Chapter 1 Episode 1

CHAPTER :

"it's over, Khiara." A deep voice sounded out and Khiara shook her head vigorously.

"No, baby. We can't end what we have. I love you and cannot let you go." Khiara replied frantically. She then stepped forward to touch the owner of the voice but she was pushed backward.

"Get away from me. You will never be enough for me. You're so annoying." The deep voice was heard again.

"No, you can't leave me." Khiara said again and stepped forward to touch the man before her but she only caught the air.

"What! You can't leave. You belong to me!" She yelled out loud and then started to run but she found herself landing on the hard floor with a loud thud.

"Ouch..." Khiara cried out, pain coursing through her whole body. Her phone dinged in the distance.

She opened her eyes slowly to see that she was in her bedroom. It was dimly lit and she could only make out vague outlines of things.

"Not again..." Khiara whimpered, tears leaking out of her eyes. She had just ended her relationship and she couldn't stop having nightmares about it.

The words that she would never be enough rang continuously in her head. However, she successfully blocked out those words. Her nightmares were so frequent that she had started to think that she was never going to be enough for anyone.

At this point, she just wanted to be alone.

Holding her banging head, Khiara supported herself to sit on the bed.

She then heard her phone ding again and she wondered what the hell was happening. The sounds from her phone indicated that she had messages.

She grabbed her phone with a loud groan and unlocked it.

Scrolling through her messages, her eyes went wide when she saw the messages.

"Happy Birthday, Khiara..." A message stated and she realized that it was her twentieth birthday!

"Oh no..." Khiara cried again. She wasn't in the mood for a big birthday. She knew she would have to entertain the guests and she was ready for that.

A knock sounded on the door and Khiara's head whipped in the direction of the door.

She wasn't in the mood to meet anyone but she knew she couldn't just decide to stay in bed. She stood up to her feet and then started to walk toward the door.

With the aid of the dim light from her phone, she was able to navigate her way forward. But before she opened the door, she was quick to wipe her tears.

As soon as she opened the door, she heard a loud cheer.

"Happy birthday..." Her family cheered.

The light from the hallway streamed into Khiara's eyes and she groaned. She could see her parents and sister, with smiles on their faces and also with three boxes in hand.

"Thank you..." Khiara said, with a meek smile on her face. Her heart felt warm at their loving gesture. But still, she didn't feel like entertaining anyone.

"You should get dressed, Khiara. We have a big surprise for you. The birthday party will start in an hour." Khiara's mother said to her, stepping forward to place a kiss on the celebrant's cheek.

"Happy birthday, Khiara." Her sister, Anna, stepped forward and handed a small box to Khiara. She then received presents from her parents.

With a big smile on her face, Khiara said, "I'll be down soon, mum."

An hour later, Khiara was standing before her wide mirror.

"Do you think it's beautiful?" Khiara asked with a forced smile on her face. She was referring to the light pink dress she had on.

"Of course, it is. Are you ready? Mum and dad are waiting." Anna said and then took Khiara by the hand.

"Let's go." Khiara said and then took a deep breath.

They walked out of the bedroom, and through the hallways. They could hear the sounds of music coming from the common hall.

"Are you excited about today?" Anna asked in an irritatingly loud voice. She wiggled her brows suggestively.

"Of course, I'm excited." Khiara lied but then she noticed Anna's gestures and she knew something was up. She decided to find out later.

As soon as they got to the top of the stairs.

The anchor of the event, introduced, "Welcome, Miss Khiara."

The guests burst into a round of applause as Khiara descended the stairs. Anna walked two steps behind her.

She then looked back at her parents.

"Happy birthday once again." Her parents wished.

"Thank you, mum, and dad." Khiara said, the forced smile on her face still on.

"We would like you to meet someone." Her mum stated and Khiara nodded. She decided to go with the flow so she would be done with everything.

Her father then led her to the handsome man she had seen earlier.

"Princess, this is Alpha Asher." He introduced and Khiara raised her brows in wonder.

"Alpha Asher, this is my daughter, Khiara, your wife-to-be. Isn't she so beautiful?" He then introduced Khiara to Alpha Asher.

"Glad to meet you, beautiful." Asher greeted and stretched his hand toward Khiara.

On the other hand, Khiara was frozen in shock. What did she just hear?

"Wife-to-be? I'm not getting married, father." She said after she recovered from her frozen state but her father was nowhere to be found.

"Do you want to have a walk with me?" Asher asked but Khiara gave him a stink eye. She walked past him and then sat at the makeshift bar and ordered a glass of whiskey.

Her mind was reeling on what was happening. She had just gotten out of a relationship, drastically. She was still healing and then she was being made to get married.

With a loud sigh, she downed the drink in her hand.

Two hours later, the party was coming to an end, and Khiara was incredibly drunk.

She stood up to her feet, staggering. Her eyes were hazy as she walked up the stairs. She got confused by the number of doors she was seeing and ended up in a guest bedroom.

Opening her hazy eyes, she fell into Asher's arms. A need to be loved, overwhelmed her and she placed a kiss on his lips.

In a few minutes, their clothes were off and their bodies intertwined under the sheets.

Chapter 2 Episode 2

Episode 2:

The sun's rays streamed across the window into the room.

The sunlight shone on Khiara's face and she groaned.

As she opened her eyes, a splitting headache overwhelmed her and groanings became louder. Everything felt strange and her body felt extremely sore.

She started to feel sticky, her hands clenched the sheets over her. Straightening up from the bed, her eyes went wide when she noticed she was in an unfamiliar room.

She let go of the sheets and frantically looked around to know where she was.

"Ahhhh..." She let out a scream as her eyes met Asher's.

"You're too loud." Asher said while covering his ears.

"What are you doing here?" Khiara clapped back. But then Asher didn't reply to her. His eyes were trailed on her exposed boobs while he licked his lips seductively.

Khiara followed his gaze and saw that she was naked under his gaze. As she took in the state of the bed, she realized what had gone down there.

"What did you do to me?" Khiara asked as she scrambled to cover herself with the sheets.

"We had sex." Asher answered simply with his right brow, arched. A frown was starting to mar his face as he took in Khiara's expression.

Khiara's head started to ring at his words. Her eyes filled with tears, "How could you do this to me? I was drunk!" She yelled in great distress.

On the other hand, Asher was speechless. How could he control himself when a lady he admired threw herself at him?

"I guess I was out of my mind..." Asher began, trying to explain himself. But he was interjected by Khiara.

"You were not drunk. So do not bring up the excuse that you were out of your mind. You're an Alpha." She didn't want to listen to his explanation.

She then bundled the sheets over her body and stood up from the bed, "I'm done here." She declared as she walked past Asher, heading toward the door.

She felt shame wash over her. How could she have thrown herself at a man she didn't even know? These were the thoughts that whirled in Khiara's head.

"Khiara, wait up." Asher called out and then grabbed her by the hand before she could open the door.

"Let's get married, I'll take responsibility for everything." He said, his eyes showing his sincerity.

Khiara snorted and then jerked her hand away from his hold. His touch burned her and she declared, "I'll never get married to you. I'm not a liability you have to take responsibility for."

"No, you will never be a liability to me. I admire you and you will be my wife." Asher declared with a straight face. He tried to guard the door but she was one step ahead of him.

"I'll rather die than get married to you, Asher." Khiara declared, her words setting him off guard.

Saying that she opened the door and walked out of the bedroom.

But a few steps from the bedroom, Khiara came face to face with Anna.

"What were you doing there?" Anna asked with a straight face. But her judging eyes betrayed her facial expression.

Khiara looked down at herself. She was only dressed in bed sheets. Who wouldn't be able to guess what had happened?

"You slept with Alpha Asher?" Anna asked, as she stepped closer to Khiara. Her eyes roamed all over and landed on Asher who was standing by the door. From his expression, he had no regrets about what had happened.

However, Khiara had enough of Anna's questions. She held tightly onto the sheets and then began to sprint toward her bedroom. She could hear Anna snort in the distance.

****

Khiara stood before her parents, her head was bent low as she couldn't meet her parent's eyes. Anna was standing two steps away from her.

"You will get married to Alpha Asher in a week." Her father declared and she looked up at him.

"You can't do that to me, father. I'd rather die than get married to him." She yelled.

"Stop yelling, Khiara. If you didn't want to get married to him, you wouldn't have slept with him." Her mother scolded.

"I was drunk, mother. I didn't know what I was doing. Asher is the one to blame her and it was a mistake on my part." Khiara defended herself, her knees buckled and she fell to the ground.

"When you get married to him, it will not be a mistake." Her mother declared and then walked out. Anna was quick to follow after she threw a disgusting glare at Khiara.

Khiara watched as the mother and daughter walked away. Her eyes were on Anna who had spilled the beans to their parents. She felt powerless and helpless. Her father wasn't even helping.

"Dad, please help me. I don't want to get married to him." Khiara turned to her father and held onto his hand. She looked up at him with teary eyes and she hoped he would change his mind.

"You have been chosen, Khiara and I can't change that. You're the first daughter and you have to uphold the face of the family." Her father said and jerked his hand away from her hold. He walked away and left Khiara curled up into a ball.

Back to Anna, "Mum, why was Khiara chosen as the bride?" She asked as she walked side by side with her mother.

They were headed toward her mother's bedroom and Anna decided she would let her mother know what she wanted.

Khiara was her mother's stepdaughter here and she should be the one to enjoy privileges from her mother.

"She is the first daughter of your father, so she was chosen." Her mother stated.

"I want Alpha Asher, mother. Make him mine." Anna declared.

"I'm better suited to be his wife, not stupid Khiara. Make it happen, please." Anna continued to plead.

"You want that?" Her mother asked with a smile on her face. She halted her steps and then turned to look at Khiara.

Anna nodded her head vigorously.

"You will have him." Her mother declared.

Chapter 3 Episode 3

Episode 3:

The sun was setting and Khiara could be seen standing in the middle of the garden. Her face looked serene but then she had a lot going on inside her.

"Ahh...this is hard." She said to herself as she tried to cut out an overgrown twig. She was always in the garden in the evenings to trim the flowers.

It was her favorite spot to be. With rows of beautiful roses, lilies, and different other flowers, she found her peace.

She wore a loose shirt and pants, so it was easy for her to move around the garden. Her movement was fluid showing how skilled she was in trimming and shearing the flowers.

"Hey." Khiara's head whipped to the side when she heard that word. She was startled because her full attention was on the flowers.

"Hey, Anna." Khiara greeted with a slight smile on her face.

"I see you are spending enough time here just days to your marriage to Asher." Anna started and Khiara turned to look at her with a stink eye.

"Tell me, how is he in bed? Do you ever think you want more?" Anna asked, her eyes sparkling in curiosity.

"What do you mean if he's good in bed? That's none of your business." Khiara clapped back with a frown on her face. Though Asher was good in bed, she wouldn't admit that.

"Do you want to have a taste of him in bed?" Khiara asked curiously, her eyes growing wide. Also, she could only remember vague thrustings and meanings, however she knew how tingly and needy she felt down there the next day.

"It's no big deal." Anna snorted after a while. "Well, I look forward to your marriage to him." She continued while looking at Khiara from the corner of her eyes.

It had been days and Khiara had not spoken about her impending marriage. She needed to find out what Khiara was thinking.

"I never said I'll go on with the marriage. I will not get married any time soon." Khiara said immediately with a frown on her.

That was exactly what Anna wanted, "True, you don't have to get married. They shouldn't force you." Anna declared and then looked around for a few seconds.

She then stepped closer to Khiara and whispered, "Would you like to cancel the wedding? The power is in your hands now." Her voice sounded like the devil's whispering. It was tempting.

And Khiara couldn't resist that temptation. She nodded her head and asked, "How?"

Anna moved impossibly closer to her again but Khiara decided she could take the discomfort. She heard Anna say, "Elope, a day before the wedding. No one will be able to find you, I'll help you."

"Is that going to work?" Khiara asked as a frown started to mar her face.

"Of course, it will. You can think it through." Anna replied with a smirk on her face. She had already planted the words, she just needed to water it.

"You should go see dad in his study, he needs to talk to you about the marriage." Anna said, even though her dad never said anything like that. She just wanted her words to be rooted in Khiara's mind when she gets rejected again.

Khiara nodded her head and took the gardening tools she was holding with her. She was quick to put them in their place before she walked into the mansion.

She never noticed that Anna was a few steps behind her.

With a series of calculated steps, she was before the door to her father's study. She placed a knock on the door and a few seconds later she heard a grunt of approval.

Taking a deep breath, she opened the door and walked to stand before her father who was sitting behind his study table.

"Father, I would love to cancel the marriage." Khiara declared, thinking that her father really wanted to discuss the marriage.

Khiara's father sighed and then dropped his ball pen. "You can't do that, Khiara." His voice was stern, making her confused.

"But father, I have a will of my own. You shouldn't force me to do something I don't want to do." Khiara yelled.

"Stop yelling!" Her father said, banging the table and Khiara jumped back in fear. Her father's eyes were red and his face twitched in anger.

She had never seen her father so angry!

"You have been chosen and it is sealed. Get married or face the consequences." Her father declared with a stern face.

The realization started to dawn on Khiara that she had no way out of the impending marriage.

"How could I get married to someone who took advantage of me in my most vulnerable state?" She asked in a low voice, her head bowed.

"You both are getting married soon. Sex is going to be a normal occurrence. Get used to it." He answered simply and then took up his ball pen and went back to work.

Khiara took it as her cue to leave. She turned to walk out but then Anna's suggestion about eloping was rooted in her mind.

"I just need a good plan." She thought as she walked out of the study. She didn't notice Anna who was standing in the distance.

On the other hand, Anna had a slight smirk on her face. She had heard what went down in the study and liked the way Khiara was rejected but it only meant something to her.

As her father said, the deal was sealed and it only meant that Asher wants Khiara and no one else.

"No, he wouldn't have such admiration for that tiny fool." Anna said to herself. She was starting to get nervous. Though her mother had promised she would get Asher, she needed to get things done herself.

"I need to get Khiara out of the way. Asher would then come to me." Anna thought to herself, her fingers tapping her chin in practiced rhythm.

"I need to kill her." Anna declared her sparking in malice.
