Adrienne's parents and ancestors has been their enemies for years. Love conquers all...but how?

Chapter 1 ONE

The entire home was illuminated by bright lights, which gave the impression that it was grand from the outside. Observing Natalya Cadwell's home, Adrienne couldn't help but wonder why her boss wanted to trick the woman into believing he was not available for a relationship or even marriage.

"It's fantastic!" She exclaimed and he just nodded his head in agreement.

"Her family is wealthy," he explained.

Although the house was built in a modern style, wooden accents could be observed here and there throughout the inside. The tall, half-rounded windows in Natalya's house contributed to the overall design of the house. "She's extremely well-off," she revealed.

"Her family is wealthier than mine," he said, feeling empathy for the woman, who he assumed had not seen many gorgeous homes in her life.

Adrienne pouted her lips and responded, "I see."

"Would you like to live in a house like this?"

"Of course, sir!" She responded without hesitation. Her apartment, which she shared with Eury, required renovations, and her earnings would not be sufficient to cover the entire bill. She didn't have enough money to cover the cost of the roofing alone, and she didn't have that kind of money yet. In fact, she envied the likes of Pedro Lassiter! If only her father didn't abandon her, then maybe, there would be a chance for her to enjoy life.

Pedro admired the woman's candour for once in his life. Then he reminded her once more, "I hope you won't forget what you're supposed to do later."

"I already agreed to it, sir," she answered but the way looked at her made her uncomfortable. Her heartbeat was so loud, she had to shake her head to clear her mind. Adrienne wasn't taken aback when they were greeted by a butler. Wealthy folks could afford a great deal of assistance at a reasonable cost. "She must be pretty," she murmured in a barely audible voice.

"She's beautiful, intelligent, and wealthy."

Adrienne was deafeningly silent over Pedro's description of Natalya Cadwell. "Does she have any ebbs and flows to her appearance or her character?"

"She's perfect," he responded.

"Then why in the world aren't you interested in getting involved with her?"

Pedro locked his gaze on the red-haired woman, and for the first time, he took his time to examine her features, and he was completely intrigued by her. "Let's just say that I'm not quite ready to commit at this time," he replied.

"How about a mistress?"

"Are you proposing that I should make you my mistress?"

Adrienne nodded her head.

Then he burst out laughing at the absurdity of the situation. "I've already mentioned that I don't want any second-hand items," he continued.

"Ah, Pedro Lassiter, the all-powerful Pedro Lassiter. However, as I previously stated, I am quite particular about who I choose to share my bed with. You know, I despise being disappointed, and I will be quite unhappy if I discover that he is not a good lover."

Pedro coughed to get rid of the lumps that had formed in his throat. Every time she spoke about the bed, his mind immediately went to Adrienne underneath him, and he had to shake his head to get the image out of it. When he caught a whiff of Natalya's favourite perfume, he warned her, "She's coming, so please be respectful."

Her brows knitted together in bemusement but Pedro just shrugged off his shoulders as she looked at him in the eyes. It was only seconds later that a woman in a flowing black dress burst through the large panelled entrance and into the room. Adrienne was transfixed by the beauty in front of her.

When Natalya strutted her legs towards them, Adrienne couldn't help but wonder where the woman had gotten the strength to go braless. Her spaghetti-strapped dress had high slits on the sides, which meant that every time she made a step, a large piece of her flesh was revealed on the outside.

The fact that Pedro's lips were carelessly sucked and bitten in front of Adrienne surprised her. She had anticipated Natalya to merely kiss him on the cheek, and her eyes widen in surprise as Pedro's lips were casually sucked and bitten. After a while, it became too much for her to bear, and she turned away from the situation. Pedro, on the other hand, yelled her name, and she had no choice but to react to him in kind.

Adrienne was a little taken aback by the way Natalya gazed at her from head to toe, but she didn't let it get the better of her. When Pedro reached out to take her hand, she smiled at the other woman.

"Can you tell me who she is?" Natalya was the one who inquired.

"This is my girlfriend, Natalya. I'm delighted to introduce her to you; do you think she'll make a good wife?"

Adrienne observed Natalya taking a step backwards. Despite the fact that she was hurting on the inside, Pedro wouldn't stop torturing the other woman, who was clearly head over heels in love with him. What a hulking behemoth! She had an overwhelming need to soothe the other woman, but she was also dealing with a personal crisis of her own. At the very least, she could have cautioned Pedro to stop because it was both callous and unmanly!

"You must be wonderful for Pedro to consider marrying you in the future," Natalya said.

"I don't think so," Adrienne responded hesitantly, remembering that Pedro had advised her not to express herself in front of Natalya Cadwell. She realized what was going on. The other woman most likely has the ability to read another's mind, or she would make every effort to learn about her innermost thoughts and secrets.

"Can you tell me your name again?"

"Adrienne Mcbride."

"It's been a pleasure getting to know you, Adrienne. So, what makes you busy?"

It's the most horrible thing she could have imagined hearing, but Pedro had already given her advice on how to respond to the questions. "I work for Mr Lassiter," she confessed and then the woman burst into laughter.

"You had an affair with your staff?" Natalya asked Pedro.

Chapter 2 TWO

Working with Pedro Lassiter had its advantage and disadvantage as well. The man himself was envied by his peers because of his super qualities and extremely good looks, and she was only human! She was not a robot without any feelings at all, although, she mastered hiding her true emotions whenever they were together. However, as they spent a lot of time together, she was bound to develop some unwanted feelings for someone like Pedro Lassiter. Actually, the man was supposedly off-limits because of their differences in the financial aspect, but her heart has a mind on its own.

"Do you have any free time after work?" Pedro inquired with his secretary after he had signed the contract. Last night's meeting with Natalya has been a success, thanks to his wonderful assistant.

Due to the fact that she was recognizing Pedro's outstanding qualities as a guy when she returned to work, Adrienne regretted her decision yesterday. She tried her best to keep her feelings for Pedro Lassiter under control, but it was tough. Day after day, she learned that Pedro Lassiter was one-of-a-kind, and he possessed many admirable characteristics!

"Why?" She dreaded the moment when Pedro would come up to her and ask her that question.

"My mother had requested that you have dinner at home," he explained.

It was impossible for her to say no when Pedro mentioned his mother. Her mother, Mrs Lassiter, was always friendly to her, so she agreed and said, "Okay."

An hour later, they were already in the parking lot of the building owned by Pedro's family. As his assistant, it was her responsibility to drive his automobile. However, he stopped her from doing it this time.

"I'll drive," he declared.

When he said those words, Adrienne's mind wandered to something else. How could his voice sound so seductive and manly at the same time? She reiterated to him that it was part of her job, but Pedro insisted on doing it. Even though she disagreed with him, Pedro was adamant about driving. Adrienne screamed in despair when he turned on the engine and started driving! He went at breakneck speed, and he laughed like a maniac while behind the wheel.

"Will you please slow down a little? Do you have a death wish, Mr Lassiter?"

"Shhhh," he said, and continued driving. Well, he missed driving at full speed but he was banned from doing so. His family was worried about his safety. After all, he was the Alpha of the Vagabond Warriors Pack. Regardless if they were active or not, their clan should continue to survive normally amongst normal humans.

A few minutes later, they arrived at their destination, and despite being nervous, Adrienne composed herself well. Pedro's family were all nice to her, and they greeted her with a smile. However, there was one person whom she didn't recognize at the moment. He didn't look familiar to her but she was positive that he was related to Pedro.

"That's my cousin, Keith," Pedro whispered, but when he glanced back at his cousin, he noticed that Keith's eyes were focused on Adrienne. He narrowed his eyes at Keith but the darn guy just stared at his assistant. "Keith? Is this your first time to meet my assistant?"

"Yes, and she's my type," Keith answered boldly.

Pedro growled at Keith but his mother was quick to stop an unnecessary fight between them. Then, he glanced at Adrienne and noticed that the woman seemed uncomfortable in her seat. Did he say something wrong? No, it's probably not his fault, and Keith should be blamed for making her uncomfortable.

"Are you alright?" Pedro whispered into her since they were seating next to each other.

"I'm nervous. What's wrong with your cousin? He looked like he wanted to devour me right on this table," she replied, and the man suddenly burst into laughter.

"Just try to ignore him," he warned Adrienne because he was aware of his cousin's flirting capabilities.

Ignore him? How could she ignore such a virile man across from her? When she looked across the table, she noticed that Keith was still looking at her, which made her feel uneasy and uncomfortable. Fortunately, Pedro's mother asked her something about his son. The woman was the one who gave her the job after they met unexpectedly in a critical situation. Her loyalty belonged to Pedro's mother, but as a human being with conscience and dignity, she did her best to become the best assistant for Pedro Lassiter.

After dinner, she was meant to leave immediately, but Keith insisted that they spend the rest of the evening drinking coffee at the pavilion. The pavilion was located in their garden, and it was furnished with comfy chairs and a coffee table for their guests to enjoy. She came to the conclusion that the family must have utilized the pavilion on a regular basis, but when she glanced at her boss for approval, Pedro Lassiter shook his head to refuse.

"I'm sorry but I should go home," she kindly refused Keith's invitation to stay for coffee.

"Come on, Adrienne! It's just coffee," Keith said.

"Hmmm, I don't think so, Mr Keith Lassiter. Since dinner, I noticed the way you stared at me. Come on, be honest with me," she copied his tone earlier.

"Whoa, this is unexpected, but since you wanted me to be honest, here it is. I like you, Adrienne, and I think it's love at first sight," he admitted.

"Really? Wow! This is unexpected as well, but why do you like me?"

"Because you look gorgeous and ripe for the picking."

"W-what? Ripe for the picking? I'm not a fruit, sir."

"I was kidding, sorry," he said calmly.

Adrienne was intrigued by Andrew's interest but she didn't believe any of his words. He's a playboy for sure, and he was used to sweet talk a woman to have sex with him. "I'm glad that you were kidding, sir, but I'm not. If you are doing this to fuck me, then I'm sorry to say this but I'm not interested."

"But why? Don't you find me attractive?"

"Of course, you are attractive! However, I don't feel like doing it with you," she admitted the truth. When it comes to her future experience with a man, she wanted nothing else but Pedro Lassiter. Oh damn!

"I understand, Miss Mcbride, but still, please stay for coffee. This won't take long," he said. "Did I forget to tell you that you look cute in that outfit?"

For a moment, Adrienne narrowed her eyes at Keith for subtly flirting with her. "These are my work clothes, sir," she answered.

"Regardless. You look damn gorgeous in that dress!"

Adrienne implored Andrew to stop flirting with her because she was already feeling uncomfortable. "Stop it, please," Adrienne requested.

"As you wish, gorgeous. Well, I'm glad to join tonight's dinner because I saw a goddess," Keith continued.

"Oh God, will you please stop saying those words? You lied just to get my approval to have sex, am I right?"

Keith laughed at loud, and Pedro heard them. He immediately regretted his action for laughing out loud because Pedro strolled towards them. Actually, he wondered why his cousin was so protective about Adrienne Mcbride when the woman obviously didn't mean anything to him. Then, an idea popped up inside his head and he wanted to test Pedro Lassiter once more.

"Where do you live, Adrienne? I will be glad to drive you home," he said, and as expected, when Pedro heard his statement, a line developed between Pedro's brows, and he frowned.

"I have to take Adrienne home now since we still have to go to work in the morning tomorrow," he suddenly announced.

Keith looked at her wristwatch and expressed displeasure that it was just nine o'clock in the evening. "Please let her stay for another hour," he asked Pedro.

"Better luck next time cousin," he said. "She was not feeling well today but Mother insisted that she should join us for dinner."

Keith pouted his lips, and then he moved closer towards Adrienne. "Can I get your mobile number? You know, to keep in touch after tonight," he said.

"I don't have a phone," she replied.

"Come on, Miss Mcbride! Let's get moving," Pedro instructed.

Adrienne felt sorry for Keith, but she was relieved that Pedro had arrived to save her from his cousin's clutches. The fact that Keith Lassiter was openly flirting with her made her feel uncomfortable, and she didn't know what to do if it went on for another minute.

"Thank you for saving me earlier," she said while they were inside his car.

"No problem. Sometimes, my cousin is just a pain in the ass. Ready?" He asked to check if she wore the seatbelt.

"Yes," she replied.

"Good," he said.

Pedro was not one to boast, but he felt it would be fun for Adrienne to get a taste of what it was like to ride in a luxurious car. However, Pedro's attempt to impress his secretary did not go as well as planned. Adrienne didn't even bother to glance at his automobile for more than a minute, and he didn't say anything about it either. He really wanted to ask Adrienne a question, but he knew it would make him appear horrible.

They were on the road when he decided to ask her about Keith Lassiter. "It appears like Keith has a thing for you," he remarked.

Adrienne raised an eyebrow at the man who was sitting behind the wheel, indicating that he was being nosy. "Yes, he said I am gorgeous, and I think he is a sweet guy," she said.

However, Pedro admonished himself a few seconds after flashing his brightest smile. "Do you think you'll be able to hail a cab from the highway?"

Adrienne clenched her lower lip in disbelief at the abrupt changes, yet she couldn't tell him the truth. "Of course," she replied.

"Then, get out," Pedro ordered he pulled over.

"W-what?" Adrienne asked in disbelief but Pedro already pulled over, opened the door, and told her to get out of his vehicle!

Chapter 3 THREE

The following day, Pedro was surprised to see his cousin waiting for him at the garage. He narrowed his eyes at Keith and asked him, "Are you on your way somewhere?"

"Yes. I need to see Miss Mcbride today but she doesn't have a phone," Keith replied.

"So what? Are you going to be a nuisance in the office?"

"Nope. How about letting me work there temporarily?"

"Are you fucking serious, Keith Lassiter?" Pedro asked because the man vowed to step on their grandfather's building. "Is it because of Adrienne Mcbride? Are you smitten by her beauty?"

"Yes," Keith replied plainly.

"Wow, this is great. Everyone has been bothering you about working side by side with me but you wouldn't budge," he reminded Keith about their usual banter during family gatherings.

"Well, things happened and I have changed my mind," he declared.

"Oh really? This is great, come on!"

Although, Keith Lassiter had no prior experience working in their family business, the man has graduated in Business Management, and he did well in school. Their grandmother has been pressuring Keith to join him but the man preferred to enjoy his life with women and cars.

"You look awful in that colorful suit," Pedro criticized Keith's choice of color. The suit was bright red, and it didn't fare well with his long black hair.

"You and your awful sense of fashion. Do you know this is the current trend?"

"Let's go," Pedro chose not to comment on the matter especially about fashion because he was not interested.

"I'll follow your car," Keith stated.

Pedro nodded his head in agreement but when he saw the type of care Keith was about to bring to work, he could only shake his head in disbelief. His cousin planned to show off but he knew Adrienne better than Keith, and the woman wouldn't be impressed.

Later on, when they arrived at their destination, Keith smiled at him. For a moment, he could feel a little bit of anger towards his cousin. "Do you think she will be impressed?"

"Yes," Keith replied confidently.

"She doesn't seem to be interested in you," Pedro stated a fact.

"Perhaps, but you know me, Pete. I can make her fall for me," he declared.

Pedro narrowed his eyes at Keith for speaking with so much confidence. "What if you can't make her fall for you?"

"Don't you know me?" Keith responded with an inquiry. "You know that I am capable of winning anybody's heart."

"Alright. However, you should also remember that dating someone who's below our level would only cause a problem in the future," Pedro reminded his cousin.

"How can I forget?" Keith asked and then he smirked.

"How much do you like her?"

"Very much," Keith responded confidently. Well, it wasn't about beauty but more on her character. He couldn't explain to his cousin but there was something intriguing about Adrienne Mcbride.

"Then, may the best man wins," Pedro announced, and Keith immediately stopped walking towards the lift.

"What do you mean by that, Peter?"

"I'm just saying that you are not the only person who is interested with my assistant. Good luck," he added.

"What about you, Pedro Lassiter? Are you not attracted with her?"

Keith's question caused Pedro to frown. Was he ever attracted to Adrienne? "I am so busy to think about it, Keith."

"Liar," Keith reacted violently.

"You are talking nonsense, Keith. You know your way to the HR's office, right?"

"Yes, but I want to see Adrienne first," he stated.

"Do whatever you want," he said without looking at his cousin but fate probably has another plan for Keith because they just got inside the elevator when Adrienne Mcbride joined them. The woman was surprised to see both of them inside the lift, but she managed to smile sweetly. Pedro groaned upon seeing Keith's joyful expression but he couldn't embarrass his cousin in front of the staff. Wait, why did she look so fresh in the morning?

"Good morning, Adrienne, how are you today?" Keith greeted first.

Adrienne smiled at Keith Lassiter and said, "I'm all good, Mr Lassiter. Thank you." After responding to Keith's greetings, her eyes darted towards her boss but the taciturn man was busy with his phone. She pouted her lips as she returned her attention towards the other guy.

"Keith. Just call me Keith from now."

For a moment, Adrienne stared at her boss to ask for an approval, but then, she probably realized that Pedro Lassiter has no say on the matter. "If you wish to, Keith," she agreed.

"Perfect," Keith claimed, and then he simply asked Pedro to move a little, and to give more space to the woman.

Adrienne heard Pedro groaned but she chose to ignore it and just smile at her boss. "Good morning, Mr Lassiter," she greeted him as well, but the man seemed to be thinking about something else. He was too occupied to listen to her, so she just masked her embarrassment with a smile.

"Don't mind the old man. He's occasionally grumpy especially in the morning," Keith assured Adrienne Mcbride that it was alright to be plainly ignored. "Pete, she said her greetings, please pay attention!"

"I heard her, Keith," Pedro replied.

Adrienne gasped in disbelief when Pedro confidently claimed about hearing it but not saying a word. "Do we have a problem, Mr Lassiter?" She inquired because the man had been acting differently since last night. "How about you apologize first?"

"Why? Did he do something wrong to you?" Keith interfered.

"I guess it's only right to just ask him, Keith," Adrienne said, but her eyes were staring daggers towards Pedro Lassiter. Thankfully, they arrived at the floor before Pedro Lassiter could comment another word. She exited first with a smile.

"Hey, Addy! Please wait for me!" Keith called out.

"Hold on," she suddenly stopped when her phone kept on ringing, and she wondered why Pedro's mother called her. She motioned Keith to keep his distance for a while she took the call. "Yes, Mrs Lassiter. Right now? Okay, noted."

"Where are you going, Addy?" Keith inquired.

"Please don't call me that, Keith. I like Adrienne better than Addy," she told him.

"I'm sorry, so where are you going Adrienne?" He sounded silly but he liked it just fine!

Adrienne just smiled at Keith because she didn't want to divulge the information that Pedro's mother wanted to meet her at the nearby coffee shop. The woman said it was just quick, and she believed it wouldn't jeopardize her job. "Excuse me for moment," she just told him, and then she hurried back to the elevator. Fortunately, her boss didn't notice, thanks to his crankiness in the morning.

A few moments later, Adrienne arrived at a dainty coffee shop just a few blocks away from her workplace. For a second, she stood near the door, and looked around. When she found her, she immediately strolled towards the sophisticated mother of Pedro Lassiter.

"You are fast," Nancy Lassiter said before gesturing Adrienne to sit down.

"Good morning, Madame," she greeted the woman as usual.

"Hmmm I know this is uncalled for, dear, but I really need your help," Nancy announced, while working on her doe-like eyes to get Adrienne's sympathy later on.

"My help? For what?" She inquired.

"I am worried about Pedro. He seemed so contented with himself, and he did everything just to avoid marrying someone...and you helped him with Natalya."

Adrienne suddenly became comfortable at the woman's statement especially when Nancy Lassiter's voice implied something like disappointment. "How did you know, Madame?"

"I know everything, but I am glad he asked your help, and it means a lot to me," Nancy continued as she stared into the young woman in front of her. Pedro disliked women except for family members, so asking his secretary for help was a big deal for Nancy. Then, a loud sigh escaped from her lips to make it more dramatic.

While listening at Nancy Lassiter, Adrienne wondered if she did something wrong. Then, her eyes widened when realization hit her. "Are you going to fire me?"

"No, silly girl. What I mean is, my son must have felt comfortable with you or he wouldn't ask you to do such a thing," Nancy explained.

"Or maybe he has no choice," Adrienne believed that her boss was left with few options in dealing with Natalya Caldwell. He was pressed for time, and she was available! Otherwise, he wouldn't bother to ask her help.

"No. I am sure that's not the reason, and that's why I am here. Can you help me?"

"About what, Madame?"

"Seduce him," Nancy announced. "Make him fall for you, or get yourself pregnant with his child."

"W-what?"

"He needs an heir but he's not interested with any woman," Nancy said.

For a moment, Adrienne considered Nancy Lassiter's offer. Even if the Madame didn't say about the compensation details, she knew that there would be money involved. "I don't think I'm capable of doing it, Mrs Lassiter."

"One hundred thousand dollars," Nancy suddenly said. "You can take the fifty percent right away, and the balance can be claimed once the child is born."

"Are you serious?" She asked but when Nancy Lassiter nodded her head, she narrowed her eyes at the woman and exclaimed, "But this is ridiculous!"

"Maybe. However, we are desperate to see his child being born in this world. Help us, and you will be fairly compensated. Think about your grandmother, dear. She's still in the hospital, right?"

Adrienne nodded.

"Take the offer," Nancy said again.

The offer was tempting but something else has bothered her. Pedro Lassiter could have any woman in the world, and his mother didn't have to pay. "Why me?" She asked.

"Because you are special, and my son needs a special woman like you," Nancy said while staring into Adrienne's eyes. "I know you are worried about something, but the money can help you."

"So, will you take the child from me once he is born?" Nancy's answer to her inquiry could make or break the deal. As a child, she was also abandoned by her parents, and the pain that she went through while growing up was too much. She couldn't let her child suffered the same as her. She's maybe young and inexperienced but she's not heartless as her mother.

The conversation she had with Pedro's mother affected her mood at work. Keith Lassiter probably noticed the changes in her mood because he suddenly distanced himself from her. Whereas for Pedro Lassiter, as usual, he was insensitive to his surroundings, and focused on his work.

From time to time, he would require her help, and she was fine with that. However, they had a slight argument when the man demanded to take her into another dinner meeting with a woman he wanted to dump. Why his mother did arranged several dates for her son? With his looks and qualifications alone, Pedro Lassiter could get any woman he wanted without his mother's help!

She wanted to say no but she has also signed another agreement with him, to be at his disposal any time. She signed it for an additional pay. Another sigh escaped from her lips as soon as she saw Pedro coming out of his office. He looked gorgeous in his suit, and if she didn't know better, she would swoon for him. For a moment, she stared at his boss, and recalled her conversation with his mother earlier.

"Let's go now," he ordered.

"Okay," she just said while following him.

Later on, while in the parking space of the building that he owned, Adrienne noticed Pedro unbuttoning his plaid shirt beneath the four-button fashionable jacket before he boarded the car. When he removed the button, he appeared more comfortable, and she had to turn away as quickly as she could before he noticed. Pedro Lassiter donned a magnificent suit with exquisite trimmings, as he often does.

"I hope you don't mind, but may I ask you a question?" Before he started the engine, she queried.

Pedro arched his thick brows in reaction to the woman beside him. "I hope it's not too personal," he continued, "since I'd hate to discuss my data with someone like you."

Adrienne rolled her eyes at Pedro as he belittled her for the nth time. "No, sir, it's nothing personal."

Pedro started the engine to get things moving because they were running late for supper. "All right, shoot!"

"Are you a homosexual man?"

He inadvertently stepped on the brake, causing his partner to curse. Pedro inhaled deeply and told himself to disregard the woman's inquiry. Or was he just plain obvious? No, she might be looking for information to use to exploit him for money. Then he said, "Why?" With his eyes narrowing at her, he asked again. "Do you want to see how powerful I am in bed? "

Adrienne noticed how he grinned before, and he must have assumed she would fall for his ruse. "If you're trying to intimidate me, just stop because it's not going to work. Just so you know, gays can be powerful as well."

When Adrienne managed to rebuff Pedro's comments, he tightened his jaw. She demonstrated her knowledge of men, and he had to deal with it. "Are you okay with sleeping with a gay? " He attempted to assault her with his words once again.

"No, but you'll be an exception if it ever comes to it."

Pedro slapped the steering wheel before stepping on it, hoping to frighten the woman with his driving speed. When he looked at her, she was calmer than ever, and the dumb brat even grinned when she noticed him glancing at her.

He succeeded in terrifying her, but she refused to give him the joy of knowing. Even if she wanted to vomit, she pulled it together for the sake of her dignity and smiled at him. She was only relieved when Pedro parked his prized automobile in a dark alley.

"I thought we are heading to a hotel," she reminded him.

Pedro punched the steering wheel while inside the car, startling the woman he had paid generously for nothing! He clinched his teeth, trying to think of a way to express his displeasure with her. "Of course. By the way, I have another dinner date tomorrow and you have to come with me. Same time tomorrow," he said.

"What are you talking about?" She raised her voice when she inquired because she had to visit her granny in the hospital. She couldn't delay it any longer! Adrienne was taken aback by his announcement since it is crazy! No, it wasn't ludicrous, but it was exhausting! She couldn't be his secretary during the day and his whore at night. It was too much for her!

"I'm sorry, sir, but I won't be available tomorrow."

"Whether you're available or not, you're going to be with me!"

"Is that a threat?"

"Yes," he said.
