young wr ones. She looked frail and old but then her strength rival led that of even the king she was not someone to be trifled with.

Joining on the bench, he and Nana made fun of her as she poked herself at various places trying to learn embroidery. To him, this was his happy place where he didn't have to walk on eggshells.

It was almost nightfall and time for Isabelle to leave, Remus stayed back trying to help Nana fix things within the house. He was working on one of her chairs when he heard her door open,

"Who is it? Nana is not home.." He stopped talking when he saw her drag her tired body into the house before collapsing on the closest chair.

"Nana," he called with concern taking her bag from her. "I have told you to let the others handle healing you are not as strong as you used to be." He nagged getting her a glass of water.

Chapter 3 AM ANNOYING BROTHER II

Laughing she took the glass from him, "Remus my dear, I can still do what I was destined to do even with my last breath besides it was the king how can I refuse." She returned the glass to him.

"Ohh," his face fell.

"I know what happened today, and you don't have to feel bad my boy, you did well bringing him back to the palace for treatment." She said reassuringly.

"Father doesn't think so, he blames me for all the bad thing that happens to the weakling." He said sadly looking down.

Taking a deep breath she placed a hand on his shoulder smiling.

"You are a good boy, Remus, it is not your fault the boy is a weakling, his human body can't handle our storms, his wolf is too weak but it protects him besides most of his sickness is caused by natural disasters."

"I wish Father could say that to me Nana, but he is too busy doting on Luke or attending to town matters, it is like I don't exist with him." Fighting back the frustrated tears he looked down at his hands, more than anyone Nana knew how much pain he was in.

"You can stay here if you want." She smiled trying to change the subject, anytime he had a fallout with the king, it was best he stayed out of the palace as the king would go to all lengths to punish him.

"Really Nana?" His face brightened up looking at her.

"Yes my boy," she smiled happily.

"Father would be angry nana, I better just go back and help my brother in any way I can." He said sadly before taking her bag into her room.

More than anyone she knew how much he cared about like, anytime the boy had a crisis he would run down to call her even before the king's messenger got to him, or even bring him to her when she got injured, it was a pity the king couldn't see his struggle, seeing him off to the door, she watched him hesitate at her gate, he always did that as if he never wants to leave but duty calls.

She knew he would make a great Alpha one day.

It has been three months since Luke's accident, Remus' punishment was to help his brother until full recovery making him down his entire day with him alongside Isabelle.

Remus knew Luke was fine already and was just pretending so he could stay with him longer, playing along he pretended not to notice, hoping to find something lovable about his annoying little brother that everyone hated.

But who was he kidding, at Luke's young age, his special talent was inciting people to hate him.

Day after day, Kernin watched his sons grow apart rather than together, despite his efforts to bring them together there was no peace between them. He was in his chambers watching the sunset lost in his thoughts when one of his underlings came to call him.

"Your Highness, the princes are at it again," the ordering reported worried.

Knowing exactly what the young man was talking about he followed him hurriedly into the throne room where both sons had shifted into their werewolf form, snarling at each other. Remus's slender form was at a great disadvantage against Luke's rather huge form overshadowing him.

Luke was yet to be fully healed, worried the boy might get more injured he tried to intervene but Remus was dominating, he couldn't shift as he made the rule of no shifting in the hall except on special occasions.

The ancient stone walls of the grand throne room gleamed in the bright sunlight that streamed through the opened windows. The air was thick with tension as the werewolves faced off in the center of the room, their feral eyes locked in a deadly stare.

Remus, The larger of the two beasts let out a primal growl, his claws flexing and scraping against the polished marble floor. The other werewolf crouched low, his muscles tense and ready to strike. With a thunderous roar, they lunged at each other, their bodies colliding with a force that shook the very foundations of the castle.

Claws clashed and fur flew as the werewolves snarled and snapped in a frenzied battle for dominance. The sound of their savage combat echoed off the walls, drowning out the distant cries of the frightened onlookers who had gathered to witness the brutal spectacle.

Blood dripped from wounds that opened and closed with each vicious swipe of claws and teeth. The smell of iron mingled with the musty scent of the ancient stones as the werewolves tore into each other with a ferocity that bordered on madness.

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows across the room, one of the werewolves delivered a final, crushing blow that sent his opponent crashing to the ground in a heap of fur and blood. With a triumphant howl, he stood over his fallen foe, the victor in this brutal battle of werewolves. Stalking the wounded body of his brother, Luke wanted to end his torment but the loud voice of his father stopped him.

"REMUS!" the king shouted not knowing what else to do.

Kernel had never seen Luke this angry, he was still learning to control his wolf, he had only been able to hold it back for five minutes before going berserk, which had been difficult anytime he shifted, scared he might lose it, King kerning maintained eye contact trying to control him, pray it was still his son and not the wolf.

"Grrrrr" Remus howled in pain, as Luke sank his fangs into his hind legs, taking advantage of his distraction, With one swift turn he smashed Luke's head with his huge paws sending him crashing into one of the pillars.

"No!" the king ran to the limp body of Luke cradling it in his arms not glancing at Remus who was also injured.

Bitter, Remus watched his father cradle his brother angry, in his transformed taste, all his emotions were heightened, which was especially worse with his wolf trying bro take control, he was fighting it when he met with his father, but his father didn't look at him with worry like he did Luke rather he looked at him with that same look he grew accustomed to for the past five years.
